What To Expect From The Joyetech eGo NexO

I know the name looks like I have accidentally hit Caps Lock – but that is genuinely how Joyetech are spelling it – eGo NexO !

The eGo range have been going for yonks and this is the latest rendition!

It is basically a vape pen in style but with a pod rather than a tank.

The body has a 22mm diameter and encases the 1500mAh internal battery.

A USB Type C port allows charging at up to a 1A charge rate.

Firing is manual – i.e. you press the fire button to vape.

Surrounding the fire button is an LED indicator which displays the battery charge remaining and any fault conditions.

The pod is where your e-liquid and coil live and it will hold up to 2ml of your own e-liquid. To make filling easier you don’t even have to remove the pod as it has a top fill port.

Also it has a top adjustable airflow. Bottom airflow can sometimes result in leaks through the airflow inlets, but with top airflow this is unlikely to happen.

The coils are replaceable and it is compatible with the Joyetech EN coil range which are used in the EVIO kits too. The 0.6ohm coil is included in the kit. There are also 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm coils available separately.

You can choose from 4 colours: Blue, Red, Black and Silver.

One of the main marketing features of this kit is the fact it is “More Compatible”

Which it does actually seem to be!

It can be used with the fixed coil Evio Grip pods in 0.8ohm and 0.6ohm resistances. Also you can use it with the Evio Grip cartridge which allows it to be used with replaceable coils from the EN coil range – found on other kits. On top of that there will be pre-filled pods available for those who want a sustainable alternative to a disposable vape!

There are multiple kit options where you can choose from fixed coil pods or removable coil pods included.

In standard form both pods will hold up to 2.8ml of your own e-liquid. This is reduced to 2ml for TPD regulated areas. A side fill port is provided for filling.

Inside the mod is a 900mAh battery which is charged via the USB type C cable at a 1A charge rate.

A set of LED indicator lights display the battery charge remaining and the device status.

Using this is pretty simple, with no buttons or adjustments – you just inhale on the mouthpiece and it will automatically fire.

There are 6 main colours to choose from: Blue, Purple, Red, Silver, Starlight and Black.

According to the Joyetech website there will be an optional 6 more colours available at some point : Pink, Yellow, Light Green, Silver Grey, Light Yellow and Dark Blue.

This is an update to the popular eRoll kits – we reviewed the eRoll Mac back in 2019. However the original eRoll dates back a lot further to around 2013. The eRoll C followed in around 2015/2016.

What To Expect From The Joyetech eRoll Slim…

This kit has 2 main components – the vape device and the PCC (Portable Charging Case).

The actual vape is similar to an early “cigalike” vape – those that resembled a cigarette but with a light up end. However this is a lot more advanced than that.

I will first discuss the actual device which is a very basic vape pen style.

It is draw activated, so no fiddling with buttons or adjustments – just inhale on the mouthpiece to vape.

Inside the device is a 480mAh battery.

You can charge this at a 1A charge rate via the USB Type C port on the base or simply insert it into the PCC for magnetic charging.

There is a LED on the base which will inform you of device and battery status.

This uses refillable pods (tanks) for your e-liquid and the side fill port allows you to add up to 2ml. Inside the pod is a fixed 1ohm mesh coil. You will simply discard the pod component when the coil performance deteriorates and replace with a new one.

The mouthpiece (drip tip) is replaceable and there are standard and narrow tips included in the kit to suit your preference.

Also there will be pre-filled pods available if you like the simplicity of a disposable vape.

If you purchase the full kit you will get the PCC too. It has a 1500mAh battery which you carry around to recharge the vape device.

This has a USB Type C port with a quick 2A charging rate.

Simply insert the vape into the case to charge. An LED indicator and vibration alert will inform you of charge progress.

At first glance this looks to be a typical easy to use pod kit, but there are some more great features!

Firstly my favourite feature is that you can choose from 2 types of pod.

• Fixed coil Evio Grip Pod: This contains either a 0.8ohm or 0.6ohm meshed coil (the 0.6ohm is included in the kit). Simply dispose of the pod when the coil has burnt out.
• Replaceable Evio Grip Pod Cartridge: This uses the existing EN coil range. Therefore there is less waste and expense, so it is ideal for those who are more comfortable with changing coils. You can choose from 0.6ohm (included in kit) or 0.8ohm / 1.2ohm coils (available separately).

Either pod type has a side fill port and will hold up to 2.8ml (or reduced to 2ml for TPD regulated areas) of your own e-liquid.

Now looking at the device!

It contains a 1000mAh battery which you recharge using the USB Type C port at a 1A charge rate.

The output is specified as 20W max, but I assume the device selects the correct output according to the coil / pod resistance installed.

You can adjust the airflow by sliding the lever on the side of the device.

To keep things simple this is draw activated, the device automatically fires when you inhale on the mouthpiece.

An LED indicator informs you of battery status and any faults.

If you like to use a lanyard to keep your vape close by, there is a hook on the top of the mod – no lanyard is included though!

The eGo devices have been produced since 2009! We have reviewed a few of these including the EGO AIO ECO, eGo Pod Kit and the eGo AIO 2 10th Anniversary model.

What To Expect From The Joyetech eGo AIO²…

This might start getting confusing as there has already been an eGo AIO 2 – which was the 10th Anniversary version. However this time the “2” is written like the mathematic symbol for squared – i.e. ^“2”.

This version is back to the basic design of a main body which has an inbuilt tank. You then screw the coil and top cap onto this. You cannot change the tank section as it is integrated with the battery.

Inside is a 1700mAh battery which is charged via the updated USB Type C port at a 1A charge rate. Joyetech state that charging will take just 1.5 hours.

The output is regulated to give you a constant output, but the wattage / voltage figure has not been specified.

Inside the tank window is an LED indicator which changes colour to inform you of the battery charge remaining and any fault conditions.

There are some more great updates including a top airflow adjustment, simply turn the control ring to vary the incoming airflow to suit your preference.

Unscrew the top cap to refill with up to 2ml of your own e-liquid. Also the top cap has a child lock function to keep pesky little fingers away from e-liquid.

The coil is replaceable and this is compatible with the BF coil range also found on other Joyetech eGo kits.

For this kit there is a new coil added to the range – the BFC 0.8ohm Mesh coil which promises extended coil life and less chance of leaking.

There are 4 colour options to choose from: Shiny Silver, Mysterious Black, Rich Blue and Rose Gold.

There appear to be 2 kit options – the “Simple packaging box” is missing the USB cable, which is included in the “Advanced packaging box”. Also with the Simple kit you only get 1 coil, but the Advanced kit has 2. I assume the Simple kit is the lower price.

What To Expect From The Joyetech Evio Gleam…

This is a typical Pod Kit consisting of two main components – the device (mod) and the pod (tank).

One of the first features to catch my eye was the compatibility.

This uses replaceable coils from the Joyetech EN Range. These are also compatible with the Evio C and Evio C2.

There are 3 resistances to choose from – 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm. You get two of the 0.6ohm coils included in the kit.

The pod is refillable via the easy access side fill port and will hold up to 2ml of your own e-liquid. As this has only 2ml capacity it is also TPD compliant.

Looking at the main device this is designed for RDL (Restricted Direct Lung) vapers. This is sort of in the middle of the tight airflow MTL (Mouth To Lung) vaping style and the wide open massive airflow DTL (Direct To Lung) style. We tell you more about these terms in our Guide to Vape Styles.

Joyetech have been a long standing member of the vape industry from the days of the EVIC and eGo ranges up to the more up to date EVIO and Exceed devices.

What To Expect From The Joyetech WideWick Air…

First I will mention how inexpensive this kit is! Barely more money than a disposable vape!

For this reason I am not expecting a lot of features!

This version is an update to the previous Widewick pod kit and the main differences appear to be a new pod design and updates to the appearance and size.

Firstly looking at the main device, this still has a 800mAh battery which is charged via the USB Type C port at a 0.5A charge rate. (Same charging rate as the old Micro USB connections).

The output is specified as 12W maximum which is not adjustable and the draw activation means this will be super simple to use.

The updated pods called the “Widewick Air” – contain the 1.2ohm Mesh Widewick coil but are not compatible with the previous version. When the coil performance has deteriorated you dispose of the pod section and replace with a new one – no faffing about changing coils.

Using “Widewick” technology the pods promise more efficient wicking of the e-liquid, balanced heating without Spit Back and less chance of dry hits.

To refill you remove the mouthpiece as on the previous design and the pods will hold up to 2ml of your own e-liquid.

Obviously the brand Joyetech will be familiar to most vapers! Joyetech were in the e-cigarette game from very early on with the eGo range with newer updates including the EGO AIO ECO, eGo AIO 2 and eGo Air.

What To Expect From The Joyetech eGo 510 Pod Kit?

There are two versions of this kit plus you can interchange the different pod options between the two versions.

The main device (mod) seems to be the same for both versions. The pods are where the variations occur.

Looking at the mod this has a 850mAh internal battery and is charged at up to 1A using the USB Type C port. Joyetech state that charging should be complete in around 1 hour.

There is a button to operate and a LED provides a display of the device status.

On top of the mod is a standard 510 connection which means this and the pods can be used with other compatible devices.

There are 3 pod options…

• 2ml refillable pod – this has a 0.8ohm Mesh coil, a top child lock filling system and a large air inlet to provide a Restricted Direct to Lung vape. We tell you what this means in our Guide to Vape Styles.
• 2ml pre-filled pod – this is for retail in TPD regulated areas. This comes pre-filled with 2ml of e-liquid, the VG/PG and nic strength are not mentioned. A 0.7ohm dual mesh coil provides the heating element. Apparently will give up to 500 puffs.
• 4ml pre-filled pod – this is for retail outside of TPD regulated areas and has a 4ml capacity which apparently will give up to 1600 puffs. The rest of the specs are the same as the 2ml version.

There is quite a range of flavours to choose from for the pre-filled pods…

As mentioned above – the 510 connection on the pods mean you can swap between them when you own the main mod and also use these on other vape devices.

Joyetech is a very recognisable brand in vaping from the early days with kits ranging from the Evic range right up to the latest Evio pod kits.

What To Expect From The Joyetech Widewick Kit…

As mentioned above this kit is nothing “fancy”! It is a basic pod kit to appeal to those who don’t want to spend a fortune or loads of effort on a vape.

It basically consists of 3 main components, the battery (or mod) section, the pod (or tank) and the coil.

The battery section contains a 800mAh internal battery and a USB Type C port is provided for charging at up to 0.5A charge rate – which is not the fastest but again this is a very affordable kit. It also appears that no USB cable is included in the kit either – I suppose this keeps the costs down too.

There are no buttons or adjustments – simply inhale on the mouthpiece to activate the auto draw firing system.

An LED indicator is provided which (according to the manual) will light up when vaping or charging – but I am not sure if this displays the battery capacity remaining.

The pod sits in the top of the battery and is held in magnetically.

You can refill the pod with up to 2ml of your own e-liquid and the mouthpiece is removed to access the fill port. A childproof port version is also available.

Looking at the coil now – this is the interesting bit! The coil is fixed into the pod so you cannot just replace the coil – you discard the pod – but this is a lot let hassle for a lot of people.

Joyetech have designed this with a very wide wick system (hence the name) to allow for better liquid absorption and making sure that the coil is always supplied with liquid to prevent dry hits.

They also claim this design gives less spit-back and also holds e-liquid better with less chance of leaking.

Within the mass of wicking is the 1.2ohm Mesh coil which should give great flavour and coil life.

The Ego Air fits right into this category with draw activation and no buttons or controls to fiddle with.

A 650mAh battery sits inside and this is charged with the USB Type C cable in around 1 hour.

An LED indicator informs you of battery capacity and device status.

The pod holds up to 2ml of your own e-liquid and is filled via the side fill port and you don’t even have to remove the pod from the device.

Also another bonus is the mouthpiece (or drip tip) – you have a standard 510 black drip tip or you can insert the Filter tip to give the feeling of smoking a cigarette. A similar idea is also found on the Aspire Vilter and Innokin EQ FLTR.

Inside the pod is a 1ohm mesh coil which is not replaceable – so when the coil performance deteriorates you will need to replace the pod component.
