{"id":67198,"date":"2020-12-17T21:26:41","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T21:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/?p=67198"},"modified":"2024-11-12T23:40:04","modified_gmt":"2024-11-12T23:40:04","slug":"epuffer-titan-x-2021-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/epuffer-titan-x-2021-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Epuffer TITAN X Review &#8211; Upgraded Hybrid MTL and DTL Vape Pen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>They say, if it ain&#8217;t broke don&#8217;t fix it&#8230;improve it&#8230;and that&#8217;s certainly the case with the ePuffer TITAN X vape pen kit.<\/p>\n<p>I reviewed the original<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/epuffer-titan-hybrid-vaporizer-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\"> ePuffer Titan<\/a> last January and was pretty impressed &#8211; good build &#8211; good flavour and as pen kits go, a contemporary design.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-reviewed.jpg\" alt=\"epuffer titan x review\" width=\"800\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-reviewed.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-reviewed-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-reviewed-768x509.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-reviewed-696x461.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-reviewed-634x420.jpg 634w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As to how ePuffer has improved the new version will shall see.<\/p>\n<p>OK, ePuffer is a UK based vape manufacturer and began with the back in the day impressive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/epuffer-magnum-snaps-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Epuffer Magnum Snaps<\/a> &#8211; a funky little cig-a-lite&#8230;ah the memories lol.<\/p>\n<p>Since then the company has released the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/epuffer-xpod-mini-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">EPuffer Xpod Mini <\/a> which Harley <em>really<\/em> liked, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/epuffer-xpod-review\/\" rel=\"dofollow\" >XPod kit<\/a>, a pod kit that site admin Jonny really enjoyed.<\/p>\n<p>Epuffer has released many other products, including cigars which I really like the look of &#8211; but the three vape kits I&#8217;ve mentioned are the only ones we&#8217;ve reviewed.<\/p>\n<h2>What Can We Expect From the New ePuffer Titan X?<\/h2>\n<p>The ePuffer Titan X vape kit is a pen style and the company describes it as a &#8216;<em>hybrid<\/em>&#8216;.<\/p>\n<p>In simple terms that means it can switch from a mouth to lung vape to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/beginners-guide-to-sub-ohm-vaping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">sub ohm<\/a> by swapping out the coils &#8211; as to if that works, we shall see.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67201\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-coils.jpg\" alt=\"epuffer titan x coils\" width=\"800\" height=\"415\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-coils.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-coils-300x156.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-coils-768x398.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-coils-696x361.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It has a built in battery with fast charging, the tank is a top fill and there&#8217;s dual airflow.<\/p>\n<p>So with all that in mind, I&#8217;m hoping for good flavour and clouds, coil and battery longevity and of course how it switches between vaping styles.<\/p>\n<p>Epuffer told me the improvements made came from customer feedback [great to see] and upgrades to the original include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1. Added a USB Type-C connection &#8211; The battery is now charging in less<br \/>\nthan 1 hour.<\/li>\n<li>2. Updated software to provide a better support for 0.4 DTL coil.<\/li>\n<li>3. Improved 1.0ohm and 0.4ohm coils (more vapour, better flavour).<\/li>\n<li>4. Modified a mouthpiece and installed a non removable rubber gasket.<\/li>\n<li>5. There&#8217;s no screen or up and down buttons to change wattage, instead the <em>Inteli Sense Micro Controller<\/em> within the chip checks the coil and sets the wattage accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>The top fill tank is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/the-tpd-what-does-it-all-mean\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">TPD<\/a> friendly 2ml capacity, is made from glass [covered by a protective frame] and part of the upgrade is a stainless steel mesh splash guard meant to stop spit-back.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a dual cyclops airflow on the bottom of the tank, with a wide open slot rather than any honeycomb or holes that reduce in size.<\/p>\n<p>So, it all looks good on paper, we&#8217;ll see in a moment how the Epuffer TITAN X vapes.<\/p>\n<h2>Design and Build Quality<\/h2>\n<p>Apart from the glass tank, the rest of the TITAN X vape kit is made from polished stainless steel.<\/p>\n<p>They say polished, up close it has a kind of minimalist brushed stainless steel look about it, so it&#8217;s not shiny to the point of being a <em>blingy<\/em> fingerprint magnet &#8211; that&#8217;s a good thing!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67205\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-hybrid-vape-pen-kit.png\" alt=\"epuffer titan x hybrid vape pen kit\" width=\"600\" height=\"530\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-hybrid-vape-pen-kit.png 600w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-hybrid-vape-pen-kit-300x265.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-hybrid-vape-pen-kit-475x420.png 475w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The drip tip can&#8217;t be removed &#8211; I have tried so it might be my weak wrists &#8211; and is rather elongated but comfortable enough.<\/p>\n<p>The moving parts are in general OK, the top cap screws off nicely [the fill ports are a little small] with nice threads, and it&#8217;s the same with the threads on the coil and tank to battery.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67206\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/afc-1.jpg\" alt=\"afc\" width=\"800\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/afc-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/afc-1-300x126.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/afc-1-768x324.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/afc-1-696x293.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One bugbear is the airflow control &#8211; once screwed onto the mod it&#8217;s a bugger to move and you do end up unscrewing the tank, as I have a number of times. Even now and fully lubed up with vape juice, it&#8217;s stiffer than my joints after a 10 mile hike&#8230;that&#8217;s really stiff BTW \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Overall it is very well made and design wise does look on the badass side of good.<\/p>\n<p>So all good so far, let&#8217;s see how it performs.<\/p>\n<h2>Epuffer TITAN X Quick Start Guide<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>x5 clicks of the fire button on and off<\/li>\n<li>Unscrew base of tank to swap coils<\/li>\n<li>Unscrew top cap to fill<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67207\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-how-to-fill.jpg\" alt=\"epuffer titan x how to fill\" width=\"800\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-how-to-fill.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-how-to-fill-300x146.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-how-to-fill-768x372.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/epuffer-titan-x-how-to-fill-696x338.jpg 696w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dead simple or what!<\/p>\n<h2>How Does the Epuffer TITAN X Perform?<\/h2>\n<p>Given the kit can switch between MTL and DTL, I&#8217;ll break it down into the two coils.<\/p>\n<p>For the MTL coil I used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/supergood-cocktail-selection-nic-salts-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">SuperGood Cocktail Selection nic salt<\/a> Peach Bellini &#8211; bloody lovely stuff.<\/p>\n<p>And for the DTL I used the last of my very tasty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/komodo-vape-jungle-juice-lagoon-e-liquid-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">Jungle Juice Red Lagoon<\/a> &#8211; a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/komodo-vape-jungle-juice-lagoon-e-liquid-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">70\/30% VG\/PG<\/a> mix.<\/p>\n<h3>1.0 ohm Coil<\/h3>\n<p>I obviously used the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/guide-to-nicotine-salt-e-juice-and-best-nic-salt-brands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">nic salt<\/a> on this one&#8230;me being Captain Obvious again&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The fill ports were just about wide enough to fit the nozzle &#8211; the same can&#8217;t be said for bigger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/short-fill-shake-n-vape-e-liquids-guide\/\" rel=\"dofollow\" >shortfill<\/a> bottles.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-67209\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/titan-x-atomizer-coil-1-ohm.jpg.jpg\" alt=\"titan-x-atomizer-coil-1-ohm.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/titan-x-atomizer-coil-1-ohm.jpg.jpg 250w, https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/titan-x-atomizer-coil-1-ohm.jpg-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>OK after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecigclick.co.uk\/e-cig-tanks-guide\/#bestpractice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\">priming the coil<\/a>, I let it sit for a good 10 minutes. For newbies, priming is extremely important on stock coils as it allows the vape juice to completely soak the cotton, so avoiding dry hits and ruining your coil &#8211; see the link for more info.<\/p>\n<p>OK first vape, and it was impressive.<\/p>\n<p>I had the airflow half open and got a very nice semi-restricted vape. On a scale of 1:10 with 10 being the airiest it was about a 6.
