These have been created to partner with the popular OXVA Xlim range of pod kits – but of course it would be compatible with other MTL (Mouth To Lung) low power pod and starter kits!

Of course my experience and taste preferences will be different to yours, so please take my findings as just a guide. Also the device, coil resistance and power level will all impact flavour.

What Can We Expect From The OXVA OX Passion E-liquid?

There is a large number of flavours to choose from and they come in TPD Compliant 10ml bottles with 10mg or 20mg Nicotine Salt strengths.

UPDATE: We have received 10 new flavours as of October 2025. Same quality, slightly different packaging design. Full thoughts on these new flavours below.

The brand have made sure all the ingredients and processes meet the required standards such as CNAS, ISO 9001, HACCP, GMP Certified and ilac-MRA.

OXVA kindly sent me a beautiful selection box with all 20 flavours in 10mg nicotine strength!

The lid of the box opens to reveal the beautiful range of e-liquids.

On the rear of the lid are all the flavours and their profiles.

The e-liquid mix ratio is 50%PG / 50%VG which is more suitable for low power pens, pods and starter kits. This mix is too thin for higher power kits and may cause leaks and spitting.

I will be using my OXVA Xlim Pro 2 and Xlim Go kits for these with a new V3 0.8ohm pod for each flavour.

Packaging

These come within a box which has quite a busy design!

The “OX Passion” branding is in a sparkly Silver finish with an image of the bottle next to it.

The front of the box clearly displays the flavour, nicotine strength and volume.

On the side of the box is a flavour explanation panel rating the Throat Hit, Coolness, Sweetness and Flavour Strength.

Below that it shows the VG/PG ratio and a shiny panel denotes that the range is designed for the Xlim range of kits.

You will also find an authenticity checker panel which you scratch off. You then enter the 14 digit code that is revealed into the verification page on the OXVA website.

I am always pleased to see measures to check authenticity along with the panel on the base of the box which displays the batch number and expiry date.

The rear of the box displays all of the relevant warnings, storage instructions and legal logos.

Inside the box the bottle is wrapped in a sealed plastic bag. This helps to make sure the contents have not been tampered with and also provides a protection in case of any leaks. Sadly this does add to the waste footprint of the packaging.

An instruction leaflet is provided which gives filling instructions and all the required warnings.

The bottle has a tamper proof lid which for me was quite hard to remove and I had to resort to using my teeth. But I do have dodgy hands and poor grip so you might not experience this.

Some of the caps have a coloured underlay which I think is a very cute touch!

All the information found on the box is also present on the bottle labels. Sadly due to the huge amount of info required legally – the text is quite small!

A long thin nozzle means this should be compatible with most kits as it should fit the smallest of fill ports easily.

Flavours

Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream

Wow, this one really stunned me with the quality of the blending on display!

Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream really sung in my OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA, I felt the temperature controlled vape definitely brought out the best in this blend, elevating the creamy vanilla notes to perfection.

But it doesn’t just deliver a delicious vape in that pod system, but a couple of others that I tried out too.

What I get here is a very authentic strawberry ice cream blend, with some delicious fresh tasting strawberry that gives way to a thick and creamy vanilla note that has a lovely, subtle chill to it.

OXVA have really shown their expertise when it comes to blending with this e-liquid, and I think that this is one e-liquid I am going to have to keep in my permanent rotation!

Blackcurrant Rebena

Oh man, did I ever love this one!

I half expected a sharp, artificial tasting blackcurrant squash blend to begin with, given the name of this e-liquid, but there’s much more depth and quality on display here.

I felt that this was more like a blackcurrant juice, rather than a strong squash flavour, as there was a lot of authentic tasting blackcurrant present and this isn’t an overly sweet vape either.

Rather, it lets the natural blackcurrant flavourings do the talking. Really delicious and moreish stuff, which I’ve found to be a rarity when it comes to blackcurrant e-liquids! I absolutely would buy this one again.

Citrus Mango Guava

Whilst vaping this I couldn’t help but note the heavy citrus note throughout, it’s quite a sharp, orangey flavour that is very prominent right from the start of the inhale.

Guava blends in quite well with this, adding an exotic vibe to the blend, but I couldn’t really pick up on the mango note very much apart from a very slight hint of it in the background.

I think what let this one down slightly for me was that it is very sweet, in fact it is overly sweet for my palate, and that there is a very sharp aftertaste from the citrus that I didn’t get on with.

That being said, if you like sharp, sweet citrusy flavour blends, you’ll really enjoy this one!

Melon Berries

At first, I dreaded this being a watermelon and berry blend, not being a watermelon fan and all…

Though as soon as I started to vape it, I had a sense of relief as the melon is a honeydew melon flavouring- which is something I absolutely love and don’t see too much of these days!

Now the mixed berry flavouring does wash in and take over from the honeydew melon quite quickly, only giving me a fleeting taste of the honeydew melon.

It is a delicious vape but I just wish the honeydew melon was a bit stronger so that I could enjoy it for longer!

Blue Bubble

I wasn’t a particularly big fan of this blend if I am honest. This is more for the vapers that enjoy a very sugary sweet vape.

As that is what you get here, it is sugary sweet all the way through! It starts off with a candied blueberry flavouring, before a thick and sticky bubblegum note comes in. And of course, this is backed up with a lot of sweetener.

Not only is it sugary sweet but it is synthetic tasting, quite noticeably so too, but that is what you get with a blueberry bubblegum blend so it wasn’t entirely unexpected!

Pina Colada

Yes, I do love a pina colada!

And OXVA’s OX Passion version is one of the best that I have tried out when it comes to pina colada flavoured e-liquids.

This has quite a strong, milky coconut note to it, that washes over my tastebuds from start to finish.

The pineapple is quite evident here too and goes really well with the milky coconut note without overpowering it.

It definitely reminded me of the cocktail whilst vaping away on this blend!

Pink Guava

So, this is a new one on me, I don’t think I have ever knowingly vaped a pink guava e-liquid before, to be honest before this I didn’t even know a pink guava fruit existed!

I half expected it to be some sort of pink lemonade guava or raspberry guava hybrid!

It’s quite an interesting flavour to vape, and it was a grower on me. The blend has a bit of a floral note, which was unexpected, and there’s the recognisable taste of guava but a lot sweeter than what I have previously been used to.

Definitely a summery vape this one!

Melon Banana

I had a bit of trepidation around this one initially as I really hoped it wasn’t a blend of watermelon and foam sweet banana- my two least favourite flavours in e-liquid form!

Thankfully, the melon flavouring was a rich, strong and delicious tasting honeydew melon that had a very refreshing juicy note to it.

Banana is more of a background note, and thankfully the banana flavouring here is more of a realistic one than a banana foam sweet, so this adds more richness and a creamy undertone.

I actually really enjoyed this one!

Pink Lemon Bubbly

Pink Lemon Bubbly is OXVA’s take on the classic pink lemonade, and they’ve done a good job of it!

Pink Lemonade definitely isn’t one of my favourite blends to vape, mainly due to the sweetness and sharpness of a lot of them, but thankfully OXVA’s version is neither too sweet nor too sharp for me.

Rather, OXVA strike a good balance here. The raspberry is quite subtle, and the citrus lemonade is very well done and authentic tasting.

Yes, there’s even a bit of fizz to it too, just to add to the authenticity!

Strawberry Raspberry Mojito

Well, this is certainly a fresh and interesting blend, and I was keen to see whether OXVA could strike a good balance with the flavours here!

On the inhale, I got a good blend of the strawberry and raspberry flavours, with a nice blend of sweet and sour notes.

Then a crisp and cool mint flavouring blows in, with what almost tastes like sugar syrup underpinning it- just like what you would expect from a Mojito cocktail.

Delicious, refreshing and a true taste of summer that can definitely be enjoyed all year round!

Paradise Punch

I Say…

Well the flavour description is less than enlightening so I will try and describe the flavours that appear!

Well there is a ruck of Mango for a start. It is quite a dry sensation – the reason I dislike Mango vapes so much!

However a blast of Pineapple just saves this from becoming too earthy and sucking away all the moisture from my mouth like a sponge.

I can also detect a slightly soapy tinge – which may be Kiwi or Lychee.

I just did a search online and there is a family of fruits called the “Soapberry” family – which includes – yes you guessed it – Lychee!

This really is not something I would choose to vape. But a Mango or Pineapple fan I am sure will love it!

Cherry Fizz

“Combination of sweet Black Cherries with added fizz to have you wanting more”

I Say…

This is flipping gorgeous!

I am partial to a good Cherry e-liquid and this right here fits the bill perfectly!

This is not a synthetic style Cherry but a real deep flavour with almost Blackcurrant vibes!

There is a slight fizz but I have tried e-liquids in the past which have managed to replicate a fizz much better. I would like the fizzy aspect to be enhanced some more really.

Thankfully there is only a small amount of cooling which works perfectly and stops the flavour becoming too heavy and syrupy.

This will appeal to those who like sweet but realistic fruit flavours. It manages to stay away from the usual synthetic perfumey Cherry you often find in disposable vapes.

I love it! It would get 10/10 if the fizz was ramped up a bit. Even so it is a beauty!

Lemon Lime

OX Passion Says…

“A fresh blend of Lemon and zesty Limes to complete this refreshing Lemonade”

I Say…

As you would expect this has quite a bit more cooling – which suits this flavour perfectly.

It reminds me of Opal fruits / Starburst – if you eat the Green and Yellow ones (Lemon and Lime) at the same time!

It starts off as quite a candied / synthetic flavour but then transforms into something more tangy and realistic.

However for me this does leave a slightly sour aftertaste which is not Lemon or Lemonade – which is a shame. It actually reminds me of Honey and Lemon Lockets (Cough Sweets).

Being of the more “Sweet Tooth” persuasion this sourness is not something I enjoy. But if you are into the tangy side of things this will please you!

I enjoyed vaping this e-liquid but the aftertaste was very off-putting.

Blue Citrus

“A fruity and tangy twist of Blue Raspberry and Lemonade Juice”

I Say…

The description tells me to expect a Blue Razz Lemonade type flavour.

And that is exactly what you get – epic!

This is an absolute stunner of an e-liquid!

The Blue Raspberry is sweet and syrupy without being synthetic or artificial. It is so well rounded and deep in flavour.

You get the yummy Lemonade tang and surprisingly a little fizz sensation too!

The cooling is quite restrained and just adds to the freshness to counteract the syrupy Blue Razz.

I could vape this all day long – perfect.

It should keep those wanting authentic fruits and those who enjoy a more candied version happy. It covers both bases!

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry

“Perfect blend of tangy Strawberry, juicy Cherry and fresh Raspberry”

I Say…

Am looking forward to this – 3 of my favourites in 1 e-liquid!

Yay – I am happy with this one!

There is no dominant flavour – these all merge into a really harmonious symphony which is greater than the sum of its parts!

You know all the fruits are there as you can pick up aspects of each but together they are amazing.

Again this is a very sweet and syrupy style e-liquid but the fruits do taste realistic – just boosted with a Jam like vibe.

The coolness seems very subtle with this one, but it is there to balance out the sweetness and works a treat!

Perfect 10/10 material this!

Blue Mist

“This is a mystical pairing of Blueberries and secret berries”

I Say…

Ooooh a surprise – “Secret Berries” indeed!

To me this is predominantly Blueberry – I do not get a hint of anything else?

It is quite the generic Blueberry but has been created well to prevent that synthetic perfumey edge that some Blueberry flavours accumulate.

Again another sweet and syrupy offering but there is a bit more tartness in here than with others in the range. There is a beautiful fruity aftertaste on the tongue too.

Coolness wise this is neither too strong or too weak, it fits the flavour spot on.

Any Blueberry fans will love this and those who like the disposable artificial style will find this version way more tasty!

It has only dropped a mark for there being no trace of the “secret berries”.

Pina Daiquiri

“A tropical fruity Daiquiri with a sweet and tangy Pineapple hit. Finished with a layer of Passionfruit”

I Say…

As the name suggests this is based on the Daiquiri cocktail which usually consists of Rum, Citrus Juice and sweetener.

This is gorgeous! The beautiful sweet Pineapple takes centre stage. It is incredibly sweet but does not veer off into artificial territory. Like the Pineapple Freeze further down this review, the Pineapple is just like a syrup surrounding beautiful fresh Pineapple slices.

As someone who is weirdly allergic to Pineapple in real life, it is a joy to be able to get the best of the flavour without coming out in rashes!

The Passionfruit is more of a backing singer in this particular ensemble which prevents things getting sickly sweet and bringing a slight tartness.

Cooling wise this is perfectly judged, just enough for freshness without freezing your lungs.

What an excellent bit of blending – 10/10 for sure!

Triple Mango

I Say…

I have been dreading this as I really do not like Mango flavoured e-liquids!

The first thing I notice is a really cold chill as you inhale – thankfully that helps to make the Mango feel more refreshing. Some Mango e-liquids feel dry and earthy to me – but the cooling here really lifts it.

Then you get the Mango kick in, it is quite sweet and syrupy but for a brief second you do get a big tangy note too.

So this has covered all bases for Mango lovers! If you like sweet or tangy Mango you should be happy!

Berry Lemon

“A clearly layered flavour rises when fresh Red Strawberries meet sweet Watermelon”

I Say…

I think there is an error on the box! This is the same flavour description as the flavour below which is actually Strawberry Melon – oops!

Whatever the flavour profile is – it is yummy!

It is mainly a Blueberry / Blackcurrant flavour which feels Jammy and luscious with a really deep flavour. It is sweet but still keeps the character of the berries.

And of course there is an icy wave which follows the flavour. A very slight hint of Lemonade appears on your palate when exhaling.

I personally would prefer the ice to be toned down a bit. I am just enjoying this when the cooling comes along and sort of wipes away the flavour. Might just be my preference though!

Strawberry Melon

I Say…

I really am not a Watermelon vape fan sadly – which means this e-liquid has a lot of hard work to do to convince me otherwise!

Thankfully the Strawberry is there to take the edge off the very strong earthy Watermelon. Neither flavour is dominant but there is still too much Watermelon for my liking – I would prefer this to just be Strawberry!

There is quite a hit of ice on the inhale and the sweet but genuine style Strawberry kicks in first. As the vapour exits your mouth then the Watermelon kicks in. But it really is harmonious even for someone who hates one of the ingredients.

You do get quite a lot of sweetness but there is the earthy Watermelon to keep it from becoming sickly.

It is a no from me – but Watermelon fans should love it!

I did drop one point in the ratings for the cooling leaving an uncomfortable feeling in my chest after about 10 vapes. This might be me being a wuss with the ice though!

Cherry Peach Lemon

Well the description lists flavours that I enjoy so let’s hope this one delivers!

Wow what a beautiful blend this is! It is very unusual as I have not seen this combination before!

At first you get a delicious authentic sweet Cherry flavour which then morphs into something almost creamy as the Peach kicks in.

The Lemonade is the backnote with a slight tangy spike which rounds this whole blend off perfectly.

I absolutely love it. What a harmony of delicious fruity flavours.

You get sweet, sour, tangy and even creamy. A very light touch of cooling is the perfect addition.

This is a 10/10 for me for sure!

Mixed Grapes

“A perfect balance of juicy Purple Grapes, wild White Grapes and Green Grapes blended to perfection”

I Say…

I always dread Grape e-liquid as it is a flavour that few brands can pull off.

Thankfully the OX Passion version has a slightly different take on it by blending Purple, White and Green grapes.

It does taste quite synthetic and perfumey – which is in contrast to the realistic fruits present in the rest of the range.

A medium level of cooling is present which works well and doesn’t overpower the experience.

It is OK but is only likely to please those who enjoy the synthetic candied fruit flavours found in disposable vapes. Those wanting a realistic representation of the fruit might be a bit disappointed.

So have had to drop a few marks for the rating on this one.

Blueberry Pom

“Ultimate pairing of sweet Blueberry and fresh Pomegranate creating the ultimate taste”

I Say…

The Blueberry is the dominant flavour here with a Grape like backnote which must be the Pomegranate. Sadly I have never eaten a Pomegranate so I assume it is Grapey?

This has a very well rounded flavour and a depth of sweetness and tartness like you would get from a real fruit.

Personally I am not a fan of the backnote flavour but it does blend very well with the Blueberry.

Quite sharp cooling here but it does suit the flavour and stops it becoming too syrupy.

Not really a flavour I would buy but very decent nonetheless!

Blue Razz Gummy Bear

I Say…

Blue Razz flavours are always up my street but will the OX Passion version make me smile?

As the name suggests this combines the familiar Blue Razz flavour with the addition of a Gummy (jelly) sweet.

This works quite well!

The Blue Razz is quiet fragrant and possibly a bit synthetic to start with but as the vapour travels across your tastebuds it becomes more rounded and fruit like.

There is the slight tang you would expect from a Gummy Sweet and it makes you want to chew!

So just be patient, if you dislike the initial flavour just wait as it transforms into something sweet and fruity yet with a realistic Blue Raspberry backnote.

Thankfully the ferocious cooling has been toned down for this flavour – it is still present but at level which enhances the flavour.

A lovely rendition this!

Berries Burst

OX Passion Says…

“A combination of sweet hand-picked forest berries to sweeten the palate”

I Say…

The description does not elaborate on which berry flavours to expect. Raspberries, Red Currants, Blackcurrants, Blueberries and Blackberries seem to be the most common Forest Berries. Which are all flavours I love – so this bodes well!

It is packed with the Red and Black fruits and is totally delicious. There are plenty of sweet notes backed up by slight tangs. It feels slightly artificial on the inhale but as you exhale there is more body to the fruits and the depth increases.

I will say that the Blueberry seems particularly dominant but you can tell there are other fruits there too. If you are not a Blueberry or Blue Raspberry fan you would do well to swerve this one.

A slight amount of cooling stops this becoming too sweet or earthy just at the right time.

A gorgeous mix of dark fruits but the dominant Blueberry might not be to everyone’s liking.

Bru Pop

OX Passion Says…

“The classic Bru flavour with sparkling fizz. Unique and original”

I Say…

If you read between the lines this flavour is based on the popular Irn Bru drink.

If you have not tried this particular beverage it is very hard to describe!

It is a carbonated drink which has Orange and Bubblegum elements with a Cream Soda style backnote.

As with some of the other flavours the cooling takes centre stage, battering your throat on the inhale.

This definitely delivers on the Orange. It is a mix of an undiluted Orange Cordial / Squash and a fresh Orange. You can almost feel the Orange fibres on your tongue and it starts off quite sour!

It then evolves into a sweeter note as you exhale.

I genuinely can’t remember what Irn Bru tastes like – it has been so long since I had some, but this e-liquid seems to focus on the Orange and less on the Bubblegum and Cream Soda elements.

Really I would market this as being “Fizzy Orange” or “Orangeade” as that is genuinely how it tastes.

Ideal for Orange fans, perhaps not the authentic Irn Bru flavour some might be expecting.

I have dropped a couple of marks in the ratings as it does not live up to expectation but it is delicious in a very Orangey way!

Senorita

OX Passion Says…

“Step into this romantic mystery and pleasing flavour to complete your taste”

I Say…

OK so the description is a bit of a word salad – no idea what to expect here!

Firstly this is very cold quite a lot of cooling here.

Then it becomes a Pineapple and citrus medley. The Pineapple is the most prominent followed by a sweet Orange and sour Lemon which kick in after.

This is a very refreshing tropical blend and the cooling although quite strong works great with the citrus.

It tastes like authentic fruits and still has the sweet and sour notes which are complimented by the ice! Great stuff!

Blue Sour Razz

OX Passion Says…

“A delicious and refreshing combination between the sweet Blueberries and Raspberries with a pungent and sour twist”

I Say…

I am not sure using the word “Pungent” in the description makes this sound particularly appetising?

The description made me think I would not enjoy this one at all!

But I am super pleased to report it is yummy!

The sourness is not as “Pungent” as I was expecting. In fact this e-liquid is quite sweet – it is only slightly less sweet than the rest of the range.

I would not describe this as sour by any means – so if you were after a tang that sucks your pants up your bum and makes you pull a face – then you will be disappointed.

The Blueberry and Raspberry blend perfectly and give a deep rounded flavour. Which like some others in the range has a syrupy mouthfeel.

A cool breeze keeps this from becoming sickly.

I personally would give this 10/10 as I have a very sweet tooth. But I will have to drop marks as those looking for a “sour” e-liquid will not be impressed.

Mint Mix

OX Passion Says…

“Different kinds of fresh and clear mint mixed with a little ice”

I Say…

Whoa there – what a blast!!

The first thing you will notice is the ice cold gust of vapour hitting your mouth, tongue and throat! This is freezing and ferocious!

As your mouth components get over the initial cold shock you then get a lovely sweet minty flavour of Spearmint.

The mint reminds me of the Blue “Trebor Softmints” mixed with “Extra Strong Mints“!

So it has the sweet smooth Spearmint flavour which gradually evolves into a stronger fresh mint as you exhale.

For me the cooling is a bit too fierce but I am a wuss when it comes to “icy” e-liquids. If you want a huge hurricane of minty freshness then this flavour is the one for you!

Pineapple Freeze

OX Passion Says…

“Zesty taste of Fresh Pineapples matched perfectly with sweetness and ice”

I Say…

This is a very sweet rendition of Pineapple. It is more of a Pineapple Syrup.

Even though it is very sweet it is not at all synthetic! It tastes of proper Pineapple. Quite clever really!

It reminds me of the juice in a tin of Pineapple Slices in Syrup – it is absolutely delicious!

For those expecting a sweetie / candy style Pineapple – they will love the sweetness present. Those expecting a realistic Pineapple should also be reasonably happy as it is realistic too.

A slight blast of ice makes this even fresher. The ice works so well as the syrup could become too heavy without it.

OXVA OX Passion E-liquid Final Review Verdict

An excellent range here! This really delivers authentic but sweet fruity flavours.

Admittedly there were a couple of duff notes but in general I found this range to be up there with the best e-liquids I have tasted. I have to state I have an extremely sweet tooth though. If you are not of this persuasion you might be overwhelmed by the sweetness on offer here.

There is a lot of sweetness to keep the disposable vape fans happy, but there is plenty of realistic fruitiness to keep the realists happy too.

My favourites were Blue Citrus, Cherry Fizz, Cherry Peach Lemon, Blue Sour Razz and Strawberry Raspberry Cherry.

One thing I did note is that there was not much sourness to these liquids – even those which state “sour” in the title – such as the Blue Sour Razz.  So fans of Tang might want to swerve this range.

On the side of the box the flavour properties chart lists a rating for “Coolness”. I did not find this to be that accurate. Some of the flavours I felt were very cool just had an average coolness rating?

Build Quality

OXVA have designed the SlimStick to be a discreet device that slips easily into your pocket or bag, and it is indeed a small form factor kit! It really is quite lovely to hold, and is roughly the same size as your average prefilled pod system.

Even though it is small, with dimensions of 90mm x 32mm x 14mm and a weight of only 58g, the robust aluminium alloy construction ensures that it stands up easily to knocks and the wear of day to day use.

The SlimStick kit actually comprises two parts. Not only do you have the SlimStick device, so the main battery, but you also have a SlimStick cartridge.

It is cigarette like in appearance, so just like cigalikes of old, but shorter and stumpier, with dimensions of 67mm x 9mm, connecting to the SlimStick device magnetically. Each one has the flavour and nicotine strength printed on it, and a different colour depending on which flavour SlimStick you have.

The SlimStick kits themselves are available in a range of six different colours, with Black, Pink, Blue, Gold, Purple and Gray versions.

They feature a minimalistic design, with the OXVA SlimStick logo slightly raised on the front of the device and a shiny metal finish at the top.

There are no screens or buttons, just a basic battery life indicator on one side and the Type-C charging port on the base.

Quick Start Guide

Using a SlimStick is as easy as it gets really!

Remove the protective silicon from your SlimStick cartridge and just drop it into the slot on the SlimStick. 

The device will vibrate to let you know that it has successfully connected.

After that, just draw on the SlimStick cartridge to fire it. Just be aware, you can’t vape the SlimStick cartridge like a cigalike outside of the SlimStick device, it needs to be inserted in the device to vape it.

On the side of the SlimStick device is a very simple LED battery light indicator, which glows green when there is more than 20% battery life remaining and red when it is less than 20%.

Charging

At the base of the SlimStick, you’ll find the Type-C charging port. Just plug in a Type-C charging cable and use a suitable power outlet.

Whilst charging, the battery life indicator will illuminate, and it will turn off when the SlimStick is fully charged.

Charging rate is 5V/1A, so you are looking at just under an hour for a full charge.

Flavours

For the SlimStick range of cartridges, OXVA have developed 11 flavours- all of which can be purchased in packs of two allowing you to continue using your SlimStick device and switch flavours in and out quickly and easily.

I was sent the full range of flavours alongside the SlimStick device!

I won’t go too deep into the flavours, as these have a cigalike simplicity to them and aren’t full of depth, but my brief thoughts are below…

Classic Tobacco

This isn’t a cigarette flavour, this is more of a lighter ‘true’ tobacco flavour with a slightly earthy background and a slightly sweet finish to it.

Even though it doesn’t replicate the taste of a cigarette exactly, I would say that smokers would quite enjoy this flavour and it could help them quit smoking.

I’m a tobacco fan myself and this one was my favourite out of the ones I tried!

Blueberry

This is a very nice, straightforward blueberry flavour.

It isn’t as artificial as I thought it would be, it tastes more like a blueberry jam type of flavour.

I was actually surprised by the level of sweetness in it, I wasn’t expecting it to be as sweet as it was that is for sure!

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry

Now this was one of my favourite flavour blends out of the lot!

Strawberry is the most noticeable and dominant flavour here, and it is backed up with notes of raspberry and cherry flavouring.

Really nicely done, and surprisingly strong flavoured for a cigalike type cartridge!

Lemon Lime

Again, another strong flavoured and robust one here!

I was reminded of a lemon and lime ice lolly when vaping this, it is quite sharp and sweet with a bit of a chill to it too.

Lychee Ice

OXVA have got the lychee flavouring absolutely spot on here, this tastes like a lychee drink, and that is only accented further by the subtle chill present.

This was so moreish that I vaped though it in less than a day, definitely one that I would purchase again!

Mint

So, this mint flavour tasted like spearmint to me! It has got a pretty crisp note to it and a nice cooling sensation on the back of my throat, making it nice and easy going to vape on.

Pineapple

This one tastes much like pineapple juice, and it has that thick texture to it too! I particularly enjoyed the sweet and sour finish to it, which is a nice touch.

Pink Lemonade

Pink Lemonade has a strong citrusy lemonade note that dominates proceedings, with a hint of what tastes like raspberry in the background.

The finish is quite sweet, with some sourness thrown in, and if I close my eyes I can pick up on a slight fizz to it too!

Watermelon

Well, when I take this out of the package there is a real strong smell of artificial watermelon to it.

Taste-wise, it’s actually not all that bad, yes it is a candied watermelon flavour but OXVA have blended it well enough to be palatable to me!

Cola Ice

Alongside the Classic Tobacco, this is the blend I was looking forward to vaping the most!

OXVA have done an excellent job with this, considering the cigalike styled cartridge this delivers a lot of authentic cola flavouring!

The Ice element is well done and adds another layer of authenticity, there’s also a slight hint of fizz present too.

This would be another one I would happily re order and vape on all day!

Kiwi Passion Fruit

Well this one is dominated by the passionfruit flavouring, it is a passionfruit juice type of flavour and the kiwi lends some sourness to the exotic, fruity passionfruit.

I have got to say that all of the flavours in this range are absolutely solid, yes even the watermelon, and they are pretty strong too which is definitely unlike a cigalike!

How Does The OXVA SlimStick Perform?

What we have here with the SlimStick is a device that is set up almost perfectly to replicate the mouth to lung draw from a cigarette, featuring a fixed wattage output and fixed airflow.

When I say ‘almost perfectly’, it gets extremely close to the draw from a cigarette but the SlimStick is just ever so slightly looser. I have that on good authority from a friend of mine who still smokes and tried my SlimStick out!

Said friend actually went on and ordered a SlimStick after trying mine out recently, as they did say that they enjoyed the flavours and the draw, and at the time of writing they have just gone three days smokefree for the first time since they were a teenager!

Each of the SlimStick cartridges are prefilled with 2ml of e-liquid, which features 20mg nicotine salt. I couldn’t find out what the resistance of the coil is, but I’m guessing as it is a cigalike it will be fairly high.

The nicotine hit from a SlimStick is fast acting as a result, and the throat hit is minimal despite the high nicotine strength. Again, this is designed to replicate the nicotine hit that you would get from a puff on a cigarette.

One thing I will say is that there is no real way of knowing how much e-liquid is left inside the SlimStick cartridge. The flavour will drop off quite dramatically, and at that point you’ll want to switch the cartridge out for a new one before the dry hits come in!

Maybe some sort of temperature control technology could be useful with a SlimStick 2?

Battery Life

Battery life is pretty extensive with the SlimStick!

There’s a 1500mAh battery built into the device, and as there is a low fixed power output for a cigarette styled draw, there’s enough from a full charge to last a couple of days at least.

I vape quite heavily and have only had to charge the SlimStick every 2-3 days or so!

How Many Puffs Do You Get From An OXVA SlimStick Cartridge?

Each SlimStick cartridge is prefilled with 2ml of e-liquid, this definitely is not a ‘big puff’ kit!

The amount of puffs that you will get from each cartridge will depend on how frequently you puff away on it and how long you draw on the cartridge for.

Whilst using the Classic Tobacco SlimStick, I recorded 401 puffs. That is actually more than I would get from a standalone cigalike, some of which would struggle to get half of that!

Pros

• Excellent choice for someone who is giving up smoking
• Incredibly simple set up process
• Replicates a cigarette style draw
• Small form factor device
• Very discreet
• A lot of different flavour options
• Good battery life for this style of kit
• Reusable device, can purchase SlimStick replacement cartridges freely and easily

Cons

• SlimSticks only work when inside the SlimStick device
• Fixed power output and airflow
• Very basic battery life indicator
• Can’t tell how much e-liquid is left inside the SlimStick cartridge

Final Verdict

If you are switching over from cigarettes, then the OXVA SlimStick will be a fantastic option to consider. The draw is similar to that of a cigarette, and there are a lot of different flavour options to choose from including a tobacco one!

Users of Heat not Burn devices will also feel right at home with a SlimStick, as the form factor and the operation of the SlimStick is quite similar.

With the design and performance of the device, that does seem like the target market for the SlimStick. And the cost savings are quite incredible over cigarettes, heat not burn and disposable devices, as a new SlimStick device costs less than £10!

Refill packs are 2 for £4.99, so a few of these should see you through a whole week, and you can pick from eleven different flavours and even switch between flavours easily thanks to the cigalike style cartridge design.

For someone who is giving up smoking, and wants to replicate the draw of a cigarette, then I can’t recommend the SlimStick enough as there are very few devices out there that do it better!

Design & Build Quality

OXVA have constructed the XLIM GO 2 out of PCTG and IML, and it has dimensions of 117.4mm x 15mm x 26.4mm with a weight of just 45.9g, firmly putting it in lightweight pod kit territory!

There’s eight different styles to pick from, with Metal Silver, Metal Blue, Blue Ripple, Green Ripple, Pink Ripple, Light Brown Shadow, Black Shadow and Black Carbon available to pick from.

I was sent the Metal Blue and Light Brown Shadow versions for review, the Metal Blue version features an attractive wavy rippled metal-styled design that really shimmers in the sun, and the Light Brown Shadow just oozes class!

The lightweight design does give me some concerns around it standing up to heavy daily use, though during my testing it has stood up well so far and both versions that I was sent have remained relatively scratch free so far.

OXVA are well known for providing top build quality with their devices!

A very subtle battery life indicator lights up as you take a puff, and changes between three different colours depending on the remaining battery life. This is ringed with a starlight inspired design, which looks really attractive I must say.

The OXVA and XLIM GO 2 logos are laser printed onto each side of the device, there’s also a Type-C charging port on one side of the device and the airflow control system on the opposite side to this.

XLIM cartridges connect magnetically to the top of the device, though these can be wobbled quite easily with only a small amount of force applied.

These have a 3ml capacity in non-TPD markets (2ml for TPD regulated markets), are top filled and have a frosted transparent design which makes it easy to check how much e-liquid remains in the pod.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

No need to remove the pod in order to fill it here, the XLIM GO 2 has been designed so that you can access the filling port on the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge easily!

You just need to locate the silicone filling port cover on the side of the pod, pop it open, insert the bottle nozzle of your e-liquid bottle and fill it right up to the top.

If you are filling a fresh pod for the first time, let the e-liquid stand in the pod for 5 minutes to allow it to fully saturate the cotton in the coil, this will help to stop nasty dry hits and prolong the lifespan of your coil!

Sometimes the filling port cover can be a bit finicky, I had a couple of occasions where it seemed to push into the filling port hole requiring a bit of fiddling or some tweezers to tease it back out!

Operation

Operating the XLIM GO 2 is as easy as it gets, it has an auto draw system so once your pod has been filled, just take a puff on it to get it to fire.

On the front of the device is a battery indicator which lights up when you take a puff, and displays three different colours to indicate the current battery level-

• Green means there is 65-100% battery life remaining
• Blue is 30-65%
• Red is 0-30%

There is an airflow control system, and I will cover this in more detail further on in the review.

Charging

A Type-C charging port is located at the side of the XLIM GO 2, and to charge the device simply plug in a Type-C power cable and connect it to a suitable power source.

You get 5V/2A fast charging with this device which keeps the charging time to an absolute minimum! It can charge up to 80% in just 30% minutes, so if you need your device to charge quickly then the XLIM GO 2 is a great option.

How Does The OXVA XLIM GO 2 Perform?

The OXVA XLIM GO 2 has an output power range of 5-30W, however this is fixed and cannot be adjusted.

Output power is also determined by the resistance of the coil in the pod that you are using, so to take advantage of the maximum 30W output capability you do need to purchase the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill cartridge.

You get a 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge included in the box, which will pull around 16W. Though it does feel a touch more powerful than this in use!

Output power is quite consistent, and I only really noticed a drop off in the strength of the vape when the battery display was showing a red LED. Ramp up time is near instant as well, so it fires up as soon as you draw on the pod.

With the 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge, you can experience both MTL and RDL vaping as it caters to both draws.

Flavour

I’ve had quite a bit of experience with XLIM cartridges this year, and they are honestly up there as market leaders when it comes to flavour.

These truly excel with pretty much any type of e-liquid blend, delivering a smooth and flavoursome vape, that is phenomenally clean and pure tasting.

Here, you get a great introduction into what the XLIM cartridges are capable of, and the 0.8ohm cartridge provides an outstanding vape regardless of vaping style.

Wicking is outstanding as well, so you can chain vape away without worrying about a sneaky dry hit, the cotton in the coil can definitely keep up!

Pod Lifespan

With the included pod, I got just over a week and a half out of it before I needed to switch it out for a new one, which is in line with my experiences with XLIM Top Fill Cartridges this year.

I have had some last for two weeks or more, which is market leading!

The whole experience is leak free as well, with only a small amount of condensation build up which just needs to be wiped away from time to time.

Airflow

Airflow is controlled via a side airflow control system, and the airflow control itself is buttery smooth, easily adjusted and operated by using my thumb.

Primarily, this is a mouth to lung device, which is great for beginners, but it is also more than capable of delivering a restricted lung hit with the airflow fully open.

This isn’t a device that is designed for cloud chasing, though it is certainly capable of producing a pretty dense cloud!

Battery Life

Packed into this device is a 1500mAh high-density battery, which for a device of this size, is quite something!

That gives you enough power to vape through an entire day, and then some. I vape pretty frequently and the OXVA XLIM PRO 2 would last me into a second day.

I would imagine a beginner or average vaper would get even longer from this, potentially 2-3 days worth from a full charge.

Plus, the quick charge functionality is another bonus, as this charges up to 80% in just 30 minutes, and is fully charged in around 45 mins.

Pros

Final Verdict

Sometimes, simplicity can be best and OXVA show that with the XLIM GO 2, they are the masters of the simple, refillable pod vape!

You get to enjoy the excellent flavour and pod lifespan of the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges, as well as trying out both MTL and RDL vaping, in a simple and easy to use vaping package that you can simply fill up and puff away on.

And as it is compatible with the full XLIM cartridge range, there are a lot of different pod styles to try out as well. The pods last for ages compared to similar pods on the market, saving you money too.

Impressively, the large size of the battery eliminates battery anxiety, it charges up quickly and will easily last you at least a day, potentially even more depending on your vaping habits and the resistance of the pod that you are using.

The OXVA XLIM GO 2 serves as an excellent entry to the XLIM range at an extremely reasonable price, potentially providing a gateway to some of the more advanced XLIM devices such as the XLIM Pro 2 and the XLIM SQ Pro 2, but at the same time still providing the outstanding performance that the XLIM range is well known for!

With the NeXLIM GO, OXVA have designed a pod kit that is 23.5g lighter than the NeXLIM, weighing in at 64g. That makes it the lightest 1800mAh dual mesh pod system available!

But of course, size is nothing without performance! And thanks to OXVA’s Dual Mesh Technology, the NeXLIM GO won’t let you down here…

Performance is also driven by two output options, ensuring that restricted direct lung and mouth to lung vaping options are available, and you can change the output mode effortlessly at the flick of a switch.

Design & Build Quality

The OXVA NeXLIM GO is manufactured from polycarbonate and has dimensions of 119mm x 28.5mm x 18mm, it also weighs in at 87.5g including the NeXLIM Cartridge.

Even though this is the lightest 1800mAh Dual Mesh pod kit on the market, it is still quite tall and wide, it is quite a substantially larger footprint than my OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version for example!

Though when I hold this in hand, I realise just how surprisingly light this device is, making it a real delight to carry around with me. It is definitely a comfortable device to hold in hand and the finish has a comforting feel to it.

There are eight different colour options to choose from, with Starry Blue, Space Gray, Rose Pink, Sahara Brown, Silky Purple, Silky Coffee, Silky Black and Black Warrior finishes available.

On the front of the device is the tri-colour battery life indicator, with the OXVA logo at the base.

On one side of the device is the sliding airflow control, with the mode adjustment switch opposite to this and the Type-C USB charging port just underneath.

NeXLIM Cartridges connect magnetically to the device and are held firmly, with no discernible wobble. These cartridges feature a top filling system and have a 4ml capacity, though this is limited to 2ml in TPD regulated markets.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

Handily, there’s no need to remove the pod from the NeXLIM GO device in order to fill it!

Locate the silicon filling port cover on the side of the pod, pull this open, insert your e-liquid bottle and fill the pod right up before replacing the filling port cover.

After filling for the first time, leave the pod for 5-8 minutes before vaping to allow e-liquid to fully saturate the cotton, this will prolong the lifespan of your pod and help to avoid burnt hits.

Operation

This is an auto-draw system so once you have your pod filled you just take a puff to fire.

You can switch between Eco and Boost modes by flicking the switch on the opposite side to the airflow control.

A tri-colour battery life indicator displays the current battery level as a coloured LED, which is as follows-

• Green light= 65-100% battery life remaining
• Blue light= 30-65%
• Red light= 0-30%

An airflow control system is located on the side of the device and I will cover that in a bit more detail further on in the review.

Charging

A Type-C charging cable is required to charge the NeXLIM GO, with the Type-C charging port located underneath the mode adjustment switch.

How Does The OXVA NeXLIM GO Perform?

Output power with the OXVA NeXLIM GO is 5-40W, however you will need the 0.6ohm NeXLIM cartridge (sold separately) to experience the full 40W capabilities of this device.

The device will operate at maximum power from a fully charged battery, and steadily decrease in line with the remaining battery level. That being said, even when the battery indicator was displaying red, the vape still felt powerful enough to be satisfying!

With boost mode active, both mesh coils heat up at the same time, delivering a richer and more intense vape with larger cloud production. Eco mode uses each coil interchangeably, delivering a smoother and less intense experience, whilst maximising battery life.

A noticeable feature here is just how quickly the device heats up and fires, especially with boost mode active, OXVA state that the device activates in 0.01 seconds!

The 0.8ohm NeXLIM Cartridge is included in the box, catering to both MTL and RDL vapers, there is also the option of a 0.6ohm (RDL) or a 1.2ohm (MTL) cartridge available separately.

Flavour

Well, the flavour from the NeXLIM Cartridge really blew me away!

It is genuinely outstanding, the fast heat up time delivers the flavour notes from my e-liquids in no time at all, and it excels at delivering all the flavour notes from my juices!

It keeps up when chain vaping as well, with no dry hits experienced, so there’s some excellent wicking here.

I prefer a more intense and warmer vape, so I preferred to use boost mode. However, even in eco mode, I still get phenomenally rich flavour with a cooler vape, so I switched to this when I knew I wouldn’t be able to charge my device for a while!

Pod Lifespan

This is another outstanding aspect of the NeXLIM Go.

I’ve had this device for almost two weeks now, and the pod is only just starting to degrade in performance, putting this right up there with the best in terms of pod lifespan.

Airflow

Airflow can be controlled using the slider at the side of the device, and you can go from a tight mouth to lung all the way to an airy restricted lung vape.

When you close the airflow control right down, I notice that there is even a dedicated small mouth to lung airflow slot too, which is a nice touch for mouth to lung vaping.

The NeXLIM GO seriously delivers on the cloud front as well, especially with boost mode, this can produce some mightily impressive levels of vapour- I had to be careful vaping in the car!

Battery Life

Battery life is one of the biggest selling points of the NeXLIM GO, an 1800mAh battery is packed into the device which is one of the largest to be found on a pod kit.

By utilising eco mode, which lowers the power output to improve battery life, you can seriously get days of vaping from this device before it needs to be charged.

And thanks to the fast charging capabilities of this device, you haven’t got to wait around long for it to charge up either!

Final Verdict

OXVA have developed an entry-level pod system, accessible to anyone, that offers top of the range performance with the NeXLIM GO!

Seriously, this has some of the best flavour I’ve experienced from a pick up and play pod kit, with the dual mesh coil system in the NeXLIM cartridges delivering a wonderous, rich and full flavoured vape.

And it isn’t just the performance that has impressed me here, the battery life is quite exceptional for a pod system, eliminating battery anxiety when using the NeXLIM GO!

I had a quick look online to see what the NeXLIM GO would retail at in the UK, and most of the retailers that I checked out had this listed for less than £15, which is an absolute bargain for what you get with the NeXLIM GO in my opinion.

Plus, the pods just seem to go on and on as well, saving you money in the long run as you don’t need to change pods as frequently as you do with other devices.

If you are looking for an easy to use pod kit that delivers top of the range performance and has best in class battery life for a price that won’t break the bank, I can highly recommend the OXVA NeXLIM GO!

I’d not long finished my review of the OXVA XLIM SQ Pro 2 before the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version landed on my doorstep, OXVA definitely aren’t a brand that rest on their laurels!

OXVA are quickly becoming one of my favourite vaping brands, and they are a very highly regarded brand here on Ecigclick, as previous reviews on the OXVA NeXLIM, OXVA VPrime, OXVA XLIM Pro 2 and the OX Passion e-liquid range will attest to.

What Can We Expect From The OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version?

Two vaping giants in OXVA and EVOLV have partnered for the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version, which is the first pod system that features a DNA chip for dry hit prevention!

Having EVOLV provide a DNA chip for the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version is very big news, EVOLV have pioneered temperature control technology to prevent dry hits and their chips have been long regarded as the most accurate and reliable on the market.

And of course, OXVA are extremely well known for providing top quality vaping products, so an OXVA/EVOLV combination is going to be something absolutely special!

So, the OXVA x EVOLV DNA chip is a specially designed chipset for the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version that delivers precise temperature control and also includes Replay technology, for a smooth, intelligent and effortless vaping experience.

It is over 300 times more responsive than your everyday vaping chip, with a read speed of 30,000 times per second for precise dry hit prevention, flavour consistency and flavour replay.

Preventing dry hits increases the lifespan of pods drastically, as the majority of pod waste is caused due to burnt coils from dry hits, and the DNA chip on this device eliminates that- guaranteed until the final puff, even with low e-liquid!

Design & Build Quality

The OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version measures in at 114.5mm x 25mm x 15mm with a 67g weight, and is manufactured from either zinc alloy and carbon fibre or IML and PCTG depending on which version you opt for.

I received the fantastically-named Luminous Forged Carbon Fibre Daylight State edition for review and let me tell you- this is an absolute stunner!

Definitely one of the best looking and most well machined pod systems that I have had my hands on.

It feels so robust and well manufactured, yet the carbon fibre construction makes it feel lightweight at the same time too. Plus, in sunlight, parts of the finish become luminous, which is a nice touch.

On the rear you have ‘EVOLV DNA INSIDE’ printed just to remind you what is powering this beast! Opposite to this, the OXVA logo is printed.

There’s a glorious 0.56″ HD Colour screen which is bright and clear, this has an LED light bar that illuminates as you vape. The screen is activated when you click the power or replay button, it shows the coil resistance, battery life, wattage, lock status and a puff counter.

At the base is a USB-C charging port, meaning that you need to lay the device down in order to charge it.

As expected, the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges connect to the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version via a strong magnetic connection.

With the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version, the new XLIM Top Fill Cartridge SS pods are included in the kit, which feature stainless steel coils designed to be compatible with the temperature control functionality of the DNA chip.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge SS Pods

Thanks to the way that these pods have been designed, you don’t actually need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it.

Just locate the filling port cover on the side of the pod, lift this up to expose the filling port, pop the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle in and fill away!

When filling a new pod for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the pod for a few minutes to allow the cotton in the coil to fully absorb the e-liquid.

Operation

This is actually a very simple device to use and settings can be changed via some easy button clicks and combinations.

Holding the replay button down, and keeping it held down, will also display how to change the different settings on the screen!

This device has both auto draw and button activated fire modes, the button activated fire option can be easily locked however if you would prefer not to use that.

• Hold the replay and power button down for two seconds to turn the device on and off
• Five clicks of the power button will also turn the device off
• Hold the replay button down for two seconds to view the operations menu
• Two clicks of the power button changes the LED light colour
• Three clicks of the power button allows you to change the output power setting
• Four clicks of the power button locks or unlocks the fire button
• Six clicks of the power button will change the language, with English, Spanish and German options.
• Seven clicks of the power button will reset the puff counter

Anti-Burn Technology

As this device uses a DNA chip for dry hit prevention, and is the first one to do so, you can vape away without having to worry that you are going to get a nasty, burnt hit.

Important Note: Anti Burn does only work with the XLIM Stainless Steel Top Fill Cartridges, it will not work with other XLIM pods.

Temperature control technology is utilised, with a read speed of over 30,000 times per second, so the coil is constantly being checked to ensure that it is saturated with e-liquid.

If it isn’t, the anti-burn technology kicks in and prevents power from being delivered to the coil.

This means that you can vape worry free right down to the last drop of e-liquid in the pod, and the lifespan of your pod will be increased as the cotton is protected from scorching!

In practice, I haven’t yet experienced a single dry hit, even when I have vaped a pod virtually dry.

Flavour Replay

Another cool feature is Flavour Replay, if you found that the last puff you had was satisfying, you can click the Replay button on the side and the device will automatically follow the output curve of the last puff to ensure a consistent flavour experience.

When Flavour Replay is active, the heart icon on the screen will be green. To cancel Flavour Replay, press the Replay button twice.

As with Anti-Burn, this feature is only available with the Stainless Steel XLIM Top Fill Cartridges.

EScribe Software

Devices that use DNA chips have had the advantage of EVOLV’s EScribe Suite, which allows you to further tinker with your device using a computer, meaning that you can really customise the functionality and theme of your DNA-powered device.

And you can really go into some serious depth with EScribe if you wish to do so!

On the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version webpage, you can scroll down and there is a link to download the EScribe software specific to this device.

After running the installation script, use the included USB Type-C cable to connect your device to your computer.

Once you have installed EScribe for OXVA, the welcome screen will prompt you to connect your device, and if you are running the old firmware then it will prompt you to download the newest version, which I can highly recommend doing!

In a previous draft of this review, I mentioned that I had issues with the Anti-Burn technology kicking in early at times, though I was testing a pre-release version, and I had issues with getting the device to connect to the EScribe software suite.

After we spoke with OXVA, they advised that they would send out a new unit, and to run a firmware update. Thankfully this eliminated the issues with the Anti-Burn technology, and I had no issues with connecting the OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA version to EScribe!

Within EScribe, you’ll be able to adjust settings such as individual profiles for coils, I particularly liked the ability to increase the power boost to the coil and the warmth of the vape. You can of course decrease this if you prefer a slower ramp up time or a cooler vape.

The stability of the resistance of your coil can be checked too, ensuring that you have a decent connection.

Under the safety screen, you can set a maximum allowable puff time before the device cuts off and whether the device fires by puff only or also uses the power button.

Display settings can be customised, and you can really go down the personalisation rabbit hole here by fully customising the display colours, animations and even the text fonts and icons that are displayed!

This is a level of customisation that I’ve never come across on a pod system before, it really is something to behold!

Charging

You do get a USB-C charging cable included in the kit, so you just need to connect this to your device and a suitable power source.

I was pleased to see the inclusion of 5V/2A fast charging and this does help the device to charge up rapidly, with the charging status displayed clearly on screen during charging.

How Does The OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version Perform?

One of the big differences here between other XLIM Pro models is the inclusion of the new XLIM Top Fill Cartridge SS pods, which feature stainless steel coils to ensure compatibility with the temperature control functionality of the DNA chip.

The XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version is also compatible with all other XLIM pods but you won’t be able to use the anti-burn or flavour replay function, so there’s no dry hit protection if you do use the non-stainless steel XLIM pods!

Included in the kit is a 0.6ohm and a 0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge SS, so you’ll be able to vape either mouth to lung or restricted direct to lung right out of the box.

A 1.2ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge SS will be available at launch to purchase separately, and OXVA have plans to release a 0.4ohm version too.

I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes out for the 0.4ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge SS!

The chipset smartly detects the resistance of the coil and recommends an output power setting, but you also do have the ability to adjust the output power yourself from 5-30W.

When using either the auto draw function or the power button to vape, there’s no delay in this device firing at all- it’s instant! And the power ramps up instantaneously too.

By utilising the EScribe software suite, you can adjust the output power curve to your liking as with other DNA powered devices, so for example if you prefer a slower ramp up time you’ll be able to enjoy that.

Flavour

Now, I was impressed with the flavour that I got from the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge when I reviewed the XLIM SQ Pro 2 Device recently but the stainless steel cartridges paired with the temperature controlled DNA chip really take this up a notch!

Firstly, the flavour from these pods is so clean and pure. Coupled with the DNA chip, these pods really get absolutely everything out of the e-liquids that I had been vaping, and the flavour intensity is very noticeable.

I actually had to drop down a couple of watts on my usual power output settings!

When switching flavours, the temperature control technology really does come into its own.

I can be vaping a sweet, fruity e-liquid right until the pod is completely empty, then switch to a dessert or tobacco flavour when I refill the pod, and the previous flavour does not affect the new one.

DNA chips are regarded as the most consistent out there, and the consistency of the flavour is outstanding. Right from the first vape on a fully charged battery right down to the last on a depleted one, the vape just tastes the same right the way through.

Even without using the Flavour Replay function, I get a phenomenally consistent tasting vape!

Without a doubt this is one of the best pod vapes on the market when it comes to delivering a flavoursome vape.

Pod Lifespan

I’ve had this device in my possession for almost two weeks at the time of writing, and have been using it as my daily driver since the day that I got it.

My puff counter actually shows that I have puffed away on the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version 2,876 times as I write this!

I’ve switched between the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods during that time, using a range of different e-liquids including fruits, tobaccos and desserts, and even now, nearly two weeks later, neither coil shows the slightest sign of degradation and the flavour is as good as it was on day one.

That is a really exceptional pod lifespan!

Airflow

On the side of the device is a sliding airflow control system, allowing me to easily adjust the airflow using my thumb.

And the airflow control is buttery smooth, yet it stays in place once adjusted.

There’s options here for mouth to lung and restricted direct to lung vaping, giving this device a broad range of appeal.

If you like a dense cloud of vapour, this kit is more than capable of providing you with one, just open up the airflow and it will deliver!

On another note, I’m usually terrible at accidentally covering up the airflow intake on pod systems but I have only managed to do that once whilst using this kit, so hats off to OXVA for some excellent airflow placement!

Battery Life

The 1300mAh is easily capable of delivering over a day’s worth of battery life for the average vaper.

I’ve powered away at this with the 0.6ohm pod at 23-25W and still had battery left to spare, so that says something!

Quite often, if I take this kit to work with me, I’ll come home after a shift and still have 70% or more left, so I won’t even need to charge it again if I’m working the next day.

If I do, the 5V/2A fast charging means that it is charged up again in no time at all!

Final Verdict

This isn’t the first pod system to feature temperature control technology to guard against dry hits, but it certainly is the first one to feature EVOLV’s much vaunted DNA technology to do so.

I’m loving how OXVA are continuing to push the envelope with this partnership with EVOLV.

Yes the anti-burn technology wasn’t perfect, triggering a little too early sometimes, but it did the job and still prevented me from experiencing any dry hits.

And the chip is incredibly accurate, providing a fantastically consistent vaping experience, with the stainless steel XLIM top fill cartridges providing some of the very best flavour that I have experienced from a pod system.

I will most definitely be purchasing more of these pods once they become available in the UK, especially as this kit has become one that I do not leave my house without!

I do get a lot of vaping devices in for review, so it’s rare that I get that attached to one, but this is one of those devices that I will continue to use daily long into the future.

This is a real, top-drawer, premium pod kit and this is one of the absolute best pod systems that I have ever had my hands on.

From the looks of prices for pre-orders in the UK, you’ll be paying a bit of a premium for the XLIM Pro 2 DNA Version but I honestly think it is worth absolutely every penny for what you get here.

Plus, you’ll save money thanks to the exceptional pod lifespan, meaning you haven’t got to invest in a new pod every week!

Design & Build Quality

I must say, when I first took the OXVA XLIM SQ PRO 2 out of the presentation box, I was absolutely amazed by what I held in my hand.

The build quality here is far above the majority of other pod systems that I have used and the device just looks absolutely stunning, this really does feel like a high end vaping kit.

OXVA have crafted the XLIM SQ PRO 2 from zinc alloy and artificial leather, featuring dimensions of 48mm x 20.01mm x 93.4mm, and weighing in at 114g this device has some real heft to it.

You can pick from ten different colour finishes, with Frost Marble, Celadon Marble, Dream Pink, Dream Purple, Blue Shadow, Brown Leather, Gunmetal Wood, Black Leather, Brown Wood and Black Carbon available.

One aspect of the XLIM SQ PRO 2 that really stands out is the absolutely glorious, circular shaped HD Touch Screen located on the front of the device.

The screen clarity on the HD Touch Screen is absolutely incredible.

Honestly this is one of the best screens I’ve laid eyes on when it comes to a pod system, and it comes as no surprise when it boasts a pixel density of 316 PPI, a 60Hz refresh rate (akin to a mobile phone) and a resolution of 248×240- above most other pod systems on the market to date!

It is an incredibly responsive device touch screen too, registering all my inputs correctly (even for someone with fat thumbs like myself) and it is as fast and as fluid as one that you would find on a mobile phone. This really did feel like the future of pod systems!

This displays all of the information that you would come to expect, with battery level, coil resistance, output power, puff time and a five-figure puff counter that measures your puffs in the tens of thousands!

Though I’ve not quite reached that level yet…

I had absolutely no issues with the clarity of the screen, with this brightly displaying information under any light condition, and you have the ability to toggle the brightness level too, as well as displaying a screensaver when the device is not in use.

On one side of the device is the function button, which I will cover in more detail below, and on the opposite side is the airflow adjustment slider and the Type-C charging port which has been recessed slightly to minimise damage to the contacts.

A lanyard is included in the kit and you can attach this via the lanyard attachment holes at the top of the device.

XLIM Top Fill Cartridges slot snugly into the pod compartment at the top, and connection is maintained via strong magnets.

Pleasingly, the compartment has been designed so that you do not need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it, and you can also see exactly how much e-liquid remains in your pod at a glance.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the XLIM Top Fill Cartridge

As mentioned above, you don’t actually need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it.

1. Locate the filling port cover on the side of the pod
2. Push this upwards to expose the filling port
3. Then fill away.

Once you have filled your pod up, replace the filling port cover and wait for 5-8 minutes before vaping if you are filling a brand new pod up, to allow the cotton in the coil to fully absorb the e-liquid.

This will prolong the lifespan of your pod by ensuring that the cotton has been fully saturated with e-liquid, and will cut down on the risk of nasty dry/burnt tasting hits occurring!

Operation

• To turn the device on and off, press the function button five times in two seconds.
• An auto-draw system is used, so simply draw on the pod to vape.
• When not using the device, the screen automatically locks to prevent accidental inputs. Press the function button to wake the screen back up and swipe across the screen to unlock it.
• Swipe right on the screen to adjust the power button, and either slide or tap to adjust wattage output from 5-30W.
• Swipe left on the screen to access the puff diary, which displays vaping habits over 1, 7 and 30 days. No information on your vaping habits is shared with OXVA.
• Swipe down on the screen to adjust basic settings such as eco mode, screen settings, tools (to use the flashlight or stopwatch), device language, time and date settings, and to restore the device to factory settings.
• Long press on the screen to adjust the device theme.

Additionally, you can select a vaping animation by swiping upwards and selecting the reel icon.

Swiping upwards also gives you the option to display a QR code on screen to access the device manual, and to display all the app icons on screen to navigate through them, using a very Apple Watch inspired app layout!

Charging

Charging the OXVA XLIM SQ PRO 2 is done via the Type-C charging port located on the side of the device, with 5V/2A fast charging available with suitable chargers.

The 1600mAh battery charges up from flat to full pretty speedily when using fast charging, in as little as under 45 minutes!

How Does The OXVA XLIM SQ PRO 2 Perform?

With the OXVA XLIM SQ PRO 2, you have the ability to adjust the power from 5-30W, allowing you to fine tune the performance of your vape.

And it fires instantly too, there’s no noticeable delay once I take a puff.Power output seems to be very consistent and stable during usage right up until the last 10% or so of the battery life.

I tend to find a power output that suits the e-liquid that I am currently vaping and stick with it, and there’s no drop off in performance until the battery is about to run out.

So each puff tastes consistently great!

I used a combination of different 50/50 and 60/40 VG/PG e-liquids, as well as both freebase and nicotine salt e-liquids, and the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges handled everything I threw at it beautifully, no issues with wicking at all.

0.6ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge

This pod is rated for 20-25W however I did find that I could push this a little higher, I actually preferred to use it in the 25-27W range.

Without a doubt, this is a pod for restricted lung vaping and it provides a warmer and airier vape than the 0.8ohm one. Which is right up my street!

I absolutely love the flavour that I was getting from this pod. It would get the best out of some of the more complex dessert/tobacco blends that I had been vaping, delivering all the flavour notes and subtle nuances of each e-liquid.

Honestly, the quality of the flavour here is on par with the best pods that I have tried!

0.8ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridge

OXVA rate this pod for use at 12-16W and I felt that this pod was definitely better suited to mouth to lung vaping.

I primarily used this for vaping 20mg nicotine salt e-liquids and I got absolutely great results, my wattage sweet spot was 15W and I closed the airflow down to a disposable-like mouth to lung inhale.

This absolutely did the job, giving me a great blend of smooth flavour without any harsh throat hit.

Pod Lifespan

XLIM Top Fill Cartridges are right up there with some of the top dogs when it comes to pod lifespan.

Depending on what type of e-liquid you are using, and your personal vaping habits, expect to get a week or even longer out of a single pod.

I managed a full week of pretty heavy vaping before one gave up the ghost!

Airflow

Airflow is controlled using the sliding airflow switch at the side of the device. I can fine tune this with my thumb, and get everything from a cheek-suckingly tight mouth to lung draw right up to a restricted lung hit.

When vaping this with the airflow fully open, it produces pretty thick levels of vapour too.

Battery Life

As I tend to charge my devices at the end of each day regardless, I’m happy if a device gets me until the end of the day.

And the OXVA XLIM SQ PRO 2 does that and a bit more. On an average day of heavy vaping the 0.6ohm pod at 25-27W, I will get close to a day and a half off a full charge.

That being said, I’ve taken this device to work with me today, and come home after a 12.5 hour shift with 76% battery life still left to go.

I’m sure it will power me through tomorrows shift as well without a top up charge!

When using the 0.8ohm pod, you are looking at multiple days. I got close to three days before the battery fully ran out vaping at 15W.

I’m not all that sure about getting seven days from a single charge when I use this kit, but I do vape heavily, so I’m sure that people who vape lightly or use this device in rotation with a few others might get close to that.

Pros

• Outrageously good flavour from the XLIM Top Fill Cartridges
• Superb build quality
• Stunning looks
• Market leading touchscreen

• Variable wattage and airflow
• Feature rich device
• Mouth to lung and restricted direct lung options
• Can fill the pod without needing to remove it from the device
• …and you can also check the full e-liquid level without needing to remove the pod!

Cons

• Using the device at the higher end of the wattage range limits the battery life
• Might be a little heavy for some users
• Er….that’s it!

Final Verdict

Although OXVA are a brand that has been around for a little while now, I’ve actually only used a couple of devices from them in the past, but after spending time with the XLIM SQ PRO 2 I can definitely say that I am a convert to the OXVA brand.

This pod vape just hits all the right notes for me, the flavour from the XLIM Top Fill cartridges is phenomenal, the build quality of the device is arguably the best that I have ever experienced with a pod system and that touch screen is just absolutely glorious.

The touch screen is no gimmick either- this really does serve as a functional element of the XLIM SQ PRO 2 and works flawlessly!

Genuinely, this is right up there with the best pod vape that I have reviewed this year, without a doubt it is in my top three for sure.

Now, given the abundance of pod systems in my collection, a couple of questions that I have to ask myself are- would I purchase new pods for this kit?

And would I purchase a new one if I lost this one?

And the answer is a resounding yes to both!

In fact, I have actually just ordered some replacement 0.6ohm XLIM Top Fill Cartridges and I will be ordering another XLIM SQ PRO 2 device upon release for my wife…at least that is what I tell myself!

This is the next generation of the excellent Xlim range – which I bore people to tears about!

I put my money where my mouth is when it comes to vaping. With me recommending the Xlim range to anyone who will listen, I am pleased to say that I use the Xlim Go, Xlim Pro and Xlim Pro 2 every single day in rotation! I have reviewed many pod kits and the Xlim is the one I still go back to.

So can this new generation impress me?

Thank you to OXVA for sending the OXVA NeXLIM in for review – it was part of their 5th Anniversary gift box. Happy anniversary and thank you. I will report back honestly on my experience with the device I have been sent!

What To Expect From The OXVA NeXLIM…

As mentioned above, this is a new generation of the Xlim kits. With plenty of new features!

Looking firstly at the basics, the body contains a 1500mAh battery which is bigger than the Xlim Pro (at 1300mAh).

2A type C USB charging means this should not be out of action long whilst charging.

It has a 0.85 inch colour screen and variable wattage operation up to 40W output. There are selectable screen themes with animations – Robot, Cyberpunk and Classic.

Plus there are two user modes: “Boost” for a more powerful vape and “ECO” for the most economical vape.

In Boost mode both coils work together to create a larger heating surface. In Eco mode there is only one coil in action at a time and they alternate to provide a longer coil life.

When it comes to operation, this is a simple auto draw device, meaning just inhale on the mouthpiece and it will automatically fire.

Even better there is a user guide which you can bring up on screen.

A slide switch is located on the side which allows you to adjust the incoming airflow to suit your style of vaping.

The main marketing point of this kit is the new pods. Like the Xlim these have fixed coil pods which are refillable. When the coil performance has deteriorated you replace the pod.

However – unlike the Xlim – these pods have two mesh coils which promise a flavour boost and longer lifespan. I have never had an issue with the OXVA Xlim pods lifespan – having got over 5,000 puffs from a single pod (a few times with the V2 and V3 pods)! Below is an introduction video to the dual mesh principle.

In standard format the pod will hold up to 4ml of your own e-liquid via the top fill port.

But sadly for us poor buggers in the UK, the TPD regulations mean our pods are reduced to 2ml capacity.

There are 3 pod options to choose from: 0.6ohm (included in kit), 0.8ohm (included in kit) and 1.2ohm (available separately).

OXVA NeXLIM Design & Build Quality

As I only received a gift box version of the kit, I am unable to comment on other components in the kit such as the USB cable. Both pods and device were included and I have downloaded the user manual.

I believe the device is the Glory Red version and I have the 4ml versions of the pods.

Well the manual is OK. It seems a bit brief for my liking…

For instance there is no information on charging, what the LED indicator colours mean or if you can lock the button? But you do also have the user guide on your screen which you can access by a long press of the button.

OXVA NeXLIM Mod

This is such a cheerful looking little device. The design is so beautiful!

The main shell is a Pearlescent White which gives off sparkly effects when it catches the light.

On the front and rear are the bright Red grip panels – which I think are a PU material – like artificial Leather. It has a rubbery texture which feels so soft and smooth and makes you want to keep touching it. Really excellent design with a slight Retro nod with the 2 colour palette.

The front grip panel has the OXVA 5th Anniversary logo embossed into it and the rear has the text “High fives, higher dreams” embossed.

Another prominent feature is the circular screen. The main Black panel has a 22mm diameter approx. with a display area of approx. 18mm diameter.

Looking at the right side of the device, you will find the airflow adjustment slider. This only protrudes around 1mm so there is minimal chance of it getting hooked on a pocket or in a bag. The slide action is smooth with plenty of restriction to prevent accidental adjustment.

Just below this in Silver shiny text is the NeXLIM logo.

The opposite side features the operation button. This is quite small measuring 8x3mm but is responsive and clicky. As the side panel curves in slightly, this means the button area is slightly recessed and the button hardly protrudes from the main profile of the mod.

You will find the USB type C port on the base of the mod surrounded by the required legal logos and battery spec printed in Silver.

Inside the pod compartment – which is pretty deep – you will see 3 Gold coloured spring loaded electrical contacts to conduct electricity from the mod to the coil.

Two Silver rectangles are the magnets which hold the pod in place. These are nice and strong and pull the pod in automatically when you just align the pod in the compartment. But it is still easy to remove the pod when required.

It is a delight to touch, hold and look at. I hope the vaping experience is equally delightful!

Screen

Depending on what theme you have selected the screen information does vary:

Classic Theme

This is the simplest and most informative screen.

At the top the current mode is shown (ECO in the above image).

On the left side is a scale showing charge remaining and this is repeated on the other side.

In the centre is the power output level in Watts (W).

Below that is the puff counter (P) and pod resistance (R) in ohms (Ω).

There are no animations when vaping, the screen simply goes blank.

Robot Theme

Although this really is the cutest screen theme – it gives the least information!

There are some cute eyes and a smile which animate when vaping into heart shapes and the text “AMAZING”.

On the main screen all you will see are the eyes and the current power level. A flame symbol appears when in Boost mode and disappears when in ECO mode.

Cyberpunk Theme

This theme has a main animation of either a volcano erupting or some kind of spiritual fog coming out of a hole? If you have a better idea of what this is – let me know in the comments below!

At the top you will see the power output in Watts (W) and the mode selected (ECO in the image above).

Below that to the left under the spark symbol is the battery charge percentage remaining. To the right is the pod resistance (R) and under that is the puff counter (P).

OXVA NeXLIM Pod

I received the 4ml pod versions and they are cleverly colour coded to help you decipher which pod is which. Why do other brands not do this!

For reference – the 0.8ohm pod is Orange, the 0.6ohm is Black and the 1.2ohm is Green.

Sadly this is not compatible with the Xlim pods as they are a lot smaller. You can see in the image below a comparison between the Xlim V3 and NeXLIM pods.

So yeah this is a massive pod – I am not sure how the 2ml version is created – is the pod physically smaller or is there a capacity reducer installed? Let me know if you have a 2ml pod!

Design wise it is pretty similar in shape to the previous Xlim pods and is very curved and smooth. The mouthpiece is super comfortable.

There is a Silicon port cover located on the side of the pod – meaning you do not need to remove the pod for filling.

You lift the port cover at the bottom end (nearest the device) and you can swing it out of the way for access to the port.

It is quite a good size port measuring around 6mm by 3mm and I had no issues with bottle nozzles from 30ml and 100ml bottles fitting in there.

Despite the slightly tinted finish, the e-liquid level is very clear to see and you can view approximately 95% of the e-liquid when it is installed on the mod. There is only a small area of the e-liquid container which you cannot see – and to be honest I would be filling the pod before it gets to this point.

The bottom 3rd of the pod is obscured by Black plastic but this is where the coil and electrical components live so you are not missing out on any e-liquid in there.

At the base of the pod are the electrical contacts and magnets which match with the contacts in the mod.

Printed on the base is the pod resistance, recommended power levels and the “dual mesh” text.

So far it seems to be a robust and well built – but chunky pod!

Quick Start Guide

The kit comes with the 0.6ohm pod installed. Make sure to fill this before removing the isolator sticker at the base of the pod. If you vape before filling this will burn out the coil and the pod will need to be binned.

The 0.8ohm pod is also included in the kit if you want to use this first!

You will need to fill, charge and set up the device to get going – I will guide you through the steps below!

OXVA NeXLIM Basic Operation

• Power On/Off = press the button 5 times to turn on or off.
• Vaping = inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.
• Battery indicator = The screen displays the remaining battery charge – depending on theme chosen.
• Battery indicator when charging = The screen will display the charging progress as both an icon and a numerical percentage. The screen will turn off when fully charged.
• Adjust mode = press the button twice and keep pressing until the required mode (Eco or Boost) is displayed. Boost uses both coils for more power and ECO uses only one coil at a time (alternately) to increase battery and coil life. Leave the device until it returns to the home screen.
• Adjust output = press button 3 times until the power value is flashing. Keep pressing until required power is displayed on the screen. Leave the device until it returns to the home screen.
• Adjust screen theme = press the button 4 times and keep pressing until the desired theme is displayed. Leave the device until it returns to the home screen.
• Puff counter reset = press the button 7 times to reset the puff counter. Leave the device until it returns to the home screen.
• Display guide = long press the button to display the user guide.
• Adjust airflow = Move the airflow slider as shown below to reduce (-) or increase (+) the incoming airflow.

OXVA NeXLIM Protections

• Low battery – The screen will display “Battery Low”. To rectify charge the battery.
• Short circuit / too low resistance – The screen will display “Short”. To rectify clean all pod and device contacts. If still not working try a new pod. After that if the issue persists the device may be faulty.
• Open circuit / no pod installed – The screen will display “No Pod”. To rectify make sure a pod is installed. Clean all pod and device contacts. If still not working try a new pod. After that if the issue persists the device may be faulty.
• Over time – if you vape for longer than 8 seconds the screen will display “Time Out”. Restart vaping to continue.
• Over heat – if the circuit board temperature is too high the screen will display “Temp High”. Wait for the device to cool down before vaping.

How To Charge The Battery

The charging rate is specified as 2A.

• Using the included USB type C cable, connect the small end into the USB port on the mod.
• Connect the large end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet.
• The screen will display the charging process as a percentage and as an icon. When fully charged the screen will turn off.

I found it took around 40 minutes on a 2A adaptor to charge from fully depleted.

How To Fill the Pod

If using a new pod leave to stand for 10 minutes after the first fill to allow the coil to saturate with e-liquid.

• You don’t need to remove the pod from the mod.
• Lift up the fill port cover.
• Add e-liquid and watch the level through the side of the pod.
• Replace the fill port cover firmly.

How Does The OXVA NeXLIM Perform?

As there are 2 different types of pod on here, I will use different e-liquid to suit.

0.6ohm NeXLIM Pod

For this pod I used two different e-liquids.

Firstly a higher VG e-liquid as this is a low resistance / high power pod. I chose Ferocious Cherry which has 70%VG and 30%PG. There is no nicotine added as I like the flavour to be stronger and nic shots will dilute it.

Then after that I used the Vapoholic Ferocious Sour Cherry Sweets with nicotine salt added to around 6mg strength.

On the base of the pod the power limits are specified as 20-40W.

Eco Mode

In ECO mode the device defaults to 22W.

This is a really beautiful vape. So much flavour but it does feel a bit “cool”. Of course you can up the power a bit if you would like a bit more oomph!

The flavour is delicious and of course you get slightly more vapour than you would with the 0.8ohm pod.

0.6ohm Pod Verdict

I really enjoyed using this pod as well as the 0.8ohm – very rare to have 2 excellent performing pods in one kit!

UPDATE 17/2/25: I am now at 8066 puffs on this pod and the flavour is still banging!

UPDATE 19/2/25: Finally the pod has died – getting a burnt taste now. It did well with me getting 8461 puffs from the same pod!

Boost Mode

In Boost mode the device defaults to 38W.

I will update the review when I have used this on a couple of Boost mode cycles.

0.8ohm NeXLIM Pod

For this pod I used a 50/50 VG/PG e-liquid as this is a kind of crossover coil resistance between MTL and RDL.

The e-liquid I chose is the Vapoholic Ferocious Sour Cherry Sweets with nicotine salt added to around 6mg strength.

On the base of the pod the suggested power limits are 12-32W.

Eco Mode

In ECO mode the device defaults to 16W. This ties in with the 0.8ohm pods I use in the Xlim kits at 16W. In this mode only one coil is working at a time so this operates in the same way as the Xlim pods.

As I mention below the airflow range is huge so I found I had to reduce the airflow a lot in this mode to get the best performance. To get the equivalent of the Xlim Pro 2 when fully open, I set the NeXLIM to half open.

The flavour is instantly as good as the Xlim range which I adore. There is flavour galore and plenty of vapour.

In fact I went up to 18W and it came alive even more!

What an excellent vape this is and it will make MTL and RDL vapers very happy!

Boost Mode

In Boost mode the device defaults to 30W. In this case both coils are working simultaneously.

I had to open the airflow from the mid setting I used in ECO mode as it was getting a bit too warm!

This is like MTL vaping on steroids! You can get a lovely MTL airflow with amplified flavour and heat and I bloody love it!

With the airflow in the more restricted settings this can get a bit uncomfortably hot, but open up above the mid setting and you will get a lovely MTL or RDL vape.

What a cracking pod this is, both modes kick out the flavour!

After 8 refills (approx. 40ml of e-liquid) and 970 puffs so far, the flavour is still going strong – so I am hoping for great pod life!

Airflow

I use a rating system for airflow – 0= fully closed and 10= like breathing unrestricted fresh air!

For the 0.8ohm pod I found a huge airflow range. In ECO mode I was expecting a similar vape to the Xlim 0.8ohm pods. But in fact I had to close the airflow down to the mid setting to get a good MTL vape which is similar to the fully open setting on the Xlim Pro 2. So I would rate this around 2 when closed (tight airflow and able to get the device to fire) up to around 6.5 fully open. So this pod would keep MTL and RDL vapers happy.

With the 0.6ohm pod and airflow fully closed I would rate this again around 2. It is actually a good tight MTL airflow and the auto draw firing still works perfectly. Fully open this is quite unrestricted at around 7 – so again ideal for MTL & RDL vapers. Even some DTL vapers might enjoy the unrestricted airflow.

Leaks?

Not a drop – nice work OXVA!

Mod Performance

One of the best things about this kit is the auto draw activation. It is super quick – plus with there being no fire button it needs to be reliable. And – YES – it is reliable.

Unlike the VPrime which struggled to auto fire when the airflow was fully open, the NeXLIM has zero issues with this and fires perfectly with both pods even with fully open airflow.

I found the power output was pretty accurate and held the output well throughout the battery charge state.

With the 0.8ohm pod in the “ECO” mode (16W) and “Boost” mode the device really struggled to fire when the battery percentage was 5% remaining.

Considering I have had more expensive devices starting to drop in power from 20% remaining, then the little OXVA NeXLIM is doing impressively well.

Of course this could all change using the 0.6ohm pod as it requires higher power. So I will see how that goes.

With the 0.6ohm pod on “ECO” mode at 22W I found the power to hold until about 15% charge remaining. After this it was a bit inconsistent, some vapes felt the normal power whilst other times it felt a bit weak. However even at 1% battery charge remaining I still got a reasonable vape – which is rare!

Battery Life

This will always rely on your own vaping habits and the pod selected. I am a very heavy vaper so this must be considered.

For the 0.8ohm pod on the “ECO” setting (16W) I got timings from 6.5 hours (318 puffs) to 9 hours (372 puffs) per full charge. I am not sure why there is such a huge variance in timing but both times I used around 3 pod fulls of e-liquid (5ml x 5 = 15ml) and the puff count is only slightly different.

I also timed the 0.8ohm pod on the “Boost” setting (30W) and got around 7 hours vaping (280 puffs approximately). So the boost setting does impact battery life and puff count, but not as drastically as I was expecting!

For the 0.6ohm pod in “ECO” mode I got a similar situation where the battery life varied a lot. From around 7 hours vaping time (329 puffs) to 9 hours vaping (355 puffs). Even with the lower resistance pod the battery life is still great. I will update the battery life with the “Boost” mode timings soon!

Pros

• Boost mode really brings MTL / RDL vaping alive!

• Not compatible with original Xlim pods
• Some of the screen themes do not show all the information (but this is down to personal preference)
• Cannot lock the button (but it will not cause the device to fire – but could adjust settings in pocket or bag)
• LED indicator colours and info on charging missing from instructions

Final Review Verdict

I really think that OXVA sent me the best colour option in the range! The sparkly pearlescent frame highlighted by the non-animal based Leather panels is really beautiful. I love holding it and am constantly stroking the squidgy panels! It really is eye-catching! Oh and I am digging the two tone retro design.

I am sorry I am unable to comment on the kit contents in this review as I only received the device and 2 pods.

The 0.8ohm pod which I used first blew me away. In single coil mode (ECO) the flavour was exactly what I am used to with the epic Xlim kits. Then switch it over to Boost mode and it’s a turbo charged MTL / RDL flavour sensation!

I also found the 0.6ohm pod to be an excellent performer too! At present I am at 8066 puffs on the same original pod with plenty of flavour! It finally gave up at 8461 puffs with a burnt flavour kicking in. I thought the original XLIM pods were great with over 5000 puffs to a pod, but this is just incredible!

The extra battery capacity is most welcome – yet it still only takes around 40 minutes to fully charge – bonus!

My “cons” list above is really pretty niggly things, nothing that spoils the enjoyment of vaping on this kit.

One main thing I have noticed is this is a bit more expensive than the most recent Xlim models such as the Xlim Pro 2.

Do the upgrades to the device and pod justify spending extra on the NeXLIM?

Well – for me – yes.

I use my Xlim devices heavily, having 3 or 4 I use in rotation until the battery needs charging and I just pick up another. So for me the increase in battery life is well worth it.

But if you are not after higher power or more battery life, or you may vape a lot less frequently than me? In your case I would suggest the Xlim Go or Xlim Pro 2 as they are less expensive.

I still would recommend the NeXLIM to those who like more power, a huge range of airflow, excellent flavour, great battery life and robust build quality. Although more expensive than the Xlim it is still way more rugged than some more expensive pod kits from other brands.

Also throw in the fact there has been zero leaks – this does mean the NeXLIM has an advantage over the sometimes leaky Xlim V3 pods.

In fact I have got some new XL 0.8ohm pods on order as I intend to add this to my daily vape collection!

OXVA seemed to emerge from nowhere when they were wowing us all with such beauties as their OXVA Xlim, Origin, Arbiter and Velocity devices.

So let’s see how the new VPrime fares! Thank you to OXVA for sending this for review. I will report back honestly on my experience with the product I received.

What To Expect From The OXVA VPrime…

This kit is still classed as a pod kit but it aims to cater to those who like a higher power vape, whilst also satisfying those who like an MTL vape too.

Due to the range of pods and airflow provided, OXVA state this kit is the first “auto draw DTL pod”.

It is designed to be able to provide MTL, DTL and even RDL airflow options. We tell you what these terms mean in our Guide To Vape Styles.

The VPrime pods hold fixed coils – so the whole pod is replaced when the coil performance deteriorates.

So far you can choose from:

• 0.2ohm DTL (included in kit)
• 0.6ohm RDL (included in kit)
• 0.4ohm RDL (available separately)
• 0.8ohm MTL (coming soon).

An adjustable airflow control is also provided to fine tune the airflow to your needs!

The pods will hold 5ml in standard format which is reduced to 2ml for TPD regulated areas. A top fill port allows for easy refilling.

The coils used are part of the Unitech 2.0 design which promises a longer lifespan, smooth vapour and a richer flavour.

Looking now at the actual device – it houses a 2600mAh battery which is charged via the USB Type C port at a fast 2A charge rate.

The output is adjustable up to 60W and you can view this along with your other vaping data on the vivid 0.96inch colour screen.

To make things more fun, there are different 3D screen themes you can choose from: “Space Boy” (astronaut), Rocket Launch (a rocket taking off) or the plain “Cosmic Journey”.

When it comes to activation you can either press the fire button manually or opt for the auto draw which kicks in when you inhale.

OXVA VPrime Design & Build Quality

I received the 5ml Black Leather kit.

The packaging is great, quite compact with a clear view window so you can see the colour of the device.

When you slide the tray out of the box there is an overlay which gives you a quick glance reference to the operation of the fire button.

Lift up the overlay to reveal the mod housed snugly in a foam cut out and a box to the side contains all the accessories.

Also included in the kit is an excellent quality Red braided USB C Cable and a little card with a guide to the different types of pods, e-liquids and power settings.

Instruction wise, this is pretty brief but does tell you most of what you need to know.

You get 2 pages per language and a decent diagram to show you all the components.

OXVA VPrime Mod

This is quite a chunky but lovely rounded device. It reminds me a bit of a bar of soap in the shape!

The front panel houses the screen, fire button and LED indicator. Surrounding that is the Black Leather finish – which will vary depending on which variant you buy.

The rear panel is all Leather with some nice etching that has the OXVA Logo, VPrime and “Vaping Reimagined”.

Surrounding the Leather panels is the metal frame – Zinc Alloy I think. This has a lovely Gunmetal finish on my device.

On the base you will find the USB Type C port, 2 Torx screw heads and the text “2600mAh, Made in China”.

Looking at the device with the screen facing you, the left side houses the airflow adjuster.

The slider knob only protrudes around 1mm from the side of the device, so less chance of it getting caught in pockets or bags. It is quite easy to slide but not easy to knock out of adjustment by accident. Two symbols show which direction is restricted and increased airflow.

On the opposite side you will find the adjustment buttons. The top half of the button is the “+” button and the bottom half is the “-” button. This is nice and clicky and very responsive.

Above the adjustment buttons you will find the airflow inlet.

The pod compartment looks a bit crazy – this pod has a lot of magnets and electrical contacts.

In the centre of the pod compartment are 3 Gold colour sprung contacts which contact the electrical contacts on the base of the pod. As this is centred you can install the pod any way around.

You will then see 4 magnets in a square configuration – again these match the magnets on the base of the pod.

Otherwise there are 2 screw heads and the airflow chamber which is connected to the vacuum sensor which triggers the fire mechanism when you vape.

The magnets have a very strong force and pull the pod in from about half way installed. Yet it is easy to remove the pod when required.

Screen

This is a lovely screen – the display area measures around 22mmx12mm and it is bright and clear.

Below the screen is the LED indicator, you can choose from different lighting effects or turn it off completely.

Depending on what theme you have selected the screen information does vary.

Cosmic Journey Theme

This theme displays the battery percentage and icon at the top of the screen.

Below that is the selected output in watts.

Underneath you will see a padlock icon, which shows if the fire button is locked or unlocked.

In the circles below you will see the pod resistance in ohms (Ω) and your puff time in seconds.

The bottom of the screen displays the puff count.

Space Boy Theme

With this screen theme things are a bit crammed up. But you do get a lovely image of an astronaut.

Again at the top is the battery remaining icon and percentage with the power output below with the W symbol (for Watts).

At the side of the output is the padlock symbol.

The next row displays the pod resistance and puff time, with the puff counter value at the bottom of the screen.

Rocket Launch Theme

For this theme the data is set with a space rocket as the main image.

At the top is the puff counter and the spark symbol shows the battery percentage remaining.

Then you have the pod resistance and puff time.

At the bottom is the output value in W (Watts) and the padlock symbol.

OXVA VPrime Pod

I received the 5ml standard kit and it is a big old pod! I am not sure how the TPD compliant pods work – are the pods the same size with filling material to reduce the capacity or are they physically smaller? Let me know in the comments if you have tried both the 5ml and 2ml!

There is a lovely flat but rounded mouthpiece which feels super comfortable in use.

At the side of that is the fill port cover. You lift this from the bottom side of the cover to reveal the fill port. The port is a rounded rectangle shape and measures approx 3x6mm. I had no issues getting my bottle nozzles in here.

In the 5ml pod, the area inside the mouthpiece is utilised for e-liquid storage. But this did cause a few air locks when filling. This is basically where an area of the pod seems to have a “bubble” which reduces the space left for e-liquid. I often found the mouthpiece area had an air bubble which prevented me from adding the full 5ml to the pod. Tilting the device and pod when filling so that the e-liquid entering from the bottle is aimed towards the mouthpiece can help prevent airlocks.

The top half of the pod is visible when it is installed into the mod and this is where the e-liquid lives. Below that is the coil section which is concealed anyway so you have a really good view of the e-liquid level at all times.

On the bottom of the pod is where most of the good stuff is happening. Also the 0.2ohm pod has a Red base to help identify it.

It is etched with the pod resistance and the recommended power limits.

There are 4 Silver circles which are the magnets that hold the pod in position in the mod.

In the centre are 3 Gold coloured electrical contacts and there are 2 airflow inlet holes. All these are designed so the pod can be inserted either way around.

The pod feels super sturdy and very well made.

Quick Start Guide

The kit comes with the 0.2ohm pod installed. Make sure to fill this before removing the isolator sticker at the base of the pod. If you vape before filling this will burn out the coil and the pod will need to be binned.

The 0.6ohm pod is packaged inside the box.

You will need to fill, charge and set up the device to get going – I will guide you through the steps below!

OXVA VPrime Basic Operation

• Power On/Off = press the fire button 5 times to turn on or off.
• Vaping = press the fire button or inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.
• Battery indicator = The screen displays the battery percentage remaining and an icon.
• Battery indicator when charging = The screen will display the charging progress as both an icon and a numerical percentage. The screen will turn off when fully charged.
• Turn on / off manual firing = press the “+” and “-” adjustment buttons at the same time to lock or unlock the fire button.
• Adjust output = press the adjustment buttons to increase (+) or decrease (-) the required power on the screen.
• Puff counter reset = press the fire button twice to access the secondary menu to reset the puff counter. To scroll use the adjustment buttons and use the fire button to confirm the selection.
• Secondary menu = press the fire button twice and a secondary menu offers you the options to adjust the screen theme, the lighting effect (you can turn the lighting off) and puff counter reset. To scroll use the adjustment buttons and use the fire button to confirm the selection.
• Adjust airflow = Move the airflow slider up to reduce the incoming airflow and down to increase.

OXVA VPrime Protections

• Low battery – The screen will display “Low Battery”. To rectify charge the battery.
• Short circuit / too low resistance – The screen will display “Short”. To rectify clean all pod and device contacts. If still not working try a new pod. After that if the issue persists the device may be faulty.
• Open circuit / no pod installed – The screen will display “No Atomizer”. To rectify make sure a pod is installed. Clean all pod and device contacts. If still not working try a new pod. After that if the issue persists the device may be faulty.
• Over time – if you vape for longer than 8 seconds the screen will display “Time Out”. Restart vaping to continue.
• Over heat – if the circuit board temperature is too high the screen will display “Temp High”. Wait for the device to cool down before vaping.

How To Charge The Battery

The charging rate is specified as 2A.

• Using the included USB type C cable, connect the small end into the USB port on the mod.
• Connect the large end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet.
• The screen will display the charging process as a percentage and as an icon. When fully charged the screen will turn off.

I have not yet managed to time a full charge (keep forgetting as it is charging!). I will update the review with the charging time!

How To Fill the Pod

If using a new pod leave to stand for 10 minutes after the first fill to allow the coil to saturate with e-liquid.

• You don’t need to remove the pod from the mod.
• Lift up the fill port cover.
• Tilt the device and pod so that e-liquid entering the pod is aimed towards the mouthpiece area on the 5ml pods. This will help to prevent an airlock.
• Add e-liquid and watch the level through the side of the pod.
• Replace the fill port cover firmly.

How Does The OXVA VPrime Perform?

As there are 2 different types of pod on here, I will use different e-liquid to suit.

0.2ohm VPrime Pod

For this pod I used a higher VG e-liquid as this is a low resistance / high power pod. I chose the Choppa Vapes Blue Slush which has a 64%VG and 36%PG mix ratio. There is no nicotine added as I like the flavour to be stronger and nic shots will dilute it.

The suggested power limits are 45 to 60W and the mod automatically selected 55W for me – so I thought that would be a good place to start!

Wow the flavour is epic! It is clear and the power shift from mainly MTL vaping to this sub ohm beast has taken me aback!

It feels mega powerful and the amount of vapour is very surprising too!

I am reluctant to increase the power any more as I am quite shocked how ferocious this feels at only 55W!

If there are no leaks and the coil life is decent – this is well on its way to getting 10/10!

0.6ohm VPrime Pod

For this pod I used a 50/50 VG/PG e-liquid as this is a kind of crossover coil resistance between MTL and RDL.

The e-liquid I chose is the Vapoholic Ferocious Sour Cherry Sweets with nicotine salt added to around 6mg strength.

On the base of the pod the suggested power settings are between 20 to 25W. The device automatically set itself to 22W. As OXVA devices generally set the output accurately to the best setting I trusted this and started at 22W!

At 22W I can taste the beautiful cherry notes of my e-liquid and there is a decent amount of vapour too!

At 25W I felt it was slightly too warm but 23W was just perfect.

The rich flavour this pod produces reminds me of the excellent Xlim range, but there is slightly more airflow available which produces slightly more dense vapour.

So far after 8 refills (approximately 40ml of e-liquid) the flavour is still excellent!

Airflow

One slight issue I found is that the auto draw activation can be a bit hit and miss with the airflow fully open. It doesn’t always fire instantly and can be a bit stuttery if you reduce your inhalation power.

I use a rating system for airflow – 0= fully closed and 10= like breathing unrestricted fresh air!

With the 0.6ohm pod there feels like a huge range of adjustment for the airflow. Fully closed the airflow is identical to the Xlim Pro 2 with a rating of around 1. There is enough airflow to get it to trigger the auto draw firing but not enough for a decent vape.

Fully open, the 0.6ohm pod is very airy at around 6.5 to 7! My happy place being a MTL vaper was with the airflow just over half closed.

This pod is ideal for MTL, RDL and even DTL vaping styles! Very versatile!

When it comes to the 0.2ohm pod airflow, in fully closed you can still get a vape which i would rate around 3. At fully open you are looking at a very unrestricted airflow of around 7. But the fully open airflow is again causing the auto draw to stutter.

This is perfect for DTL vaping and you might find RDL is possible as well.

Leaks?

So far so good! No leaks!

Mod Performance

There have been a couple of issues for me with the mod.

Firstly as I have mentioned a lot – the auto draw does not like the airflow open wide.

Secondly there is a bit of a power drop off as the battery discharges. This is usual when the battery is down to about 10% – a lot of devices suffer from it. But here I felt it when the battery was just under 40%.

This was at 23W and the 0.6ohm pod. The power seemed to drop just after 40% and by 10% I was getting e-liquid coming through the mouthpiece which is a sign that it is not being vaporised fully. Under 10% I can forgive but above that is a bit unusual.

Otherwise I like the mod, the display is excellent and the battery life has been great.

Battery Life

This will always rely on your own vaping habits and the pod selected. I am a very heavy vaper so this must be considered.

For the 0.6ohm pod I got around 8 hours of vaping and roughly 500 puffs per charge.

I will update this review for the battery life with the 0.2ohm pod.

Pros

• Lovely styling
• Very comfortable to hold in your hand
• Easy to fill
• Wide range of airflow with both pods
• Excellent battery life
• Great flavour
• Easy to see the full e-liquid level when pod installed on the mod
• Mod and pod feel super sturdy and well made

Cons

• Some issues with auto draw when airflow is fully open
• Two different pods may confuse people as there would be 2 different types of e-liquid required. Newer vapers may not realise this and use high nicotine, high PG e-liquid in the 0.2ohm pod which will be mega harsh.
• Instructions are a bit brief
• Power output seemed to reduce when the battery was just under 40% charge
• 5ml pod had quite a few airlocks when filling, meaning I could not fully fill the pod

Final Review Verdict

I am not 100% sold on this kit to be honest.

I love OXVA and still use various Xlim devices daily so I perhaps have high expectations!

Firstly I am not sure who this kit is tailored to? A beginner might get mixed up and use the 0.2ohm pod thinking it is ideal for some strong nicotine. Someone buying it for the low resistance pod might not like the 0.6ohm pod?

The main issue for me was the auto draw sensor. It is perfectly fine at 50% airflow restricted or below. But start opening that airflow more and the auto draw struggles and is a bit unreliable. Of course this is quite minor as you can also use the fire button – but it is an issue.

A drop in the output seemed to be apparent when the charge was below 40%. By 10% charge left it was sending un-vaporised e-liquid through the mouthpiece which shows how weak the output was at that point. I have not tried the 0.2ohm pod yet – I suspect this power drop might be worse at a higher output. I will of course report back when I have finished using that pod.

The instructions are a bit brief but they do tell you the majority of what you need to know.

I love the flavour and battery life and the screen is really bright and vibrant. It would be great if OXVA could offer downloadable screen themes to customise the display more.

The VPrime has not taken over from my Xlim’s that I use daily, but I would be very happy to take it if I was away from a charger for a long period as the 5ml capacity and that big battery mean you can vape away for very long periods. It also feels very well made and chunky.

For us in TPD regulated areas the pod capacity will be reduced to 2ml and with the 0.2ohm pod you will feel like you are constantly filling it. This of course is not OXVA’s fault!

The screen themes remind me of the OXVA Xlim SQ Pro and I have to say they are very cute!

I am a huge OXVA Xlim fan girl – I have every model made from the original Xlim V1/V2, Xlim SE, Xlim SQ, Xlim C, Xlim Pro, Xlim SQ Pro and the most recent Xlim Go.

For me the Xlim kits just keep getting better and better! Let’s hope the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 follows that trend!

What To Expect From The OXVA Xlim Pro 2?

As mentioned above this is an update to the Xlim Pro – so what is new?

For a start the battery has increased from the 1000mAh of the Xlim Pro to a whopping 1300mAh! A Type C USB port is provided for 2A quick charging.

The other main update is the screen! This has a 0.56 inch HD colour screen which is super clear.

It also has the familiar RGB light bar LED indicator on the bottom of the screen to display faults.

You can choose from the main screen or 2 animations to display when vaping.

Plus you can also view operating instructions at a single push of the button.

This has an auto draw activation only – meaning you inhale on the mouthpiece and it will fire up.

Output wise this is adjustable from 5 to 30W and you can manually adjust this or trust the device to select the correct output itself with the automatic smart feature.

This comes with the newest (V3) Top Fill pods. These pods are compatible with all of the previous Xlim devices (apart from the Xlim C).

The coils are fixed meaning no messy coil changes – you discard the pod when the coil performance has deteriorated or tastes burnt. From previous experience you will be getting a very long pod life!

There are 4 resistance options of the pods – 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm (included in kit), 0.8ohm (included in kit) and 1.2ohm.

If you want ultra simplicity – you can use the pre-filled Xlim pods. Makes vaping as easy as using a disposable vape but in a more environmentally and wallet friendly way!

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Design and Build Quality

I received the Dream Purple version.

The packaging is a similar size to the Xlim Pro box. You slide the inner tray out and you are greeted with a plastic overlay which shows all the button operations simply laid out.

The instructions are OK, they tell you pretty much what you need to know apart from information on charging.

If you find the included instructions a bit small to read you can download a digital copy here.

A nice little bonus is the excellent quality Lanyard and USB Cable. The cable is a bit short but has a lovely Red braided finish!

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Mod

Obviously I will tend to compare this with the Xlim Pro as it is the predecessor!

This is only one gramme heavier at 67g than the Xlim Pro but has 300mAh more battery capacity!

Size wise it is pretty much the same – only being 3mm longer – which is not even noticeable.

As mine is the Dream Purple version it does not have the textured artificial Leather finish but instead it has an intricate IML (In Mould Labelling) finish.

Basically the IML allows intricate patterns to be applied in multiple layers and finished off with a moulded veneer style outer shell.

The patterns take the form of “swishes” like the texture of a paint brush and they catch the light beautifully.

You will find the patterned panels on the front and back with a brushed finish frame running around the sides, top and bottom of the mod. On one side the “Xlim Pro 2” logo is etched in Silver.

On the front of the mod you will find the rounded screen which we will discuss below and the OXVA logo in a shiny Silver finish.

The right side of the device features the airflow adjustment slider which does have quite a strong resistance. You will need a thumbnail to push this. Thankfully the knob does not protrude far from the edge of the device so is unlikely to get hooked on anything when in a pocket or bag.

The base is made from the same metal as the frame and has the battery capacity and required legal logos etched in.

It is also home to the USB Type C port which worked perfectly and 2 Torx screw heads. This will stand upright but the base is smaller than the rest of the mod so it does easily topple over.

The pod compartment offers no surprises – it looks the same as the rest of the Xlim devices. There are 2 spring loaded connectors and 2 strong magnets. I do find these magnets to be stronger than previous Xlim mods which is great as the pod doesn’t fall out. But it can be a bit difficult to grip the pod to pull it out of the mod.

Work Face

The work face is a term we use to cover any display and operating buttons / switches.

The screen is super bright and clear – you can really see how the HD display quality makes everything much clearer.

On the top row of the screen is the percentage of battery charge remaining and an icon depicting the battery charge.

Below that is the output value selected in Watts (W).

At the bottom left is the pod resistance which is denoted by the ohm (Ω) symbol.

Finally the bottom right is the puff counter which goes up to 5 digits.

You can choose from 2 different animations when vaping – one looks like fireworks and the other is a circular Blue swirl. Or you can choose to show the home screen with the RGB light showing different colours. I have tried to capture these on the video below.

The fire button is located on the side of the mod and is a good size. It is very clicky and responsive too.

OXVA Xlim Top Fill Pod

I have copied and pasted this section from other reviews which use the same pod!

The base has 2 magnets and 2 contact areas. There are also 2 airflow holes which means the pod can be installed either way around. The pod resistance and recommended power levels are printed on the base too but in this case are very hard to see.

Although darkly tinted, the e-liquid level is always visible, in fact even when installed in the mod as the coil base sits level with the top of the mod.

You get the same comfortable “Duck Bill” style mouthpiece which is always a pleasure to use.

The fill port cover is located on the side of the pod and when you do your first fill it can be a bit of a puzzle as to how to access the port.

Simply lift up the bottom edge of the port cover and it will lift up to reveal the port. You can also swing the cover out of the way too.

It might be a bit fiddly to open if you have short fingernails as it is one you will need to prise up. But it is far easier to close than the V2 pods which I found sometimes leaked if you couldn’t push the cover fully in.

The fill port size is generous at 5mmx3mm and I had no issues with small bottle nozzles when filling.

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Quick Start Guide

The kit comes with the 0.6ohm pod installed. Make sure to fill this before removing the isolator sticker at the base of the pod. If you vape before filling this will burn out the coil and the pod will need to be binned.

You will need to fill, charge and set up the device to get going – I will guide you through the steps below!

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Basic Operation

• Power On/Off = Press the operation button 5 times to turn on or off.
• Vaping = Simply inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.
• Battery indicator = The screen displays a battery icon and battery percentage remaining
• Battery indicator when charging = The LED cycles through different colours and will turn off when fully charged.
• View operating instructions = Long press the button and the screen will display instructions. Short press to scroll through.
• Change animation theme = Press the button twice and short press to scroll through the 3 screen options
• Adjust output = Press the button 3 times until the output value flashes. Short press to increase the output. When the maximum output is displayed the next press will drop back to the lowest output and you can keep adjusting. Once the value on screen is the power you require simply leave the mod and the value will stop flashing or inhale on the mouthpiece.
• Puff counter reset = Press the button 7 times to reset the puff counter
• Adjust airflow = move the slide switch on the side of the mod to increase / decrease the incoming airflow to your preference.

OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Protections

• Low battery – The Red light will flash 10 times and the device will cut out until recharged.
• Short circuit / too low resistance – The Red light will flash 3 times. Clean pod and device connectors, or replace pod. If fault persists there may be an issue with the device itself.
• High temperature – The Red light will flash 5 times and the device will stop working until it has cooled down.
• Over time – if you vape for longer than 8 seconds the Blue light will flash 3 times and the fire will cut out. You can continue vaping by inhaling again.

How To Charge The Battery

The charging rate is specified as 2A.

• Using the included USB type C cable, connect the small end into the USB port on the mod.
• Connect the large end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet.
• The indicator light will pulse and go through the different colours (Red, Orange, Blue and then Green) to denote charge stage and will turn off when fully charged.

The charging time for me using a mains plug was around 52 minutes.

How To Fill the OXVA Xlim Top Fill Pod

• You don’t need to remove the pod to refill. I removed it to make it easier to take a photo!
• Lift up the cover of the fill port and add e-liquid through the port.
• Watch the e-liquid level through the clear side of the pod.
• Replace the fill port cover firmly.
• If this is the first fill allow the pod to stand for 10-15 mins to allow the e-liquid to soak into the coil. This is called Priming and is a very important step. If not fully primed you could burn the coil out and your throat lining in the process!

How Does the OXVA Xlim Pro 2 Perform?

I used my own e-liquid mix which is 50/50 PG/VG made from IVG Bubblegum Concentrate at 20% ratio. This is quite high a flavour ratio as I prefer plenty of flavour, but sadly this means it can be a coil killer sometimes. But the OXVA Xlim pods usually have no issues at all with it.

I add nic salt to approx 6mg strength.

OXVA Xlim 0.6ohm Pod

This is the more “fierce” of the two supplied pods and the device will automatically set the output to 22W.

You get a very warm vape which is uncomfortable with the airflow at anything less than fully open. So I would recommend wanging the airflow right open for this pod.

I felt a great throat hit with my 6mg nic salt strength so anything higher than that might be a bit harsh.

The power limits for this pod are 20-25W. For me 22W is high enough and I was almost tempted to knock it down slightly.

If the output feels a bit too strong you can of course knock down the power but don’t go below 20W or you run the risk of the e-liquid not fully vaporising and causing spitting and e-liquid coming back up through the mouthpiece.

This is 10/10 for flavour all day long!

OXVA Xlim 0.8ohm Pod

I love it!

I use this pod every single day on all my OXVA kits and I regularly get over 5000 puffs before the performance dies off.

So far I am at 1200 puffs and the flavour is still incredible – I will update how many puffs I get before I decide to change the pod!

The flavour at 16W (which is the automatic setting of the mod) is just perfection. It is warm but not hot meaning it brings out all the beautiful flavours of your e-liquid.

You can drop the output down if you want but again do not go below 12W or above 16W if you can help it as they are the recommended power limits.

This is 10/10 for flavour for me and I buy these pods regularly myself – so if that is not a thorough endorsement – I don’t know what is!

I test many many pod kits for Ecigclick and the 0.8ohm Xlim Pods are always the top of my list for performance. I have found nothing that beats them

Airflow

I use a rating system for airflow – 0= fully closed and 10= like breathing unrestricted fresh air!

The airflow to me is the same as the OXVA Xlim Go for the both 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods ranging from 1 (fully closed) to 4.5 (fully open).

Therefore this is capable of everything from a tight MTL airflow up to a restricted direct lung airflow.

Leaks?

Not a drop or a dribble at all from either pod! The top fill V3 port design eliminates the leak from the fill port you sometimes get on the V2 pods.

However on previous kits with the same pod I have had a bit of an issue with leaking.

With the pods included in this kit I had no leaks at all so hopefully there has been an upgrade. But I buy replacement pods a lot and some of those still have this problem.

I think this issue is caused when filling. If you push the nozzle into the fill port and aim the e-liquid at the coil I am sure it forces e-liquid back through the coil to cause the leak.

So my advice is to angle the nozzle away from the coil and make sure there is a gap in the fill port for any air to escape. Also add e-liquid slowly to avoid a jet of liquid pushing through the coil.

If you get a “gurgle” after filling, remove the pod, wrap in a tissue and blow through it to clear any sign of leaks.

If you have had a leak also put some tissue in the pod compartment of the mod and blow through the airflow inlet to clear any e-liquid inside the device.

Mod Performance

This performed perfectly with very quick auto draw firing.

As usual there was a slight tail off in performance for the last few puffs before the low battery warning was displayed. This is perfectly normal and only affected the last 3 or 4 puffs which is great performance.

Comparing the output with other OXVA Xlim kits, the 22W and 16W output levels I used felt realistic.

Battery Life

This will always rely on your own vaping habits and the pod selected. I am a very heavy vaper so this must be considered. For a guide these are my timings…

With the 0.8ohm pod I got around 8 to 8.5 hours and between 250-300 puffs per charge (approx 10ml of e-liquid – 5 refills).

With the 0.6ohm pod I got around 8 to 8.5 hours again and roughly 250 puffs (8ml of e-liquid – 4 refills) to one charge.

Pros

• Full of excellent features
• Amazing pod life – I regularly get over 5000 puffs
• Compatible with V2, V3 and pre-filled Xlim Pods
• If you hold down the operation button you will see a guide to main operations
• Incredible flavour
• Beautiful display and animations
• Adjustable airflow which caters for those who like a tight MTL up to an RDL style vape
• Increased battery capacity
• Quick charging at only around 50 minutes for 1300mAh battery!

Cons

• The pod resistance is etched into the pod base and is extremely hard to see.
• Cannot lock the operation button. It is not a fire button so no risk from that but you could knock your settings if device is in bag or pocket

Final Review Verdict

Again OXVA have knocked out an absolute corker!

This has taken all the good bits from the previous Xlim devices and added a super clear screen and a bigger battery.

The build quality is excellent and it is a stunning looking device.

But it is not all “aesthetics” as this has the same excellent performance as its predecessors and is compatible with the pods from the Xlim range too.

Is this worth buying? Well yes and no for me.

If you already have the Xlim Pro and it is working great then I would suggest that the Xlim Pro 2 does not really offer any difference in performance. But if you want the clearer display and bigger battery – then of course go for it.

If you are new to vaping or transitioning from a disposable vape this is a great place to start. However if you are not that technically minded I would suggest going for the much simpler and less expensive Xlim Go.

But if you like to be able to customise your vape you should definitely pick up one of these. It is one of the best pod vapes on the market today and you won’t be disappointed!

I usually add a rating for “Value for money” but sadly I am not seeing this stocked online yet – it is pre-order – so I have no ideal of the retail price as yet.
