One of the latest releases from Horizon Tech is the Horizon Tech Micco N16000! A disposable vaping device that has a large range of different flavours and up to 16000 puffs from each device!

Please Note: The N16000 is not available to purchase in the UK.

Horizon Tech (or simply just Horizon) made a name for themselves with some popular sub ohm tanks. Going back to the Arctic Turbo and the Falcon, then more recently they have scored some big hits with the Aquila Sub Ohm tank and the Falcon Legend.

Not only have they specialised in sub ohm tanks, Horizon Tech have already had a foray into the disposables market, with the Binaries range of disposable vapes. Plus they have also released some pod kits such as the Talons and the Adamats.

Before I start this review I need to make you aware that this product is not available in the UK or other TPD regulated countries. The Horizon Micco N16000 will only be available in non-TPD markets such as North America.

What Can We Expect From The Horizon Tech Micco N16000?

Up to a whopping 16,000 puffs for starters if Horizon Tech’s claims are correct! And one of the most striking aspects that you will notice at first is the design of each one, with a range of different colours and lighting patterns.

20ml worth of e-liquid is contained within each one, with a range of 15 different flavours to pick from. You also have the ability to adjust the wattage from 10-20W. Also the airflow can be adjusted via a slider located at the base of the device.

horizon-micco-n16000-flavours

The e-liquids contained in the Horizon Tech Micco N16000 are blended with 50mg nicotine salt. This means that you get a quicker and more satisfying nicotine hit than traditional freebase nicotine, as it is absorbed into the bloodstream faster.

Nicotine salt offers smooth flavour delivery too, so you can vape stronger nicotine strengths without a nasty harsh throat hit.

Alternating dual mesh 0.8ohm coils are used in order to provide the smoothest possible vaping experience with no burnt taste. And Horizon Tech know how to do coils, judging by the performance of previous tanks and kits that they have released!

micco coil

Another feature of the Micco N16000 devices is the smart screen. This displays the selected wattage level, how much e-liquid is left in the device and how much battery charge remains. Pretty cool for a disposable!

In this review, I’ll be covering the function and performance of the Horizon Tech Micco N16000 disposable vapes, as well as my own personal thoughts on the e-liquid flavours. I couldn’t actually find flavour descriptions for each flavour at the time of writing, so I’ll be going off my experiences from the flavours! As with any e-liquid, your experiences may differ.

Horizon Tech kindly sent through the full range of all 15 of the Micco N16000 disposable vape flavours, so there is a lot to cover in this review!

With that in mind let’s see how these perform!

Design and Build Quality

Upon getting this out of the box and holding it, my first impression was that this is a big old beast when it comes to a disposable.

With measurements of 42mm x 25mm x 101mm it is bigger than some pod systems and vaping kits that I own. Not surprising when you consider how much is packed into this!

horizon-micco-in-hand

Micco N16000’s are constructed out of Polycarbonate and seem to be well made, they are quite robust and don’t actually feel too heavy in hand.

Quite nice to hold too, with the rounded edges sitting nicely in the palm of my hand. Although they feel robust, the large smart screen on the front is an absolute magnet for fingerprints as well as scratches.

The smart screen displays a pattern when lit up, which will happen when you take a puff on the device, adjust the power setting or put it onto charge whereby it will pulsate until it has finished charging.

micco-n16000-vape

On top of the device you’ll find a fixed mouthpiece with a pretty large bore for a disposable. At the base of the Micco N16000 is the airflow adjustment slider and a USB-C charging port.

Inside the device is 20ml worth of 50mg nicotine salt-based e-liquid as well as a rechargeable 650mah battery.

micco battery

Overall I think the Horizon Tech Micco N16000’s look awesome, they definitely stand out from the rest of the disposable crowd. The cool pattern and lighting on the smart screen definitely helps in this regard!

Quick Start Guide

You can just get on and start vaping these right out of the box without messing about if you so wish! Just remove the protective cap from the mouthpiece and the stickers from the screen and the base of the device.

Each Micco N16000 had between 85-90% battery charge straight out of the box.

Power can be adjusted by pressing the plus and minus buttons from 10-20W in 1W increments.

micco output

This will be displayed on the smart screen as you are adjusting it. When you’ve finished, the current battery level will be displayed as a percentage. Next to this, you can see the juice level displayed as three bars within a drop of liquid, so you can keep a track of how much juice you have got left inside.

micco screen

If the pattern on the smart screen isn’t to your taste, simply hold down both the plus and minus buttons to switch it off.

battery-indicator-micco-n16000-device

The wattage/power level and e-liquid level will still display on the device however whenever pressing any of the buttons and taking a draw.

Adjustable airflow is present and this can be adjusted by using the slider at the base of the device.

micco airflow

You also get USB-C fast charging and to charge the Micco N16000 you simply plug a USB-C cable into the charging port at the base and plug the cable into a power source.

Flavours

Triple Berries

triple-berriesThere’s unmistakably a huge whiff of Blackcurrant coming out of this one when I open it. And I love Blackcurrant, so this had me keen to dive in!

I don’t know if it was the smell that affected my palate, but I felt that the most dominant flavour was definitely Blackcurrant. It coated my tastebuds right from the inhale and was the only flavour note I could detect in my mouth afterwards.

I’m thinking there might be an undertone of Raspberry, but as for a third berry I’m totally lost here. I couldn’t pick up on anything else!

The sweetness level is pretty spot on. It’s sweet enough to get my mouth watering, but not so sweet that I couldn’t enjoy vaping it.

I couldn’t help but think that this tasted like a Blackcurrant Chewit, with a similar mouthfeel at the end. And I really didn’t mind that, as it was one of my favourites as a child, so I very much enjoyed vaping this one!

Strawberry Banana

strawberry-bananaThere’s a good blend between the two flavours here.

The Strawberry comes in first and tastes nice and authentic, then I pick up on an undertone of Banana. I didn’t find to be overly sweet, with the sweetness of the Strawberry being cut through by the ripe Banana undertone.

It’s pretty tasty and a straightforward flavour combination!

Cherry Peach

cherry-peachThis is a bit of an intriguing flavour combo!

I found it works quite well too! An authentic tasting Red Cherry flavour that offers a rich element to the flavour experience, mixed in with a sweet and juicy Peach flavour. I get the Cherry flavour first, with the Peach coming in towards the exhale and I found that it is the most predominant aftertaste for me.

The Peach isn’t too sweet either and blends in well with the Cherry offering a good contrast of rich and sweet flavour notes. Tasty stuff!

Sour Apple Ice

sour-apple-iceWow, this definitely hit the spot. I absolutely loved this one right from the very first puff.

There’s a sharp and sour Red Apple flavour that is followed up with a very pleasing cooling sensation. Though I’m still left with a sour taste on my tongue afterwards, though that isn’t wholly unpleasant!

It is quite like the aftertaste from a sour sweet, but not overpoweringly so.

Blending is absolutely fantastic, with this being a delightful and flavoursome vape. One I really enjoyed and used every single day since I started it. Sour Apple Ice is my pick of this range!

I enjoyed the flavour that much I am going to award it a rare 10/10!

Cotton Candy

cotton-candyI’m not really getting it with this one. In fact, I’m not really getting much flavour at all out of it.

I did try adjusting the wattage settings and having a play with the airflow, opening and closing it down, but flavour wise it just wasn’t there for me. It felt like the concentrates could have been cranked up a fair notch.

I didn’t get a lot apart from some sweetness and hint of candy flavouring, that was about it. I know Cotton Candy itself isn’t exactly bursting with flavour but I have tried other Cotton Candy flavoured disposables that packed a lot more flavour than this one did!

Gum Mint

gun-mintHmmm, couldn’t help but think of Spearmint Chewing Gum whilst I was vaping on this!

Gum Mint has a similar vibe and mouthfeel to chewing on a piece of Spearmint Chewing Gum in my opinion. The mint flavouring is right there, it seems like there’s a slight cooling sensation and there’s a texture of gum left in my mouth afterwards.

It isn’t a bad little vape if I’m going to be honest, it certainly wasn’t one of my favourites out of the range but it does the job and lives up to the name!

Cool Mint

cool-mintCool Mint is crisp mint flavouring, with a breezy cooling undertone present.

Authentic mint flavouring is present and correct on the inhale, tasting much like a mint leaf itself. With a cooling undertone coming in quite quickly and leaving a chill at the back of my throat. And that is about it, there’s not too much else to report on this one!

Saying that it did serve as a pretty good palate cleanser when I have been trying out multiple different flavours, so it did have its uses.

Cool Mint isn’t the most exciting or enticing flavour option in the Micco N16000 range but it will have its fans, that is for sure.

Watermelon Bubblegum

watermelon-bubblegumAh good, two of my least favourite flavours when it comes to vaping, so can’t say that I was hugely enthused about giving this one a go!

I found it to have quite a strong element of Watermelon present and the Bubblegum flavour is quite strong too. Generally I haven’t found the Micco N16000 range to be too over-flavoured, but I felt that this one was.

I found both the flavour elements were too strong, even with the wattage turned down.

Definitely not one for me I am afraid.

Watermelon Ice

watermelon-iceAnother one that is packing a bit too much flavour concentrate for me. I’ll still never understand how Watermelon flavours do so well but hey ho! (Editor Note: I totally agree!!)

There’s a strong hit of Watermelon from the get go, that tastes quite artificial and had a strange chemical taste in the background that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It wasn’t pleasant that is for sure.

Thankfully the cooling element is quite strong too which helps to cleanse my palate of the artificial Watermelon taste.

Again, not another one for me unfortunately!

Peach Ice

peach-iceThis could be a really great Peach flavour if only the Peach flavouring was turned up just a notch!

The Peach flavouring is nice and authentic, but just a touch too subtle especially when I compare it to other Peach ice disposables that I have tried. It also seems to be lacking in the sweetness and juiciness departments and the ice element is pretty subtle too, with just a slight cooling nip whereas I would have preferred this to be a bit stronger.

I also got a bit of a weird floral aftertaste as well, but that could well just be my palate!

Peach Ice isn’t a bad vape by any stretch, it could just do with being a touch stronger in the flavour department.

Strawberry Kiwi

strawberry-kiwiI’m enjoying the authentic tasting Strawberry and Kiwi present in this.

I felt that the Strawberry and Kiwi flavour notes tasted almost like an authentic replication of the actual fruits themselves and the two flavours are a tried and tested winning combination when blended well together.

And thankfully Horizon Tech have got the blending spot on, with the two flavour notes individually detectable rather than having one overpowering the other. It’s a pleasing flavour combination that my tastebuds enjoyed!

Lemon Lime

lemon-limeLemon and Lime is a favourite of mine when vaping a disposable. You can’t really go wrong with vaping this age old tried and tested combination.

I’m pleased to report that this is an enjoyable Lemon and Lime vape, the two citrus elements really pleasing my tastebuds.

Both of them taste quite authentic and there’s a nice zing to this vape, as well as a decent sugary hit.

Lemon and Lime disposables seem to fall into two camps for me, they either taste like a Lemon Lime Ice Lolly or like a drink. The Micco N16000 version falls into the Ice Lolly camp in my opinion.

Frozen Raspberry Lemonade

frozen-raspberry-lemonadeFrozen Raspberry Lemonade ran Sour Apple Ice very close for my pick of the range!

The citrus Lemonade flavour is the most dominant flavour on the inhale and it is very tangy too, nice and sharp with some sweetness to it!

Raspberry is more of a subtle undertone and there is koolada present at the end to represent the frozen element of this flavour. It’s not too much of a cooling element though, but this blends in very nicely with the Lemonade and Raspberry flavour notes.

Honestly if this had lower strength nicotine I would have vaped through the whole thing in no time at all.

Blue Slurpee

blue-slurpeeThere’s Blueberries, Raspberries and koolada that combine to give off the authentic vibe of a Blue Slushie fresh out of the machine. The Blueberry and Raspberry taste quite candied and the level of koolada isn’t too overpowering but rather pleasant instead, blending in well with the fruits.

The only element is lacking from an actual Blue Slushie is the brain freeze you get from overdoing it too quickly!

Which is replaced with nicotine sickness if you hit this 50mg vape too hard and too often.

Blue Razz

blue-razzThis one kind of felt like the Blue Slurpee flavour minus the koolada.

In fact, the Blueberry and Raspberry were near enough identical to the Blue Slurpee flavour. Not a bad thing, as I did enjoy vaping the Blue Slurpee!

Instead of a cooling breeze at the end, you get a tang of sharp sweetness that lingers around in my mouth long after.

I guess this is an option for people who like their Blue Raspberry flavour without any koolada present!

How Do The Horizon Tech Micco N16000 Disposable Vapes Perform?

This is the only disposable vape that I have used that features both adjustable wattage and airflow, allowing you to really tailor your device. The 650mah battery is also rechargeable, which is handy, because I dread to think how big a non-rechargeable disposable with a 20ml juice capacity would be!

Battery life is decent enough to last me right up until the end of the day, which could also be down to the strength of the e-liquid inside.

mouthpiece

I usually vape 20mg nicotine salt-based e-liquids, so with these being 50mg I vape far less than I usually would as I get my hit pretty quickly. These charge up fast too, so you aren’t waiting around once the battery has run out.

Adjusting the wattage allows you to weaken or strengthen the vape according to your tastes. I can’t handle vaping 50mg nicotine at 20W for too long, as this delivers a really powerful hit! I found that the sweet spot for me was 14-16W, but this will be different for other people depending on how strong you like your nicotine hit.

Adjustable airflow offers the option of a mouth to lung (MTL) vape when closed right down and a restricted lung (RDL) hit when opened right up. When closed down, I found that the flavour is more intense and the draw is more akin to a cigarette. We tell you what the terms MTL and RDL mean in our Guide To Vaping Styles.

usb-charge-port

Opening it right up makes for an airier vape with bigger clouds, but I felt that the flavour takes quite a hit and becomes quite washed out. Setting it in the middle was ideal for my style.

One of the big claims from Horizon Tech is that these deliver 16,000 puffs. Honestly if I did a puff count on every single one of these devices I wouldn’t be getting this review written until the middle of the year!

So what I did was measure how many puffs I had taken before one of the bars on the e-liquid level present on the smart display disappeared, using the Triple Berries flavour. I counted 4,257 puffs before noticing that the first bar out of three had blinked out. So, I multiplied that by three to get 12,771 puffs- some way short of the 16,000 puff claim but still a sizeable amount of puffs.

I got nearly a massive two weeks of use out of a single one of these! Mileage is going to vary depending on your vaping style, how long you take a puff for, the selected power level and the airflow setting.

I can say that on the ones that I have finished, the battery hasn’t run out before the e-liquid has and I’ve not had a single dry hit. I have noticed that the performance of the vape does weaken the closer you get to having an empty battery, which is pretty standard for a disposable. Charging it brings it back up to full performance in no time.

Once the e-liquid has run out, you dispose of the whole device. No part of it is reusable, it is a fully closed system, so this is quite a lot of waste if you don’t have a vape recycling scheme nearby.

Pros

  • Some great looking designs
  • Adjustable wattage and airflow to tailor your vape
  • 50mg nicotine definitely satisfies a craving
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Fast charging
  • Long lifespan with 20ml of e-liquid
  • Some extremely tasty flavours in the range
  • Smooth vape
  • Restricted direct lung hit and mouth to lung hit options

Cons

  • No part of the Horizon Micco N16000 is reusable, so this is a lot of waste
  • Lack of flavour when having the airflow fully open
  • Battery can run down fairly quickly when vaping above 15W
  • Hits pretty hard at high wattage
  • Fruit heavy range, could do with some dessert and tobacco flavours

Final Verdict

Disposables are pretty well known for kicking out very concentrated flavours and the Micco N16000’s are no different. But these offer strong tasting flavours, that have been mixed very well and didn’t taste too overpowering for the most part with a pleasantly smooth vape present.

Lifespan is a huge plus point with these devices. 20ml worth of 50mg nicotine will last most people an absolute age, the nicotine hits quickly meaning you definitely don’t need to keep puffing away constantly on one of these.

Having the ability to customise your vape with adjustable wattage and airflow is great too, you can really tailor the vape on these to suit your vaping style. And with 15 different flavours available, most people are going to be able to find a flavour they love in this range.

They look outstanding too. The design of the Micco N16000 devices really sets them apart from the rest of the pack in the disposables game and I’m sure they will get heads turning and questions asked thanks to their eye-catching looks.

Many thanks to Horizon Tech for sending in the Micco N16000 range for review, I’m sure that I’m going to be vaping all of these well into the middle of 2024!

The Horizon Talons pod kit is a new release from the Horizontech brand which seemed to have gone quiet lately!

As a brand they are most famous for their excellent sub ohm tanks such as the Falcon, Falcon 2, Falcon King, Falcon Legend plus the Sakerz and Aquila ranges.

For more details visit the Horizontech website!

More Details On The Horizon Talons…

As you can see this is a pod kit design, with a main body (mod) which contains the battery and controls and the pod (tank) section which houses the e-liquid and coil.

The mod has an internal 700mAh battery which is charged using the USB Type C port at a 1A charge rate.

talons battery

Output wise I haven’t a clue as the Horizon website has no specifications listed – as well as no kit contents list…

The mod body features a cute gradient lighting effect which changes colour to indicate the battery charge remaining.

talons light

I have no idea if this is button fire or auto draw and there is no mention as to whether you can adjust the airflow.

The pod has fixed coils, which makes life simple as you only have to refill it. When the coil performance is poor you simply dispose of the pod section and replace with a new one. No fiddly messy coil changes to contend with.

talons pods

Filling is simple – just remove the mouthpiece and add e-liquid into the valve located on the top of the pod. This apparently also releases any pressure in the pod to help prevent airlocks and leakage.

talons filling

There are 3 pod resistance options – 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1ohm. I am not sure which of these are included in the kit.

talons pod options

There are 5 colours to choose from: Classic Black, Sky Blue, Apple Green, Midnight Silver and Cinnabar Red.

Kit Includes

There is no official list of contents just this graphic – which appears to show the device, 2 unidentified pods and a USB charging cable.

Today I’ve got my sausage fingers on a big disposable puffer known as the Binaries SV15000.

Please note: This product is not available in the UK as it doesn’t meet TPD regulations. So only available for readers outside TPD regulated countries.

Binaries SV15000 disposable vapes main imageBinaries are a subsidiary of Horizon Tech (or Horizon) – the company responsible for products such as the Falcon Legend and Aquila sub ohm tanks. Although a world away from those devices, Binaries represents Horizon Tech’s first foray into disposable vapes.

The commitment is as strong as ever.

With a R&D department devoted to constantly improving products, a sales team understanding vapers requirements and product marketing that focuses on supporting partners and dealers, Binaries are gradually increasing their portfolio of disposable products.

Binaries Logo

They state that they cater for both TPD and larger capacity disposables but so far we’ve only looked at the latter.

Take the Binaries SE6000, TH6000 and 6K disposables. All three are typical examples of their focus on flavour, coil structure and design. Even if they aren’t TPD compliant.

The SV15000 disposable vape once again sees Binaries returning with a ‘big puffer’ as Ecigclick founder Jonny would say.

It’s time we took a look.

What Can We Expect From the Binaries SV15000 Disposable Vapes?

The Binaries SV15000 is not only a big puffer but it’s a big hitter too!

SV15000 hand check imageIt contains 20ml of E-liquid with a nicotine strength of 50mg. So don’t expect to find this bad boy on any vape shop shelves in the UK.

Because it contains so much E-liquid, the SV15000 uses a rechargeable 600mAh integrated battery.

Please note: You don’t get a charging cable with the device.

15,000 puffs is a lot of puffs. I’ve often wondered how this impacts the life span of a tiny coil, usually designed for anything up to 600.

Dual Mesh Coils

Binaries have thought of that with their alternating dual mesh coils.

SV15000 dual mesh coilsSo the power alternates from one mesh coil to the other.

This will undoubtedly have a positive effect on flavour and vapour production over time and one aspect I’ll be firmly focusing on in today’s review.

The chart below demonstrates what we can expect from flavour performance.

SV15000 coil performance chart

Enough To Make My Eyes Smart

The SV15000 is solidly built and there’s no view of remaining E-liquid levels. There’s a lot to vape and over time the anxiety levels can build up. How much is left? When can I expect that inevitable dry hit?

Binaries have been keeping an ‘eye’ on that anxiety – quite literally.

With both battery and E-liquid level LED’s built into the face of the disposable.

Battery and E-liquid level monitoring LEDs

It’s not a new idea but one that’s certainly mandatory with devices of this nature. Plus I’ve always been impressed by their accuracy.

Adjustable Airflow

If you’ve ever vaped 50mg salt nicotine, you’ll know how welcoming additional airflow can be. Of course there will be that audience who still prefer a tighter draw. Now that is hardcore!

The SV15000 includes a small, recessed airflow slider on the base allowing for either A MTL (Mouth To Lung) or RDL (Restrictive Direct Lung) vape. We tell you what these terms mean in our Guide To Vape Styles.

SV15000 adjustable airflowJust don’t expect oodles of difference between the two. Pumping out a max of 15W, the dual 1.0ohm mesh coils aren’t designed for increased vapour production.

Charging

I’m going to assume you’re new to rechargeable vaping devices.

They usually rely on what’s known as a type C USB charging cable. The larger end plugs into a suitable wall outlet and the smaller end slots into the device.

Type C charging on the SV15000 disposable vapeYou’re going to need one of these once the 600mAh battery runs out of charge.

We’ll discuss how long the charging process takes and what to expect from the SV15000 during the process a bit later.

SV15000 specs

The Binaries SV15000 comes in a choice of ten different flavours. Pick from fruity, mint or beverage based categories. Expect an icy, cold inhale too.

Before we move on with the review I’d like to extend my thanks to Horizon Tech and Binaries for sending these over for the purposes of review. It’s very much appreciated.

Please note the scores are based on flavour replication, quality and consistency. Not performance – I’ll talk about that separately.

I wasn’t able to glean any flavour descriptions so I’m going in blind folded. Wish me luck!

Orange Lime Soda

Orange Lime SodaI Say:

Oh yes! Very nice indeed.

I can’t even write that the flavour peaks.. It’s there from the very first exhale. Superb.

And such a delicate blending too. Finely crafted.

The inhale is pleasantly sweet and slightly tangy with a nice icy coolant bringing up the rear. The great thing is, the Koolada never invades or swamps the flavour experience.

This is one of the finest Orange and Lime combo’s I think I’ve come across for quite a while. You’ll get both in equal measure. The citric nature of the vape really does wonders for attenuating both fruits.

This is mouth wateringly good stuff!

Lime is nearer the mark in terms of flavour authenticity against the real thing but the Orange fuses effortlessly.

Sweet, tangy, citric and packing a fruity flavour punch from start to finish.

Peach Mango Ice

Peach Mango IceI Say:

Another one where the fusion of fruity flavour is bang on!

Again, there’s a bucket load of sweetness pulled up into the draw but never interferes with the final vape experience – it simply adds to the enjoyment.

Peach and Mango can be a difficult combination to pull off anytime, let alone in a disposable vape but the Binaries SV15000 seems to manage it with apparent ease.

Both these succulent tasting fruits appear in equal measure. I honestly thought Mango was going to swamp the taste but both manifest in complete harmony.

Terrific blending and the Peach even has that slight roughness around the edges.

.. Or is it the 50mg salt nicotine? 😉

Amazing. Even the bitter twist towards the end of the vape is welcome.

Lest I forget the cooling blast of the inhale. It keeps the tonsils chilled without slicing into them.

Yup! Peach Mango Ice is another winner.

Triple Berries Ice

Triple Berries IceI Say:

What am I taking away from this one?

Well it’s packed with flavour, of that there’s no doubt but I’m just wondering if it’s a little over concentrated.

Maybe too much has been crammed inside – and one thing’s for sure. It has a healthy complement of Blueberry. I’m not very keen on that. Not that it’s any better or worse than other disposable versions. I just do not like the taste in general.

It’s like Grape. There’s no defining version in my opinion.

However I do also taste Strawberry. It adds a richness and depth to the exhale while never really showing true potential. Same can be said for the Raspberry.

That’s why I think too much effort has been made – if that’s indeed possible.

The sweetness plays into the mix quite nicely but this is one of those vapes where the cooling blast is over pronounced. It has too much presence, never really complementing the general vaping experience.

So a blending of sorts is there but not particularly conducive to my flavour palate.

Taste as we know, is subjective and if you happen to like Blueberry vapes give it a bash.

Kiwi Strawberry Ice

Kiwi Strawberry IceI Say:

A very strong, rich flavour but with an odd after taste.

That’s a shame because the initial exhale is very promising. There’s definitely more going on here than just the usual bootlace, chewy sweet version of Strawberry.

Yet that in itself is a bit of a disappointment as I was expecting something a bit more natural and fresh tasting.

It is what it is and Binaries have opted to play it ‘disposable safe’ on this occasion.

So no real surprises on that score. However, any efforts to include Kiwi are short lived in my opinion as the exhale rapidly descends into a strange mish-mash in terms of blending.

If this is Kiwi why am I reminded of Blueberry? Why? Because I receive that same repulsive sulphur and Ammonia after taste all too often.

It’s not as amplified as much as other vapes but still bothers me enough to ruin the overall flavour experience.

.. I’m expecting it with every puff and that’s exactly what I get.

The vape is sweetly balanced with a healthy tumbler full of Ice that doesn’t unsettle the tonsils. I have to give it that.

Kiwi Strawberry Ice isn’t quite the blend of fruits I was hoping for.

Blue Razz Cherry

Blue Razz Cherry

I Say:

Blue Razz Cherry carries a strong aroma straight out of the blister pack.

Flavour packed or flavour intensive? There is a difference.

Its flavour packed and that’s the difference. There’s quite a bit going on with this one, too.

This has an inhale and exhale that is full of cooling.

There’s a possibility I’m thrown off by the Cherry which is actually quite strong in this one. It carries some nice floral notes as it drifts from the exhale.

We get plenty of sweetness, perhaps something to be expected given the two fruits but the Raspberry doesn’t come across on the same level as its tiny red counterpart.

In fact it leaves the palate with thoughts of a chalky, candy like variation on the theme. Not necessarily a bad thing if sweet based vapes are your thang but for me, I always like the possibility of a bit more authenticity.

So a bit of sweet, a touch of sour, a hint or three of ice and artificial tasting Summer fruits.

Blue Razz Cherry certainly packs the flavour in and just about cuts it for blending but consider this one as more of a sweetie type of vape as opposed to a refreshing drinks based profile.

Mint

Mint

I Say:

Spearmint. Without a doubt.

And yet – it may just be my taste buds or breaking in the disposable – but there’s definitely a hint of Chocolate thrown in there!

It proves very difficult to pinpoint but there’s something else mixed in with that mint taste.

Either that or it’s not the finished article. No other disposable vapes have thrown me into a loop in the way Binaries Mint does.

So I have to be honest, it’s not the cleanest tasting Mint I’ve come across. There’s certainly more than enough flavour pumping through the exhale but the after taste also betrays that additional content.

At times I’m almost convinced by the presence of Mojito. It’s very similar but like a ghost – a hangover to everything else that precedes it.

The Koolada qualities of the vape are spot on but then I’d expect them to be. Mint vapes always benefit by the addition of an Icy cold blast to the throat.

The sweetener is also on par. In fairness it’s not a bad version of Mint but there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Not entirely sure why I get a blending of Chocolate and Mojito though! I didn’t have anything like that for tea last night..

Strawberry Banana Ice

Strawberry Banana IceI Say:

Hells Bells! That Banana is overwhelming and that’s just the aroma created when tearing open the blister baggie.

I have to say that the actual smell is very appealing – very authentic smelling. Like a ripe Banana.

.. I haven’t even started vaping it yet!

The exhale does not disappoint. The taste lives up to the smell. Very fresh, very natural tasting. Even the after taste is appealing.

Let’s put it this way. An unmistakable Banana!

But there’s more – and this is where the magic comes in. The Strawberry content is perfectly blended alongside the bendy yellow fruit. Think of a bowl of the two and it takes little imagination as to what to expect.

Strawberry Banana really is that good.

You’ll initially find the Banana but it takes very little time for that berry to twist and turn, mixing its way in. Sometime its Banana left on the palate, sometimes Strawberry.

And that’s the magic of this one. A clever use of blending that’s been meticulously weighted to produce a decent multi layered vape.

A touch of sweetness and a drop or two of ice on the tongue and it all just falls into place.

As an exceptionally impressive disposable vape flavour.

Battery Performance and Total Number of Puffs

The factory charge gave me 11 hours and here’s a breakdown on that.

I got six hrs before the battery LED switched from Green to Blue. Three and a half hours before turning to Red and an additional ninety minutes before the disposable stopped working.

That worked out at around 800 puffs with my particular vaping habits.

It takes ninety minutes to fully recharge the battery. The battery LED will pulse through Red, Blue and Green on its way back to full strength. Once complete the LED switches off and you’re good to go.

The Binaries SV15000 will not function while it’s being charged.

The first wall charge gave me an additional two hours use over the factory charge, the second a total of 15 hours and the third and final charge, 14.5 hours.

With my particular vaping habits that equates to around 4,000 puffs. Nowhere near the suggested tally unfortunately.

E-Liquid Levels

And the reason for the low puff count is 20ml of E-liquid.

It took me 29 hours to vape around 50% as indicated by the Green LED switching to Blue. Another 20 hours before hitting Red (14%) and 4.5 hours, when the LED flashed ten times.

I was out of E-liquid.

But there was something rather groovy about the battery to E-liquid ratio.

Both ran out at more or less the same time. I mean – what are the chances of that happening?

Final Review Verdict

The LED’s are awesome.

Instead of two tiny spots on the base they’re long strips on the front. Now that shows signs of innovation to me and that Binaries have placed emphasis on this as opposed to a token gesture.

Not to mention catering for the visually impaired, so full kudos.

With the airflow slider wide open I got a very decent RDL vape. The kind of vape style I always prefer so I was very much at home with the SV15000. I didn’t feel the need to make any adjustment.

If you close the slider completely there’s still the opportunity of a MTL vape but it’s too tight in my opinion. Slacken it off to around mid-position for best results – the flavour remains bangin’ too.

A few words on flavour performance throughout use. I’ve got to be honest, I was quite impressed. There were the odd occasions where it seemed like it was faltering and losing quality but would then inexplicably perk up again.

I can’t explain why. Whatever the case, the SV15000 performs more than adequately over the somewhat extended life span. The alternating dual mesh coils clearly make a difference.

The only negative I really have is with the puff count. It’s wildly off in my opinion.

But if I got the best part of 5 days use from the disposable imagine what a casual vaper might obtain.

Easily over a full week of vaping from the same SV15000. Not too shabby.

In this review, I will be taking a good look at the new Horizon Falcon Legend tank.

So will this new Falcon spread its wings and become a Legend, as the name implies or only in the minds of its creators?

Have Horizon put flavour back into sub-ohm vaping with this tank?

Let’s find out!

HorizonTech (or simply “Horizon“) manufacturing and design plant is based in Shenzhen China. They have many years of experience in not only producing excellent flavour atomisers, but they also produce regulated and disposable devices!

The Horizon Falcon range includes – the Falcon, Falcon Mini, Falcon 2 and Falcon King.

I loved my original Falcon tank and still use it occasionally!

What to Expect From the Horizon Falcon Legend Tank?

Horizon has released this tank in 5 attractive colours, Stainless Steel (under review), Black, Gun Metal, Blue, and Rainbow.

The Falcon Legend is available in two sizes – 5ml (standard) is 28×54.8mm and 2ml (TPD) is 25.5×54.8mm.

Basically, the Legend is an industry-standard sub-ohm tank, albeit it’s got a bit of oomph to it!

It comes with a ¼ turn fill cap and bottom-to-top adjustable airflow.

Horizon has included their newest 2 new coils with the kit, the M6 and M8. Both these coils are 0.15Ω Mesh coils. They use Bamboo Fibre as a wicking material.

This TPD sample of the Falcon Legend was sent in for review by Horizon!

As always my thoughts and views are my own, after a considerable testing period.

Kit Contents

Horizon Falcon Legend Tank – Design and Build Quality

For me, the 2ml version of the Legend was a little disappointing. It came with a Polycarbonate dummy tank installed, which must be replaced before use! According to the literature, a replacement glass tube is sent with your purchase in a separate box!

No replacement was sent with mine and being a cheapskate, I refused to purchase one lol.

However, I did find a bubble glass in my collection that was the right fit for the tank!

Construction

The materials for the Falcon Legend include – Stainless Steel, Polycarbonate and Delrin. For the standard version 5ml and 3.5ml Pyrex tubes are supplied.

falcon legend components

The kit includes a spare coil, a few O-rings and a user booklet.

I would say that the overall construction quality and design are good and have been executed well!

This tank will dismantle into 6 parts including the coil.

Starting At The Top

The Falcon Legend has a removable wide-bore 810 Delrin mouthpiece.

Top cap

This tank has a removable Stainless Steel top cap which has a ¼ turn design, making it simple to fill the tank with liquid.

The cap is embedded with an O-ring which stabilises the mouthpiece and has 3 knurled patterns around the edge to help with its removal.

Fill Ports

With the cap removed, you will see a black silicon gasket along with 2 kidney-shaped fill ports and the central chimney.

Looking at the rim of this part, you will notice a continuation of the knurled pattern and the chimney section.

Base Cup /Airflow

The base airflow consists of triple slots that are adjustable!

Above the airflow ring are the same 3 knurling patterns, which assist in the removal of the base/cup.

When unscrewed from the main tank section, you will see that the coil screws into the cup. The top of the coil acts as part of the chimney, it screws into the underside of the fill port section.

Looking into the connection cup you will see the reverse side of the 510 connection pin that touches the bottom of the coil.

All the standard, design and safety info has been printed on the bottom of the base cup and it has a threaded 510 post with a Gold-Plated connection pin.

The Falcon Legend has solid seals and all the threading has been well-turned!

Tank Tube

By unscrewing the base, you can easily remove the Polycarbonate dummy tank, which is installed on the 2ml version.

I swapped this dummy tank for a bubble Pyrex tube from my collection.

FYI, the width of the top, bottom and length of the glass tube all measure 20mm!

Stock Coils

The Falcon Legend is compatible with the complete F and M coil range!

This kit included 2 Bamboo Fibre wicked coils, which BTW taste great!

  • M8 0.15Ω mesh, 65 to 70W (pre-installed)
  • M6 0.15Ω mesh, 65 to 70W

The mesh in the M6 looks to be only slightly more coarse than that in the M8!

Both these new coils can be purchased in blister packs of 3.

Horizon Falcon Legend Tank – Quick Start Guide

Horizon Falcon Legend Preparation

Decide on which of the coils you want to use!

  • Prime your coil with a few drops of e-liquid on all visible cotton
  • Unscrew the base cup from the tank.
  • Screw the coil into the base cup and then screw the cup back into the tank, at this point, I like to close the bottom airflow
  • Remove the ¼ turn top cap and fill the Falcon Legend with e-liquid
  • Replace the cap and screw the tank onto a suitable device. Before your 1st firing please allow around 5-10 minutes for the cotton to soak up more liquid
  • Open the bottom airflow and enjoy a great vape.

How Does the Horizon Falcon Legend Perform?

Today, I’ll pop the Falcon Legend on the Smok Mag-18 device. The tank has been pre-installed with the M8 0.15Ω mesh coil which I will be using.

I will also be using “Strawberry Yog” from E-Juice Warehouse for this example!

The Falcon Legend produces an abundance of vapour and flavour.

However, I’m not going to blow vapour at you and say everything is perfect with this atomiser – the main annoyance for me is the noise from airflow!

Flavour/Vapour

Starting with a conservative 35W for a few toots to help bed the coil in. I had the airflow almost closed, to prove to myself that the Legend can handle a somewhat loose cool RDL draw. The flavour by the way was excellent!

The Legend comes into its own as a DTL atomiser.

With the airflow open to its fullest, I was very impressed with this version of the Falcon! It produced a lot of vapour at 65W, much more than I was expecting! With a flavour for me, that was quite outstanding.

There wasn’t much in the way of a quality change at 70W, but the warmth of the vapour was very pleasant!

I don’t like to overwhelm any coil, but I felt I had to press on to 75, 80 then 85W.

The change was quite remarkable! While the flavour was still excellent, the heat of the vapour at 85W was much too much for me and my micro-lungs rebelled lol.

But saying that I did manage to fill my small office with vapour!

Coil longevity

With this particular coil (M8 0.15Ω), I am approaching 10 days of vape time at 60W and the coil is still going strong.

Airflow

As I said above the airflow is noisy – no, make that bloody noisy – especially with a fully open airflow.

This is the noisiest atomiser I’ve experienced for a very long time!

While I have not experienced any leaks from any part of the tank, the airflow does express a minor amount of condensation at times.

Dummy Tank

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the 2ml Polycarbonate dummy tank – this tank comes installed with!

Where vaping is concerned I am very safety conscious!

So to make it clear, this is for those users with little or no experience with tanks/atomisers and also for those who don’t always read documentation!

Warning

The 2ml Polycarbonate tank must be removed and replaced before this atomizer is used for vaping!

Should the atomiser be used with the Polycarbonate tank in place, the plastic could quite well melt due to the heat of the coil at higher wattages!

As a side note for you all – I was encouraged to find that the Pyrex bubble glass which came with my Hellvape R Tank was a perfect fit!

Pros

  • Good quality and design
  • Very tasty flavour
  • Excellent vapour production
  • New range of coils

Cons

  • Polycarbonate 2ml dummy tank
  • Noisy airflow

Final Review Verdict

As I’ve said in the past, I’m not one for stock coil tanks – however, this is a good-looking, solid old-school style tank that lives up to the range name of Falcon, in its production of excellent flavour and vapour!

Truth be told, the only thing that puts me off replacing the tank should the need arise, is the 2ml Polycarbonate dummy tank! But having now replaced it for a Pyrex bubble tank, I have no big complaints with this atomiser!

Well maybe the noise from the airflow, but really that’s just a misdemeanour, as all sub-ohm tanks make some noise and I can live with it because the tank produces excellent vapour and great flavour.

I would say this tank was created for intermediate to experienced vapers.

Today I’m looking at something a little bit different with the Horizontech Binaries SE6000 disposable vapes.

Please note: This product is not available in the UK as it doesn’t meet TPD regulations. So only available for readers outside TPD regulated countries.

Binaries SE6000 product review imageHorizon (as they’re also known) are a leading vape manufacturer based in Shenzhen, china.

By combining a strong research & development team with quality assurance and leading market experts, they’ve been able to give us the likes of the hugely popular Falcon range of sub ohm tanks.

Vaping trends inevitably change and recently Horizon have been delving into the disposable vape scene. They’re responsible for the Binaries Cabin, Binaries 6K and Binaries TH6000 disposable vapes.

And they like to offer something different from the run of the mill, traditional looking device.

The Binaries SE6000 is one such example.

Visit the Binaries Website for more information!

What Can We Expect From the Binaries SE6000 Disposable vapes?

Binaries SE6000 disposable vapes designMany more vapes than the average disposable, that’s for sure!

That’s because the Binaries SE6000 contains a whopping 12ml of E-liquid. With a salt nicotine strength of 50mg don’t expect to find these in the UK or EU zones as they’re not TPD compliant.

For the rest of you, expect these disposables to last for anything in the region of a whole week.

Design and Build Quality

AS I’ve already alluded to, the Binaries SE6000 does not resemble your average disposable vape.

Binaries SE6000 chand check pic

And maybe it’s just me but doesn’t that look like a Polo Mint attached to the front?

It does have a child alluring quality, so that doesn’t quite sit right with me.

I understand Horizon have opted for a distinctive design for a reason (see also the Horizon TH6000 review) but don’t disposable vapes get bad enough media coverage as it is?

..I’ve started to rant. Stop it, Neil!

The device is made from a tough PCTG material and has a high gloss finish. It’s wide but relatively thin.

The rounded edges provide a degree of comfort when held and despite the juice volume, is both lightweight and pocket friendly.

Airflow

The Polo mint is actually a rotary airflow dial. A RDL (Restrictive Direct Lung) vape can be achieved with airflow at its maximum.

By turning the dial left (or clockwise) the four pin holes can be reduced down to restrict airflow accordingly for a MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape.

We tell you all about MTL and RDL in our Guide To Vape Styles!

Airflow on the Binaries SE6000 disposable vapesI must admit, the moulding on the dial works quite well for fine tuning adjustments even if it does protrude significantly from the main body.

Charging

Since the device is capable of lasting for anything up to 6000 puffs with the 12ml of Salt nicotine, some form of charging is required from the integrated 650mAh battery.

USB Type C is provided and the charging port is situated on the base of the disposable. So yeah, you’ll be able to stand it vertically while using but not when charging.

Binaries SE6000 chargingGravity can be a bugger when it comes to a low E-liquid capacity and wicking material. It can mean that some of the wicking inside the coil can dry out on one side.

All I can suggest is that you stand the SE6000 for a period of a few minutes once charged before vaping again. This may be the difference between a quality flavour experience and a surprise dry hit!

The AI chip also protects the disposable against low voltage, short circuiting and over vaping (8 seconds max puff time).

Mesh Coil

The Binaries SE6000 is powered by a 1.0ohm mesh coil. How much power in terms of constant wattage or voltage, I’m unable to ascertain – but the wicking is made from Bamboo pulp.

Binaries SE6000 mesh coilBamboo pulp increases absorbency ratio by 40% so I’m expecting decent, prolonged flavour production.

Functionality

Since the device relies entirely on auto draw to function it relies on a coloured LED to inform of current battery status. But that’s not all.

Horizon have taken LED functionality to another level.

The disposable not only includes a single battery strength LED indicator but a remaining E-liquid indicator too!

That’s a world first as far as I’m concerned. I know of no other disposable apart from the Binaries to include such a feature.

Binaries SE6000 LED indicators

It’s going to be interesting to see how that works and how long it takes me to hit the Red LED!

Not that I’m a chain vaper (clears throat).

Binaries SE6000 disposable vape features

Choose from an eclectic mix that spans 33 flavours including fruit, drink, tobacco, sweet and mint profiles.

A dash of Ice has been included here and there for good measure.

Ok it’s time to check these out for flavour, vapour and battery performance. Just how long will it take me to vape 12ml of E-liquid? How many times can I recharge the device?

And.. How well does the E-liquid level LED function?

I haven’t been able to glean any flavour profile descriptions so I’m afraid you’re going to have to rely on my taste buds this time.

Please note: The score line represents my own personal opinion of the flavours. Not how well the device performs.

Blue Razz Marshmallow

Binaries SE6000 Blue Razz MarshmallowI Say:

This one is cool and refreshing.

Then I get the aftertaste once the exhale dies down. This is most definitely a vape of two halves and I’m not entirely sure I like it.

I get some quality sweetness on the inhale that extends through to the rest of the vape. It’s followed up by a chalky Raspberry that carries plenty of flavour.

The Raspberry includes the same bitter qualities found in mainstream disposables so no real surprises there but it’s still tasty.

It’s what happens much later that throws me a bit. That Marshmallow smashes through just when I think the flavour is passing.

It seems to start out quite creamy but then develops a sour, out of date milk taste.

That’s the lasting impression I’m left with and it’s not very appealing.

Had the Marshmallow fused better with the Raspberry I could have seen this one scoring much higher.

Creamy Vanilla Orange Ice

Binaries SE6000 Creamy Vanilla Orange IceI Say:

It works for me!

Think Orange Ice Lolly / Popsicle or Orange Ice cream and you’re getting the vape picture.

I get plenty of cooling on the inhale – to be honest, more than I think is necessary because it is another tonsil cutter.

But the Orange flavour is very tasty and mouth watering. There’s a nice bitter quality to the exhale and maybe that’s a reason why the Icy content feel so pronounced.

There is a Vanilla creaminess to the vape but not quite as broad as I was hoping for. It’s more of a subtle effect than anything.

As an Orange Ice Cream vape, overall I think it’s one of the better ones I’ve tried. It’s only really let down by too much ice in my opinion.

Loganberry Ice

Binaries SE6000 Loganberry IceI say:

Nope! I’m not a fan of this one.

I’m afraid it turns my stomach. I was expecting a mix between Raspberry and Blackberry with all the sweetness it brings along.

Yes, there’s adequate sweetness but the fruit blend just doesn’t work for me.

It carries a repugnant taste from the start to finish. The after taste reminds me of something I’m not really allowed to write here. It’s that poor, in my opinion.

I’m almost reminded of a low quality Grape vape. If you’re familiar with my E-liquid reviews you’ll know how well they go down!

To amplify my woes, a frosty cold blast accompanies the inhale. Having said this, if you like Grape vapes with a much sweeter content give it a go, by all means.

Because Loganberry Ice is certainly not lacking in the flavour department.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

Patience is a virtue! I’m working my way through 12ml of E-liquid! As soon as I have more details I’ll update here. So please do pop back soon(ish)..

I’ve managed 7.5 hours from the factory charge. It took 2 hours to drop to mid strength (Blue LED) and a further 4 before switching to the Red LED.

When the LED turns Red you’ll get another 90 minutes before needing to recharge the battery.

It takes 50 minutes for the LED to change from a pulsing Red to Green when recharging (for some reason the Blue LED is not used to monitor charge status) and it takes a further 30 minutes to complete.

The device will simply switch off when the battery is topped up. It’s not possible to vape while it’s being charged.

UPDATE: In total I got 38.5 hours use from the device. I recharged the battery four times and each time it lasted for 11.5 hours.

It took 16 hours for the Green E-liquid Level LED to switch to Blue. Then a further 7.5 hours to turn from Blue to Red.

Don’t be fooled when the E-liquid level reads Red (low). I still managed another 15 hours use.

However, under my usual vaping habits and doing a little math I have to suggest that 4,000 puffs is nearer the mark.

Final Review Verdict

For me the flavours tested are hit and miss. The sweetness levels aren’t too bad and generally flavour properties are good. They’re very consistent.

I do sometimes wish the cooling properties of these disposables were toned down a little. Sometimes it’s so intense as to take away from the enjoyment of the vape.

Call me insane (You’re insane!) but I spent the majority of my time with airflow set wide open employing a RDL vape..

Let’s just say I’ve become acclimatised to 50mg salt nicotine.

So I can also say that vapour production is also quite dense and satisfying.

If you’re more inclined to MTL vape the option is there too. I would suggest turning the dial down to one airflow slot for this.

You could if you wish, close the dial completely for a tight MTL vape and you won’t be bothering all the anti vapers with your wispy thin cloud production.

The auto draw is super sensitive and the LED’s are bright enough to view in direct sunlight.

I may not be a fan of the design but when it comes to performance the Horizontech Binaries SE6000 delivers the goods.

Ultimately that’s what it’s all about.

Binaries TH6000 main picHorizon (as they’re also known) have many years of R&D, production and marketing behind them. They’ve reached a stage where they’re confident enough to let the vape market guide their product releases.

The marketplace, as many of you will know is currently being flooded with disposable vapes. Horizon have already released the Binaries 6K disposable vape to users outside TPD and EU zones.

Horizontech LogoThe Binaries Cabin is another with its 10K puff boast and 20ml of E-liquid.

The Binaries TH6000 must be hot off the vape press because there’s nothing to indicate its existence on the official Horizontech website. In fact there is a dedicated website separate from the main Horizon one which is focussed on just the disposable side of things!

Fear not! We’re here to give you the low-down..

Visit the Binaries Website for more information!

What Can We Expect From the Horizontech Binaries TH6000 Disposable Vapes?

Binaries TH6000 aestheticsMany hours of vaping and quite a few recharges of the integrated 650mAh battery!

The clue is in the title. We get a massive 6,000 puffs – supported by 12ml of 50VG/50PG E-liquid.

The Binaries TH6000 does have another interesting trick up its sleeve to offset the bulky appearance, though.

Design & Build Quality

It’s not so much the height and depth of the disposable that throws me. With a width of 32mm it bares more resemblance to a basic starter pod kit.

Binaries TH6000 hand check pic

It’s made from an extremely lightweight Plastic with curves and serrations across the main shell.

If I’m honest, it has to be one of the ugliest looking disposables I’ve ever eyeballed. For some reason it looks like it’s designed to split in half and the mouth piece looks hideous.

I understand that sacrifices have to be made to include 12ml of E-liquid but I’m just not a fan of the design. It looks cheap and something of a magnet to very young, prying eyes.

Airflow

We get an adjustable airflow slider tab on the front of the device. The serrations here do help in making finer adjustments and its set up for either a MTL (Mouth To Lung) or RDL (Restrictive Direct Lung) vape. We tell you what these terms mean in our Guide To Vape Styles.

TH6000 adjustable airflow

Charging

A type C USB charging port has been incorporated into the base of the device. So although the TH6000 is fully capable of standing on any surface, it won’t be while charging.

Binaries TH6000 USB charging

That could prove to be an issue as E-liquid volume decreases and parts of the cotton potentially dry when left in a horizontal position.

Mesh Coil

On the subject of cotton, the Binaries TH6000 uses Bamboo pulp for wicking material. With a 40% increase in absorbency – I’m expecting decent flavour.

The mesh coil has a resistance of 1.0ohm.

Binaries TH6000 bamboo pulp cotton

Functionality

And now for something completely different..

The disposable not only includes a single battery strength LED indicator but a remaining E-liquid indicator too! That’s a world first as far as I’m concerned. I know of no other disposable to include such a feature.

TH6000 LED indicators

It’s going to be interesting keeping an eye on that one.

Everything is held together by the AI chipset which is also responsible for tackling any safety issues the disposable may encounter.

TH6000 AI chipset

As with most disposables the Binaries TH6000 relies entirely on auto draw to function.

It’s not known at this point if the device will come in salt nicotine strengths of anything other than 50mg (5%). The Binaries Cabin does so it may just be a matter of time.

There are 8 colour schemes on offer spanning a total of 30 different flavours. These include Fruits, Sweets, Dessert, Drinks and Tobacco profiles. A dash of ice has been included here and there.

Binaries TH6000 specs

Right then.

On to checking these out for flavour, vapour and battery performance. It’s going to take a while to see if 6,000 puffs are feasible so please do check back for a future update.

I couldn’t source any flavour descriptions so I’m going in with a blind test on this trio.

Please remember that flavour is subjective. I can only tell you what I’m personally experiencing.

Cantaloupe Honeydew Watermelon Ice

TH6000 Cantaloupe Honeydew Watermelon IceI Say:

In all fairness all I can pick out is a standard Watermelon flavour.

I’m very familiar with Honeydew melon (that’s my favourite type) and this contains none of the musky, cucumber blend I associate it with.

I was also expected a little more creaminess to the texture of the vape but that’s been replaced with a synthetic, artificial taste.

This is the most common replication of Watermelon in a vape device. It’s by no means poor quality and the flavour does zip along but the profile doesn’t offer me anything new.

What I will say is that the Koolada works its magic with this fruit. It’s not too overpowering but try not to chain vape. It has a habit of building up on you.

Lemon Cotton Candy

TH6000 Lemon Cotton CandyI Say:

Impressive, if a little excessive on the sweetness.

I wouldn’t say this is a true representation of Candy Floss, though. Yes the sweetness is there but there are just too many accents of the fruit.

Having said that, the Lemon is incredibly well done. In this case you have to imagine it without the bitter, acidic notes.

It’s a very smooth inhale and I’m also reminded of a Lemon curd – blame that on the sweetness if you like.

So Lemon Cotton Candy falls in the cracks between a dessert and sweet based E-liquid flavour.

That’ll do nicely for me!

Strawberry Cookies

TH6000 Strawberry CookiesI say:

Most definitely a dessert based flavour if ever I tried one.

The Strawberry content simply pops along. It’s very rich, very creamy – just how I like my dessert profiles.

There are bakery elements present but as always with low powered disposables, they aren’t able to perform to a desired level.

More power is needed to create the warmth and texture needed and you simply won’t get that from a 1.0ohm MTL coil – mesh or not.

Still, the blend of bakery and Strawberry is passable and as a whole just about works for a Cookie style vape.

I must also say the sweetness levels are pitched about right, adding a layer of sugar to that cookie.

For a disposable, Strawberry Cookie isn’t a bad dessert vape.

The flavours aren’t too bad at all. As usual with disposables the sweetener plays a pivotal role but in the three I’ve tested thus far, it hasn’t really been a niggling issue.

Neither is the cooling agent which usually cuts a hole in my tonsils.

Call me insane (You’re insane!) but I spent the majority of my time with the airflow set wide open employing a RDL vape..

Let’s just say I’ve become acclimatised to 50mg salt nicotine.

So I can also say that vapour production is also quite dense and satisfying.

If you’re more inclined to MTL vape the option is there too, obviously and it only takes a slight nudge of the airflow slider to find the setting.

You can even close the slider completely for a tight MTL vape and you won’t be bothering all the anti vapers with your wispy thin cloud production.

The auto draw is super sensitive and the LED’s are bright enough to view in direct sunlight.

I may not be a fan of the design but when it comes to performance the Horizontech Binaries TH6000 delivers the goods.

I hold in my hand the brand new Horizontech Binaries 6K disposable vape.

Please note: This product is not available in the UK as it does not meet TPD regulations. So only available for readers outside TPD regulated countries.

Horizon Binaries 6K disposable vape checkI was quite shocked to learn these disposables were manufactured by Horizontech (also known as Horizon). Although I don’t think they’re the most prolific when it comes to knocking out new vape kits, they still wooed me back in the day with the Horizon Falcon kit.

The Aquila sub ohm tank also seemed to go down well with our very own Kevin Jeffrey.

Horizon (as they’re more commonly known) have also dabbled in the pod kit market with the likes of the Durandal kit and Asteroid MTL mesh pod kit.

Binaries disposable specs list

With years of R&D, production and marketing, Horizon ‘Allow the market to guide the product and development through science and technology’.

.. I kind of like that ideology personally and it vaguely hints at keeping up with the Jones’ of the vaping industry.

To do this they’ve focused in on the ever trending disposable vape arena.

Which leads us nicely to our own focus of attention. The Binaries 6K disposable vapes.

What Can We Expect From the Binaries 6K Disposable Vapes?

lot of vaping and quite a few recharges of the integrated 650mAh battery!

As the name suggests, 6,000 puffs are supported by a massive 15ml of E-liquid. That’s going to take quite some time and patience to test and I only hope the 1.0ohm mesh coil can keep up for the duration.

.. We’ll see.

Design & Build Quality

So the Binaries 6K disposable vape takes the form of a pseudo AIO pod kit. It carries a box shaped design and the ABS plastic mouthpiece is moulded into the top.

The opening measures around 5mm and doesn’t taper. This leads me to believe restrictive lung vaping may well be a possibility with airflow set wide open.

Binaries 6K disposable vape hand check imageOne side of the 2″ wide disposable has some nice contouring, making it comfortable to hold with my fat fingers. The ABS plastic has a glossy finish which does however tend to leave finger prints.

A type C USB charging port is integrated into the underside of the device so no vertical charging. By the way, a charging cable is not included.

Binaries type C rechargeable integrated battery

Functionality

The Binaries 6K is a disposable of two parts. The airlock chamber and the atomisation core.

The rotary dial on the side serves as an inlet for air to travel down into the airlock chamber. It then hits the atomisation core (Mesh coil) from beneath and passes up though the mouthpiece.

All this occurs while auto inhaling – there’s no fire button.

Airflow dial on side of Binaries 6K disposable
Rotary dial in MTL position

Not only is a flavoursome vape expected but ‘spit back’ or leakage into the mouth should be entirely eradicated.

Because the airflow dial has 45 degrees of adjustability we should expect either a MTL (mouth to lung) or RDL (restricted direct lung) vape. We tell you what these terms mean in our Guide To Vape Styles.

Binaries disposable airflow and airlock 2 part system

As previously mentioned the Binaries disposable is only available in 50mg salt nicotine strength. It’s not TPD compliant.

Horizon have also released the Binaries Cabin, capable of 10K puffs. It can be picked up in 20mg, 30mg or 50mg strengths.

Yet someone at Horizon seems to think 50mg is the strength of choice among vapers. It is what it is, I guess.

Anyway I do like the choice of flavours on offer. Some look genuinely different from the run of the mill in terms of disposables.

There’s a whacking 25 to choose from including Pineapple Upside Down cake, Blue Razz Lemon Muffin and Strawberry Peach Yoghurt.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: 49 x 23 x 77.2mm
  • Material: PC/2456, PC + ABS
  • E-liquid capacity: 15ml
  • Nicotine strength: 50mg
  • Battery capacity: 650mAh (rechargeable)
  • Number of puffs: Up to 6,000
  • Airflow: Adjustable rotary dial
  • Activation: Auto draw
  • Charging: Type C USB

Right!

It’s time to see what the Binaries 6K disposable vapes are capable of. What’s the flavour like? Do we get decent vapour production? How many times can we expect to charge it? Will the coil hold out for 6,000 puffs? Will it even provide 6,000 puffs?

I’m about to answer all those questions.

I wasn’t able to find any flavour descriptions for the ones tested so I’m going in blindfolded. Remember taste is subjective so please use my thoughts as a rough guide as to what to expect.

Binaries 6K – Blueberry Baked Donuts

Binaries 6K Blueberry Baked DonutsI Say:

Horizon aren’t going to like me.

This is one of the worst E-liquid flavours I’ve tried in nine years of vaping. There’s nothing wrong with how the sweetness is balanced out and it does play a major part towards the end of the exhale. It leaves a mark on the taste buds.

However, it looks like they’ve tried to combine Blueberry with a rather poor take on Donuts. I can’t detect anything that’s baked and maybe shouldn’t given the higher resistance, low powered coil.

What I’m left with is a very nauseating exhale that reminds me of something totally unprintable here!

It’s also one of the strangest versions of Blueberry I’ve ever come across, totally reliant on sweetness over content.

Unfortunately the only reason it manages a score line at all is because there’s no Menthol and the vapour quality is sound.

Binaries 6K – Butterscotch

Binaries 6K ButterscotchI Say:

Horizon are going to like me.

Bang on! This has to be the best take on a Butterscotch vape I’ve ever tried! It’s extremely pleasant and carries a highly authentic taste of Brown Sugar throughout.

Butterscotch is made even more pleasant by the ‘lingerability’ factor. It plays with the taste buds and palate long after finishing the vape.

The Butter is incredibly well replicated. It has that smooth, creaminess with just a hint of caramel running in the back ground.

Nothing is really given away on the inhale but during the exhale I’m definitely reminded of boiled Butterscotch sweets.

I think it demonstrates what’s possible when Menthol is left on the E-liquid mixing floor.

This one has definitely stimulates my taste buds!

If you’ve the slightest bent towards Butterscotch vapes I would urge you to give it a look. I was amazed by how good it was.

Binaries 6K – Fruity Portuguese Custard Tarts

Binaries 6K Portuguese Custard TartsI Say:

Wow! How has Horizon managed that! A fully fledged bakery vape from a disposable.

Again, the absence of Menthol is a contributing factor. The flavour notes are given the freedom to emerge during exhale.

The creamy Custard contains just the right amount of dairy goodness and the pastry notes filter through to the nasal cavities in a very effective way.

The sweeter elements of the vape dance subtly through the exhale but are never sickly because the Custard and puff pastry steal the scene with every vape.

I think the creaminess of that Custard is the highlight, though.

.. All this without the usual warmth required to replicate such flavours.

Rarely does a disposable vape produce such eloquent flavour notes.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

I’m afraid this is going to be ongoing! But then I’ve other flavours to test anyway so do check back for updates.

So the factory charge gave me a total of 13 hours continuous use. Not bad at all given the battery capacity.

The Blue LED on the base flashes 10 times when it’s time for a recharge. It took 80 minutes for the solid Blue LED to switch off under type C USB charging. Not quite as fast as I was expecting.

The battery then performed for a humungous 16 hours. Again that’s impressive since I have a habit of chain vaping.

So far I’ve racked up approximately 2,100 puffs. Flavour and vapour quality is still impressive.

UPDATE: Sorry for the delay. I’ve only just finished.. Finally!

I’ve used the binaries for a further six days. After another two full charges I’ve racked up 3,500 puffs. The flavour had degraded to the point where the cotton had dried and a burnt taste was being experienced.

That means a grand total of around 5,600 puffs. As far as I’m concerned that’s near as damn it – especially taking into account quite a few longer restrictive lung hits.

Final Review Verdict

We don’t usually find a side airflow arrangement on disposable vapes. They’re usually fixed slots on the base or adjustable from beneath. So does the Binaries rotary dial make a difference?

It certainly doesn’t hamper flavour quality. Neither does it stifle vapour production. I would say that the ones I tested took a more subtle approach to flavour.

They also had a cleaner taste than many disposables on the market. And full marks to Horizon for keeping sweetness balanced and blended.

The rotary dial also works quite well. Turn it clockwise for a decent MTL vape and fully counter clockwise for a very restrictive lung hit. Mid position pretty much gives you the best of both worlds.

What’s important to remember is that flavour quality takes a rapid dive as the battery depletes. That’s quite understandable given the volume of E-liquid contained inside.

So expect some flavour degradation towards the last half hour of use between charges.

Today, I’m going to take a look at a new sub-ohm tank from a company known for epic flavour toppers!

HorizonTech”.

Known simply as Horizon, their new sub-ohm tank is called the Aquila!

Horizon Aquila tank article header

Not all stock coil sub-ohm tanks are created equal, most have little differences that are either unique to the tank or a quirk of the company who designed them!

Horizon Aquila tank no liquid

Some of the past atomisers Horizon have brought us include the Falcon, Falcon 2 and Falcon King sub-ohm tanks, the excellent Sakerz Tank and then the Sakerz Master!

HorizonTech has been on the vape scene for many years, they have oodles of experience not only producing tanks but with regulated devices as well, such as the Durandal Kit, Falcon Kit and pod kits like the Magico pod Kit.

So have Horizon created another flavour and vapour banger? Let’s find out!

What Can We Expect From The Aquila Tank?

Horizon has released the new Aquila sub-ohm tank with 5 shiny options: Blue, Black, Gun Metal, SS (Stainless Steel) and Rainbow.

One of the first things that interested me about the Aquila is that Horizon have created new innovative mesh coils for it, building on those for the Sakerz Master. They include a new wicking material, which allegedly increases flavour and cloud production!

Horizon Aquila tank cotton

The spring-loaded fill port door makes filling extremely easy no matter the size of your bottle!

With the open areas within the coil cover to keep the coil saturated, there is not much chance of dry hits.

Add in the triple bottom adjustable airflow and we might have another winner here!

This product was sent to me directly from HorizonTech, for the purpose of review!

As always my views and thoughts are my own after a considerable testing period.

Build Quality & Design

My review is based on the standard 5ml version of the tank, a 2ml version is available for those living within the TPD area.

This is presented in a plastic octagon box with a few extras included, a spare coil, O-rings and an extra 3.5ml glass.

Horizon Aquila tank 3 tanks

While the tank is shiny, the overall design to me is unremarkable. However, the quality of the tank is solid with a sound design!

Horizon Aquila tank weight

The tank is primarily made of Stainless Steel, which does give a nice weighty feel to the product.

The measurements of the standard version are 59.5mm tall with a 28mm base diameter.

Horizon Aquila Tank – Overview

This tank dismantles into 6 parts including the mouthpiece and coil.

Horizon Aquila tank components

I noticed straight out of the box, the O-rings were stuck to the glass due to the heated assembly at the factory, take care or the O-rings might get damaged!

From the top, the black Delrin mouthpiece has a height of roughly 15mm tall, the internal bore is around 10mm which then tapers to about 8mm. Personally I found the mouthpiece be a little tall!

Horizon Aquila tank drip tip

The top cap has a spring-loaded button, and the cap will swing open for filling through the single wide Kidney shaped slot.

The fill slot and vape exhaust are embedded in a removable silicone stopper.

At the bottom of the cap, the assembly has an O-ring for the glass to sit over and flipping the cap over, you will see a small chimney post that screws into the coil cover, thereby joining these two parts together.

You will note another O-ring this again is for seating the glass.

The Base/Airflow

The threading on the base to connects to the main tank section, this also has an O-ring for a good seal.

The airflow for this tank is bottom adjustable, with triple slots, controlled by a rather stiff adjustment ring.

Glass Tank

As I said the Aquila is installed with a 5ml bubble glass, but if you wish there is a 3.5ml spare glass in the box.

Aquila Coils

The kit comes with 2 coils:

  • E2, Dual Mesh Encircle Element, 0.16Ω 60–70W (Installed)aquila e2 coil
  • P4, Quadruple Mesh Parallel Element, 0.14Ω 60–70Waquila p4 coil

Both coils have a minimum juice level mark, along with Bamboo Pulp Cotton as a wicking material.

Looking at the Aquila tank subjectively, it has a good design with well turned threading and has been manufactured to a high standard.

How Does the Horizon Aquila Tank Perform?

For this review, I will be testing both coils using my Geekvape L200 and my Smok G-Priv 4.

How Does The Horizon Aquila Sub Ohm Tank Perform?

I’ve got to admit I’m very picky in what atomisers I use, I normally stick with “tried and tested’s” like RDA/RTA’s for flavour and vapour production, using tanks only as a convenience thing!

There are times when I need to carry more than one device, and a good tank with a large liquid capacity comes in very handy, especially if the tank can give a better than average flavour and or vapour production.

E-Liquid and Nicotine

In this review, I used Kwik Vape “Banoffee Pie” 70/30 VG/PG e-liquid and as this is a sub-ohm tank my preferred nicotine level is 3mg!

Horizon Aquila tank mod 2 displayHorizon E2 Dual Mesh 0.16Ω

I used this coil with my Geekvape Legend 2 (L200).

Starting with a low 35W for a few DTL toots just to bed the coil in!

I knocked the wattage up to 45 & 55 then to 60W and I experienced an increasing flood of flavour with a great deal of vapour production.

Upping the wattage again to the coil maximum of 70W – this produced a lot more vapour and heat. I then pressed on to 80W, while I didn’t detect any burning of the bamboo pulp cotton the vape was incredibly hot, too much for my micro lungs lol. The flavour seemed to drop the more I used the tank at this wattage – still I did get some huge clouds!

Horizon Aquila tank toot 60w

Horizon P4 Quadruple Mesh 0.14Ω

I treated this coil as I did above and had pretty much the same experience, although the flavour did seem to be a little bit more fresh and crisp.

I was also able to push this coil a little further to 85W with no problem apart from nearly barfing up a lung due to the heat lol!

Horizon Aquila tank toot 85w

My opinion is that Horizon has understated the maximum wattage of these coils as I feel they could have been pushed further, which I would have done if it had not been for the heat produced!

My Thoughts and Experiences

The Aquila tank is good – its function is without doubt is a sub-ohm tank while restricted direct to lung is possible, the coils are better suited for DTL vaping!

The tank has given me good flavour and vapour production.

While in testing, I also tested chain vaping and the result was no dry hits over 20 rapid toots at 50W, however as I expected the tank did get quite warm!

What Could Be Improved?

The airflow ring is a bit stiff to turn, and the airflow slots collect condensation after constant use, making the tank look like its leaking!

Horizon Aquila tank cond airflow

The triple airflow is a bit on the noisy side and produces some weird sounds at times lol.

Pros

  • Great Flavour and Vapour Production
  • Quality Materials
  • 5ml and 3.5ml capacity (Standard Version)
  • Innovative mesh coils
  • Bamboo Pulp wicking
  • Spring-loaded fill port door
  • Tank & Coils – competitive retail prices

Cons

  • Bottom airflow ring is stiff
  • Airflow collects condensation
  • Noisy airflow

Final Review Verdict

My subjective feeling is this is an unremarkable-looking tank!

However, its function was good and while the Aquila will never replace my Sakerz Tank, it does come in a close 2nd for flavour and vapour production!

I love the fact that it comes with a 5ml liquid capacity and is easy to fill – however, the sounds it makes while in use can be really annoying at times!

Would I recommend the HorizonTech Aquila Tank?

I would happily recommend the Aquila for the flavour and vapour production alone, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the airflow noise!

Would I buy this Tank again due to loss or damage?

For me personally “No”.

The HorizonTech Durandal Kit is a new Mod Pod style kit.

durandal bannerHorizon became a huge name with the release of the fabulous Falcon sub ohm tank in 2018 which was followed by the Falcon King in the Falcon Kit and the Falcon 2.

What To Expect From The HorizonTech Durandal Kit…

Horizon say this kit is inspired by two of their most popular products – the Falcon range as mentioned above and the Sakerz sub ohm tank.durandal pod design

Sadly the Horizon website is lacking quite a few details about this kit which is a shame and it is hard going trying to work out what they are talking about! You will see what I mean in the text on the included images!durandal design

Anyway as mentioned above this is a larger format pod kit with a removable pod / tank section.

Inside the mod is a 3000mAh internal battery but the charging rate and time is not specified.durandal battery

A new MOSFEF chipset is included which has a 32-bit microprocessor, lots of protections and apparently will tolerate up to 18W “pressure tolerance”. Yep this website is very hard to comprehend!durandal chip

Apparently this will output up to 85W in a variable wattage user mode – no other modes are mentioned.

A 0.96in colour screen is provided to view all of your vaping data.durandal screen

The pod section has removable coils which only seem (I think) to be compatible with this kit? Anyway there are the 0.6ohm single hole dual mesh, 0.25ohm single hole single mesh and the 0.4ohm single hole single mesh. It doesn’t tell you what coils are included in the kit either.durandal coils

Capacity wise the standard version will hold up to 4ml of your own e-liquid or 2ml in TPD regulated areas. It looks like the fill port is located underneath the mouthpiece and has an anti leak valve gasket thingy.durandal pod features

Also not mentioned is the airflow – whether this is adjustable or not. It does have however a “Soothing Airflow” with two air intakes located at the top of the pod which should help to reduce leaking.durandal airflow

There are 4 colours to choose from: Dark Grey, Dark Blue, Chestnut Brown and Brownish Red.

The combination of a lack of info and confusing info on the Horizon website made this a hard preview to put together!

Anyway with what we do know this looks like it could be a great kit! Let me know your thoughts on the HorizonTech Durandal Kit in the comments below!
