The Kaees Solomon Mesh RTA is the newest in the range of Solomon tanks.

So far we have had the original Solomon RTA, then the Solomon 2 and even Solomon 3!

What To Expect From The Kaees Solomon Mesh RTA…

The name gives away the difference in this tank – it is a rebuildable RTA for use with Mesh heating elements.

Now the Kaees website is pretty bare with info and images – so I have had to scour the internet a bit to find the few bits of info I can!

The only official image of the deck I have seen was on a vendor site – see below!

solomon mesh deck

As you can see the deck is designed for a single mesh strip – you get 4 mesh strips in the kit – but the resistance isn’t specified or the size.

It looks like there are clamps at either side of the deck secured with screws.

I did find a post on Facebook which is from Jay@Kaees.com so hopefully these are true pictures of the Solomon Mesh RTA…

Below the mesh from what I can see are some large honeycomb air outlets.

The airflow enters the top of the RTA – which tends to leak less than bottom airflow inlets. The airflow is adjustable too by rotating the top cap.

solomon mesh silver

The standard capacity with the straight glass is 3.5ml but you also get a 6.5ml bubble glass in the kit. If this is going to be available in TPD regulated areas you might see the capacity reduced to 2ml.

The drip tip is an 810 fitting but you do get a 510 drip tip adaptor in the kit.

There appears to be 2 colours to choose from: Black and Stainless Steel.

The KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA is a small single coil tank which, as the name suggests, is designed for mouth to lung vapers.

KAEES have a pretty solid track record of rebuildable tanks with the recently reviewed Stacked RTA receiving a decent score – the Aladdin RDA which our ‘Shell loved – the original Solomon RTA, which I enjoyed and the Solomon 2 RTA, which I reviewed and really didn’t like at all!

kaees aladdin mtl rta review

As a regular MTL vaper, let’s see if this one has answered all my MTL wishes.

What Can We Expect From the KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA?

Hopefully a flavourful smooth vape with great flavour and decent throat hit – we shall see.

What we have got is a single coil RTA with a 2 or 4 ml capacity and a 22mm base – with of course, the elephant in the room – that domed top cap!

That’s a design feature that’s going to be Marmite to most – you’ll love it or hate it.

OK we’ve set the scene now let me shine my magical reviewers lamp on this one and rub one out…a review I mean…Jeez you lot have dirty minds šŸ˜‰

For the record this was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review – thank you – and as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Inside the Box

Pity it didn’t come in a magic lamp shaped container but hey ho at least the image show’s what the designers were aiming for:

kaees aladdin mtl rta box

  • 1 x ALADDIN MTL RTA
  • 1 x Spare Glass Tube
  • 1 x Screwdriver
  • 1 x User Manual
  • 1 x Spare Parts

KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA Specs

  • Single coil
  • 53.7 x 22mm
  • 2ml and 4ml capacity
  • 510 drip tip

kaees aladdin mtl rta components

Key Features

This is obviously designed for low wattage mouth to lung users [MTL] and is a single coil RTA.

The deck features clamp like posts and you will need to use the included tool to open the hex screws as they are recessed – unless of course you have one small and long enough.

kaees aladdin mtl rta deck

The straight glass gives you a 2ml capacity – whilst the bubble glass doubles that to 4ml and it appears to be included wherever you are in the world.

It’s a top fill with x2 kidney shaped fill ports underneath the bulbous top cap which is a bayonet style twist off design.

kaees aladdin mtl rta filling

There’s plenty of airflow options too, with either: reducing in size single holes or all of the holes exposed cyclops style that you can adjust to your preferred setting.

I mentioned the bulbous top cap – so lets see what that’s all about.

Design and Build Quality

Opening the box I immediately thought they’d popped an Aspire Nautilus 2S inside by mistake – the do look uncannily similar – design wise anyway.

kaees alddin mtl rta vs nautilus 2s
kaees aladdin mtl rta – nautilus 2s

The top cap is more conical than domed – think half way up the inside of a witch’s hat.

Given the name Aladdin and the shape of the ‘dome’ it’s obvious to see the designers were going for a minaret look – that beautiful cap you see on many mosques around the world.

Design wise you’re gonna love it or hate it!

With the bubble glass on it does look a little top heavy and maybe a bit strange.

kaees aladdin mtl rta bubble glass

The straight glass calms down the bulb/dome a little and anyone who likes the Nautilus 2S tank will like the look of this one.

kaees aladdin mtl rta straight glass

Like the rest of the RTA the top cap is made from food grade 304 stainless steel and is extremely heavy – it’s hewn from a solid piece of metal let’s put it that way.

Build quality is very good indeed, with all the moving parts fitting together nicely, and all with a good finish – the inside of the ‘dome’ is particularly well finished.

Saying that, the airflow adjustment ring is extremely loose and slides off whenever your try to open up to get to the base.

As well as that, it can be an absolute sod to alter the airflow whilst the tank is on top of a mod – I’ve had to completely remove it most times.

How Does the KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA Perform?

Let’s break this down to building and wicking and then the flavour test.

Building the KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA

About as simple as things get – even for this old fingers and thumbs bloke kind of.

There’s no coil or cotton inside the box which I guess has helped keep the price down – still a bit stingy though lol.

I used a simple coil [I eventually found in my old Digiflavor Siren 2 box – no wire left lol] with a resistance of 0.98 ohm and wicked with simple Muji cotton – I tend to use that in MTL tanks.

OK popping the coil in is easy enough – however those recessed hex screws are a long way in and are tiny making it tricky to get the very thin tool to bite.

kaees aladdin mtl rta coiled

Once tightened make sure you snip off the excess legs tight to the side to avoid any shorts. Again the design means you have to fiddle about a bit to get the tip of the snips flush.

I had the coil slightly raised above the airflow hole and obviously dead centre – to these tired old eyes any way.

Wicking the KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA

Straightforward enough, especially given this is a raised almost genesis style deck.

The wicking ports are small which immediately tells you when it comes to the cotton – less is more.

trim wicks

I snipped with the scissors flush against the tank and that’s bang on the length you need.

Don’t stuff the holes, simply tease the cotton when damp with juice and let them fall or rest over them – easy.

kaees aladdin mtl rta wicking

Vaping On the KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA

I used a 50/50 PG and VG flavoured tobacco by Decadent Vapours – from their short fill shake ‘n vape range- a juice I’ve used for years.

I popped the RTA on top of the Jac Vapour DNA 75 Sandstorm edition for a bit of ‘matchy matchy’ and began vaping at 19.5w with the cyclops style ‘all holes showing’ airflow wide open.

kaees aladdin mtl rta open airflow

Wide open and on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being as airy as a cow after eating curry flavoured grass, I’d say this was an 8 to 8.5 – a little airy maybe for most but I do like a less restricted MTL vape.

The vapour was warm and plentiful with a real smoothness and just a touch noisy.

How’s the Flavour Off the KAEES Aladdin MTL RTA?

Flavour Wise the first few hits were pretty good but came to life when I bumped up the wattage to 23w – then the flavour popped and things got a whole lot better.

One thing I did notice and that’s I got a very different flavour off my regular tobacco e-liquid.

Off most tanks and RDAs I use, the sweetness really comes through – on the KAEES Aladdin – it was more the dryer earthiness rather than the sweetness which lingered on the back note – quite a pleasant change!

I definitely beats the Vandy Vape Berserker RTA 1.5 IMHO, by quite some way.

Half closed and things got warmer with the flavour a tad more intense but not significantly so.

Swapping to the gradual hole style airflow and on the smallest size I really had to suck hard – that is VERY tight!

Even the largest single hole was on the too tight side for my style of MTL vaping, so true mouth to lungers will really enjoy this one.

rta wicking
wicks well!

Wide open and nope you really can’t get even the most restricted lung hit – so yeah this is most definitely for the MTL’ers out there.

It might be my e-liquid, however I really am getting a decent throat hit off this one – even with the airflow wide-open, so if that’s you thing this hits the spot.

Pros

  • Competitive price
  • Nice build quality and materials
  • Good flavour
  • Decent vapour for an MTL RTA
  • 2ml or 4ml glass included
  • Easy build – though those hex screw holes are deep!
  • Dead simple to wick
  • Easy fill

Cons

  • Airflow ring comes off far to easily
  • Tricky to alter airflow when on a mod
  • Hex screws can be tricky to line up with the tool
  • No coils or cotton inside the box
  • A ‘little’ noisy

Final Review Verdict

Apart from a couple of niggly points – the airflow ring and those recessed hex screws, I quite like this one – yeah even the minaret top cap.

The shape might not be for everyone, but I’m easy and it does make it stand out from the crowd.

I have to say it also fits nicely against your lips – “that’s what she said!

It does look a lot better with the straight glass on and trust me at low wattage the 2ml tank will last us ‘normal vapers’ past midday – those that chain vape might need to swap it out for the 4ml.

Speaking of chain vaping, it wicks very well indeed and I tried 8 deep pulls and it kept up beautifully – that’s with a 50:50 VG/PG juice.

I did try one fill of a Puris from Twelve Monkeys – a 70/30 mix and yeah this little guy kept up with no issues or even threat of dry hits so wick it right and all is good.

Whilst I wouldn’t call the flavour ‘exceptional’ it’s certainly on the better side of good and is a smooth vape with a decent throat tickle – can be a little noisy though.

There might be a thousand and one [think about it!] other MTL tanks and rebuildables out there with many of the most popular eye-wateringly expensive and classed as high end and this one keeps up impressively.

Whilst not a truly magical vape – and if you can get past the design – for a mass market MTL RTA this is indeed all you could wish for.

Have you used the Aladdin MTL RTA? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

The Kaees Solomon 3 RTA is a new generation of the Solomon family!solomon 3 posterAt EcigClick we have reviewed both of its parents the Solomon RTA and the Solomon 2 RTA. The original scored well in review but the 2nd generation didn’t quite match up.solomon rta family

So what will the Solomon off-spring have to offer?

The main downfalls in our review of the Solomon 2 RTA were the excessive airflow and the fact the deck was only for single coil builds.solomon 3 airflow caps

I can’t comment on the airflow but they have taken steps to rectify this. In the kit you get 2 internal airflow caps which you can swap to tailor the airflow more to your preference.solomon 3 promo pics

And yep this time you can use single or dual coil builds wehay!solomon 3 deck

The deck is a postless design with side mounted clamp screws which look like they are well aligned as to not crush flat style coils.solomon 3 photos deck

The airflow is a top inlet setup and in addition to the internal caps you can also adjust the airflow with the top ring. Top airflow can help to reduce the chance of e-liquid leaking through the airflow inlets.solomon 3 black

It appears to be a top fill – but no details of that and come on it is 2019 – I doubt a bottom fill tank would be just released – however you never know!

There are 3 colours available – Black, Stainless and Blue.solomon 3 colours

Kit Includes

  • Kaees Solomon 3 RTA
  • 2 x Internal Airflow Caps
  • Spare Glass Tube
  • 2 x Clapton coil
  • 510 Drip Tip Adapter
  • Screwdriver
  • User Manual
  • Spare Parts

Kaees Solomon 3 RTAĀ Specs

  • Size: 25×49.8mm
  • E-liquid capacity: 5.5ml (bubble glass) / 3.5ml
  • Interchangeable internal airflow caps
  • Single / dual coil postless deck
  • Material: 304 stainless steel
  • 810 and 510 drip tip adaptors
  • Locking top fill cap
  • Top adjustable airflow – reduces chances of leaks

Well on first glances it looks like Kaees have addressed some of the criticism of the Solomon 2.

Today we are going to take an up and close look at the highly anticipated (by this reviewer anyway!) The Stacked RTA! What do we think of it?

The Kaees Stacked RTA was sent to us for the purpose of this review. As always my thoughts and views are my own.

A Basic Guide to Coiling/Wicking

No need to empty this RTA when changing coils or cotton, turn upside down and unscrew the base from the main structure.

  • Decide which glass is right for you (straight or bubble)
  • Insert your coils as though this was a velocity style deckKaees TB Stacked RDA coils in
  • Insert your cottonKaees TB Stacked RDA cott in
  • Tuck the tails into the wick holes
  • Pre wick your coils/cotton with e-liquid
  • Reassemble the RTA
  • Close off the AF
  • Remove the top cap and fill the tank with e-liquidKaees TB Stacked RDA fill

Place the RTA on your desired mod, leave for a few minutes for the cotton to soak up more liquid before firstĀ fire.

Tips – I cut the coil legs at 4.5mm using my Coily Tool and pull the coil out so it is directly over the internal AF.

If you decide to use the 510 DT adaptor removal can be a pain! I find it easiest to use a screwdriver through the reverse side of the top cap to push the adaptor back out.

A word about coiling

Treat this deck like you would a velocity style deck! As you unscrew the clamps you will notice both will raise, place the first coil tail under the first clamp so it’s resting on the resin bar, place the secondĀ tail under the resin bar and make sure it is resting on the SS bar at the bottom.

Repeat for your second coil then clamp down your screws holding the coils in place.

How Does The Kaees Stacked RTA Perform?

For this review I have installed homemade dual 0.15Ω flat 24g SS316 coils, and filled the tank with a well steeped Dr Frost’s Remedy e-liquid (it tastes a bit like Calpol lol).

I’ve put the Stacked RTA on my Vaporesso Polar .Kaees TB Stacked RDA on mod

30w

With the airflow open 1/8 and using a Mouth to Lung style of vape, the AF was tight with a good flavour the vapour production was fair and quite warm, opening the AF up to a ¼ open keeping the wattage to 30w the AF was just right for a Direct to Lung draw.

The vapour quality was great and the flavour was good the warmth of the draw was to cool for me.Kaees TB Stacked RDA toot

50w

With the AF open to half the vape was warm the vapour production was cloudy with a good flavour, opening the AF completely and keeping the wattage to 50w the draw was very loose with fair flavour a good warmth and the vapour production was amazing, so cloudy!Kaees TB Stacked RDA close

Higher wattages

80/90/100w – As I pumped up the wattage the vapour production increased with fair flavour the heat of the vape in turn increased; by the time I reached 100w my poor old micro lungs were suffering lol. The tank body does get hot at higher wattage which I expected.

My ideal wattage for this tank with 0.15Ω coils is 65/75w.Kaees TB Stacked RDA test vape

Flavour Production

While the flavour at lower and medium wattage is good, at higher watts I’d say it’s fair, although I wouldn’t call the overall flavour stellar I have had better from other RTA’s.

Other Comments

The clamp structure is stable but as I said earlier has a wee bit of movement to it, whether this is by design or not it feels to me like one heavy handed push would break the structure.

The airflow (AF) ring is tight to turn while on the mod and quite stiff overall, however, I solved by smearing a little e-liquid on the O ring under the AF ring.Kaees TB Stacked RDA af on

I have been using the Kaees Sacked RTA for almost 2 weeks as I write this review, the only leak I have had from the tank in this time was due to my forgetting to close off the bottom AF before filling!

I do suggest using plenty of cotton in the wick holes but don’t over stuff them!

There is no mention of what material the 2 coils they send out with this kit so I have not used them as I suspect they are Ni80.Kaees TB Stacked RDA sup coils

Pros

  • Good vapour production
  • Fair flavour
  • Fair design
  • Good quality
  • Very easy to build on

Cons

  • Included coil material
  • Flavour could be better
  • Care with the clamp structure
  • Very stiff AF ring

Final Review Verdict

I can see where Tony B and Kaees were headed with the Stacked RTA and give them credit for trying a slightly different take on an established design. Velocity decks have always been my favourite deck to build upon they are so kind to my arthritic hands LOL, hence the reason I’d give a thumbs up for this RTA to those who want to try building for the first time.

Would I buy the Kaees Stacked RTA again due to loss or damage? Yes.

Being a massive fan of the original I was very interested in reviewing the new Kaees Solomon 2 RTA.kaees solomon 2 rta review

The former was a dual coiler with bottom airflow and the option of popping just one in – whilst the Solomon 2 is specifically made for single coils.

So Has Kaees Improved On The Original, Awesome Solomon RTA?

It’s a 24mm top fill and top airflow design and the designers have pretty much started from scratch as there’s more than a few changes compared to the previous Solomon RTA which I absolutely adored.

Kaees have been around for a little over a year now and have on the whole had their small stable of devices well received including the Aladdin RDA which got a thumbs up from our Michelle .

So has the Solomon 2 RTA got this Leo roaring with pleasure or growling with grumpiness and is it indeed fit to be called the king of the vapes?

Let’s take a closer look.

This was sent to me free of charge for the purpose of this review and as always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Key Features

This is a leak proof single coil adjustable top airflow RTA with a raised Genesis style gold plated deck.

It features a staggered two post deck with ā€˜open ended’ post holes making for as simple a build as you could wish for.

solomon 2 rta deck

It’s an easy top fill – simply unscrew the cap and fill via the two comparatively small kidney shaped ports using either the 5ml bubble glass or the 3.5ml spare glass tank.

Design and Build Quality

There’s some major design changes from the original Kaees Solomon RTA which I’ll get onto in a moment so first build quality.

Overall it’s not bad at all with decent enough threads and a nice resistance to the airflow control.

solomon 2 rta review

However the inside of the barrel chamber is a little ragged to look at not that you can see it whilst vaping!

OK onto the design and first up what’s that gold band all about???

Obviously it’s for adjusting the airflow – but a gold band on black you can kind of get away with – kind of – but it’s the same colour on the stainless steel version – a bit of an eyesore IMHO.

gold band

The most obvious change in design is making this a single coil RTA – the previous being specifically a dual with the option of a single and of course switching from bottom to top airflow.

The design of the deck is actually very good indeed and it is one of the easiest to build and wick on I’ve ever used – one of the best RTA’s for beginners to building especially with those open post holes.

solomon 2 chamber

The chamber is flat and I mean extremely flat not a sign of even the slightest bit of doming which isn’t going to help the flavour particularly as this is both top airflow and a single coil.

Indeed the size of the airflow hole in the barrel is huge and it needs to be given the raised airflow arm – or air blade as they call it – on the deck has to slot in when you’re putting it all back together.

Incidentally the two air slots on that ‘blade’ are massive as well – there’s an awful lot of air going onto that single coil.

Kaees has also changed the Solomon logo – gone is the outline of a lions eyes – nose and mouth replaced with a lions head wearing a crown.

As to whether this justifies being the king of the vapes given it’s a single coil RTA jungle out there let’s look at now.

How Does the Kaees Solomon 2 RTA Perform?

As I’ve already stated – building and wicking on this is as simple as it gets so no issues there whatsoever.

solomon 2 rta build wick

Popping the deck back into the chamber can be tricky if you don’t line up the airflow arm with the hole at the top and it can take a little bit of wiggling until it connects with a satisfying click.

I began with the included coil reading at 0.23ohms leaving the cotton tails fluffed and barely through the juice ports – another case of less is more.

50W

Airflow wide open at 50w and as you might expect from a single coil with this much air the flavour was a little washed out and it was a very cool vape.

67W

Half closed at 67w and things got a little better with a slightly better flavour and denser clouds.

75W

Bumped up to 75w and the first hint of a burning taste – so using the coil out of the box at higher wattage even with the airflow wide open is a no no on my build anyway.

Trying a Different Build In the Solomon 2 RTA

Popping in an Alien coil reading 0.14ohms at 75w – again airflow half open – and things got a lot better with a much warmer vape – better flavour and great clouds.

I managed to get that build up to 87w before things got a little burnt tasting and found my sweet spot at 77w.

BTW I ran a fill using the 3.5ml capacity glass and it made little if any difference to the flavour.

cylon solomon 2 rta

So based on that for me the Kaees Solomon 2 RTA is a bit of a let-down compared to the original which I absolutely loved and still use to this day.

Why they’ve gone with a single coil set-up with that much airflow – especially from the top – is a bit of a mystery to me.

Unless you close it almost fully off the flavour is simply washed away no matter what build I’ve put in it and that really saddens me given the original absolutely popped the flavour.

Pros

  • Easy build deck
  • Wicks well
  • Decent build quality
  • Choice of drip tips
  • Good clouds
  • Choice of silver or black

Cons

  • Huge amount of air
  • Hard work to get right build and flavour
  • That hideous gold band
  • Quite noisy

Final Review Verdict

It’s a bit like the ā€˜difficult second album’ pop singers are faced with in the case of this RTA I’m afraid – a case of never quite as good as the breakthrough release…

The original Solomon RTA was bloody brilliant however Kaees has taken a backward step IMHO in both performance and design.

solomon 1 vs 2
Solomon 1 next to Solomon 2 RTA

By design I don’t just mean that awful gold band – but the fact it’s so full of air it almost floats and it’s a single coil for goodness sake!

Those two negatives alone mean instinct tells you unless you really fiddle about with builds and airflow settings the vape isn’t going to flavourful.

Maybe even the slightest bit of doming in the barrel might have lifted the taste a wee bit but trust me its flatter than a flat earthers map.

And why they’ve gone for top airflow instead of sticking with the original’s bottom feed is a weird one.

Maybe they’re looking as the key feature of this being leak proof?

Personally in this case and given most builders are getting better the risk of over wicking leading to leakage is a small sacrifice to the flavour Gods?

It’s such a shame because the deck is solid and a breeze [more air?!?] to build on and apart from that awful gold band it looks pretty sweet too.

I know this is only vaping but I’m very disappointed with this one as I was hoping the designers would have not only gone for another dual coiler – but kept the bottom airflow and improved on the original which is an outstanding RTA.

Yes I know some and I say some single coil RTAs are absolute flavour machines – I use the Geekvape Ammit 25mm RTA for instance which for a big tank gives great flavour – though it is bottom airflow…says it all really…

A closer match in comparison would be the original Geekvape Zeus RTA again a big single coil tank with top airflow but easily beating this one in the flavour stakes and that’s hardly a flavour machine!

Sadly the Kaees Solomon 2 RTA is nowhere near good enough to make it into my top ten let alone rotation.

Damn shame…

I have got my grubby hands on the lovely little Kaees Aladdin RDA – kindly sent to me for review by Naturevape.

Our reviewer Neil loved the Kaees Solomon RTA and said it was probably one of the best RTA’s he had tried.

Kaees Aladdin RDA Marketing ImageThis is a 24mm diameter RDA which comes with a great little kit including a Ni80 coil – so apart from E-liquid there is everything needed to get you started.

The Aladdin features 3 air inlets, a 24k gold plated build deck and a standard and a bottom feed Squonking 510 connector.

Aladdin Airflow designThe Aladdin is made from Stainless steel with 3 finishes available – Black, Stainless steel and Rainbow

What’s In The Box

  • Kaees Aladdin RDA tank
  • RDA coil (0.2ohm Ni80)
  • User manual
  • Parts bag (Screwdriver, Hexagon socket screw and O-ring)

Just a note – there is no photo of the packaging as I was sent a sample for review which was unpackaged.

Kaees aladdin kit contents

Features

  • Triple air flow system
  • Protruding positive pin for safety with hybrid mech mod
  • Bottom feed pin included
  • 510 Drip tip
  • 24mm Diameter, 33mm Height.
  • 24K gold plating deck platform
  • Can be disassembled for cleaning

Build Quality & Design

I was supplied the Rainbow version of the Kaees Aladdin RDA to review.

The body is made from stainless steel with a beautiful rainbow finish. The familiar lion face logo is present too.

The build deck is 24K gold plated with plenty of room for liquid, wicks and coils and a very clever slot in coil design.

Kaees Aladdin RDA Build DeckThere is a wide bore Ultem/PEI drip tip which personally I really dislike. This is the only con with the design for me – but that is purely personal opinion as I dislike the discoloured yellow appearance of this material.

Kaees Aladdin componentsThe top sleeve fits on snugly – that snugly that you can’t pull it off unless you screw the tank to a mod – then it pulls off fine. This is all good though as it means the O-ring seals are doing their job and a tighter fit = less chance of leaks.

It is a beautiful looking tank (if you ignore the drip tip) and the finish and build quality appears to be wonderful.

Aladdin viewAnother feature is there is a protruding 510 centre connection – this is mainly for use with hybrid mods. This reduces the likelihood of a short between the centre and outer part of the 510 connector.

A lovely fitting kit is included – plenty of O-rings, spare deck screws, a coil to get you started, a screwdriver and the Squonking 510 converter.

I haven’t got a squonk mod at the moment so was only able to test it as a dripper tank.

On A Mod

I used the Aladdin on my Wismec Sinuous Ravage230 mod. This has a central 510 connector and is big enough to accommodate a 24mm tank.

How Does the Kaees Aladdin RDA Perform?

Set-Up

I used the supplied Ni80 0.2ohm coil withĀ Muji Cotton as my wicking material.

I also tried a SS316L 0.48 ohm fused Clapton coil – just for a play really!

For a guide to setting up an RDA deck have a look at our dedicated page here.

The E-liquid of choice is a 80%VG e-liquid that I love – and find it easy to see how it performs between devices.

For information about the VG and PG in E-liquid read here.

The flavour, vapour and throat hit will all vary between different coil builds, resistances, materials plus wicking and E-liquid can alter the performance.

Coil Installation Tips

To help with building this beauty – the guys at Naturevape have even put together a video to show you! I followed this to the letter and hence got a lovely vape from it. If you are unsure follow the video below you won’t go far wrong!

The build deck on this is very clever.
Aladdin coil installed

It isn’t obvious to start with but there are cut outs under the screws so you just slacken the screws and the coil ends simply slot straight under – very very clever.

Aladdin build deck slotsYou only need enough cotton to go through the coil smoothly however you can leave the ends quite long in this as there is a good juice well at the bottom.

How To Add E-Liquid

The top sleeve needs to be removed to add your e-liquid.

This is quite tight to remove – so I would say screw it onto a mod or resistance tester and then simply pull the top sleeve off – much easier as there isn’t much to grip on the base of the tank.

How To Adjust The AirflowĀ

There are 3 air inlets on this.

  1. Bottom air inlet
  2. Middle air inlet
  3. Top air inlet

aladdin airflow positions

  • The bottom air inlet is permanently open.
  • The middle air inlet is adjusted by lining up the cut outs in the side of the top sleeve with the cut outs in the build deck. Rotating the top sleeve will allow you to restrict the air coming in.
  • There is also a top airflow inlet. If you remove the drip tip and the top cap you will see cut outs on the top of the sleeve and the top cap. By aligning these and then turning you can adjust the top airflow.

Kaees aladdin rainbow viewsI found for me the top airflow fully open with the side airflow almost closed gave me the best flavour – however there isn’t as much vapour in this setting.

0.2 ohm Ni80 Coil (Supplied)

Aladdin coil and wicking installedI first tried this at 40W and not much flavour but wow a lot of vapour!

At 60W this came alive – the flavour is just amazing – beautiful.

Not massively hot, no spitting just really smooth and full of flavour – even with my rubbish building skills!

At 70W a lot hotter and a slight spit now – but again plenty of flavour.

At 80W more of the same – but getting a harsher vapour and taste now.

This lion really purrs at 60W for me -obviously everyone is different but I could use this all day at 60W happily!

I loved this coil so much I spoke to Mark at Naturevape to see if they would be stocking them – and guess what – they have these exact coils from Kaees on order.

So when they arrive I will be ordering some! I haven’t always got on with Ni80 before but these coils blew my SS coil out of the water when I compared them in the Aladdin at the same wattage! You can use these coils in other tanks too so I am going to grab a few!

0.48 ohm SS316L Fused Clapton Coil

Just for the sake of it whilst my vaping toolbox was open I chucked on one of my favourite coils the SS316L.

Aladdin with SS316 coilThis performed pretty much the same as the Ni80 supplied coil – nothing much happened until 60W.

At 70W this was a lot hotter than the Ni80 coil but not as much flavour.

But this still works fine on the Aladdin!

What I Like

The build deck with the cut outs for the coil legs just makes everything easier.

The RDA looks beautiful and I’ve found the build quality excellent!

What I Dislike

Hard to see what position the top air flow adjustment is in.

I really do not like PEI/Ultem.

Final Review Verdict

Initially you may be slightly disappointed with the Kaees Aladdin RDA if you haven’t got the airflow settings correct.

So make sure to keep playing with the settings – do not write this off initially as the slightest adjustment makes a massive difference to the taste and vapour – honestly!

When you set up the airflow to your preference you will be very happy with your purchase.

I found I got about 10 vapes before needing to re-juice.

Pros

  • Stunning looking tank.
  • Deep juice wells mean you are adding liquid a lot less often.
  • Easy build deck – I am no expert but managed to do a simple single coil build with a lovely flavour.
  • Great kit contents.
  • Airflow works wonderfully and the slightest tweak makes a huge difference.
  • The taste and vapour from this is amazing.
  • Supplied coil was excellent too – which is rare – Naturevape will be stocking this coil to buy on its own too!

Cons

  • The top airflow design is basically under the top cap – so you can’t actually see what position it is in until you remove the cap.
  • I am not a fan of Ultem/PEI as I think this is a stunning tank which would look prettier with a resin or even frosted drip tip – but easily changed!

Kaees are a relatively new company on the vaping scene and one to be honest I’d only vaguely heard of.

The Solomon RTA is the latest release in line of tanks – firstly the Landmark 2 a kind of Kayfun look-a-like quickly followed by the Vane and the Pacer all of which were well – if a little quietly – received.

The Solomon RTA doesn’t bring anything new to the RTA party however it’s certainly a good looking tank suggestive of a prettier sister of the Wotofo Troll RTA.

KAEES-SOLOmon

So given the market is swamped with RTAs these days – and I have a few of them lol – how does this one stack up against the competition?

And given it has a lion logo on the chimney has this become the pride of my RTA collection?

Let’s take a closer look.

As always my thoughts and opinions are my own.

Inside the Box

A basic no frills box and inside you’ll find:

  • 1 x SOLOMON
  • 1 x RTA coil
  • 1 x Glass
  • 2 x 0.2 ohm clapton fuse
  • 1 x User manual
  • 1 x parts bag ( Screwdriver+Japanese cotton + O ring)

Kaees Solomon RTA Specs

  • Size: 46mm x 24mm
  • Capacity: 4ml
  • Material: 304 SS + Pyrex glass
  • Thread: 510

contents

Key Features

This is a good looking 24mm diameter 4ml capacity RTA that could also be described as a GTA – Genesis Tank Atomizer given the deck is slightly raised above the ā€˜juice well’.

But for the purpose of this review we’ll stick to calling it a RTA!

kaees solomon rta

Its’ specifically set-up as a dual coil – I have tried popping a single coil in and whilst it is kind of possible you certainly don’t get the best out of this RTA.

The Kaees Solomon has dual Cyclops bottom airflow that is adjustable and even two weeks of constant use moving it is hard as it’s extremely stiff.

solomon rta

However it is a rather long airflow ā€˜slot’ [10mm] meaning you really can tailor the exact amount of air you want to get to your coils.

The gold plated deck is slightly raised above the base and is a pretty standard 2 post velocity style with plenty of room for larger coils and decent sized wicking ports.

deck

It’s a simple screw off top fill and comes with a 10mm bore PEI – Delrin 510 – other 510 drip tips will fit but sadly not the Goon style 810s.

Design and Build Quality

Overall everything comes apart and fits back together very well indeed – so high marks for the build quality.

Out of the box and my first impression was this looked remarkably like the Troll RTA – a tank I finally bought back in the summer and have used pretty much every day for the past 2 months.

Unlike the Troll this one can’t really manage it single coil build – but please do try if that’s your bag – I just found the vape wasn’t anywhere near as good as in dual.

components

No innovation on the deck at all really – the old adage why change something that works springs to mind – however it is extremely easy to build and wick.

The barrel is raised above the juice ports and features a nice etching of a lion’s head – which design wise and given I’m a Leo I really like.

It’s ever so slightly domed before the vapour hits a reasonably wide chimney and is topped with a delrin 510 drip tip which feels a little odd after so many 810s recently!

Overall I have to say this is a good looking RTA – and comes in black and silver.

How Does The Kaees Solomon RTA Perform?

OK building on this is an absolute doddle with wide post holes and decent screws meaning you can wrench away to your hearts content with even the most exotic of coils.

wicked

As I’ve said it’s a top fill and wicking is an absolute cinch too – less is better here though and I found cutting the legs just above the deck and then angling them slightly before fluffing them out gave a leak free vape.

Yeah you read that right – leak free!

top fill

I have had not one leak from this nor have I had one dry hit even chain vaping – the Solomon wicks like a dream bubbling away quite happily.

However it is a bit of a drinker to say the least and I had to look more than once to check it is 4ml because after a couple of hours out and about it was running dry – so take a bottle with you!

Flavour and Clouds?

OK the coils that come with this are decent but I’ve been using a pair of staggered fused Clapton coils ohming out 0.27 and have taken the Solomon from 65watts right up to 100 watts.

It handled everything beautifully and I might piss off a few Troll fans out there – but the Solomon RTA gives a much better flavour in my opinion!

glowing

In actual fact the flavour is insane from this – absolutely spot on and I’ve been getting new levels of taste from a couple of my go to juices – wow – wow indeed this is a flavour tank!

And it can chuck out those clouds with the best of them too even at lower wattages you’ll enjoy dense satisfying plumes of sweet smelling vapour.

This is a cloudy tasty tank and one of – if not the – best RTA I’ve had the pleasure to use.

What I Like

No getting away from the fact this is flavour chaser and a cloud chasers dream RTA.

The flavour is intense and even at higher temperatures the vapour stays on the warm – not hot – side which really makes your taste buds pop!

I’m a big kid at heart so I love the cloud production too with really dense clouds literally for days.

Building and wicking on this is about as easy as it gets with generous sized post and wicking holes and they are solid posts and screws.

Despite it looking similar to the Troll RTA in design for me it looks classier and as I’ve said I love the lion logo.

solomon rta aleader funky 160

What I Don’t Like

I’m a big fan of the 810 drip tips however the 510 on this once you’ve got used to it works well and I guess the narrowness adds a little to the flavour.

Now this is just a little niggle but annoying none the less and that is the gold plated deck peeking through the barrel.

It looks to all the world to me like your juice level!

I know that sounds daft but you get a gold band around the base and even now I’m forever checking if it needs filling!

Like I said a bit of a niggle but one I have to mention as it really has become annoying lol.

Final Review Verdict

I have a number of newer and older RTAs with the Troll – the Merlin Mini and surprisingly the Ammit my current go to’s.

However since I first built and vaped on the Kaees Solomon RTA I haven’t used any of the others except when comparing the flavour and cloud production.

For me the Solomon is the best RTA I’ve ever used – hands down – even though it’s a bit of a drinker šŸ˜‰
Pros

  • Easy to build
  • Easy to wick
  • 4ml capacity – though it is thirsty
  • Nice design
  • Good airflow control
  • Great clouds
  • Excellent flavour

Cons

  • A little thirsty
  • 520 drip tip
  • Technically dual coil only
