Voopoo are also releasing the Drag X3 alongside the S3, so I’ll also cover that off in the review!

Not only have Voopoo made some new additions to the Drag stable as part of their 8th anniversary celebrations, but they have also undergone an exciting brand refresh too which has attracted quite a lot of attention.

The Voopoo Drag S3 and X3 join some rather illustrious stable mates, such as the Drag 5, Drag S2 and X2, Drag H40 and the original Drag X and S.

What Can We Expect From The Voopoo Drag S3?

Voopoo’s Drag S3 looks to exceed beyond all expectations with a compact and secure premium pod mod!

A 3000mAh high-density battery breaks size limitations, delivering 25% longer vaping time in a compact device.

It is engineered for compact mobility without any compromises made, and features 5V/2A fast charging capabilities.

A 0.96″ ultra-clear TFT display is paired with a variety of stylish user interface themes, to deliver a vivid and more engaging visual experience, with key information available on-screen at a glance.

You have multiple ways to unlock and access the Drag S3, giving flexible options for every situation, and an intuitive capacitive touch activation unlocks the device with a tap- instantly securing it when released to prevent accidental burning.

Seven different stunning finishes can be chosen from, with a sculpted texture and smooth leather accent moulding perfectly to your hand and growing ever more refined every time that you use it.

Tank wise, the Drag S3 is compatible with Voopoo’s renowned top airflow PnP X Cartridge tank, giving you mouth to lung and direct to lung vaping options with the ability to swap coils in and out with ease.

An innovative leak proof chamber keeps e-liquid where it belongs, in the tank, to minimize mess and waste.

Before I begin the review, Voopoo wanted me to make you aware that the UK version of the Drag S3 and the X3 both come with a PnP X Cartridge DTL (direct to lung) tank, however the Drag S3 sample that I received for review comes with a PnP X Cartridge MTL (mouth to lung).

The MTL version will be sold separately in the UK.

I will however have a look at both the PnP X Cartridge MTL and DTL in this review as I have both of them!

Anyway, thanks to Voopoo for sending the Drag S3 (and the X3!) over to us to take a look at, all thoughts below are my own…

Kit Contents

I wanted to mention the new style of packaging that Voopoo have adopted as part of their brand refresh, and I must say that the presentation stands out even more than it did in the past!

The Drag S3 comes inside a neat all-white presentation box, with a predominantly yellow coloured sleeve and the iconic Voopoo infinity symbol standing out alongside a picture of the device. The contents are-

Design & Build Quality

Voopoo Drag S3 Device

I’ve had my greasy mitts on the Voopoo Drag S3’s predecessor, the S2, and the size profile is very similar so it felt instantly familiar.

In fact, the dimensions of 124.25mm x 33mm x 28mm are almost identical, even though the Drag S3 packs in a larger, 3000mAh high density battery!

The Drag S3 is an incredibly comfortable device to hold, and it is lighter than I expected it to be too, being constructed of zinc alloy and leather. Seven different finishes are available, you can pick from white, pink, green, blue, brown, metal gray or spray black.

Each finish has a different design embossed on it, giving the device a premium and high-end look. I received the spray black version for review and the carbon fibre style design on the leather is lovely, it is a stunning device to look at on the whole!

On the front of the device is a large display and the resolution is…uh fine I guess? It isn’t the highest definition screen that I have come across on a device but it does the job, displaying the information you need at a glance.Though if I’m being picky, some of the numbers are a little on the small side (depending on the selected theme) and you may need to squint to see the battery level, puff count and coil resistance.

Above the screen is the firing button, which has capacitive technology, meaning that it wakes up just by placing your finger on it and instantly secures it when released to prevent accidental coil burning.

At the base of the screen is the up and down buttons as well as the Type-C charging port.

A magnetic connection is present on top of the device, and the Drag S3 is compatible with Voopoo’s PnP X Cartridge tank.

PnP X Cartridge

Voopoo’s PnP X Cartridge is a pod-styled tank and has both MTL and DTL specific options. The DTL version features large airflow intakes on either side of the tank, whereas the MTL version has smaller holes.

An airflow control ring on both types of PnP X Cartridge tank allows you to really fine tune the airflow to your desired setting, and the clear tank section allows you to see exactly how much e-liquid is left in the tank.

The tank features 510 threading on top, so you can switch out the drip tip for a different one of your choosing if you so wish.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Tank

Before you do anything with your Voopoo Drag S3, you are going to want to fill the tank.

To do so, remove the PnP X Cartridge tank, locate the filling port on the side of it near to the base, open this up and fill away.

If you are filling with a brand new PnP X coil inserted then make sure you leave it for five minutes before vaping, to allow the coil to properly soak up the e-liquid. This cuts down on the risk of dry hits happening and prolongs the lifespan of your coil as a result.

Changing the coil

Voopoo’s PnP (Plug n Play) system is used on the PnP X Cartridge for swapping your coils in and out.

You just have to invert the tank, slide the old coil out and the new one in. The coil will sit flush with the base of the tank if it has been inserted correctly.

It’s best to do this whilst the tank is empty if possible otherwise it gets a bit messy!

Operation

First things first, turning the device on or off is done by pressing the fire button five times in quick succession.

To enter the menu, quick press the fire button three times, then use up and down to navigate the menu. Press fire to confirm. Menu options are as follows-

• MODE. This allows you to select the device mode. SMART uses the Gene.TT chipset to identify the best power output automatically based on the coil resistance. RBA lets you set any power output from 5-60W. ECO puts the device in power saving mode to conserve battery.
• THEME. Customise the UI with a choice of three different themes.
• ANIMATION. Turn the ‘flame vaping’ animation on or off.
• LOCK SETTING. Choose from three different unlock options. TOUCH LOCK uses the capacitive touch input, BUTTON LOCK will lock the device with two quick presses of the fire button, UNLOCK keeps the device unlocked.
• PUFF CLEAR. Resets the puff counter.
• EXIT. Exit the main menu and return to the homescreen.

Charging

5V/2A fast charging is supported here, and the charging port is located just below the screen so you can charge the Drag S3 either stood up or on its side.

A Type-C cable is included in the kit.

Whilst charging, if you press either the up or down button the charging status will be displayed on screen along with an approximation of how long it will take to fully charge.

Passthrough functionality is also present here, so you can vape whilst the Drag S3 charges but this will slow down the charging time.

Voopoo Drag X3

Launching alongside the Drag S3 is the Drag X3, which is another option for vapers that crave a little more power than what the S3 can provide.

There are a fair few similarities with the S3 and X3, and both are compatible with the PnP X Cartridge tanks.

However, rather than having a built in battery like the S3, the X3 can take either an 18650 or 21700 battery, and has a maximum power output of 80W as a result.

To accommodate a removable battery, the X3 is somewhat taller, and it also packs in a beautiful 1.66″ smart full colour touchscreen.

How Does The Voopoo Drag S3 Perform?

This little powerhouse has plenty of power in the palm of your hand, as it can output from 5-60W and supports coil resistances from 0.1-3.0ohm!

Thanks to smart mode, if you don’t want to mess around with different power output settings, you can let the device choose the best one for your coil but still tinker with the power if you are curious.

And there are guardrails in place too, so you won’t be able to accidentally set it to be powerful enough to burn the cotton in your coil!

However, if you want those guardrails down just switch the device to RBA mode and you can set the power output to whatever you fancy!

When it comes to tank selection for the Drag S3, Voopoo have opted for the tried and tested PnP X Cartridge tank which was present on the S2.

I’m really pleased with that decision as the PnP X Cartridge tank is still one of my favourites of all time, so it is definitely a case of ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’!

The PnP X Cartridge tank is compatible with a whole host of PnP X coils, so there are a ton of different options available to suit all types of vaping styles.

PnP X Cartridge DTL

The PnP X Cartridge DTL is designed for higher powered vaping, and is the one that you will want if you are wanting to push the upper limits of what the Drag S3 is capable of.

It is best suited for use with higher VG freebase nicotine to get the best out of it, it’s a little too powerful for 10/20mg nicotine salt based e-liquid.

Flavour, honestly this tank delivers it in absolute spades. There are few other tanks out there that deliver the exceptional flavour quality that this one is capable of!

I first got to try this tank out with the Drag S2 and it has remained a longstanding favourite of mine.

I tried out the 0.15ohm and 0.3ohm coil in this and the flavour results were exceptional. The only downside is that these coils are very thirsty so you can find yourself getting through a fair amount of e-liquid on extended vaping sessions.

PnP X Cartridge MTL

The MTL version of the PnP X Cartridge isn’t quite as wild as the DTL version, but this is more for those that prefer a less powerful mouth to lung hit.

I vaped the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm PnP coils in this one and again, I’m getting truly wonderful flavour from it. I found it great for vaping some of my more complex NET tobacco based e-liquids.

If you prefer nicotine salt based e-liquids, this will be the tank for you as the lower power and tighter airflow is better suited for those types of e-liquid.

Coil Lifespan

I’ve used the PnP X coils an awful lot over the past couple of years and these are some of the best out there when it comes to lifespan.

They will handle anything you can throw at them, and I still believe that the 100ml lifespan estimate from Voopoo is a little on the conservative side, as I have had plenty of PnP X coils that have lasted beyond that!

You’ll find that you spend far less on coils when using these, as the longevity of them is so good. They average around a week and a half when I am using them, and I vape heavily!

Airflow

At either side of the PnP X Cartridge DTL are two large airflow intakes, which can be adjusted with the buttery smooth airflow control.

This tank is capable of producing some serious, room-filling clouds with the airflow open and the power turned up, you have been warned!

Pleasingly, the tank manages to stay quite cool even when taking frequent puffs at high power settings. So no danger of burning your lips on this!

On the MTL version, the large airflow intakes are replaced by three individual airflow holes on each side of the tank.

When opened right up, this is still a little airy and borders on a restricted lung hit, but you can close the airflow slots right down to a cheek-suckingly tight MTL hit if you wish.

Battery Life

Voopoo have managed to cram a 3000mAh high-density battery into the small frame of the Drag S3, and this powers through heavy vaping sessions.

I was getting almost two days worth of vaping before I needed to recharge, that was when using the 0.3ohm coil at 40W. Of course, using the 0.15ohm coil does reduce battery life somewhat, especially when pushing the power output up to 60W.

Eco mode is also available, so if you are in a situation where you need to conserve battery, you can activate this mode and eke out a little more battery life.

Pros

Final Verdict

Voopoo have taken the Drag S2 and delivered some adjustments and small quality of life improvements, making for an incredibly powerful, user friendly device that just delivers top notch performance.

The decision to continue with the PnP X Cartridge is an excellent one, as this is already compatible with a whole host of different coil options, offers MTL and DTL vaping options and most importantly, delivers some of the best flavour from a stock coil sub ohm tank that money can buy.

And Voopoo have designed a rock-solid, fantastic looker of a device too, with some incredibly attractive options available for purchase.

It is a user friendly kit too, you don’t have to delve deep into menu settings to get the best out of it, you can even let the device do the work for you if you so wish. Though there are some personalisation options available here!

There’s plenty of power available at your fingertips too, as most people won’t need to go up to the 60W maximum output, and if you aren’t vaping up at that range then you can take advantage of the excellent 3000mAh high-density battery and the battery life it offers.

If you are looking to step up from pod mods to something with a bit more of a kick, or are looking for another sub-ohm kit to add to your arsenal, then I can’t recommend the Drag S3 enough- Voopoo have done an outstanding job with this!

Design & Build Quality

My first impressions of the Voopoo Vinci E80 once I got it out of the box and into my hand is that this is a robustly made, solid bit of kit that is surprisingly lightweight for its size, I was expecting it to feel a bit chunkier!

It weighs in at 88.8g, giving it a lightweight and comfortable feel, and it measures in at 113.5mm x 35mm x 23.6mm- which is surprising when you consider there’s a 3000mAh high-density battery packed into the device too!

You can pick from seven different colour finishes, with Purple-Gold Gradient, Orange-Red Gradient, Gold, Green, Rose Red, Metal Gray and Spray Black versions available. I was sent the Purple-Gold Gradient one for review.

The finish here is lovely on the aluminium alloy body. The colours seamlessly segue between each other and it shimmers too, with this effect being even more obvious in direct sunlight.

Thankfully, the finish doesn’t seem to be too much of a scratch magnet either.

Another highlight here is the 1.47″ TFT colour screen. This is large and clear, allowing you to easily see information at a glance such as the coil resistance, battery life, output power and whether the device is locked or not.

And of course, one of the most important features on a pod system is present at the bottom of the screen- a puff counter!

Above the screen is the circular fire button, featuring the ‘Everest Lab’ logo laser etched into the centre of it. This is almost perfectly positioned for my thumb and has quite a short travel, registering near-instantaneous input when I press it.

On one side of the Vinci E80 is the plus and minus buttons, which are used for adjusting the output power and navigating the (small) menu. Underneath this is a locking switch- a handy feature we shall come onto shortly!

Above the plus and minus buttons you’ll find a small airflow intake hole, and directly opposite to this on the other side is the sliding airflow control.

On the same side as the airflow control is the Type-C charging port, located near the base, below the laser etched Voopoo Vinci logo.

Vinci E cartridges are manufactured from polycarbonate and feature a transparent design, which allows you to see exactly how much e-liquid remains in the pod.

These have a built-in coil (unlike some of the other PnP X series cartridges which have removable coils), and a 5ml capacity…though only if you are purchasing them in a non-TPD regulated market.

The TPD regulated versions are restricted to a 2ml capacity to meet the regulations, these are the same size as the 5ml non-TPD cartridges but feature a silicon bung inside them to reduce the capacity.

Of course, as with virtually all other pod systems out there, the cartridges connect to the device magnetically. There’s a really solid connection here between the cartridge and the device, with minimal wobble.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

You get two Vinci E cartridges included in the kit, a 0.3ohm and a 0.6ohm one, so you firstly just need to decide which one you are going to use.

The filling port cover is conveniently located near the top of the cartridge, and off to the side of it, so you don’t need to remove the cartridge to fill it.

Lift the filling port cover up to expose the filling port, and fill your cartridge up to the top.

If you are filling a new cartridge for the first time, wait at least five minutes before vaping it, as this allows the cotton to fully soak up the e-liquid which in turn, reduces the risk of burnt hits and increases the lifespan of the cartridge.

Operation

To turn the device on or off, click the fire button five times quickly. You also need to press the fire button to take a puff on the device.

A locking switch is located on the side of the Vinci E80, this allows you to quickly lock and unlock your device, saving you from having to turn it off when you aren’t using it and protecting you against accidental misfires.

To access the menu, hold down the plus and minus buttons at the side of the device.

There are only a couple of options to choose from here, you can switch between three different themes under ‘THEME’, and ‘PUFF CLEAR’ resets the puff counter. ‘EXIT’ will exit the main menu.

Adjusting the power is done by pressing the plus and minus buttons at the side of the Vinci E80, and power is adjusted in 1W increments.

Charging

Voopoo include a Type-C cable in the kit and recommend this for use with the Vinci E80, you just need to use a suitable power source for the charging cable.

The Type-C charging port is located on the side of the device, towards the bottom which means that you can charge it with the device either stood up or laid down on its side.

Whilst charging, the battery percentage is displayed on screen and the Vinci E80 also gives you an estimate of how long it will take to fully charge.

And when the Vinci E80 is on charge, you can still vape it thanks to pass-through charging, however this will increase the charging time.

5V/2A fast charging is present here, which is a god-send when you consider that the Vinci E80 has a 3000mAh battery!

Thanks to the fast-charging capabilities of this device, it can be fully charged in under an hour.

How Does The Voopoo Vinci E80 Perform?

With an output power range of 5-80W, this is a seriously powerful refillable pod system, and one to definitely consider if you prefer a warmer vape and a lung hit!

Though, if you just want a plug and play vape without having to adjust power settings, the GENE.TT chip present in the device caters to that as it smartly detects the resistance and sets a suitable power output for you.

I noticed that when I pressed the fire button to vape, power delivery is pretty much instantaneous, as vapour was produced immediately with virtually no ramp up time for the coil at all.

Annoyingly, there’s no auto-draw system present here, there have been more than a few occasions where I’ve absent-mindedly gone to take a puff without pressing the power button and nothing has happened. I guess I’ve got very comfortable with my pod systems recently!

In the kit you get a 0.3ohm Vinci E cartridge as well as the 0.6ohm version, so out of the box the Vinci E80 is designed to cater to all styles of vaping including mouth to lung, restricted direct lung and mouth to lung vaping.

I would say however that the Vinci E80 is really best suited to restricted lung and direct lung vaping out of the box, as the included cartridges are a little too powerful for mouth to lung vaping, and the device is definitely on the airy side.

They are great for restricted lung and direct lung vaping though, and there is a 0.8ohm Vinci E cartridge available which might be a better fit for mouth to lung!

One of the first things I wanted to do was to really test out the power of this device, so excitedly I installed the 0.3ohm pod, filled it up, went to crank up the power….only to be stopped from going further than 40W.

As it seems, 40W is the maximum power level permitted for the 0.3ohm cartridge, and it limits the 0.6ohm one to 23W, which is slightly annoying as I feel that these cartridges are both more than capable of handling more.

That being said, I still get a very enjoyable, warm vape at 40W with an immensely satisfying smooth draw present.

These excel with high VG e-liquids as well, I’ve filled up with 70% VG e-liquid in both cartridges and they have faired just fine, with no dry hits and no leaks during use either!

Alongside the included cartridges, the Voopoo Vinci E80 is compatible with a huge range of PnP X platform cartridges, with resistances from 0.15ohm all the way to 1.0ohm, so there’s options here for pretty much all vaping styles, from Mouth to Lung right through to Direct to Lung!

Handily, in the kit, there is a small leaflet that shows the vast amount of PnP X cartridge options available. Pretty much any cartridge that is compatible with the Voopoo Vinci E120 or the Argus E40 will work here!

Flavour

Voopoo are proving themselves to be industry leaders when it comes to providing a flavoursome vape from their cartridges and pods, and the Vinci E pods are shoulder to shoulder with the best ones that Voopoo have produced.

The draw is fantastically smooth, with just about the right level of warmth if you have cranked up the power, and the flavour is just exceptional and crisp.

I primarily vaped high VG shortfills mixed with freebase nicotine in these pods, and I could definitely pick up on each and every flavour note present in my e-liquids.

Pod Lifespan

With both Vinci E cartridges, I got a week and a half of heavy use out of them before the flavour began to degrade and they needed to be disposed of.

I’m happy if a pod lasts a week so if I get longer than that it is a bonus, plus it saves on having to repeatedly buy new pods too!

Airflow

A sliding airflow control is located on the side of the Voopoo Vinci E80, with very smooth travel when you adjust it, and a fixed airflow slot is directly opposite to this on the other side of the device.

This offers a wealth of different vaping options, as you can vape mouth to lung right through to unrestricted direct lung hits.

Though as I’ve said above, I still feel that this is primarily a RDL/DTL device rather than a mouth to lung one.

You can achieve a mouth to lung hit by closing the airflow slider right off, and just using the fixed airflow slot on the opposite side, but this is still a little on the airy side with both cartridges.

Lung hitters will absolutely feast here though, as this is one of the airiest pod systems I have tried out!

When you’ve got the airflow set fully open, there’s a huge amount of airflow being drawn in from both slots, with a very cloudy vape produced as a result.

Battery Life

I found this to be a real highlight with the Voopoo Vinci E80, the battery life here is seriously phenomenal!

I’ve got three days use from a single charge before, which considering how often I vape, is frankly outstanding!

That means I can take this device away with me without worrying about battery life and whether I’ll be able to charge it or not.

Pros

• Huge battery life

Final Verdict

I guess a key question here would be ‘if I lost my Vinci E80, would I buy a new one?’….

And the answer from me is a resounding yes!

In the time I have spent with this beast of a pod system, it has become a daily driver for me, I can’t actually remember ever leaving my house without it.

The reason being is that I’ve always been a vaper that enjoys a bit more of a powerful vape, and a good old lung hit, and the Voopoo Vinci E80 is very good at catering to my needs there…even with the power limits imposed on the coils!

Also, the battery life is absolutely outstanding, and there aren’t many other pod systems that compete with the amount of vaping that I can get from a single full charge of my Vinci E80. I don’t even really need to take any other kits out and about with me!

And of course, the flavour absolutely sings thanks to the Vinci E cartridges. These deliver a vape that is as good as any other in the Voopoo PnP X range, with superb longevity too which saves on having to buy replacement cartridges.

All in all, this is another brilliant pod system from Voopoo and one that I’ll continue to use long into the future!

Design & Build Quality

With the Argus Klyc, Voopoo have gone all out on aesthetics to deliver a sleek and understated looking device that just oozes absolute class! This has a real, serious premium feel about it, and I’m a fan of understated looks and sleek lines.

It measures in at 100.6mm x 29.7mm x 17.2mm, and is constructed from aluminium alloy to give it a real lightweight feel. This is definitely a pocket friendly kit thanks to it’s compact design!

You’ve got six different colour finishes to pick from, with Black & Gold, Dreamy Blue, Dusty Pink, Moss Green, Mystic Gray and Red & Gold kits available. I got the Dusty Pink version for review and seriously, the finish is lovely and shiny!

Voopoo’s big design feature with the Argus Klyc is the magnetic cap, which covers the pod when not in use and keeps it free from dust and lint in your pocket, giving you a cleaner vaping experience.

This clips onto the top of the device satisfyingly, and holds firm thanks to the magnetic connection. When you want to puff on your device, you can pop the cap off and connect it to the base of the Argus Klyc.

Now, it does attach to the base of the device magnetically when vaping, which is convenient, but it isn’t the strongest connection which could make it easy to knock off and lose!

I much preferred to keep the cap in my pocket whilst I vaped.

On one side of the device is the Type-C charging port, and opposite to this you’ll find the smart indicator light and the airflow control. The smart indicator light glows when in use, and displays the output level based on what the chip has determined is best.

Above the smart indicator light is a very basic battery light, this is a very small dot and it glows red if there is less than 20% battery remaining, and white if more than 20% remains. It is that small it might be hard to see for the visually impaired vaper!

The Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 is manufactured from PCTG and has a 2ml capacity if purchased in a TPD regulated area, and a 3ml capacity outside of this. The pod attaches to the device magnetically, though there is a bit of wobble present.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

With the location of the filling port on the top of the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 and the design of the Argus Klyc, you can actually fill the pod without needing to remove it.

You can also see exactly how much e-liquid remains in the pod without removing it from the device too.

So, to fill the pod, pop the silicon filling port cover up to expose the filling port, then the pod all the way up to the pod, taking care not to overfill it otherwise e-liquid will leak back out!

If you are filling a fresh pod for the first time, make sure you leave it for at least five minutes to allow the cotton in the coil to fully absorb the e-liquid, prolonging the lifespan of the pod and cutting down on nasty, burnt hits.

Operation

The Argus Klyc is a simple device that is easy for even newcomers to get to grips with!

It features an auto-draw system, so to vape all you need to do is take a puff on the mouthpiece. The Gene AI.2.0 chip does the heavy lifting for you, to ensure that you’ve got a consistent and satisfying power output.

Essentially, the device detects how long and how hard you draw on it and adapts the power output accordingly, with three different power levels available. This is a pretty smart system and it works well in practice!

On the side of the device is a status indicator, which pulses a range of different colours.

If it is a third full when vaping, there is a low level power output, if it is two thirds full then there is a mid level power output, if the whole bar is full then the device is outputting full power.

This also pulses green whilst charging and when a cartridge is installed.

If you aren’t a fan of the status indicator lighting up, you can turn it off by taking three quick puffs on the mouthpiece within two seconds.

Charging

On the side of the Argus Klyc is a Type-C charging port, and a Type-C charging cable comes included in the kit.

To charge the Argus Klyc, plug the charging cable into the port and utilize a suitable power outlet.

Charging takes place at a rate of 5V/1.2A, so the 1350mAh battery will charge up fully in under an hour.

How Does The Voopoo Argus Klyc Perform?

As I’ve covered already, the strength of the vape is driven by how hard and how long you take a draw for, and the Argus Klyc outputs up to 30W depending on the resistance of your pod and your vaping style!

Whilst using the Argus Klyc, I found that taking frequent, shorter draws tended to get the maximum power level, however there were instances where longer draws got the most out of it.

I did find that the vape was pretty consistent regardless, I didn’t get any wild variations in power when using the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2, and it tended to stay consistent right until the battery dropped under 20%, with a noticeably weaker vape as a result.

You get the 0.7ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 included with the device, and it is also compatible with existing Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods as well as the Argus ‘pod family’- there’s a helpful leaflet in the box which details exactly which pods are compatible!

Flavour

I’m really happy that Voopoo have continued to use the excellent Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 with the Argus Klyc, rather than develop a whole new pod for it, as this is one of my favourite pods and I’ve got plenty of them at home!

With the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2, you get some of the cleanest and crispest flavour from a pod, and these are arguably the best pods that Voopoo have developed yet.

You can throw pretty much any flavour blend in one of these and it will excel, enhancing all the flavour notes in your vape juice!

Pod Lifespan

Also, Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods boast some of the longest lifespan on the market from my experience. These just go on and on!

I’ll average around a week and a half of heavy vaping from a single pod, and I’m sure that I get more than 100ml worth of refills from them too!

Flavour consistency is spot on too, these pods seem to hold their flavour right up until burnt hits creep in, signifying that it is time to change your pod.

Airflow

On the side of the Argus Klyc is a sliding airflow control, which has buttery smooth travel and can be easily adjusted and fine-tuned just by using my thumb. Plus, once I have set my airflow, the airflow control stays in place!

There’s options here for mouth to lung and restricted lung vaping, though this does lean more towards the mouth to lung side.

Restricted lung vaping is only really an option with the airflow set to fully open, but it is great to see both mouth to lung and restricted lung vaping catered to!

Battery Life

There’s a 1350mAh high-density battery built into the device, and I found that this got my through an entire day quite comfortably.

Usually, it would only drop down to less than 20% around the time I got into bed, and I vape quite heavily!

Final Verdict

Voopoo have done it again with the Argus Klyc, they’ve developed a refillable pod device that blends smooth style with top level flavour performance!

I’ve got to say, in terms of looks and design, it’s one of my favourite pod systems from this year. I do love a minimalistic style, and the Voopoo Argus Klyc has this in spades- I especially love it with the protective cap on, making it almost monolithic in appearance.

Thanks to compatibility with the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2, you can enjoy some of the best flavour that a refillable pod system can deliver. And you also have compatibility with the rest of the Argus series of pods as well!

The integrated chip set does an excellent job of tailoring the power output to the resistance of your pod and your style, offering a smooth and consistent vape that really let me enjoy the flavours from my favourite e-liquids.

Design & Build Quality

As soon as I take the Voopoo Argus G3 out of the box, one of the most noticeable aspects is how small and lightweight it is, which comes as no surprise as it measures in at 95.3mm x 25.8mm x 13.7mm with the 2ml TPD compliant pod and weighs only 40.85g.

This small stature makes this an ideal device to carry round in my pocket, in fact I received two of these for review and could carry both of them around in my pocket at the same time without really noticing that they were there!

Voopoo have crafted the Argus G3 Mini from aluminium alloy and the build quality overall is pretty faultless, which is exactly what I have come to expect from Voopoo products over the years.

A Parisian nail pattern is present down either side of the device, which features a nice studded effect which some vapers might find appealing.

On either side, you’ll find the fixed airflow slots as well as the USB-C charging port.On the front of the device is a discreet, thin LED light bar that functions as a battery life indicator.

Pods connect magnetically to the Argus G3 Mini and these are held pretty firmly in place, though there is some wiggle room if I give them a wobble. I didn’t have any connection issues with the pod when using this device however!

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

One of the great aspects of the new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods is that these can be filled without having to remove the pod from the device, thanks to the handy location of the filling port.

At the side of the pod is a silicone filling port cover that you remove to access the generously sized filling port, with the filling port exposed insert the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle and fill the pod right up to the top whilst taking care not to overfill it.

When filling a brand new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pod for the first time, it is recommended that you allow the e-liquid to sit in the pod for five minutes before taking a puff, which allows the cotton in the coil to be fully saturated with e-liquid.

This will prolong the lifespan of the pod and cut down on the risk of you getting a nasty dry/burnt hit!

With the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods, you can even see the full e-liquid capacity of the pod, meaning that you are able to check exactly how much e-liquid is left inside at a glance.

Operation

No buttons or settings to worry about here, this is about as straightforward as vaping gets, once you have filled up your pod just take a puff on it to get vaping!

The LED indicator on the front of the device will glow white if the battery level is above 20%, and will change to red when under 20%.

Charging

The Argus G3 Mini charges at 5V/1A via USB-C, and a Type-C charging cable is included in the box.

As the charging port is located at the side of the device, you can charge it up whilst the Argus G3 Mini is laid on its side or stood up.

How Does The Voopoo Argus G3 Mini Perform?

As mentioned above, there’s no buttons or anything here, the Argus G3 Mini outputs up to a maximum of 30W (from a fully charged battery) which steadily decreases inline with the battery life.

Although I didn’t really notice any drastic drop off in performance until the battery LED was flashing red, it is pretty consistent throughout.

One of the key features of the Voopoo Argus G3 Mini is that it is compatible with the new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2, and there is a 0.7ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 included in the kit.

It is also compatible with the 0.4ohm and 1.0ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods, as well as the existing Argus family of pods.

Flavour is Impressive

In terms of pure flavour delivery, Voopoo have outdone themselves with the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods, I got to try these out previously when I reviewed the Argus G3 and these perform just as good with the Argus G3 Mini!

The flavour here feels so smooth and crisp, really elevating these pods above anything that Voopoo have produced before.

They are very versatile as well, performing exceedingly well with tobaccos, fruit flavours, desserts and just about any type of blend that you can throw at them!

Pod Lifespan

Longevity has always been a great aspect of Argus pods and this has been improved further with the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods.

I’ve been vaping these pods quite heavily since March, when I got the Argus G3 in for review, and on average these pods have been lasting around a week and a half of heavy daily vaping, which is right up there with the best on the market.

They are very consistent too, with no signs of flavour degradation right the way through to the end!

Airflow

Airflow on the Argus G3 Mini comes from two fixed airflow slots located on either side of the device, which draws air in underneath the pod.

This is surprisingly airy, and I would say that this provides more of a restricted direct lung hit than a mouth to lung one with the 0.7ohm pod, especially when the battery is fully charged.

I did try out a 1.0ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 and this did provide a better mouth to lung experience than the included 0.7ohm pod.

Battery Life

A high-density 1350mAh battery is built into the Argus G3 Mini, which comfortably provides all-day battery life with the 0.7ohm pod.

I actually took both devices that I received for review away to a weekend festival recently and only needed to give them a quick charge before heading home!

Final Verdict

I do enjoy a pick up and play device that I can just fill up and use right out of the box, and the Voopoo Argus G3 Mini has become a go to for me since I received it.

There’s no fuss involved here, thanks to the fantastic Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods I can enjoy an incredibly flavoursome vape that delivers some of the crispest and smoothest flavour that a pod mod can provide.

I don’t have to worry about battery life either, as I can vape away on the Argus G3 Mini all day without needing to recharge it.

This has pretty much everything you need wrapped up in a small pod mod package!

Design & Build Quality

If you’ve ever held an Argus pod system before, then you will know what to expect here.

Sleek lines, comfortable curves and rounded edges- exactly what I find on the Voopoo Argus G3!

Measurements wise, you’ve got a pod system that measures in at 120mm x 26.4mm x 15.1mm and weighs in at 65g.

Nine different colours are available, with Diamond White, Diamond Pink, Snow Blue, Moss Green, Aurora Blue, Aurora Purple, Pearl White, Space Gray and Midnight Black.

Display

An eye-catching feature on the Argus G3 is the 0.96″ TFT colour screen, which sits in the upper centre of the device.

This displays the battery life, coil resistance, output power and a puff count, and can be customised with three different themes and two different animations.

On one side of the device is the airflow control system, which features smooth travel and is easily operated by using my thumb, and on the opposite side to this is the power button.

There’s a fairly short throw on the power button and I did feel that there was some rattle present too.

As with previous Argus pods, the new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pod connects magnetically to the device and is held firmly in place, with no rattle that I could pick up on.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

Two Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pods are included in the box, which can be filled up without even having to remove the pod from the Argus G3 device.

These pods have been designed so that you can see the full e-liquid capacity and check exactly how much liquid is left in the pod at a glance.

• At the side of the pod, near the top, is a silicone filling port cover that just needs to be lifted up in order to access the filling port, which is large enough to accept pretty much any e-liquid bottle nozzle.
• Pop the nozzle of your selected e-liquid bottle in, and fill the pod up, taking care not to overfill it otherwise it will leak out of the side.

If you are filling up a brand new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pod for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the pod for five minutes before you start to vape, this allows the cotton in the coil to fully absorb the e-liquid, which in turn prolongs the lifespan of the pod and cuts down on the risk of burnt hits happening.

Operation

You can just fill up a pod and get vaping with the Argus G3, thanks to the auto draw system and smart mode automatically setting an output power depending on the coil resistance, but this device also has a few different options available to customise your vaping experience.

• To power the Voopoo Argus G3 on, click the function button three times.
• Click the function button twice to enter the mode selection menu, which allows you to switch between the different themes
• Three clicks of the function button allows you to adjust the wattage in 1W increments
• Five clicks of the function button takes you into the function menu, allowing you to power the device off, clear the puff count or lock the function button.
• Software can be upgraded by using the included Type-C cable and visiting the official Voopoo website.

Charging

A charging port is located at the base of the Argus G3, meaning that you will need to lay the device on its side to charge it.

A Type-C cable is included in the box for charging the device.

5V/2A charging is included in the Argus G3, so the 1500mAh battery charges up from flat to full in as little as 45 minutes!

How Does The Voopoo Argus G3 Perform?

As mentioned in the beginning of the review, the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pod makes its debut alongside the Voopoo Argus G3, and included in the kit is a 0.4ohm and a 0.7ohm pod so there are MTL and RDL vaping options out of the box, and both are a great fit for 10mg and 20mg nicotine salt e-liquids.

The Argus G3 is compatible with the Argus pod family as well, so you can make use of existing Argus pods!

Plenty of power is packed into this pod system, with an output power range of 5-30W available.

Flavour

Out of the box, the Argus G3 has the 0.7ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 pre-installed, which I immediately switched for the 0.4ohm version as I am predominantly a restricted direct-to-lung vaper!

I started off at 25W but felt that this pod performed best in the 27-30W range, depending on the e-liquid.

Argus pods have been some of my favourites when it comes to flavour delivery but the 0.4ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 tops the lot.

The flavour just feels even cleaner, crisper and smoother than it ever has!

The 0.7ohm pod is suited more to lower power vaping and a tighter draw, I felt that this pod worked best for MTL vaping as RDL draws felt a little weak and underpowered.

It’s still a flavour monster for a MTL pod, much like the 0.4ohm RDL one!

There’s definitely a noticeable improvement here over the original Argus Top Fill Cartridges, Voopoo really are pushing flavour delivery to the next level!

Pod Lifespan

I’ve always been impressed with the lifespan that I get from Argus pods, and the Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2

I was sent two Argus G3 devices for review, I’ve been running one of them with a 0.4ohm Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 and another with a 0.7ohm one, after over a week of solid use these show absolutely no signs of letting up.

There’s no noticeable flavour degradation and the vape is just as good as it was the day that I started to use them.

Top marks there Voopoo!

Airflow

On the side of the device is the airflow control, which allows for a restricted direct to lung vape when fully open, and this can be closed right down to a tight mouth to lung vape.

As expected from a Voopoo device, the Argus G3 is no slouch when it comes to clouds, even the vapour produced from a mouth to lung vape is pretty impressive!

Battery Life

A 1500mAh battery is built into the device, rechargeable with a USB Type-C cable. This is the same capacity as the battery found with the recently reviewed Argus Z2.

When vaping under 20W and using the 0.7ohm, I have no problems getting through a whole day without needing to recharge the Argus G3.

It does fall a little flat when using the 0.4ohm pod north of 25W however, lasting only around half a day on average especially with my chain vaping habits! That does mean that I need to carry a second device out and about with me as a backup.

Final Verdict

From having the pleasure of reviewing many of the Voopoo Argus pod mods over the years, I know that whenever I get a new one, I’m going to be in for a superb tasting vape!

That is what Argus devices do best, and the G3 is the latest to deliver on this front thanks to the new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2.

Voopoo have raised the bar with the new Argus Top Fill Cartridge V2 and produced a pod that delivers incredibly crisp and smooth flavour, really allowing you to pick up on all the nuances and flavour notes in your e-liquids.

Plus, like previous Argus pods, these last an absolute age too, saving you money in the long run!

Voopoo are positioning themselves right at the top of the pod system market and the Argus G3 is another outstanding addition to their already stellar line up.

What Can We Expect From The Voopoo Vinci Spark 220?

Voopoo want you to ‘reach for the stars’ with the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220, one of the lightest and yet most advanced 220W box mod kits on the market!

Featuring a metallic box design and an Aluminium Alloy construction, the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 weighs only 108 grams. Making it 30% lighter than other similar box mods.

It also provides an out of this world experience with the starlight panel display and nebula-styled animations.

There’s a multi-function button that allows you to fire the device and change the settings with an audible clicking sound. Plus a lock switch is present for convenience, allowing you to lock the device when not using it rather than having to turn it on and off.

I know Voopoo have done this before with devices like the Drag 5, but including a replacement glass tank section and spares such as O-rings for the Uforce-X tank really shows that Voopoo care about the customer experience. Rather than some other manufacturers that don’t include spare parts in the box.

Design & Build Quality

So, measurements wise, the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 measures 148mm x 45mm x 29mm including the Uforce-X tank and weighs 108g, which is actually quite light for a dual 18650 box mod.

There’s no mistaking it though, this is a big old kit and certainly not the most pocket friendly one you will get your hands on!

It does feel quite lightweight though, thanks to the aluminium alloy construction, yet at the same time it feels very solid and robust. The Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 has certainly stood up to the beating I have put it through since I received it and the finish has stood up to heavy use too!

I was sent the Dark Red version and my, this really is a gorgeous kit! I love how the Red colour gradually segues into Black. This really does look the part.

When you vape, not only does an animation play on the screen, but small white LEDs flash under the screen as part of the animated starlight coating. It’s a nice little touch that helps the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 stand out.

The 1.47″ TFT colour screen is another standout feature here, bigger and clearer than a lot of other similar box mods that I have used. This displays information such as the output wattage, output mode, puff count, coil resistance and also the individual status of each 18650 battery.

You also have the ability to customise the UI too, with three different themes available right out of the box.

Another unique feature of the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 is the multifunctional wheel button located on the side of the device. This gives you one button operation of the device, scrolling through settings by rotating the button or push it in to fire, with a satisfying audible click.

Opposite the wheel button is the locking switch, giving you the ability to lock the device at the flick of a switch when not in use. Just below this is the USB-C charging port.

On the rear of the device is a magnetic battery compartment cover, giving quick access to the battery compartment. The Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 takes two 18650 batteries, which are not included in the kit as standard.

The mod features a spring-loaded 510 threaded connector at the top, which you screw the included Uforce-X tank into for a secure connection. But this also gives you the ability to use other 510 threaded tanks if you so wish.

Uforce-X Tank

The second half of the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 kit is the Uforce-X tank. This features a Stainless Steel construction with a glass tank section and 510 threading for compatibility with the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 mod.

This tank features a 2ml capacity in TPD regulated markets and a 5.5ml capacity in markets outside of the TPD. A slide top filling mechanism at the top makes filling the tank easy and you can swap PnP X coils quickly via the base of the tank.

A top airflow design is used to leakproof the tank and there are two huge dual airflow intakes at the top that can be adjusted via the rotating airflow control. A wide bore drip tip is included with the tank, which can be replaced if you so wish.

In the kit, Voopoo provide a replacement tank section, which is handy if you accidentally break the glass in your Uforce-X tank. The replacement glass actually increases the capacity of the tank! So you’ll get a bump to 3.5ml or 6.5ml depending on which market you purchase the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 in.

Quick Start Guide

Battery Installation

Before you get underway with the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 kit, you’ll need two high-amp 18650 batteries, as the kit does not come with batteries included.

Make sure that the batteries are paired, from the same manufacturer and are rated for 25A and over!

Always make sure you purchase your batteries from a reputable vendor and do not store them loosely when not in use. We tell you more about battery safety in our guide here.

The battery compartment will house the batteries snugly. I highly recommend making use of the included battery ribbon and inserting your batteries on top of this, to make it easier to remove them.

Changing The Coil

After you have inserted your batteries, it’s time to decide whether you are going to make use of the 0.15ohm or 0.3ohm PnP X coil. These are both spare in the box and there isn’t a coil inserted in the Uforce-X tank to begin with.

Of course, as this tank is compatible with the range of PnP X coils, you can also use a wide range of different coil resistances.

Unscrew the base of the tank and simply slide your selected coil in, before screwing the base of the tank back on. Hey presto, you are almost ready to go, next it is time to fill the tank!

How to Fill the Tank

Voopoo have designed the Uforce-X tank to provide hassle free filling and it possesses a great sliding top fill system.

Locate the ‘push’ and triangle icon at the top of the tank and yes, give it a push to reveal the filling port.

Then pop your bottle nozzle in and fill the tank all the way up!

If you are using a new PnP X coil for the first time, let the e-liquid stand in the tank for five minutes before vaping. This is so that the cotton in the coil is fully saturated with e-liquid, thus prolonging the lifespan of the coil and reducing the chance of burnt or dry hits.

Operation

You are going to want to turn the device on and to do that simply press the multifunctional button five times. Pressing it five times again will turn it off.

To lock the device, rather than turning it off, push the locking switch (opposite to the multifunctional button) down and ‘LOCK SWITCH’ will be displayed on screen with a locked icon. Push the locking switch up to unlock the device and ‘UNLOCK’ will display on screen.

Adjusting the power output can be done by rotating the multifunctional button clockwise, rotating it counterclockwise will decrease the power output.

Clicking the power button five times will take you into the menu screen.

Menu options

• Mode: allows you to switch between Smart Mode (which automatically adjusts output power based on the resistance of the coil), RBA mode (which allows you to set your own output power setting from 5-220W) and TC-TCR for temperature controlled vaping.
• Theme: customise the UI with a choice of three different themes
• Switch: customise the locking switch to lock the whole device or just the wattage adjustment
• Animation: switch vaping animations on and off
• Light: switch the light display on and off
• Puff clean: clear all puff data
• Battery evaluation: evaluate the health of your batteries (only available with the 0.15ohm PnP X coil)
• About device: displays the current software version
• Exit: exits the main menu.

Software is also upgradable when using a USB Type-C data cable to connect the mod to your computer. The latest software versions will be available from the support page on Voopoo’s official website.

Charging

With any device that uses removable batteries, where possible you should charge the batteries up outside of the mod using a suitable external charger purchased from a reputable vendor.

If you do charge your batteries in the mod itself, then it is recommended that you use the included Type-C charging cable or one compatible with 5V/3A charging. Always ensure you are using a safe power source to charge the mod up and don’t charge it up out of sight.

Charging speeds will depend on the capacity of the batteries that you are using and the power output source.

Safety Features

Safety is paramount with the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 and this device boasts 8 second vaping overtime, short-circuit, low battery, overcharge, over temperature, output over-current and reverse battery polarity protections.

How Does The Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 Perform?

In the box, you get the 0.15ohm and 0.3ohm PnP X coils to try out. Voopoo leave it up to you to decide which one to use first as the Uforce-X tank does not have a coil pre-installed.

By using the PnP X platform, you get a large range of coils that are compatible with the Uforce-X tank, so you aren’t just restricted to the two included coils!

You can pick from 0.15ohm, 0.2ohm, 0.3ohm, 0.45ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.0ohm coils, offering options for mouth to lung right through to direct lung vaping.

That being said, the Uforce-X tank isn’t really set up for mouth to lung vaping. This is a tank designed for high-powered direct lung/restricted direct lung vaping, so ideally you won’t want to use a higher resistance coil than the 0.6ohm one at most. 0.15ohm to 0.45ohm ideally!

0.15ohm PnP X Coil

If you are looking at taking advantage of the sizeable amount of power that the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 is capable of outputting, then you’ll want to use the 0.15ohm PnP X coil.

This coil is capable of wicking high VG e-liquid quickly, making it an ideal one for high powered sub-ohm vaping and producing huge levels of dense, room filling vapour.

It isn’t just capable of chucking out the clouds, it provides a warm and tasty vape too.

A word of caution, the Uforce-X tank will get very warm when pushing high wattage through it and the vape itself will be quite hot too. To reduce this, vape in shorter bursts and make sure the airflow is opened right up.

0.3ohm PnP X Coil

I’ve had a lot of experience with the 0.3ohm PnP X coil over time and it remains one of my favourite stock coils to date!

This is perfect for my restricted lung vaping style and the flavour is absolutely fantastic in the 37-40W region. This coil really showcases the flavour notes in complex e-liquids and is a solid all-rounder with all types of e-liquid.

This can also produce some quite impressive levels of vapour too, especially in combination with the huge airflow slots on the Uforce-X tank!

Coil Lifespan

PnP X coils are touted to be able to withstand up to 100ml worth of refills. I’ve used them for a fair while but to be honest I have never measured exactly how much e-liquid they have got through!

On average, I will get over a weeks worth of use from one of these coils and they will wick pretty much any type of e-liquid you can throw at them. The design of the coil and the tank ensures I get a leak free vaping experience too.

At the time of writing I have been using this device on a daily basis and both the 0.15ohm and 0.3ohm coils are still going strong with no signs of flavour degradation yet!

Airflow

Just take a look at the airflow slots on the Uforce-X tank. They are absolutely huge!

Even just by looking at this tank, you can tell it means business in the vapour department.

Airflow is adjusted by rotating the incredibly smooth airflow control ring and the selected airflow setting stays in place too. I haven’t had issues with it accidentally adjusting in my pocket.

With the airflow slots set to fully open, this delivers room-filling levels of vapour, even with it closed down. Most definitely an unrestricted lung hit here! When you close the airflow down this will still kick out clouds that compete with the best of them.

I will usually run this with the airflow set to around a third open with the 0.3ohm coil and I find that plenty enough for me.

Battery Life

Battery life will be dependent on the capacity of the 18650 batteries that you are using in the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220, as well as coil resistance and wattage level.

When using Molicell 2800mAh 25A batteries, I will get a full days worth of vaping with the 0.3ohm PnP X coil in the 35-40W region.

When using the 0.15ohm PnP X coil and cranking the wattage up, I’ll only get a few hours of use before I need to charge my batteries back up!

Temperature Controlled Vaping

Temperature Controlled Vaping is supported by the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220. Its supports Ni200, Titanium, SS316 and SS430 coils, with an adjustable temperature range of 200-600F/ 100-315C.

I didn’t have any temperature controlled compatible coils to test out with this device I am afraid, though the option is there if you are a TC vaper!

Final Verdict

With the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220, Voopoo really cement themselves at the top of the sub ohm box mod vaping game and they continue to find new ways to set the bar for everyone else.

This is a device that is packing it all, from great looks, to all the power you could pretty much need in your hands. Even temperature controlled vaping is catered for, which is something I don’t often see with box mods these days!

It’s also customisable too, so you can personalise your device and ensure that it turns heads.

I’m pleased to see that following on from the Drag 5, Voopoo have continued to use the Uforce-X tank as this is one of the best sub ohm tanks around.

Plus, by having compatibility with the PnP X coil platform, there are loads of different coils to choose from. These are widely sold with lots of online and bricks and mortar vendors, making it easy to get hold of replacements.

If you are after a full fat, high powered box mod then the Voopoo Vinci Spark 220 is definitely one to consider. I’ve really struggled to find any faults with this one at all, and it’s a lovely looking device too!

This is the largest battery in the current Argus family of pod systems. Voopoo expect that you can get up to five days of use from a single full charge. That is pretty impressive if that is the case!

Voopoo have designed the Argus Z2 to be as easy to use as a disposable vape. With the Argus Z2 being a draw activated, buttonless, refillable pod system with no learning curve required. You can simply take it out the box, fill it and vape it.

The chip in the device even smartly detects the resistance of the coil in the pod and sets the power output accordingly for you. The Argus Z2 is able to output up to a maximum of 20W.

The Argus Z2 is compatible with existing Argus pods, so there’s a wide range of different resistances to pick from. The benefits of the Argus pods include excellent flavour, 30 day leak free design and extended pod lifespan.

Design & Build Quality

Dimensions-wise, the Voopoo Argus Z2 measures 90.3mm x 27.5mm x 15.3mm. What has impressed me is just how light this device feels in the hand and I barely notice it in my pocket!

The device is constructed from Plastic and Stainless steel with a 3D laser etched design that has a delicate patterned texture. Edges on the device are rounded so that it sits comfortably in the palm of my hand.

Argus pods connect magnetically to the device and are held firmly in place, with no noticeable wobble present and the connection is solid.

Overall, I wouldn’t say that the build quality is premium, but it does the job for a device such as this one.

Quick Start Guide

How To Fill The Pod

A 0.7ohm Argus top fill pod comes in the kit and you can actually fill the pod up without needing to remove it from the device.

The filling port is located near the top of the pod on the side and you lift up the silicone cover to reveal the filling port. Fill the pod up with your e-liquid of choice.

Make sure to let the e-liquid sit in the pod for five minutes if you are filling up a fresh pod for the first time. This allows the cotton in the coil to absorb the e-liquid fully, prolonging the lifespan and cutting down on the risk of nasty dry or burnt tasting puffs.

The design of the pod also means that you can see exactly how much e-liquid you have left in the pod at a glance.

Operation

Voopoo have designed the Argus Z2 to be a pick up and play device and there’s no buttons to be found here.

Simply take an inhale on the device mouthpiece to fire it and that is pretty much it!

There’s a basic LED on the front of the device, which glows White when vaping. It will change to Red when the battery is about to run out.

Charging

A USB-C charging port is located on the side of the device, compatible with a 5V/1A charging rate.

This does mean that charging from a flat battery isn’t the quickest, given the 1500mAh battery capacity and a full charge can take around 45 minutes.

I would have loved to have seen the addition of 2A fast charging here. It was a feature present on the Argus P1s, which would speed up that charging time further!

Safety Features

Seven safety features are built into the Argus Z2. These are: 5 second vaping cut off, short-circuit protection, overcharge protection, output over-current protection, low battery protection, overheating protection and max power protection.

How Does The Voopoo Argus Z2 Perform?

You get a 0.7ohm Argus Top Fill pod included in the kit, which sets you up nicely for a mouth to lung (MTL) vape. It provides great performance with 10mg and 20mg nicotine salt based e-liquids.

The Argus Z2 is compatible with existing Argus pods. You can also use the 0.4ohm and 1.0ohm Argus Top Fill pods, as well as the 0.7ohm and 1.2ohm standard Argus pods. This gives you a good choice of different styles of pod to experiment with.

Power output is fixed, with the Argus Z2 able to output a maximum of 20W. The power output steadily decreases in line with the battery charge decreasing. However I didn’t notice a drastic drop off in power output until the battery was almost empty. It’s a pretty consistent vape throughout.

Flavour

I’ve got to say, in this price range for a refillable pod system, this is one of the most flavourful vapes that you are going to get.

These are set up for long and slow mouth to lung draws. Really allowing me to savour the flavour of my e-liquids, but they also work equally well for shorter puffs.

The flavour delivery is absolutely spot on with Argus pods and these really do excel with fruity, nicotine salt based e-liquids.

Pod Lifespan

I’m quite well versed with Argus pods, having used them in a number of different Argus devices in the past. These have some of the longest lifespan out of any pod on the market today, saving you from having to repeatedly purchase new pods.

I’ve averaged around a week and a half to two weeks from a single Argus pod, with no leaks and barely any condensation build up at all. These can be quite thirsty on e-liquid however, especially if you are chain vaping!

Airflow

The airflow is fixed on the Argus Z2, providing a mouth to lung vape, although there’s some thought in the design and placement of the airflow holes.

They’ve been placed to provide airflow directly through the base of the pod. Also handily their positioning means that you shouldn’t accidentally cover up the device airflow inlet slots when using the Argus Z2.

This is a bit of an annoying issue that I’ve encountered on quite a few pod systems in the past and thankfully I didn’t have a problem with that when using the Argus Z2.

Unless you’ve got massive hands, you shouldn’t have any issues with accidentally covering up the airflow slots!

Battery Life

I’ve got to say, the 1500mAh battery really does power you through extended vaping sessions.

I’m usually pretty happy if I get a full day’s use out of a refillable pod system such as this one. But the Argus Z2 gets even longer than that for me!

I’ve managed almost three days from it when using it in rotation with another device and I vape pretty heavily!

Pros

Final Verdict

The Voopoo Argus range has grown to offer a huge amount of different vaping options and the Argus Z2 is a solid, entry-level addition to this excellent range.

It gives people a way into refillable pod systems at a very competitive price. The Argus Z2 is available in the UK for under £10 at most online retailers that I’ve seen, which gives you a lot of device for your money.

That is less than the cost of two disposable vapes, for a device which will serve you far longer!

But, the Argus Z2 doesn’t only just serve as an entry level pod system. This would also make for a great backup device for a more experienced vaper. Especially if you are after a budget device with great battery life to take with you on a weekend away.

For under £10 you are getting a kit compatible with the excellent Argus pod family, so you’ll benefit from excellent flavour and some of the best pod longevity on the market.

The Vinci E120 joins a long line of Voopoo Vinci devices and we’ve taken a look at quite a lot of these in the past. Including reviews on the Voopoo Vinci 3, Vinci Pod Kit, Vinci Q, Vinci Pod SE and Vinci Pod Royal edition to name but a few.

What Can We Expect From The Voopoo Vinci E120?

Voopoo want you to ‘Dial into the Future’ with the Vinci E120! A device adorned with a customisable luxury watch face, a host of space age features and a lot of power in your hands!

There’s a 2.4″ large TFT screen boasting a large range of 18 different watch-face screensavers. This allows you to personalise your device to your tastes and have a pod kit that boasts a stand-out high-end feel to it. This one is sure to turn heads!

You haven’t really got to worry about battery life with the Voopoo Vinci E120, as this is packing one of the largest built in batteries ever seen in a pod system. It features a whopping 4500mAh high-density battery and it still manages to remain 50% lighter than other similar pod systems!

With that huge battery capacity, you can expect to get up to 10 day’s worth of vaping from a single charge. The Vinci E120 possesses fast charging capabilities to ensure you haven’t got to wait around for your device to charge up.

It’s no slouch on power either, as this can output up to 120W. You can manually adjust the output or use the option of the device smartly selecting the power output depending on the resistance of the coil used in your pod.

Voopoo’s PnP X coil platform is much vaunted and the Vinci E120 utilises this. You get pure flavour out of these coils, thanks to their mesh coil design and optimal wicking ports.

Design & Build Quality

Well, this really is a stunner of a device! Upon taking it out of the box, I felt that the Vinci E120 looks like a very high-end piece of kit, with looks and a design that is sure to turn heads.

Dimensions wise, this measures 115mm x 23.6mm x 46.6mm and features a box-shaped design, with rounded edges so that it sits comfortably in the hand.

On first impressions I thought it was going to be a bit bulky to hold but after using it for a while, it really isn’t. The Vinci E120 is a comfortable device to use and it doesn’t feel too weighty either.

One of the stars of the show here is that glorious 2.4″ TFT screen on the front of the device. It offers an outstanding level of clarity in bright and low light conditions.

You’ve got the usual info displayed in colour on the screen. You can clearly see the battery life, power output, coil resistance, puff count and puff time and the time of day is displayed. A clock-themed screensaver will display on the device shortly after you use it.

Added bonus- you can also use this device as a clock!

The clock themes are customisable too but out of the box you only have two options with a total of 18 available. You need to unlock the others by vaping on the device! You unlock new themes when you reach different puff counts.

The Voopoo Vinci E120 runs on the Voopoo PnP X ecosystem, which I’ll go into a bit further in the review.

You get the Voopoo PnP X Direct to Lung (DTL) pod cartridge in the kit and coils can be replaced from the base of the cartridge quickly and easily.

The PnP DTL cartridge connects to the device magnetically and it is held in place firmly with no issues with it accidentally coming loose.

The build quality overall is excellent. This feels like a very well machined device with no sharp edges or rattly bits and it absolutely looks the part too.

PnP X Coil Platform

As mentioned in this review, the Voopoo Vinci E120 is compatible with the Voopoo PnP X ecosystem.

This involves a cartridge tailored to a specific vaping style and the ability to swap coils unlike other pod systems which feature a fixed coil in the pod.

You get a Vinci DTL pod included in the box, tailored to direct lung vaping, with mouth-to-lung (MTL), restricted direct lung (RDL) and ‘E’ cartridges available separately. We tell you what the terms DTL, RDL and MTL mean in our Guide To Vape Styles.

There is a large range of different coils available to use.

Choose from resistances of 0.15ohm, 0.2ohm, 0.3ohm, 0.45ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.0ohm. You are bound to find one that suits your own vaping style!

Quick Start Guide

How To Fill The Pod

You’ll need to fill the pod before you get going and you don’t even need to remove it from the device in order to do so.

The filling port cover is located near the top of the pod, you just pop this open, insert your bottle nozzle and fill the pod up.

If you are using a fresh coil for the first time you should let e-liquid sit in the pod for five minutes. This allows the cotton to fully absorb the e-liquid, prolonging the lifespan of the coil and reducing the chances of nasty dry and burnt hits occurring.

Changing The Coil

Thanks to Voopoo’s PnP technology, you can change coils easily. You simply pull the coil out from the base of the pod and slide a new one in.

Smartly, the GENE. T.T chip present in the device will automatically detect the resistance of the coil and set a suitable power output. However you can change this manually by using the + and – buttons on the side of the device.

Operation & Navigating The Menu

Five clicks of the power button will turn the Vinci E120 on and off.

To access the menu, hold the + and – buttons down simultaneously.

Navigating the menu is done using those buttons and you press the power button to confirm your selection. Menu options available are:

• Clock theme: allows you to customise the clock-face and theme
• Time calibration: allows you to set the time
• Screen lock: set the screen timeout period
• Exit: self explanatory!

Charging

The charging port is located on the side of the Vinci E120 and you do get a USB-C cable included in the kit.

5V/2A fast charging is featured here, which charges the device up quickly for one that packs such a large battery!

Handily, when the device is charging, not only to you get the battery displayed on screen but it will also tell you how many minutes is left until the battery is fully charged, which is a great touch from Voopoo.

Safety Protections

Seven safety protections are built in. These are: short circuit, overcharge, over-current, low battery, high temperature, maximum power protections and an 8 second vaping cut off.

A locking switch is located on the side allowing you to quickly lock and unlock the device for safety without needing to turn the device on and off.

How Does The Voopoo Vinci E120 Perform?

A 0.3ohm PnP X coil is already installed in the pod with a 0.15ohm coil included in the box, I’ll go into how these perform in a bit more detail below.

What I did note when using the Vinci E120 is that there’s virtually no ramp up time whatsoever when hitting the power button, this device fires instantaneously!

With this being a pod system, I’m very used to an auto-draw function so the device fires when you take a puff, without needing a power button. However there’s no auto-draw function here which took some getting used to at first! I’d love to see an auto-draw function on a future Vinci model like this one.

The coils will wick virtually any e-liquid that you can throw at them and coil lifespan is absolutely excellent too. I’ve been a long term user of the PnP X coils and these get well over a week’s worth of use even with high VG e-liquids.

0.15ohm Coil

This coil is recommended by Voopoo for use in the 60-80W range, so this is definitely for direct to lung vaping with the airflow open and big vapour production!

And this does excel at producing massive clouds of vapour, the most I’ve ever got from a pod that is for sure!

Flavour is still damn good even at high power. But the vape may be a little warm for some and the mouthpiece does get a bit toasty with repeated chain vaping at high wattage.

0.3ohm Coil

This coil has a recommended power range of 32-40W. 40W is the maximum that you will be able to use as the device will display ‘max power’ and will not allow you to go past that when you hit 40W.

I found that the sweet spot was right in the middle at 35W. This provided me with some truly excellent flavour and a slightly warm vape, perfect for my custards that I was vaping. The vapour production was no slouch either as I’ll detail below!

Out of the two, the 0.3ohm coil was my preferred option as I felt that the flavour was better here.

Airflow

When it comes to cloud production, this is an absolute beast of a pod system!

Having the RDL pod with the 0.3ohm and 0.15ohm coils included in the kit really allowed me to test out the cloud capabilities of this device. When you open the airflow right up and crank up the power you can seriously fill up a room in no time.

In fact, you don’t even really need to open the airflow up nor push the power limits of this device to produce some anti-social levels of vapour. This was annoying my wife at 35W with the airflow half open!

The Vinci E120 boasts a buttery smooth airflow control on the side of the device that is easy to adjust with my thumb and it will cater to all styles of vaping as a result.

On the opposite side to the airflow is a smaller airflow intake, which is designed for use with the MTL pod.

Essentially these pods have airflow intakes on the base so you can rotate the MTL pod to align the airflow intake at the base with the smaller airflow slot if you prefer a tighter draw.

It doesn’t make any difference with the DTL pod as this has two large airflow intakes on the base.

Battery Life

I was pretty taken aback when I saw that this was packing a 4500mAh built in high-density battery. That is the biggest I have come across on a pod system like this!

I’m quite used to pod systems lasting me a day before needing to charge them and I’m usually happy with that, but this thing just keeps on going.

From a full charge, using the 0.3ohm coil at 35W, I was getting well into three days of use. That makes this a device absolutely ideal for a weekend away and I never had to worry about the battery life when using the Vinci E120.

Absolutely exceptional battery life!

Final Verdict

It seems like Voopoo have really tried to think of everything needed in a pod system when designing the Vinci E120 and this device is near enough the full package.

I like the fact that this is a pretty simple, yet powerful, device to use and people won’t get overawed by a vast range of different menu options. The Vinci E120 keeps it simple yet still offers an excellent range of customisation and plenty of power.

When I think of Voopoo PnP X coils, I think ‘flavour’ from past experiences and these deliver a truly supreme, flavoursome vape. Honestly if you are a flavour junkie and want to experience all the flavour notes your e-liquids have to provide, then these coils are some of the best on the market in that field.

I’ve got to say that it performs so well and the battery lasts so long. This device has become an all day carry for me and one that I don’t leave home without.

Voopoo’s Vinci E120 is a device that pretty much does it all. It’s got the looks, the features and it certainly has the performance to boot too!

Plenty of puffs here for starters, as the Voopoo Argus Bar Pro Max is capable of delivering up to a whopping 6000 puffs. Giving you plenty of vaping for your money!

Voopoo have designed the Argus Bar Pro Max to be set up easily. Once the pre-filled 10ml refill container and 2ml pod have been set up you’ve got a huge 12ml of e-liquid in your device to keep you going. You simply take a draw on the device to vape it.

Built into the pod is a 0.8ohm mesh coil, which is able to heat up your e-liquid at a fast rate and it generates richer vapour and purer flavour.

You get a 700mAh battery built into the device, to keep you vaping all day long and this recharges quickly via USB-C. There’s also the ability to precisely monitor the battery level, thanks to the intuitive smart screen indicator.

Voopoo have also had one eye on sustainability too, as the battery can be easily removed in order to recycle it once you have used up your e-liquid.

The Argus Bar Pro Max has been ergonomically designed, so that you can get a snug and comfortable grip on the device. The crystal texture offers a stylish design and a nice feel to it, making for a fashionable looking device.

A massive 20 different flavours are available to choose from. Ranging from candy, fruit, soda-style, menthol and tobacco flavours. Each one has 20mg nicotine salt for a fast acting nicotine hit with minimal throat feel.

Design & Build Quality

There’s no mistaking it, with dimensions of 126.7mm x 29.4mm x 29.4mm and packing a 12ml overall capacity once put together, this is a bit of a beast of a device!

Even though it is big and weighty, this is pretty nice to hold in the hand. But I wouldn’t exactly say that this was a pocket-friendly device. The Polycarbonate construction feels very solid and the see through crystal design is an eye-catcher.

Pleasingly, for me anyway, you can quite clearly see how much e-liquid you have left in the refill container, as there’s a transparent design. This is handy for judging when it is time to grab yourself another Argus Bar Pro Max!

On the side of the device is the intuitive smart screen indicator which shows you how much battery you have left as a percentage and activates when you take a puff.

When it is time to recharge the battery, plug a USB-C charging cable into the port on the opposite side of the screen.

There’s a 700mAh battery included here, which you can actually remove by holding the two buttons down that are located on the side of the device and sliding the battery downwards. You can then safely recycle the battery once you are done with your device. Brownie points for sustainability there Voopoo!

Quick Start Guide

The Voopoo Argus Bar Pro Max comes in two parts and you need to put the kit together in order to use it. Thankfully, this is really easy to do and takes absolutely no time at all!

Firstly, you need to remove the silicone stopper from the mouthpiece of the kit and pull out the silicone located beneath the mouthpiece. Then take the refill container out of the packaging, removing the silicone and stickers and press it downwards into the device.

Hey presto, you are ready to vape! Once you have completed those easy steps, simply inhale on the device mouthpiece in order to use it.

Charging

You’ve got a USB-C charging port here…but no USB-C charging cable is included in the box. So you’ll have to make do with an existing one you have or purchase a new one!

I was unable to find the specs for the charging time, but one of these devices will charge from flat to full in just under an hour.

Flavours

A whopping 20 different flavours are available at launch and these are:

Blueberry Sour Raspberry, Cherry Cola, Juicy Peach, Pink Lemonade, Watermelon Ice, Triple Mango, Blueberry, Strawberry Kiwi, Blue Razz Lemonade, Green Apple Ice, Lemon Lime, Pineapple Ice, Blackcurrant Lemonade, Tobacco, Strawberry Watermelon, Blueberry Raspberry, Spearmint, Kiwi Passionfruit Guava, Summer Dream and Tropical Rainbow.

Voopoo kindly sent us five of these to test out and here are my thoughts on them…

Lemon Lime

I found this one to be very similar tasting to the Argus Bar Prime version that I reviewed last month.

So that is to say that this is a solid Lemon Lime flavour that tastes very much like a lemon and lime Ice Pop. A cooling sensation present adds to that effect. It did taste a little bit stronger than the Argus Bar Prime version however and sweeter too.

I get both lemon and lime flavours at the same time, with the lemon perhaps just a touch more prominent than the lime flavouring. There’s sharp citrusy notes to this and it is very sweet as well, so definitely in line with a disposable styled vape!

Blue Razz Lemonade

I’m definitely getting the lemonade as the stronger flavour here. This is a really zingy, sweet and fizzy lemonade that washes straight over my palate as soon as I start taking a puff.

This combines with a blue raspberry flavour that has a hint of sourness to it and quite a thick texture too, this flavour adds even more sweetness to the blend.

I detected what tasted like a floral note in the background, which I found to be quite pleasant. Making this one taste a little different to a lot of the other Blue Razz Lemonade flavours that I have tried out!

Pink Lemonade

Again this is another flavour that is heavy on the lemonade. The lemonade flavouring possessed the same characteristics as the one present in Blue Razz Lemonade above.

Although I felt that the flavouring was a little stronger in this one!

There’s a red berry undertone running through it that plays second fiddle to the lemonade flavouring and I get a lot of sweetener too. So, this is definitely a good pick if you like a really sweet pink lemonade flavour.

There’s a prominent fizz to this one as well, I really could pick up on a lot of fizziness here. Weirdly, I could feel the fizz in my cheeks after vaping this!

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

I really enjoyed the Blueberry Sour Raspberry flavour when I checked out the Argus Bar Prime range recently and yet again Voopoo are onto a winner here with the Pro Max version.

To me, this felt like the flavour was amplified even more than the Argus Bar Prime version. There’s definitely a more pronounced sour note to this and plenty of thick and syrupy blueberry and raspberry flavouring to boot.

One of the best Blueberry Sour Raspberry blends that I have tried!

Pineapple Ice

If Voopoo were aiming to create a pineapple juice styled flavour here, then they most certainly have nailed the blend!

For me, it’s a sweet pineapple juice flavour that tastes like it is fresh out of the fridge thanks to the pretty robust icy chill that runs through it. And of course there’s a fair amount of sweetener in the blend too that leaves a sweet tasting coating on my tongue!

One way to sum this one up would be that it is sweet, strong and punchy, just how I like my pineapple ice flavours to be.

The airflow is fixed on the device, along with the power output, so there is no way of changing it. I would love to see an Argus Bar Pro Max with adjustable airflow and wattage in the future!

Draw wise, this is more on the looser side when it comes to a mouth to lung airflow. It certainly isn’t cigarette-style tight and as you would expect from a Voopoo device, this can deliver some surprisingly large clouds for a mouth to lung kit!

There’s a 700mAh battery here and during my testing this easily got me through a full day’s worth of vaping before I needed to pop it on for a charge. And I vape quite heavily.

Having the ability to see exactly how much battery life you have left thanks to the smart screen indicator is a real bonus.

From what I could find out online, these only come in 20mg nicotine salt strength. Voopoo seem to have tailored the output power just right as my nicotine cravings were satisfied after a couple of puffs on one of these.

Plus, despite the high nicotine strength, I didn’t get any harsh or nasty throat hit from an Argus Bar Pro Max, it was just smooth flavour each and every puff!

So, How Many Puffs Will I Actually Get From One Of These?

Voopoo quite proudly state that one of these can deliver up to 6000 puffs. But figures like that are usually obtained in laboratory testing simulating puffs of around one second.

So, if you take really short puffs then yes you may likely get in the region of 6000. I take quite long draws when I vape, in the region of 3-4 seconds. Longer puffs will usually reduce the puff count as more e-liquid is used per puff.

As a guide, based off of my own 3-4 second long puffs on the device, I got 3,902 puffs from the Blue Razz Lemonade flavoured Argus Bar Pro Max. That is basically a weeks’ worth of vaping for me for just under £12!

Your own puff count will vary depending on your own vaping style and how frequently you vape.

Final Verdict

I’m a fan of Voopoo products. I’ve bought, used and reviewed plenty of them in my time and I just know when I use a Voopoo product that it is going to perform solidly and be reliable. That’s exactly what I get from the Voopoo Argus Bar Pro Max here.

This has got to be one of the more robust and solidly built kits of its kind. It’s also one of the largest too so be prepared for that if you are picking one of these up! Even though it is big, I’m a fan of the looks and the transparent crystal effect really does look the part.

Anyone can pick up one of these kits and get vaping with one in no time at all. They are dead easy to put together and get vaping on, making this a fuss-free convenient vaping option. Great for taking away for a weekend for example!

Flavour-wise, these do the job and definitely hit the spot. I could take long and smooth inhales on one of these kits, really allowing me to savour the flavour. And Voopoo definitely haven’t skimped on flavour quality here!

These won’t hit your wallet too hard either. With these costing in the region of £12 per kit, considering you are getting 12ml of e-liquid included that makes one of these a more cost-effective and attractive proposition compared to your usual 2ml disposable vape.

They have got a huge range of products to pick from, encompassing quite the spectrum, from beginner pod vapes right through to powerful variable wattage mods, such as the Drag 5, and sub-ohm tanks.

There’s something for pretty much every type of vaper to pick from, and with the Argus Bar Prime range there’s even more choice now!

We’ve taken a look at quite a few different Voopoo products recently, such as the P1, P1s, G, Pod SE, and XT, Argus G2 Mini, and most recently the Argus E40 pod system which is a personal favorite of mine, and it is a pod system I am still using months on from my review!

What Can We Expect From The Voopoo Argus Bar Prime?

Voopoo have become well known for their quality products, with their Argus line proving particularly popular, and the Argus Bar Prime is the latest addition to this stellar line-up!

This is a ‘big puff’ disposable vape kit, which can offer up to 6000 puffs, thanks to the huge 10ml refill container that you insert into the device.

And you have plenty of flavours to pick from, with 20 at launch, ranging from fruity blends right through to soda-inspired flavours and there’s even a tobacco option!

Built into the device is a 650mAh battery, which powers a 0.8ohm coil designed for maximum flavour and vapour enjoyment.

Voopoo have also put battery management front and center, as battery life is intelligently monitored and displayed on a large screen on the front of the device.

When it’s time to recharge, the USB-C fast charging will get you back vaping in no time at all. And once it’s time to dispose of the device, you can remove the battery for recycling.

You also have adjustable airflow here, so you can open this up or close it down to tailor the airflow to your own preferences. The Argus Bar Prime is available in 20mg nicotine salt strength.

Design and Build Quality

I can just tell that these have been designed with ergonomics in mind, as with dimensions of 23.3mm x 45mm x 96.7mm, these little devices just fit perfectly in the palm of my hand, plus their mini footprint makes them very pocket-friendly too.
These come in eight different colours, across a total of twenty different flavour options.

A large screen is present on the front of the device, which shows battery life clearly as a percentage, making it easy to know when it is time to pop the Argus Bar Prime on for a charge.

And once the e-liquid has run out, and it is time to dispose of your device, you can actually slide the battery out so that it can be safely recycled, which gives the Argus Bar Prime some sustainability points there!

Next to the battery compartment is where the large 10ml e-liquid container goes, and this slots in nicely with a satisfying click.

The overall design of the device, and the large screen in particular, reminded me of a character from the Among Us computer game, and I couldn’t help thinking that it looked a little ‘sus’ every time I used it!

Quick Start

There’s a super simple set-up process with an Argus Bar Prime device, so you can get vaping one of these really quickly.

Remove the silicone covers from the mouthpiece and the base of the device, push down and twist the cap on the 10ml refill container, slide it into the Argus Bar Prime, invert it to fill the 2ml pod, and you are all set.

Just don’t remove the refill container once it has been installed or it is likely to leak!

An auto-draw system is used on the Argus Bar Prime, so you only need to take a draw on the device to fire it. You can adjust the airflow to open it up or close it down as you wish by using the airflow slider on the side.

Charging

Charging the internal 650mAh battery is done via USB-C, but you’ll need to supply your own cable as one isn’t included in the kit.

Thanks to the built-in fast charging, this device charges back up in no time at all, you are looking at around 30 minutes maximum for a full charge!

Flavours

All in all, there are a massive twenty different flavour options to pick from here, ranging from fruit blends, soda-inspired mixes right through to tobacco and menthol!

Available flavours are: Blackcurrant Lemonade, Blue Razz Lemonade, Blue Sour Raspberry, Blueberry, Blueberry Raspberry, Cherry Cola, Green Apple Ice, Juicy Peach, Kiwi Passionfruit Guava, Lemon Lime, Pineapple Ice, Pink Lemonade, Spearmint, Strawberry Kiwi, Strawberry Watermelon, Summer Dream, Tobacco, Triple Mango, Tropical Rainbow, and Watermelon Ice.

Voopoo kindly sent over five from the range to try out, and here are my thoughts on them. No flavour descriptions were available from the manufacturer, but the flavours on offer are quite straightforward!

Blueberry

This carries a lighter blueberry flavouring than a lot of the others that I have tried recently, there’s less of that ‘in your face’ berry than what I am used to.

The level of sweetener is quite well balanced as well, whereas a lot of disposable blueberry flavours are quite heavy on the sweetener, this one is less so.

There’s a very light, almost floral taste to this one and I pick this up in the background. It’s quite a nice and enjoyable addition, making this taste a little less sweet.

Strawberry Watermelon

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this is a blend containing watermelon that I actually liked! What magic are you working here Voopoo??

This worked well for me because the watermelon was a much lighter flavour in the background, and it has been balanced out really well with the strawberry, complimenting it nicely and adding some ‘watery’ and sweet notes.

Strawberry was definitely the more dominant note in this two-flavour blend, and it left me with a sweet strawberry aftertaste too.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

This is good stuff, I vaped through this one pretty quickly I must say! It’s the sour note that does it for me here, it’s quite well done and definitely more pronounced than what I am used to.

I get this right in the middle of the blueberry and raspberry flavourings, it seems like a nice sour twang comes in right in the middle. Blueberry comes in first, then the sour note, before the raspberry finishes it all off.

It’s simply done, but mixed really well, and just how a blueberry sour raspberry flavour should be presented. Really tasty stuff!

Lemon Lime

I’m a sucker for a lemon and lime blend but this one was pretty middle of the road, there’s nothing here really that is much different from all the other lemon and lime blends out there!

You won’t go wrong with it though if you like a lemon and lime flavour and want to see what the Voopoo Argus Bar is all about.

To me, it’s a lemon lime flavour that is much like a lemon and lime ice pop. I get both of the flavours at the same time, with a sharp citrus note and quite a bit of sweetener.

There’s also a slight cooling effect too right at the end, and it does leave me with a little tingle on my tongue!

Strawberry Kiwi

With most of the strawberry kiwi blends that I have tried, the strawberry tends to be far and away the most dominant note, with the kiwi either a very weak note or not detectable at all.

Now the strawberry here is definitely the strongest flavour note, but it doesn’t hide the kiwi, I can still pick up on that as a nice background flavour that compliments the sweet strawberry with its sour notes.

The strawberry was a candied, sweet strawberry flavouring that also had quite a thick mouthfeel to it, like a chewy strawberry sweet.

As strawberry kiwi blends go, this one is one of the better ones that I have tried out!

How Does The Voopoo Argus Bar Prime Perform?

You’ve got adjustable airflow on the Argus Bar Prime, on the side of the device you’ll spot a small airflow slider.

This allows you to adjust the airflow, and you can go from a mouth-to-lung vape up to a restricted lung one (just about!).
Flavour delivery overall is pretty smooth, providing a satisfying inhale on each puff, and the flavours I got to try out were pretty strong and tasty overall. The 20mg nicotine salt also definitely hit the spot for me!

I do have to say that the pod can be prone to flooding if the device is accidentally left inverted, as the e-liquid from the refill container will be drawn up into the pod. This didn’t happen too often thankfully, but when it did I was left with e-liquid in my mouth which isn’t the nicest!

Battery life actually isn’t the greatest here, and I found that it ran down pretty quickly when frequently puffing away on an Argus Bar Prime.

Though a big plus point here is just how quickly this device charges, it’s very fast at charging up!

How Many Puffs Do You Get From A Voopoo Argus Bar Prime?

Voopoo say that the Argus Bar Prime is able to offer up to 6000 puffs, and how much you will get out of one of these is dependent on how frequently you take a puff on it and how long you take a draw for.

Over the course of nearly a week, I made a tally of how many puffs I took on the Lemon Lime flavoured one.

I got 3,790 puffs out of it, and that was with me taking quite long and slow draws on the device.

Obviously, that isn’t quite 6000 puffs, but it is still a lot of vaping for your money there, you’ll certainly get a lot more value for money out of buying one of these compared to a handful of disposables.

Keep in mind, if your vaping style is different (shorter, sharper drags) then you may hit nearer the 6000 mark.

It took me around six days to get through a whole one of these, but I was vaping this in conjunction with other vape kits that I own, rather than solely vaping this device alone, but that’s six days worth of vaping for around £12!

Final Verdict

Voopoo’s Argus brand has become one of the most extremely well-regarded ones in the industry thanks to solid performance and build quality, and the Argus Bar Prime is another great product bearing the Argus name.

You know that when you are purchasing an Argus product, you are getting a quality device, and the Argus Bar Prime is no different.

What I particularly liked about using the Argus Bar Prime devices was the simplicity of it, you can simply load in the refill container and get vaping from the get-go, with no settings or anything to play around with, other than a simple airflow control.

And the five flavours that I got to try out were very impressive as well, definitely making me want to try more of the range out, I mean if they can get me to like a flavour blend that contains watermelon then they are definitely doing something right!

Finally, you’ve got really good value for money here. There are plenty of retailers in the UK stocking these for between £11-13, with some offering multi-buy deals, and you do get a lot of vaping here for your money.
