In for review is the Smok Tech247 kit!

tech247 main

Smok knocks out many pod kits – with their Nord and Novo ranges being the most popular.

smok tech247 banner

Thank you to Vape Club for sending this over for review! I will report back honestly on my findings of the kit in my possession!

Let’s get stuck in!

What To Expect From The Smok Tech247…

This looks to be a simple pod kit at a first glance – but looks can be deceiving!

smok tech247 components

For a start this has Variable Wattage control – meaning you can adjust the output manually from 5 to 30W. If this sounds a bit too techy for you it will also automatically set the optimum output for the coil installed.

tech 247 output

Plus a 0.69in OLED screen is provided to view all your vape data and make adjustments.

Inside the device is a 1800mAh battery which should keep you vaping for a while. A USB Type C port is provided for charging at a 1.6A max charge rate.

tech 247 battery

To fire you can either manually press the fire button or inhale on the mouthpiece to trigger the automatic draw firing. You can also lock the fire button so it is draw fire only to help prevent accidental firing in a pocket or bag.

tech 247 fire

The pod is refillable via the top fill port with up to 4ml of your own e-liquid. Sadly for us in TPD regulated areas the capacity is reduced to 2ml.

tech 247 pod features

This uses removable coils and they are a new range especially for the Tech 247.

These are the “M Series” coils and they come in 0.8ohm (included in kit), 0.6ohm (included in kit) and 0.4ohm (available separately).

tech247 m series coils

You can adjust the incoming airflow to your preference using the slider on the pod.

There are 8 colours to choose from: Black, Silver, Gun Metal, Red Black, Pink Purple, Green Gradient, Blue Gradient and Purple Blue.

Smok Tech247 Design & Build Quality

I received the Purple Blue version in the 2ml TPD friendly variant.

tech 247 front view

It comes in a shiny fancy box with plenty of info.

Remember to scan the QR code A on the top of the box with your mobile phone camera to open the verification webpage.

tech 247 verification panel

It will ask you to scratch off the panel on code B and scan it to fully verify that the device is genuine. I had a bit of a struggle as my phone kept denying access to my camera. I got around this by taking a photo of the QR code sticker and choosing the photo option (see arrow).tech247 verify 1

Then it will ask you to input your email address and will confirm that the device is genuine.

tech247 verify 2

When you open the box you will pull out a plastic box tray type thingy!

On the top of the tray the device and pod is sat nested into the packaging.

tech247 packaging

Under the tray is another tray which you have to remove – this was quite tight and very difficult to remove even with the hole cut out in the base which is supposed to help.

tech 247 tray

Inside that tray you will find the Lanyard, spare coil, USB Cable and paperwork.

When you get the device out of the box – there is a protective film applied to the screen area – make sure to remove this.tech 247 screen protector

Also there is a horrible QR code sticker on the device itself. I removed this and it left behind all the sticky residue.

tech247 sticker

I tried Nail Varnish remover in the end to try and shift it, but it did discolour the mod a bit. Smok this is very naughty please apply the sticker elsewhere!

The lanyard is of good quality and even has a handy little mouthpiece cover to help prevent dirt getting in.

tech247 lanyard

When it comes to paperwork – there is a lot of it! There is a warning card, safety booklet, warranty card and the instruction manual.

tech 247 paperwork

The instructions booklet is very thick with only 6 pages per language. It is decent in terms of getting up and running but there is no information on protections and faults?

tech 247 instructions

Sadly there is no digital online version (I often prefer to read the online / download versions as you can zoom in!)

Smok Tech247 Mod

The device has a textured finish – almost like a rubber spray. As this version has the gradient colour scheme, it starts as a lovely Lilac at the top of the mod and it fades into a light Baby Blue towards the base.tech 247 finish

It has lots of rounded smooth edges and feels like a bar of soap in the hand, very comfortable.

tech 247 shape

On the front of the mod the “tech247” logo is etched in using a White finish. Other branding appears above the screen in the same finish.

The rear is plain apart from the text “Powered by IQ chip technology” in White at the bottom.tech 247 rear

One edge is plain but the other houses the screen, USB port and power button.

You can install the pod either way around but it will only work when the airflow adjuster is the opposite side to the screen. This is because of the position of the electrical connectors in the pod compartment.

tech 247 pod compartment

Inside the pod compartment you will also find the securing magnets which are extremely strong but pulling out the pod is easy. There is no rattle or wobble to the pod.

The base of the mod is a Black rubber like material which helps prevent scratching or damage to the mod or surface it is sat on. It does stand vertically and is stable.

tech 247 mod base

Etched into the base are the required legal symbols, battery capacity and “Designed by Smok”.

Workface

The main workface comprises an oval panel of Black plastic.

tech 247 workface

At the top is the oval fire button which is quite small at 8x5mm but it is clicky and responsive.

Below that is the screen area, which is invisible until the screen wakes up.

The screen layout is clear and bright.

tech 247 screen view

On the left is the battery icon and charge remaining in %.

In the centre is the power level (in Watts) and the padlock symbol padlock closed to display when the power button is locked. It does not display when unlocked.

Finally on the right it tells you the coil resistance in ohms ( Ω ) and then the puff counter is bottom right.

tech 247 workface screen on

At the bottom of the panel is the USB Type C port which works fine and slightly recessed to prevent damage to the contacts.

Smok Tech247 Pod

This is quite heavily tinted and 2/3rds of the pod are obscured with a solid Black area. I think this is a feature on the 2ml TPD pods as there may be an insert inside the pod to reduce the capacity.

tech 247 pod views

You can see the e-liquid level a bit on the remaining 1/3rd of the pod but it is a bit dark.

tech 247 eliquid view

This has a strange cylindrical mouthpiece which is only around 8mm in diameter, but it is comfortable and you do get used to it.

tech 247 mouthpiece

On the top of the pod is the fill port cover which is made from a thick Silicone material so should not wear out as quickly as some port covers.

tech 247 fill port cover

The outer edge of the cover has an arrow marking and this is where you lift to access the fill port. You can also swing the cover out of the way for filling.

The oval fill port itself measures 4.25mm x 3.35mm which is fine for the majority of bottle nozzles. I did get a few issues with air locks, where the pod did not fill fully. There was a slightly lower level on one side whilst the other side was overflowing. I am not sure if this issue is caused by the TPD capacity reducer, restricting the flow of e-liquid through the pod.tech 247 pod fill port

On the side opposite the mouthpiece is the airflow adjustment slider. It doesn’t have much travel but is surprisingly effective!

tech 247 airflow slider

The pod base houses 2 magnets which secure the pod into the mod. Also you will see coil base which provides the electrical contact.tech 247 pod base

It is extremely hard to remove the coil. I tried with my strong thumbnails but it would not budge. You will need a flat blade screwdriver or similar to prise out the coil.

tech 247 prise coil

Quick Start Guide

The device arrives with the 0.8ohm coil installed.

On the base of the pod is an isolator sticker which must be removed after filling with e-liquid before vaping. The sticker prevents the device firing before there is e-liquid in the pod. If the device fires with an empty pod you will permanently damage the coil.tech247 pod isolator sticker

Make sure to check the battery is fully charged – mine arrived with only 57% charge remaining.

Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off = Press the power button 5 times to turn on/off.
  • Vaping = Simply inhale on the mouthpiece to trigger the auto draw activation or manually press the fire button.
  • Lock power button = If you want to just use the auto draw activation and lock the power button, press the power button 4 times. Repeat this step to unlock the button.
  • Battery indicator = The screen will display the battery charge remaining.
  • Battery indicator when charging = The screen will display the charge percentage and approximate charge time remaining.
  • Adjust airflow = Slide the airflow slider fully up to open up the airflow or down to make it tighter. You can of course choose any position on the slider to suit.tech 247 airflow adjustment
  • Output = The device will automatically set the recommended output power level but you can adjust it further.
  • Adjust output = Press the power button 3 times and the output value will flash. Each further press of the power button adds 1W to the output. Stop pressing when at the desired power level. Note: if you remove the pod the output will reset to the default – so you will have to adjust again – bit annoying!
  • Puff counter = you can reset the puff counter by removing the pod, then holding down the power button whilst replacing the pod.

Protections

tech247 protectionsSadly the instructions only cover one fault / protection scenario…

  • Overtime Protection: If you vape for over 8 seconds the screen will display “Time Over” and the current firing will cut out. Press the fire button or inhale to continue.

During use I have also found…

  • No Atomiser: Clean all the pod and pen contacts. Replace with a new pod. If fault persists the device may be defective.
  • Low Battery: When the battery charge drops to a point where there is no power left to vape, the
  • AUTO DRAW ONLY: This means the power button is locked. Unlock it for adjustments or manual firing.

How To Charge The Battery

The charging rate is specified as 1.6A.

  • Using a USB type C cable, connect the small end into the USB port on the device
  • Connect the large end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet.
  • The screen will display the charge percentage and approximate charge time remaining. Sadly you will only see this when you plug in the USB cable. The screen will turn off during charging, so briefly press the power button to wake up the screen to view the charge level.tech247 charging screen

How To Fill the Pod

If using a new pod leave to stand for 5-10 minutes after first fill to allow the coil to saturate with e-liquid.

You do not need to remove the pod for refilling – I have just removed it to make photographing the process easier!

  • Lift up the port cover in the direction of the arrow and swing it out of the way.tech 247 fill port opening
  • Add e-liquid to the port whilst observing the level through the side of the pod.tech 247 filling
  • Replace the fill port cover firmly.

How To Change The Coil

If there is e-liquid in the pod you may need absorbent material when you remove the coil as the remaining e-liquid will escape.

  • Remove the pod from the mod.
  • Use a flat bladed screwdriver or similar to prise the coil from the base of the pod.tech 247 prise coil
  • Pull out the coil – if there is any resistance it is due to the sealing O-ring doing its job.tech 247 coil removal
  • Push a new coil into the pod base. Make sure the 2 flat edges on the coil base align with the 2 flat edges on the base of the pod.tech 247 coil align
  • Make sure the coil is pushed in fully.
  • Fill the pod and install on the mod – make sure that the airflow adjuster is the opposite side to the screen.
  • Leave to stand for around 10 minutes before vaping to allow the e-liquid to soak into the coil head.

How Does The Smok Tech247 Perform?

I used my 50% PG / 50% VG Bubblegum e-liquid with 6mg nicotine salt. I mix this myself from the IVG concentrate.

If any of these terms are over your head – have a read of our handy guides below!

The 0.8ohm coil has the Blue O-ring at the base and the 0.6ohm coil has the Red O-ring at the base.

tech 247 kit coils

0.8ohm M Coil

The device automatically set the output to 14W but it felt a bit weak to me, so I increased the power to 16W which was a big improvement.

However this is not quite as flavourful as other pod kits such as the OXVA Xlim SQ Pro or Uwell Caliburn.

It is not lacking flavour by any means – I would rate it around 7/10 but I was hoping for a bit more as other Smok pod kits have performed well for flavour.

The vapour is quite thin and slightly dry and there is not much warmth either.

So not a failure at all, but I was hoping for a bit more.

0.6ohm M Coil

The mod automatically set to 17W for this coil.

For some reason this just does not feel right?

The vapour is very hot, dry and you can only take very short vapes.

I was wondering if it was because the power was too high, but I dropped it down to 16W and it still felt similar but with less heat. In fact it was only tolerable at 15W which is lower power than the 0.8ohm?

The mod feels accurate in its output as the 0.8ohm coil was perfectly happy at 16W, so why shouldn’t the 0.6ohm be happy at a higher output?

My conclusion is that the airflow doesn’t open wide enough for this coil. With some extra air coming in this would cool the vapour and make it travel quicker. It feels a bit hot and claustrophobic?

Even with the airflow slider fully open it just does not feel right. Try a normal pod kit with the airflow almost closed and that is the feeling you get. The vapour needs somewhere to swish around but it feels like you are sucking straight from the top of the coil and it is not very comfortable?

For me this kit would shine if Smok replaced the 0.6ohm coil with 2 of the 0.8ohm coils instead. They seem to be more suited to the airflow available.

Airflow

To help rate how restricted the airflow is, I use a scale – where 0 = fully closed, no airflow up to 10 = breathing fresh air.

For the 0.8ohm coil I found fully open was around 5.5 and fully closed was 1. So this happily caters to MTL vapers and may even suit those who like an RDL vape. I mostly used this is in the mid airflow position.

With the 0.6ohm coil the airflow was too restricted even in the fully open setting. Not in the way that the airflow was too tight, more in the way the vapour was too hot and didn’t seem to have the space to cool down? Fully closed I would rate it around 0.5 and fully open I would say 5. Which is odd as this coil has tighter airflow than the 0.8ohm which is supposed to be for MTL vaping?

Mod Performance

The auto draw and button operation were super quick to activate. Also the output felt correct according to the wattage shown on the screen. I like the fact you can lock the power button too which prevents accidental activation in a pocket or bag.

One slight annoyance was that the screen went off during charging. The initial screen shows charging time remaining and charge percentage, but when the screen goes off you can’t just check. You have to press the power button but this brings up the main screen with only the battery icon and percentage on the left – you lose the time remaining screen. Also there is no way of knowing when fully charged apart from pressing the button.

Another slight annoyance was the fact that if you remove the pod the wattage will reset to the default. This is not a problem if you are happy with the output the mod automatically selects. But I did increase the output and had to adjust it again after removing the pod to check for any leaks!

The estimated charging time on the screen is not always accurate. Also the actual charging time was not consistent either.

For example:

  • Charge 1: device said 74 minutes approximately until fully charged, it actually took 79 minutes – so the estimate was not too far off.
  • Charge 2: the screen said 88 minutes to charge whilst it actually took 69 minutes.
  • Charge 3: estimated 90 minutes, actually took 75.

Leaks

Not a single dribble – great work Smok!

Battery Life

This is always variable, different factors such as your own vaping habits, power level, coil and length of inhale will affect this. I am a very heavy vaper, but as I guide I got…

  • 0.8ohm coil at 16W: a whopping 10-12 hours of vaping (416-436 puffs and 5-6 refills) – pretty good going!
  • 0.6ohm coil at between 15W and 17W (I did set it to 15W but forgot that it changes back to 17W when you remove the pod!): another long stint of 13 hours (403 puffs, 6 refills)!

Pros

  • Screen clear and well laid out
  • Good quality lanyard with mouthpiece cover
  • Lovely design and texture to the device
  • Easy to see e-liquid levels
  • Adjustable output and airflow is always a good thing to have
  • Top fill makes life easier
  • Generous kit contents considering the price
  • Ability to lock the power button
  • Auto draw and manual firing makes me happy as you have a backup if the auto draw system fails.
  • Excellent battery capacity means longer between charges!
  • No leaks

Cons

  • QR sticker applied to the device is hard to remove. Leaves behind the sticky stuff. Spoils the appearance.
  • Hard to pull out the coil with a fingernail – you will need a tool for this.
  • Difficult to unpack (I do have some dexterity issues though)
  • Instructions OK but do not cover fault / protection alerts and charging instructions
  • Only one button to make adjustments which some might find fiddly
  • Only 1/3 of the pod has a decent e-liquid view (may only be issue on 2ml TPD pods)
  • Airlocks when filling (again may be due to the 2ml capacity reducer)
  • Charging timer only shows when you plug cable in. After that the screen goes off and you have to press the button which only shows the main screen.
  • If you remove the pod the output will reset to the default. A bit annoying if you have adjusted the wattage manually
  • The airflow does not open sufficiently to make the 0.6ohm coil perform well

Smok Tech247 Review Verdict

I love the shape and texture of the mod, it does feel nice in the hand!

The large battery capacity is surprising for such a compact device and I found you could get a lot of vapes between charges. Initially I did think the charging was a bit slow (1.6A charge rate compared to most kits having a 2A rate) but this does have a bigger battery than a lot of pod kits!

In general the build quality is great, but I have had to reduce this score due to the sticker which left sticky residue on the beautiful mod finish – bit of a schoolboy error that Smok!

The ease of use score dropped a few marks due to missing info from the instructions, needing a tool to pull out the coil and there is only one button to make adjustments.

Once you have the settings correct though, it is very simple to use with the ease of auto draw plus the reassuring backup of a manual fire button should that fail (which I have had happen on kits in the past).

The 0.8ohm coil was good, but for some reason the 0.6ohm coil could not get enough airflow. Instead it kicked out a very hot and dry vapour which I could only tolerate in short inhales. Sadly this did impact the score for the 0.6ohm coil – which is a shame as I believe it is the airflow design causing this not the actual coil. I would prefer 2 of the 0.8ohm coils in the kit instead.

I do like the very useful top fill, although the pod is spoilt by the 2ml TPD capacity reducer. This impedes the view of the e-liquid level and I think causes the airlocks when filling.

Whilst there are better pod kits for a similar price, there are also a lot worse! The price is reasonable and the kit contents are generous with USB Cable, Lanyard and a spare coil.

Overall it performs OK, but I would not swap it for my Voopoo Argus G2 or P2 or my favourite OXVA Xlims. I do wish there were 2 of the 0.8ohm coils as the 0.6ohm coil just does not seem to perform well in this kit.

The SMOK Spaceman B600 is a range of disposable vapes that offer straight forward, easy options for vaping on the move.

Coming from a brand that not all that long ago were pushing the absolute limits of what sub-ohm vaping could handle, this is the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

SMOK Spaceman b600 review

If you told me a few years back that SMOK would be pushing out disposable devices like this, I probably would have laughed!

Times have now changed and many manufacturers have been jumping aboard the disposables train. SMOK are the latest in a long line, such is the popularity of disposable vaping devices at present.

SMOK offer a vast range of different devices, so not only do the cater to the sub-ohm, high wattage cloud chasing market, they also offer refillable pods, starter kits, disposables and everything in-between these days.

Buy 3 for £12!

What Can We Expect From The SMOK Spaceman B600 Range?

So, this is a range of disposable vapes featuring 15 different flavours and it is one of a very large number disposables bearing the SMOK brand name. Following on from ranges such as the MBAR, Club Bar and Minione to name a few.

SMOK Spaceman b600 flavours

There’s actually six different ranges of SMOK Spaceman, they even have their own website separate to SMOK’s own one!

The usual specs are present here, so you are looking at 2ml worth of e-liquid contained within the device, a mesh coil, 400mAh battery rated for up to 600 puffs and 2% (20mg) nicotine salt strength available.

They are set up to deliver a mouth-to-lung vape, similar to the draw you would expect from a cigarette. The nicotine salt present in the e-liquid is absorbed faster within the bloodstream, to give a satisfying nicotine hit.

Spaceman b600 kit contents

SMOK’s Spaceman B600 range are disposable vapes, which means that they are ready to go right out of the box and activated simply by drawing on the mouthpiece. They are aimed at people who are making the switch to vaping from cigarettes or who just want a convenient vape.

Vape Club have very kindly sent us over the full range of SMOK Spaceman B600 disposables for review, so let’s see what they have to offer…

Specs/features

  • Pre-filled with 2ml of nicotine salt-based e-liquid
  • 20mg nicotine salt strength
  • Mouth to lung vape
  • 15 different flavours
  • Draw activated
  • Disposable vape
  • Mesh coil
  • Light indicator
  • 400mAh built in battery

Design and Build Quality

These are tiny little devices, one of the smallest disposables that I have had my hands on. Measuring a petite 66mm x 34mm x 19mm and weighing only 32g. This makes them very pocket friendly indeed and they get swallowed up in the palm of my hand!

smok spaceman in hand

They are manufactured from plastic and have some pretty funky metallic colour schemes, but otherwise there isn’t too much to write home about. These are a disposable device after all, so they aren’t designed to hang around long!

One aspect to note is that weirdly the mouthpiece is rubberised and can be moved and bent around, which is the first time I have come across that in a disposable.

SMOK Spaceman B600 disposables come pre-filled with 2ml of 20mg nicotine salt-based e-liquid, are fitted with a mesh coil and have a 400mAh built in battery.

Once they have reached the end of their lifespan the light indicator at the base of the device will blink away, letting you know that it is time to dispose of it and get a new one.

Watermelon Strawberry Bubblegum

watermelon strawberry bubblegum

They say

The Watermelon Strawberry Bubblegum Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape combines sweet, juicy Watermelon and Strawberry notes with a sugary Bubblegum base.

We say

I’m pretty averse to Watermelon and Bubblegum flavours so I tend to recoil in horror when I encounter one, as I’m yet to try one that will change my opinion on it! But one of my friends absolutely loves these flavours, so as with anything flavour wise it is horses for courses.

So, actually this one isn’t too bad, I didn’t actually mind it. I got more of the Strawberry flavour than the Watermelon or Bubblegum, which I felt were more like undertones in this vape. It isn’t too sugary or sweet either which is a plus point.

Overall flavour wise it is quite subtle, which suits me just fine with this flavour profile!

The Tobacco Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape delivers a rich, earthy and smoky tobacco flavour from inhale to exhale.

We say

‘Are you vaping Chocolate?’

Which is exactly the first thing that my wife said to me when I pulled this out and started puffing away on it! And I felt it did have a bit of a Dark Chocolate vibe to it, with some Chocolatey undertones to it. And yes, it does give off quite a Chocolately smell too.

It is quite a rich and earthy tobacco flavour, which appeals to my palate, being a fan of tobacco-based eliquids! I found that it has quite a sharp throat hit to it as well, even using a nicotine salt blend, which I did quite enjoy.

I get the rich layers of tobacco conveyed to me with this tobacco flavour and I found it to be a really enjoyable little evening vape. Especially when paired with a nice glass of Whisky!

Rainbow

rainbow

They say

The Rainbow Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape authentically captures the taste of popular sweets by pairing fruity notes with sugary candy.

We say

My first impression, after reading the flavour description and taking this one out of the wrapper, was that this might be a take on the popular Skittles sweets in disposable vape form.

However, what I get from Rainbow is a candied Grape and Blackcurrant flavour, which totally wasn’t what I was expecting!

It’s not too strong flavour wise either, quite subtle and pleasant, with no overwhelming sharpness and it’s not over-sweetened either.

I’m not sure what the other flavours in the Rainbow are supposed to be, as I couldn’t detect much else, but it’s a nice enough disposable to puff away on!

Blue Razz Lemonade

blue razz lemonade

They say

The Blue Razz Lemonade Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape enhances a sweet and slightly tangy Blue Raspberry flavour with a zesty Lemonade base note.

We say

Now this is pretty tasty. I’m not normally a particularly big fan of Blue Razz Lemonade flavours but I did enjoy this one!

There’s a tangy Blueberry and Raspberry flavour underpinned by a crisp citrus Lemonade undertone.

It’s definitely tangy and zesty, much like the flavour description and leaves me with a nice and sweet aftertaste.

I think the reason this one worked well for me was that it wasn’t overflavoured, like a lot of the Blue Razz Lemonade flavours that I have tried in the past. The balance of flavour is just right, as is the level of sweetener.

Blueberry Cherry Cranberry

blueberry cherry cranberry

They say

The Blueberry Cherry Cranberry Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape contrasts the sweetness of Blueberry and Cherry with the uniquely sharp tang of Cranberry.

We say

This is a flavour profile I quite like, but unfortunately I didn’t feel that it packed enough of a punch in the flavour department for me.

I can detect the Blueberry, Cherry and Cranberry flavour notes but they all seem to wash into each other and deliver quite a muted flavour experience. It also seemed to be lacking in the sweetness from the Blueberry, the richness of the Cherry and the sharpness of the Cranberry. It was quite dull.

I found it a bit of a boring vape if I’m going to be honest. Bit of a shame as I was looking forward to this one!

Lemon Lime

lemon lime

They say

The Lemon Lime Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape pairs a duo of citrus fruits, complementing the zesty taste of Lemon with the even zingier notes of Lime.

We say

Lemon? Check. Lime? Check. Yes, this disposable is packing both of these, as expected and packing these flavours in spades.

The Lemon is indeed zesty and the Lime is indeed zingy. You have a zesty, zingy citrus vape that reminds of a Lemon Lime Ice Pop.

It leaves me with a tangy taste on my tongue and the end and I can definitely say there is a long lasting Lemon and Lime aftertaste.

Can’t fault it, it lives up to the flavour description and delivers a tasty citrus vape.

Mint

mint

They say

The Mint Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape features a one-note flavour, delivering a cool and slightly botanical mint flavour in every puff.

We say

The flavour description isn’t going to excite many people, but I do like a mint flavoured vape and if you are looking for one in a disposable, then look no further.

It does well to capture the taste of a mint sweet with a slightly cool aftertaste, kind of like what you would get when eating a Polo. I find it quite refreshing and a nice change of pace from the fruity heavy flavours in this range!

Cola Ice

cola ice

They say

The Cola Ice Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape pairs sweet and sparkling Cola notes with a chilly layer of ice, capturing the coolness of ice cubes in your drink.

We say

Oooh yes, Cola Ice definitely hit the spot for me!

It features a well-blended Cola flavour with a nice breezy chill at the end, alongside a little fizz, encapsulating the vibe of having a refreshing sip of the real thing.

Really well done and I very much enjoyed vaping this, one of my favourites from the range!

Cherry Ice

cherry ice

They say

The Cherry Ice Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape chills the sweet yet tart taste of Cherry with an arctic burst of ice on the exhale.

We say

Cherry Ice nails the Cherry flavouring, capturing the richness you get from a Cherry and blends it with a decent amount of koolada on the exhale.

A very well blended Cherry Ice flavour, one of the better ones that I have tried!

Watermelon Ice

watermelon ice

They say

The Watermelon Ice Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape cools down the sweet, bold taste of juicy Watermelon with a cool blast of ice on the exhale.

We say

Ugh, another Watermelon flavour!

It’s quite a full flavoured Watermelon mixed with koolada, which thankfully doesn’t taste too artificial, but it isn’t something I can get on with.

I’m quite biased as a noted Watermelon hater, I can get around it when it is mixed with something else but not as a straight up Watermelon ice vape!

Definitely wasn’t one for me, but I gave this away to a friend who liked it so much that they came straight back and asked where they could order more from, so I’ll score it accordingly to their feedback rather than mine!

Fruit Gum

fruit gum

They say

The Fruit Gum Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape fuses a juicy-tasting mixed fruit medley with a sugary candy base note, offering a sweet vape from start to finish.

We say

Now this one is fruity and not too sweet, with a note of Grape that I pick up on (not much else in the way of fruit!) and a sweet undertone to it. Not much in the way of a gum texture, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Now my wife, who enjoys these types of flavours certainly more than I do, absolutely loves this one.

She said it reminded her of a Jolly Rancher style disposable that she used to buy a while back and really enjoyed. She also gets more of a mixed fruit element to it than I do, so it shows that everyone’s tastes are different!

If it makes the wife happy, then I am happy, so this gets a good score based on that alone!

Fizzy Cherry

fizzy cherry

They say

The Fizzy Cherry Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape replicates the taste of Cherryade by pairing a rich, Dark Cherry flavour with a fizzy soda finish.

We say

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Most fizzy Cherry disposables that I have tried have been attempts at replicating Cherry Cola, but this one is a little different.

I’m pleased to say that it does a good job of delivering a Cherryade style vape, with the flavouring of the Cherry Ice mixed in with some fizzy soda flavouring and takes me back to my youth when I used to spend pocket money on bottles of the stuff from the corner shop.

Tasty stuff!

Kiwi Passionfruit Guava

kiwi passionfruit guava

They say

The Kiwi Passionfruit Guava Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape sweetens tart Kiwi and Passionfruit notes with an exotic Guava flavour.

We say

This flavour is usually a favourite of mine in a disposable and seems to be ever present in just about any range of disposables going.

It does deliver the Kiwi, Passionfruit and Guava notes, though I found them to be quite muted. It doesn’t pack the in-your-face exotic flavour punch from some other brands on the market.

It isn’t a bad vape, it just seemed a bit under flavoured to me.

Blueberry Raspberry

blueberry raspberry

They say

The Blueberry Raspberry Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape pairs the sweetness of Blueberry with tart and juicy Raspberry notes.

We say

Quite a straightforward no-frills Blueberry and Raspberry flavour here.

The flavours both shine through, I’m able to detect both the sweet Blueberry flavouring with the tart Raspberry, this has been blended well and the flavour is just about the right level here.

It is fairly sweet too. The flavours taste quite authentic and I didn’t pick up on any artificial tasting nastiness.

I also get a touch of sourness from this vape, but it definitely isn’t as sour as the Blueberry Sour Raspberry that I will cover below!

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

blueberry sour raspberry

They say

Blueberry Sour Raspberry Smok Spaceman B600 disposable vape sharpens the sweetness of juicy Blueberry with tangy blue Raspberry notes.

We say

There’s not a whole lot of difference between this and the Blueberry Raspberry above. It has the same Blueberry and Raspberry flavours and is just a touch more sweeter and has a bit more of a sour taste to it.

I actually preferred this to the straightforward Blueberry Raspberry flavour, the increased level of sourness appealed to my palate much more and gave it just a bit more depth overall.

I guess choosing between this and the less sour Blueberry Raspberry boils down to whether you prefer your vapes on the sour side!

Puff Count

SMOK rate these as offering up to 600 puffs and they have 2ml worth of 20mg nicotine-salt based e- liquid prefilled and a 400mAh battery.

That is pretty much the same as any other disposable on the market, and this is mainly due to the constraints placed on e-liquid capacity and nicotine strength by the TPD regulations.

smok spaceman b600 disposables

To see if these do offer up to 600 puffs, I used the Cola Ice flavour throughout the day and kept track of how many puffs I had been taking on it.

I found that I got a very respectable 571 puffs before the light at the base began to flash and it would no longer vape, so not too far off of 600.

Towards the last 50 or so puffs the vape did get pretty weak in terms of flavour and nicotine hit.

As with any disposable vape the amount of puffs you will get from it can vary depending on your vaping habits, such as how frequently you take a puff and how long you draw on the device for.

Final Review Verdict

I’ve used many products from SMOK over the years and found that they do really tend to deliver on the performance front. This is the first time I have tried any disposables from them and I’m happy to say that these do the job very well indeed.

Aside from a couple that I wasn’t a particularly big fan of, the range does offer some very good flavours and a few of these flavours are amongst some of the best tasting disposables that I have tried. The Tobacco, Cola Ice and Blue Razz Lemonade to name a few!

One downside to this range is that flavour wise, these are pretty much the same as most other disposable ranges on the market, which is a bit of a recurring theme. I’d love to see some different flavours, such as some dessert and tobacco blends rather than the same fruit blends!

What To Expect From The Smok Nord GT…

The Smok Nord GT is in the more advanced pod kit category – with replaceable coils and plenty of adjustments to play with!

nord gt components

This has an internal 2500mAh battery which is a large capacity for a pod kit and USB Type C charging at a 1.7A charge rate should mean it is back up and running quickly.

nord gt battery

The output is specified as 5-80W – but you can adjust the wattage to suit the coil you have installed.

All of your user data is displayed on the side mounted 0.69in OLED screen and fire and adjustment buttons allow you to make alterations.

nord gt screen

On the rear of the mod is the stepless airflow inlet control slider to tailor the incoming airflow to suit your own vaping style.

nord gt airflow

This uses removable and refillable pods. A side mounted fill port will allow you to add up to 5ml of your own e-liquid. Sadly for us poor buggers in TPD regulated areas this capacity will be restricted to 2ml.

nord gt pod

The pod is compatible with the existing RPM3 range of coils which are also used in the RPM5 and RPM5 Pro kits.

nord gt coils

There are 2 coil resistances to choose from – 0.15ohm and 0.23ohm Meshed and both are included in the kit.

Plus you can choose from 2 device finishes – the Leather coated series or the Regular series with intricate IML patterns.

A fast and comfy, modern-looking device, the Mag Solo utilises two different types of battery and can obtain up to 100W of power!

Smok has paired the device with the new Smok T-Air Subtank, which itself takes advantage of a new range of Mesh stock coils.

Smok sent us the standard 5ml version of the kit for review!

As always my thoughts and views are my own, after spending a considerable time testing.

The full Kit can be purchased with the 5ml or EU 2ml tank.

Smok Mag Solo Kit Design and Build Quality

For this review, I will be only concentrating on the Mag Solo mod!

We do have a separate review for the T-Air Sub Ohm tank, please check it out.

Smok sent the Blue Haze design, which has a beautiful shiny metallic finish.

Smok Mag Solo Mod

This device is slim and sleek.

Smok says that it’s delicate, but I think it’s perfect for an all-day carry-around device!

The device materials include a Zinc Alloy chassis and soft-touch Faux Leather with a smoked plastic screen. The materials certainly don’t feel cheap to me!

Measuring 43.6mm in width and 95.2mm in height, the mod weighs in at 135g (without batteries). It is slightly on the weighty side but very comfortable to hold for long periods!

The shape of the mod somewhat mimics the grip of a hand weapon, when side on that is.

From The Top

The mod has a 510 connection with well-turned threading and a spring-loaded, Gold-Plated connection pin.

This device will take atomisers with a diameter of up to 32mm!

Leather Padding

Coloured soft Faux Leather padding has been added to the back of this mod, which serves as a soft cushion for your hand. The leather has stitching which gives the device a bit of individuality!

The Chassis

The device has been made of Zinc Alloy and has a metal cradle with advertising on one side saying “Smok”. The cradle surrounds the back and sides of the mod, this has been seen on other mods by different manufacturers!

The Faux Leather has been embossed with Mag Solo.

The Workface

This device has a 0.96” TFT smoked plastic screen, with 5 colour themes.

As expected the screen shows all the normal expected information.

While bright indoors, I found the screen was hard to read in direct sunlight!

Action Buttons

The mod has a rocker-type adjustment button along with a 1.5A USB Type C charge port on the workface.

Above the screen is a metal fire/action button, when pressed it has an excellent click!

Battery Housing

Operated by a simple pull-back catch, the door has been printed with all the typical information including design and legal logos.

The door has no movement when open and with batteries in it is stable with no battery rattle.

I did have to put a little pressure on the door to close it when installing a battery!

On the inside of the door, you will see that Smok has covered the whole door with a battery connection plate, which is made of Gold-Plated Stainless Steel.

Battery Compartment

This mod will run on an 18650 or a 21700 battery.

When new, the device will have the 18560 battery adaptor installed.

If you look into the battery compartment you will see a Red “+”, this is to aid battery orientation!

The compartment has also been lined with a plastic film, which helps to avoid battery short circuits due to damaged battery wraps.

The Smok Mag Solo has been designed well, with a high-quality manufacture. It’s a sleek and beautiful device that has been well-formed and it fits the hand with comfort!

Smok Mag Solo Quick Start Guide

Today I’m going to use the mod with its intended tank – the T-Air Subtank. I have installed one of the 0.4Ω mesh coils that came with the kit.

Later I put on an RTA to test the higher output of the device!

My liquid of choice is Mango Burst from E-Juice Warehouse.

Smok T-Air Sub Ohm Tank Prep

Please follow my guide for prepping the coil and filling the T-Air Subtank here.

Smok Mag Solo Mod – Basic Operation

  • Insert a 18650 or 21700 battery into the device – following the battery orientation guide inside the mod
  • The Mag Solo can be fast charged using the 1.5Amp type C charge port and cable.

However, I like to charge my batteries with an external charger, swapping them as needed

  • 5 clicks of the fire button, will turn the device on and off

When you first turn on the device you will see the start-up screen which includes design info and firmware version!

Settings

  • Use the adjustment bar to set your wattage
  • Press the fire button 3 times to completely lock the device
  • Disabling just the adjustment buttons – press both adjustment buttons together, and you will still be able to fire the mod
  • Clear Puff Count – by pressing the fire and down buttons
  • Press the fire button and the up button to switch between the mod screens 5 themed colours (Green, Yellow, Blue, Red and White)

This mod will fire between 5 and 100W.

The Mag Solo will auto-detect your atomiser and preset the wattage to match the coil resistance!

  • Smok has included 6 protection functions such as Overheat protection, 8-second toot count and short circuit protection

How Does The Smok Mag Solo Perform?

I am very impressed by the elegance of this mod! To me, it’s almost a work of art and is well worth the price tag!

The Mag Solo has functioned well in the last few weeks I have been testing it.

It fires fast and is very comfortable in my hand!

Batteries

Using a 21700 battery in the mod is a no-brainer – it gave me almost a full day of vaping.

With a 18650 battery on the other hand, it lasted me a bit less than 3hrs. This of course is down to my vaping style!

T-Air Sub Ohm Tank

I have obtained a reasonable quality of cool vapour from this tank.

With the 0.4Ω coil installed, it has lasted me two weeks of daily vaping with a wattage range between 45-35W.

Of course, I have used the Mag Solo with other atomisers, like my Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA.

With this atomiser, I was able to test out chain vaping and the higher wattage capabilities of the Mag Solo.

Test Results

After a rapid chain vaping session, roughly for 5 minutes at 70W, the overheat protection kicked in, and the mod wouldn’t function until it cooled down!

I was able to hit the full 100W for a very hot flavoursome vape.

Pros

  • Excellent Quality and Design
  • Fast firing
  • Adequate vapour production at 45W with the T-Air Subtank
  • Very comfortable in the hand
  • 21700 compatible

Cons

To be honest I couldn’t find anything really I disliked about the Smok Mag Solo.

The T-Air Sub Ohm Tank while giving adequate vapour was a little too cool for me with the 0.4Ω coil!

Final Review Verdict

Smok has been upping their game just lately with their mods. As you will be able to see from my SMOK Morph 3 review, I thought it was excellent, and now with the new Mag Solo!

This is a sleek well-designed and beautifully presented device which has the look and feel of quality to it!

The device performed extremely well with all my tests and has now entered into my daily rotation.

I would be proud to replace the mod, should the unthinkable happen!

My recommendation for this kit is that it’s suitable for those with intermediate to higher experience!

My sample of the Morph 3 Kit was sent directly from Smok for review!

As always my thoughts and views are my own, after a considerable testing of the kit.

Smok Morph 3 Kit Design and Build Quality

For this review, I will only look at the Morph 3 device!

We do have a separate review for the T-Air Sub Ohm tank, please check it out.

Smok sent me the Cyan and Black design which has a gunmetal finish!

Included with my Morph 3 Kit

Is the standard size 5ml T-Air Subtank, x2 TA 0.4Ω coils, a spare 5ml glass, a few O-rings and a type C cable!

Smok Morph 3 Battery Case

This device has a boxy look to it! The mod in my opinion has a rugged but pleasingly sleek look to the eye.

The device material includes – a Zinc Alloy Chassis, Faux Leather and Smoked Plastic!

Measuring 46mm in width and 88mm in height, the device weighs in at 124g (without batteries). I can assure you while it’s a heavy mod it’s very comfortable to hold for long periods due to its leather padding.

The device is quick to fire and does so easily in either hand!

From the Top

The mod has a centre weighted 510 connection with threading that has been turned well. It has a spring-loaded, Gold-plated connection pin.

This device will take atomisers easily with a diameter of up to 33mm!

Leather Padding

A dual-coloured faux Leather padding has been added to the front, sides and most of the back, serving as a soft cushion in your hand.

The leather on mine has stitching separating the dual colours.

Back of the device

As you can see the back has a pattern cut into the metal chassis and it forms almost a bar effect. The metal has been embossed with “MORPH 3”, which has then been inlaid with a shiny foil!

The Workface

Incorporates a 0.96 inch colour TFT smoked plastic screen, that has been raised from the body. The screen is a little on the dark side and can’t be read well in direct sunlight.

As you would expect the screen shows all the normal expected information!

Action Buttons

The mod has a rocker-type adjustment button along with a 2 Amp USB Type C charge port on the workface.

On one side of the mod is a metal fire/action button, which does have a nice click when pressed!

Under the fire button, the Leather has been embossed with the advertising mark “Smok”.

Battery Housing

Operated by a simple pull-back switch, the door has been printed with all the normal information including design and safety info.

The door on mine feels a little loose when open, but with batteries in, it is stable with no battery rattle.

I did have to put quite a bit of pressure on the door to close it when I installed the batteries!

On the inside of the door has been printed with a White “+” and “–” serving as a battery orientation guide.

Battery Sled

Looking into the battery case, you will see a Blue minus and Red plus symbol and Gold-plated connection points.

The battery sled has been lined with plastic film to help avoid battery shorts!

The Smok Morph 3 has been designed well with great manufacturing quality, it’s sleek, rugged and well-formed.

It looks like it should cost more than the actual retail price!

Smok Morph 3 Quick Start Guide

Today I’m going to use the mod with its intended tank – the T-Air Sub Ohm tank. I have installed the 0.4Ω mesh coil that came with the kit.

And my liquid of choice is “Strawberry Yog” from E-Juice Warehouse.

Smok T-Air Sub Ohm Tank Prep

Please follow my guide for prepping the coil and filling the tank here.

Smok Morph 3 Mod – Basic Operation

  • Insert your two 18650 batteries – following the battery orientation guide printed on the inside of the door
  • The Morph 3 can be charged using the 2A type C charge port and cable. I like to charge my batteries on an external charger and leave the USB cable charging for emergency measures
  • 5 clicks of the fire button will turn the device on and off
  • Use the adjustment bar to set your wattage or temperature value

Menu settings

  • Press the fire button x3 to enter the menu settings
  • Use the adjustment bar to switch between – Power (VW)

And Temperature Control options (Ni, Ti and SS). Use the adjustment key to set the data adjustment for each wire setting

  • Resistance Range adjustment
  • Clear Puff Count via the menu or press the fire and down key
  • The fire button and up key to switch between the screen themes 5 colours (Green, Purple, Red, Blue and White)
  • Disabling the adjustment buttons – press both adjustment buttons together, you will however still be able to fire the mod

The output of this mod will vary depending on your mode and setting – firing between 5 and 230W in VW mode and up to 600f in TC mode.

BTW the Morph 3 will also auto-detect your atomiser and preset the wattage to that of your coil resistance!

How Does the Smok Morph 3 Perform?

Smok has said in the promotional literature that the chipset for this device has been updated – so far I am unable to find out further info on this!

However – it does have 8 protection modes available like low battery, short circuit and 8-second toot.

Vaping Action

Speaking purely as a standard TC/VW device, the Morph 3 has been golden for me in the few weeks I have been using it is fast to fire and comfortable in my hand. Whilst on the heavy side (not everyone’s cup of tea) I found it a pleasure to use!

T-Air Sub Ohm Tank

I have obtained a reasonable quality of cool vapour from this tank, the 0.4Ω coil that came with the kit has lasted me two weeks of constant use at 45/35W.

Of course, I have used the Morph 3 using other atomisers, my Hellvape Dead Rabbit 3 RTA at 75W and my Hellvape Dead Rabbit Pro RDA up to 100W.

With both these atomisers, I was able to test out the chain vaping capabilities of the Morph 3 – which I have to say was rather good!

Temp Control

While I don’t use temp control in my normal day-to-day vaping these days, I tested the TC functions using a pair of DIY 0.15Ω Stainless Steel flat wire coils.

I Set the Morph 3 for SS at 420f and 60W, the device functioned faultlessly with warm and tasty vapour!

Pros

  • Very good quality and design
  • Fast firing
  • Adequate vapour production at 45W with the T-Air Subtank
  • Comfortable in the hand
  • Long dual battery life

Cons

  • The weight of the mod might be a concern for some
  • Closing the door with batteries installed needed pressure

Final Review Verdict

Now I don’t say this often about Smok products, but this is a sleek well-designed mod that has the look and feel of quality to it!

The device performed admirably with all my tests.

Taking into account the size and weight of the Morph 3, I would recommend this kit to those that like a heavy device with intermediate or higher experience.

The Smok Nord C is the newest member of the popular “Nord” family.

smok nord c banner

I know this might seem like a late preview – but this device is only just showing up on the UK version of the Smok website. For some reason our version is way behind what the rest of the world sees!

The Nord range have been pretty prolific and I have lost count of how many devices there are. But just a few examples include the original Nord, Nord 2, Nord X and the most recent Nord 5.

Today I will be looking at a new tank from Smok – the Smok T-Air SubTank.

The T-Air Tank is a standard sub-ohm stock coil tank!

Comparing it to some of Smok’s other tank ranges it is completely leak free and has top honeycomb airflow and comes with a new set of stock coils.

Smoktech is part of Shenzhen IVPS Technology, better known as “Smok”. They are a China-based e-cigarette designer/manufacturer that over the years has brought us a very impressive range of kits and atomisers!

I remember my first Smok TFV tank it was called the TFV4 Micro Tank it was released with the R80 kit. After that things sort of snowballed and Smok mostly named their successive TFV tanks by number right up to TFV18XL which I showcased with the Smok Mag-18 230W kit and the TFV18 Mini with the Smok G-Priv 4 kit.

What to Expect From the Smok T-Air SubTank?

Smok has released this tank in 13 colours, with glass sizes 5ml and 2ml – Matte Black Plating, Stainless Steel, Gun Metal, Gold, Red, 7-colour, Blue, Blue Haze, Purple Haze, Pale Green, Cyan, Pale Pink and Pale Blue..

smok t-air subtank colours

The T-Air sub ohm tank comes in two sizes 5ml (standard) is 32×51.7mm and 2ml (TPD) is 26.6×51.7.

t-air filling

It heralds a top honeycomb airflow and a ¼ turn fill cap.

It takes advantage of a new set of “plug n play” stock coils – 0.2ohm 2in1 mesh, 0.4ohm mesh and 0.15ohm dual mesh coil.

t-air coils

This sample of the T-Air sub ohm tank was sent as part of the Morph 3 Kit, from Smok!

As always my thoughts and views are my own, after a considerable testing period.

Kit Contents

  • Smok T-Air SubTank
  • 2x TA 0.4Ω mesh coils
  • Spare glass
  • O-rings baggy
  • User manual

Specifications

  • Size: 32×51.7mm (5ml) / 26.6×51.7mm (2ml)
  • Capacity: 5ml (standard) / 2ml (TPD)
  • Coil: TA Series coils
  • Quarter turn top fill cap
  • Top adjustable dual honeycomb inlet airflow
  • Replaceable 810 drip tip

Smok T-Air SubTank Design and Build Quality

Before I start this review in earnest, this tank came to me as part of the Morph 3 kit and as this is such a new tank to market we thought our readers would appreciate a standalone review for it!

Included with my tank were x2 TA 0.4Ω coils, a spare 5ml glass, and a few O-rings!

The construction materials for this tank include – Stainless Steel, Pyrex Glass and Delrin. I would say that the overall construction quality and design for this tank have been executed well!

t-air subtank components

The T-Air SubTank dismantles into 7 parts.

Starting at the top

The new T-Air SubTank has an 810 Delrin mouthpiece.

Fill cap

The removable stainless steel fill cap has a ¼ turn, which makes it very easy to fill the tank. The cap has an embedded O-ring to stabilise the mouthpiece and has a corrugated pattern around the edge to help with removal.

Main tank section

The main tank section is one piece.

It incorporates the fill ports which include 2 slots and an embedded Silicon stopper for leak protection, airflow and space for the coil.

Moving down

You will see the removable top airflow ring has 16 honeycombed holes on each side of the ring. Under this ring, you will note two standard wide airflow slots and a thin O-ring.

Thicker O-rings are placed above the internal airflow and at the base for the glass to sit on. Each side is printed with “T-Air” and the internal AF runs down each side of this main section!

Looking into the bottom of this section you will see 2 long but thin internal airflow slots and the space for a coil.

The “plug-n-play” coil is pushed into this space and then covered by screwing the 510 connection cup in place!

Connection Base Cup

Printed in white on the bottom of the cup is all the standard design and safety info.

The 510 connection threading has been turned well, and while the Gold-Plated pin is not adjustable it does protrude a little!

Looking into the connection cup you will see the reverse side of the connection pin which has been flattened and includes 2 projections that contact the base of the coil.

The outside of the base cup has the same corrugated pattern as the ¼ turn fill cap.

Pyrex Glass Tank

When the 510 connection cup is removed you can slide off and change the Pyrex glass tank!

My standard version of the tank came with a 5ml bubble glass installed and a spare 5ml bubble glass in the box. The TPD version of this tank will have a 2ml glass installed.

Stock Coils

The T-Air SubTank is compatible with the new TA series coils, mine came with:

  • 2x TA 0.4Ω mesh coils, 20 to 45W (best at 40W)

The other coils available (for separate purchase) in this range are:

  • TA 0.2Ω 2in1 mesh, 50 to 70W (best at 65W)
  • TA 0.15Ω dual mesh, 40 to 60W (best at 55W)

Airflow

Rather like most of the Smok TFV atomisers, with the top airflow in the fully open position, the T-air tank can be a very airy draw!

Smok T-Air SubTank Quick Start Guide

Today I’m going to use this tank on the Smok Morph 3 device, installed with one of the two 0.4Ω mesh coils.

My liquid of choice this time is Strawberry Yog from E-Juice Warehouse.

Smok T-Air SubTank Prep

Install one of the coils that came with the tank

  • Unscrew the base connection cap
  • Prime your coil with a few drops of e-liquid on all visible cotton
  • Push the coil into the tank and replace the connection base cup
  • Remove the ¼ turn top cap and fill the T-Air tank with e-liquid
  • Replace the cap and screw the tank onto a suitable device, don’t fire the device for around 5 minutes so the coil can soak up more liquid!

How Does the Smok T-Air SubTank Perform?

Curiously this 0.4Ω mesh coil is rated at 20 to 45W!

At first, I felt that for a Smok tank, this was quite a low wattage, considering the Morph 3 device it came with can fire up to 230W!

Flavour/Vapour

I started at 25W for a few toots with the airflow almost closed just to bed the coil in, I then took the wattage to 45W in 1W increments with the airflow to about a ¼ open. I felt this gave me an adequate amount of clouds.

With this wattage the vape was on the cool side, the flavour was fairly good. I could taste the Strawberry quite strongly!

The 0.4Ω coil has lasted me nearly two weeks.

At present, I am halfway through the second week. Whilst the vape production is still good, I have however had to drop back the wattage to 35W as the flavour seemed to peter out somewhat. This tells me that I will soon need to change the stock coil!

Airflow

The draw I have been getting from this tank is fairly smooth, although I will admit that when the airflow is opened to its fullest, it is a very airy draw.

I personally like a little restriction to my draw so have been setting the AF ring to a ¼ open.

Liquid Consumption

Like most Smok Tanks this one does plough through E-liquid at a fair clip, and can devastate a full 100ml bottle in a couple of days of constant use!

Testing

The coils supplied with my tank are more for conventional vaping 1 puff at a time. They don’t do well with chain vaping, although I expect the other coils in the range will do better.

In addition to testing the T-Air on its intended device the Smok Morph 3, I have used it on my Geekvape L200 Classic, and my Ehpro Cold Steel 100.

Pros

  • Good quality and design
  • Tasty flavour
  • Adequate vapour production at 45W
  • Honeycombed airflow
  • New range of coils

Cons

The only thing I picked up with my tank was the supplied coils being 45W maximum wattage, which I felt was a bit low for the device it came with!

Final Review Verdict

A nice looking tank that fulfils being a mid to low wattage Sub Ohm tank.

As I’ve said in the past I’m not one for stock tanks however the Smok T-Air SubTank functions as described in the promotional literature.

This tank was created for all levels of vapers.

Truth be told, I didn’t find anything majorly wrong with this tank. I might have bought this one to use as an out-and-about tank, but already having many similar tanks, I can’t see myself replacing it should the unthinkable happen!
