Envii (or sometimes Venvii – I think the V on the logo causes this confusion) have been quite a low key vaping brand. They hail from offices in Los Angeles CA.

envii logoWe have reviewed a few of their products the Envii Fitt and the Envii Artisan RTA and found they performed well.

The Baby Ness is a single battery vape mod which can use either a 21700, 20700 or 18650 battery. An adaptor is included for 18650 battery use – but you get no batteries in the kit.
baby ness battery

The mod will output 120W if using a 21700 battery or 80W with 20700 or 18650.

You get the usual operating modes of Variable Wattage and Temp control. Plus additional memory, boost, curve, dry sense and smooth modes too.

The firmware is upgradeable and this does have a 2A quick charge system too, but it is recommended to use an external charger for removable mod batteries. Our guide to vape battery safety will tell you more!

The Envii Fitt e cig can be bought with pre-filled cartridges however I got my hands on just the device – which you can fill yourself.

This is another of those pod mods and the Fitt is powered by a decent 650mAH battery and features fast USB charging.

Envii FITT Starter Kit

Envii is close to high end when it comes to vape devices featuring the coveted Loch Ness – the Envii Terra RTA and the Envii Artisan.

So they’re definitely a vape company with a decent pedigree so is it a good fit or a bad fit as a Mouth to Lung (MTL) device?

Let’s take a closer look.

As always my thoughts and opinions are may own.

Inside the Box

  • Size: 75mm x 43mm x 20mm
  • Battery: Built-in 650mAh
  • Tank: 3.2ml (US Edition)/2ml (EU Edition)

Envii Fitt Quick Start Guide

  • X5 clicks on and off – red off – green on
  • Fill cartridge 75% full to avoid overspill – AVOID centre hole!
  • Snap the coil into the base of the cartridge
  • Leave to sit for 10 minutes to allow cotton to become soaked
  • Pop on the mouthpiece
  • Snap on the side panel
  • Vape!

envii fitt coil n cartridge

Buttons and Lights

  • Change from draw to fire button x3 to switch – blue light = button – purple = puff mode
  • X4 clicks to enter stealth mode.
  • Multiple white flashes means coil not detected.
  • X5 cyan flashes means device needs to cool and shuts down – happens after 6 second draw.

Features

Given this is the kit only – the cartridge is empty and ready for you to fill.

It’s got a built in 650mAH battery that charges pretty fast – I went from completely flat to full charge in a little over an hour.

cartridge in place

Unlike other pod mods the Envii Fitt can be vaped using the puff sensor [activated when you draw on it] or indeed using the button – this option can be changed via the fire button [see above].

And that really is about it – about as easy as it gets – well sort of but I’ll deal with that later.

Design and Build Quality

As you might expect from a slightly high end company like Envii the build quality is very good with everything fitting together nicely.

It feels nice in the hand and does have a good solid weight to it.

envii fitt pod

Design wise it’s kind of cool and stealthy reminding me somewhat of one of those armoured beetles.

I do like the grippy rubber type inlays they certainly help with holding the device and look good too.

There’s also a hole on the base for a clip to add to your belt – keychain or lanyard.

So yeah it looks good – feels good but most important how does it vape?

How Does the Envii Fitt Perform?

OK out of the box things can be a little bewildering – so do read the instructions.

Sadly, you’ll need to read them more than once as they are not the clearest – even though there are diagrams.

filled

After I’d made a complete mess a few times it finally twigged that this was a bottom fill and you filled before you snap on the coil!

Anyways 5mls of juice later and I was good to go – but filling is fiddly and you really do have to be careful not to get any in the central chimney!

OK once juiced up I took my first puff and was surprised by the flavor – it was very good indeed – vapour was on par too even using a 50/50 tobacco flavour e-liquid.

However, the first issue I had was the 6 second cut out – now that is annoying!

When I MTL vape I puff a couple of times then take a good lungful – I’ve never counted how long I draw but it has to be longer – a lot longer – than 6 seconds.

Just as I get to the point I need a bit more the Fitt decides to shut off – frustrating to say the least and 4 more seconds would have helped!

In the end I’ve actually stopped using it because of that feature which is a dammed shame because it vapes well and is extremely portable fitting beautifully in my pocket with no leakage whatsoever.Envii fitt contents

As to battery life – on a full charge I was getting 6 to 7 hours before it needed re-charging which isn’t to bad at all.

What I Like

I like the dual mode – vaping via puff or button – that’s a nifty feature for a pod mod.

The design is very cool indeed and it looks like a cross between one of those badass beetles and a stealth fighter jet.

I love the size and weight making it extremely portable and of course the flavor and vapour is excellent.

kit-fitt-starter-par-envii

What I Don’t Like

This kit is quite simply spoiled by the silly six second shut-off.

Just as I’m taking a deep draw it just cuts out leaving me more than a little frustrated.

Hey it might not be an issue for you as i do take long drags– but I can only review things as I see and experience them – and the experience on this is ruined by the cut-off.

I’m not that keen on the mouthpiece either it feels like one of those erasers you have in your pencil case and isn’t exactly tasteless either!

Straight out of the box – if you’re an old buffer like me – to get the Fitt filled and coiled up can be a tad tricky and don’t get me started on taking the coil out – you’ll need strong long fingernails or a flat head screwdriver to get it out!

And there’s only one in the box – so be careful with it – though separate cartridges with coils can be purchased – I suggest you add a couple to your cart!

BTW this has to be the smallest USB lead I’ve ever seen!usb

I have tried to vape whilst charging trying x3 different leads however I couldn’t and as I’m not a contortionist I wasn’t able to use the tiny one lol.

Final Review Verdict

OK, as I’ve said I’m not using the Envii Fitt anywhere near as much as I would do if it wasn’t for the safety cut-out.

That’s not say it’s a bad device – far from it – if you’re a regular MTL vaper or fancy a change from sub ohmming then I’d recommend it – just remember that cut-out time!

It gives a decent amount of flavor and vapour – is extremely tactile and ergonomic and very portable.

Did you buy the Envii Fitt or have you used it? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Pros

  • Compact
  • Good flavour
  • Good vapour
  • Good battery life
  • Fast charging
  • Juice last well
  • Looks cool

Cons

  • Filling can be fiddly
  • Coil swap can be fiddly
  • That 6 second cut-out

The Artisan RTA comes from US based Envii (pronounced Envy) hailing out of Los Angeles, California.

You may or may not have heard of them before but chances are you could quite well have a vape product such as a mod or an atomiser designed by one of its four founding members.

If I mention 213 or that famous Loch in Scotland you might know what I mean. If not it was just a bit of a moonshot anyway 😉 Check out Kevin Jeffrey’s (aka The Worthing Vaper) review of the Envii Terra RTA for more background on the company.

The Envii Artisan RTA

Today we’re going to be looking at an RTA that I picked up purely on an impulse buy just before the May 20th deadline for the TPD.

So, without further a do lets get up close and personal with the Artisan RTA by Envii.

What’s In The Box

  • 1 x Artisan RTA
  • RBA ring
  • Spare glass tank
  • 1 x Spare parts bag
      • O-Rings
      • Grub/Hex Screws
      • Allen/Hex Key
  • 1 x User Manual

Features

  • Diameter: 22mm
  • Height: 46mm
  • Capacity: 3ml
  • Thread: 510
  • Material: Pyrex Glass + Stainless Steel
  • Adjustable Airflow
  • Top Filling
  • Removable Post-less deck
  • Reduced size chamber

Build Quality & Design

On first inspection, you wouldn’t be wrong in think that the Envii Artisan RTA is a bit of a ‘Plain Jane’.

In fact there’s nothing visually striking about it, even down to the ‘envii’ branding and device name which are ever so subtly engraved and the base of the RTA. And that’s not a bad thing!!

The Artisan is primarily of a stainless steel construction centred with a pyrex glass tank section.

Size wise, the RTA measures 22mm in diameter and 46mm high, excluding the threaded 510 connection, so it will probably look a little lost on a large vape mod.

The drip-tip is constructed from black delrin with an internal bore of approximately 9mm and connects to the top cap by means of a friction fit, so no o-rings. You can of course use your own drip-tips as the top cap is 510 compatible.

Internally, we have the chimney section which runs down from the top cap to a small chamber housing containing the RBA deck. On each side of the chamber there are two generously sized juice ports each measuring approx. 3.0×3.5mm.

The base section of the RTA contains dual cyclops air flow control ring, with each air flow hole measuring 13.0×1.0mm.

Now onto where the magic happens, the RBA deck.

The deck of the Artisan is very compact but very well thought out! Completely post-less, and with a central airflow channel which directs the air from below to hit both side of the coil.

Your coil is positioned so that the coil legs drop down into the deck and are then held in place with two small grub/hex screws. Simple!!

Now, you’re probably think, how do you pulse and pinch your coil once it’s installed into the deck. Well Envii have thought of that too!

Provided in the box there is a RBA ring, which allows you to connect the deck to the base section of the tank for just that purpose. Smart or what!

So, that the design and build done now let’s move on to the Artisan’s performance.

How Does The Envii Artisan RTA Perform?

I very quickly discovered that when wicking the Artisan you really do need to keep your cotton nice and fluffy, as the juice ports on the chamber are deceivingly big.

For my build I was using a pre-built 3.0mm diameter ‘Tiger Coil’ which came in at 3.5ohms and for wicking it was my firm favourite, some ‘Kendo Vape Cotton – Gold Edition’.

For this review I was using Apollo O’ So Good e juice which is a 80/20 VG/PG e-liquid which I have been good friends with for quite some time, so I know exactly how it will vape J

Wattage was set at a modest 45watts to start with, airflow open to about half way.

All I can say is WOW!! Flavour was exceptionally good as was vapour production with nice thick clouds.

Cranking the wattage up to 55watts and completely open the airflow produced some incredibly good flavour. Vapour production was dense and creamy.

Mouth To Lung (MTL) vaping was achievable on the Artisan albeit a very loose draw, but still quite enjoyable.

What I Liked

In simple terms ‘EVERYTHING’!! Yes I like all aspects of the Envii Artisan RTA. Building it was relatively straightforward; just remember to keep that cotton nice and fluffy.

Flavour and vapour production were a complete surprise to me! I had expected it to be pretty average, but I’m very pleased to say that I was proved wrong on that score.

I wound definitely put the Artisan RTA in the same category as something like the Eden Mods Rose 3

What I Didn’t Like

I’m finding it difficult to find anything I didn’t like about the Artisan RTA. I’ve had no real issues with the device, apart from users error J

OK, maybe some knurling on the top cap for us folk with chunky fingers but that’s it!!

Final Review Verdict

It may look like a ‘Plain Jane’ but in truth the Artisan by Envii is a well designed and engineered RTA which provides exceptionally good flavour and vapour production.

Top of the list for RTA recommendations.

Pros

  • Well designed & great build quality
  • Straightforward to build on the deck
  • Exceptionally good flavour and vapour production
  • Smooth airflow
  • Suits direct lung and (loose) mouth to lung

Cons

  • No knurling on top cap

The Envii Terra RTA comes from the company, Envii, based from offices in Los Angeles CA.

As normal I like to fill you fine folks in on a little background of the company that I’m writing a review for.

I searched the internet high and low for information on Envii but couldn’t find anything except for the oblique statement of humour on their website

We are Vape Envii. We are legion”.

I was fortunate enough to find an email for one of the team members Jacob, I have to say what a very personable chap, and through our conversation I was able to glean some interesting information about the company and the team

The 4 guys behind Envii:

  • Aldrich Hsu, past designs include Supremo Moonshot Atomiser and the 213 designed exclusively for Sigelei.
  • Jacob Giverink, who designed the beautiful handmade stabilized wood mod the Loch Ness, given Jacobs background as a carpenter is it any wonder in 2015 Vape Snob hailed the Loch Ness the last true “Unicorn”.
  • Brandon Nelson, whose past triumphs include 454 Atomiser and the beautiful Raven’s moon box mod.
  • Jose Arteaga, who owns Mystic Atmos, making Driptips and accessories he has a long standing career within the machining industry.

Each member of the team brings his own specific skill set to Envii, and from their combined efforts they offer something for every level of vaper.

Envii is a unique company in my eyes while all the products are made in China, Envii owns the machine shop where everything is manufactured. In this, Envii can ensure everything is made to US standards; I am told that Aldrich spends months at a time in China over seeing all aspects of the manufacturing process.

Enough chitchat lets take a look at one of their innovative products the Terra RTA.

Get this, it can hold up to 8 coils and the tank capacity is 5.5ml.

In The Box

  • 1 Terra RTA pre installed with 8 coils and wicked
  • 7 Plugs
  • 3 Spare coils
  • 2 Pieces of pre cut Japanese Cotton
  • 1 Large spare Pyrex tank
  • 510 driptip adaptor
  • 1 Advice  Sheet

Main Specs/Features

  • Top fill.
  • Holds up to 5.5ml of liquid.
  • Compatible with 1-8 coils.
  • Made of 304 stainless steel, ultem and pyrex.
  • Adjustable bottom airflow.
  • Rated for over 300 watts.
  • Comes in 2 colours SS and Black

Design and Build Quality

When I opened the tin box the Envii Terra RTA comes in I was shocked, intrigued and terrified in that order.

No matter how many times Jonny had told me that this was a 8 coil RTA I didn’t believe it was possible!

The design and build quality of this tank is extremely good and very well thought out.

Made from 304 stainless steel a Pyrex tank, Delrin screw on drip tip (I believe they call a propriety drip-tip) and an ultem resin sleeve/airflow.

We have seen something similar that was used within the Footoon Hellixer. The deck of the Terra is made from gold plated stainless steel with slots that your coils sit into, the bottom airflow is of the cylon design and the 510 connection pin is also gold plated.

The top cap for filling is a ¼ turn design with kidney shaped fill ports, the tank was clean with no signs of machine oil, all threads are smooth and the O rings fit well enough.

A quick guide to changing the Terra coils and filling the tank

*You have to empty the Terra RTA before changing coils or cotton.

*Never dry fire the coils or they will lose their spring.

  • Completely disassemble the Envii Terra
  • Using tweezers from the bottom grab your cotton and lift out your coils
  • Be careful not to damage or misshapen the coil/spring or you will not get it back into the deck.
  • Remove the old cotton and replace.
  • Replace the coil/spring back into the deck you can feel and hear when it’s properly situated.
  • Cut your cotton so that it is level with the chimney thread, also cut the cotton at the base so a small amount is left! Tuck the remainder under the coil/spring.
  • Wet your wicks and coils then reassemble the Terra and fill.

How Does The Envii Terra RTA Perform?

The Envii Terra RTA disassembles into 6 pieces

  • ¼ turn top cap
  • Chimney and fill port
  • Wide bore delrin driptip
  • Build deck and bottom airflow
  • Pyrex glass tank
  • Ultem resin airflow/sleeve

Top Cap/Fill port and chimney/Driptip

The Driptip is made of delrin and is a screw on type tip I have heard some people call them a propriety driptip. The ¼ turn top cap has smooth threads for the drip-tip and features silicon insert to stop liquid leaks. The chimney is connected in one piece to the fill ports which are two large kidney shaped slots; there is an O ring/ gasket for your Pyrex tank to sit in and an O ring on the threads of the chimney. In the box you will find a 510 drip-tip adaptor so you can if you wish use your own driptip.

Build deck and bottom airflow

At the base of the build deck you have a gold plated 510 pin for better connectivity, engraved lightly is LA CA Envii, the two bottom air-flows are of the cylon slot design which is also single action airflow, Around the base are the Envii logo and the word Terra. The build deck its self is unique in that you situate your coils into notches “no grub screws here”.

The chimney screws into the deck via threads. There is an O ring around the wick holder and a silicon gasket for the Ultem sleeve to sit against.

Pyrex Tank and Ultem sleeve

I didn’t know what Ultem was but a quick search on Google told me it’s a resin!

The Ultem Sleeve fits over your coil deck and rest against the silicon gasket, the sleeve is also a secondary airflow.

The Pyrex tank sits on top of the Ultem sleeve over your coils, in the box you have a larger Pyrex tank if you do not wish to use the Ultem sleeve this can be used in its stead.

When I checked the Ohms of all 8 coils they read 0.24.

Of course you don’t have to use all 8 coils at once this is where the little plugs come in and they plug into the wick holes at the top of the deck.

I decided to test the Terra with all 8 coils installed with Golden Pomelo e-liquid from Zap!.

The bottom airflow was wide open; the vape quality I received was good and thick at 100W the flavour was just OK.

I have to say this is a hot vape and the higher you go the hotter it gets!

Not ideal for me, I pumped the wattage up to 125w and then to 150W and finally 200w which almost killed me lol.

The tank was so hot I could hardly touch it! The vapour was thick and quite tasty.

Switching out the Ultem sleeve and the small tank for the larger tank (I recommend if you do this to wait for the tank to cool) I vaped the Terra at 100w which is the highest they recommend while using the larger tank.

BTW, this is not a Mouth to Lung RTA but a Direct to Lung tank.

The airflow with the Ultem in place and the bottom airflow open results in an incredibly airy draw, closing off the bottom airflow restricts the airflow but adds to the heat of the tank.

What I Like

I like the fact that Envii have gone out of their way to try something that I personally have not seen before, very innovative of them.

I like the fact that you can stagger your coils from 1 to 8. Also, the way they have situated the spaced coils/springs in the deck is great. Once you get used to changing the coils and cotton it’s a very easy process.

What I Didn’t Like

It’s got to be said I don’t like the heat and the hot vape this RTA produces.

When I first took the Envii Terra out of its box and examined and broke it down into its separate pieces I could not find the O ring that is used to keep the tank in place!

I can’t say for sure as I’ve never found it but I think taking the tank and Ultem sleeve off made the O ring spring off. Either that or it didn’t have one to begin with, thankfully in my kit box I have 1000’s of spares and was able to find one that fits correctly.

Check Out My Hands On Envii Terra RTA Video Review

Final Review Verdict

The Envii Terra RTA has a very good design and build quality on the whole. Good vapour production and for those that enjoy a hot vape this would be recommended.

With practice it’s quite easy to change the coils and cotton.

Would I replace the Terra RTA by Envii if I lost or damaged it? No is the word of the day I do not like too hot of a vape and sad to say this RTA is just that.

Pros

  • Good vaper
  • Good flavour
  • Able to hold 5.5ml of e liquid
  • Plenty of airflow for higher watts
  • The price will not break the bank

Cons

  • This RTA gets too hot to handle
  • A very hot vape at higher watts
  • No Spare O Rings
  • Very little spare cotton
  • To much airflow at lower watts
