The Yosta Ypod Mini is a new weeny pod mod system from Yosta.

ypod mini main image

I have reviewed a lot of Yosta products in the past and found their mods in particular such as the Livepor 230 to be way better than their tiny price would suggest!

The Ypod mini is a much smaller version of their recent Ypod device which I loved.

ypod ypod mini
L-R Ypod and Ypod Mini

This is barely bigger than a ciggie and to be honest you look at it and don’t expect much performance! Will this little device surprise me?

Anyway spec wise – the specs really are down to the size so you only get a tiny 310mAh battery and a 1ml capacity pod. However when you consider devices such as the Suorin Drop only has a 300mAh battery yet is way bigger than the Ypod Mini!

The pods come with coils already installed and you discard the pod when the coil needs changing. You can choose from a 1.3ohm pod – mainly for high nicotine or nic salt e-liquid or the 1.5ohm pod which Yosta say is best for CBD E-liquid. Both pods have ceramic coil heating elements.ypod mini colours

There are 5 colours available – Stainless Steel, Black, Gunmetal, Blue and Rainbow.

As always I will report back honestly on my findings on the device I have – thank you to Yosta for sending this for review.

What’s In The Box

  • Yosta Ypod Mini device
  • Pod – 1.3ohm ceramic version
  • E-liquid bottle
  • Spare pod plugs
  • USB cable
  • Manual

ypod mini contents

Features

  • Size: 86x8x14mm
  • E-liquid Capacity: 1ml
  • Battery: 310mAh (internal)
  • Material : Stainless steel
  • Resistance: 1.5ohm (Ceramic – for CBD) or 1.3ohm (Ceramic for Nic Salt)
  • Battery level indicator

Build Quality & Design

I received the Yosta Ypod Mini Kit in the Stainless Steel colour.

ypod mini size comparison pen

It is well packaged and pretty decent instructions. You do get some spare refill port plugs and an e-liquid bottle… more about that later on!

Main Device

This has a brushed silver finish and is very pretty to be honest.ypod mini size side

It is tiny – when you see the size comparison to a standard ball pen you can see how thin this device really is.ypod mini front view

It has an elongated oval shape and the front of the device has the Ypod Mini logo which seems to be etched into the metal and an LED indicator light.ypod mini side in fingers

The rear of the device has the Yosta logo and required legal logos.ypod mini rear view

On the base is the USB charge port which worked perfectly.ypod mini bottom view

The pod has a diamond shape design when it fits into the battery and the cut outs on the battery fit this perfectly. I have no wobbles from the pod and it clicks in firmly when installed. It can be a bit hard to grip to remove the pod though at times.ypod mini pod shape

Pod Design

The pod is tiny, however it has a lovely mouthpiece which seems to fit effortlessly in your mouth.ypod mini pod installed

Also although tinted the e-liquid level is really easy to see.

This has the tiniest fill port I have ever seen. Pretty obvious really when you see the size of the device and pod I suppose.ypod mini fill port

Anyway in order to try and stop people complaining Yosta have included a small refill bottle with an almost needle sized nozzle.

I didn’t use the bottle as I use 10ml Nic salt e-liquid – decanting that first into the little bottle and then refilling the pod was a bit annoying to be honest.

So I used the nozzle already installed on my 10ml bottle – but do be warned this is neither easy and some bottles still might not fit.ypod mini filling

Set-up Guide

To get started you will need to fill and charge the device – we tell you how below!

Basic operation

  • To vape = simply inhale – this has an automatic sensor
  • Battery capacity remaining = 10 flashes when battery voltage below 3.3V.

Protections

  • Fire cut off = 5 seconds and 2 flashes of the LED before the fire cuts off (I found mine was nearer 7 seconds?).
  • Low voltage = 10 flashes of the LED and device shuts down

How To Fill With E-liquid

  • Pull the pod out of the device.
  • Turn the pod over and remove the tiny rubber plug from the fill port. Keep this very safe as it is not attached and easy to loose.ypod mini fill plug
  • Using a small nozzle bottle squeeze e-liquid into the filling port. You can see the liquid level through the side of the pod.ypod mini fill plug installation
  • Replace the fill port plug and make sure it is pressed in fully. It will still stand a bit proud of the base.ypod mini plug installed
  • Install the pod back into the battery and leave to stand for 5-10 mins before vaping.

How To Change The Pod

  • The pod simply pulls out of the device – grip firmly and pull.
  • Prepare a new pod by filling with e-liquid.ypod mini pod removed
  • Push the pod into the battery component. It doesn’t matter which way around you install this as it will work either way.
  • You will hear a click when the pod is correctly installed.
  • If this is a new pod once filled leave to stand for 5-10 mins for the e-liquid to be fully absorbed before vaping or you could damage the pod.

How To Charge The Battery

  • Using the included USB cable install the small end into the USB port on the device.
  • Install the large USB connector into a suitable USB outlet.ypod mini charging
  • The LED will go out when the device is fully charged.

How Does the Yosta Ypod Mini Kit Perform?

This is a super simple device to vape on – when all set up you just inhale and vape!

There is no fire button or adjustments to contend with at all.

I used a 50/50 VG/PG E-liquid – Yosta do not state the best VG/PG proportions to use sadly. We tell you all about the terms VG and PG in our Guide to E-liquid.

Also this device is best for higher nicotine or nic salt e-liquid. So my liquid of choice was the Apollo Nic Salt Tobacco flavour with 20mg of Nicotine strength.

Now when you look at this device you would be forgiven for not really expecting much from it performance wise.

I was right about some things – the flavour and throat hit isn’t really there to be honest. Oh and it is noisy when you inhale – like a whistle sound and you cannot adjust the airflow at all.

However when you exhale you are then very shocked with the plume of vapour you are exhaling! Where did that come from!

Sadly also I kept getting dry hits – if I inhaled too long or too frequently. It would appear that this pod is struggling to keep up with wicking. I only used 50/50 e-liquid too so it shouldn’t be struggling.

The kit only includes a 1.3ohm Ceramic pod so I couldn’t even try another pod to see if I got the same problem.

Battery Life

I am unable to report back on this as using this frequently is giving me so many dry hits I am struggling to use it. I am picking up other devices instead.

Pros

  • Tiny and super light
  • Easy to see e-liquid level
  • Great quality and no wobbles
  • Surprising amount of vapour!
  • Battery capacity is decent when you see the size of this!
  • E-liquid consumption is very economical

Cons

  • Pod filling is fiddly
  • Noisy operation
  • Have to replace whole pod – can’t just change the coils
  • Not much flavour or throat hit
  • So many dry hits with long inhales or frequent vapes.
  • No battery indicator – only flashes when the device is about to shut down from low voltage.
  • Only 1 pod included in kit
  • Might not be able to buy replacement pods easily – I am struggling to get hold of the Cotton Pods for the Original Ypod sadly.

Final Review Verdict

So what do I think? Sorry Yosta this is a dud.

This doesn’t have the flavour or throat hit the Original Ypod device gave me.

However this is tiny, light and the vapour you exhale will take you by surprise. But I am getting loads of dry hits despite only using 50/50 e-liquid – in my opinion the pod is struggling to even wick thin e-liquid? Also only having 1 pod in the kit means I am unable to check if I just had a rogue pod?

Even without dry hits I am trying to think of places where I would choose this device above things like the Ypod or the Smok Nord and to be honest I would leave this at home and take those instead.

The Yosta Livepor 100W Mod is a new release in the popular Livepor mod range.

livepor 100W main imageI have loved the Livepor 200W and the Livepor 230W and our Kev found the triple battery Livepor 256 to be a great performer too.

The Livepor range are generally low price vape mods which are well built and perform way better than their inexpensive price tag would lead you to believe.

The Livepor 100W is right up to date with the ability to use a single 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery. With the 21700 battery installed the maximum output is 100W. It may be less with the other battery types.

As you can see from the Robot eyes on the front this design was inspired by the Transformer toys and it really does look the part when it lights up.yosta livepor 100w mod black

Later models you can actually turn the LEDs off completely but the early models like mine this option was not included. I have been told by a rep from Yosta all models shipped from now on will have that ability.

There are 4 colours available – Rainbow, Black, Light Grey and Tri-colour.Livepor 100 colours

Thank you to Yosta for sending this over for review. I will report back honestly on my findings of the device in my possession.

Livepor 100 specs

Build Quality & Design

I received the Yosta Livepor 100W in the black version.livepor 100 front view

I was quite surprised to find this had a metal body as the last few Yosta mods I have reviewed were lightweight plastic materials.livepor 100 size comparison pen

The metal body of this instantly feels like quality and the size of this is absolutely spot on.

The packaging was great and the little instruction leaflet was pretty good too!

Top Of Mod and 510 Connection

Starting at the top of the mod is the 510 connector. This is a plate held into the mod body with 2 visible screws. There are another 2 screws on the other side of the top face.livepor 100w top view

The width of the mod is 25mm. I have tried several tanks on here, at almost 28mm including airflow ring the Freemax Mesh Pro did overhang a lot.livepor 100 freemax mesh pro

However the Fireluke Mesh tank at 24mm looked great on here.livepor 100 fireluke mesh

I also have been using the Eleaf Melo 4 tank which is only 22mm diameter and that gives a great little set up.livepor 100 melo 4

The 510 plate does stand slightly above the top of the mod. I had no issues with the Melo 4 and Mesh Pro tanks. However the Fireluke Mesh seemed to have about 1mm gap between the bottom of the tank and the mod. Not a deal breaker but might be enough to annoy some people.fireluke mesh livepor 100 gap

Battery Compartment

The battery is accessed by pulling off the rear battery cover. This is also made of metal, it does not rattle or wobble and fits perfectly.livepor 100 rear view

Inside the battery compartment things are very tidy and good quality. The battery compartment is kind of lined with a white clear plastic.

livepor 100 battery coverThe battery polarity symbols are on this plastic but they are the same colour. Which can make them a bit hard to see.livepor 100 battery polarity markings

The battery contacts are good quality with a spring loaded disc type at the bottom. Much better than the contacts on the Livepor 200W.livepor 100 battery tray

Mod Body

On the sides of the mod are the LED strips which light up according to your settings.livepor 100 LEDs

On the front of the mod are the LED “Eyes” which surround a great size fire button. The button is clicky and super responsive.livepor 100 eyes

Below the fire button is the beautiful screen. This is a colour screen, which is clear and bright and the different parameters all have different colours. This screen is excellent.livepor 100w screen

Below the screen are the up and down adjustment buttons and the USB port.livepor 100 black front view

The base of the mod has some great battery vents, plus the mod name and the required legal symbols.livepor 100w bottom view

All in all this feels like a really well made and well designed bit of kit!

Livepor 100W Set-up Guide

To get started you will need to install a charged battery into the device, attach a suitable tank and set it up to your preference!

Basic operation

livepor 100W display

  • Turn on = 5 clicks of the fire button.
  • Turn off (sleep) = 5 clicks of the fire button. This is also locked and the screen will go off but it is not fully switched off.
  • Lock / Unlock = as stated above pressing the fire button rapidly 5 times when the mod it turned on will send it to sleep and lock the device. To unlock do 5 more clicks.
  • Adjustments = use the up and down adjustment buttons.
  • Menu = press the fire button 3 times to enter the menu.
  • Power mode selection = press the fire button 3 times and use the adjustment buttons to scroll through the options – “Power” (VW), “Ni200” / “SS316” / “Ti” (Temperature Control) and Bypass. Click the fire button to confirm the selection.
  • CLRP = Clear puff counter – enter the menu and use the adjustment buttons until CLRP comes up and press the fire button to confirm.
  • Lock adjustment buttons = press the up and down adjustment buttons at the same time. You can still use the fire button but adjustments will be locked.

LED Controls

As mentioned above my device was one of the early releases and there was no way of turning off the LED lights.

The lights when turned on will cycle through the 3 colours after the fire button is pressed, battery inserted or when the mod is turned on.

I was told new models will be shipped out with a menu option to turn off the LED lights.livepor 100w turn off led

Protections

  • No atomiser – mod will not fire until an atomiser is installed.
  • Over 10 second fire cut off – if the fire button is held down over 10 seconds the fire will cut off to prevent damage.
  • Overheat and overload – when the chip temperature exceeds 85°C the screen will display “Too Hot”.
  • Battery low – below 3.3V the mod will not fire and a warning displayed on the screen.
  • Short circuit – if a short circuit occurs the screen will display “Atomiser short”.
  • Reverse polarity – the mod will not turn on if the battery is inserted incorrectly.

How To Install The Battery

This mod uses a single removable battery.

It is recommended to use an external good brand charger to charge the battery before you install it into the mod. Also remove the battery for charging. We tell you more about Battery Safety in our Guide.

I did test the USB port for charging and it did work – it isn’t recommended to do this but handy if you are caught out without a charger.

  • The back panel of the mod pulls off. It is held by magnets so there will be a slight resistance.livepor 100w battery cover removed
  • Remove battery by pulling it out if there is one installed.
  • For 20700 / 21700 batteries simply follow the polarity markings and install the battery at the bottom contact first as this is spring loaded.livepor 100 21700
  • If using a 18650 battery install the adaptor onto the battery and then as above install according to polarity.livepor 100 18650
  • Replace the rear cover – it will only go on one way around.

How Does the Yosta Livepor 100W Mod Perform?

One of the first things I noticed was this seems more powerful than I was expecting.

For instance the Eleaf Melo 4 tank with the Mesh coil I was using at 60W on other mods. On here I am down to 55W as it seemed to be kicking out more power.

Comparing the Livepor 100 to the Voopoo Alpha One mod at 55W I felt the Livepor was slightly more powerful? To me 58W on the Voopoo felt like 55W on the Livepor?

Plus the fire on the Livepor felt quicker! It responds to the fire button press very quickly. Yosta do boast that this has a firing speed of less than 0.01 seconds. I have no idea if this is correct but it seems very responsive.

I haven’t had a single issue using this mod in the last few weeks, it has been reliable, super responsive and a joy to use!

Battery Life

The battery life will vary according to the battery type used and your own vaping habits and settings.

Sadly I haven’t got a 20700 battery so was unable to test the device with that.

Also bear in mind on my device I am unable to turn off the LED lights so these may drain the battery quicker than if they were turned off.

As I guide – vaping regularly – I got the following using a 0.15ohm mesh coil at 55W:

  • 21700 (Vapcell – 3750mAh) – 8.5 Hours – 483 Puffs
  • 18650 (Samsung 25R – 2500mAh) – 7.5 Hours – 331 puffs

Pros

  • Feels like a high quality device in the hand
  • Excellent clear screen
  • Buttons are super responsive
  • No rattles and the battery cover is firm
  • Ability to use 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery
  • Perfect weight and size
  • Feels very powerful – with me having to actually lower the power with tanks I use on other mods.
  • Bargain price for an expensive feeling mod
  • Good battery life

Cons

  • Some tanks leave a gap between the base of the tank and the mod.
  • Battery polarity markings a bit difficult to see in some lights.
  • The Robot-y design might not be to everyone’s taste – but the black version is more sensible and you can turn the LEDs off.

Final Review Verdict

I have found myself really enjoying using the Yosta Livepor 100W Mod.

I generally favour a single battery mod especially when you can use a 21700 battery in it!

This feels great in the hand – almost a perfect size and weight – it doesn’t feel cheap but it doesn’t feel like carrying a brick around either.

I dropped a mark because of the weird 510 connection plate which can cause a gap with some tanks – but for me personally it isn’t a deal breaker. But I can understand for some people this would be super irritating!

The power output from this little beast is very surprising and it feels so well made. You will also be surprised when you see the price this is fetching on some retailer sites. It seems to me like an absolute steal for the price!

The Yosta YPod kit is one of a new style of Pod Mods which have a screen.

Similar ideas include the Tesla TPod and the Asvape Touch.

Ypod main imageI have generally enjoyed most of the products I have reviewed from Yosta including the excellent Livepor 230 and the Livepor 200 so I hope this can live up to their standards.

The YPod is a compact little low power device designed for use with high nicotine or nicotine salt e-liquid. As the power can be lower for these high strengths the battery can be smaller hence the handy size.ypod poster

The battery in the YPod is 500mAh which is pretty decent for the size when you consider a lot of pod mods only have around 300mAh.

I know what you are thinking – without the screen this is doing a damn good impersonation of the Suorin Drop! In fact it feels exactly the same in the hand. However the Battery in the YPod is actually larger but the coil resistance and pod capacity are both the same.

On the front of the body is a 0.49in screen which displays the puff count and battery power remaining.

The pod part is where you add your own e-liquid and where the heating element lives.ypod pods

You can choose between two types of pod – both have the same coil resistance however the wicking material can be either Cotton or Ceramic.

There are no buttons or adjustments to make – the fire mechanism is triggered by inhaling so should be pretty simple to use!

You can choose from 3 colours – Light Grey, Black and 7-Colour.ypod colours

Right let’s get this little fella on the go.

Thank you to Yosta for sending this Free for the purpose of review and I will report back honestly on my findings on the device I have.

Build Quality & Design

I received the Yosta YPod Kit in the Black version.ypod size comparison with pen

Ooh yes it is a total fingerprint magnet – which I am sure will be obvious when you see my photos – so sorry I did try to keep wiping it…

This has a shiny zinc alloy body which has a decent weight and doesn’t feel at all cheap. Which when you check out the price for this little kit – it really is inexpensive – it will surprise you!ypod mouthpiece

The finish has held up well so far even rattling around in my handbag.

There is a 0.49in screen located on the front which sparks into life when you inhale, charge or remove/install a pod. This is nice and clear to read.ypod front view

When vaping the screen will display the vaping times in seconds of each vape. Then for a few seconds after the screen will display the puff counter and the battery capacity remaining in both a graphic and a digital %.ypod screen shot

At the base of the mod is the micro USB port for charging.ypod USB port

The rear of the device is pretty plain apart from the Yosta Logo and Branding and the required Legal logos. The front only has the “YPod” logo.ypod rear view

Pod

The pod (where the e-liquid and heating element lives) just pulls out of the mod with a slight resistance as there is a magnet to hold it in place. When you go to replace the pod you can feel the magnet pulling the pod in from about halfway installed.ypod pod removed

There is no rattle or movement from the pod in any direction and it hasn’t once fallen out.

You can only install the pod one way around – if it is the wrong way around it will not push fully into the battery. ypod mod top view

There is an airflow slot on the right side of the pod (looking from the screen side) and a small mouthpiece hole.

On the base of the mod is a removable plug which seals 2 filling ports.

ypod pod baseRemove the plug and for heaven’s sake don’t lose it as you don’t get a spare, it is small and not attached to the pod. Yep I am that person on their hands and knees with a torch under my desk trying to find the bloody thing.Ypod filling plug removed

The pod is a dark frosted black and almost impossible to see the liquid level without removing the pod, putting it in front of a light and shaking it about a bit.Ypod filling side view

The only way to tell the two different pod types apart is a sticker. Which you have to remove before use.. not great really. There needs to be either a stamped on indication or a colour code or something.ypod pods comparison

Set-up Guide

The device is supplied assembled but you will need to remove the pod and fill before you dare even take a test vape on it as it will fire up immediately. If you have no liquid in the pod this will burn the coil out and knacker up the only pod you get – so please don’t risk it!!

ypod componentsBasic operation

Really easy-peasy to use this is – it is draw activated – so when you inhale it will fire up and give you vapour!

I will also say the instructions, whilst brief, are pretty good too. They do not however guide you on what type of e-liquid would be best for this.

  • When a pod is correctly installed the screen will display “LOAD ACCESS” and go to the standard vaping screen showing battery level and puff count.Ypod load access screen
  • When a pod is removed the screen will display “CHECK ATOMISER”. This will also display if the pod is loose, incorrectly installed or has a fault.
  • Below 3.3V the screen will display “LOW BATTERY” so get and stick it on charge for a bit.
  • During charging the screen will display the battery capacity percentage and the word “CHG”.
  • If you inhale for longer than 8 seconds when vaping on this then the fire will cut off. This is to prevent overheating or if the fire sensor was triggered by a fault.
  • Puff counter resets once it has reached 999 puffs – you can’t manually change this.
  • When vaping the screen displays in seconds how long it has been firing.

How To Charge The Battery

  • Use the supplied USB cable and plug the small end into the port on the base of the mod.ypod charging
  • Plug the large end of the USB cable into a suitable USB outlet.
  • When charging the screen will display the percentage of charge and the word “CHG”. When finished charging the screen will go blank.ypod charging screen

I didn’t try to see if this was “Pass-Through” – i.e. vaping whilst charging – as the USB cable is very short and I am not going to sit on the flipping floor vaping. But this charges so quickly you are unlikely to need the pass-through function anyway.

How To Fill The Pod

ypod filling diagram

  • Pull the pod out from the device – it is only held in magnetically.
  • Turn the pod upside down and remove the filler plug.
  • Make sure to put that plug somewhere safe yeah!
  • Fill up the pod in either fill hole.Ypod refilling
  • I have used a large 60ml bottle and 10ml bottles and it has been fine. However you do need the nozzle to fit into the filling hole. Larger nozzles might be an issue.
  • Keep an eye (as well as you can through the dark pod) on the liquid level.
  • It will fill both sides of the pod from one hole but it can take a few seconds to even out. If you are a bit too eager it might splurge back out the hole.
  • Replace the filling plug and push down firmly so it is level with the base of the pod.
  • The pod will slide back into the battery. If it will not fully locate in the battery take it out and turn it around.

How To Replace The Pod

  • A new pod will come with a sticker on the electrical contacts on the base so remove this.ypod pods base view
  • Fill the pod as described above.
  • Slide the pod into the battery – again it can only go in one way around. If it is the incorrect way around it will not push in fully.

How Does the Yosta YPod Kit Perform?

Flavour & Cloud Production

For this device I have used my Apollo Nicotine Salt e-liquid which is 50%VG / 50%PG and 20mg Nicotine. Ideal for this kind of kit.ypod and apollo nic salt

If I had some more pods I would have tried a few thicker liquids in this but I only have one of each type of pod.

Sadly the instructions do not state the best e-liquid mixture type or strength to use in this kit. I would suggest no more than 60%VG – however I have not tried this – again as there is only one of each pod.

This pod device is designed for MTL (Mouth to Lung) style vapers. This is a style favoured by those wanting a quick nicotine hit like a cigarette. The airflow is more restricted and there will be more of a throat hit. These are not mega powerful “Cloudz Bro” devices. These are to be used with high nicotine strengths and for a quick blast to quell the cravings.

We tell you all about the terms above in the following guides:

The Cotton wicked pod was included in the kit and I also received a Ceramic wicked pod too packaged separately so I will see how they both perform.ypod pod types

1.4ohm Cotton Pod

This was the first pod I tried as it came in the kit and I am so impressed.

The inhale is a pretty tight MTL draw – not so tight it sucks your underwear up your crevice however it is not a DTL draw at all. It is for instance a tighter draw than the Innokin EQ pod mod.

There is a lovely little crackly noise when you vape which tells me things are purring away nicely in the pod.

I found the flavour to be excellent and surprisingly good vapour for a low power MTL kit on 50/50 liquid.

The pod is on its 3rd refill now and still tastes great – it has already out-lasted its way more expensive competition the Hava One pod mod!

Just make sure to keep an eye on the e-liquid as it is so hard to see the level from just a glance, but I did find the battery needed charging before a full pod had run out.

1.4ohm Ceramic Pod

Sadly this pod was faulty.

I filled with liquid – left it to stand for 10 minutes and installed it into the device.

I then sat there trying to get a draw from it – whilst going dizzy and inhaling to the point my lungs must have inflated like bouncy castles.

And – nothing.

The screen lit up with the seconds of the draw – but it didn’t fire and the airflow is so tight it was making me dizzy.

So this pod appears to be malfunctioning – possibly the airflow is blocked/too small and this is enough to tell the device I am inhaling but not enough to fully trigger the automatic fire.

Removing the pod and trying to just inhale on it does give the feeling that the airflow inlet is blocked. I tried the same on the Cotton wick pod and there is airflow.

I poked a thin screwdriver down the tiny airflow slot in the pod but it is just a dead end sadly.

After persevering I did manage to get it to fire a bit – despite nearly sucking one of my tonsils out. I got some vapour but no flavour and it didn’t feel as though it had actually fired. The fact I exhaled some vapour was a bit of a surprise!

Battery Life

Both pods are the same resistance so it shouldn’t affect the battery life whichever you are using – unless you are taking longer/shorter draws because of their performance.

Using this regularly I got 3.5 hours and 206 puffs. Remember I am using nic salt in it so it isn’t a constant chain vape like you can do with Sub Ohm devices – or else you would be puking up your tea from all the nic. So this was more of a bundle of 2-3 vapes and then a gap for say 5-10mins.

The performance did not appear to drop as the battery remaining decreased.

Pros

  • Sturdy and feels good quality.
  • Lovely little screen
  • Cotton Wicked pod gave beautiful vapour and flavour – really lovely.
  • Perfect MTL vape and quick automatic fire
  • Battery capacity remaining is clearly displayed on screen – so no having to guess how much battery is left.
  • E-liquid usage is very economical and one charge of battery will last less time than a full pod of liquid.
  • Very quick charging time.
  • No leaks, spitting or dry hits.

Cons

  • Pod refill plug is small, fiddly and easy to lose as not attached to the pod. You don’t get a spare.
  • Only 1 pod in the kit – really I think Yosta should add a couple of quid to the kit price and let you try both types of pod.
  • Pod is too dark coloured to see e-liquid level without really trying.
  • Ability to reset puff counter would be good.
  • Ceramic and Cotton wicked pods look exactly the same apart from a sticker – which you have to take off too!
  • Can be a bit slippy in the hand and a complete fingerprint magnet.
  • Ceramic wicked pod was faulty – unable to review

Final Review Verdict

So for Yosta’s first Pod Mod device how did they get on?

This is a little beauty. It is very similar to the Suorin Drop in a design way, the flavour for me is as good and the battery is a slightly larger capacity at 500mAh (as opposed to the 300mAh of the Drop). Bear in mind the YPod is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than the Suorin!

The screen really helps you know the battery level at all times so no surprises of it suddenly running out of charge – like some pod mods do.

There are niggles, the Pod colour, pod filling plug, faulty ceramic pod and the fact you only get 1 pod in the kit do stop me giving this higher marks. But hey… go and look at the price of this and compare it to the Suorin one and you will see why I rate this very highly.

This is super easy to use – the only thing which might be hard for some people is the fiddly pod filling plug – which could do with being attached to the pod. My hands are a bit poo and I kept dropping it and then you need a new pod.

Yosta need to put some sort of indication on the pods of what type they are and perhaps make the pods a lighter colour as it is really hard to see the liquid level.

Apart from those minor niggles the Yosta YPod has become my handbag dweller for those times I want a sneaky vape without lugging around anything big or leaky.

The Yosta Livepor 200W Box mod is a new release from Yosta – again using lightweight materials and a compact design.

I recently reviewed the Livepor 230 and it is still happily going strong and for the price it is a really excellent mod.

livepor 200 in hand

So will the Livepor 200W be as good?

This is a dual 18650 battery vape mod and will output up to 200W.

There are Variable Wattage, Mech (By-pass), TC (SS / Ni / Ti) and TCR modes to choose from.

Yosta say this mod is also made of a new “Light weight material” – no idea exactly what it is – but it reminds me a lot of the excellent Hugo Vapor Squeezer squonk mod material. Like a lightweight plastic material.
livepor 200 colours

There are 8 styles to choose from – the plain colour Black, Red and Blue and the new styles – Demon, Zebra, Camo, Dancefloor and Flames.

Thank you to Yosta for sending this for review – I will report back accurately on my findings with the mod in my possession.

Build Quality & Design

I have to bear in mind when I look at this mod – it is not an “Elitist” “high end” device. This is a budget friendly mod so for me it is more about performance.

livepor 200 front viewThe version I received is the Black model.

Build quality wise it isn’t awful and doesn’t feel at all flimsy. However the battery compartment door when installed does have some weird uneven gaps but the rest of the mod feels perfectly well made.livepor 200 side view

This is a very similar shape to a lot of the new 3D printed style mods for instance the Tesla Wye,  Vapor Storm Puma and the Laisimo Spring. So it could be they all use a similar base model?

livepor other mods
Left to right – Livepor 200, Livepor 230 and Augvape V200

It is surprising how lightweight this is for a dual battery mod – my Tesla Punk 85W with only 1 battery is way heavier than this!yosta livepor 200 alpha tank

The top of the mod houses a screwed in 510 connection plate but none of the screws are visible when a tank is installed. The 510 screw threads are perfectly fine and no wobble on the connector.livepor 200 510 connection

I tried the biggest tank I own on here the Freemax Mesh Pro and with the airflow adjustment ring this is around 25mm in diameter and as you can see no overhang.

The front of the mod houses the OLED screen, the round fire button, the adjustment buttons and the USB port. I briefly tested the USB port for re-charging and it worked fine – however it is not recommended to recharge batteries whilst they are in the mod.

The display is lovely and clear and you even get a display of the battery voltage for each battery.

livepor 200 screen

On the base of the mod is a weird branding thing saying “Master Roshi 200” and the required legal symbols – but that is all the branding that is visible. Who the bloody hell is “Roshi”?

livepor 200 bottom viewThe back of the mod is where the battery compartment cover prises off and as mentioned before it has some weird gaps going on.livepor 200 battery cover gaps

But it does close securely and doesn’t wobble or fall off. There are 4 magnets located on each corner of the mod and battery cover.yosta livepor 200 battery cover removed

The battery contacts are not solid – more like bendy strips – perhaps after a lot of battery removals these might not contact as intended so may need re-bending. I think the solid type spring loaded contacts are generally better quality.

Also the springy contacts could snag on battery wraps so keep an eye on them for any damage. I did notice some slight snags on the terminal ends of my batteries – not exposing any metal though.

livepor 200 battery contacts

I have spoken to a Rep from Yosta and said about the battery contact issue – which appears to be a common complaint from reviewers so far. So she will be passing this back to the design and development department and hopefully they will act on this.

Apart from the battery door and connectors this looks really well made!

Set-up Guide

Basic operation

livepor 200 components

  • Power on/off = 5x fire button presses (when mod is switched on the display says it is “locked” after 5 button presses. However it has turned off and will need to be switched back on again for use)
  • 20 second fire cut off = if the mod fires for longer than 20 seconds it will cut out to prevent overheating or damage
  • Overheat / overload = if the chip temperature exceeds 80°C the mod will display “Too Hot”
  • Atomiser short circuit = screen will display “Low Res”.
  • Battery voltage = below 5V screen will display “battery low” and the device will not fire until recharged.
  • Atomiser identification = when a new atomiser is connected to the mod the device will ask if this is a new atomiser and will reset accordingly.
  • Mode selection = press the fire button 3 times to select between the power modes – VW (Variable Wattage) – Mech (Bypass) – TC-Ni / TC-Ti / TC-SS (Temperature control modes), Atty lock (lock atomiser resistance when cold for temperature control).
  • TCR mode = enter the TC mode and press the fire button at the same time as up and down adjustment buttons to enter the TCR menu.
  • PTC = press the fire button twice to enter this mode and set your own custom power curves and save them to memory.
  • Stealth = press fire and up adjustment button at same time and confirm with fire button.
  • Power and temperature lock = press up and down buttons at the same time to lock the adjustment buttons. The fire button still operates in this mode.

How To Install The Batteries

When using a mod with removable batteries it is best to charge the batteries in a good quality external charger.

Do a quick check of batteries for torn wraps, dents or bulges. Have a good read of our Guide to Battery Safety if you are not familiar with the precautions required.

  • The battery compartment cover has a couple of cut-outs to help prise off the cover – locate these.livepor 200 battery cover cut outs
  • Put your nail in the cut-outs and prise the door off.livepor 200 battery tray
  • Install 2×18650 batteries according to the polarity markings in the battery tray.livepor 200 batteries installed
  • The battery cover is held on magnetically and will click back into position.

How Does the Yosta Livepor 200W Box Perform?

I have been using this mod with the Geekvape Alpha tank and the Freemax Mesh Pro tank. So mainly running between 60-85W.

I haven’t had a single issue with this mod at all.

It is pretty simple to use, the power compared to other dual battery mods I own seems to be accurate – i.e. 75W on here is the same as 75W on the Augvape V200 and the Voopoo Alpha One. I have nothing sophisticated to check the accuracy of the output but there are no concerns at all – it doesn’t feel under-powered in the slightest.

The buttons are great – the fire time response is as good as the Livepor 230 – which was excellent.

When you consider the price of this mod you really can’t go wrong!

Battery Life

This review has taken ages because I am struggling to get the batteries to fully discharge in one sitting to give a guide to the life! Like the Livepor 230 the battery life is flipping excellent.

To give you a rough idea of the battery life I used a pair of matched Samsung 25R batteries and vaping regularly at 75W I got a huge 11 hours of vaping (altogether 555 puffs of 2 second average).

I noticed when the battery voltages displayed were down to around 3.4V the performance did drop noticeably. For the last 5 minutes of battery life I was barely able to get a vape.

Obviously your power settings, usage and battery type will give a variation to this battery life.

Pros

  • Such a lightweight mod – weighing less than some of my single battery mods
  • Clear screen
  • Excellent price
  • Hasn’t skipped a single beat
  • Quick ramp up time
  • Power output seems pretty accurate
  • Easy to use
  • Great battery life

Cons

  • Battery door looked a bit shoddy
  • Battery contacts could become a bit saggy over time and cause battery wrap damage.
  • When the battery charge becomes low instead of mod cutting out the performance is sacrificed.

Final Review Verdict

The elephant in the room here is how low this mod retails for.

I have seen it on some sites for less than £30. That is less than £30 for a 200W dual 18650 battery regulated mod. Brand new.

The design is modern using lightweight materials, and apart from the battery contacts and a slight misalignment in the battery door you wouldn’t think this was a budget priced mod. Just keep an eye on your battery wraps!

The quick fire response and the battery life make this one of my main mods now. It has done all I asked of it and not grumbled once.

Time will obviously be the key to show if this mod will be hard-wearing, but for the price if you get a year out of it, it is a bargain.

For a vaper on a budget, for someone just testing if they like Box Mods or for a back-up device – the Yosta Livepor 200W is an excellent choice!

mvc rda poster

I am not sure what MVC means – possibly “Mesh Vertical Coil” at a guess.

Which comfortably brings me to the main feature of this RDA…

The heating element is very strange. You use a mesh sheet which is bent over and covered in cotton. Like a wall of mesh!

mvc rda deck

Mesh coils tend to give better performance due to the increase of surface area in contact with the e-liquid plus a more even heating of the element. However this comes with a down side – the “Mesh Dry Hit”. Anyone who has experienced this will not fondly remember the experience.

So for mesh to be user friendly there needs to be an excellent method of keeping the element saturated with e-liquid.

On the Yosta IGVI MVC RDA the cotton sits on top of the mesh and soaks up the liquid from the juice well. On a lot of mesh tanks the cotton is below the mesh meaning when it gets heavy with e-liquid it can sag away from the mesh and its lung exploding dry hit time.

So this design could be a better way of doing things – we will see!

You get adjustable side airflow slots and a good kit of goodies including spare mesh elements too.

Not mentioned anywhere in the specs or on the website the kit includes a 510 bottom feed pin so you can convert this to use on a squonk mod too – so I will try and test that out to see if it works as well as a bottom feed RDA.

You can choose from 3 colours – Gold, Blue and Black.

Thank you to Yosta for sending this to me for review – but as always I report back honestly on the device I have in my possession and how it performs.

Right then let’s get building huh!

Build Quality & Design

I received the Yosta IGVI MVC RDA in the black colour.igvi mvc rda front view

All good apart from the Ultem and I know you knew I was going to say that. It looks terrible on most colours but stands out even worse on a black RDA. I have done wee samples with a similar colour.

Anyway kit wise this comes nicely laid out in a sleeve covered padded box with a good kit of goodies. I would like to have seen a different colour top cap and drip tip – but hey.

The wee coloured top cap and drip tip are all one component. Remove this to get access to the top of the coil to add e-liquid if using as a dripper.igvi mvc rda top cap

The main barrel of the RDA was a bit difficult to remove but once I had I was greeted by the very welcome sight that a heating element, cotton and securing clip were already installed on the deck!yosta igvi mvc rda components

None of the photos on the Yosta website show the securing clip installed and the enclosed instruction card doesn’t show it either – so I am at the moment unsure if this is to be removed before use? I kept it on anyway!

Earlier models had a different system for clamping the cotton onto the element.

The RDA in the hand weighs nothing – I compare this to my Kaees Aladdin RDA which weighs a lot more and feels a lot more robust. The barrel of the IGVI MVC feels very thin and light.

There are cutouts on the barrel to make sure it is properly located on the deck for the airflow to hit in the correct place. You simply turn the wee-wee cap to obstruct or open up the air inlet slots on the barrel.igvi mvc side view

It is a very plain looking RDA with a stamped in logo on the side of the barrel which is the same colour and MVC written on the notches on the deck which show through.

The base of the RDA carries the majority of the branding set in what appears to be an Ultem coating.yosta igvi mvc rda bottom view

Set-up Guide

So the main question you need to ask before you even start with this RDA is whether you will be using it as a dripper or a squonker.

With a dripper you simply drip the e-liquid through the drip tip or remove the top cap.

If you want to use this on a squonk mod you will need to replace the 510 connector pin for the bottom feed hollow pin included in the kit.igvi mvc squonk pin installed

Simply unscrew the slotted head 510 pin and screw in the Philips head hollow pin.igvi mvc 510 pins

The airflow is adjustable by turning the top cap to close off or open up the side airflow slots.igvi mvc airflow adjustment

In the fully closed position there is still some airflow but very restricted. In the fully open position it is still slightly restricted so not the most open airflow you can get. Ideally if you like a restricted DTL vape then I think you will be happy. I used this mainly in the mid position.

Build Tips

We have some guides to help you with the basics of building:

In the kit you get 3 of the coarse mesh coils and 1 fine mesh coil.

I found this pretty simple to build.

  • Remove the cotton clamp by simply pulling it off.igvi mvc clamp removed
  • Remove the cotton from the mesh. Yosta say you can turn the cotton over and re-use it.igvi mvc cotton removed
  • Loosen the clamp screws using the allen key on the tool provided.igvi mvc unscrew clamps
  • Using tweezers remove the old mesh from the deck.igvi mvc mesh removed
  • Prepare a new mesh by opening it slightly with tweezers so it is wide enough to fit between the clamps.igvi mvc new mesh
  • Place the mesh into position and tighten the clamps.igvi mvc new mesh installed
  • Check the resistance on a resistance checker to make sure there are no short circuits.
  • Fit the RDA to a mod and set to a low power to do a dry burn to check all areas are heating evenly and remove impurities.
  • I did use the tweezers to gently scrape the surface of the mesh.
  • Once it is burning evenly allow to cool.
  • Remove a piece of the pre-cut cotton from the bag or cut a piece to the specified size.igvi mvc cotton
  • Place the centre of the cotton over the top edge of the mesh.igvi mvc cotton installation
  • Secure the cotton to the mesh using the clamp clip.
  • Make sure to push the ends of the cotton into the juice wells.igvi mvc juice well wicking
  • Soak the cotton with e-liquid and replace the barrel and top cap.

When you have used up the included cotton Yosta tell you the correct dimensions to cut your cotton when replacing. 48x13mm is the size they recommend.

mvc cotton guide

How Does the Yosta IGVI MVC RDA Perform?

Flavour & Cloud Production

This is designed for sub ohm vaping so it is best to use High VG e-liquid. We tell you all about VG and PG in our handy guide.

Again you won’t be needing high nicotine strengths either – the e-liquid I am using is my usual Stika Bombz Fruit Salad which is 6mg nic and 80%VG.

Obviously the liquid type, flavour, temperature/wattage settings and airflow preferences will dictate how this tank performs so performance could vary.

Make sure to check the e-liquid frequently to reduce the risk of a dry hit which will kill the cotton and probably a lung. However be mindful of not allowing the e-liquid level to be as high as the airflow slots as it will leak or spit out from there.

Dripping – Coarse Mesh Coil

I thought it was only good and proper to re-unite the IGVI MVC with the Yosta Livepor 230 mod – as they are like distant cousins.igvi mvc yosta livepor 230

This showed the resistance of the pre-installed coil to be 0.18ohm.

There are no real instructions other than a brief card to tell you how to build the deck. There are also no guide power settings for the heating element to give you an idea of what power to start at. So I am going to start pretty low!

I set the airflow setting to the mid position and started at 30W as I really have Dry Hit Phobia when it comes to mesh.

I dripped enough e-liquid in to almost come up to the airflow inlet slots and didn’t get a leak so those deck O-rings are doing their job well.

OK I am nervously upping the power to 50W and lots of really thick vapour now – still not much taste yet.

Heading up to 65W and things still improving – then when I hit 75W I can start tasting my e-liquid. Still quite cottony – like you would get from a new coil head which hasn’t broken in yet. I did also try 80W which seemed to be where this ran nicely for me – I didn’t really want to risk going much higher.

So after about 30 vapes at 80W this is starting to bed in nicely.

Plenty of lovely warm vapour and good flavour too. Very smooth to inhale on no spitting or turbulence either. I am really enjoying this – not the cleanest flavour I have ever had from an RDA but the smooth clouds are most pleasing!

After a few days of use I am really finding the flavour dropping sadly. If you look at the photos in the build section this was not due to the coil being “cacked up” as it still looked pretty clean when removed.

Squonking – Coarse Mesh Coil

I thought as I own the Eleaf Pico Squeeze 2 I might as well give this a run as a squonk RDA and see how it gets on. It’s fine to say there are no dry hits when you are dripping liquid from the top of the tank directly onto the cotton – but it could be a different matter expecting the liquid to wick up from the juice well effectively.igvi mvc pico squeeze 2 squonk

It seems to work well as a squonker – only thing that worries me is the cotton doesn’t always seem to be fully immersed in the juice well, so make sure it is before you attempt to squonk.

As long as you keep the juice well full it seems to wick really well which has surprised me.

Don’t over squonk though or else the liquid will come back out of the airflow inlets in the barrel.

Squonking – Fine Mesh Coil

The resistance of the fine mesh coil showed on the Pico Squeeze 2 to be 0.11 ohms.

Dry firing this before installing the cotton I had to go up to 30W as it was taking too long on lower power and the 10 second fire cut out kept kicking in.

I was struggling to get this to burn evenly too – as you can see one side didn’t glow at all – I tried re-positioning the mesh but still no better?fine mesh igvi mvc

Anyway I started off at 60W and moved up. The vapour was pretty dense. Things started to warm up after 75W and taking it up to 85W it seemed to work quite well.

But there is still quite a muted flavour. It must be because the cotton is on top of the coil so the vapour is almost being blocked by the cotton. The vapour you inhale has to come from the inside of the mesh element and up.

The flavour dropped even more after a day or so – it’s hard to pin point why – I am using the correct size cotton supplied – I will try another build with the coarse mesh and see if it improves.

Third Attempt – Coarse Mesh Rebuild

So to try and solve this loss of flavour issue I have rebuilt this again.

The cotton comes in the kit in pre-cut strips – these have multiple layers – so I have removed the top and bottom layer of the strip.

I put a new Coarse Mesh element on and this did seem to heat up a lot more evenly than the fine mesh coil.mvc rda third build

Again going up the wattages to 85W and the flavour is better than the fine mesh but still very muted.

It is really really cottony now.

I give up I really tried my best to make this perform but sadly that is the best I can do really.

Pros

  • Comes with coil and cotton already installed
  • Good kit contents including pre-cut cotton and 3 spare heating elements
  • Can convert to use as bottom feed squonk RDA
  • Excellent smooth vapour
  • Performs well as a squonker

Cons

  • Yukky wee coloured top cap
  • Cannot replace drip tip
  • No real instructions or guidance for power settings
  • Not the cleanest taste from a mesh RDA
  • Over squonking or dripping can lead to leak from airflow inlets.
  • Having the cotton over the top of the heating element seems to obstruct the vapour.

Final Review Verdict

As RDA’s go this is OK.

The flavour isn’t as pure as say the Freemax Mesh Pro which uses stock mesh coils. So it was a bit disappointing in that sense. I can only think that the cotton on top of the heating element is obstructing the vapour.

However whether dripping or squonking as long as you keep the juice well full I was not getting any dry hits and it seems to be wicking well. So as an improvement to a lot of Mesh RDA’s which can really suffer from the wicking not working effectively this is definitely better.

The vapour and airflow are super smooth.

Personally I find the Mesh Sub ohm tanks give such a great flavour nowadays and I won’t be replacing them with the Yosta IGVI MVC RDA sadly.

The Yosta Livepor 230 is a new vape mod from the brand Yosta.

We have had a few products from Yosta in to review in the past – the Livepor 256 Box scored well in its review from our Kevin and I used the Yosta Pillar tank – which had its flaws but was a lovely vape.

livepor 230

So I have had a new package of goodies arrive from Yosta including the Livepor 230 Box, the Yosta IGVI M2 sub ohm mesh tank and the IGVI MVC RDA which I will be adding to the site as they get put through their paces!

The Livepor 230 Box is a tiny weeny little mod barely bigger than the two 18650 batteries it contains and is marketed as a lightweight mod and houses a 1.33in IPS colour screen on the front.

There are all the usual user modes and the mod will output as the name suggests up to 230W.

livepor weightThere are 4 colours to choose from – Red, Camo Green, Volcanic Black and Black. However there are some mentions on the Yosta Facebook page of there being Graffiti editions of this model too!

Right then batteries installed let’s get this beauty fired up!

Thank you to Yosta for the devices sent free of charge for review purposes – but as you know this makes no difference – my opinions are based on the device I am using and my experience with it!

Build Quality & Design

I would like to apologise for my photos – it is so hard to take a photo of this mod due to it being black, rubbery and a fluff/dog hair/fingerprint magnet!livepor 230 front view

The version I received is the Volcanic Black model.livepor 230 right side view

I don’t know what this is made from but Yosta say it is a “Lightweight new material”?igvi livepor 230

This thing is tiny. Sooooo tiny. Barely bigger than the 2 batteries it guzzles into its tardis like body.lp 230 size

Anyway with the batteries installed I keep thinking I need to put the batteries in as there is no weight to it at all!livepor 230 in hand

The shape is reminiscent of the Smok Mag trigger shape devices and fits really nicely in the hand with a full fire bar where the trigger part would be.livepor 230 left side view

The screen is nestled in the front of the mod.livepor 230 display

Around my screen are a few plastic imperfections like rough edges – I keep trying to see if there is a peel off screen protector but doesn’t appear to be.livepor 230 screen edges

Below the screen are the adjustment buttons which are nice and clicky and have the same grippy finish as the mod.

Also below the screen is the USB port – I am not sure if my port is slightly wonky or the panel covering it is mis-aligned. The USB connector fits in ok but it’s slightly out of line.lp 230 usb port

The base of the mod is the battery compartment cover, a slide and clip in affair which so far is working as good as gold.

The mod body has lots of little vent holes to help keep temperature down and also in case of the dreaded battery vent too.livepor 230 bottom view

The back of the mod has a panel which feels “leather-ish” with the Livepor 230 branding.livepor 230 back view

It is not the most exciting of mods to look at – you know me I do like a bit of rainbow and a big screen – but it is in no way offensive or garish and feels like a functional and robust mod.

On the top of the mod is the 510 connector – and this mod is pretty surprising for such a little thing.

The tank I am using is the Yosta IGVI M2 tank which is 25mm diameter at the base and fits perfectly fine.igvi m2 livepor 230

The massive Freemax Mesh Pro which, when you measure the resin airflow control ring is almost 28mm in diameter, even sits quite comfortably on this mod!lp230 freemax mesh pro

The only visible screw heads are the two on the top of the mod and they are completely obscured by the tank.lp230 top view

Set-up Guide

  • Set = enter settings menu to adjust display colour, brightness, time out and puff counter.

How To Install The Batteries

Best practice for mods which use removable batteries is to charge the batteries externally in a good quality charger.

Make sure to install the batteries according to the polarity marked inside the mod and on the battery door.lp230 battery polarity

Do a quick check of batteries for torn wraps, dents or bulges. Have a good read of our Guide to Battery Safety if you are not familiar with the precautions required.

  • Slide the door in the direction of the arrow – make sure the batteries won’t fall out.lp 230 battery door open

How Does the Yosta Livepor 230 Box Perform?

The screen display is odd – that is the only way I can put it – like a triangle affair which makes you stare at it harder than you should need to. However everything you need to know is there.

You can adjust the screen brightness and colour to make this easier on the eyes though! In the light blue colour I found the display less “busy”.

The first fire up with the Yosta IGVI M2 tank on did really impress me with how quickly it responded so the fire action is definitely quick!

The menu system is pretty simple to operate and easy to get used to.

The puff counter was an issue – you set a limit to the amount of puffs and when it reaches this the mod wont fire until you go into the menu and reset it.  You cannot turn this feature off.

If you try and change the number of puffs it goes back to 10 and you have to sit and wait for it to scroll to 999 which is the maximum amount of puffs you can set the limit to. So annoying – I hit this limit and had to manually reset the counter. I don’t understand why you would even want to limit the amount of puffs? Pointless feature.

Power wise – I have no equipment to test the accuracy of the output – but a tank I am used to running at 70W on other mods feels exactly the same using on here so output at that level does appear to be true.

The Yosta Livepor 230 operates exactly how it should – quick firing and everything worked perfectly. This could be a handy little carry around all day sort of mod.

Battery Life

The Livepor 230 will only take 18650 batteries and the battery specs plus how you operate and set up the device will of course cause variations in battery life.

But to give you a rough idea – using paired Samsung 25R batteries I got 12.5 hours at 75W.

When the battery indicator was showing approximately 20% left I did notice a slight drop in performance – there appeared to be less power. This happened during the last hour of the battery life.

Pros

  • Feels robust yet lightweight
  • Lovely grippy texture
  • Really fast firing
  • Amazing battery life!
  • Easy to use menu system
  • Ability to accommodate some of the bigger diameter tanks
  • No rattles or malfunctions
  • Great instruction book

Cons

  • Small imperfections around the screen panel
  • Wonky USB port
  • Display layout is a bit “busy”
  • Not sure if firmware is upgradeable – nothing on the Yosta website
  • Can’t turn off the puff limit

Final Review Verdict

Overall the Yosta Livepor 230 is a sweet little vape mod.

The size and weight of this really as such a surprise – and the fact this little pocket rocket can output up to 230W and somewhere conceals 2 batteries is incredible!

Yes there are a couple of slight build issues – but only cosmetic – this functions perfectly and the fast ramp up time really surprised me. Add to this the excellent battery life and this has become a favourite for me now.

The feel of the mod is lovely with its rubber texture – although you will be constantly removing fluff from it! Don’t let it near a tissue!

The only niggle is the puff counter limit – this is not required and I wish you could switch this off totally.

I have to say well done Yosta – I am not usually a fan of dual battery mods and tend to favour single battery jobs as they are easier for me to carry around. Yet the Livepor 230 box has broken that rule! It is a lovely little mod – just make some prettier colours for it – a nice pink or purple one please!

The Yosta IGVI M2 tank is a new sub ohm tank which uses mesh and standard coil heads.

There have been a couple of IGVI tanks plus an RTA and an RDA.

igvi m2 colours

The IGVI M2 has a 6ml bubble glass installed and also a 2ml TPD compliant glass in the kit – in the EU you will probably only get the 2ml glass.

There are 2 coil heads for this a stainless steel 316 standard 0.5ohm coil and now a 0.15ohm mesh coil. Also the Yosta website says the coils are compatible with the IGVI P2 tank and also SMOK TFV8 Baby range – excellent!

There is a top fill cap which slides across to reveal the filling port.

You also get a bottom adjustable airflow ring wrapped around the “avoid condensate base” assembly. The “avoid condensate” system is basically an extra bowl kind of affair in the base to prevent liquid or condensate exiting through the airflow intakes.igvi m2 base design

Choose from Black, Silver or the 7-colour rainbow style.

Thank you to Yosta for sending this over to me for review but as always I will report back honestly on my experience with the device I received.

Build Quality & Design

I received the Yosta IGVI M2 tank in the Rainbow 7-Colour version and it is very very pretty.

The 6ml bubble glass and mesh coil are already installed.igvi m2 side view

There are no instructions – which was a bit odd – I was trying to open the tank to see the writing on the coil and couldn’t get the base off initially – and was scratching my head a bit as some tanks can be push in coils from the top etc.

Looks wise this looks great the bubble glass gives a great capacity and a sliding top fill works smoothly. A little arrow on the top cap indicates where to push to refill.igvi m2 stood up view

The airflow control ring on the base has punched out holes for airflow inlet and they look great too.

The early images of this tank did show a cobra style drip tip but mine only had a plain black which is a shame as I think the cobra style really did look good.igvi m2 cobra

This does have an 810 drip tip – I did try the two styles the Goon style (on the left in photo – without O-rings) which was too loose and the standard 810 (with O-rings shown on tank) which was perfect.igvi m2 drip tips

Set-up Guide

Basic operation

To get this tank up and running just fill it up, allow the coil to prime, adjust the airflow and you are off!

The mesh 0.15ohm coil head is already installed in the tank but you can swap this for the SS316 coil in the kit.

How To Fill The Tank

  • On the top of the tank is a little arrow, push the top cap across at this point.
  • The filling port will be exposed.igvi m2 fill port
  • Add e-liquid to the tank watching the level through the glass.
  • Slide the top cover closed.

How To Install The Coil Head

I will mention as there are no instructions in my kit I had a bit of a struggle for my first coil change.

The bottom cap did not want to unscrew. I didn’t want to force it too much in case there was some kind of special push in design. However in the end I got fed up and got the pipe grips on the tank base and got it open eventually.

  • Remove the tank from the mod.
  • Turn the tank upside down.
  • Unscrew the tank base – mine was tighter than a gnats nether regions!igvi m2 coil installed
  • Unscrew the coil if one already installed.igvi m2 coil removed
  • Screw a new coil into the tank base.
  • Replace the tank base onto the tank.
  • Fill the tank as described above.
  • Leave the tank to stand for 10 mins – especially with the mesh coil – a dry hit with a mesh coil is like drinking petrol (yeah I do know – siphoning out a fuel tank mishap in my past…)

How Does the Yosta IGVI M2 Tank Perform?

Flavour & Cloud Production

I used the Yosta IGVI M2 tank on my Yosta Livepor 230 Box mod – seems only fair as they are related eh! I set the mod to variable wattage and “Normal” taste mode.igvi m2 livepor 230

This is a sub ohm tank so the best e-liquid for this is higher in VG and usually lower in nicotine. We tell you all about PG and VG in our guide.

My e-liquid, because I am boring and don’t experiment much, is my usual Stika Bombz Fruit salad, 80%VG and 6mg nicotine.

Airflow wise fully closed you have no airflow and fully open there is a slight restriction – i.e. not as “airy” as say a Smok TFV12 Prince – but not sucking the underwear up from your bottom either.

Also worthy of note is the fact you can also use Smok TFV8 Baby and Vaporesso GT coil heads in this tank. I did try both – my coil heads were knackered so I didn’t fire them up however they did fit perfectly.

Mesh Coil 0.15ohm

So I started off at 50W with the coil as there are no instructions with the tank and I can’t read the tiny writing to give me a clue of the rated wattage.

At 50W this was an acceptable vape – slight flavour, bit cottony and some vapour. Let’s crank this bugger up and see how it fares huh!

Going up to 60W and this has improved significantly.

I have quite a few mesh coil tanks with 0.15ohm coils and they usually don’t come alive until over 70W onwards.

And this was the same, 70-75W was far better. It did take about one tankful of liquid for that slight cottony taste to fade but now lovely flavour.

After 3 tankfuls this is purring away lovely – a great little tank so far!

This is not quite in the same league as other mesh coils I have used but perfectly good and still better than a lot of standard coil sub ohm tanks I have used. Well played Yosta!

Also to add this coil has been going for 7 days now and still tastes great and cotton is still white – I am only swapping it as I need to test the SS version!

SS316 Coil 0.5ohm

This is rated 30-60W on the Yosta website – it didn’t say on the box and I didn’t have any instructions. The text on the coil head is far too little for me to see.

So because I am hard I started off at 40W with the airflow on my usual mid setting preference.

As expected quite a cool vape and cottony taste – this did improve on the mesh coil after a tankful so I won’t judge it just yet!

At 50W this is performing quite well – not as warm vape as the mesh coil but pretty smooth and a lot more vapour than I was expecting!

Up to 60W and there is slight spitting but again this is the first tankful of liquid through this coil – but seems to have a bit more flavour and still rucks of vapour.

I did take it to 65W but got the warning taste of lots of cotton so didn’t want to push it any further.

I have now had 4 tankfuls of liquid through this coil and the flavour has improved and the cottony taste has now gone. 60W was my preferred power setting for this coil.

After using the mesh coil the SS316 coil is pretty “Meh” but again not terrible either.

Pros

  • Lovely looking tank in the rainbow
  • Very easy to fill
  • Pretty good flavour from the mesh coil
  • No leaks
  • Assembled and built well
  • Coil life from mesh coil is excellent
  • Quite efficient on e-liquid.
  • Also compatible with Smok TFV8 Baby and Vaporesso GT coil heads

Cons

  • A nice drip tip would complement this.
  • No instructions
  • Tight tank base
  • I wouldn’t bother putting the SS316 coil in the kit- just put two mesh coil heads in instead

Final Review Verdict

This is how I see it – this is a good sub ohm tank when you use the mesh coil.

I have used a lot better – the Freemax Fireluke Mesh, Freemax Mesh Pro and Horizon Falcon absolutely walk all over the IGVI M2.

But this tank with the mesh coil is still way better than a standard coil tank – the mesh coil life of over a week and flavour above and beyond what a standard wire coil head can offer does go in this tanks favour.

The SS316 coil in the kit – was decent and ok performance but after using the mesh coil it did seem bland and weak. In fact if I was Yosta I wouldn’t put this coil in the kit at all – just put 2 mesh coils in instead.

The tank was robust, well built, had zero leaks and it isn’t as greedy on liquid as some I have used.

I wouldn’t put this at the top of my list to purchase but it wasn’t a disappointment either.
