Design & Build Quality

The Akso Supa X3 measures in with dimensions of 84mm x 52.5mm x 28mm, with a pod inserted this does feel quite bulky and it most definitely sticks out in my pocket.

On the front of the device is a HD screen, billed by HCigar as a ‘crystal clear’ one, and I can confirm that the screen is pretty bright and easy to see under pretty much any light conditions.

The screen itself displays the essentials, so you’ll find the current battery level, wattage output and the remaining e-liquid level- handy as you cannot actually see the e-liquid inside the pod!

Above the screen is the Boost Mode button, to give your vape that little extra kick, and below the screen is a smaller rectangular button that allows you to adjust the output wattage.

Supa X3 pods slot into the device via a sliding rail mechanism, slotting into place smoothly with a satisfying click, and when you need to replace the pod you can easily slide it back out again.

This device is also compatible with Supa X refillable pods- more on that below!

Quick Start Guide

Firstly, you’ll need to take the pod out of the device, remove the silicone plugs from the top and bottom of the pre-filled pod then slide the pod back into the device.

You can then get vaping straight away if you so wish!

How to Use the Refillable Pods

When using the Supa X refillable pods, you’ll need to utilize the adaptor as these are slightly smaller than the X3 pre-filled pods and won’t fit the Akso Supa X3 device without the adaptor.

To fill the refillable pod, open the filling port at the base of the pod and fill the pod right up to the brim.

If you are filling a new pod for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the pod for five minutes before vaping to allow the cotton to fully absorb the e-liquid.

Then, you’ll need to slide the adaptor into the device, before inserting the pod into this.

Operation

• Press and hold the boost mode button to enter boost mode, release to return to normal mode
• Three clicks of the boost mode button turns the child lock on and off
• Pressing the wattage adjustment button at the base of the screen allows you to cycle through the wattage output in 1W increments.

Charging

A USB-C charging port is located on the base of the device, however no USB-C charging cable is included in the box, therefore you will need to use one you already own or purchase one.

To charge the device, plug the USB-C charging cable into the charging port and make sure you use a suitable power outlet. Charging status is displayed on the screen.

15 different flavour options are available at launch, and these are-

Raspberry Lemonade, Blackberry Ice, Sour Apple Ice, Watermelon Ice, Honeydew Ice, Strawberry Raspberry Cherry, Blue Razz Ice, Miami Mint, Cherry Ice, Mango Ice, Summer Grape, Pink Lemonade, Strawberry Kiwi, Lime Berry Orange and Juicy Peach.

That’s quite the selection of different flavours to choose from, so if you are a fan of your fruity flavours I’m sure you will be right at home with this range!

HCigar sent in a selection of five different flavours to try out, and here are my thoughts on them.

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry

Great job with the blending of this Strawberry Raspberry Cherry flavour here!

It’s a really enjoyable, easy to vape flavour. Strawberry and Cherry are the two most dominant flavours here, tasting natural with no horrible artificial sharpness to them, with the strawberry noticeable at first and the cherry providing quite a thick texture.

Raspberry is more of an undertone in the background, adding a slight tanginess and sharpness to the blend.

This isn’t too sweet either, and it allows the flavours from the blend to really shine through. If I’m going to be picky, and I am, I would have liked a bit more raspberry in the blend but otherwise this is pretty spot on!

Miami Mint

Not too sure where the ‘Miami’ element is here as this just tasted like straight up mint to me!

Usually with a Miami Mint blend there is some sort of citrus element blending with the mint, but I really wasn’t getting it here at all.

I get a crisp mint flavour with a sweet undertone to it, and a pretty satisfying cooling effect, but no citrus that I could pick up on here!

Pink Lemonade

Oooh I would have to say that this one was my joint favourite alongside the Strawberry Raspberry Cherry blend!

I’m not usually that much of a fan of Pink Lemonade flavours but this one just seemed to hit the spot for me, I found it to be a very refreshing vape.

The Pink Lemonade blend is pretty spot on I must say and tasted exactly how I expected it to, with a delightful citrus lemonade twang to it, but what I liked most about this one is that it wasn’t overly sickly sweet but had the right balance of sweetness for me.

Summer Grape

Grape blends are a bit hit and miss for me, my better half absolutely loves them but I personally can take or leave them. There’s only ever been a few that I’ve genuinely really enjoyed!

This blend is pretty much just a straightforward purple grape blend, nothing too special about it, tasting more like an artificial grape soda flavour than the actual fruit itself.

Strawberry Kiwi

I don’t normally enjoy a Strawberry Kiwi blend all that much, but I did enjoy puffing away on this prefilled pod!

There’s natural tasting strawberry and kiwi flavourings present here, the strawberry takes centre stage in the blend with the kiwi complimenting it well and becoming more prominent towards the end.

This was probably the sweetest blend out of the five I got to try out, I could definitely pick up on the sweetener, but I didn’t find it to be too over the top.

How Does The Akso Supa X3 Perform?

With the Akso Supa X3, there’s the ability to customise your vape by adjusting the wattage from 12-22W, the airflow can also be adjusted as well.

All the pods that I was sent by HCigar contained 50mg nicotine salt blends, which are for non-TPD vaping markets. And I can tell you that these definitely hit hard!

Having a ‘Boost Mode’ button is a little intriguing, essentially this acts as a sort of souped-up power button.

When giving this a push, I instantly notice an increase in the intensity of the flavour and the nicotine hit from the extra power delivered to the mesh coil.

When vaping the 50mg blends, you certainly notice the difference, after one or two puffs using boost mode my nicotine cravings were well and truly satisfied- I couldn’t handle much more than that!

Refillable Pods

Refillable pods are available in 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm, 1.0ohm and 1.2ohm resistances, HCigar kindly sent the 0.6ohm, 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm versions in for review.

The 0.6ohm pod is for direct to lung vaping, whereas the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods I found to be more suited to mouth to lung.

I didn’t notice a lot of difference in performance between the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods during use.

I used 20mg nicotine salt e-liquids in these and got the more satisfying nicotine hit from the 0.6ohm pod. The lifespan on these is quite good as well, averaging just under a week’s worth of refills before the coils burnt out.

Battery Life

There’s a 1000mAh battery built into the device, which would get me just under a day’s worth of vaping when using the pre-filled pods and the 0.6ohm refillable one.

When using the 1.0 and 1.2ohm refillable pods, this would extend the battery life well into a second day.

Airflow

At the base of the Akso Supa X3 is an airflow adjustment sliding switch which allows you to vape either restricted direct lung or mouth to lung.

One thing that I noted was that with the airflow fully open, the flavour seemed to decrease quite drastically and the vape felt a little weak to me overall.

My personal sweet spot was having the airflow slider set to just over fully open, so it almost lines up with the arrow next to the largest airflow slot.

How Many Puffs Do You Get From An Akso Supa X3 Prefilled Pod?

So these are rated by the manufacturer to offer up to 25,000 puffs from each pod, which is a whole load of vaping from one pod!

Figures like these are usually obtained in a laboratory setting by testing a device using less than one second puffs, which often doesn’t correlate to how people, actually vape as they tend to take longer puffs. I certainly do!

Your actual puff count will depend on how long you take a puff for, how frequently you vape on the device and the selected power output. More power= less puffs.

To put the 25,000 puff claim to the test, I ran a puff count when vaping the Pink Lemonade pod, with the power output varying between 15-18W and occasional usage of the boost button.

Obviously, these are quite high capacity pods so I counted how many puffs I got until the first line on the e-liquid level blinked out, then multiplied that by four as there are four lines on the e-liquid level.

I got 1,856 puffs before the the first line disappeared, and multiplying that by 4 gave me 7,424 puffs in total.

Pros

• Lots of puffs from the prefilled pods
• Refillable pods have a good lifespan
• Easy to use, beginner friendly pod system
• Refillable and prefilled pod options
• Adjustable airflow and power
• Easy to use device

Cons

• Little on the bulky side
• Flavour is quite weak with airflow at most open setting
• Easy to accidentally fire the device or change the power setting in your pocket if the child lock is not engaged
• Takes a little while to charge up

Final Verdict

This is the first pod system that I have got to try out from HCigar and I must say that I’m pretty impressed with the Akso Supa X3!

This is a pod system that anyone can get to grips with right from the off, boasting an intuitive and easy to use design meaning that you can just get vaping one of these right out of the box.

I particularly enjoyed the ability to switch between pre-filled and refillable pod options, which makes for a sustainable pod system, the pre-filled pods boast some pretty tasty flavours and the refillable versions give you the freedom to use your own e-liquids.

At present, I can’t see a price for the Akso Supa X3 online but I’m sure that if these are priced competitively then HCigar will have a hit on their hands here!

What Is New On The HCigar VT Inpod Kit?

This is designed to be a compact, portable pod kit with a 40W version of the Towis chipset as its brains.

Inside the mod is the 1500mAh battery which is charged via the USB Type C port at up to 2A charge rate.

You can adjust the output between 5-40W to suit the coil and your vaping preference.

On the side of the mod is the 0.78in LCD display which appears to be a simple black and white affair but still tells you all you need to know.

The pod is removable, refillable and you can replace the coils.

Talking of coils there are two in the kit but the resistance is not specified. They are apparently a mesh construction though.

The pod capacity is 4.5ml – I have not seen a mention of a TPD compliant 2ml version just yet.

To refill simply lift up the silicone port on the top of the pod to access the fill port.

There are 2 colours to choose from: Passionate Red and Classic Black.

Design and Build Quality

For those interested “Towis” are the team of designers behind the HCigar Aurora 80w Squonker.

The Aurora 80W Squonk Mod comes in a very hard wearing gift box, btw the box has no thumb spaces so you end up shaking the box a lot to open it!

My Aurora is a beautiful full black brushed metal; first look at this mod the design is ergonomic making the mod very comfortable to hold in the hand, the build quality is of a high standard, the body of the mod is made of an Aluminium Alloy and comes with a white silicone e-liquid bottle installed.

510 Connection Port

The 510 threading is stainless steel that is fairly shallow, and sits under a square stainless steel plate. The sides are chamfered to match the body lines and is connected to the top of the squonk mod with Allen screws, the 510 Squonk pin is made of gold plated SS and sits on a silicone pad.

Fire button/ Screen / Adjustment buttons / USB

The fire button located on the front of the device is designed for easy operation it has a nice click to it. The Aurora features easy to read 0.96-inch TFT colour screen and runs the XT80c chipset. The Aurora also supports the various working modes of VW and TC. The triple adjustment buttons allow you to alter your various settings and enter the menu function. The micro USB port can be used to charge your battery – although not recommended by me, there is nothing in the manual that states firmware can be upgraded and there is no option via the menu system.

Front Battery door / Squonk Bottle

The front battery door has a nice large squonk hole for you to push your bottle; the door removes and reveals your battery and bottle compartment, the inside is very clean,

When the mod came to me I really had to look hard to find the battery orientation for my 18650 battery, there is a very small + at the bottom being it is the same colour as the mod it’s almost invisible, I would have liked to see the + in a contrasting colour. The juice bottle fits into the sled and is held by the plastic straw connecting to a metal rod, the juice bottle is 7ml and there is a spare plastic black bottle in the box.

Backdoor

Like the front the backdoor removable and reveals a unique slide that if slid back will allow the unit to except a 20700 or a 21700 battery. Taking a look inside the battery compartment again you will now see that you have very clear white battery orientation markings, the connection points are made of gold plated SS.

Magnets

Both doors are held on by magnets, connecting to the magnets on the body of the device, 4 magnet on the front door and 6 on the back door although 2 of these are redundant, it is my opinion that the magnets are not of a sufficient strength as there is a lot of movement to both doors once in place.

Branding

There are no markings what so ever on the outside body of the Aurora, which I find kind of strange, however when you remove the backdoor in clear white print they have printed Hcigar and Aurora as well as the normal CE markings. Although not clear when you remove the front door at the top of the mod you will see Aurora molded into the plastic of the wire cover.

A quick how to guide

• Fill your squonk bottle with your favourite e-liquid carefully screw back on the cap and straw, place the bottle into the mod, connecting the metal rod to the plastic straw.
• Place your choice of battery into the mod making sure to follow the battery orientation mark/s.
• Reassemble your doors.
• Choose an appropriate BF RDA (with squonk pin, coils and cotton).
• Slowly press your bottle so that the cotton gets soaked with liquid.

Enjoy your new Aurora 80w squonk mod.

Hang on what exactly is a squonking?

In “basic terms” squonking is a delivery method of liquid to your RDA via a 510 pin that has a hole in it, connected to a mod with a similar 510 pin the liquid gets delivered to your RDA from a small bottle that is placed inside the mod, you press the bottle to wet the cotton and vape as normal. Find out more about squonk mods here.

How does the Hcigar Aurora 80W Squonk Perform?

For this review I have filled the white silicone bottle with Chicken Shop Totally Tropical e-liquid and I will be using my black dead rabbit RDA with the squonk pin installed, I have a dual SS316L coils installed that read 0.14Ω.

Wattage/Power Mode

The Aurora will fire from 5w to 80W in VW mode and wire resistance down as low as 0.05Ω.

50w normal puff strength

Gave me a decent amount of warm vapour, and good flavour! The ramp up time was pretty quick.

Temperature Control Mode

TC 100-315°C/200-600°F and from 5w to 80w the wire resistance limit is the same as above 0.05Ω.

420f 50w power

The resulting flavour was really good; the vapour production was good and warm! The ramp up time again was pretty quick.

Dry cotton test for TC with SS316L wire, left a slight banding on the cotton.

Menu System

The menu system for me was a bit weird until I got used to it!

I’m going to do this in VW mode but the principle is the same for TC.

• To operate the menu press the menu button and the wattage is highlighted
• You can use the two adjustment buttons to scroll the different settings in VW mode
• By pressing the menu button again the setting will change colour and you will then be able to change that setting i.e. puff strength soft, normal, powerful.
• There is a sub menu that allows you to change your screen off, brightness, auto off and language there is also an option for you to see information about the product as well as resetting it back to the factory default.

There is no off option with this mod the best you can do is either pull your battery or set the auto off, the lowest setting is 15mins, You can, however, lock the Aurora by clicking the fire button 5X to lock and 5X to unlock.

The batteries/life

The Aurora will accept 3 types of batteries 18650, 20700, 21700

There is a little play to each type of battery once installed, however I didn’t get distracted by the slight movement.

Battery life disappointed me with 20700/21700 batteries 3.5hrs constant use! The 18650 only lasted me about 1.5hrs of constant use!

Filling the Silicone bottle

Very easy to do remove the bottle from the mod, unscrew the cap (the straw will come away with the cap) fill with your liquid, just over ¾ full to allow for the displacement of liquid due to the straw,Carefully screw the cap and straw back on to the bottle, and replace into the mod. It is not unusual to lose some liquid during this operation, if you do don’t fill the bottle as high next time you fill it. There are commercially available squonk fillers available on the internet which you can screw onto your 510 connection on your mod by pressing all the air out of you mod bottle it will then gravity fill your bottle (no mess) I prefer this method myself LOL.

Door magnets

It’s got to be said the magnets for the doors are rubbish, they are far too small and weak. The doors have so much play in them that it feels like they will come off! Although this has not happened to me yet – the noise of the movement is really quite annoying.

Final Review Verdict

Was my excitement at taking a look at the Towis 80w Squonk Mod justified? I’d say yes and no in equal measure, the mod has a few problems which are mainly cosmetic. I have to say though that the mod functioned very well and sailed through all my normal in use tests, it hits hard when it needs to!

Being a regulated box I would be happy to recommend the Aurora to those that are new to the world of squonking!

OK would I buy the HCigar Aurora squonk mod again should I lose or damage this one? If Hcigar changed the magnets for the doors! Yes I would.

HCigar have become well known for producing high quality mods. A lot of their earlier mods used DNA chipsets.

Apparently this has the XT235 chipset, which I admit to knowing little about – other than the XT range appear to be HCigar own range of chips and the XT80 is used in the Towis T80 and Aurora Squonk Mod I recently reviewed.

You will need 2×18650 batteries for this little growler and they are not included in the kit.

Nestled in this mod is a massive 1.3in TFT HD colour screen which looks the business.

There are the usual operating modes – Variable Wattage, Temperature Control, Power Curve Customisation and taste modes.

Below the screen are the adjustment buttons and a confirm button – which a lot of newer mods are using. 

The kit includes a weird looking “Decorative Ring” which you can see in action in the images below.

There are 4 colours available – Red/Black, Black, Silver and Blue/Black. I have also seen a few sites and even HCigar own Facebook page showing a bright green version too!

HCigar have been on the scene since 2011 as “Shenzhen HCigar Technology Co” and have produced some lovely mods which have got a lot of praise including the VT Inbox V3 Squonk Mod.

The T80 is a small single 18650 battery mod (battery not included) which is designed to sit nicely in the hand.

This will output up to 80W using the Towis XT80 chip.

The screen is an 0.96in high definition colour TFT screen which on the images looks really bright and clear.

You get VW (KA Mode) and Temp Control modes. Adjustments are performed using the front mounted adjustment buttons.

The fire button is mounted on the curved top part of the mod and a stainless steel 510 connector which promises to accommodate larger tanks sits on top of the mod. The specs say this is 28.5 mm in width so in theory a 28mm diameter tank should fit on this ok.

A whole host of protections are present to help to keep you safe including Battery Reverse Polarity Protection, Battery Low Voltage Protection, Battery Overcharge Protection, Battery Voltage Discharge Protection etc.

The mod will automatically power itself off in an hour but you can press any key to wake it back up again.

The original VT Inbox had a lot of fans – so hopefully they will like the new version.

According to HCigar themselves the V3 has a “New structure and new Silicone Bottle”.

However there is no mention of this on the HCigar website that I can see.

The VT Inbox uses an Evolv DNA 75 Temperature control chipset, which can output between 1-75W. As with all Evolv chips you can upgrade and customise using the Escribe Software.

A single 18650 battery is needed to power this and is not included in the kit.

With this being a regulated mod you get a screen and plenty of adjustments including Variable Wattage and Temperature control.

So the new version has a new squonk bottle – which seems popular as from what I have seen online people loved the original VT Inbox but the bottle was very unpopular.

This is slightly expensive but a lot of people love HCigar and find their mods to be of high quality.

Hcigar are becoming a big name in the vaping world with their highly regarded VT Inbox Squonker and their other new release the Hcigar Magic Box mechanical Squonker.

Sadly there is little information online about this – I have tried to gather all I can – but am sorry this is a little brief!

The Warwolf is a small single battery mod which promises an ergonomic design that fits well in the hand.

The mod will output between 1-80W and comes with Variable Voltage and Temperature Control Modes. The chip used is apparently the XT80C TC chip.

A bright 0.96 inch colour screen displays all the user info and settings. Depending on the power mode you will see at a glance the battery charge remaining, the mode, current power/temperature setting, coil resistance, voltage and coil material.

You can also make adjustments including screen auto off time, mod shutdown time, screen brightness and language.

At only 25mm wide the largest diameter tank you could use without overhang would appear to be 25mm.

The batteries are installed via the push fit battery compartment door.

There are 4 colours to choose from – Black, Silver, Gold and Red.

This is a bit of a mysterious little fella! The HCigar Facebook page has shared this a lot and even offered the Warwolf in online giveaways. But the Hcigar website has very scant info. I am also struggling to find many online retailers who are stocking this.

The few stockists I have seen are selling this at a really good price.

Even the Hcigar own website isn’t showing much info on this – just says “Coming Soon”.

However their Facebook page does have this video.

This is a mechanical box mod – meaning there are no electronics to keep you safe – so make sure you know your battery and build safety!

The power this would output would depend on what coils and batteries you use as there is no circuit to regulate or compensate for power fluctuations or user errors. You are not able to charge the battery when it is installed so in addition to buying batteries you will also need an external charger.

This comes with a Maze 1.1 bottom feed RDA which allows liquid from the Squonk bottle to be squeezed up into the tank to supply the coils – saving you having to keep stopping and adding a few drops of liquid to the coils. The experience of dripping without the inconvenience of dripping!

This has an 8ml squonk bottle included. The bottle is also compatible with the VT Inbox DNA75.

The housing is an aluminium box with 3D magnetic panels with I think a textured wolf (?) design – described by Hcigar as “Mysterious”. The only colour I have seen so far is the black with the textured design. The tank also appears to be black.

The Maze 1.1 RDA is a 22mm diameter tank with 2 types of adjustable airflow. There are top and bottom airflow slots. There are two posts on a velocity style deck for single, dual or multi strand coils.

A lock on the fire button is included to prevent accidental misfires. Just slide the fire button upwards to lock and downwards to unlock.

From early pre-order prices this seems to be not the cheapest Squonker out there but by no means at the more expensive end of the scale.

Looks to be a nice solid device with the metal casings. Be interesting to see some more info on this when it is released later in November.

This is the HCigar VT250 and looks to be the jewel in the Chinese company’s crown given it’s powered by the much loved DNA 250 chip.(Learn more about DNA mods here).

So we know it should operate to perfection – but what about the way it looks?

I reckon you’re either going to absolutely love it – or absolutely hate it it’s as simple as that.

There’s no getting away from the fact this is a stand out piece of vaping kit and as I can attest most definitely a ‘conversation starter’.

So let’s take a look at the HCigar VT250 designed by ‘Heartbeat’ and see if it gets my blood pumping.

As always my opinions are my own.

In The Box

I’d like to say it’s a classy box – and it kind of is given once you remove the card sleeve it’s black with a kind of silver foil effect – but it’s not what you’d call ‘luxurious’.

Not a lot in there and I was a little surprised the USB cable was your normal bog standard plain white one.

Not sure why but I was expecting at least one that was a little different – like the Vapresso flat ones for instance – not sure why it bothered me it just did.

However the instruction manual is at least a bit ‘special.’

It’s a nice quality orange coloured card that comes inside a matching envelope.

The user manual itself certainly gives you all the information you’ll need – though as we’ve come to expect the English used is a little shall we say naïve – but to be fair it all makes sense.

OK I’m not going to go into great detail about exactly what the Escribe software can do.

Suffice it to say by connecting your HCigar VT250 to the website you will be able to tinker around with the settings to the max degree and of course upgrade the firmware.

Fans of the Escribe software behind the DNA chips swear by it and if you really want to set you DNA powered device up to your exacting requirements then the world is your oyster and I mean really!

Such is the sheer amount of detail and settings and fine tuning involved I’d be here all week [literally].

Key Features of the HCigar VT250

OK we’ve already touched on the fact given this is a DNA 250 powered device you can fine tune it to the ‘unth degree.

Straight out of the box and this device is capable of 1 to 250 watts with a temperature range of 250 to 600F.

It’s powered by x3 18650 batteries and has a standard 510 connector – which can take up to a 30mm tank.

HCigar VT250 Quick Start Guide

As soon as the batteries are inserted the device powers up.

• Device asks if new or old coil
• Click fire button x5 to lock device and it won’t fire and screen will go off
• Click x5 again to unlock and turn screen back on
• For stealth mode hold the fire and down button together for five seconds – screen will go off but device will fire – doing this again will turn stealth mode off
• Hold the up and down button for 2 seconds will ‘power lock’ the deive – it will still fire and settings will be locked in.
• There are other options such as power preset mode – where you can load your selection of pre-set temps etc.
• You can set different pre-sets for each atomizer/coil you use – something that Evolve recommends.

Safety and Error Message Features

As with most of the newer higher wattage mods there’s a raft of safety features built into the HCigar VT250.

These include

• Cell-by-Cell Monitoring
• Cell Balancer
• Atomizer Protection
• Low Resistance Protection
• Short Circuit Protection
• Overheat Protection
• Low Voltage Step Down Protection

The company says you can recharge your batteries via the USB cable – however this is not something I recommend.

Design and Build Quality

Build wise everything is very nicely done.

The magnets in the battery compartment are extremely strong and there’s no rattle at all – this door isn’t going to open easily.

The battery compartment itself is very clean and whilst there’s no ribbon I had no issues removing batteries when they needed changing.

The top with the 510 connector might raise a few eyebrows given it’s raised – very raised.

However, I quite liked this as given I don’t have any 30mm tanks the ledge or lip gives makes sure the tank isn’t lost on there with even 22mm looking OK.

Design wise like I said at the start you’re either going to love it or hate it.

I’ve heard it likened to an electric shaver and yeah once that idea is in your head it really does!

However I can honestly say whilst it is heavy with the x3 batteries inside – the shape is probably the most ergonomic I’ve ever tried – it’s extremely comfortable.

The black front is rather like a woman’s hour glass shape however the shape of the up and down buttons above the USB port makes it look as if the device is scowling – maybe that’s the idea.

Now to the back and the battery compartment cover.

OK we have a quite stunning device that’s let down for me by that weird ass robot face on the ‘leather’ cover – they say it’s genuine leather and I can’t honestly tell.

However – what the heck is that robot head all about?

Luckily because it’s black on black you can’t really see it that clearly – but personally?

I hate it and think it turns an extremely classy – stylish grown up vape device into something that just looks well cheap and gimmicky.

But like I said you do have to look hard to see it so it’s not all bad.

Apart from that I really love the look and feel of the HCigar VT250 – and each time I’ve taken it out – including to my local vape shop – people have wanted to know more about it – especially the younger vapers lol.

How Does the HCigar VT250 Perform?

Given this is the first DNA chip device I’ve vaped on I wasn’t sure what to expect.

I’ve also famously said in the past that I’m more interested in tank performance than those of a device – oh how that’s changed!

From the moment I pressed the fire button and took my first vape everything seemed crisper if that makes sense.

I can only go on a complete beginner’s impression as I’m no expert nor do I have any way of measuring the exact wattage – but what I’m trying to say is as vape experiences go this is extraordinary.

At 65 watts on the Augvape Merlin Mini the whole thing was smooth – effortless and well just incredible.

On the Aspire Cleito at 70 watts it was the same and as soon as I popped on the awesome Smok TFV12 Cloud Beast King at 250watts it was just unbelievable.

The HCigar VT250 simply purrs in your hand and doesn’t skip a beat whatever you throw at it.

I’ll be honest here and say I did venture into the Escribe software and looked at setting up various pre-sets but you know me by now – I’m not that kind of vaper lol.

Neither do I dabble in temperature control much.

What I can say from gauging the

temperature [no pun intended] from other reviews out there – this little beauty handles absolutely everything you can throw at it in its stride.

What I Like

Front on and from the side I love

the design – I’ve just begin shutting the robot head out lol.

Despite its weight I love the feel of it in my hand – it fits my average sized hands comfortably.

I like the ridge or lip around the 510 connector which means smaller tanks don’t get lost on top.

And I absolutely adore the way this device vapes – it’s as if it’s in cruise control and nothing makes it break into a sweat.

What I Don’t Like

Obviously the robot head design and if they were to bring out different covers I’d be the first in the queue.

I also don’t like the screen – it is tiny.

What’s on there is of course all you really need to see – but it is tiny and does seem a little lost on there.

And from a design point of view the shape of the up and down buttons are a little gimmicky – but again that’s just my taste and they are beautifully clicky!

As for battery longevity I was able to get around 7 hours between 50 and 70 watts but the evening I spent using the Cloud Beast King I halved that easily.

Final Review Verdict

There’s no getting away from it the HCigar VT 250 is both a striking piece of kit to look at and a wondrous vape device to use.

Having never used a DNA device before I’m seriously impressed and don’t have the words to explain what a real difference an amazing chip and board can make to you vape experience – it is incredible if a little mysterious!

Get past that weird robot head and you have a mod that I can say is the best I’ve ever used.

I’m now looking for a DNA that has a more ‘grown-up’ feel to it;)
