A Multi Option Vape Kit – So How Does the Series 3X by Vapour2 Vape?

Vapour2, also well known as V2, is a USA based company that is available in the Uk and Europe. This device is one of their latest in a long line of seemingly popular vape kits and accessories.

A quick look at their website shows a couple of glowing reviews from the likes of Gizmodo and feedback from customers seems on the whole positive on most of their kits.

So let’s have a look what I made of it.

The kit was sent to me by V2 and as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

In the Box

Quite a nice slide out box packed with info.

Inside you’ll find:

Key Features

This is a 3 in 1 device and is capable out of the box to be used as both a Direct to Lung (DTL) and Mouth to Lung (MTL) vape.

The other aspect is the loose leaf option which does involve buying a compatible cartridge as an extra accessory.

This is also a very simple device to use particularly as both the atomizer/tank and USB charger connect magnetically.

And with no LED screen operating it is as simple as a few button clicks.

There’s also a handy voltage setting where you can choose from 1.8v – 2.5v and 3.3v [see below on how to access this feature].

There’s various accessories that can be bought separately including other cartridges and atomizers and it’s available in black – gun metal and crimson.

Design and Build Quality

Not a lot you can do with a basic pen style vape device to make it stand out however the new crimson colour – I see it as more burgundy – does look good.

The Vapour2 pro Series 3X is certainly light if a little long but all the moving parts fit together nicely with everything nicely machined. This is a little different to other e cigs in that there is no screwing in tanks. There is a magnet that holds the tank in place in the body of the e cig and it works well.

Charging is also done by a charger that connects magnetically.

However it is a little on the thin side and very slippy – which I have a feeling will result in droppage particularly if using a certain kind of ‘loose leaf’ so be careful!

If I’m honest it’s not that comfortable for me in the hand.

If you are looking for a lightweight device though it could suit you well.

How Does the Vapour2 PRO Series 3 Kit Perform?

I was also sent the loose leaf cartridge and I’ll come to that later.

In basic e-liquid mode I found a very tight draw with a single airflow hole open – and a much airier draw set to the full slot – which I guess is pretty obvious.

However even at it most open setting this was a little on the tight side for my preferred airy vape – just a personal preference!

If I’m brutally honest on fiddling with the voltage setting I found little if any difference between 1.8 and 2.5 volts however the 3.3v certainly kicked things into life and that’s how I preferred using it in e-liquid mode.

• 1.5ohm atomizer: decent flavour – good throat hit – OK vapour
• 1.2ohm atomizer : slightly better flavour – less of a throat hit – OK vapour
• 0.9ohm atomizer: good flavour – decent throat hit – better vapour

With the lower ohm atomizers I used my go to tobacco e-liquid with reasonably high nic strength.

Overall the flavour was decent enough – but nowhere near my preferred MTL tanks.

If I’m honest the 0.9ohm supposedly sub ohm atomizer can just about [and I mean just about] be described as sub ohm.

Sure the inhale is smooth with a slight throat hit – but compared to even the most basic sub ohm tanks out there I felt I was having to work to fill my lungs – maybe a much lower resistance atomizer would help.

I’ve had a bit of a November break from writing so had plenty of time to use this set-up given it arrived a while ago now.

I found once fully charged I could go most of the day in the lower settings and obviously a little over half a day at 3.3v – pretty good for the smallish 650mAH battery.

I reckon with both the MTL and DTL atomizers 20 re-fills between changes is pushing it a bit – more like a dozen or so – but that could be down to the e-liquid I use maybe? So life may differ for you depending on what you use.

Overall in e-liquid mode it’s not the worst device I’ve ever used but it’s certainly not in my top five.

It’s good to see that the chance to replace the coils rather than the whole cartridge, as in the Pro Series 3, is possible.

Loose Leaf Mode on the Pro Series 3X

As I’ve already said you need to buy the loose leaf atomizer separately – at a reasonable price.

OK you need to pop off the top cap to get to the heating chamber which is pretty narrow but certainly deep enough.

I found it best to grind well – not into dust but a slightly smaller consistency that say oregano in a jar

I found through trial and error the highest voltage setting worked best BTW giving a very nice warm flavorsome vape.

Loose Leaf Quick Start Guide

• Once packed and top cap on hold button until LED glows red
• Stop pressing button!
• LED turns green when ready to vape
• No need to use fire button just inhale
• Hold fire button to stop heating
• Heating cuts off automatically after 2 minutes and flashes for 5 seconds

Loose Leaf Performance

I have to say I was impressed with the Vapour2 Pro Series 3X in this department!

I got a lovely warm vape with a deep earthy richness with a nice smooth throat hit and decent amount of vapour.

So for me this performs far far better in loose leaf mode than e-liquid mode giving a good bake to your herb and a very good flavour.

BTW the loose leaf cartridge comes with the usual cleaning and packing tool kit and there’s also a wax cartridge available separately for use with concentrates.

What I Like

I like the simplicity of this device in particular the easy magnetized connections.

Filling is easy too – both with liquid and leaf – but it’s the latter when this kit comes into its own.

What I Don’t Like

It’s a little on the thin and lightweight side and I can’t really say the sub ohm atomizer is up to its job – a lower resistance would help in this aspect.

I don’t like the price either – even though it’s on special offer at the moment – that’s the price of the kit and indeed the new atomizers you’ll regularly need.

Final Verdict

Despite being the Vapour2 Pro Series 3X being a pretty good dry herb vaporizer this isn’t one I’d be rushing out to buy.

It’s very elongated – extremely light but I found it to be on the slippery side in the hand.

As a e-liquid vape pen its OK but nothing special especially in sub ohm mode.

It is very easy to use though which is a good thing for newcomers and to be fair I have got decent flavour and reasonable clouds.

It is rather expensive though but as dry herb vaporizers go it’s quite a competitive price – so if a dual use product or standalone loose leaf device is what you want then that price gets a lot more reasonable. Though do remember you’ll need to add the loose leaf cartridge as an extra.

Pros

• MTL – DTL and herb compatible [sort of]
• Simple to use
• Decent battery life – quick charging

Cons

• Atomizers don’t seem to last as long as suggested
• Doesn’t deliver a true sub ohm vape
• Very long
• Light and slippery in the hand (subjective)

Definitely a product I’ve been looking forward to trying since it was released in the UK a short while back as it does offer something that little bit different to the standard pen type e cigs out there.

The V2 Pro Series 3 features magnetic connectors and allows to use not only e-liquid but dry herbs and essential oil by swapping out the cartridges.

So let’s move on to having a closer look and see what it’s like!

This product was received free of charge for the purposes of this review. As always I will give my honest thoughts on the e cigarette.

In The Box

The presentation box is basic with a cardboard sleeve and plastic tray insert. Inside the kit I received was the following:

• 1 X Battery (manual 650mAh)
• 1 X E-Liquid Cartridge/Clearomiser
• Magnetic USB charger
• Instruction manual

Vapour2 Pro Series 3 Battery

Build

If you are used to seeing ego type batteries you will know that you have the battery and the clearomiser screws onto the top. The Vapour2 Pro Series 3, however, has been designed with a slight difference which is the first thing I noticed when taking it out of the box.

The battery unit is housed in one long aluminium tube that the clearomiser actually slots into to create one seamless smooth e cig.

To add to this the cartridge doesn’t connect by the use of the standard screw thread you normally find. The V2 Pro 3, instead, has a magnetic connection which I have to say works really well, more on that in the next section though.

In addition to the magnetic cartridge connection this e cig also has a magnetic USB charging lead which simply clicks into place firmly when the two are brought together.

A real plus point here for me is that you can use this as a pass through e cig while it is charging. For those new to that term, it basically means you can vape the V2 Pro Series 3 while it is charging, so no down time.

The only break in the form of the body comes by way of the power button and two slits that act as a window to see the level of e-liquid remaining. The power button is designed to sit flush to the body and comes with a 3 click on/off function.

I found the windows were not much use as they are too small to be able to see the level of e-liquid properly. The thing with this e cig though is that you can simply pull the cartridge out when checking. No unscrewing remember, just pull it out and drop it back in, nice and easy.

How Does The Vapour2 Pro Series 3 Perform?

The Vapour2 Pro Series 3 has one choice of battery which is rated at 650 mAh. Yeah, this isn’t going to break any records in terms of battery life in an ever increasing battery life/size reduction market but for most vapers this should do the trick.

Heavier vapers will find more frequent charging will come into play and with no option to buy a second back up battery (unless a new kit is purchased) this may not be ideal so keep that in mind.

For the first few charges (as a moderate vaper) I was getting a good 6-7 hours throughout the day so just fine for my habits.

This does, like all batteries, reduce the more charging cycles you put the battery through but this is to be expected.

There are a couple of things that I can think of that may be may put some off buying this device. The first thing is the lack of a variable voltage option, although this isn’t a major thing considering the ease of use V2 Cigs are promoting with the V2 Pro Series 3.

The second and more important point is the compatibility of the e cig.

Due to the proprietary magnetic connection with the battery/cartridge it’s worth keeping in mind you won’t be able to swap, change and try new clearomisers as you would if you were to buy an e cigarette with the popular 510/EGO threading.

Overall

I like the all in one design and the magnetic connections makes for an e cigarette that is super easy to use.

The 650 mAh battery isn’t huge in terms of battery life (when compared to the ever evolving UK e cig industry) but still does a good job. The lack of replacement battery options as it stands could be an issue.

Cartridge Vapour/Flavour

Build

This is where things are really interesting with the Vapour2 Pro series 3 e cig. The magnetic cartridge.

This is a first for me and to be honest I thought it might have been a bit of a gimmick but no… It actually works really well, you can literally just drop the cartridge in the top and it snaps into place.

How secure is this? Well I tried shaking it out of place upside down and unless you really give it a sharp, hard jerk (which is unlikely in a real world situation) it stays in place securely.

Don’t make the mistake of putting the cartridge in without the mouthpiece on though, I did this and it’s an ache to get it out!

The cartridge itself is only 1.6ml, not great but still 0.1ml larger than the Kanger Pro Tank Mini which is a popular compact tank in the world of vaping. It also fits in with the the new 2ml max UK e cig regulations that came into force in 2016.

The tank itself is also plastic which can react badly with certain e-liquids causing cracks, would have been nice to see pyrex glass used here. I haven’t personally had this particular issue though.

The other thing that won’t sit well with everyone is the plastic mouthpiece. For me it took a while to get used to as I’m not the biggest fan of plastic, after a day of vaping and perseverance though it wasn’t a huge issue, it actually provided a pretty decent draw.

Performance

This kit doesn’t come with e-liquid so be sure to buy some! The good thing is you can use any juice you choose whether it be V2 Platinum e-liquid, who have a good range, or from another vendor.

A refillable cartridge allows for experimentation which is great. For this review I was using Halo Vapour Co vape juice.

Filling is easy, just take your time and tilt the cartomiser slightly dripping down the wall of the tank. Once full the mouthpiece screws into place and the cartridge simply drops into the body of the e cigarette.

I let things sit for 5 minutes to allow the wick to soak up the juice and then took my first drag. The results were excellent, for this type of tank I was getting plenty of vapour and the fruit flavours were very prominent.

Also, no dry hits whatsoever after taking a good few drags in a row as well as zero issues with leaking onto the battery connection, in fact not even a hint of residue. Very impressed.

Replacement V2 Pro Cartridge Prices

The V2 Pro Series 3 e-liquid cartridge will need to be replaced, V2 cigs say after around 20 refills, you could have more or less. This is dependent on many things such as the type of vaper you are and the e-liquid you use.

Not cheap for sure when compared with buying replacements for other tanks and this is something you will need to take into account if buying the Vapour2 Pro Series 3 as your next electronic cigarette.

It would have top marks for me if they had replaceable coil/atomisers heads, this would keep the cost down considerably. Hopefully this is something V2 will introduce as the Pro Series progresses as a product.

Different Cartridge Offerings

As mentioned at the beginning of this V2 Pro Series review, one of the things that makes this e cig not only different but more attractive to a wider audience is the different ‘vapourising’ options.

We have covered the E-Liquid Cartridge but there are also two others which need to be purchased separately.

• Loose Leaf vaporizer cartridge
• Essential Oil vaporizer cartridge

I haven’t tried any of these yet, although I do have the loose leaf option. I will add an update here when I have.

As their name suggests they are different types of cartridge that can be used with each for of ingredient. The loose leaf I’m sure will be the most popular for a variety of reasons or maybe just the one….

The clever thing here is that the battery reacts differently to each different cartridge. For the Loose Leaf the power button is held down for 3 seconds which activates the conduction heating function.

Then it’s a case of waiting for the battery to warm the cartridge to the correct temperature level which takes around 20 seconds. The battery light will turn green to let you know it’s good to go.

You can then take a draw without pressing the button. The heat can be turned off by pressing the button for 3 seconds again or it will automatically cut off after 120 seconds.

I like the way the unit can recognise the different cartridges here so if you are a user of both loose leaf and e-liquid then there is no need for two separate devices.

As for the Essential Oils cartridge, this isn’t available to buy yet in the UK but will also be able to heat nicotine gels and waxes.

So plenty for people to be getting stuck into!

Overall

The magnetic connection works very well, the e-liquid cartridge is only a 1.6ml capacity but this can be overlooked due to the great performance both in terms of flavour and vapour volume.

The only real downside for me at this point is that the coil/atomiser heads are not replaceable which requires you to buy a whole new tank each time.

The Good

• Super easy for brand new vapers to use.
• Magnetic connection on battery and cartridge works well, just drop the cartridge into the slot and your good to go.
• E Cig can be used when the battery is charging.
• Loose Leaf and Essential Oils cartridges can be used in addition to the supplied e-liquid cart.
• Flavour and vapour volume were both impressive.
• No leaking or liquid residue at all when I’ve been using it.

The not so good

• No replaceable battery. Once it drains a full new kit needs to be purchased.
• The kit, as mentioned, is on the pricey side.
• E-liquid cartridges must be completely replaced, no option to buy coil head replacements.
• The magnetic connection on the e cig reduces your options when it comes to trying the wide variety of clearomiser tanks on offer.

Taking A Closer Look At The V2 Vapour2 Platinum E Liquid Range

The V2 platinum e juice range (Known as Vapour2 in Europe) has 12 flavors in total, three tobacco, one menthol and eight other flavors that are a mix of fruit sweet and savory. The flavors not included in this review are the Cola, Menthol, Vanilla and Coffee.

One things straight off the bat that I like about the Vapour2 / V2 Platinum e liquids is that they are transparent with their ingredients and batch test their e liquid which you can check online. More as well on that below.

OK, so back to the topic at hand! The V2 e liquid review. That’s what we’re all here for right….

V2 Congress Tobacco

V2 Say:
“Congress: smooth Virginia-style tobacco”

Congress tobacco flavor is based on the Parliament cig range and is also said to be similar to Marlboro Lights. Now I’ve never personally smoked the former so can’t attest for it’s accuracy. I did use to smoke Marlboro Lights however.

What I can say is that Congress is a robust tobacco taste that does, in my opinion, an excellent job of replicating a cigarette.

As an ex Marlboro Light smoker I thought this did a stand up job and although robust provided the throat hit isn’t harsh.

It has to be said though, at the time of writing it’s been almost 6 years since my last cigarette. Confession over, I can see this being a great starting point for those new to cigarettes.

Some other tobacco e cig flavors can have a slightly sweet after taste but I didn’t get that with this flavor.

I was vaping the ‘Full’ 1.8% nicotine strength which gives a decent throat hit and like all V2 flavors gives a good amount of vapor, especially considering these are PG heavy e liquids.

Sahara

V2 Say
“Sahara: think French or Turkish tobacco”

V2 Sahara is another tobacco flavor, this time based on Camel.

Sahara gives a smoother, slightly sweet tobacco flavor, definitely not as robust as the Congress Tobacco but still on the stronger side.

For me this does a good job with replicating tobacco although with a slightly sweet edge.

There is one thing to keep in mind with tobacco flavors, there is always going to be a slight difference in taste to the real thing.

At first it may take getting used to as it did for me but I soon preferred the taste of e cigarette juice by a long way.

The throat hit on the 18mg nicotine is very good as is the vapor volume so all is good there.

V2 Red Tobacco

V2 Say:
“V2 Red: strong tobacco hit”

V2 Red is the most popular tobacco flavor in the V2 e juice range, likely because it is made to be nearest to tobacco brands such as Marlboro (red), Pall Mall, Lucky Strike and Winston.

So covering a lot of bases of some of the most widely used brands.

This for my personal taste, and that is what e juice reviews are all about, was actually my least favorite of the three V2 tobacco flavors. It’s still a decent effort and easy enough to vape but didn’t come across as robust and realistic as the Congress for me.

The throat hit was smooth but did the trick as was the vapor volume.

Green Tea Menthol

Green Tea is probably not the first flavor that comes to mind when considering your next choice of e liquid.

One reason why I was actually looking forward to trying this.

The smell of the e juice funnily enough is of tea and not being a massive tea drinker I wasn’t really sure if I would like this.

Upon vaping though it was better than I had anticipated, the first thing you get is a nice menthol flavor coming through with a very subtle tea aftertaste.

I actually really enjoyed it, the tea is not too overpowering which is definitely a good thing for me and the mint gives a nice fresh feel in the mouth.

I was vaping the 1.2% (medium) strength nicotine, the throat hit was subtle at this nicotine strength which suits this flavor well and the vapor volume, again very good.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Mint Tea from V2 Cigs and found it was a nice refreshing vape.

It was certainly not a flavor I would have bought blind but I can see me vaping this when I want a change from straight up menthol.

This could be a ‘Marmite e juice’. But then I love Marmite!

V2 Cherry

On opening the bottle there is an unmistakable sweet cherry aroma that comes across immediately.

On vaping the cherry flavor has a fresh authentic taste but has a sweetness to it that I actually think supports the flavor well.

I like cherry e liquids, they were one of the only fruit flavored e liquids available when I started vaping but the flavors have come a long way since then.

The vapor volume though is very good while the throat hit is subtle (with 12mg) but with fruit flavors I tend to find this is a good thing for me personally.

If a sweeter cherry flavor sounds up your street then this could be just the ticket.

Chocolate

On opening the bottle you do get a slight cocoa smell coming through, nothing too strong.

On taking a drag it’s a bit of a strange one, there is a kind of chocolate aftertaste there for sure but it is one of those flavors that quite frankly I’m not sure if I like or not.

Its not that its bad and it is certainly ‘vapeable’ but I certainly wouldn’t choose this as an all day vape.

It has to be noted that while I don’t mind chocolate itself I can take it or leave it and that is what this e-liquid kind of leaves me feeling.

Both the throat hit and vapour volume are good so definitely no issues there.

Peppermint

On opening the bottle it quite simply smells of peppermint! I used the V2 Pro Series 3 and it’s e liquid cartridge with this juice.

Which has to be said is nice and easy with the dripper or dropper as V2 call it.

On taking a drag you get a nice smooth peppermint flavor coming through that isn’t too overpowering and on exhaling it leaves a fresh peppermint aftertaste in the mouth.

The throat hit is quite mild with the 0.6% nicotine but for me this is lends itself well to the actual flavor.

The vapour volume is also very good.

This is where it starts getting interesting with Vapour2, their battery options along with the ability to customize them really give them something different from the other brands I have reviewed.

As an example, when you get to the checkout stage you are presented with the choice of either a manual or automatic battery as well as being able to choose a preferred color.

They also stock 3 different sizes/capacities of battery as well. All sounds complicated but its not once you are at the checkout!

I myself ordered the Vapour2 Standard Starter Kit and chose one black manual and one white/ one steel automatic battery. I also received a free disposable as they had a promotion on at the time.

For those that don’t know the difference between manual and automatic batteries, the manual battery has a button on the side that needs pressing to ‘fire up’ the battery, this in turn begins to heat up the e-liquid, all you have to do then is take a drag then release the button.

The automatic has no button on the side, the battery is activated by a sensor when you take a drag.

All quite simple, I actually like the manual battery as i tend to get a slightly better vapor volume first time but if you are starting out I would suggest buying one of each.

Both batteries performed well though so no complaints there.

When it comes to size of the batteries, the ones I bought (79mm) are slightly longer than both E-Lites and the Green Smoke short battery.

This wasn’t a problem for me though and if you wanted something smaller they do offer a 67mm battery.

The appearance of the batteries are quite plain, they have gone for the cleaner look rather than trying to replicate the exact look of a cigarette with faux rings. This is no big thing though, they still have a nice quality feel to them with good branding.

These are highly recommended as they will charge your electronic cigarette battery on the go without the need for a power source. It is essentially a portable battery.

Overall – Both battery styles are very responsive with a good quality finish. The only real downside is that the replacement batteries are edging towards the pricey side but they last a long time.

Vapor / Flavor

When ordering I decided to go for a broad selection of flavors, the fact they sold cola flavored cartridges pretty much swung it!

I had to see what that was like.

All in all I got one pack of Cherry carts, one pack of Vapour2 Red Tobacco carts and their mixed flavor sampler pack that included the following:

• Coffee
• Cola
• Chocolate
• Vanilla
• Peppermint
• Menthol
• Cherry
• Three tobacco flavors: Sahara, Congress and V2 Red.

Starting with the tobacco flavors, the only one I wasn’t too keen on here was the Sahara. Congress and V2 were both excellent giving me a nice smooth taste, good subtle throat hit and great vapor volume. They represented real tobacco cigarettes well.

As for the ‘flavors’ I surprisingly liked the cola, was all a bit strange but once I got over the fact I was vaping cola it was OK!

My two favorites though were the cherry and menthol both great for something that little bit different.

I suppose the menthol should really be classed alongside the tobacco flavors though.

As always, flavors are a personal preference but I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Another plus point (a very big plus point) is that you can buy ‘blank cartridges’ and bottles of e-liquid.

This allows you to refill your own cartridges and can work out a lot cheaper than buying pre-filled cartridges.

If you are new to vaping though I would recommend you stick to buying the pr-efilled carts to start while you get used to it.

There are also discounts for buying pre-filled carts in larger quantities.

As well as the standard blank cartomizers they have also recently released the ‘Vapour2 EX Blanks’. These are a clear tank system that allows you to see the amount of e-liquid you have left. I have tried these out and they perform a treat.

Overall – As a whole the flavors and vapor volume were very good, stand out flavors for me were Congress, V2 Red, Menthol and Cherry. The option to buy empty cartomizers to use with bottled e-liquid is also a big plus point.

Starter Kits

Vapour2 Classic Kit 

Includes one battery, 6 tester flavours and charger. I wouldn’t recommend this one purely because it only comes with one battery. Whatever kit you buy you really need 2 batteries. You could always buy one separately at a later date though

Vapour2 Classic Standard Kit

This is the kit I bought and reviewed. It has everything you could need to get started! Its basically the same as the economy but you get an extra battery, 10 flavor cartridges and a wall adaptor.

Vapour2 Classic Standard Plus Kit

Same contents as the standard above with the addition of a case to carry your spares.

Vapour2 Classic Ultimate kit

This kit comes with 3 batteries, 25 V2 carts, power cig (Battery that plugs into your computer, great if you work on a PC), the usual chargers plus car charger and carry case. This really has everything you need to get started and keep vaping for months without having to buy anything else.

US brand V2 Cigs (Rebranded as Vapour2 in Europe) are picking up a lot of pace in the UK e cigarette market with a steady release of new products being made available.
One of those new products is the Vapour2 EX Series which is a different take on the familiar mini e cig you may have seen before and what we will be reviewing today.

This e cig kit was received free of charge for the purposes of this review but as always my views are my own.

In The Box

The EX comes in a nicely branded presentation box that looks ready made for the shelves of bricks and mortar retail stores. Inside the packaging you will find:

• V2 EX 280 mAh Battery
• V2 EX Cartridge Sleeve
• 3 Rubber ring gaskets (Helps keep the sleeve in place)

Battery Responsiveness

This is what the Vapour2 EX series kit is all about and barring the sleeve all that comes with the kit. The battery I received was the Scarlett Metallic.

So what is the difference between the EX Series battery and the standard V2 Cigs battery?

The immediate difference is (obviously) the looks of the battery. Where the standard battery was plain and based around the look of a cigarette the EX Series battery is more design led. The Scarlett colour, while not being something I would personally buy, does look quality. Looking at the other options they have:

1. Royale, which as the name suggest has a playing card design. I’m sure this will appeal to some but not my thing personally.
2. Brushed Steel. This is more like it for me, a sleak looking clean design.
3. Bloom. This one has a whimsical, flowery type design. See #1.
4. Carbon Fibre. See #2.

So, something for everyone in terms of design and the actual quality and feel in the hand is very good, the branding is just about right so as not to be too in your face.

If you are coming up from a mini e cig type device or even looking for a product as a brand new vaper, don’t expect this to be the same size or even near to the same size as a cigarette.

V2 do have these size batteries but this product is aimed at those users who want something that looks different and has a little more battery life.

Which brings me onto the battery capacity. The EX has a decent 280 mah capacity operating at 4.2 volts which pushes enough power to the cartomisers to help with the decent vapour production.

The other difference with this battery is the 5 ‘dot’ lights at the end of the battery that indicate the remaining charge.

This is kind of a good feature, I say kind of because you can only see the lights when you take a drag, I suggest using one eye for this otherwise you may go cross eyed!

The EX Sleeve

The other component of the EX is the sleeve that is designed to fit over your cartomiser, this is kept firmly in place with the rubber gaskets supplied. While this isn’t an essential piece of kit for a good vape it does lend itself to the overall design keeping it looking slick. The other thing the sleeve offers is a slightly tighter draw if this is what you prefer.

The EX Blank mini tank is also a good option to use with the EX Series battery, you won’t be able to use the sleeve with the tank but it offers an extra option and a good one at that.

As of today, the new Vapour2 EX Series kit also comes with the refillable V2 cartridges that have a window in so you can see your level of e-liquid. This cartridge offers very good flavour and vapour production when paired with the Vapour2 Platinum e-liquids.

Vapour2 EX Series Review – Final Thoughts

A great starting point that offers a little more battery life than the Vapour2 Classic kits, it’s also a little more modern and upto date.

It’s super simple to use even for new vapers and performs very well indeed. If you’re looking for something that stands out from the crowd while keeping a high level of quality then be sure to keep this in mind.

The Vapour2 Trinity mod (Vapor2 outiside the UK) is one of the first vape mods by the US company V2. They have decided to go down the route of a mini mod for the stealth vapers amongst us.

The XEO Void was, overall, a very good device but have V2 succeeded in making an impact in this ever growing category of vape devices? Let’s take a closer look with our hands on review.

Design and Build Quality

The Vapour2 Trinity, like all the devices I’ve been lucky enough to try from V2, is excellent in terms of build quality. The soft touch rubberised coating finish feels very nice in the hand and the zinc alloy construction offers a nice weight, especially considering the size.

I have small hands but this mod completely disappears when I wrap my fingers around it. It’s tiny!

I received the blue version of the mod which is actually looks a lot better than I would’ve expected. There is also black available for those that don’t do blue!

The Vape mod features three buttons.

The fire button, again rubberised with a nice ‘click’ action, and the two function buttons marked with ‘+’ and ‘-‘. The latter are placed differently to most other mods I’ve used sitting on top of the device next to the tank.

The positioning, while a simple design difference, is actually a well thought out in terms of keeping them out of the way of accidental presses, especially when carrying in a pocket or bag.

The OLED screen is bright and easy to read, displaying (in standard mode) your wattage / resistance settings and remaining battery life.

Below the screen is the micro USB port and on the base of the mod ample ventilation holes.

The Vapor2 Trinity mod is simple in it’s looks, which for me is a good thing and a breath of fresh air with many new mods vying for attention in the crazy design stakes recently.

Vapour2 Tank

The Vapour2 tank compliments the mod well and sits on top seamlessly. The two airflow holes are big with a smooth action control to change your style of vape and the top fill cap screws off easily to refill.

On the outside it doesn’t look much different than your standard vape tank but things are a little different behind the glass.

The center chimney includes eliquid holes that can be closed off fully with a simple twist of the tank. We will go into the benefits of this a little later on.

How Does The Vapour2 Trinity Perform?

First lets have a quick look at the basic working functions of the mod and tank.

Quick Start To The Vapour2 Trinity mod

• 5 Clicks on/off
• Press power and ‘-‘ buttons together to enter menu
• Use ‘+’ and ‘-‘ function buttons to choose the setting you would like to change.
• Press power button to enter selected setting.
• Hands Mode Setting: flips the screen orientation
• Work Mode Setting – Choose between Power (wattage), Temp Control, Bypass
• Exit menu and use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons to change your wattage or temperatures.

How to Change The Coil On The Vapour2 Tank

• Twist The base of the tank to separate from glass section
• Unscrew and replace coil. Firmly tighten but not too tight (Finger tight)
• Screw base back into tank

How To Refill The Vapour2 Trinity Tank

• Twist the tank anti-clockwise to close liquid holes
• Unscrew black mouthpiece
• Pour e-liquid in one of the two holes (not the center tub hole)
• Replace mouthpiece
• Open the e-liquid holes by twisting tank clockwise
• Wait at least 10 minutes for juice to soak into the coils.

When vaping for the first time do yourself a favour and start on a lower wattage just to be sure the coil is soaking up the e-liquid correctly. The Trinity tank, for me, takes a little longer than most to soak up. This could be down to the a mesh material on the inside of the tank covering the e-liquid intake holes.

If you start low you cut the chances of burning your coil straight off the bat. You can then work your way up the wattage selection until you hit your sweet spot.

I actually like the way you can close and open the e-liquid holes, especially when the tank is not in use, in your bag/pocket or left overnight. It cuts down the chances of leaking.

In fact, in two weeks of use I have experience no leaking whatsover, even when I had left the holes open and had the tank lying on it’s side. It pays to get into the habit though. If you want to cut the chances down further you can also close the airflow when not in use too.

Flavour/ Vapour

I was vaping Razberi e-liquid by Froot, a flavour that is familiar to me and one I’ve been vaping in a number of tanks for a few weeks.

0.8Ohm coil

I tried a number of wattage settings with this coil but settled on 28 Watts. The flavour was decent but not outstanding. Coming through a little muted without the ping of the fruit flavours I’m used to. The clouds again were respectable but don’t expect this to be fogging up your room any time soon. Fine for me, I’m more about flavour rather than the clouds.

The draw is a lot more restricted than other sub ohm tanks I’ve used but lends itself well to those that like both a direct to lung and mouth to lung vape, albeit the latter is on the airier side.

1.2Ohm Coil

This coil actually proved to be a lot better for me for flavour. Using the same 70VG/30PG e-liquid the coil had no problems keeping up. 26W was my sweet spot and with the airflow closed 3/4 the flavour was very good. Again, mouth to lung vaping is possible when closing down the airflow but it is an airy MTL vape.

Coil life was actually very impressive with the 0.8Ohm lasting me a good couple of weeks with moderate vaping. The 1.2Ohm is going strong after numerous refills.

Battery

As with all mini mods battery life is going to suffer and the Triniy is no different. The mod manages to squeeze in a 1200mAh capacity battery which is a decent size for a mini mod.

When vaping at 25W+. I was getting around 4 hours of moderate vaping before I needed to re-charge. You may get  slightly more or less depending on how you vape and your wattage settings.

Charging is simple, plug in the Micro USB to a compatible output and away you go. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no pass through vaping functionality. This basically means you can’t vape whilst charging.

Overall the performance was good.

What I Like

The quality of the Vapour2 Trinity mod is excellent, very solid for such a small device. With the mod being so small it fits into the palm of your hand easily making it a very portable mod to carry around.

It’s also very simple to operate, even for new vapers that have never used a vape mod before.

Flavour is good from the 1.2Ohm coil, coil life is excellent. The top fill function and the ability to change the coil without emptying your tank is great. As is the way you can close the e-liquid holes to cut down on the chances of leaking, of which I had zero over the weeks I use the device.

What I Don’t Like

The battery life isn’t great but that really is to be expected from a mod this small.

The flavour with the 0.8Ohm coil was muted with the e-juice I used for testing. It would have been nice to see a vape whilst charging functionality. If this is your only e cigarette then you will need to disconnect when taking a vape. Not a huge deal and I guess Vapour2 are edging on the side of caution by not including it.

The final thing is the price, this is one of the more expensive mini mod kits on the market.

Final Review Verdict

The Vapour2 Trinity kit is on the whole a very solid little offering. If you are looking for a kit that is compact, quality and easy to throw in your pocket or bag then this is as good a choice as any if it’s in your budget.

Would I buy the Vapour2 Trinity mod again if lost or broken? Based on the price, no.

Dual Purpose Kit – XEO Void

The XEO VOID appears to be their jewel in the crown and so with German design and engineering I was expecting big things.

So is it a case of “vorsprung durch technic”?

Let’s take a closer look.

Inside the Box

It’s a very well presented kit coming inside a tough clear plastic box – which I shall now be using to store my vaping nik naks.

TPD warning labels are on the cellophane cover – which I ripped off before taking the photos ooops sorry lol.

Inside you’ll find:

• 1 x VOID Vaporizer (1500mAh) with a 2ml Tank
• 1 x VOID Atomizer Head 0.6 Ohm for Sub-Ohming (direct to lung vape)
• 1 x VOID Atomizer Head 1.0 Ohm (mouth to lung vaping)

• 1 x Instruction Manual

This is a dual purpose vaping kit as in you can choose between MTL [mouth to lung] or DTL [direct to lung]. Read our MTL vs DTL Guide here if you are unsure of the difference.

The kit contains a separate coil for both styles of vaping neither of which are connected straight out of the box – more on that in the Quick Start Guide.

Key Features

Simplicity and functionality is the key here.

It’s definitely a kit that beginners to vaping will enjoy as it really is refreshingly simple to use.

The 1500mAh battery whilst not the most powerful in the world certainly delivers enough of a punch but maybe not quite enough to fire the sub ohm coil into life – more on that later.

Whilst MTL vapers will enjoy its longevity – this vape pen keeps on rolling.

I say vape pen – it is pen shaped however it does have a three sided design which not only stops it rolling off your desk or table – but adds to its looks.

From underneath it’s the same shape as a guitar plectrum if that makes sense!

It’s available in a variety of colours the one I received was a very classy Gun metal.

Other colours are: Black – Burst Silver – White – Pink – Navy Blue.

It’s most definitely a ‘clean hands coil swap’ given the coil screws into the mouthpiece and lifts away from the tank.

It’s a top fill with plenty of room in the juice well – but do keep a close eye on the unobtrusive ‘max fill line’ on the device itself.

Adding too much e-liquid will cause displacement and well you’ll get sticky hands and a stickier device – and no just for once I managed clean hands lol.

XEO Void Quick Start Guide

• OK it’s x5 clicks on the fire button for on and off.
• To add your chosen coil you’ll need to press down gently on the mouthpiece and then unscrew – like a child proof pill bottle.
• The coil is screwed directly into the mouthpiece/tank top
• To replace your coil you do the same but in reverse and you do not lose any e-liquid.
• You fill the tank up to the max fill line.
• To vape you press the fire button [and hold down for as long as you want to vape].

XEO Void Safety Features

• Short circuit protection
• Shuts off if fire button pressed longer than 15 seconds
• Low voltage protection – battery flashes 40times and shuts down
• Battery stays lit when charged and firing
• Light flashes when power too low
• Lights up red whilst charging which goes out when fully charged
• Light flashes very slowly if the resistance is too low or high and wont fire

Design and Build Quality

Hey this is designed in Germany so it’s going to be good right?

Yeah sort of but more on that in a moment.

First up the build quality – and yes it is a well put together piece of kit.

Everything screws together nicely and despite its solid look and feel it’s surprisingly light.

Speaking of ‘light’ you get a very bright bluey-white light inside the tank when firing which is quite a nice touch.

Apart from the airflow and mouthpiece it’s a well-designed piece of kit.

It’s a top airflow which many of us think dims the flavor a little but my main issue is you have no idea how open or closed the airflow is.

The ring is the knurling you see just below the mouthpiece and it basically spins and spins.

I think I can see the ring lowering or getting slightly higher but I have no way of knowing and if I’m totally honest the difference between 10 turns left or right seemed to make no difference.

So total control airflow it isn’t – however that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy vaping on the XEO Void – far from it but more on that later.

As to the mouthpiece it is proprietary and does get extremely warm particularly chain vaping on the sub ohm coil.

How Does XEO Void Kit Perform?

As a MTL vape kit the Void is up there with some of the best I’ve used – it’s a great beginner’s kit.

However as far as proper sub ohm vaping goes it’s a great introduction to that style of vaping but personally I was willing it to kick a little harder if that makes sense!

And then I realized what was wrong.

The kit comes with a 0.6ohm coil, however, inscribed on the coil itself is the max wattage of just 28 watts.

I’ve always vaped at a minimum of 30 watts for sub ohm vaping.

A minor point but it certainly explained – to me anyway – the lack of a kick.

However as a ‘gentle’ introduction to the world of sub ohm vaping I guess we’ll let that slide.

As I said at the start for a MTL kit it really is a very good vape – looks cool too.

VSAVI E-Liquids – 100% VG

A quick mention of the x3 juice samples sent through by Pure E-Liquids.

I received a Classic Virginia – Cherry and Coffee Cream.

The Classic Virginia was a little too sweet for me as was the Cherry however the Coffee Cream was absolutely delicious.

Whilst the flavours overall weren’t for me, the cloud production was superb, which is down to the 100% VG.

The e-liquids come in 10ml bottles and are fully TPD compliant and tested in state of the art Bioscience Labs. If you have an intolerance to PG then these may be worth looking at. Check out Vsavi E-Liquid here.

Pros

I really like the design it reminds me of the J Well Lumea I reviewed recently – but much more stylish.

As an MTL vape it vapes very well and despite the annoying top airflow the taste is very good too with little loss of flavor using the so called DTL coil.

Cloud wise with the MTL coil it was acceptable though poor when switching to the DTL coil – as in very similar.

I like the fact it charges extremely fast and holds its power very well.

Using both coils I was able to get a full day before I sensed rather than the device telling me – it was time to charge.

Cons

The mouthpiece whilst extremely comfortable [and shiny] does get alarming warm after a few puffs – particularly when chain vaping on the sub ohm coil.

I did try using one of my own drip tips however none would fit snug.

The airflow – for me any way – seems pretty pointless and just seems to spin around without it affecting the airiness of the vape very much.

One thing though – if you like an airy vape you’ll love this no matter which way or how far you spin the wheel!

Final Review Verdict

It’s a smart looking extremely stylish and very durable vape kit.

The battery lasts an age and the easy coil swap and e-liquid filling is refreshingly clean and simple.

Despite its solid somewhat sturdy appearance it is as light as the proverbial feather and certainly not bulky in your pocket.

It’s leak free too and has been in my jeans and coat pocket with no spillage whatsoever.

Speaking of e-liquids it isn’t a juice guzzler either even when in ‘sub ohm’ mode and with my frantic chain vaping inhales trying to get a kick

3 in 1 Vaporizer – The V2 Pro Series 7

The Pro Series 7 is their flagship vaporizers that promises to provide a mix of battery life and power with 3 vaping mediums.

Let’s take a closer look at the V2 Pro Series 7 vaporizer.

In The Box

The Series 7 comes in a tidy cardboard presentation box and includes the following:

Design & Build Quality

First impressions of the V2 Pro Series 7 are good. It has a nice clean, simple design and a solid feel in the hand.

For those used to seeing standard e liquid vape pen devices then this will likely be something different in terms of looks.

For those that have used or have been searching for vaporizers that can vape dry herb / loose leaf and wax then the form factor will be more familiar.

The Pro Series 7 has 3 power settings for voltage (3.7V / 4.2V / 4.7V) when using e liquid and 3 temperature settings (390˚F – 420˚F – 455˚F) for loose leaf/dry herb and wax.

So there is quite a lot going on under the hood to work with the three different mediums as well as an impressive 1800 mah battery that saw me though 2 days moderate vaping using e liquid no problem.

E Liquid / Loose Leaf Cartridge

Similar to the Series 3 one of the standout features of the Series 7 is the magnetic slot cartridges.

Depending on the medium you are vaping the base of the cartridge has a different connection that the vaporizer recognizes when it slots into place.

So if the e liquid cartridge is connected it will work automatically in voltage mode and if the loose leaf is connected it will switch to temperature mode without you having to do a thing.

Filling the e liquid cartridge is simple, just remove the mouthpiece, unscrew the top piece and carefully drip your e juice. The cartridge can hold 2.5ml of juice.

I really like the way the magnetic cartridges slot firmly into place without the need for screwing. It also makes it a breeze to switch from e liquid to loose leaf or wax.

Charging, again, uses a magnetic connection power lead. One of the good things about this is that there is little chance for user error using the wrong charger which can in some cases result in accidents.

The Series 7 also works as a pass through device so you can also vape whilst the unit is charging.

How Does The V2 Series Pro 7 Perform

E Liquid

One of the three mediums is of course e liquid and the Series 7 has 3 power setting you can vape with.

Here is a run down of the features in e liquid / wax mode:

• 3 click on/off – Press the power button 3 times in quick succession
• Voltage selection – The three lights under the power button represent each voltage setting. The smallest is 3.7v, middle 4.2v and the larger top light is 4.7v. Press the power button twice in quick succession. The device will then automatically light up each setting, simply press the power button once to choose your preferred voltage.

I personally found myself settling on 4.2v. 3.7v was a touch on the cool side, the 4.7v was a little to warm for Kind Juice e liquid I was using. The 4.2v provided a very good vape with good vapor production. The flavors of the e liquid also came through well.

For a standard vape the result are definitely comparable to other vape pens available, just be aware this isn’t going to provide that sub ohm vaping experience, the latter of which of course isn’t for everyone.

The draw is also pretty tight as there is no airflow control so one for mouth to lung vapers.

One other thing to note is that once the cartridge has run it’s course ie; your e liquid starts to deteriorate in taste then you will have to buy a new cartridge. No swapping out coil heads here which would have been nice to see.

You should however get around 15 refills, possibly more depending on the type of e juice you are using.

Loose Leaf

The other cartridge that comes with the Vapour2 Pro Series 7 kit is the loose leaf / dry herb chamber.

Here is a quick rundown of the features in loose leaf mode:

• Remove the mouthpiece and fill the chamber with dry herb of your choosing. Just don’t go past the top of the oven where the white material ends as the cap needs to be able to slot back into place. You will also be best off grinding the herbs fine.
• When the loose leaf cartridge is slotted into place the device automatically recognizes the medium.
• As with the e liquid mode, click the power button twice in quick succession to choose your preferred temperature setting. Bottom light 390˚F, middle light 420˚F and the top light is 455 ˚F.
• Press the power button for 3 seconds to activate the heating element in the vapouriser.
• The light on the base of the mod will turn red, then yellow and finally green when it’s ready to vape.
• For loose leaf the heat up time is around 30 seconds before it’s ready to go. You do not need to press the power button again to vape.

I personally preferred the lowest setting which provided a smooth vape. The cloud production is just OK but you can’t compare loose leaf with the vapor that e juice provides.

The higher temperature settings were just a little too harsh for me but this would all depend on what you are vaping and of course your preferences.

If you don’t vape for around 2 minutes the device will auto cut off and you will need to start the re-heating process again.

The oven chamber is also easy to clean out as the kit also comes with tools to help with this.

Final V2 Pro Series 7 Review Verdict

I’m no expert when it comes to vaporizing loose leaf, I mainly cover e liquid vape devices.

The V2 Pro Series 7, for me, did both very well. It’s not going to be for the vaper that wants a stand alone vape kit for e liquid, while it performs well for the price there are better stand alone e liquid vapes available.

So if this is you then I would recommend looking at other options or even checking out the V2 Pro Series 3.

If you are looking for a vaporizer for dry herb alone it’s a very good device. If you are looking for a 3 in 1 option for dry herb, e liquid and wax then this is a superb option.

All are easy to use and to swap out with minimum fuss.
