The VZone Preco 2 Solo Kit is the follow up to the original Preco One kit and also includes the new range of Preco disposable tanks.preco 2 solo kit poster

I think (correct me if I am wrong – it happens quite often!) that VZone were the first brand to start the trend of the Disposable tanks.preco 2 solo kit components

Basically they released the Preco tank which was a DTL (Direct to Lung) tank with a mesh coil. You can refill the tank but when the coil has died on you the tank is disposed of. This did seem to catch on and people did like the ease of use – almost like a pod but on a larger more powerful scale.preco 2 solo kit features

If the terms MTL and DTL are right over your head read our guide to DTL and MTL vaping styles!preco 2 solo LED

Then VZone created a mod to pair with the Preco tank called the Preco One mod and made a kit. This was a simple battery with a fire button and no adjustment.

To follow on with those VZone created a MTL version of the Preco tank with a 0.9ohm mesh coil for low power and high nicotine usage.

VZone have now released new versions of both tanks and have created another new mod to pair with them to create a kit. The two tanks are as follows and you get both in the kit:preco 2 solo rainbow

  • MPOD – this is the MTL version – there is a 0.5ohm coil suitable for 10-16W and disposable.preco mpod
  • DPOD – this is the DTL version with a 0.15ohm mesh coil and again disposable.preco dpod

The mod in the kit is the Preco 2 Solo which has an internal 1800mAh battery and a single fire button to operate.preco 2 solo battery

When you change the pod the mod will automatically adjust the output to suit the pod resistance.preco 2 mtl dtl

You cannot use other tanks on this mod and the MPOD and DPOD do not have standard connectors on the base. To get round this there is an option of a pack of 3 pods which includes a “deck” which you install to allow the pods to be used on other devices.preco deck

There are 4 colours to choose from: Rainbow, Blue, Stainless Steel and Black.

I think the disposables are really handy for back ups or for taking on holiday etc but are they practical for regular daily use?

So we have another addition to the Preco range – this is the VZone Preco MTL Tank.preco mtl poster

The VZone Preco range started with the Preco disposable sub ohm mesh tank. This was followed by the Preco One kit which included a mod designed to pair with the Preco Tank. Also there is a Preco Plus kit which uses a 18650 battery now too.preco mtl features

To follow on from the previous releases there is now a MTL version of the disposable tank.

MTL (Mouth to Lung) is a vaping style usually favoured by beginners or those who like to mimic the feeling of smoking. We tell you more in our Guide to MTL and DTL vaping styles.preco mtl views

The Preco MTL tank has a higher resistance coil at 0.9ohm and is rated for use between 10-25W. The best performance is apparently at 15-25W. So ideal for use on a single battery or internal battery mod.

However with the tank being 24mm in diameter this could rule out some single battery mods such as the Eleaf iStick Pico X.preco mtl internals

You get a top fill plug which you just pull out to fill with your own e-liquid. Plus there is an airflow adjustment at the base of the tank to tailor the airflow to your preference.preco mtl top fill

This type of tank is not very environmentally friendly as you throw it away when the coil is past its best. However for those who haven’t the time, patience or ability to faff around with the messy business of changing coils these disposable tanks are handy to have around.preco mtl clear

Here is an introduction video from the VZone Facebook page to show you more.

The VZone Preco One Kit comprises of the Preco One Mod and the Preco Disposable Sub-ohm tank.

Preco one main imageVZone are quite a new company and they have so far knocked out some excellent stuff – I loved the Graffiti and Cultura mods.

A new trend in vaping is the use of Disposable Sub Ohm tanks. Basically you can still refill these but once the coil is past its best you cannot change it and have to dispose of the whole tank.

preco tank costThe tanks are also sold in packs quite cheaply with the marketing feature being they are easy to use and a pack of tanks is usually around the same price as a pack of coils without the initial outlay for the tank as well.

The Preco tank was one of the first of the disposable tanks I have seen and it has a top fill plug, a 0.15ohm mesh coil and is 24mm diameter.

To follow on from the Preco tank VZone designed a mod to pair with it – hence the Preco One mod.

The mod has an internal 1800mAh battery and a single button operation.

Below the tank on the top face of the mod are loads of LED lights, you can change the colour/pattern and these shine through the Preco Tank in a spectacular fashion! See the video below for an idea!

The specifications do not say what power the mod is outputting and it is not adjustable. However the tank apparently is best at 50-60W so I would imagine the output of the mod would be within those limits?

Basically this setup has all the convenience of say a pod mod but with more power and more flavour.

There are 4 colour options – Black & Orange, Stainless Steel, Black and Blue & Red.preco one colours

So environmental concerns aside (yes I do feel these disposable tanks add to the issues of plastic waste) I will give this kit a fair going over.

I received this kit free of charge for review purposes and will as always report back honestly on my findings.

Build Quality & Design

I received the VZone Preco One Kit in the Stainless Steel version.preco one full kit

As you can see it is a bit of a chubby pen style but very light and pretty compact really.preco one size comparison ball pen

It was very well packaged and the instruction leaflet despite the tiny text is well laid out and comprehensive.preco one and tank

VZone Preco One Mod

The mod has only one button which is the fire, on/off and LED controls. This is nice and clicky and responsive.preco one front view

The top of the mod features the 6 LED lights and these shine through into the tank lighting the whole tank up!preco one light show

On the base of the mod is the VZone branding, a battery vent hole and the required legal logos.preco one bottom view

The finish is a very shiny Stainless steel but I am able to scratch this with a finger nail and the scratch will not rub off. Not a big deal on the SS version but it does make me wonder how durable the finish will be on the other colours.preco one top view

On the side where the fire button is there is the “Preco One” branding. On the rear of the device is the micro USB port for charging.preco one rear view

Everything is sturdy, no rattles or wobbles and the mod stands up nicely on a desk.

VZone Preco Tank

The tank is very pretty there are two colours to choose from – Clear and Ash.preco tank colours

The tank in my kit and the spares were all in the clear style.

preco tank on modTo fill you remove the top bung – which also is supposed to stay attached to the tank – however mine kept coming off. Luckily you get a spare in the kit and 3 spares in a pack of tanks.

To adjust the airflow the outer part of the tank kind of rotates. Really hard to describe but it caught me out a few times when I first used the tank as I just expected the bottom bit to turn as per usual with Sub ohm tanks.preco tank airflow adjustment

Basically you have to grab the tank body and turn it clockwise or anti clockwise to open or close the airflow inlet. However turning anti clockwise does sometimes unscrew the tank from the mod! So the best way I have found is to hold the top of the tank with one hand and twist the tank body with the other.

Another slight niggle is that fact that there is so much plastic you struggle to see the liquid level. There are ridges and plastic seams on the tank so it is hard to tell when it’s full until it plops back out of the fill port.preco tank front view

You cannot remove the coil or drip tip they are all moulded into the tank assembly.

The tank, although as light as a feather, feels well made and I have had no leaks at all.

Set-up Guide

The mod and tank are supplied not connected. So you will need to fill the tank, charge the battery and screw the tank onto the mod.preco one kit components

Mod Basic operation

  • Turn mod on or off = 5 clicks of the fire button.
  • Vaping = press and hold the fire button.
  • Adjust airflow = turn the tank to restrict or open up the airflow inlet slot as required.
  • To change LED settings = Press the fire button 3 times to turn the Colourful Mode on or off. When Colourful Mode is on the LEDs will operate when the fire button is pressed and change colours. When Colourful Mode is off the LED light will light up Green during vaping.
  • Battery life colours = the LED lights will flash twice after a short fire button press and change colour according to the battery charge remaining : Green = 100-40% charged, Blue = 40-10% charged and Red = 10-0% charged. This doesn’t happen after normal vaping, so if you want to check the battery remaining just do a brief press of the fire button. The lights also operate in the same colour code during charging.
  • Show mode = to turn Show Mode on or off press the fire button 4 times. When show mode is active the LED lights will begin when the fire button is pressed during vaping and will continue to cycle through the colours for 15 minutes.

Safety Features

The mod also has the following safety protections:

  • Short circuit – LED lights will flash 3 times
  • High resistance / no atomiser found – LED will flash once in Blue when an atomiser is found and will flash once in Red when no atomiser is found.
  • Low voltage (battery needs charging) – Red LED will flash 3 times when the voltage is below 3.2V and the device will turn off.
  • Device overcharging – the device will cut off charging when fully charged.
  • 8 second fire cut off (to prevent accidental firing and damage)

How To Charge The Battery

  • Using the supplied USB cable install the smaller end into the charging port on the mod.preco one charging
  • Install the large end into a suitable USB outlet.
  • The LEDs will light up red when charging.
  • When fully charged the LED will flash green several times and then go out completely.

I timed a full charge using the USB on my PC (0.5A) and it took 2 hours from fully discharged to fully charged. This may be quicker on mains / powerbank type chargers.

How To Fill The Tank

  • Pull up the filling plug to expose the fill port.preco tank fill port
  • Add e-liquid through the port whilst watching the level through the tank.preco tank filling
  • Replace the fill plug securely.
  • There are spare filling plugs in the kit and with the tanks so you can replace them if lost.

I tried to fill the tank with a 10ml bottle and a large chunky 80ml bottle and both worked fine. However I usually remove the drip tip from tanks to allow chunky nozzles to fit into the port easier but you cannot remove the tip on this kit sadly.

How Does the VZone Preco One Kit Perform?

Flavour & Cloud Production

The Preco tank has a 0.15 ohm mesh coil. The ratings for this are 40-70W and the best recommended voltage is 50-60W.

As I have no idea what power the mod is outputting I will try the tank on the Preco One Mod plus on an adjustable mod to see how it performs.

As this is a sub ohm tank it is preferable to use a thicker e-liquid – ideally 70% VG and above. Also you won’t require a high nicotine level as this is a powerful tank and anything above 6mg nic will be way too harsh.

I used my usual Stika Bombz Fruit Salad 80% VG and 6mg nicotine in this kit.

We tell you about e-liquid mixtures in our guide to PG and VG.

VZone Preco One Tank Performance

Tank On the Preco One Mod

The coil is a mesh type of 0.15ohm which seems to be a common place to start. For instance the coils on the Freemax Fireluke Mesh are similar so I am hoping the flavour and vapour output will be close too.

I can happily report that this tank is really lovely!

Plenty of vapour and lovely flavour too – when you think this is a cheap throwaway tank I have to admit my expectations were quite low. But I really really like the output from this.

Airflow wise you can fully shut off the airflow in the closed position and in fully open there is a slight restriction – not a wide airy airflow but not going to send you boss eyed sucking either.

I usually have most sub ohm tanks set to the middle position for a restricted DTL vape – I am using the Preco tank mainly in the wide open setting to give you an idea of the airflow.

To read more about DTL and MTL vaping styles read our guide.

After a week of use the flavour and vapour output is exactly the same – so far the coil life seems pretty good!

Tank On the Voopoo Alpha One Mod

I popped the Preco tank onto my Voopoo Alpha One mod and started off at 40W.preco tank voopoo

This was OK quite a lot of vapour but not much flavour and feels well below the power output of the Preco One mod.

At 45W a lot of vapour – cloud city but again the flavour isn’t starting to shine yet.

50W is getting closer to the output of the Preco One mod I think. 55W seemed to be where this was happiest. I did try 57W but there was a hint of dryness like if I push it further it will make my lungs burn with a revolting mesh dry hit. So I think I will let the coil bed in a bit and see if I can get up to the recommend max of 60W.

I transferred my well used (week old) Preco tank which was used on the Preco One mod onto the Voopoo to see if bedding in the coil allowed me to up the power a bit.

At 57W this time the output was great – it was a bit warmer than on the Preco One mod but not much improvement otherwise.

I took it up to 60W and more of the same really – no dry hits and it performed well.

So I would recommend letting the coil bed in for a few tank fills before going above say 50W as it was threatening to cause dry hits with a newer tank.

VZone Preco One Mod Performance

I have to say even from my first couple of vapes the fire time seems really quick and responsive.

The LED lights might be an issue for some, you can however sort of turn them off and they will only light up when vaping and flash twice after a button press to show the battery level. However if you want a full on vaping disco you can set it to “Colourful Mode” or even worse is the “Show Mode” where the lights carry on for 15 minutes after you last pressed the fire button.

Battery Life

The battery life will depend on which setting you have the LED lights set to. For instance the Show Mode will have the lights operating for 15 mins after last press of the fire button so this could really impact the battery life.

I got 2.5 hours regular vaping with the lights set to Colourful Mode (Lights operate whilst vaping but not after releasing the fire button).

Pros

  • The simplicity of a pod mod with only refilling and charging to contend with.
  • Nice looking kit
  • Light weight and compact
  • Quick fire time
  • Excellent flavour and vapour from the tank.
  • Isn’t as thirsty as some sub ohm tanks.
  • Pack of 3 tanks is equivalent price to a pack of coil heads
  • No leaks or malfunctions
  • After a week of use the flavour and vapour still seem great.

Cons

  • Airflow adjustment means rotating the whole tank body – if you do not grip the top of the tank you will keep unscrewing it from the mod.
  • Obvious environmental concerns regarding the waste of disposing of the whole tank.
  • Filling plugs will be easy to lose – thankfully you do get spares.
  • Not exactly “stealthy” even with the light modes turned off the LEDs still flash when the fire button is pressed and also to show the battery level – the whole tank lights up!
  • Mod body scratches quite easily – this is on the SS version so not sure how durable the coloured versions will be?
  • Battery life isn’t amazing – this is quite a high output mod and needs a bigger battery really.

Final Review Verdict

I am struggling to find anything really bad about the VZone Preco One Kit – apart from a few niggles. The airflow adjustment is a bit annoying, hard to see the fill level and the filler plug becomes detached from the tank when refilling.

Aside from the waste of plastic from the tank being disposable I really like it. I can see how it would be useful if you were away from home for a while – take a pack of these, no coil changes, no worries about broken tank glass etc.

The battery part works perfectly fine with a surprisingly quick fire speed and you can set the lights to only come on whilst pressing fire if you find them too annoying.

The power output of the battery seemed to perfectly match the tank – when using the tank on another mod I found 50-55W to be similar output. Moving up to 57W was pushing it a bit so it does feel like the tank and mod are very well matched in performance to get the optimum performance.

Sadly though as the mod does output around 50W the battery life isn’t great and it is only 1800mAh. Similar output vape pens tend to be from 2500-3000mAh and I think this kit would benefit from a bigger battery capacity.

I would really love for VZone to produce a sub ohm tank with the same coils as the Preco. Where you can just change the coil and not have to dispose of the entire tank. The flavour output is excellent but my conscience wouldn’t allow me to use these tanks all the time.

The VZone Preco range started with the release of the Preco disposable sub ohm mesh tank. To accompany the tank VZone created the internal battery Preco One mod which was sold as a kit.preco kit plus components

Now to follow on from that the Preco Kit Plus still includes the original Preco tank but this time the mod has a removable battery.preco tank coil

As mentioned above the Preco tank is a disposable sub ohm tank which has a 0.15 ohm mesh coil. There is an adjustable bottom airflow and a top filler plug.preco kit plus top fill

The mod this time uses a single 18650 battery to power it but this is not included in the kit.

Also the output is said to be 80W max – I would imagine that would depend on the battery and tank installed. preco kit plus in hand

The original Preco tank however did say it was best at 50-60W but was rated up to 70W – which makes me wonder if there is any change to the tank for this version as this is a higher output? There is nothing on the VZone website to say this as it just refers to the original Preco Tank.preco kit plus purple blue

Wowee I have been dying to get my hands on the stunning VZone Graffiti mod!

VZone are quite a new company however they have hit the vaping scene with a huge impact! Other products in their exciting range include the beautiful Cultura 100W, The eMask and the Spirit.

vzone graffitiJust look at it – it is a beauty! VZone have really gone crackers with the design on this model!

The mod uses 2×18650 batteries which are not included and can output up to 220W.

On the side of the mod is an 0.91in OLED screen and the fire and adjustment buttons.

Like the Cultura the side panels use the “In Mould Labelling (IML)” – which is an injection coating process on aluminium alloy for a better finish and wear resistance.

graffiti viewsThere are plenty of modes to keep you amused too including KA (Kanthal- Variable Wattage), Temperature Control and TCR . The Graffiti has the HW board 1.0 chipset – which is the same as used in the Cultura.

The HW chipset is also appearing to be the same as used in some Tesla models including the Wye 85W and 200W and the Punk 85W and 220W.

Also four “Taste” modes are available which change the characteristics of how the mod fires.

There are 3 colours to choose from – Gun Metal, 7 Colour and Stainless Steel. I actually love them all!

I received the 7-colour version which has a rainbow body, yellow/gold side panels and the front and rear of the mod have the graffiti pattern.vzone graffiti with Falcon tank rainbow

The pattern as mentioned above is created using IML technology and it is smooth and shiny and wont peel off or flake as it is part of the coating of the mod.

The only flaw to the design to me is how shiny it is, it can get a bit slippy and being a dual battery mod it does have a bit of weight.graffiti with falcon tank

The 510 connector is in the centre and I have the Horizon Falcon tank on the top which is 24mm diameter and this is probably the maximum size I would go before you will get overhang.falcon on graffiti

Give this mod a good waft about with and without batteries and there are no rattles or wobbly bits. The Magnet on the battery door is so strong it keeps attracting items from my desk! See below I demonstrate this by using the mod to pick up some tweezers!graffiti picking up tweezers

The bottom of the mod has some simple branding and some battery vents.graffiti views

This has the same small old fashioned looking screen as the Cultura but again this seems to be very Tesla like – even down to the KA mode (KA is the Tesla mode for VW!). I have been using mods with huge colour screens lately so this seems a bit small and not as user friendly as some- but hey this won’t be draining the batteries like a big screen and loads of sparkly blingy lights.graffiti screen

How Does the VZone Graffiti Mod Perform?

Basic operation

vzone graffiti componentsThe mod has a few controls on the side panel by the screen. There is a fire button and up/down adjustment buttons.

There is a USB port but this should really be for Firmware Upgrades (when available) as it is not recommend to charge removable batteries in the mod.

  • To switch on/off = 5 quick presses of the fire button
  • To lock/unlock adjustment buttons = press hold fire button and down button
  • Adjust settings = up and down buttons
  • Select/confirm = fire button
  • Enter menu = 3 quick presses of the fire button

When you enter the “menu” mode – different parts of the screen can be highlighted, use the fire button to select the value you want to alter and the up and down buttons to adjust. Once finished press the fire button.graffiti home screen

Resistance Adjustment

When you highlight the resistance value and press fire you can use the up and down buttons to fine tune your resistance.

When you highlight the ohms icon and press the fire button you can lock the resistance of the coil – i.e. for temperature control operations – doing this with the coil cold will make sure the mod can make the correct adjustments for the coil resistance when heating up.

Taste Mode

Highlight the “Norm” icon and press fire and you will enter the Taste Mode menu.

  • Norm = the mod operates at a normal output for the power setting
  • Soft = the mod operates in a more gentle mode by heating the coil gently
  • Hard = this sends more power to the coil initially to give a faster heat up to the coil and a stronger vape
  • User = this will enter the “Power Curve” menu. In this you can customise the rate and amount of power during each vape. Each bar on the graph is one second. So for instance you can make it so more power is applied for 1-2 seconds to give a faster heat up and then lower power for the rest of the vape as the coil is already hot.

For more info read our Guide on Power Curve Settings.

Power Mode

When you highlight the KA icon and press fire you will enter the power mode menu.graffiti menus

  • KA = variable wattage mode – allows you to adjust the wattage you require with the up and down buttons.
  • SS316, Ni200, Ti = these are the Temperature control modes where you can specify what temperature to heat the coil to. We tell you more in our guide to Temperature Control.
  • TCR = this is the “Temperature Coefficient of Resistance” setting. This is also a form of temperature control but with this you can customise how the mod will calculate the resistance/temperature equation with more accuracy.

Memory Modes

You can save any of your customised settings – including power curves to the memory. You have three slots in the memory and by highlighting the M icon you can recall these settings from M1, M2 or M3.

Mod Information

Highlight the battery icon and click fire to find out the mod information including firmware version.

How To Install The Battery

  • The side panel comes off to get access to the battery compartment.
  • Look on the base of the mod for the slight cut out.

graffiti battery cover cut outs

  • Put your nail in the cut out and pull the battery cover off. This is held on magnetically.graffiti battery cover
  • Using a pair of matched batteries install them according to the polarity marked on the battery sled. You will need to keep the batteries quite parallel to the mod as the connections are spring loaded and if you tilt the battery too much it won’t go in.graffiti battery sled
  • Make sure to keep the battery removal ribbon under the batteries to help you to remove them.graffiti battery installed

It is recommend to remove batteries for charging. Use a good brand of battery and charger. Keep batteries in pairs so they keep the same level of charge and degradation. We tell you more in our guide to battery safety.

VZone Graffiti Performance

The performance for me was spot on. I used tanks I am familiar with and have used on other mods. The power output of this appears to be accurate with other mods I have used.

I mainly ran this at 80W with my Horizon Falcon tank as the match was so beautiful. It didn’t skip a single beat, no drop in performance – just nice and steady and reliable.

I mainly stuck to the Normal taste mode – I did have a little play and with the Hard taste mode the ramp up is loads faster – I was having to take really short vapes as whoa it’s intense! So I was happier with the Normal mode.

Battery Life

The battery capacity and user settings will always mean there is no fixed “battery life” specification.

So to give you a guide – I have a pair of matched Samsung 25R batteries and at 80W I got 17.5 hours of vaping. This was spread over 2 days though and may differ for you depending on battery condition and vaping habits. Like mentioned above I been using a lot of big colour screen, LED adorned mods lately and to be honest I am blown away with that battery life I really am! I am almost converted to less bling… almost…

Pros

  • Build quality is excellent, no flaws or rattles
  • Beautiful finish and design
  • Uses same chip as some Tesla models
  • Wonderful battery life
  • Performance was perfect
  • Reliable and sturdy mod

Cons

  • The styling might not be to everyone’s taste!
  • Slightly small and old fashioned looking screen/menu system – could be a pro as less to drain the battery!
  • Very smooth finish so might be a bit slippery to grip

Final Review Verdict

I know some people might look at the VZone Graffiti mod and think it’s louder than someone who has just trod on Lego with bare feet. But hey this range is not for those people. The Graffiti range are big and bold and bright.

Underneath all the bright stuff is a solidly build mod which just performs and does all you ask of it. Having the same chip as the Tesla mods is a bonus as they are well loved by many. Despite the crazy styling this is a serious mod built to perform and not just look pretty.

The battery life of this at 80W was just so impressive! I loved it. Normally I favour single battery mods for being more portable in my girly hands – but I have really fallen in love with this Graffiti and just how practical is it. I barely even had to check the battery level as it hadn’t moved from the last time I looked!

Personally I prefer a nice big colour screen – but that is my preference and of course big colour screens soak up the battery life.

I have in my possession the stunning VZone Cultura mod – I have secretly (or not so secretly) been craving this and the VZone Graffiti mods as they just look amazing!

So you can imagine how happy I was when it arrived!

What Can We Expect From The Cultura from VZone

The VZone Cultura is a single battery mod and you can use either a 20700 or 18650 battery in this. With the bigger battery you will get a maximum output of 100W. With the smaller battery it will be less.

The funky looking body on the Cultura is down to “In Mould Labelling (IML)” – which is apparently a way of injection coating on aluminium alloy for a better finish and wear resistance.

Inside the mod is a HW board 1.0 chipset – which is the same as used in the Graffiti and eMask twin battery mods.

After using this I found a lot of similarities to some of the Tesla mods – the Wye and the Punk. I looked around and it appears some of the Tesla mods use the HW chipset too. The “KA” mode for VW was what made me think of Tesla.

You get an OLED screen and user modes including Variable Wattage, Temperature Control, Taste Modes and Curve Memory Modes.

VZone went a bit crazy with the design on this range and the four colours in the range each have their own style. You can choose from the Skull like Gun Metal, the very shiny Blue and Silver SS model, the super bright 7-Colour and the self-explanatory Camo.cultura colours

So will my love at first sight with this be an enduring love or just a bit of a fling? Let’s get it fired up and find out!

Build Quality & Design

Upon opening the box which is just oozing quality on its own – I find the mod has a plastic wrapping all the way around – so the mod arrived in perfectly shiny pristine condition.

I got the Stainless Steel version which has mirror blue panels. Oh god I hope it stays looking like this as it is absolutely beautiful!cultura SS version

This mod looks like such a quality item – the buttons on the front have the sort of machined swirls on the face of them and even without a battery installed there isn’t a single rattle.cultura screen side view

However a couple of very minor build flaws were apparent – see my pics below. The silver panel on the side of the mod has some weird dents/cut outs where it meets the top panel of the mod, the gaps in where the blue panels meet this are uneven and the battery door has a slight over hang. But that is being very picky.cultura build quality

My main mod is usually the Wismec Sinuous P80 as I really love a single battery mod which can use 25mm tanks – and guess what this little Cultura is very very similar!cultura pen size comparison

Here are a few size comparisons to show you where the Cultura sits in the size league. Left to right – Augvape V200, Cultura, Wismec Sinuous P80, Vaporesso Revenger Mini and Smok X-Priv Baby.Cultura Size with mods

After a few days of use I found a feature I hadn’t even noticed! When you press Fire there are light up branded displays on the side of the mod. Hidden behind the black side panels! I love this!cultura side panels

The 510 connector is offset.

cultura 510 connectorMy Fireluke Mesh resin tank looks amazing on here and that is 24mm in diameter. You are getting very close to overhang territory with this so I don’t think a 25mm diameter tank would look very good.cultura fireluke mesh

On the opposite side to the screen is a textured grip area.cultura grip side view

So far for a new brand I think VZone are knocking it out of the park they really are!

How Does the VZone Cultura Mod Perform?

Basic operation

cultura componentsThe controls consist of a fire button and 2 adjustment buttons. The screen is sat between these.

Below the adjustment buttons is a USB port – mainly for software upgrades when these are available. I have not seen any firmware upgrades on the VZone website yet. It is not recommended to recharge removable batteries in the mod.

The controls will be familiar to anyone who has used a Tesla mod. If you are not familiar a quick run down of the operation is below.

  • Switch on/off = 5 quick presses of the fire button
  • Lock/unlock the adjustment buttons = press hold fire button and down button
  • Adjust settings = up and down buttons
  • Select/confirm = fire button
  • Enter menu = 3 quick presses of the fire button

When you enter the “menu” mode – different parts of the screen can be highlighted, use the fire button to select the value you want to alter and the up and down buttons to adjust. Once finished press the fire button.

cultura screen

  • Select the resistance value to lock the resistance or fine tune it using the up and down buttons.
  • Select the “Norm” icon to select the taste mode, Norm, Hard, Soft or User. If you select User you will be taken into the power curve setting screens. Each bar of the graph is 1 second of firing. You can then adjust how much power is sent per second. You can then store this in the Memory slots.
  • The “KA” icon will take you to the power modes. Select KA for Variable Wattage or select the coil materials for temperature control functionality. You can also select and enter TCR settings on this screen too.
  • Select the “M” icon to scroll through the memory slots and you can select a saved setting.
  • Select the battery icon to display the mod info – Firmware etc.

How To Install The Battery

Make sure to remove the 18650 battery adaptor and isolator spongy things from the battery compartment!cultura adaptor and isolators

  • Turn the mod upside down and slide the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow.cultura battery doorbattery door open cultura
  • If using a 20700 battery install this into the mod observing the polarity marking on the battery door (minus at the door end!)cultura 20700 battery installed
  • If using a 18650 battery – install the battery first into the adaptor and then into the mod – again observing the battery polarity markings.cultura 18650 battery installed
  • Close the battery cover and slide closed.

The battery door can be a bit temperamental to close. You have to push the door past the catch before it will close and then slide it shut.

VZone Cultura Performance

From the second I installed the batteries this just fired up and worked.

The menu system is perfectly functional but after using large screens with big icons this does feel slightly old fashioned. But it does work fine.

Performance wise the output seemed to me to be accurate with the vape tanks I know and use on other mods – I found I was setting the wattage to similar levels.

As the VZone Cultura appears to use the same chipset as a lot of Tesla mods use I think you will find the operation and performance very similar too if you are familiar with them.

The Tesla mods with this chip include the Wye 85W and 200W, Nano 120W and the Punk 85W and 220W and are well loved for their performance.

Battery Life

This can take different batteries – either the 18650 or 20700. Sadly a 21700 just will not fit – I know cos I tried!

Also each type of battery can vary and the settings you run the mod at will all impact the battery life you get. So I can give you a guide to the life I got with my batteries.

With the 20700 battery (3100mAh, 30A Max) at 60-65W I got 7 hours of vaping.

With the 18650 battery (Samsung 25R) at 60-65W I got 5 hours of vaping.

Pros

  • Beautiful to look at
  • Quality feeling
  • Excellent packaging
  • Great size and weight – so practical
  • Wonderful performance and good battery life
  • Appears to have the same chipset as some of the popular Tesla mods

Cons

  • Menu system and display seems slightly outdated in the era of big colour screens and menu icons etc.
  • Fire button wasn’t super responsive, sometimes would take 7 or 8 clicks to turn on and off.
  • Few very small flaws in build quality.

Final Review Verdict

I love how the Vzone Cultura looks, it really is a beautiful device. It is mega shiny so a total finger-print magnet! Trying to take photos without showing myself in the reflection of the mirror finish was a challenge!

It is super practical, big enough for a 20700 battery but small enough to be hand and handbag friendly. I find dual battery mods a bit too big for out and about so this is perfect. It is similar in size and performance to my much loved Wismec Sinuous P80 which is my most used mod.

The screen design is slightly old fashioned – remember I have been using the great big colour screens on the likes of the X-Priv Baby, Vaptio Super Bat etc so this is not as easy to see or navigate.

But it does the job and does it well. Users of Tesla mods with the HW chip will feel right at home with this mod. Plus some people might see the simple screen as a Pro as it is less to drain the battery!

A few weird gaps on the body only slightly detract from the looks and quality of this mod. But performance wise I have not been able to fault it at all.
