These ones take me back to around nine years ago when I first started vaping.

If memory serves, CE4 clearomizers were the fashion among transitioning vapers. I myself used one as part of the quitting process – but that wasn’t the only way of ditching the cigs.

Back then Cigalike vapes were jostling for attention, freely available in Corner Shops, Petrol Stations and Supermarkets.

It’s pretty much like that now with disposables, isn’t it.

Anyway, the truth is those Cigalikes sucked!

Poor on flavour and even worse for vapour production they played little part in my successful transition across to vaping.

So Elf Bar have made a clever move. They’ve rebooted those old devices and brought them up to speed.

Here’s hoping they don’t suck, eh?

What Can We Expect From the Elf Bar Cigalike Vapes?

Whether I liked them or not, Cigalikes were pocket friendly simple devices ready to use. Again, very much like today’s disposables. I’m quite surprised the fusion of the two has taken so long.

So we get the form factor of those early vape devices only slimmer, lighter and more elegant looking. With a stainless steel shell they’re likely to be more durable too.

1.6ml of E-liquid has been squeezed into the 9.2mm diameter tube with a salt nicotine strength of 20mg. Meaning the Elf Bar Cigalike devices are fully TPD compliant.

In terms of detail I couldn’t discover the coil material or resistance. The number of puffs seems to vary from site to site so I’ll do my best to let you know.

Expect a total of 20 flavours to choose from ranging from fruits, drinks, tobacco and mint. Menthol has been mixed in with a few for good measure.

Each Cigalike flavour is numbered. To me that’s highly reminiscent of purchasing cigarettes. Remember the old number ones? Number six?

I think Elf Bar do and it kind of adds a touch of nostalgia.

Ok. Without further ado let’s see if these are an improvement over the original Cigalikes.

Apple Peach

Elf Bar Says:

I Say:

I get quite a strong aroma of Peach when breaking the sealed pack open. That’s what you’re predominantly getting from this one.

The Menthol helps to create a smooth cooling inhale which is far from over bearing. It makes a very pleasant change from traditional disposables.

Flavour is quite strong and lingers around the taste buds post vape. That’s also where the Apples uncover themselves. More of an after taste than during the exhale itself.

Neither Peach or Apple is very natural tasting but the combination of the two is quite effective – it’s actually appealing.

A very tasty and refreshing vape with oodles of flavour.

Blueberry

Elf Bar Says:

Enjoy the pure taste of fresh Blueberries in this fantastic disposable vape, which provides you with the best vaping sensation with each inhalation and exhalation.

I Say:

This is a very aromatic vape. It’s also quite sweet on the inhale. The sweetness combines with Menthol and easily takes up half of the vaping experience.

Flavour quality and intensity take up the business end. The Blueberries aren’t what I would consider fresh and they’re certainly not natural tasting. This is the ‘accessible’ version of the fruit – the one that’s found in the majority of disposables.

That flavour is strong and concentrated and although synthetic tasting balances well with what the Menthol and sweetness contribute.

The flavour will linger too so be prepared for that. It tends to amplify the artificial qualities of the vape.

I think Blueberry is a taste you’ll either love or loathe. As for me?

I’m sitting on the fence up here – as usual!

Cappuccino

Elf Bar Says:

I Say:

The aroma hints of rich, ground Coffee beans and that’s not an exaggeration. It’s just like the real thing but how does it vape?

Not quite as good. It’s by no means bad but definitely loses something on the exhale. There’s a very strange taste pulling through and it takes the edge off what I’m assuming to be the roasted element of the vape.

It’s not a burnt taste but comes very close to containing the dreaded ‘rubber band’ taste effect I’ve experienced with similar profiles.

There’s every possibility the Menthol content is nullifying it but when the two combine something drastically changes the classic taste of Cappuccino.

This is a very weird tasting vape and one I’m personally not that keen on. And why is Menthol included in a hot beverage vape?

Cream Tobacco

Elf Bar Says:

This excellent flavour is perfect for people who have switched from smoking to vaping or prefer the somewhat sweet yet smoky flavour of fresh Tobacco leaves for an incredible vaping sensation with each inhale and exhale.

I Say:

Very subtle, very sweet. That’s one of the ways of describing Cream Tobacco.

This blend of tobacco leaves has been finely balanced and it’s one of those vapes that’s best experienced in the way you’d puff on a cigar.

The flavour seems better with mini puffs and the sweetness attaches itself to the lips in a kind of semi saturated manner. The blend is similar to Virginian tobacco – certainly the hand rolled variety, anyway.

There’s just the mildest hint at cream and very much hidden beneath the main ingredient.

However, it is once again laced with Menthol. It’s not particularly strong but like the sweetness, leaves an impression on the lips post vape.

When all’s said and done, Elf Bar have done a fine job at recreating a tobacco based flavour.

Raspberry Orange Blossom

Elf Bar Says:

Experience this fascinating blend of floral notes fused with the taste of succulent Raspberries fused with a hint of Orange for an excellent vaping experience with each inhale and exhale.

I Say:

Raspberry Orange Blossom is the most refreshing Cigalike on the list so far. Why do I say this?

It’s a combination of things, really. We’re introduced early doors to the inherent sweetness of the vape during inhale but there’s a veritable flavour explosion on the way out.

Most of the floral nature of the vape is present throughout the exhale and backed up by the cooling Menthol back notes.

Personally, Orange is the dominant fruit and even comes packaged with a citrusy sharpness. Think freshly squeezed and you’re getting the experience. It’s a pretty decent interpretation for a change.

The Raspberry isn’t as clever, though. It’s clearly in there but more noticeable as a late, sweet aftertaste.

That doesn’t stop Raspberry Orange Blossom from being a killer vape for the long hot summer months. It’s one of those ‘pick me up’ vapes that hits all the right spots.

Red Wine Ice

Elf Bar Says:

I Say:

This one doesn’t work for me in terms of the flavour description, unfortunately. That’s a shame because wine vapes seem few and far between.

The best and maybe only way of describing Red Wine Ice is like a stripped back version of Heisenberg. Yet there’s something different about the initial inhale. Of all things, it reminds me of Beef! Yes – that does sound odd and quirky but then so is the guy writing this! lol

It’s a mixture of Heisenberg, Beef and a strong Menthol. That’s really all I’ve got. I’m honest if nothing else..

There’s a distinct candy like edge running throughout the exhale.

I’m just simply not reminded of a wine inspired vape at all. We get plenty of flavour, lots of sweetness and maybe a tad too much cooling.

Such an odd mixture and not one I think I’ll be returning to in a hurry.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

The battery held out for 6.5hrs and that’s longer than I was expecting given that I vape quite heavily.

Admittedly, power started to wain during the last half hour or so and the coil was struggling to keep up with wicking demands but generally speaking flavour and vapour production held up well throughout its life span.

So I estimate you’ll get between 450-500 puffs from the Elf Bar Cigalike disposables.

If you’re a new or casual vaper the device is likely to last between 1-2 days.

Final Review Verdict

These disposables gave me an excellent MTL vape. For me, possibly the best of the year!  Some are bound to say it’s too tight but I got exactly what I was looking for.

Especially from a device designed to emulate a cigarette. Elf Bar have absolutely nailed it.

The flavour was more intense than I was expecting and that’s another plus. Admittedly they weren’t all to my liking but that’s missing the point. They do more to hold the attention than a lot of traditional disposable vapes.

Vapour production, too is just like the real thing in terms of emulation. Bang on the money. Discreet and very stealth like.

The Elf Bar Cigalike is about the same length as a ‘Superking’ if memory serves. It’s a bit embarrassing to say but I did find myself holding the disposable as a cigarette too!

I guess the only negative is in the additional weight but when it comes to portability and pocket friendliness the Cigalike has got you covered.

Elf Bar have just given the struggling smoker a much needed life line and I’d be surprised if these don’t go on to sell by the vape load!

Were this a product review I would have given it a straight ten.

As mentioned, they are very much focused on the new vaper with just two products in their range. We recently carried out the SMOKO Vape Pen review and although it looks simple (which it is to use) it provided an excellent plug and play vape.

What Can We Expect From The SMOKO E Cigarette?

This is what the vaping world like to call a ‘cig-a-like’. Self explanatory really They are small, cig shaped and while not for everyone definitely have a place and a job to do when it comes to making the switch from smoking.

So it’s all very simple. It comes in two parts, a battery and a refill cartridge. The latter of which houses the e-liquid. All you do is screw them together and you’re vaping.

This kit was sent to us free of charge for the purposes of review. As always our views are our own.

In The Box

The presentation packaging is solid and the branding clean. Inside we have the following:

• Metal carry case
• 2 Batteries (This will depend on the kit you purchased)
• 5 Cartomizers (This will depend on kit purchased)
• USB Charger
• Info card

Design and Build Quality

The Smoko e cigarette is designed to look like a real tobacco cigarette, or as near as you can get with a metal tube and cartridge.

It’s very good quality wise and feels solid in the hand. If you are used to holding a cigarette it may take a bit of getting used to the weight change but it won’t be noticeable after a few days of vaping.

There are no buttons to press, simply take a draw and the e cig does the rest. Easy stuff.

The kit includes a nice metal carry case that you can hold one battery, 2 refill cartridges and a USB charger. Nice touch that keeps things neat and tidy if taking out and about.

The only negative from me is subjective one. I’m not a huge fan of the big branding on the side. Not a big thing I know and you can also hold your finger over it if it bothers you. No.. Only me? Thought so! Moving on.

How Does The SMOKO E Cigarette Perform?

Not much to say here in terms of performance as this is a very basic vape, and I mean that in a good way. It’s incredibly simple to use. Remove a refill cartridge from the pack. Screw it onto a charged battery and it’s ready to vape straight away.

Charging/Battery Life

I can’t find any info on the battery capacity but from what I’d say is gentle/average use, I was vaping from 10am – 6pm before I found a recharge was needed.

This will of course change for you depending on how much you vape.

If you are a heavy smoke/vaper then you could expect battery life to be reduced by quite a bit. More on how to overcome that below.

Charging time is OK. Around 1.5-2 hours. Which brings me to my next important point!

What I always recommend with this type of e cigarette is to get at least two batteries and use them in rotation. This cannot be vaped whilst charging either so you will be thankful for that spare.

SMOKO do offer a kit with two batteries so no need to be hunting the site for spares.

SMOKO offer a 14 different flavours, five of which are tobacco/menthol. They vary in nic strength but all offer what would be a good strength to give a good nic hit to the ex-smokers. They are also made in the UK so comply with all current TPD regulations. Each refill cartridge comes wrapped and sealed with a ‘made on’ and use by date.

When buying refills they come in packs of 5. We will checking out  a select few of their flavours.

Cherry

They Say

Cherry!  Full of succulent and sweet cherry flavours, this will become an instant best seller!

I Say

This is very much a straightforward cherry flavour. The flavour is subtle on the inhale but on the exhale is where the cherry flavour stands out. It does linger a few minutes after vaping.

It’s on the sweeter side rather than a ‘real berry’ flavour but still pretty good. Throat hit is smooth but you know it’s there and the vapour volume follows the same path.

Overall a good flavour, not one I’d personally vape all day but that’s personal preference and when testing e-liquids it really is a personal thing.

Mint Breeze

They Say

Our ever popular Mint Breeze flavour is a cool and refreshing celebration for your taste buds! A powerful hit and fresh flavour, if you smoke a menthol cigarette then this is the E-Cigarette flavour for you.

I Say

Again, this does what it says on the tin. Not overly ‘breezy’ as a vape, but there is that slight cooling sensation mixed in with the mint. It’s all on the subtle side so good for those that don’t want that full on menthol hit.

Original Tobacco

They Say

I Say

As a non tobacco vaper I’ve got to say this is a very easy vape for me. By that I mean that it’s not an in your face tobacco flavour, more of a ‘light’ version of a cigarette. I personally used to smoke Marlboro Lights so this sits well with me.

For me the tobacco is subtle and the vape smooth. If you are looking for something a little more robust then you’d likely be best off with their Virginia flavour or the Havana for the cigar smokers out there.

Havana

Not a bad thing, the slightly sweeter edge (not too sweet) makes it a very easy vape for me and one that I enjoyed. My personal favourite of the bunch although I am primarily a fruit flavoured vaper.

Vanilla

They Say

A sweet and delicious dessert tasting e-cigarette.  Scrumptious and satisfying – for those who want different kind of vape!

I Say

As vanilla goes this is very realistic. There is a slight sweetness but not so much that it turns into a sickly vape. On the exhale we are left with a faint vanilla wafting around the tastebuds. A good version although not one I could personally vape all day. For the vanill fans out there it’s definitely worth a try.

Menthol

They Say

A clean and refreshing flavour, our Menthol flavour E Cigarette refills are even better than the taste of a menthol cigarette.  Each refill will leave you wanting more of this cool mint flavour, we think it’s the best in the market!

I Say

This is a menthol that doesn’t blow your socks off. In my book that’s a good thing. You still get that all familiar cooling and with the hint of tobacco coming through in the background it makes for a good alternative to the real thing.

Final Verdict

The Smoko electronic cigarette was actually a nice little surprise that took me back to my early vaping days where I began with cig-a-likes.

Of course, this is aimed at the new vaper that still wants that familiar look and feel to a cigarette rather than a larger vape pen style kit or box mod.

It’s up there with the easiest e cigs to use so perfect for the no nonsense vaper. It’s also not bad on the price front either making it a low risk option to try.

Would I buy the Smoko E Cigarette again?

As someone who is quite far along in my vaping journey the answer would be no. But if I was a new vaper and this type of device ticked the boxes for me then the answer would be yes, without doubt.

The eRoll MAC is a tiny little device comprised of a battery and a disposable cartridge.

It weighs just 17.3g, houses a 180mAh battery and holds 0.55ml of eliquid.

Built to be used with high nicotine eliquid, will the eRoll Mac be the perfect way to stop smoking? One of the best e cigarettes for beginners? Let’s find out!

Features of the eRoll Mac

Two main things really stand out for me with the eRoll Mac – size and simplicity.

I don’t have one to compare but from memory, it’s about exactly the same size as a cigarette. You could definitely fit one into your shirt pocket.

And you really can’t get much more simple than this little kit!

Charge the battery, fill it up and vape. No changing coils either as the whole cartridge is made to be thrown away once it’s past its best.

If you’re looking to make the switch directly from cigarettes to vaping then Joyetech have made it as easy as possible with the eRoll Mac.

Design and Build Quality

The Joyetech eRoll Mac comes in a plastic, blister pack style packaging which kind of reminds me of something you’d buy from your local petrol station and does give it a bit of a cheap feel.

I received the red colour but you can also get eRoll Mac in silver and black.

PCC

There is also a portable charging case (PCC) available which has a 2000mAh battery and can charge your eRoll on the go. Unfortunately we didn’t receive this for review but we cover a little more about that later.

Lightweight

The eRoll Mac is super lightweight at only 17.3g. The overall feel of the kit is good and surprisingly it doesn’t feel cheap once it’s in your hand.

Everything is super smooth with a nice finish and the kit feels pretty sturdy.

There’s no buttons or switches anywhere on the device as it has a constant output of 3.7V and is draw activated, so will only start to fire as you vape on it.

Charge Port | Charger

The charge port is basically non existent. It’s a tiny magnet with a small hole on the end where the LED is located.

The charger itself is pretty old school. If you’ve been vaping a while you’ll definitely recognise the style of it.
It comes with a standard USB on one end and a little cylinder attachment on the other that has a magnet inside which will connect to the magnet on the base of the eRoll Mac device once it’s been inserted.

Mouthpiece | Airflow

The mouthpiece is plastic and threads directly onto the “coil” part of the cartridge. This is also how you will fill it with e-liquid.

The air intake on the eRoll Mac is located on the very bottom of the cartridge and is one tiny little almost pin prick sized hole.

I really enjoyed the feel of the eRoll Mac whilst I was vaping it. It sits in your hand nicely (you could even hold it like a cigarette if you really wanted to) and the mouth piece is really comfortable to vape on.

Cartridge

The Joyetech eRoll Mac’s 0.55ml capacity cartridges are powered by a 1.5 ohm ceramic coil.

The cartridge screws on and off of the battery super easily as the threading is well machined and really smooth.

As I mentioned before, the mouthpiece is made from plastic and is rounded off nicely which makes it really comfortable to vape. It also unscrews to expose the inside of the cartridge where you will fill up with e-liquid.

Quick Start Guide

How To Fill The Joyetech eRoll Mac Cartridge

• • Unscrew the mouthpiece
  • Fill the tank with eliquid by placing the nozzle of your bottle between the outer part of the “tank” and the inner chamber of the coil

• Screw the mouthpiece back on
• Leave it to stand for 5 minutes to let the cotton fully saturate
  You’re ready to vape!

( The cartridges are disposable so once your coil has burnt out, simply chuck it in the bin and buy another!)

How To Charge The Joyetech eRoll Mac

• Connect the supplied charging cable to a suitable USB outlet
• Insert the battery into the charger (LED indicator first)
• The LED indicator will go out once it’s fully charged

Indication and Protection

There’s a couple of safety features built into the eRoll Mac

• When the voltage of the battery is less than 3.3V, the LED will flash 10 times and the device will not produce any vapour.
• If a short circuit occurs, the LED will flash 3 or 5 times and the device will not produce vapour.
• If you puff on the eRoll Mac for longer than 10 seconds, the LED will flash twice and vapour production will stop

How Does the Joyetech eRoll Mac Perform?

For this review I’ve been using Menthol Mist by Double Drip which is a nic salt e-liquid in 10mg strength and 50/50 VG/PG.

The vaping experience from the eRoll Mac is the closest to a cigarette that I’ve ever tried.

From the restriction on the draw and the powerful nicotine delivery to how it feels in your hand, I think this is an absolute cigarette killer.

It’s all Mouth to Lung (MTL) though, way way too restrictive for Direct to Lung (DTL) which you can tell almost immediately based on the size of the air intake.

The cartridge wicks really well and doesn’t give you any e-liquid into your mouth but the whole cartridge will heat up quite a lot if you’re chain vaping so do bare that in mind.

Flavour and Clouds

Flavour has been pretty average for me but not terrible. I’ve enjoyed the flavour but it doesn’t really compete with the more popular pod vape systems I’ve been trying recently.

The eRoll Mac does produce a decent amount of vapour for a device of its size but you won’t be chucking any clouds. Let’s face it though, you wouldn’t grab this kit expecting to win cloud competitions.

How Long Does The eRoll Mac Cartridge Last?

I’ve been using the Joyetech eRoll Mac alongside my bigger kits for over two weeks now and have filled the tank multiple times. The cartridge shows no signs of giving up and vapes just as well it did on day one.

Battery Life

Battery life is ok. I get around 3 hours of solid usage before I need to recharge but it does only take 30 minutes to charge back up to full so isn’t so bad.

Joyetech has also come up with a way to combat the small battery issue (as briefly touched on above) but we’ll chat more about that in a minute.

Pros

• Lightweight
• Pocket friendly
• Great for beginners
• Easy to use
• Good build quality
• Charges quickly
• Easy to fill
• Good pod life

Cons

• Battery life isn’t great
• Flavour is average
• Cartridge does heat up quite a lot if you use it too much in quick succession
• Cheap and cheerful packaging

Final Review Verdict

The Joyetech eRoll Mac is a great kit for a beginner. It’s easy to use and maintain, pocket friendly without the big clouds and has the perfect restriction to mimic smoking.

The only issue I’ve encountered in my time spent with the device is the overheating problem. The cartridge does get really hot if you vape it too much and too quickly in succession but it doesn’t really affect functionality other than me worrying that it’ll overheat.

Otherwise, there’s been no leaks or misfires and it’s been pretty much smooth sailing.

I did mention that although the eRoll Mac has a pretty small battery capacity if you only pick up the Simple Kit that I received, Joyetech has a great idea to increase the battery massively and that is the Advanced Kit.

The Advanced Kit comes with a portable charging case that has a capacity of 2000mAh and space to charge one eRoll Mac kit and store the another.

Although this doesn’t change the functionality of the kit, it certainly adds a hell of a lot more battery life with each fully charged case being able to recharge the eRoll Mac up to 8 times.

I’m not really sure how popular the eRoll Mac will be with seasoned vapers and I probably wouldn’t replace it if I lost. But, if you’re brand new to vaping, after a small device for CBD vape juice or still smoking and looking for that perfect e-cig to mimic a cigarette then definitely consider this little kit but probably grab yourself the Advanced Kit rather than the Simple Kit.

As an example, when you get to the checkout stage you are presented with the choice of either a manual or automatic battery as well as being able to choose a preferred color.

They also stock 3 different sizes/capacities of battery as well. All sounds complicated but its not once you are at the checkout!

I myself ordered the Vapour2 Standard Starter Kit and chose one black manual and one white/ one steel automatic battery. I also received a free disposable as they had a promotion on at the time.

For those that don’t know the difference between manual and automatic batteries, the manual battery has a button on the side that needs pressing to ‘fire up’ the battery, this in turn begins to heat up the e-liquid, all you have to do then is take a drag then release the button.

The automatic has no button on the side, the battery is activated by a sensor when you take a drag.

All quite simple, I actually like the manual battery as i tend to get a slightly better vapor volume first time but if you are starting out I would suggest buying one of each.

Both batteries performed well though so no complaints there.

When it comes to size of the batteries, the ones I bought (79mm) are slightly longer than both E-Lites and the Green Smoke short battery.

This wasn’t a problem for me though and if you wanted something smaller they do offer a 67mm battery.

The appearance of the batteries are quite plain, they have gone for the cleaner look rather than trying to replicate the exact look of a cigarette with faux rings. This is no big thing though, they still have a nice quality feel to them with good branding.

These are highly recommended as they will charge your electronic cigarette battery on the go without the need for a power source. It is essentially a portable battery.

Overall – Both battery styles are very responsive with a good quality finish. The only real downside is that the replacement batteries are edging towards the pricey side but they last a long time.

Vapor / Flavor

When ordering I decided to go for a broad selection of flavors, the fact they sold cola flavored cartridges pretty much swung it!

I had to see what that was like.

All in all I got one pack of Cherry carts, one pack of Vapour2 Red Tobacco carts and their mixed flavor sampler pack that included the following:

• Coffee
• Cola
• Chocolate
• Vanilla
• Peppermint
• Menthol
• Cherry
• Three tobacco flavors: Sahara, Congress and V2 Red.

Starting with the tobacco flavors, the only one I wasn’t too keen on here was the Sahara. Congress and V2 were both excellent giving me a nice smooth taste, good subtle throat hit and great vapor volume. They represented real tobacco cigarettes well.

As for the ‘flavors’ I surprisingly liked the cola, was all a bit strange but once I got over the fact I was vaping cola it was OK!

My two favorites though were the cherry and menthol both great for something that little bit different.

I suppose the menthol should really be classed alongside the tobacco flavors though.

As always, flavors are a personal preference but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Another plus point (a very big plus point) is that you can buy ‘blank cartridges’ and bottles of e-liquid.

This allows you to refill your own cartridges and can work out a lot cheaper than buying pre-filled cartridges.

If you are new to vaping though I would recommend you stick to buying the pr-efilled carts to start while you get used to it.

There are also discounts for buying pre-filled carts in larger quantities.

As well as the standard blank cartomizers they have also recently released the ‘Vapour2 EX Blanks’. These are a clear tank system that allows you to see the amount of e-liquid you have left. I have tried these out and they perform a treat.

Overall – As a whole the flavors and vapor volume were very good, stand out flavors for me were Congress, V2 Red, Menthol and Cherry. The option to buy empty cartomizers to use with bottled e-liquid is also a big plus point.

Starter Kits

Vapour2 Classic Kit 

Includes one battery, 6 tester flavours and charger. I wouldn’t recommend this one purely because it only comes with one battery. Whatever kit you buy you really need 2 batteries. You could always buy one separately at a later date though

Vapour2 Classic Standard Kit

This is the kit I bought and reviewed. It has everything you could need to get started! Its basically the same as the economy but you get an extra battery, 10 flavor cartridges and a wall adaptor.

Vapour2 Classic Standard Plus Kit

Same contents as the standard above with the addition of a case to carry your spares.

Vapour2 Classic Ultimate kit

This kit comes with 3 batteries, 25 V2 carts, power cig (Battery that plugs into your computer, great if you work on a PC), the usual chargers plus car charger and carry case. This really has everything you need to get started and keep vaping for months without having to buy anything else.

Build Quality & Design

The Magnum Snaps kit batteries are some of the smallest batteries available on a cig-a-like e cigarette. There are two in this kit, one with a blue tip and one with a red tip that glows when taking a draw.

The batteries themselves have a smooth black finish that are nice to the touch. Unlike other mini e cigarettes I have tried the connection between the cartridges and the batteries is magnetic rather than a screw thread.

It works a treat as well, the magnetic connection is firm so once the cartridge snaps into place there is very little movement.

With the cartridge and the battery combined you have a small e cig measuring approximately 3.7 inches.

The battery life of the Epuffer Snaps is, not surprisingly, poor. This is simply down to the size of the battery which is very small for an e cig.

The saving grace with this is that it comes included with the E Pack.

Portable Charging Case / E Pack

Otherwise known as a PCC, the E Pack is a case that not only carries around two batteries and two cartridges but it also charges one battery while it’s in the case.

This is a must have when it comes to a mini e cigarette kit like this. The reason being is that the battery life of the e cigarettes themselves is short. Moderate to heavy vapers will be looking to charge their e cigarette battery every 1.5 hours.

The PCC helps with this. Simply keep one battery in the magnetic charging slot and simply swap the batteries when needed. As long as you keep the E Pack PCC charged then you shouldn’t reach a point where you run out of power on your e cig battery.

The PCC itself is a 540 mAh battery so this should recharge around 4 batteries.

It’s a nice slim PCC with a rubberized finish that slips in and out of the pocket easily. It also has a satisfying ‘snap’ closing lid.

PCC Functions

• When battery is charging in the E Pack the battery tip will glow. When battery is fully charged light will go out
• Press the button on side of E Pack to display the E Pack charge level
• Press and hold the same button to activate flash light on the base of the pack
• Micro USB Charge slot on the base to charge the PCC

So it’s all very straightforward to use and it all works well. As long as you keep the E Pack PCC fully charged and ready before going out you should encounter few issues.

How Does The Snaps E Cigarette Perform?

The kit I received for review came with three tobacco tester cartridges and I was also sent two packs of spare cartridges. One pack of Premium Tobacco and one Mocca Cafe with caramel, both in 6 mg nicotine strength.

The Premium Tobacco is a 70PG / 30VG mix and a subtle tobacco flavor that gives a smooth throat hit with the 6mg nicotine. I’m not a huge fan of tobacco flavors but this I found easy to vape and the flavor did a good job replicating the real thing.

The Caffe Mocca Caramel flavor is a 60PG/40VG mix. I really enjoyed this flavor, by far my personal pick of the two. A subtle coffee on the inhale with the caramel finishing off things nicely on the exhale.

Both flavors have test results on their sales page showing that the Premium Tobacco is free from Diacetyl and Acetyl Propionyl and the Caffe Mocca free from AP.

The vapor volume is decent, you won’t be winning any cloud competitions but for a cig-a-like it certainly does the trick.

With moderate to heavy vaping the cartridges lasted around 1 – 1.5 days for me which was good.

Epuffer also sell blank cartridges for those that would rather use their own e juice and refill themselves.

I haven’t tried these but from blank cig-a-like cartridges I have tried before will allow you to refill anything from 5 – 15 times. It all depends on a number of factors including the type of e liquid used.

Final Epuffer Magnum Snaps Review Verdict

The Epuffer Magnum Snaps kit is, for a cig-a-like, a good kit. I know there are still many smokers out there that want to start on a smaller e cigarette for their first step into vaping.

If that is you then this kit is a good choice. It’s ‘plug and play’ easy to use and allows you to be up and running in no time.

US brand V2 Cigs (Rebranded as Vapour2 in Europe) are picking up a lot of pace in the UK e cigarette market with a steady release of new products being made available.
One of those new products is the Vapour2 EX Series which is a different take on the familiar mini e cig you may have seen before and what we will be reviewing today.

This e cig kit was received free of charge for the purposes of this review but as always my views are my own.

In The Box

The EX comes in a nicely branded presentation box that looks ready made for the shelves of bricks and mortar retail stores. Inside the packaging you will find:

• V2 EX 280 mAh Battery
• V2 EX Cartridge Sleeve
• 3 Rubber ring gaskets (Helps keep the sleeve in place)

Battery Responsiveness

This is what the Vapour2 EX series kit is all about and barring the sleeve all that comes with the kit. The battery I received was the Scarlett Metallic.

So what is the difference between the EX Series battery and the standard V2 Cigs battery?

The immediate difference is (obviously) the looks of the battery. Where the standard battery was plain and based around the look of a cigarette the EX Series battery is more design led. The Scarlett colour, while not being something I would personally buy, does look quality. Looking at the other options they have:

1. Royale, which as the name suggest has a playing card design. I’m sure this will appeal to some but not my thing personally.
2. Brushed Steel. This is more like it for me, a sleak looking clean design.
3. Bloom. This one has a whimsical, flowery type design. See #1.
4. Carbon Fibre. See #2.

So, something for everyone in terms of design and the actual quality and feel in the hand is very good, the branding is just about right so as not to be too in your face.

If you are coming up from a mini e cig type device or even looking for a product as a brand new vaper, don’t expect this to be the same size or even near to the same size as a cigarette.

V2 do have these size batteries but this product is aimed at those users who want something that looks different and has a little more battery life.

Which brings me onto the battery capacity. The EX has a decent 280 mah capacity operating at 4.2 volts which pushes enough power to the cartomisers to help with the decent vapour production.

The other difference with this battery is the 5 ‘dot’ lights at the end of the battery that indicate the remaining charge.

This is kind of a good feature, I say kind of because you can only see the lights when you take a drag, I suggest using one eye for this otherwise you may go cross eyed!

The EX Sleeve

The other component of the EX is the sleeve that is designed to fit over your cartomiser, this is kept firmly in place with the rubber gaskets supplied. While this isn’t an essential piece of kit for a good vape it does lend itself to the overall design keeping it looking slick. The other thing the sleeve offers is a slightly tighter draw if this is what you prefer.

The EX Blank mini tank is also a good option to use with the EX Series battery, you won’t be able to use the sleeve with the tank but it offers an extra option and a good one at that.

As of today, the new Vapour2 EX Series kit also comes with the refillable V2 cartridges that have a window in so you can see your level of e-liquid. This cartridge offers very good flavour and vapour production when paired with the Vapour2 Platinum e-liquids.

Build Quality & Design

I am in the UK and had never heard of White Cloud so had a good nose around online and they appear to be the “go-to” company for beginners for cig-a-like and similar easy to use starter devices.

However White Cloud have a very loyal fan base who are grateful for their products helping them quit the stinkies – and the word on the net is that the company is very well loved by many.

Converting the price of 59.95 dollar to UK pound shocked me a bit. This is pretty expensive – way more than you would pay for a more advanced device. But the cartridge prices are reasonable. So for this to have the White Cloud logo and be part of their range it does appear that people are happy to pay this – plus after all it’s still cheaper than smoking.

The mouthpiece is the same lovely rubber as the disposable version – the Fling Wide Mini.

The cartridge does however feel a bit “wobbly” when attached to the battery – you worry it will fall off – which it doesn’t as it is held together magnetically.

This is quite a lot bigger than the disposable version but it is worth it to be able to recharge the battery.

There are 6 different flavour cartridges with 6 different nicotine strengths.

The flavours are:

• Regular : “Perfectly bold and mildly sweet, White Cloud’s Regular tobacco flavor has been satisfying vapers for years. The bold taste of tobacco and subtly sweet undertones will keep you puffing all day long.”

• Espresso : “Chock-full of the robust taste of fresh coffee beans, White Cloud’s Espresso e-cig flavor will keep your coffee cravings at bay all day without keeping you up all night.” (I also had this flavour in the disposables I reviewed – and it was just like very strong coffee- pretty accurate!)

How Does the White Cloud ZFG Starter Kit Perform?

Basic operation

There were no instructions in the box sadly so I just plugged a battery into the USB charger and into the port of my PC – one battery lit up and the other didn’t? After trial and error it appears the light on the tip of the battery is lit when charging and turns off when fully charged.

Just place the charger next to the battery connector and the magnetic force pulls them together you have to get them the correct way around – you can’t install them the incorrect way around.Insert the other end into a suitable USB outlet and leave to charge until the light extinguishes.

How To Change the Cartridge

The cartridge is secured to the battery magnetically.

It will only fit one way around as there are grooves in the connector.

• • Simply pull the old cartridge away from the battery – a slight magnetic resistance is felt but nothing too powerful and easily pull apart.
  • Attach the new cartridge to the battery by simply lining them up and allowing them to connect with the magnet.

Flavour & Cloud Production

I was supplied with 2 cartridges in 1.6% nicotine strength and Cinnamon infused flavour.

White Cloud website states they are not refillable.

The nicotine strengths listed were unusual compared to those on offer in the UK. By law (because of the TPD regulations) we are only permitted to be supplied with a maximum nicotine strength of 20mg (2.0 mg/ml).

The White Cloud cartridges are 2.5ml capacity with nicotine strength of up to 5.4% (Equivalent to 54mg or 5.4mg/ml in the UK). Which is HIGH!

On their website the 5.4% strength is aimed at people who smoke 2+ packs a day. In the UK a pack is equivalent to 20 cigarettes? I would normally recommend smokers who start vaping try between 1.2-1.8mg/ml strength and then adjust as required. So this 5.4% seems very high!

The airflow is a perfect MTL(Mouth to Lung) airflow. There is a little airflow hole between the cartridge and battery. The airflow is slightly tighter than the disposable version but to me still great.

As I found with the disposable version of this they are really really close sensation to smoking it’s a lovely feeling. The mouthpiece is smooth soft rubber, the end lights up when you inhale.

This is an automatic device – no buttons or switches you simply inhale and the sensor triggers the battery to deliver the vapour. The sensor responds immediately as you inhale – no lag or sucking until your face turns purple.

One thing to check when you inhale is that your hand doesnt block the airflow hole as you might turn purple then!

It has a very quiet hiss which does continue for a second after you stop inhaling.

Sadly the Cinnamon flavour isn’t for me – I would love this with the White Cloud Bora Bora or Vanilla flavour – which I had in the disposable versions. However taste is a personal thing and this does give out a strong good flavour – if you like Cinnamon. The flavour was extremely accurate to the point I even felt it make my tongue go a bit dry like real cinnamon does!

What I Like

This is so easy to use and a lovely smoking sensation.

What I Dislike

No instructions in the box so I was scratching my head a bit trying to work out which battery was charged and which wasn’t?

Final Review Verdict

I didn’t use this as much as I did the disposables as the cinnamon flavour really wasn’t for me. But it performs wonderfully and I enjoyed the sensation. In a different flavour I would be using this as much as the disposable versions I had. But the flavour was as described and strong without being overpowering.

The “Mom” test – could I give this device to my (cig-a-like using) mom to use? Definitely this is close to the devices she is already using but with a better performance and taste.

The ratings in my review represent this device in comparison with other starter mini E-Cig devices – not big cloud chasing advanced sub ohm equipment.

If you like the White Cloud E-liquid flavours but want a more advanced device – you can buy the liquids on their own and use in your own equipment.

My introductions so far to the White Cloud range of products is very positive – everything worked as expected and tasted as described.

The OK-ecig range of e cigarettes is very much targeted towards the beginner end of the vape market.

You may have seen them on the high street as they are stocked in Asda up and down the country.

Compared to the best vape pen type e cigarettes their are very few brands around at this point that produce a ‘cig-a-like’ e cig. Vapour2 e cigs and Magnum Snaps are the other companies that produce quality devices of this type.

If you have landed on this page then you are likely considering this kind of device for your first e cigarette experience and want to know a little more about it.

What I’ve been trying out for review this time around is the OK E Cigarette starter kit. I also received a spare, slightly bigger, battery to use with the kit.

Lets learn a little more…

As always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Inside the Box

The OK E Cigarette starter kit comes in a cigarette carton style packaging, inside this is we have:

• Plastic, flip top carry case
• 1 X 180Mah rechargeable Battery (known as a K1)
• 2 X Refill Cartridge (Tobacco Flavour)
• 1 X USB Charger

Design and Build Quality

The OK Ecig kit is a very simple affair. The e cigarette itself has been designed to resemble a cigarette as much as can be and they have done a good job of it.

The main reason for designing the e cig this way is to help with the familiarity when switching from cigarettes. When I first made the switch it was something that I initially looked for in the e cig I was choosing.

Battery

The battery itself has slightly raised rings from top to bottom, with the small 180mAh battery having a glowing red tip that is activated when in use. The longer 280mAh glows blue.

It feels quality to touch, very solid, yet still lightweight.

The battery has the actual domain name (ok-ecig.com) printed on the side and the required WEEE & CE Labels that indicate the device is in compliance with necessary EU Legislation.

While I can see why the domain name would be printed on the battery I can’t help but think the ‘OK’ logo would have been better used here as the branding is good.

Refill Cartridges/Cartomisers

The refill cartridges/cartomisers come in two colours. Tan and white. The tan has been designed to match a tobacco filter and the white represents menthol. Again in keeping with a traditional cigarette.

Depending on the strength of refill cartridge you choose they are marked either M, H or E.

These stand for the following:

• M = medium strength nicotine – 12mg
• H = High strength nicotine – 18mg
• E = Extra High strength nicotine – 20mg

The identifiers, while it may only seem like a small thing, is actually a very important one.

The number of cig-a-likes I have reviewed over the years that had zero information on the refills themselves wasn’t even funny!

This way you know what you are using if you have different nicotine strengths.

Putting the cartomiser and battery together doesn’t get any easier. Simply remove the refill cartomiser from the packaging, remove the ‘bugs’ on either end of the cartridge and screw onto the battery.

You are then ready to go (as long as your battery is charged and has power).

So..Not much else that can be said on the design and quality. The e-cigarette feels quality in the hand and has a resemblance of a tobacco cigarette.

How Does the OK E Cig Kit Perform?

As touched on earlier the e cig is the most easy type of e cigarette to use, bar none.

While most vape pen type e cigarettes are ‘manual’ (you have to press a button before you inhale) this cig-a-like is ‘automatic’, meaning all you have to do is simply take a drag/draw to activate.

I said it was easy right?!

The cartomisers I got in my kit were the Meduim/12mg and High/18mg.

This is a good move by OK E Cigs.

As a new vaper you need a nicotine strength that is going to satisfy you enough so you don’t feel the need to move back onto tobacco.

12mg and 18mg are two of the most popular strengths. Rather than including just the one you get to test both out to see what’s the best fit for you.

Once you have your preferred strength simply pop back on their website and order your replacement refills.

If you are a very heavy smoker and you don’t feel the 18mg is enough, you can opt for 20mg strength. Currently the highest available.

I also received two extra packs that included the Menthol flavour.

How to vape

Before I get into how it performs I want to explain how to vape. I know… It sounds daft but the action of vaping is different to smoking a cigarette.

When you smoke a cigarette you would normally take quicker, sharper draws. Not so with an e cigarette. When taking a draw on an e cig it needs to be a longer, softer draw.

If you try both styles with your new e cig you should immediately see what I mean!

Performance

When taking a drag the e cig was very responsive (which is a good thing). By this I mean as soon as you take a draw you can hear the coils inside the cartomiser heating up which in turn, turns the e-liquid into the vapour you inhale/exhale.

The vapour that is produced is very good considering the size of the e cig. Yeah… it’s not going to be the same as an e cig that uses a refillable tank but good all the same.

The throat hit was OK with the 12mg (Medium) strength refill but suited me perfectly. For a stronger throat hit you can use a higher nicotine strength.

Battery Life

OK.. It’s safe to say the battery life on these types of e cigs aren’t going to win any awards. That’s just the nature of the beast when it comes to using cig-a-likes unfortunately. They don’t last very long at all.

In the standard starter kit you will get 1 standard 180 mAh battery (The Higher the mAh the longer the battery life). As a moderate vaper I was getting around 1.5-2 hours.

OK-Ecig do also have a larger 280 mAh (can be bought separately) that will extend life  a touch but what I would highly recommend you do is buy a spare battery.

In fact, I would say it’s a must to have at least 2 batteries, if possible try and have 3 or 4 spares.

Trust me on this… You don’t want to be out and about and be caught out with your battery running out of power.

Not only that but when you’re charging your battery you will have nothing to use, so at least 2 batteries used in rotation just makes sense.

If you are not sure you will like the kit then buy the spare batteries after you have had a chance to test. But buy them as soon as you’ve made up your mind!

I would also recommend the larger 280 mAh K2 batteries as one of your spares as you will get more vape time.

You can buy spare K1 batteries (68mm in length) for just £3 and the K2 (81mm length) for just £5. Very good value all round.

It would be nice to see a portable charger (PCC) introduced to the OK-Ecig range as other cig-a-like brands have but at the time of writing OK Cigs don’t have one.

They do supply a case but this is simply for carrying around and keeping your e cig gear in one place.

Flavour

As touched on previously, OK-Ecig have just two flavours available. Tobacco and Menthol.

Tobacco

Now, it has to be said, apart from Black Note e liquid, I haven’t yet found a tobacco e-liquid flavour that I actually like.

It also has to be said, that when I started vaping 7 years ago I quickly moved from tobacco to other flavours so have been vaping fruit and dessert based eliquids the majority of that time.

It’s not dissimilar to other cig-a-like style e cig tobacco flavours that I have tried in the past. I don’t personally like it but I can see that for those of you that still smoke and are coming to vaping for the first time it will do the trick nicely.

It does taste like a cigarette and to be honest that’s why I personally don’t like it! But that’s a good thing for you! I hope that makes sense

Menthol

Now this was much more palatable for me! I used to like a menthol smoke every now and then (in my smoking days) and this is a very good version.

Not too strong and it leaves a very nice, refreshing feeling lingering in the mouth afterwards. If you like your menthol vapes I’m sure you would get on well with this.

Menthol is also available in zero nicotine.

You will know when the cartomiser needs replacing as the flavour will drop off and you may even get a slightly burnt flavour coming through.

Refill cartomisers come in packs of 5. At the time of writing they are priced at a very reasonable £6 per pack. If you don’t mind buying in bulk to save a few quid then OK E Cig offer various bulk discounts with spare batteries thrown in.

Charging the OK E Cigarette

Charging is super simple…. can you see a pattern here?

• Simply remove the cartomiser/refill.
• Screw the battery into the USB charger
• Place the charger into a USB source, in my case my laptop
• You can also buy a mains adapter if you don’t have a USB source to charge from. If you want to use another adaptor just be sure it is 1Amp/5V output.
• The light will be on when charging
• When fully charged (around 2-3 hours on a depleted battery) the light will go off

Final Review Verdict

The OK E-Cig cig-a-like isn’t something I would personally use but I’m not the target market.

The e cig performs well, the refill flavours are good for those making the switch and at £6 delivered for the kit it’s very good value indeed.

Would I recommend this for new vapers? If you are specifically looking for a small e cigarette that resembles a cigarette then yes.

But, if you aren’t so bothered about having an e cig that looks like a cigarette then I would say start with a vape pen style e cig.

JacVapour V3i Starter Kit Review

Jacvapour have a few core e cigarette kits available which include the previously reviewed Series S, Series B Tilt, Series B DNA75. All offer something different depending on how customisable you want your e cigarette to be.

For this review we will be taking a look at the entry level Jacvapour V3i Basic kit. This will be the preferred choice for those brnad new to vaping or want a discreet e-cigarette.

The kit, like many others, comes in a nice presentation box with all the instructions including a quick start guide and step by step instructions on how to use the kit.

How Does The V3i E Cig Perform?

The battery is one of the main components, with a poor battery life the whole e cigarette will fail.

I received 2 batteries in my Jacvapour starter kit, both the black rubberised V3i automatic batteries. One measuring 55mm and the other slightly longer at 65mm. Again, great look and feel to the batteries with the soft touch coating great in the hand.

They are a good size as well for those wanting to keep their electronic cigarette as near to the real thing as possible.

With everything looking great I was pretty relieved when it came to taking a drag, the draw was smooth and I didn’t need to take any ‘primer drags’ to get it producing a good vapour.

If the battery was not up to scratch I would have been gutted but it’s spot on.

The life, as with all ‘cig-a-like’ batteries isn’t going to be the best but for what it is works fine. I was managing a few hours of moderate vaping.

One thing I will say is, if budget allows be sure to get a kit with two V3i batteries or purchase an extra one on the product page. It is good practice to have batteries in rotation. You can then add further batteries that Jacvapour sell separately.

Vapour / Flavour

Another very important part in the overall product is the flavour and the vapour that the cartomisers produce.

I was supplied with a pack of their tobacco flavoured carts.

Now for me these are stronger than my normal nicotine strength, I normally use a low 6mg or medium 12mg strength.

They do have also have an 18mg available.

The flavour of all e liquids is dependent on each individual but for me the tobacco flavour was good, not too far off the real thing. The vapour volume was very good as well producing a good amount that was up there with Vapour2 Cigs

One area where the Jacvapour cartridges stand out above the other e cigs reviewed however, is that they are refillable, this is a great feature as you can reduce your costs further by buying e liquid rather than just disposing of your carts once they run out.

E-Liquid is available on their website (check some of the Jacvapour e-liquid reviews out here) in both PG (Propylene Glycol), VG (Vegetable Glycol) form and a mix of the two.

The difference is not only in the ingredients, PG e-liquid is the standard liquid that you will find in the majority of the big brands out there. It produces a bigger throat hit, a touch more flavour and slightly less vapour but can last longer.

VG is an alternative to the PG and produces more vapour, but less throat hit. It’s a good alternative for those that may have allergies to PG.

These again give you an added option to suit your needs.

Recently Jacvapour have released their UK made range of e-liquids which are fantastic. I have a number of favourites from this range but the Real Tobacco Lite along with Banana Milkshake and Toffee are some of my personal picks.

The only real negative there is regarding the cartomisers is that the pre-filled flavours available to buy immediately with the kit are limited to Tobacco and Menthol. Although it has to be said that’s where 95% of users switching from smoking will start.

There are however loads of other pre-filled cartomiser flavours and e-liquids available to buy separately.

For anybody that has seen the progression of electronic cigarettes over in the USA you will most likely have heard of Blu e Cigs.

What Is The Best E Cig Starter kit In The UK, Europe, USA & Beyond?

Not only one of the biggest e cig brands in the States they were also one of the first to be acquired by a major tobacco company, in this case Lorillard.

With the US Blu E Cig acquisition proving a success for Lorillard they turned their attention to the UK/EU e cig market late in 2013 with SKYCIG the target.

This brings us to today, with SKYCIG no more and Blu taking it’s place and bringing along with it a new slicker marketing message and product.

The question is, is it really an improvement on SKY Cig and more importantly for current SKYCIG customers “can I use Blu Cig refills with Sky Cig hardware?” Lets find out with our Blu e Cig review! (Although the answer to the last question is yes for those in a rush).

Packaging

The presentation box I have to say does look good from the outer packaging to the inner. For this review I purchased the blu Premium Kit. Inside is the following:

• 2 x 145 mAh batteries
• 1 x PCC
• 5 x Menthol Cartomisers 18mg (Choice of Tobacco or Menthol)
• USB Charger

Battery/Responsiveness

The Blu e Cig batteries are, from what I can tell, the same as SKYCIG batteries bar the actual design. Blu have taken on their black design which works well throughout the whole product from the cartomisers to the PCC. The battery itself feels quality and the overall feel in the hand is good.

The capacity of the battery is rated at 145 mAh, for those not too sure what this means as a general rule of thumb 100 mAh = 1 hour of use, that is practical use. This is where cig-a-like batteries can cause users issues due to the limited battery life.

For me as a moderate vaper I was getting around 1.5 hours. Not a great battery life by any means but that is the nature of the beast when it comes to most cig-a-like electronic cigarettes. Heavy smokers making the switch may struggle with this.

If you are adamant a mini e cig is where you want to start (and there is nothing wrong with this) then just prepare yourself for a short battery life. There is one thing that does help with this though and that is the PCC.

PCC

The PCC for those that don’t know stands for Portable Charging Case. This does go some way to helping alleviate the poor battery life and one that other brands such as Jacvapour supply. The case itself is a power point that will charge upto four batteries before it needs re-charging itself. So rotating the two batteries might just about see you through a working day. The case also has space for three cartomisers and a fully made up e cig (cartomiser + battery).

The case itself is definitely one of the better looking PCC’s I have come across and is more slim lined than the SKYCIG Freedom case it has replaced. It is also finished with a rubberised coating that is smooth in the hand as well as allowing for an easy glide in and out of the pocket.

Charging a battery is easy to do, simply place the battery in the charging slot and close the lid. A light on the side labelled ‘BATT’ will illuminate, when a charge is complete this will stop. Charging the PCC is done via the USB cable.

Battery Replacements

There will of course be a time when new batteries are needed, this according to Blu Cig is around 250-300 cycles (charges). The batteries can be purchased separately.

Overall – The batteries and PCC really do look the part, the look and design of the PCC is a step up from the SKYCIG offering. However, don’t expect the batteries to last all day, they won’t. They are mini e cigs which means mini batteries! The PCC does help with this but heavy smokers making the switch could find the battery life an issue in the long run.

Vapour/Flavour

There is limited choice when it comes to choosing flavours and nicotine strengths with a starter kit. Take your pick, 3 x Tobacco 18mg or 3 x Menthol 18mg. That’s it.

I see that Blu are trying to take the confusion out of the buying process for new users but a bit more selection would be good to see initially although there are a number of refill flavours available to buy separately.

Better yet a mixed pack of flavours would be a great option to have.

I opted for the Menthol which whilst not being the best menthol cartomiser I have tried it certainly wasn’t bad. The inhale provides an icy hit on the back of the throat and the exhale leaves a cool minty aftertaste in the mouth. If I was a new e cig user I don’t think I would be disappointed with the flavour.

One little tip when vaping the Blu e Cig cartomisers (and most other e cigs for that matter), don’t take short sharp drags as you may do with a cigarette. E cigs require a slower, longer draw of around 3-4 seconds to get a decent vapour volume and flavour coming through. Taking short sharp drags will leave you disappointed for sure as it will produce little vapour volume. You basically need to give the battery time to heat up the e-liquid in the cartomiser.

Will My SKYCIG Refils Work With The Blu Cig batteries and Vice Versa?.

In short yes they will. The Blu Cig cartomisers will work with Sky Cig batteries and the SKYCIG cartomisers will work with the Blu e Cig batteries so if you have left over Skycig product it is still compatible, simply move over to Blu when you need replacements.

Buying Blu Cig Refills

As mentioned before there are more flavour options (8 to be exact) when buying the refills separately. Choose from 3 Tobacco e juice flavours, Menthol, Cherry, Vanilla, NRG and Cinnamon. Refills come in packs of three with reductions for bulk buys of 5 packs or more.

I have to say compared to other e cigarette brands out there these refills are on the expensive side considering only 3 cartomisers are in each pack.

The majority of brands out there supply 5 in a pack. I suppose you would need look at the cost comparison to smoking and of course not forgetting the price you put on other benefits of vaping vs smoking.

Overall – The Menthol flavour was decent. For current Skycig users the refills are compatible with Blu batteries. The only real downside here is the cartomiser refill prices that are a touch more expensive than other brands out there.

Returns/Warranty

Blu e Cig do offer a ’30-day Money Back Promise’ on both the ‘Starter Kit and the ‘Premium Kit’ even if you have used it. Take note though, there is a restocking fee so keep this in mind if a return may be a possibility prior to buying. Summary

The Blu Premium Kit is without doubt a well designed, solid product with the main improvements coming in the form of the PCC. While it may be a quality product you will need to decide if the small cig-a-like e cigs such as this are going to be right for you, the main drawback is the battery life.
