I know – yet another pod mod but it is worth looking closer to see if there are any new features being introduced!

What To Expect From The Snowwolf P50 Kit?

As you can see this device takes the style of a box shaped kit where the actual pod is concealed within the device body.

A 1250mAh internal battery is provided which can be charged at a 2A rate via the USB type C port.

The device has Variable Wattage adjustment from 5-50W in RBA (DIY) mode or in Auto mode the device senses the coil resistance and adjusts the power to suit.

On the front of the mod is the 0.96in colour OLED screen to view all of your vaping data.

The pod uses the Taze range of coils which are also compatible with the Taze pod kit and the P40 Mini Kit. There are 4 coils to choose from:

• 0.6ohm with adjustable airflow (2x included in kit)

What To Expect From The Snowwolf P40 Mini Kit?

So as mentioned above this is a pod kit – but you can replace the coils and refill the pod.

The P40 uses the Taze range of coils – previously used in the Taze kit so is compatible with both.

The features of the coils differ depending on the resistance – but the following options are available:

• Taze 1ohm – 8-12W – airflow not adjustable (purchase separately)
• Taze 0.6ohm – 15-25W – adjustable airflow base (2 included in the kit)
• Taze 0.3ohm – 25-35W – adjustable airflow base (purchase separately)
• Taze RBA – adjustable airflow base (purchase separately)

The device itself houses a 1100mAh battery which is charged via the USB Type C port at up to 2A quick charge rate.

Output wise this will output 5-40W and the IFV960 smart chip runs the show.

The output is variable and also has a smart wattage curve output – I am not sure if this is adjustable by the user or pre-programmed into the chip.

Also you have the choice between AUTO and RBA modes. The Auto mode will recognize the coil resistance and adjust the power output to suit.

If you want full control to adjust the power yourself select the RBA mode.

There appears to be 6 colours to choose from: Black, Space Grey, Indigo Blue, Rose Red, Midnight Green and Rainbow.

I know for a lot of people “pod fatigue” has set in and pod kits are no longer particularly exciting but this does look a nice little kit!

What’s New On The Snowwolf Taze Kit?

The Taze has a lot of nice little features which I have to say do make it stand out a little bit in this saturated market.

The first which caught my eye is that this has Type C USB charging and can charge at up to 4A (18W) charging rate. This in theory means that the 1600mAh internal battery can be charged in as little as 30 mins!

Output wise this has Variable Wattage and will output between 5-40W. The output and settings are displayed on the 0.42in OLED screen.

Also there are Auto and RBA modes. When in the Auto mode the device will recognise the coil installed and adjust the output to suit.

The RBA mode is for the RBA coil but I am not sure exactly what this does? Is auto mode fixed wattage and RBA mode adjustable? I am not sure.

Looking at the pod side of things now – this is refillable with up to 4.5ml of your own e-liquid. An unscrew-able top fill cap makes life easier.

Even better is the fact you can replace the coil head on its own. There are 3 stock coil options:

• α – 1.2ohm
• β – 0.6ohm (included in kit)
• γ – 0.3ohm (included in kit)

Plus the option of a rebuildable RBA coil head too.

The airflow appears to be adjustable using the ring on the base of the coil head – but I can’t see if this is applicable for the 1.2ohm coil?

Basically having an internal battery and handy proportions this kit should appeal to the same market as the Cube and Mini kits.

Looking first at the mod – as mentioned above this has an internal 2500mAh battery and has a super fast charge rate of 4.5A via a USB Type C connection.

The mod will output between 5 and 80W and there are Variable Wattage, Temperature Control and Smart Curve user modes to choose from.

All your user data is displayed on the cute 0.69in OLED screen.

And with this being a Snowwolf mod you know that 3D wolf logo will make an appearance!

Anyway let’s look at what the baby Wolfy has to offer!

The mod is the XFeng-Baby mod and has a removable cap design to accommodate a single 18650 battery – which is not included. Often these battery caps can restrict the maximum tank size you can use – Snowwolf have not specified the maximum.

The mod will output between 5 and 45W using 9 different power levels and there is mention of “SMART Curve” mode – but this is very vague?

On the side of the mod are the power level indicator LED lights and you can select the power level required using the selection button.

The mod itself is made from Zinc Alloy with a leather finish on the front and back.

Inside the device is an “IFV Smart Chip” and you can recharge if required using the Type C USB port at 2A.

Included in the kit is the new Snowwolf Mark Sub Ohm tank. This appears to only use the Mark-X coil heads which are 0.3ohm and have a mesh coil structure.

The tank has a slide top fill and adjustable bottom airflow control.

There are 2 colours to choose from: Silver and Black.

Anyway let’s get stuck in to see what this kit has to offer!

Starting with the Zephyr mod – this is quite rare – from what I can see this has an internal (non removable) battery which has a massive 5000mAh capacity.

Another feature of this battery is the super quick charging time.

As this has a type C USB port this means there are more options for charging capabilities and this can be charged at up to 4.5A. Bearing in mind some older devices and USB ports only output 0.5A – this is a lot higher charging rate.

Also to enable this quick charging you get an adaptor in the kit which I assume is for plugging into the mains. But I think you will need to make sure the plug is of the spec of the country you are in!

With this quick charging system Snowwolf say the device can be fully charged in 35 minutes!

The mod has a massive 2 inch TFT touchscreen and with that you can access the Variable Wattage and Temperature control user modes.

The Zephyr will output between 5 and 200W with a super quick 0.0008 second fire time via the new IFV960 chipset.

Included in the kit is an un-named tank – which for the purposes of this preview I have called the “Zephyr Tank” – clever huh!

This is pretty standard sub ohm tank fare with a 0.17ohm Mesh coil included. I am not sure if this is compatible with other coils but this is a WF coil. The “Wolf” tank for instance also uses WF coils so they might be compatible.

The tank has bottom adjustable airflow and a top filling mechanism.

So as stated above this device is powered using a single 18650 battery which is not included in the kit.

The battery compartment is accessed via the side magnetic cover.

The device will output between 16 and 22W and according to Snowwolf the IFV Smart Chip will control the output automatically. It seems that the power will adjust according to how long the fire button is held down – higher output in the first few seconds and then dropping down.

There is also a type C USB charging port and LED battery indicator.

The pod is the e-liquid container and where the coil lives and you will be pleased to hear you can replace the coil on this device.

There appears to be only one coil option available at present a 0.6ohm mesh with organic cotton wicking. This is also compatible with the Snowwolf Wocket Kit.

On the base of the coil is an airflow ring which you can use to adjust the airflow to your preference.

To access the filling port on the side of the pod you can remove the side panel and rubber cap.

I mean it really is pretty!

I am a huge fan of pod vaping devices at the moment as I am just celebrating 8 weeks off the ciggies. But I am hammering 20mg Nicotine Salts to keep me from craving so any pod kits that can help me are soooo welcome!

According to Urban Dictionary a Wocket is a girl that’s small enough to fit in your pocket, so a Wocket in your pocket..

Let’s have a look if the Snowwolf Wocket Pod Kit is up to the job!

What Can We Expect From The Snowwolf Wocket Pod Kit?

The Snowwolf Wocket Pod Kit is another in a huge bunch of what I call “box Pods“.

Basically small pod mod systems in a little box shape.

The Wocket is slightly a cut above the average though. Unlike the Lost Vape Orion Q and the Smok Trinity Alpha you actually get a 0.69inch screen and proper Variable Wattage. You can choose between 5-25W in 1W increments!

Inside the body of the device is an epic 1150mAh battery which is one of the bigger capacities I have seen in this type of kit. I think only beaten by the Horizon Magico Pod Kit.

The e-liquid lives in the removable pod which will hold up to 3ml of e-liquid in standard versions. However TPD compliant versions will only hold 2ml.

There is a top filling cap and you have two airflow adjustment options as well.

The pod also contains the replaceable coil head – which always gets brownie points with me – I don’t like having to throw away a whole pod when only the coil needs replacing.

You only get one coil option which is a 0.7ohm Kanthal A1 mesh coil.

There are 6 colour options to choose from – Lava Red, Jada Green, Onyx Rose, Unicorn Rainbow, Marble Gold and Silver Stardust.

Let’s get stuck in and see if this can make it as one of the best pod mods in my collection.

Build Quality & Design

I received the Snowwolf Wocket Pod Kit in the Silver Stardust design and it is just as beautiful in real life!

I also really love the packaging apart from a slightly awkward box which has no cut outs to get the lid off!

The box is well laid out and I got the prettiest gold braided USB cable – it really looks a quality kit.

This is all slightly let down by Snowwolf being super stingy and not including a pod or coils in the kit! So before you can vape on your pretty new Wocket you need to make sure you have bought the pod and coil too!

The instructions are good but the ones with the mod only have instructions for the mod. If you want details of pod removal, refilling etc you need the instructions from the pod packaging!

Also the pod package includes a handy little pack of O-rings which is great!

Battery/Mod

I really love the shape and styling of this – what a stunner!

The sides and base have a silver metal finish – even the vent holes in the base are decorative.

On the one side is the beautiful screen which I will talk more about below.

The opposite side has the “Snowwolf” name etched in and it really looks classy.

The front and back of my kit has the sparkly almost “jewel” like blue panels. They are smooth and no texture despite the pattern looking so deep and crisp.

One slight let-down on the back of the device is there is some sort of code stamped onto the inside metallic body which actually shows through the decorative panel slightly.

Not enough to be offensive but it is easy to see – was hard to capture on a photo though!

The pod is held in super firmly not a rattle in sight! In fact too flipping firmly I was struggling to remove it!

Screen and Controls

The screen is lovely and clear and all the info is laid out really well.

On the screen is the battery icon, the power level, how many puffs you have taken and the puff time (seconds).

You can reset the puff counter as described below.

The buttons are great and responsive and no rattles at all. I did find sometimes when pressing fire I accidentally covered the airflow inlet holes just above the fire button.

I love the screen and the controls on this device – no complaints at all there!

Pods

Wow could they make it any harder to remove the pod?

I could not pull it out at all. I had to resort to a little screwdriver prised between the body and the pod and once you pop it open slightly the pod pulls out easily. After about 10 removals the pod got easier to pull out!

Also pushing the pod back in is weird too it feels like it doesn’t want to fit then suddenly pops in?

There appears to be a magnetic pull on the pod plus little catches on the mid part of the pod where it meets the body.

The fill port is simple just pushes across. However I have knocked it open a couple of times so keep an eye on it.

One lovely feature is that although the pod has a kind of frosted finish, the area around the coil has a clear window. This is still tinted but lovely and clear to see your e-liquid level.

A slight problem is the shape of the pod as is has a deeper well where the coil is, if the device is tilted some of the liquid can stay in the area below the filler cap and produce a dry hit or make the e-liquid level look low.

So you need to tilt the device to fill the area where the coil is and then level it out.

Airflow

There are two airflow adjustment options:

• Bottom airflow – set this by removing the pod and turning the control ring on the base of the coil. Snowwolf say to close this fully for a “MTL” vape. Hmmm…
• Top airflow – this is located on the drip tip and is a fine tuning of the output airflow.

Quick Set-up Guide

The pod comes with a coil installed and a spare coil – so you will just need to fill the pod, install it and set the device up to get going!

I will tell you how to do all of those below – in case you were wondering!

Basic operation

• Turn On/Off = 5 quick presses of the fire button.
• To vape = press and hold the fire button.
• Change power level = press the toggle button located below the screen and this moves through the power levels 1W at a time. When you get to 25W the next press takes you back down to 5W.
• Reset puff counter = press the fire button and the toggle button together for 3 seconds
• Lock the buttons = press the fire button 3 times quickly to lock and unlock all the buttons

Battery capacity remaining

The battery capacity remaining is displayed on the screen as an icon.

Protections

• Short circuit / no pod = “Check Pod” is displayed on the screen
• 10 second maximum fire time = fire operation will cut out to prevent overheating
• Low voltage protection = “Low Battery” is displayed on the screen
• Overheat protection = over 80°C and the screen will display “Overfire”

How To Change The Pod

Hmm easier said than done this is. I don’t know if it is my dodgy hands, my pod or this is just stupidly difficult…

• The pod appears to be held in by tabs and magnetically.
• In theory you should be able to grab the middle of the pod as shown and squeeze slightly to pull the pod out.
• I found sometimes I had to gently prise the pod away from the body using a small blade screwdriver.
• After a few removals the pod did get easier to remove thankfully!
• Once you release the main grip of the pod it comes out easily.
• To install you need to align pod carefully and push back into position.

How To Fill The Snowwolf Wocket Pod

• The filling cap just pushes across to reveal the filling port.
• Add e-liquid through the fill port.
• I found I had to tilt the pod slightly to prevent airlocks or liquid coming back out of the fill port.
• Watch the fill level through the side of the pod.
• Slide the filling cap closed.

How To Change The Coil Head

You will need to keep the airflow adjustment ring on the base of the installed coil as a new coil does not include this.

I did find I was able to change the coil with some e-liquid still left in the pod and no leaks.

If you position the pod as shown on my photos below it seemed to work!

• Remove the pod from the device.
• The coil with airflow ring just pulls out of the base of the pod.
• Unscrew the airflow ring from the coil.
• Screw the airflow ring onto the new coil.
• Push the new coil into the pod.
• Install the pod back into the device.
• Refill the pod as described above and leave to stand for at least 10 minutes for the coil to absorb the e-liquid.

How To Charge The Battery

This device can support charging rates of up to 1A. My old USB ports on my PC will only output 0.5A.

The odd icons on the instruction leaflet appear to say not to vape whilst charging – so no “Pass-through”. Oh and I haven’t a “Scooby Doo” what the “U > 18V” stuff means?

• Using the beautiful braided USB cable supplied install the small end into the USB port on the Wocket.
• Install the large USB connector into a suitable USB outlet.
• Leave to charge – the battery icon on the screen will move showing the device is charging.
• When fully charged the screen will go blank. Remove the USB cable from the device and the USB outlet.

I found it took around 2 hours (1 hour 56 mins to be exact) to charge from empty to full using the 0.5A USB port on my PC. This may be quicker with USB ports which output 1A.

How Does the Snowwolf Wocket Pod Kit Perform?

Stamped on the coil is the resistance which is 0.7ohm and the wattage rating which says 10-15W. Obviously this kit can go to a higher power than 15W so be careful not to burn your coil out.

Coil Number 1

To start with as this is a lower power pod device I decided to go with a higher nicotine e-liquid.

I chose my usual 50% VG / 50% PG Apollo Tobacco Nic Salt e-liquid which has 20mg nic strength.

Initially I set both airflow settings to the half open position. I will experiment with the airflow once I have found the sweet spot of the power!

I worked my way through the different power levels to find where it performed best.

Below 11W there wasn’t really much to write home about – there was vapour and that was about it!

From 11W onward I started to get a good vapour and throat hit – but flavour was a bit burnt up to 15W.

At 15W onwards all I was getting was a horrible burnt hit taste? The pod had been standing for several days with liquid in before I began vaping so it is not a case of incorrect priming?

Basically I didn’t push this any higher as the taste was revolting? Why? I don’t know if the coil doesn’t like this e-liquid or if I have a faulty coil?

The only other thing I can do is change the coil and try a different e-liquid? I think this is a dodgy coil to be honest.

Coil Number 2

So after the first coil appears to be dodgy I tried a new coil and this time a different e-liquid.

High VG (70%) E-liquid

I filled the tank with some IVG Bubblegum which has 70% VG and 7mg nicotine salt added.

Picked up the device to vape and all I got was gurgles and a mouth full of e-liquid.

I removed the pod and lo and behold the majority of the e-liquid was lying in the well in the top of the battery compartment! So I cleaned it all out and let it dry for a day or so. This may have been my error in not pushing the coil in fully as after this leak I didn’t notice any more.

Trying to vape this there is what can only be described as a “weird taste”.

Starting at 5W and moving up I am only tasting the menthol bit of my bubblegum liquid – which normally is a very small proportion of the actual flavour. I use this liquid a lot so I know what sort of flavour to expect.

Again I could only comfortably vape up to 14W. Above this it was getting dry and close to burnt.

Thankfully after a few tank fulls the flavour really improved and this coil is now pretty close to the Smoant Pasito 0.6ohm coil for flavour in my eyes!

Phew I love this device again – I always loved how pretty it looks just was not impressed with the vape experience.

I am running this coil at 14W and it seems pretty happy right there!

50/50 Nic Salt E-liquid

So as it does seem like the first coil I tried was in fact faulty I will try some nic salt again in here.

I have a Crazysaltzzz Bubblegum Nic Salt in 20mg nicotine strength. The flavour of this usually is pretty close to the IVG high VG so will be easier to use this on an already used coil.

So I started at 10W just to be on the safe side and I found 12W to be a nice setting with nic salts in here. Again at 15W this was turning into a very dry vape so I didn’t push this coil any higher.

Airflow

The airflow on this device is more tailored for restrictive Direct to Lung (DTL) vapers.

Even with the bottom airflow almost closed and the top airflow closed this is still a very airy vape.

I wouldn’t call this an Mouth to Lung (MTL) device at all really. If you cover the airflow inlets above the fire button you can get a decent restriction!

Pod / Coil Life

The first coil was dodgy so there is possibly a quality control issue.

The second coil so far is doing well and have been using it for about 800 puffs and two different e-liquids.

Battery Life

The battery life will depend on your own vaping habits and obviously what power level you have the device set.

To give you a guide at 14W I got 5.5 hours of vaping and the screen showed I had taken 331 puffs. I was using low nicotine e-liquid so I was vaping more regularly than I would with nic salts for instance.

I didn’t notice any drop in power as the battery level decreased either.

Pros

• Beautiful to look at – stunning!
• Real variable wattage
• Clear screen
• Top filling and removable coils – brownie points for that
• Double airflow adjustment
• Really well made and quality accessories
• Great flavour when you have a coil that works!
• Lots of vapour

Cons

• No pod included with the kit – you have to buy this separately- bit stingy that Snowwolf!
• Only 1 coil resistance option
• Pod was super hard to remove from the mod!
• First coil was dodgy – perhaps a quality control issue?
• When pressing fire you can accidentally cover the airflow inlets quite often!

Final Review Verdict

There is no doubt this device is stunning. I love the look and feel of this.

The first coil being poor almost put me off this beautiful kit. I was close to tears as I love how pretty this is.

Luckily the second coil – after a shaky start – performed well and made me fall back in love with the little Wocket!

It is very well made and apart from a few niggles with the pod and a faulty coil this is a great value for money kit.

I hope Snowwolf will release some other coil options as I would love to use this kit for MTL vaping. I found the 0.7ohm coil and airflow to be way too airy for MTL vaping.

As I am a mainly MTL vaper with nic salts at the moment I am not using this kit as much as I would like to and that could be cured by some decent MTL coils being available.

It sure it pretty!

This is a single battery mod – which can use a 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery and will output up to 100W. I assume the 100W is only with the 21700 battery though.

The mod is designed to be small using the familiar space saving screw on battery cap seen on other small devices such as the Eleaf Pico and Vaptio Wall Crawler. 

On the side of the mod between the fire button and adjustment buttons is the 0.91 in OLED screen.

There are several user modes to choose from – Variable Wattage, Temperature control (Ti/Ni200/SS306,316 & 317) and TCR.

Included in the kit version is the Snowwolf Wolf Tank Mini – which as the name suggests is the mini version of the tank included in the Mfeng kit.

The coil head for this tank is simply called the “mini coil” and I can’t see any mention of the material or resistance of this coil.

To refill you simply twist the top cap to expose the filling port.

The tank has a bottom adjustable airflow control ring.

There are 4 colours available – Rainbow, Silver, Gold and Gunmetal.

The previous Snowwolf squonk mod the weird dual bottle VFeng was not exactly a looker so this is way prettier!

The atomiser has no name on the Snowwolf website (brings back memories of the un-named RDA in the Snowwolf X-Feng kit).

Also there is very little info on the atomiser – it looks like a RDA and the kit does include cotton and coils so I think it is.

The Mod is the 0-100 mod which as the name suggests will output up to 100W when using a 21700 battery. It can also use a 20700 or 18650 battery but the maximum output is likely to be lower.

There is a 0.91inch OLED screen making this an adjustable regulated mod.

The included squonk bottle has a 7.5ml capacity and is accessed in the same way as accessing the battery.
