We’ve got the Innokin Plexus Pro in for review!

A global force in vaping with over 10 years of experience, Innokin are one of the market leaders and are renowned for designing products that cater to customers wanting to live a smoke-free lifestyle.innokin plexus pro black white vape

Innokin have also been at the front of the charge to make vaping a more environmentally sustainable option by changing how their devices are made and the packaging that they are delivered in.

We’ve taken a look at a lot of Innokin products over the years, most recently with the MVP 60K!

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Plexus Pro?

Arguably the most well known tube shaped refillable pod kit from Innokin is the Endura T18E, which released way back in 2015!

Since then, many additions to the Endura range were made, becoming huge sellers across the globe, popular with beginner vapers and seasoned ones alike.innokin plexus pro kits

Fast forward to 2025 and Innokin have overhauled the Endura entirely, with the Plexus Go and the Plexus Pro representing a brand new evolution in tube device engineering.

Power, precision and style- the Innokin Plexus Pro has been designed and engineered for vapers that demand more from their devices!

You get full control over the performance of your Plexus Pro and how it vapes, with up to 25W of adjustable precision performance and rear airflow control to tailor the draw to your liking.screen plexus pro

And, when you take a draw on the Plexus Pro, it fires instantaneously with 0.01s auto-draw technology!

A 1350mAh battery provides endurance and stamina for all-day vaping sessions, and it can be easily recharged thanks to Type-C charging.

Durable stainless steel used in the frame of the device gives it premium build quality, featuring a 0.87″ vibrant colour smart display for instant information at a glance.

Plexus Cartridges are available in 0.6ohm Dual Mesh, 0.8ohm Mesh and 1.2ohm Mesh configurations, with a 360 degree transparent tank design for full visibility and top sliding refill for convenience.

iTaste engineering delivers optimal performance, rich taste and consistent flavour from the first puff to the last, with ten years of engineering and experience poured into providing the best possible experience with every puff.

Special thanks go to Innokin for sending the Plexus Pro over for review! Innokin also kindly sent over the Plexus Go as well, so we will cover the differences between the two.

And as always, all views are my own..

Design & Build Quality

I have always been a fan of the sleekly designed Endura range and the Innokin Plexus Pro continues on in the same vein, this is a lovely, sleek tube shaped device that has been machined beautifully from stainless steel!white plexus pro in hand

There are six different finishes to pick from, with Shadow Gray, Iridescent Lavender, Navy Blue, Midnight Black, Pearlescent Cream and the fantastically named Pearlescent Rosaline available!tank battery magnetic

The tube shape makes it a joy to hold, offering instant familiarity and an ergonomic design too. Despite being a little on the tall side, the device itself is actually quite slim and easy to slip into my pocket.

On the front of the device is the 0.87″ smart colour display, which does exactly what I need it to do, displaying the battery percentage, wattage output, coil resistance and puff count.oled colour display

Off to the side of the screen is the power button, featuring a short throw and pleasing click to it, and opposite to this is the Type-C charging port. The airflow control is located at the rear.usb-c charge port

Two Innokin Plexus Cartridges are bundled in with the Plexus Pro kit, you get the 0.6ohm Dual Mesh and 0.8ohm Mesh options which cater to MTL and RDL vapers.

These have a tank style design and complete 360 degree visibility, giving you a full view of the e-liquid in the cartridge. Plexus Cartridges also have a TPD-friendly 2ml capacity.innokin plexus pro pink

Of course, they also connect magnetically to the Innokin Plexus Pro device!

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

Innokin have designed a clever sliding top fill mechanism for the Plexus Cartridges, you locate the triangle symbol on top of the cartridge and push with your thumb to slide it open and reveal the filling port.how to fill theinnokin plexus pro cart

Pop the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle into the generously-sized filling port, and fill the tank up whilst taking care not to go too crazy otherwise it will leak straight back out of the top!base-cartridge-plexus-tank

If you are filling a fresh cartridge up for the first time then it is advisable to let e-liquid sit in the tank for five minutes to allow it to soak into the cotton in the coil properly, reducing the chance of dry hits happening and prolonging the lifespan of your Plexus Cartridge.

Operation

Powering the Innokin Plexus Pro device on and off is done by pressing the fire button five times in quick succession.power button

To adjust the wattage, click the power button three times quickly and the wattage on screen should start to blink, then simply press the power button to cycle through the wattage output in 1W increments.

The wattage range of the device is 6-25W, however the 0.6ohm Dual Mesh Plexus Cartridge is the only pod that can take advantage of the full range.

The maximum output of the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm versions are limited to 16W and 13W respectively.

Locking the device is done by clicking the power button four times quickly, which locks the power button. You can still vape on the device however, as auto draw functionality is present, so you can draw on the mouthpiece to vape.

The locking function also kicks in after 10 minutes of inactivity, to reduce the risk of accidental firing, and you just click the power button five times to unlock it.

Charging

A Type-C charging port is located on the side of the Plexus Pro, so you just need to use a compatible Type-C charging cable and suitable power output to charge the device.

Whilst charging, the battery status is displayed as a percentage on screen. You can take a puff on it whilst it charges, however this will increase the charging time.

Safety Features

  • Low battery protection
  • Coil error protection
  • Low resistance protection
  • 10 second vaping overtime cut off
  • Overheating protection
  • Short circuit protection

Innokin Plexus Go

Alongside the Plexus Pro, Innokin are also launching the Plexus Go!

This is a slightly smaller Plexus device, that offers a little more convenience as it is solely a plug and play option.

plexus vapesNo adjustable wattage is present here, the power output is determined by the resistance of the coil in your Plexus Cartridge, and it comes with a 0.8ohm Mesh Plexus Cartridge only.

The Plexus Pro comes with both the 0.6ohm Dual Mesh and 0.8ohm Mesh versions.

Power output is limited to 20W, and it has a 1,000mAh built in battery. There’s no screen on the body of the device here either, with an LED battery indicator around the fire button instead.

If you are looking for something smaller and a bit simpler, then the Plexus Go is a great option!

How Does The Innokin Plexus Pro Perform?

Whereas many previous Innokin Endura devices tended to cater almost exclusively to MTL vapers, the Innokin Plexus Pro can support both MTL and RDL vaping.front view innokin plexus pro

This is down to the adjustable airflow options, as well as the 6-25W power output range available.

You can push the power button to vape or take a puff on the mouthpiece thanks to the auto draw system. The Plexus Pro fires instantaneously, and the vape is consistent and smooth throughout.

It’s a great device to use either freebase nicotine or nicotine salt e-liquids in, I have had no problems with either!

0.6ohm Plexus Cartridge

With the 0.6ohm Plexus Cartridge, you are able to take full advantage of the 6-25W output range of the Plexus Pro.plexus cartridge

This is also the only cartridge that features a dual mesh coil set up, and I could really taste the difference here as a result.

Flavour delivery felt very concentrated and intense, with a slight warmth to it as well at 23-25W.

I found that this cartridge is the one you need if you prefer an RDL hit!

0.8ohm Plexus Cartridge

With the 0.8ohm Plexus Cartridge, power output is limited to a maximum of 16W and a single mesh coil is found here.plexus cartridge options

During my testing, I found that this suited a MTL vape really well, especially when using 10mg Nicotine Salt e-liquids.

It does work best at 14-16W, as I found that it struggled a bit with lower power resulting in gurgling and a weak vape.

1.2ohm Plexus Cartridge

13W is the limit with the 1.2ohm cartridge and this is most definitely a MTL cartridge!

Therefore, this one is more for a relaxed and tight MTL vape, with 20mg nicotine salt e-liquids.

Pod Lifespan

Thumbs up for the Plexus Cartridges here!mouthpiece plexus cartridge

I’ve had the Plexus Pro for over a week now, and have only just had to change my initial 0.6ohm cartridge.

That is with some pretty heavy vaping too, so these cartridges have stood up well to heavy use and will provide value for money with their lifespan.

Airflow

A sliding airflow control is located on the rear of the Plexus Pro, allowing smooth and easy airflow adjustment.airflow

It’s not the largest airflow slot, so don’t expect massive clouds from this device, but the design of it means that it caters to both MTL and RDL vaping. You do really need to have the airflow to be fully open for an RDL hit though.

Battery Life

There is a 1350mAh battery built into the Plexus Pro, and Innokin really do know how to get the best out of their batteries!

I got all day battery life from the Plexus Pro, even vaping at 23W with the 0.6ohm Plexus Cartridge, it lasted even longer than a day when using the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm cartridges!

Pros

  • 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm Plexus Cartridge pods included in the kit
  • Sleek design with great build quality
  • Adjustable wattage and airflow
  • Mouth to lung and restricted lung vaping options
  • Smooth vape with excellent flavour
  • Great choice for beginners
  • Auto draw and power button vaping options

Cons

  • Tall device compared to other pod systems
  • Power output range limited to the resistance of the pod

Final Verdict

Innokin have done a superb job revitalising their tube mod range with the Plexus Pro!

It is a device that can cater to new vapers as well as more experienced ones alike, thanks to the adjustable wattage, airflow and range of different Plexus cartridges.

The Plexus Pro is definitely a device that I would recommend if you are moving from disposables to prefilled pod systems, this is an easy to use kit that gives you the opportunity to try out some different vaping styles and with Innokin’s reputation for solidly built kits, it is one that will last you for a fair while too!

You’ll save money too by using the Plexus Cartridges, as they offer great lifespan, which means you won’t have to replace your cartridges as often.

All in all, this is a very impressive tube mod from Innokin that has a lot of upsides and very little downsides!

I’m looking forward to seeing what additions Innokin make to the Plexus range in the future.

Many thanks to Innokin for sending the Plexus Pro in for review!

The prefilled pod kit hype train is strong at the moment the MVP 60K is the latest!

The MVP range is absolutely timeless, and under the hood its built by a name that is very well known amongst veteran vaping enthusiasts. Innokin.

The MVP and MVP2 really set the standard for box mods over 10 years ago, becoming some of the biggest sellers that the industry has ever seen!
mvp pod vape reviewThe MVP3 and MVP3 Pro continued on in the same vein, though the last itineration of the MVP line was the MVP5 Ajax kit that we saw back in 2019.

Innokin then pivoted to focusing on pod styled mods, with some huge winners such as the Coolfire PZ Pulse, Trine SE and the Klypse Pro.

So, how does the Innokin MVP 60K shake up the MVP line? Read on to find out…

What Can We Expect From The Innokin MVP 60K?

Vapers who have been around a while will have surely heard of the MVP range from Innokin…well now it is back but not quite as you might expect it!mvp-60k-mouthpiece

Innokin have completely refreshed the MVP range, with the latest addition being the MVP 60K, which is a pre-filled pod system which promises to offer more power, more control and unmatched performance…

You get double the performance with the Dual Mesh coil set up, meaning more vaping and less replacing! Premium grade coils are used to deliver consistent performance, whilst keeping flavours fresh and maximising lifespan.

Full flavour is delivered by the device as it is capable of outputting up to 22W, with two different vaping modes available, providing rich and vibrant flavour from the first puff to the last!

A smart gravity-fed e-liquid refilling system allows e-liquid to flow automatically from the refill container to the pod, with a 360 degree viewing window making it easy to keep track of how much e-liquid is left.

You don’t have to worry about how much battery is left, as the smartly placed top LCD screen shows you exactly how much battery life you have, along with the output mode you are using.

15 flavours are available, with a range of bold and satisfying blends- plus you get three in the kit to try out and start you off!

There’s no need to bin your device once you’ve finished, simply switch out the cartridge and carry on vaping. It’s easy to switch pods, as you can just slide in the new cartridge, lock it in place and carry on vaping, making it quick, clean and hassle free.

And of course, the MVP 60K is fully ECID-registered and 100% compliant with the latest June 2025 TPD standards in the UK.

Many thanks to Innokin for sending a couple of the MVP 60K kits in for review, let’s have a look at the next evolution in the MVP range!

And as always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality

Including the cartridge, the MVP 60K measures in at 100mm x 53mm x 25mm, making it a palm sized device. It’s pocket friendly too, as I found it to be surprisingly lighter than it actually looks at first.mvp 60k pod vape in hand

Of course, as this is a TPD compliant prefilled pod system, the kit is actually made up of a few parts- you’ve got the pod, refill container and the device itself.

These are all machined well and click together without much fuss, and the assembled cartridge connects to the device magnetically.battery pod mvp 60k

A bit of a head scratcher here though is the way that the refill cartridge has been designed.

As it stands, it doesn’t sit flush with the base of the device and protrudes out somewhat- making it difficult to stand the device up!

innokin mvp 60k side view

I guess that is down to the capacity of the cartridge but still- I can’t help thinking that perhaps the device could have been slightly wider to make the refill cartridge sit flush against the device!

A plus point is the way that the pod itself has been designed, offering a 360 degree viewing window so you can quickly check how much e-liquid remains in the pod.

There’s also a small cut out where the refill container slots into the cartridge to check the e-liquid level in there.mvp 60k magnetic attachments

Also, the position of the top LCD screen is great, this is bright and clear, showing the battery level as well as the selected power output, the position of this at the top of the device makes it easy to check quickly.

Quick Start Guide

Well Innokin have nailed the setup process here, with one of the easiest prefilled pod kits to put together! You can get started with an Innokin MVP 60K in absolutely no time at all.

Simply remove the protective wrapper and silicon bungs, then push the refill container into the pod.side fire button view

A gravity-fed refilling system keeps the pod topped up, so you just need to tilt the device to the side to get e-liquid to travel into the pod.

An auto draw system is also used so you just puff on the mouthpiece to get it to fire.

Once you have finished off your cartridge, save the device and just swap the cartridge out for a new one, ensuring that you can continue using your device over and over again.

There are two different output power modes, you can choose between Eco and Max by pressing the function button three times. The selected output mode is displayed on the screen, along with remaining battery life as a percentage.

Charging

The Type-C charging port is located on the base of the Innokin MVP 60K, so just plug a Type-C charging cable in and use a suitable power source to charge the Innokin MVP 60K.usb c charge port

You can see how quickly it is charging by checking the screen at the top of the device, and once it has hit 100% you are fully charged and ready to vape!

Flavours

Innokin have developed 15 flavours for the MVP 60K range, and these are spread across 9 different ‘editions’ or kits. Each edition features three flavours.mvp 60k flavours The available editions are-

  • Red Edition- Watermelon Ice/Strawberry Ice/Strawberry Watermelon
  • Blue Edition- Mr. Blue/Blueberry Sour Raspberry/Blueberry Raspberry
  • Tropical Edition- Sour Pineapple Ice/Triple Mango/Tropical Ice
  • Special Edition- Mr. Blue/Lemon Lime/Fizzy Cherry
  • Cherry Edition- Cherry Ice/Fizzy Cherry/Strawberry Raspberry Cherry
  • Green Edition- Lemon Lime/Kiwi Passion Guava/Menthol
  • Strawberry Edition- Strawberry Ice/Strawberry Watermelon/Strawberry Raspberry Cherry
  • Fruity Ice Edition- Cherry Ice/Watermelon Ice/Tropical Ice
  • Raspberry Edition- Strawberry Raspberry Cherry/Blueberry Raspberry/Blueberry Sour Raspberry

Innokin very kindly sent me the Special Edition and Red Edition to try out, and here are my thoughts-

Special Edition- Mr Blue/Lemon Lime/Fizzy Cherry

Mr Blue features a very dominant note of blueberry, and was actually less sweeter than some of the other Mr Blue blends that I have tried. This is finished off with a pretty robust icy note to it which is a refreshing end.

Lemon Lime is top notch, and it is one of the better lemon and lime blends that I have tried recently. This blend goes for authenticity, I felt that the both the lemon and lime had shades of the actual fruits in them, and there’s a lovely sour note to this one.

Fizzy Cherry reminded me of a fizzy cherry sweet, there’s an artificial red cherry flavouring with a fair bit of sweetener present, and I definitely noticed a fizzy finish to this!

Red Edition- Watermelon Ice/Strawberry Ice/Strawberry Watermelon

Watermelon Ice surprised me I will say, I’m obviously not normally a fan of watermelon blends but this tasted more like authentic watermelon fruit (which I do actually like) with a chilly finish to it.

Strawberry Ice again goes for authenticity, with a delicious fruity strawberry that wasn’t overly sweetened. The icy finish is well balanced here too, neither too strong nor too weak, giving it wide appeal.

Strawberry Watermelon basically just blends the two together. I get the strawberry flavouring first, before the watermelon comes in along with a cool finish to it.

Although I have to give Innokin props for the quality of the blends in the Red Edition, I would personally go for the Special Edition over this due to the two watermelon blends included with the Red Edition!

How Does The Innokin MVP 60K Perform?

Innokin have set this up to be a mouth to lung vape, with a fixed airflow, making it appealing to beginner vapers. You’ve got two output modes to play with here, as Eco and Max modes are available.mvp 60k pod vape

In Eco mode, the device outputs up to a maximum of 16W, meaning that you sacrifice some output power but get longer battery life as a result.

Max mode ramps it up to 22W (at the cost of battery life of course!), delivering a more powerful and warmer vape than Eco mode does.

I will say that this is a surprisingly airy mouth to lung vape, regardless of the selected output mode, with plenty of vapour production!top of mvp 60k

Innokin have also configured the Eco mode very well I felt, usually I find that an ‘Eco’ mode is a little bit weak for my style of vaping but here I got on with it just fine! I got a satisfying nicotine hit from both Eco and Max output modes.

Battery Life

Battery life on the MVP 60K will vary depending on your preferred output mode, along with how frequently you vape.mvp 60k battery life

If you put a premium on battery life, then of course Eco mode will be the option to go for. Using this mode gave me almost two days worth of battery life, ideal if I was unable to charge my kit for a while.

That being said, it is no slouch when vaping in Max mode either. I was still able to get a full day’s use from a full charge, which is pretty much all I ask of a vaping kit!

How Many Puffs Do You Get From An Innokin MVP 60K Pod?

Your mileage in terms of puffs will vary, as your own vaping habits will affect your total number of puffs, as will whether you are using Eco or Max mode as an increased power level will get through more e-liquid.

When testing out the Mr Blue cartridge, I got a very respectable 8,231 puffs using a mixture of both Eco and Max modes, I’m sure this could be stretched out even further when just using Eco mode!

Pros

  • Very easy set up process
  • Also an extremely easy kit to use
  • Excellent choice for beginner vapers
  • Reusable kit- pod and refill container kits sold separately
  • Very well blended flavours
  • Lightweight, pocket friendly kit

Cons

  • Base of the pod sits proudly from the bottom of the device- making it difficult to stand the device up!
  • When the refill container is running low on e-liquid, you really need to tilt it in order to see exactly how much is left
  • Quite slow charging time

Final Verdict

Well, Innokin have really turned the MVP line on its head with the MVP 60K!

Given the previous history of MVP mods, and I’ve owned them all bar the MVP5 Ajax, I certainly wasn’t expecting the next MVP mod to be a prefilled pod kit!

And Innokin have done an excellent job here…

This kit offers a top notch level of convenience, as you can put the kit together in absolutely no time at all and enjoy an excellent vape from a very well tuned device simply by taking a puff.

It is sustainable too, as you can keep hold of the device and just snap on a new cartridge after finishing one off, saving you from having to purchase a whole new kit.

One of the most important aspects of a prefilled pod kit is the flavours, and these are on the money too. I got to try out some very well blended e-liquids in these kits, which could stand alone as part of an e-liquid range if I am honest!

If you bought the MVP 60k we would love to hear what you thought. Let us know in the comments below.

Innokin have been around since before vaping even really took off, producing kits that appeal to every type of vaper, and they’ve picked up a ton of industry awards over time (including plenty of our own Ecigclick awards voted on by vapers themselves!) which recognises the excellence in their products.

One of the most recognisable brands that Innokin produce is the Coolfire line, featuring standout devices such as the original Coolfire 1, Coolfire 4, Coolfire Z50, Coolfire Ultra and the recently reviewed Coolfire PZPulse!

They aren’t just known for the Coolfire range however, and Innokin have released some top drawer products such as the Trine, Trine SE and the Z Pod Nano.

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Coolfire Z80 NEX?

The Innokin Coolfire Z80 NEX is the latest Coolfire device, seamlessly blending quality and innovation.

Known for providing a comfortable form factor, the instantly recognisable Coolfire design and rock solid build quality returns here with the Coolfire Z80 NEX device, along with some upgrades such as an easy slide locking switch and a simplified 0.96″ TFT screen, which puts the focus on what you need and makes vaping easier.

It’s powered by an 18650 battery (sold separately) and has an output power range of 6-80W, with 2A fast charging and six safety protections built in. A smart chipset maintains a stable power output even if your battery is running low, meaning you get a consistent vape with every puff.

A brand new Zenith tank is paired with the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit in the form of the Zenith NEX tank. This has a new sliding Top Fill and Airflow Adjustment system whereby the filling port and air inlet are integrated into one ring, allowing you to easily manage e-liquid filling and airflow adjustment with a simple twist.

The Zenith NEX tank has a 5ml capacity and as such is only available with the non-TPD version of the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit, the TPD (UK) version will be supplied with the Zenith M tank.

Z Coils have received an upgrade, with the upgraded versions making their debut as part of the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit, enhancing the design and optimising the wicking to bring out richer flavours and an elevated vape that is as dependable as ever.

This is a kit that appeals to both mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vapers equally!

Many thanks to Innokin for sending over the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit for review, let’s take a look at what the latest Coolfire device has to offer! As always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality

I’ve used a lot of Innokin’s Coolfire devices in my time and I felt right at home with the form factor of the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit as soon as I began to use it.innokin coolfire z80 nex in hand

There’s a rounded back to it that sits really comfortably in the palm of my hand, and a decent weight to the kit as well with an 18650 battery installed.

Build quality on the Coolfire Z80 NEX is very solid overall, which is something that I have come to expect from Innokin products over the years. There’s no sharp edges or anything here, everything is machined well and works as well as it is intended to.

The front of the device sports a good sized power button, which has a relatively short throw to it. This sits above the 0.96″ TFT colour screen, which displays information such as battery level, output wattage, vaping time, coil resistance, output voltage and a puff counter.power button innokin coolfire z80 nex

At the base of the screen is a handy locking switch, with the charging port located just below this, and the + and – adjustment buttons located on the side of the device.

The battery compartment is located at the base, which has has a small handle that you pop up with your finger when unscrewing the cap, and a compartment to house a single 18650 battery.base innokin coolfire z80 nex

On top of the device is a spring loaded 510 connector for you to connect the Zenith NEX or Zenith M tank too, if either of these tanks don’t take your fancy then you can use any other tank that sports a threaded 510 connector.top of innokin coolfire nex z80

Six different colour options are available with the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit, these are Black, Gradient Blue, Silver, Gunmetal, Turquoise and Purple.

Zenith NEX/Zenith M Tank

I did note that my review version came with the Innokin Zenith M tank which I was a little confused about at first, as the marketing blurb for this kit mentioned that it came with the new Zenith NEX tank.zenith m-tank innokin coolfire z80 nex

We did reach out to Innokin who helpfully cleared this up for us. They stated that at present, there is no TPD compliant version of the Zenith NEX tank, therefore the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit actually comes with the Zenith M tank when purchased in a TPD market, and the Zenith NEX tank comes as part of the non-TPD kit.

So, I’ll detail a little bit about the Zenith M tank here!

This tank has a 2ml capacity allowing it to be compatible with TPD regulations, and it features a clear PCTG tank section which gives you full visibility of the e-liquid in your tank. You also get a spare tank section in the kit in case you break the original, which is a nice touch by Innokin!branding innokin coolfire z80 nex

It’s a top filling tank, that features an easy top fill method (more on this below), it comes with two drip tips- a narrow bore one for mouth to lung vaping and a wider bore one for restricted lung vaping. It will also accept any other 510 threaded drip tip.

An adjustable airflow control ring is located at the bottom of the tank, giving you access to a wide range of different airflow options. It is also compatible with Innokin’s range of Z coils.

Quick Start Guide

Battery Installation

No built in battery found here, the Coolfire Z80 NEX kit requires a single high amp 18650 battery and one is not supplied with the kit!

We recommend that you purchase one from a reputable vendor and do not store them loosely when not in use.

Read more in our guide to battery safety here!

To install your 18650 battery, rotate the silver cap on the battery compartment to unscrew it, install the battery positive side up, then replace the battery cap once done.

How to Fill the Zenith M Tank

  • Rotate the top of the tank slightly anti-clockwise until it comes off
  • Then locate the filling port, insert the bottle nozzle of your e-liquid and fill the tank up, taking care not to overfill it.
  • Once done, pop the top of the tank back on and rotate it clockwise to lock it.

Changing the Coil

You can change the coil via the base of the Zenith M tank:

  • Remove the tank from the device
  • Invert the tank
  • Unscrew the base of the tank
  • Slide the old coil out and the new one in
  • Replace the base of the tank.

If you are using a brand new Z Coil for the first time, let e-liquid sit in the tank for five minutes before vaping to allow the cotton to properly absorb the e-liquid.

Operation

oled screen z80 nex

  • Three clicks of the power button turns the device on or off
  • Toggling the locking switch will lock or unlock the buttons
  • To adjust the power output, hold down the + and – buttons for one second until the numbers on screen begin to flash, then use + and – to adjust the output to your desired setting.
  • Press and hold the power and – buttons together for two seconds to access the secondary menu. This allows you to adjust the vape cut off time from 3 to 18 seconds and the screen timeout from 5 to 180 seconds, and also to check the device ID.
  • Press and hold the power and + button for one second to enter the information menu. This displays battery level, voltage, coil resistance, puff count and an option to clear the puff counter and return to the main interface.

Charging

I’d always recommend that you use an external charger purchased from a reputable vendor to charge up any device that has removeable batteries, though I know that this isn’t always possible for some people.

5V/2A fast charging is available through the charging port on the device if you choose to charge the battery in the Coolfire Z80 NEX, so it is recommended that you use the cable supplied with the kit or one compatible with 5V/2A charging.

You should always use a safe power source and ensure the device is charged within sight of you.

Charging speed will depend on the capacity of your 18650 battery and the power output source.

Safety Features

  • LOW VOLT- this is displayed on screen when the battery voltage is too low, and is remedied by charging the battery.
  • COIL CHECK- You’ll see this warning if the tank is not connected properly or the resistance of the coil is too high. Check the connection on the tank or replace the coil.
  • TIME OUT- this is where the puff duration exceeds the set cut off. Wait for two seconds before vaping again.
  • HIGH TEMP- this warning is displayed when the PCB temperature is too high. Wait for the device to cool down before vaping again.
  • COIL SHORT- this warning displays when there is a short circuit. You’ll need to check the connection between the tank and the device or replace the coil.
  • LOW RES- This displays if the coil resistance is too low. Again, check the connection between the tank and the device or replace the coil.

How Does The Innokin Coolfire Z80 NEX Perform?

Innokin Z Coils

Formerly known as Zenith coils, Innokin’s range of Z Coils are one of the markets top sellers and they offer options for virtually all styles of vaping.

There are 0.48ohm, 0.5ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm, 1.2ohm and 1.6ohm coils for mouth to lung vaping, and striking, gold coloured 0.3ohm and 1.0ohm coils for restricted lung vaping.innokin z coil compatibilityZ Coils have recently been upgraded based on user feedback, featuring an enhanced design and optimised wicking for stronger flavour and even denser clouds.

You get two of the latest, upgraded Z Coils included in the box, and here’s my thoughts on how they performed-

0.8ohm MTL Z Coil

As the name suggests, this coil is best suited for mouth to lung vaping with the MTL drip tip, and has a recommended wattage range of 15-18W.

My preference has been to use the 0.8ohm Z Coil with 20mg nicotine salt based e-liquids, and it has been absolutely ideal for those.

Wicking keeps up perfectly, meaning no dry hits or gurgling, and there is plenty of flavour on each and every puff.

0.3ohm Z Coil

This is the coil you’ll want to use for restricted direct lung vaping along with the RDL drip tip, and the recommended wattage range for this coil is 30-40W.innokin z coil

As a restricted direct lung vaper myself, it’s no surprise that this coil was my preferred one!

This worked like a charm for high VG e-liquids (handy as I have a cupboard full of shortfills!), providing dense clouds and plenty of warm and tasty flavour.

The vape from this was up there with the best that I’ve tried from a sub ohm tank recently, and I’m still very much enjoying it as I type this review!

Coil Lifespan

These coils wick extremely well, I tested blends up to 70/30 VG/PG and the Z Coils showed no signs of struggle whatsoever.

I have found that fruity and sweet blends perform best with these coils, as long as they aren’t too heavy on the sweetener, I got just under a weeks worth of use out of a single Z coil when vaping fruity e-liquids.

Where I’ve found them to struggle is with particularly ‘heavy’ e-liquids, such as a salted caramel macchiato blend that I do very much enjoy. That has actually wiped the floor with a Z Coil in just over a days worth of use!

Airflow

A bottom airflow system is used on the Zenith M tank, and a top airflow system is used on the Zenith NEX tank.

There’s a wealth of options available for airflow on the Zenith M tank, ranging from a tight mouth to lung hit right up to a borderline unrestricted lung hit.

If you like a dense, cloudy vape then the Zenith M is no slouch in this department. With the 0.3ohm coil and the airflow opened up, this is more than capable of kicking out plenty of vapour!

The only downside I found here was that the airflow control ring is quite hard to adjust when the tank is on the device, often necessitating the removal of the tank from the device in order to adjust the airflow.

Battery Life

This is very much dependent on the 18650 battery that you are using in the device, as well as the coil resistance and the selected output wattage.

I used a Molicell 2800mAh 25A 18650 battery with my Coolfire Z80 NEX, and this will last me the best part of a full day when vaping with a 0.3ohm Z Coil and the power output set to 35W.

Pros

  • Smooth and flavoursome vape
  • Beginner friendly vaping kit
  • Mouth to lung and restricted direct lung drip tips in the box
  • Includes spare o-rings and replacement tank section
  • Handy locking switch saves you from having to turn the device off when not in use
  • Solid build quality

Cons

  • Coil lifespan isn’t the best with certain e-liquids
  • Does not have a built-in battery which will be a downside for some users
  • Airflow control can be difficult to adjust unless you remove the Zenith M tank from the device
  • TPD compliant kit doesn’t actually come with the new Zenith NEX tank.

Final Verdict

I don’t really like to start off summarizing this review with a negative, but I did find it a little disappointing that the TPD version of the Coolfire Z80 NEX did not come with the new Zenith NEX tank, with the Zenith M tank supplied instead. I love a good top airflow tank!

That being said, the Zenith M tank along with the new and upgraded Z Coils still provides a very enjoyable and flavoursome vape with an easy to use top filling system and a lot of different airflow options.

The Coolfire Z80 NEX device boasts some pretty rock solid build quality, which is something that Innokin have become very well known for over the years.

All in all, this is a solidly performing kit that appeals to both mouth to lung vapers and restricted direct lung ones too.

It’s easy to get to grips with and provides all the power you need for a single 18650 battery set up, so if you are looking to make the jump from a pod system to something with a little more power, this is well worth considering.

Fans of Innokin’s Coolfire kits will really like this latest one, and I’m sure this kit will draw in some brand new Coolfire fans too!

Many thanks to Innokin for sending the Coolfire Z80 NEX in for review!

In today’s review we are looking at one of Innokin’s latest kits, the Innokin Coolfire PZPulse!

coolfire pz pulse in handWithout a doubt, Innokin are one of the largest and most well-known names in the industry. They produce kits that appeal to every type of vaper and they’ve been doing it for a long time too, ever since vaping really took off.

They’ve achieved widespread recognition over time and plenty of industry accolades (including plenty over time in the Ecigclick awards!) for delivering top quality, solidly made products at affordable prices. We’ve taken a look at a few of these recently, such as the Innokin Trine, Trine SE and the Z Pod Nano.

PZ Pulse banner

Coolfire is a longstanding line of Innokin products. With some classics such as the original Coolfire 1, Coolfire Z50 and Coolfire Ultra being big sellers in the vaping market. The PZPulse is the latest one to join this range.

One of my first variable wattage box mods actually was the Innokin Coolfire 4 way back in 2014, so I’m excited to see how the Coolfire range has evolved with the PZPulse!

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Coolfire PZPulse?

Innokin are touting the Coolfire PZPulse as offering a stylish, rugged design that boasts an ultra-durable IP68 certified chassis. Which means you’ve got full protection from dust and debris and top-level water resistance too. This is definitely a device that will handle daily wear and tear!

pz pulse ip68

There’s a new range of coils designed for use with the PZPulse and these are the PZP Max coils. Each coil is optimised for high power outputs and boasts enhanced longevity, delivering an excellent vaping experience right down to the last puff.

pz pulse coil options

Having multi-layered organic cotton and larger wicking ports, the PZP Max coils boost e-liquid absorption and distribution to deliver substantial vapour and intense flavour. Plus a Gold plated copper contact on the coil optimises conductivity to maximise efficiency and deliver seamless vaping.

PZ pulse pnp

PZP Max coils are used in the new Coolfire PZPulse pod. These boast a TPD-friendly 2ml capacity (5ml for the non-TPD market) which is top filled. The pod has been designed with top airflow intakes and four silicone seals to eliminate leakage.

pz pulse airflow capacity

You’ve got a monster of a 2400mAh battery built into the device, which aims to offer three day’s worth of seamless vaping. When it is time to recharge, 2A super-fast charging will boost you up to 80% battery in an hour from flat.

Design & Build Quality

Innokin aren’t messing about here when it comes to developing a serious, rugged device. This feels and absolutely looks the part too! This has got to be one of the most robust kits I’ve had my hands on this year.

coolfire pz pulse side view

The tri-proof ultra durable IP68 certified chassis of the device just feels incredibly robust and well made. Setting a standard for how devices in this area of the market should be designed. It stands up to everyday use easily, I’ve got barely a scratch on mine and it’s manufactured to be shock resistant too.

coolfire pz pulse branding

Having IP68 certification means that it has full protection against dust and debris. It is water resistant too, offering protection against full water immersion at up to 1 metre. Ideal if you love a vape in the bath, just don’t try and toot away on it underwater!

pzpulse base

This device measures in at 119mm x 43.77mm x 30.58mm, making it an almost perfect size for my palm. The leather insert gives it a bit of a soft feel in the hand.

cool fire pz pulse hand grip

A 0.96” Full-curved TFT screen is a real standout on the Coolfire PZPulse. This is a bright colour screen that displays information such as the current battery level, output power, puff count, coil resistance and output voltage. A vape timer pops up on screen when you push the power button to vape.

Coolfire pz pulse screen

Next to the screen is a locking switch, which lets you lock and unlock the power button at a literal flick of a switch.

cool fire pz pulse grey

The PZPulse pod comes with the kit. This is secured in the Coolfire PZ Pulse device magnetically and stays in place firmly with no wobble. You get a 2ml capacity if purchasing the device in a TPD-regulated area and a 5ml capacity outside of this.

pz pulse coolfire pod top

A top airflow system is found on the PZPulse, the airflow control ring is buttery smooth making it easy to finely adjust the airflow as you see fit. If you aren’t a fan of the included RDL drip tip, you can pop this off pretty easily and replace it with one of your choice.

cool fire pzpulse airflow

My only gripe with the PZPulse pod was that the dark tint on it made it difficult to see how much e-liquid is left in the pod. But that is really minor when you consider just how well made the whole kit is!

Quick Start Guide

Filling the Pod

A top-filling system is used on the PZPulse pod.

coolfire pz pulse fill port

Just flip open the silicon cover and you can stick the nozzle of your e-liquid bottle in to fill up in no time at all. It’s a very easy and mess free system… as long as you don’t overfill it!

If you are filling the tank for the first time with a fresh PZP Max coil, it’s best to let it stand for at least five minutes to allow e-liquid to be absorbed correctly by the cotton in the coil. This helps prolong the longevity of the coil and guards against nasty dry hits.

Operation

Once the PZ Pulse pod has been filled…

  • Push the power button three times to turn the Coolfire PZ Pulse on. Push the power button three times again if you wish to switch it off.
  • There’s a handy locking switch present on the device and I love this feature. It means you don’t need to turn the device off each time you pop it into your pocket or bag. Just toggle the locking switch up and down to lock and unlock it.
  • To adjust the power level, you hold down the plus or minus button for one second until the numbers start flashing. Each further press of the plus or minus button will change the wattage in 0.5W increments between 6-20W and in 1W increments between 20-80W.
  • Accessing the menu is done by holding down the plus and minus buttons simultaneously for two seconds. You can then adjust the vaping cut off time from 3 to 18 seconds and the screen timeout from 5 to 180 seconds.
  • If you hold down the power and plus buttons for one second, an information menu will be displayed. This shows the current coil resistance, voltage, user puff count, as well as options to clear the puff count and return to the main interface.

Replace The Coil

When it is time to change a coil, remove the PZPulse pod, invert it, pull the old coil out and slide a new one in.

coolfire pz pulse pod base

Protections

Six safety protections are built into the PZPulse device, with low voltage, coil check, time out, high temperature, coil short and low resistance protection.

Innokin are one of the more safety-conscious brands out there. Alongside the user manual there’s also a safety booklet which will guide you through some do’s and don’ts, as well as providing handy tips on how to care of the built in battery.

Charging

In the past, some of Innokin’s products haven’t exactly been renowned for possessing a speedy charging time.

cool fire pz pulse purple

That all changes with the Coolfire PZPulse, as this has 2A super-fast charging. So you can pop your USB-C charging cable in and it will charge the 2400mAh battery from flat up to 80% in under an hour, with a full charge taking just a touch longer!

How Does The Innokin Coolfire PZPulse Perform?

You get a 0.2ohm and 0.4ohm coil in the kit. 0.6ohm coils are also available in the PZP Max range too. Innokin kindly sent me a pack of those over to try out!
pzp max coil

0.4ohm Coil

Pre-installed in the PZPulse pod is the 0.4ohm coil, so this was the first one that I tried out.

Innokin recommend that this is used in the 40-60W region, I found that the sweet spot (depending on the e-liquid I used) with this coil was in the 45-50W mark.

I get a fairly warm vape from this and some very pronounced flavour.

It feels like Innokin have raised the bar again with these coils compared to the previous ones they’ve released.

0.2ohm Coil

I’ve got to say though, using the 0.2ohm coil really kicked things up a notch. These are aimed for use in the 60-80W region. If you really want to get the most out of the Coolfire PZPulse kit then you will want to get straight on this coil!

This gave me a really dense, flavoursome vape that was absolutely fantastic with custard and dessert flavour profiles. I was pretty happy with this at 70W and opening the airflow control right up allowed me to blow some big, room-filling clouds! Can’t say my wife was too impressed with that though…

0.6ohm Coil

The 0.6ohm coil isn’t too bad but I felt this was a little too weak for me and I couldn’t get a satisfying restricted direct lung (RDL) hit off it.

It’s been designed for use in the 18-23W region and fared better with the airflow closed right down for a mouth to lung (MTL) hit. But I feel some higher resistance PZP Max coils, such as a 0.8ohm or a 1.0ohm one, would be a better idea for MTL vaping.

For more details of the terms MTL, DTL and RDL visit our Guide To Vape Styles.

PZP Max Coil Summary

Personally, I would say that the 0.2ohm coil was favourite one out of the three. I really enjoyed the warm, flavourful vape out of this coil and the big clouds that I got.

Coil lifespan is absolutely excellent. I’ve always been impressed with the longevity that Innokin coils provide and I was getting a week or more out of these which is excellent.

coolfire pzpulse 3 colours

Vapour production is very impressive, this kit will definitely please the cloud chasers! You can open the airflow up and seriously kick out the vapour, especially when using the 0.2ohm coil in the 70-80W region.

I can happily say that during my time with this kit I have not had a single leak from it. Just a barely perceptible level of condensation under the tank from time to time which is easily wiped away with kitchen cloth!

Battery life is another major plus point here. The 2400mAh battery would easily power me through over a day’s worth of vaping with the 0.4ohm coil at 45W. I would get just under a day when vaping the 0.2ohm coil at 70W.

Pros

  • User friendly device
  • Phenomenal flavour delivery
  • Best for direct lung vaping (DTL)
  • Rock-solid build quality
  • Easy to replace coils
  • No leaks during use
  • All day battery life
  • Bright and easy to read screen
  • Locking switch
  • Ergonomically designed

Cons

  • Difficult to see how much e-liquid is present in the tank
  • PZP Max coil range could do with a 0.8ohm or 1.0ohm option for lower powered MTL draws

Final Verdict

As we approach the end of 2024, Innokin have swept in with a contender for my favourite vaping kit of this year. In fact, this is one of my favourite kits of all time already!

Since I received it for review it has become a daily driver and a kit I don’t leave the house without!

The Innokin Coolfire PZPulse is absolutely rock solid in all aspects, from build quality, to battery life, right through to flavour delivery. Those are the reasons why this has become a kit that I have been carrying about absolutely everywhere with me.

This is a seriously tough device that stands up easily to daily wear and tear and just keeps coming back for more. Delivering an excellent vape each and every time, with battery life that lasts me right through the day. I can say that I’ve really struggled to find negatives with this device and there are an awful lot of positives with it!

This device isn’t yet available in the UK and so I can’t yet comment on price. But given Innokin’s reputation for delivering high performing devices at wallet friendly prices, I would imagine this is going to be priced very competitively. If so, Innokin have a real winner on their hands with the PZPulse.

Many thanks go to Innokin for sending the Coolfire PZPulse kit over for review, you’ll be able to get your hands on this in the UK very soon!

The Innokin Trine sustainable pod kit was an absolute smash hit recently and Innokin are looking to capitalise on the success of this with the release of the Innokin Trine SE!

trine se main

Innokin are a brand name that virtually any vaper will recognise, highly regarded for their innovative approach to vaping products. They’ve been around virtually since vaping really took off!

They use their vast industry knowledge and experience to come up with new and innovative kits that appeal to any type of vaper, from the beginner right through to the seasoned enthusiast.

Innokin cleaned up six accolades in the recent Ecigclick awards and have earned great reviews from us recently for products such as the Innokin Z Pod Nano, Zyon and of course the original Innokin Trine.

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Trine SE?

Innokin’s original Trine kit, which released earlier this year, was a smash-hit and was lauded for its sustainable design. Allowing you to remove the battery to dispose of it safely once it had reached the end of its lifespan.

trine se banner

You can then simply replace the battery with a new one, allowing you to continue using your Trine device, making it a sustainable vaping option!

trine se battery

This also gives you the ability to have a fully charged spare battery on hand. So you can simply swap a depleted one for a freshly charged one, which will save you money on buying a second kit to carry around with you!

The Innokin Trine SE makes the Trine even more accessible and easy to use. It does away with the screen and adjustable wattage and the chip auto-selects power output based on the remaining battery life and the resistance of the coil.

trine se features

An easy to use sliding airflow control allows you to adjust the airflow to cater to your own preferences. Allowing you to close it right down for a tight vape or open it right up for a looser and airier draw.

You don’t have any need to rush out and buy new pods for this Trine version, as it retains compatibility with Innokin’s VCap pods. These come in resistances of 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm. The pods feature a TPD-compliant 2ml capacity and boast leak-proof top filling.

Many thanks to Innokin for sending the Trine SE over for review, let’s dive in and see what it has to offer!

As always, all views are my own. Please note that I am reviewing pre-release versions of the Innokin Trine SE so some features may differ on release…

However, I did notice that a small portion of the finish had chipped off of the Ice Blue kit after around a week’s worth of use. But this was after I had dropped it a couple of times and carried it around in my pocket along with all sorts of other junk!

This time around, there’s no screen present on the device like there was with the original Trine, as there’s no adjustable wattage on this device. This is replaced with an LED battery indicator which allows you to check battery life at a glance.

trine se front rear

Innokin’s removable battery technology returns for the Trine SE, if you look at the base of the device you’ll actually see the battery enclosure and two tabs either side of it.

trine se tabs battery removal

Having a removable battery means that the battery can be replaced when the original one is showing signs of wear and tear, such as not holding a charge as well as it used to, and you will be able to purchase replacement Trine batteries rather than having to throw the whole kit away.

trine se battery removed

You should expect to get around two years’ worth of use before the battery needs to be replaced. The battery is available to purchase on its own.

trine se spare battery

This means there is less of a waste footprint, and you don’t have to shell out on purchasing a brand new kit. Simply push the two tabs at the bottom and the battery will pop out, and you can slide a brand new one in.

There’s also compatibility with Innokin’s VCap pods, which are also compatible with other Innokin pod systems such as the original Trine and the Endura V. The Innokin VCap pods have a 2ml capacity and are top-filled.

trine se pod connection

VCap pods connect magnetically to the Trine SE device and are held firmly in place with very little wiggle. They are easy to remove and replace too!

Quick Start

There’s not too much else to it after you have filled up your VCap pod, this device has an auto-draw system and no power button to press so just take a draw on it to get it to fire!

Airflow can be adjusted using the airflow control on the side of the device, allowing you to open up and close down the airflow as you wish.

Innokin are always committed to safety and as such safety protections are built into the Innokin Trine SE. You have no load/high resistance protection, short circuit protection, low battery protection, overheating protection and a 10 second vaping cut-off.

An LED battery indicator allows you to check the battery level at a glance, with green meaning that you have more than 30% battery life remaining, yellow is 10%-30% and red is less than 10%. From experience, you’ll want to get this on charge once it hits red as it will run out of juice pretty quickly at this point!

Charging

Like the original Innokin Trine, the USB-C charging port is located on the side of the device, opposite to the airflow control. However, you do not get a USB-C charging cable included with the kit, so you will need to supply your own. This won’t be an issue with the vast majority of people as USB-C cables are so widely used these days!

You should use a standard output charger and charging cable with the correct charging current and voltage range, with the Innokin Trine this will charge at DC 5.0V/1.0A.

trine se usb side

If you have the Trine SE on charge and decide to take a puff on it, charging will pause and resume once you have finished taking a puff on it. Charging time is roughly an hour from flat to full.

Innokin recommend that you should charge the Trine SE as soon as the battery level drops under 10%, and not to keep battery level above 90% for extended periods of time, in order to preserve battery health.

Filling the Pod

Innokin VCap pods feature a leak proof top filling system, and you don’t even need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it.

To fill one of these, snap off the mouthpiece to reveal the filling port, insert your bottle nozzle into the large filling port and fill the 2ml pod capacity up whilst taking care not to overfill it- otherwise e-liquid will leak out!

If you are filling up a brand new VCap pod for the first time, you should wait five minutes before vaping to allow e-liquid to fully saturate the cotton, which will decrease the chances of nasty burnt hits happening.

How Does The Innokin Trine SE Perform?

Compatible with the VCap series of pods from Innokin, you get a 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pod included with the kit, and 1.2ohm pods are available to purchase separately. Innokin very kindly sent me over a pack of those so that I could try out all three with the Innokin Trine SE!

trine se two colours

I’m quite familiar with the performance of these pods as I still regularly use my Innokin Trine SE, and I used them thoroughly with the Innokin Endura V. These do offer a solid lifespan and you are looking at around a week’s worth of use per pod depending on which e-liquid you use.

It’s great that Innokin don’t release a new line of pods each time they release a new pod system, as this makes it less confusing when trying to navigate which pods to buy, and the VCap pods are some of the best you can find for a pod system.

The built in chip automatically selects the output power based on the resistance of the coil and the remaining battery life and will output up to a maximum of 25W which decreases steadily as you use it. For the device to output 25W, you must be using the 0.6ohm VCap pod.

trine se 0.6ohm pod

When using the 0.6ohm VCap pod, I find that it provides quite an intense flavour experience, and a warm vape to boot. This works best with the airflow wide open, closing the airflow down makes it a bit too intense and I don’t think that it is all that compatible with a tight mouth to lung draw. It’s best to get as much airflow as you can to this pod.

I don’t find a lot of difference between the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm VCap pods, apart from the 0.8ohm pod seems to work equally well with either an airy or a tight draw. The vape is slightly cooler, but it still packs plenty of tasty flavour.

trine se 0.8ohm pod

The 1.2ohm version is a mouth to lung pod all the way, it works best with the airflow closed down for a tight mouth to lung vape and it is also no slouch when it comes to flavour. Though it isn’t too well suited for my tastes, being a restricted lung vaper and all!

trine se 1.2ohm pod

Airflow can be adjusted to a loose mouth to lung vape/borderline restricted direct lung hit when it is fully open, or you can close it right down for a tight mouth to lung vape if you prefer a draw that is close to what you would get from a cigarette.

This isn’t a device that kicks out huge volumes of vapour though, it’s definitely not designed for that!

trine se airflow side

Battery life is pretty solid overall, and it will differ depending on which pod that you are using. The 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods will see me through a full day before I need to recharge the Innokin Trine SE, but the 1.2ohm pod will see me well into a second day’s use!

Pros

  • Beginner friendly and easy to use
  • Some stunning finishes on these devices
  • Has adjustable airflow
  • Can remove and replace the battery when it is at the end of its life, making it sustainable
  • Excellent flavour from the pods
  • Build quality is pretty robust
  • VCap pods can be refilled without having to remove the pod from the device
  • Compatible with 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm VCap pods giving you plenty of different vaping options
  • No leaks from the pods
  • Has a simple battery life indicator

Cons

  • Lack of adjustable wattage might be a deal breaker for some- if that is the case it’s worth considering the original Innokin Trine!
  • Can get a restricted lung vape, but only just, this kit is really for mouth to lung vapers only
  • Finish on the Ice Blue Kit started to chip off after a week’s use
  • Can’t see the full e-liquid capacity without having to remove the pod

Final Verdict

Here, Innokin have taken the successful formula they used for the original Trine, given it a fresh look with six new colour finishes and made it even easier to use with the auto-draw only system, making this a really accessible device that can appeal to just about any vaper.

Innokin deserve credit for the replaceable battery system that they introduced on the original Trine, as this makes this pod system an environmentally friendly and sustainable one, as you can simply switch out a battery that is at the end of its lifespan for a brand new one rather than having to buy a whole new kit. Though you should get around two years lifespan from the Trine battery!

The VCap pods that are compatible with the Trine SE are some of my favourite refillable pods, these just perform solidly well and offer good lifespan, making them a wallet friendly option.

Combined with the Trine SE, you’ve got a device here that is easy to use, delivers great flavour and will get you through a whole day’s worth of vaping.

Fresh off of our recent review of the Innokin Klypse Pro, we’ve now got the Innokin Endura V in for review, which is the latest vape pod system to roll off of the incredibly proficient Innokin production line!innokin endura v review

A legendary name within the vaping industry, Innokin have become one of the most recognisable brand names around.

They have amassed a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise that they use to great effect when designing innovative vaping kits that appeal to all types of vapers, from beginners right through to grizzled vaping veterans.

Innokin’s Endura range is a fast favourite amongst vapers, famed for the accessibility and
performance of these easy-to-use vaping kits. The Endura V joins established stablemates such as the Endura T18, T18-II, Apex and the T22.

That’s not all Innokin are renowned for though, and we’ve recently reviewed some of their excellent new releases like the Zyon and Z Pod Nano!

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Endura V?

Innokin Endura devices are designed to be easy to use vaping kits that can appeal to anyone, and the Innokin Endura V is no different.

This has been designed so that anyone can pick one of these up and enjoy a great vape straight out of the box!endura v by innokin

‘Make Vaping Easy’ is the tagline that Innokin have applied to the Endura V so simplicity is the key here- there’s no buttons on the device, you can simply fill up a pod, adjust the airflow and vape away.

It’s an affordable starter kit, that aims to provide a satisfying mouth to lung vape right out of the box.

Not sure what mouth to lung means? Then check out our guide to vaping styles!

You’ve got compatibility with three different types of Innokin’s VCAP pod range, and these are pods that have a 2ml capacity, are filled from the top and are available in resistances of 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm.

You can enjoy leak-proof filling with these pods!

VCAP pods are known for delivering incredible flavour performance, and Innokin have tinkered with these to maximise flavour delivery and improved wicking speed.

A long-lasting 1200mAh battery is built into the device which is recharged via USB-C, and the device is capable of a maximum output of 21 watts.Base of endura v pod

As there aren’t any buttons, the chip inside the device automatically determines the best power output depending on the resistance of the coil and the remaining battery life.

A 3 level battery indicator allows you to check battery life at a glance.Innokin endura V purple, white and purple

If you like to customise the draw of your vape, you can adjust the airflow with the convenient airflow adjustment slider, allowing you to tighten it up or make it looser as you please.

Finally, the Innokin Endura V is available in a range of six stunning colours allowing you to pick one that suits your vibe!

Design and Build Quality

Constructed from PCTG, the Endura V measures in at 110.5mm x 25.9mm x 15.8mm (including the pod!) making it a palm friendly pod system…unless you’ve got tiny hands!

It is fairly lightweight as well, nothing heavy about it at all.innokin endura v in hand

Six simple and straightforward colour designs are available, with Grey, Blue, White, Black, Purple and Red options.

One aspect that I noticed was that there’s a bit of a sparkly design to these, which really becomes apparent in direct sunlight!

It’s a nice little touch and more of a subtle sparkle rather than anything too dazzling.Endura V Colours

Looks wise, I’m impressed, I like the sleekness and the simplicity of this kit!

There’s no buttons and no screen here, so on the front of the device you have the ‘Endura V’ logo and an LED battery life indicator.

On one side of the device is the airflow control slider, and on the opposite side is the USB-C charging port.Endura V Airflow

At the rear is the Innokin logo.

A magnetic connection holds your VCAP pod in place, and it makes a solid and snug connection with minimal wobble.Innokin Endura V Pod and battery

No danger of the pod accidentally falling out with this device!

VCAP Pods

VCAP pods feature a clear viewing window, however when the pod is in the device you can only see about half of the e-liquid capacity.

These have a TPD-friendly 2ml capacity, feature a built in coil, and have a top filling system which we will cover in more detail below.

How to Fill the Innokin V Pods

Innokin use a top filling system with the VCAP pods, which means that you don’t even need to remove the pod to fill it up!Fill the Innokin VCAP pod

Simply:

  • Snap the black mouthpiece off on top to reveal the circular orange filling port
  • Pop your bottle nozzle in and fill away.

If you are filling a fresh pod for the first time, let e-liquid sit in it for five minutes to allow the cotton wick to properly absorb the liquid and reduce the chance of nasty burnt hits.

Now, it does say that these pods are leak-proof, and this is true, but only if you don’t overfill them!

As soon as the e-liquid nears the top of the pod then stop filling, otherwise it will squirt back out of the hole opposite the filling port!

Quick Start

This has been designed to be as beginner friendly as possible, so you really can just fill a pod up and vape one of these straight out of the box!purple innokin-endura v

That’s right, there’s no buttons, just a simple auto draw system. When you want to take a puff on the device, just draw on the mouthpiece of the pod.

Airflow

You can adjust the airflow to loosen or tighten it up depending on your own preferences, the airflow adjustment slider is located at the side of the Endura V and it features smooth travel, simply slide your finger (or thumb) up or down to make adjustments.

No load/High resistance, short circuit, low battery, overheat and auto-shut off protections are built into the device for your safety.

Charging

Located on the front of the device is the 3-level battery indicator, which allows you to check the battery life at a glance.

  • Green means you have above 30% battery left
  • Yellow is 10-30%
  • Red is below 10%.

So, when it hits red, it’s time for a charge!Innokin Endura V USB-C charge port

To recharge the Innokin Endura V, you need to locate the USB-C charging port at the side of the device and plug a suitable USB-C cable in- you don’t get one supplied with the kit.

Once done, the 1200mAh battery will charge at a rate of 1A, which isn’t the quickest around! You can expect to wait around an hour for the device to fully charge.

What I would actually recommend, if budget allows, is to have two of these in rotation. Charge one while using the other.

How Does The Innokin Endura V Perform?

Included with the Endura V is the 0.6ohm Innokin VCAP pod, and the VCAP range also has 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods available to purchase separately.Innokin VCAP Pods

I’ve had plenty of experience with the Innokin VCAP pods before, such as when I reviewed the Innokin Trine, which is a pod system that I still use to this day.

This device features a chip that smartly detects the resistance of the coil inside the VCAP pod, and outputs power up to a maximum of 21 watts depending on the coil resistance and the battery life that remains.

So, to take advantage of the 21 watt maximum power output, you need the 0.6ohm VCAP pod-conveniently one of these comes in the kit!

0.6ohm

The 0.6ohm VCAP pod provides quite an intense flavour experience, and a warm vape to boot.innokin VCAP 0.6ohm pod review

This works best with the airflow wide open, closing the airflow down makes it a bit too intense and makes me cough when taking a mouth to lung hit!

0.8oHm

I felt the 0.8ohm VCAP pod was the best of the bunch with the Endura V, so definitely consider picking up a pack or two of these when purchasing an Endura V.

This provides a superb, flavoursome mouth to lung experience and I had no issue vaping this with any of the airflow settings. Plus, I got longer out of my battery before needing to recharge than I did with the 0.6ohm pod!

1.2oHm

The 1.2ohm VCAP pod is for those that prefer a less powerful and tighter draw, and for people who want to get the most out of the battery. There’s a cooler vape on offer here, and you’ll want to close the airflow right down when using this pod too.

In my opinion, the 0.8ohm pod is the one best suited to the mouth to lung capabilities of this device, it just provides a happy middle ground and works really well with all the airflow options at your disposal.

The adjustable airflow allows you to have quite an airy mouth to lung vape (but just not quite enough for a restricted direct lung hit), and you can close it down to a cheek-suckingly tight mouth to lung vape if you so prefer.

Battery Life

A 1200mAh battery is packed into this pod system, which is large for a device of this size.

Innokin say that you can expect to get up to three days of battery life from this, though this will vary depending on which pod that you are using and how frequently you vape.white endura V

For example, with the 0.6ohm pod, I’ll get just over a days use out of this before fully depleting the battery.

With the 0.8ohm pod, I get a little longer as the device will use less power, so I’ll be able to vape well into a second day.

The 1.2ohm pod is the most efficient one on the battery, and with my vaping habits I will get two days before needing a recharge with this pod.

Pros

  • Very easy to use
  • Really tidy vape from the VCAP pods!
  • Well-made device
  • Easy to check battery life at a glance
  • Top filling system means the pod doesn’t need to be removed in order to fill it
  • Feels good in hand
  • Great battery life
  • Very competitively priced- under £10 in the UK!

Cons

  • Mouth to lung only, no restricted direct lung hit option (Subjective)
  • Not the quickest at charging
  • Have to remove the pod to see exactly how much e-liquid you have left
  • Pods will leak out of the top if overfilled
  • Included 0.6ohm pod might be a touch too much for MTL vaping- 0.8ohm pod is a better fit!

Final Verdict

Sometimes, I just fancy picking up a device, filling a pod up and just vaping away without any fuss, and I can do that in style here with the Innokin Endura V!

Just pop a pod in and vape away, you don’t have to muck about with any settings or anything to get going.

I can quite happily chuck a couple of these in my bag for a weekend away and know that they will offer me a great vape.

It is an excellent option if you are looking to switch over from disposable vapes as most importantly it is dead easy to use, it is superb with nicotine salt based e-liquids (which are used in disposable devices too) and it is available at just £9.99 on Vape Club – a real bargain I must add!

For that price you are getting a great performing pod system, that will give you a really nice vape, and you can expect these devices to last too, thanks to Innokin’s excellent build quality.

So, what are your thoughts on the Endura V? Have you grabbed one of these bargain pod systems already? Let us know in the comments!

We’ve got the next evolution in the Klypse series – the Innokin Klypse Pro!

airlfow side

Never one to rest on their laurels, Innokin are back with another pod kit!

Innokin are a massive name in the vaping industry and are one of the most recognisable brands.

They possess huge industry knowledge and utilise this to come up with new and innovative vaping kits that can appeal to all types of vapers. They are also known to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry when designing new kits.

The Klypse Pro is another addition to the Klypse range, which also features the original Innokin Klypse, the Klypse Mecha and Klypse Zip to name a few.

We’ve also looked at other Innokin devices quite recently, like the Zyon, Trine and the Z Pod Nano.

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Klypse Pro?

This is the successor to the smash hit Innokin Klypse pod kit, which in the 2022 Ecigclick Awards picked up the ‘Best Pod Vape’ and was runner up in the ‘Best For Beginners Vape Kit’.

Best pod vape 2022

It was that much of a success, it picked up several other major international vaping awards too!

Building on the solid foundations that the Innokin Klypse laid, the Klypse Pro adds in precision adjustable airflow and variable wattage from 6-25 watts. A small hidden screen displays your vaping data.

klypse pro screen

A single button control system makes it easy to adjust power settings. That’s not all though!

The built in battery is much larger this time around, packing in a 1000mAh battery over the original Klypse’s 700mAh one, allowing you even more vaping time. And a USB-C charging cable is included in the kit.

klypse pro battery

The Klypse pods have also received an upgrade too, with longer coil lifespan, pure flavour reproduction and a 3 layer leakproof structure.

klypse pro pods

This is compatible with all of the previous Klypse kits and pods.

klypse pro compatibility

These are also available with coil resistances of 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm. So there are options here for both Mouth To Lung (MTL) and Restricted Direct Lung (RDL) vapers.

Unsure of what those terms are? Have a look at our Guide to Vape Styles to find out more!

klypse pro features

One of the complaints with the original Klypse was that you only received one 0.8ohm pod in the kit. Well this time around Innokin have generously included two pods with the Klypse Pro kit and you get both the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm ones!

There are 8 colours to choose from: Black, Blue, Dark Violet, Grey, Red, Rose Purple, Green and Silver.

Many thanks to Innokin for sending in the Innokin Klypse Pro for review. Let’s have a deeper look at this pod system. As always, all views are my own!

Design & Build Quality

At a glance, this looks extremely similar to the original Innokin Klypse. Even the dimensions aren’t that much different too with the Klypse Pro measuring in at 31.5mm x 16mm x 97mm.

The looks were a winner with the original Klypse so hey, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and all that!

innokin klypse pro handshot

The overall profile of the Klypse Pro is pretty impressive considering as Innokin have squeezed more features in here. Including a larger battery, adjustable airflow and a screen. With the Klypse Pro only being a couple of millimetres larger than the original Klypse.

Innokin were very generous and sent me the Red, Rose-Purple, Silver and Blue colour options.

innokin klypse pro packaging

And these do look excellent, with a real premium feel to the finish of the device.

innokin klypse pro

The finish is pretty scratchproof too and has stood up to heavy use whilst I have been using the Klypse Pro devices. With not a single scratch to mention on any of them. And I do hammer my vaping kits!

One of the main selling points on the original Klypse was the magnetic dust-proof cap. Which you could pop on the device over the pod to stop dust and lint from getting into the pod itself whilst it is in your pocket or bag. I’m pleased to say that this feature makes a return here.

innokin klypse pro colours

The cap snugly fits onto the top of the Klypse Pro, covering the pod up when not in use. Although the fit is a little too on the snug side – you have got to give it a good push to get it down!

When you are using the Klypse Pro you can simply attach the magnetic cap to the base of the device, there are magnets present in the base which hold the cap firmly in place.

Also, the magnets in the base are strong, meaning that you can stick the Klypse Pro to metallic surfaces!

One of the new features of the Klypse Pro is the screen, which can be found towards the bottom of the device along the black bar, pretty much directly underneath the power button. It’s quite discreet and you need to take a puff on the device or push the power button to activate it.

klypse pro fire button

This is quite a basic screen and the same screen is also found on the Innokin Z Pod Nano and the Zyon.

This displays the wattage level, battery life and Innokin logo and switches to a vape timer when you take a puff. It will also, very briefly, display the coil resistance when you insert a pod.

That’s it though, there’s no information on coil resistance on the move or a puff counter for example!

pink innokin klypse pro

It does the job it needs to do though and is visible in all light conditions. And as a result of the screen being added in – the LED light indicator found on the original Klypse is not included.

Now the Innokin logo lights up and displays the current battery level, allowing you to check battery status at a glance.

The LED light indicator on the original Klypse had complaints that it was a bit dim and displayed little information.

Now, on the Klypse Pro, this displays three different colours depending on the current battery level and brightly too! So it is good to see that Innokin took that on board and improved it for the Klypse Pro.

Of course, you can always have a look at the screen to get a better idea of battery life!

Another new addition is the precision airflow control, which you’ll find on the main body of the device. You can fine tune the airflow now, allowing you to vape MTL or RDL and the airflow control itself is buttery smooth.

blue innokin klypse pro

The pods connect magnetically to the Klypse device and are held very firmly in place. At times, this feels a little too firm though and I’ve had to give the pod a good wriggle and pull to get it out.

At least you don’t have to worry about accidentally losing a pod with the Klypse Pro!

Quick Start Guide

How To Fill The Klypse Pro Pod

  • Klypse pods are side filled and you need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it.
  • The side filling port is located, yes you guessed it, on the side of the Klypse pod. You’ve got to pull the silicon filling port cover to one side in order to reveal the filling port.
  • Insert your bottle nozzle and fill the pod up slowly and carefully in order to avoid leaks. Then replace the silicon filling port cover.

klypse pro pod fill port

If you are filling a fresh pod up for the first time, let it stand for five minutes to allow the e-liquid to fully saturate the cotton.

Operation

klypse pro operation details

Three clicks of the power button turn the device on and three clicks will turn it back off.

When turning it on, the Innokin logo on the body of the device will flash Red, Yellow and Green sequentially.

The power button does not actually fire the device, it is used for operating the device only.

Thank you Innokin!

One of my pet hates is having a power button to fire a device on a draw-activated system, so it’s great to see this disabled by default on the Klypse Pro.

Adjusting the wattage is done by double clicking the power button and the screen will begin to blink.

You can adjust the wattage from 6-25 watts in 0.5w increments. Keep pushing the power button until you have reached your desired power output setting, then either wait five seconds or take a puff on the device to lock it in.

Six safety protections are built into the device, with Low Battery alarm, No Load, High Resistance, Short Circuit, Auto-Shut Off and Overheating protections all built in.

Charging

A 1000mAh battery is built into the Innokin Klypse Pro and you get a USB-C cable included within the kit.

usb-c klypse pro

Plug the USB-C cable into the USB-C port on the base of the Klypse Pro and then plug the cable into a suitable power source to charge the device.

This recharges via USB-C at 5V/1A, so you are looking at around 45 minutes to an hour for a full charge.

How Does The Innokin Klypse Pro Perform?

You get the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm Klypse pods included with the kit. The 1.2ohm pods are available separately to purchase.

Innokin kindly sent us a pack of the 1.2ohm pods along with the Klypse Kit so I’ll be covering those too!

innokin klypse pro in hand

If you are upgrading from an existing Klypse kit then don’t worry, as any pods you still might have will be compatible with the Klypse Pro.

0.6ohm Pod

I started off with the 0.6ohm pod, which Innokin recommend to use in the 20-22W wattage range.

Though my sweet-spot for this pod was the 23.5W setting, you can use this pod to really make use of the maximum 25W output of the Klypse Pro!

This delivers a smooth vape that is warmer than the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods. It packs plenty of flavour, and decent vapour production too. If you like a restricted lung hit, then this is the pod you will want to use. But you can get a loose, warm mouth to lung draw from it.

0.8ohm Pod

Next up, was the 0.8ohm pod. Innokin recommend this one for use in the 12-13W range, so this is a pod for mouth to lung vapers. You don’t want to push the wattage too high with this pod as it isn’t designed for that.

pod 0.8ohm

This is one of the better mouth to lung pods I have tried! Flavour is excellent here too, just like the 0.6ohm pod, really picking up the notes of the tobacco e-liquids I was vaping in it and it suits a long and slow draw.

1.2ohm Pod

Finally, I tried out the 1.2ohm pod. This is recommended for use in the 11-12W range and is another one for mouth to lung vapers.

If you like a really tight draw, then this is the pod for you, as this suits having the airflow closed right down.

Again, there’s an impressive, flavoursome vape to be found here and the coolest vape out of them all. This pod was also the most economical on e-liquid out of the three of them!

Airflow

Airflow is easily adjusted with the precision airflow control. You can smoothly adjust the airflow and really dial in your preferred setting.

With the airflow wide open you are looking at a fairly restricted direct lung hit and you can close it right down to a very tight mouth to lung draw.

innokin klypse pro parts

I’d say there’s more options here for the mouth to lung vaper, as when the airflow is fully open this is only just about a restricted direct lung hit available!

Pod / Battery Life

Pod lifespan is very good. I’ve had this kit in my possession for a little while now and my 0.6ohm pod is only just starting show signs that it is reaching the end of its lifespan. Whereas the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods are still going strong.

Though I haven’t used those as often as the 0.6ohm pod!

Both 50/50 and 60/40 VG/PG ratios work just fine in the Klypse pods, making them ideal for use with 10mg or 20mg nicotine salt based e-liquids.

If you vape freebase nicotine, you probably are going to want to use strengths of 6mg and above in here.

Battery life is pretty spot on. I can run this for virtually a full day with the 0.6ohm pod at 22 watts. I can get nearly two days use out of it with the 0.8ohm pod at 13W. Which will please mouth to lung vapers no end!

Pros

  • Outstanding value for money
  • Rock solid build quality
  • Appealing looks
  • Very good performance
  • Magnetic cap keeps dust and lint out of your pod
  • All day battery life
  • Easy to use
  • Appeals to mouth to lung and restricted direct to lung vapers
  • 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods included in the kit
  • No leaks from the pod

Cons

  • Very basic screen
  • Magnetic cap can get lost easily
  • Can be difficult to remove the pod
  • Pod isn’t fully visible when installed on the device

Final Verdict

One aspect of the Innokin Klypse Pro that absolutely amazed me was the price point in the UK. When I first received it for review, it wasn’t yet available in the UK and I was unable to initially get an idea of the price.

However, whilst finishing off writing this review, I did a last minute Google search which showed that it is now available with a lot of UK based online retailers and I couldn’t believe the price!

I initially thought that this would retail in the £20-25 range, but I couldn’t be more wrong.

Depending on where you look, you can pick up this little beauty for as little as £11-£15!

Now that represents incredible value for money. In my opinion this makes this kit a hugely attractive option when you consider what you are getting for your money.

You’ve got a great looking pod system that is solidly built, has good battery life, is compatible with a range of different pods and vapes really well. What’s not to like there? For me you can’t really do much better for your money.

Well done to Innokin for refreshing the popular Klypse with a whole host of welcome additions and keeping it at a competitive price point!

Many thanks to Innokin for sending the Klypse Pro in for review! This is available in the UK now.

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Z Pod Nano?

A very small form factor device…in fact one of the smallest pod kits on the market to date!

Innokin Z Pod Nano in hand

And this one is marketed squarely at Mouth To Lung vapers (MTL). We tell you what this term means in our Guide To Vape Styles!

Included in the kit are 0.8ohm and 1.0ohm pods. 1.2ohm pods are also available separately if you prefer an even tighter mouth to lung draw.

The airflow inlet is actually located on the base of the pod itself and you can adjust the airflow between two options.

Design & Build Quality

Now this really is a diddy little pod system, it measures in at a tiny 26.5mm x 21.5mm x 82.25mm and weighs only 45.3g.

It gets absolutely swallowed up in my hand and is absolutely one of the smallest pod systems that I have ever had my hands on!

small vape pod z pod nano

It features an Aluminium and Polycarbonate construction and despite its small stature it actually feels pretty solid and robust.

z pod nano colours

The pod features a 2ml capacity and has a drip tip built into it, with a fixed coil inside.

There is a filling port located on the pod and a dual airflow selector on the base. These pods connect magnetically to the Z Pod Nano device and a transparent viewing window allows you to clearly see how much e-liquid you have left in the tank.

z pod nano features

On the front of the device is the OLED screen, which displays the battery level, output wattage and a puff timer. The screen is clear and easy to read – even in direct sunlight!

screen on innokin z pod

I do really like the look of this kit. It is great to hold in the hand and it’s tiny enough that you could chuck it in your pocket and not even realise it’s there. In fact you could chuck a couple of these in your pocket and not even know they are there!

Quick Start Guide

Filling The Pod

First things first, you will need to fill up the pod. And with the design of the Z Pod Nano, you don’t even need to fully remove the pod from the device.

z pod nano cartridge

Simply slide off the housing to reveal the fill port on the front on the pod, pull the silicone cover to one side and fill up through the filling port.

z pod nano pod

If you are filling up a fresh pod for the first time, it is recommended to leave it for five minutes before taking a puff on the device to allow the e-liquid to fully saturate the cotton and reduce the risk of dry hits.

Operation

It has a ‘power button’, however this is a draw activated device, so you simply take a draw on it to fire.

  • Turn device on/off: click the power button three times in two seconds.
  • Adjust output: Clicking the power button twice continuously will allow you to adjust the output wattage from 6 to 15W in 0.5W increments. You can either leave it for five seconds or take a puff to lock in the selected wattage setting.

Safety protections are built into the Z Pod Nano, with low battery, no load/ high resistance, short circuit, auto-shut off and overheating protections built in.

Airflow Adjustment

There is a fixed airflow hole at the base of the pod and the airflow switch will reveal a second airflow hole when you have it open.

z pod nano airflow adjustment

So, you have got the option of a tight mouth to lung draw with both airflow holes open and an even tighter one with the second airflow hole closed down!

magnetic connection

Charging

A USB-C port is present on the device and a USB-C cable is also handily included in the box.

usbc charge z pod nano

Simply plug the cable into the Z Pod Nano and it will charge the 700mAh battery up quickly with up to a 1A charging output. As long as you have plugged the charging cable into a suitable power source!

How Does The Innokin Z Pod Nano Perform?

I have actually had this kit in my possession for the past month, which has given me plenty of time to really put it through its paces!

innokin z pod nano in used

You get two Z Pod Nano pods included with the kit, featuring resistances of 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm.

zpod nano colour options

The 0.8ohm pod is the one that comes pre-installed with the kit and Innokin recommend that this is used in the 12-14W range. Though you won’t have any trouble if you push this up to the 15W maximum output of the Z Pod Nano.

The 1.2ohm pod comes spare in the kit and is recommended for use in the 9-12W range.

For me personally, the 0.8ohm pod was my preferred one.

yellow zpod nano

I felt that the flavour was more pronounced with this particular pod when compared to the 1.2ohm one. I could vape this quite happily on either airflow setting. With the 1.2ohm pod, I needed the second airflow hole closed off to really get anything out of it.

Lifespan Of Pods

Lifespan of the pods is very good indeed, I got two weeks out of the 0.8ohm pod before I needed to replace it. It handles 50/50 and 60/40 VG/PG e-liquid really well, making it a great option for nicotine salt based e-liquids.

You do need to check the pods for condensation build up from time to time and give it a wipe, as I did notice a fair bit of condensation every few days. I didn’t get any issues with spitting or gurgling from the pods, just a consistent vape each time.

The built in 700mAh battery couldn’t quite get me through a full days’ worth of vaping, but with a device this small I wouldn’t expect it to be packing a massive battery if I’m honest, it would likely be a bit of a logistical nightmare trying to fit a larger one in!

Pros

  • Tiny, discreet little device
  • Great kit for mouth to lung vapers
  • Useful for beginners and experienced vapers alike
  • Easy to use
  • Smooth mouth to lung draw
  • Good flavour
  • Pods last a long time
  • Variable wattage and voltage

Cons

  • Will be a touch underpowered for some users
  • Not a device for you if you have big hands!
  • Not for restricted direct lung vapers
  • Battery life is a little on the short side
  • Bit of a weak vape from the 1.2ohm pod

Final Verdict

A funky looking compact little kit, that punches well above its weight in the flavour department! The six colour options are great too.

This will please mouth to lung vapers, as it offers a very tasty and smooth mouth to lung vape especially when using the 0.8ohm pod. Having variable wattage and a couple of airflow options, is a bonus on a device this small!

As expected with an Innokin product, you get long lifespan from the pods and the build quality of the device itself is pretty robust. This kit definitely handles day to day use very well indeed, and I’m yet to pick up any scratches on the finish.

If you are in the market for a compact little mouth to lung pod system then you really can’t go wrong with this one. It is packed with all the features that you need and performs really well for its size too.

Thanks go to Innokin for sending the Z Pod Nano in for review, this is available to purchase now.

So, what are your thoughts on the Innokin Z Pod Nano, is this little device something you are interested in picking up? Let us know in the comments!

What Can We Expect From The Innokin Trine Kit?

The Innokin Trine Kit features a three in one construction. Consisting of a Vcap Innokin Pod, the Trine device and one of the most talked about features – the removable and rechargeable 1000mAh battery!

trine banner

Why is having a removable battery a big thing you ask?

trine colours front view

Well, this is something that is unheard of with a pod system. Non-removable batteries cause some of the largest issues with waste when it comes to pod systems and disposables. However this offers an environmentally friendly alternative to help cut down the waste footprint.

trine components

Batteries that have been disposed of in general waste also are a fire hazard. But with Innokin’s EcoDrain technology you’ll be able to safely discharge a battery at the end of its lifespan before disposing of it.

eco drain

You’ll also be able to replace the battery, breathing more life into your kit. Though at the time of writing these aren’t currently available within the UK but will be shortly.

fron of innokin trine

You can also keep one as a spare, handy for if you are out and about. If you run out of battery you can simply switch it for a fully recharged one. Saves you from purchasing a second kit!

trine battery

Specs wise, this kit can output up to 25W, adjustable in 0.5W increments, making it ideal for use with nicotine salt based e-liquids.

Plus it has the ability to smartly detect the resistance of the pod and automatically select a power output.

trine output

You can also adjust the airflow, giving you the option of mouth to lung (MTL) or restricted direct lung (RDL) vaping. We tell you what these terms mean in our Guide To Vape Styles!

trine airflow

An OLED screen is present on the device to show you your current power output.

The Trine Kit is compatible with Innokin’s Vcap series of pods.

The pods are available in 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm resistances. You get the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm versions included in the Trine Kit.

trine pod options

Vcap pods have a top filling system and a 2ml TPD Friendly capacity. Innokin also very kindly sent a pack of 1.2ohm pods for us to try out.

trine specs

Design & Build Quality

The Innokin Trine features an Aluminium Alloy construction. It feels lightweight to hold and has nice rounded edges to it.

innokin trine in hand

The devices all feature a Anodised finish which is pretty resistant to small scratches, fingerprints and general daily wear and tear. I was sent all six colours and I can confirm they are very nice to look at!

A clear OLED screen is present on the front of the Trine which displays the current wattage level, coil resistance and voltage output.

trine pod vape

During vaping, it displays a puff timer and will also display a safety protection if one has been triggered. The screen is clear and easy to read, I had no trouble with this even in bright light conditions.

Replaceable Battery

One of the most talked about features of the Innokin Trine Kit is the removable battery and the EcoDrain technology.

innokin trine parts

Pod kits tend to have a fixed battery, that can only be recharged a certain number of times. This results in having to throw the whole pod system away once the battery is no longer performing.

This is very wasteful, and it is good to see Innokin taking steps to tackle this problem.

innokin trine battery

Having a removable battery means that the battery can be replaced when the original one is showing signs of wear and tear, such as not holding a charge as well as it used to. You will be able to purchase replacement Trine batteries rather than having to throw the whole kit away.

That means there is less of a waste footprint and you don’t have to shell out on purchasing a brand new kit. Simply push the two tabs at the bottom and the battery will pop out.

EcoDrain technology means that the battery can be safely discharged for disposal once it has reached the end of its lifespan.

This minimises the risk of fire hazards from battery disposal. Once discharged, it should be disposed of in an approved e-waste receptacle or recycling bin.

Quick Start Guide

It’s an Innokin product, so three (rather than five) clicks of the power button will turn the device on and off.

It has both auto draw (so just take a draw on the mouthpiece) and a manual fire button.

trine black gold pink

Annoyingly, there is no way to lock the power button and use the Trine as an auto draw pod system, power buttons on pod systems are a pet hate of mine.

Take a leaf out of the SXmini Puremax book and just have a dedicated function button on the side of the device. I see absolutely no reason for a power button when they already have an auto draw system in place.

This subsequently means that each time you have finished using it and are putting it back in your pocket or bag, you must remember to turn the device off or risk it accidentally firing.

And I am so used to not having to do this with pod systems that I quite often forget with the Trine and am reminded when I hear a hissing noise in my pocket!

Adjusting Wattage/Airflow

Adjusting the wattage setting is done by clicking the power button twice whilst the Trine is switched on. Each subsequent click of the power button will increase the power in 0.5W increments from 6-25W. Once you have your desired setting, either leave the device for a couple of seconds or take a draw on it to lock it in.

trine screen

Airflow is adjusted by using the slider at the side of the Trine, which has smooth travel and offers vaping options from mouth to lung to restricted direct lung hits.

airflow trine

Low battery, no load / high resistance, short circuit, auto-shut off and overheat protections are all built into the Trine for safety.

Filling The Pod

A top filling system is found on the Vcap pods, which is pretty much standard these days with pod systems.

filling trine pod

Simply pop the Black mouthpiece off, insert your bottle nozzle into the large filling port and fill the 2ml capacity up.

Just take care not to overfill as it will come spurting back out the side!

If you are filling a new pod up, you should wait five minutes before vaping to allow e-liquid to fully saturate the cotton.

Charging

Located on the side of the Innokin Trine is the USB-C charging port and a USB-C charging cable is included in the box.

usb charge port trine

Innokin recommend that you should charge the Trine as soon as the battery level drops under 10%. Also not to keep battery level above 90% for extended periods of time, in order to preserve battery health.

You should use a standard output charger and charging cable with the correct charging current and voltage range. The Innokin Trine this will charge at DC 5.0V/1.0A.

If you have the Trine on charge and decide to take a puff on it, charging will pause and resume once you have finished taking a puff on it.

Activating the EcoDrain technology is done whilst the Trine is charging. Make sure the device is off, connect it to a charger then press the fire button 10 times to activate it. A recycling symbol will appear on screen whilst the battery is safely discharging for disposal.

Lastly, to avoid depleting the battery and to minimise wear on it, turn it off when not in use.

As there is no way of locking the fire button you should be doing this anyway if putting it in your pocket or bag to avoid misfires!

How Does The Innokin Trine Kit Perform?

Compatible with the Innokin Vcap series of pods, the Innokin Trine comes with a 0.6ohm Vcap pod pre-installed and a 0.8ohm Vcap pod comes spare in the box.

1.2ohm pods are available separately and Innokin kindly sent a pack of those over to review along with the Trine!

0.6ohm Pod

Starting off with the 0.6ohm pod, this one is designed to be used in the 20-22W region but has no issues with being pushed right up to the 25W maximum output of the Trine.

I get nice, warm flavour out of this and it would handle up to 70% VG e-liquid without any problem. The 0.6ohm pod is best suited for restricted direct to lung vaping.

Unfortunately, the 0.6ohm pod seemed to have the lowest lifespan out of the ones that I tried. My first one only lasting me four days! But that could be down to the fact I was pushing it to the limit of what the Trine can put out and the higher VG e-liquids that I was using in it!

0.8ohm Pod

The 0.8ohm pod has a recommended power output of 12-14W, but again you can push this even higher and it will chug along nicely even at 20W!

This was my preferred choice of pod. I felt there was a better balance of flavours from my e-liquids and I would get a whole day out of the battery when using this one.

It also has no issues with handling up to 70% VG e-liquid and can be vaped both mouth to lung and restricted direct to lung.

1.2ohm Pod

Finally, the 1.2ohm pod is designed to be used for mouth to lung vaping only and comes with a recommended power output of 11-14W.

50/50 and VG/PG mix ratios are best used with this pod.

I feel it is the best option out of the three if you want a true mouth to lung vape.

Performance

You’ll also expect to get over a day’s battery life out of the Trine!

Overall, I have been impressed with the flavour delivery from all three pods here! I would happily say that it is up there with some of the best pod systems that I have tried to date.

Airflow options range from a very tight mouth to lung hit with the airflow slider closed right down, to a restricted direct lung hit with the airflow slider wide open.

I’m primarily a restricted lung hit vaper, this isn’t the airiest restricted direct lung hit out there, but it does the job!

At the end of the day, this is a kit that is primarily made for vaping nicotine salts or higher strength freebase nicotine e-liquid. So if you are looking for a pod kit designed to be on the cloudy side you are best off considering something else, such as the Vaporesso XROS Pro for example.

The Innokin Trine is more of a discreet style of pod kit!

Pros

  • A truly sustainable and reusable device
  • Replaceable battery cuts down on the environmental impact
  • Very good flavour out of both the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods
  • Adjustable wattage and airflow
  • Very user friendly device
  • Mouth to lung and restricted direct to lung hit options
  • Smart looking design
  • Competitively priced

Cons

  • No way to lock the power button, can lead to accidental misfires in your bag or pocket!
  • Lifespan of the 0.6ohm pod was a little short compared to some other pod systems I have tested recently
  • Battery life is a little on the short side at higher wattage settings

Final Verdict

With the impeding ban in the UK on disposable devices, you really should be looking at moving to a kit such as the Innokin Trine if you are still using disposables.

They are easy to use, will save you money in the long term and most importantly are much better for the environment than single use disposable vapes.

Performance wise, I couldn’t really ask any more of the Innokin Trine. The Vcap pods do the job when it comes to delivering great flavour and the battery will last a full day’s worth of vaping as long as you aren’t running it at the maximum wattage setting!

Credit to Innokin for designing a pod kit that offers an easily replaceable battery. It helps to negate some of the environmental impact from battery waste and offers a safer solution for battery disposal. Hopefully next up we will see a pod system like this with replaceable coils.

It would be really good to see the vaping industry as a whole move towards offering more sustainable solutions when it comes to product manufacturing. And looking at ways to reduce the environmental impact from waste produced by vaping products much like Innokin have done here.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come!

What To Expect From The Innokin Ares Finale RTA…

As the name suggests this is an RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomiser) and is designed for MTL (Mouth To Lung) vapers.

What new features does this have to offer?

The main new feature I can make out is the dual airflow adjustment.

ares finale rta airflow

You have the usual rotating ring bottom incoming airflow adjustment. Plus on the deck just under the coil is another adjuster.

The deck is a 2 post design and Innokin state that it is easy to build on with clear wicking channel guides to make sure your Cotton is in the right place.

A quarter turn top cap gives access to the fill ports.

This comes in a 4.5ml capacity as standard, but will be reduced to 2ml for TPD regulated markets.

I am astounded at the kit contents! You get building tools, 2 different mouthpieces, cotton & wire, pre-built coils and a spare glass! In fact everything you need to get up and running apart from a mod and e-liquid!

There are 2 colours to choose from: Midnight Onyx and Celestial Silver.

Unfortunately as I have the brain of a child the word “Ares” always makes me think it is an anagram of “Arse”. Sorry.

Anyway let me know your thoughts on the Innokin Ares Finale RTA in the comments below!
