Elf Bar are back with one of their most ambitious and advanced pod systems yet- the Elf Bar ELFX Ultra!

After making a household name for themselves with the Elf Bar and Lost Mary ranges, Elf Bar have turned their hand to refillable pod systems recently and they have released some excellent ones such as the ELFX and ELFX Mini.big oled screen elfbar elfx ultra

They have also designed an excellent range of e-liquids with the ELFLIQ e-liquid range, formulated to work perfectly with Elf Bar refillable pod systems.

What Can We Expect From The Elf Bar ELFX Ultra?

The ELFX Ultra is Elf Bar’s most advanced pod vape system to date, marking a big departure from the disposables and pre-filled pod systems that helped to build the Elf Bar brand into the unstoppable juggernaut that it is today.elfbar elfx ultra review

It really is a cutting-edge pod system that balances performance, style and user friendly features that combine to elevate your vaping experience to the next level.

A feature that stands out immediately is the advanced OLED touchscreen display, that offers a modern and interactive experience with smartphone-style touch control, and this can even be customised to personalise your vaping experience further!

There’s even Bluetooth connectivity so you can pair your device to your phone and make use of the Innogate app!

A robust 1500mAh battery powers the ELFX Ultra, which can be recharged in no time at all thanks to the fast charging function, and an adjustable output power range of 5-45W gives you control over the intensity of your vape.

Eco and Turbo modes give you even more flexibility, with the ability to conserve battery or to boost the power easily.

ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods, found on the ELFX and ELFX Mini devices, make a return here and these are powered by QUAQ Dual Mesh coil technology for a rich flavour experience and outstanding pod longevity.

Many thanks to Elf Bar for sending the ELFX Ultra in for review, let’s see what the latest ELFX device has to offer!

And as always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality

The Elf Bar ELFX Ultra is one of the larger pod systems I have encountered, standing taller than my OXVA XLIM Pro 2 DNA for example, and it feels quite weighty as well.

Build quality is top notch here, with smooth rounded edges that make the device comfortable to hold, and a very premium look to it. elfbar elfx ultra in hand

Six different colour finishes are available, with black, blue, green, grey, greyline and pink options.

Most of the front of the device is dominated by a stunning 2.4″ OLED Full Touch screen.

And this is an absolute stunner of a screen, boasting full colour, excellent clarity and smartphone like touchscreen input.wattage settings ulfx ultra pod

I was really impressed by how snappy and responsive the touchscreen is, registering touch inputs perfectly each and every time, it is also very bright by default however this can be adjusted in the menu settings.

The screen displays the time, battery level, eco/turbo mode options, power output, memory/smart mode, coil resistance and a puff counter, with customisable themes available.

It can be locked by using the power button located to the side of the screen, the power button can also be used to fire the device or disabled if you only want to use auto draw!elfbar elfx ultra power buttong

Opposite to the power button is the airflow adjustment slider, which gives you full control over the airflow to the coils.

airflow elfbar elfx ultraThe rear of the device features the ELFX logo, and at the base is a Type-C port used for charging your ELFX Ultra.

ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods connect magnetically to the ELFX Ultra, though there is a bit of wriggle present here when you give the pod a wobble!pod battery elfbar elfx ultra

These have a TPD-friendly 2ml capacity and utilise Elf Bar’s patented QUAQ dual mesh coil technology, with a side filling port.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

One of the great design features of the ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods is that you don’t need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it!

The silicon filling port cover is located on the side of the pod, just lift this up in order to expose the filling port.how to fill elfbar elfx ultra pod

Next, insert your e-liquid bottle nozzle and fill the pod up fully, before replacing the filling port cover so that e-liquid doesn’t leak back out.

If you are filling a new pod for the first time, wait for five minutes after filling it up, as this allows the cotton in the coils to fully absorb the e-liquid, which helps to prevent scorching of the cotton and prolongs the lifespan of the pod.

With these pods, you can also see exactly how much e-liquid remains in the pod at a glance, making it easy to know when it is time to refill.

Operation

To power the ELFX Ultra on and off, hold down the power button for three seconds, or quick press it five times. Once the device is powered on, the power button can also be pressed to turn the screen on and off.big oled screen elfbar elfx ultra

This is a touchscreen device so settings can be changed and the menu can be navigated via touch inputs!

You can change some settings from the home screen itself. Switching between Eco and Turbo modes is as easy as tapping on the icon. To change the power output, tap on the power level and scroll up and down to find your desired power setting.

You can also switch between smart and memory modes, smart mode will automatically set a power output based on the resistance of the coil, memory mode outputs power based on your own selection.

From the home screen, you can also press and hold on an empty area of the screen to change the theme, and swiping up locks the screen. Once locked, swiping up unlocks the screen.

Swiping down on the home screen gives you quick access to toggle Bluetooth on and off, adjust screen brightness, use the flashlight feature, enable the child lock and lock the screen.change brightness elfbar elfx ultra

If you swipe left or right on the screen, this will take you into the menu, which has the following features-

  • Tapping the circular icon at the top of the menu allows you to change the avatar, set a 5 character nickname, view vaping records and connect to the app.
  • ‘Light’ enables you to customise the RGB light functions, turn the RGB lighting off entirely or enable the flashlight. Flashlight just sets the screen to max brightness, it won’t illuminate a whole area for example!
  • ‘Theme’ gives you the ability to change the device theme, you can download further themes via the Innogate app.
  • ‘Zen’ sets a countdown timer.
  • ‘Child Lock’ allows you to set a passcode to lock and unlock the device.
  • ‘Settings’ gives you the ability to turn Bluetooth on or off, adjust the screen brightness, set a screen auto lock, enable or disable the screen lighting up when you vape, set the clock, enable or disable power button firing, view the current software version and device certification, change the puff count to a puff timer, reset the puff counter, factory reset the device or shut it down.

Phew, that’s a hell of a lot of features packed in here!

Innogate Smart Insights App

So, a pretty futuristic feature on the ELFX Ultra is the ability to connect your device to the Innogate Smart Insights App!

You can do this by downloading the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, if you scan the QR code on the side of box this will take you straight to it, or search for Innogate in your relevant app store.

There is also another larger QR code inside the box.

After downloading the app, enable Bluetooth in the menu settings and connect the ELFX Ultra to your phone via Bluetooth- yes, the ELFX Ultra has Bluetooth connectivity!

Whilst in the app, tap ‘Add Device’ to search for your ELFX Ultra, once ‘ELFBAR ELFX ULTRA’ appears then tap connect. ‘Pairing Successful’ will confirm that the ELFX Ultra has connected successfully.

Now, you will need to confirm an age verification process and this does involve scanning ID such as a driving licence or passport using your smartphone camera.

You can track your vaping habits and trends on the app, and also set limits on how many puffs you can take daily or even hourly which is handy if you are looking to control how much you vape.

There’s also the ability to customise your device further, and add themes that aren’t already preloaded on the ELFX Ultra device.

A child lock can also be enabled and disabled within the app, which can prevent minors from being able to use the ELFX Ultra.

Charging

The Type-C charging port is located on the base of the ELFX Ultra, you need to plug in a compatible USB-C charging cable and use a suitable power output source.USB-C Charge port

Thanks to 5V/2A fast charging, this is pretty speedy at charging back up, so you don’t have to wait around long for your ELFX Ultra to charge back up!

How Does The Elf Bar ELFX Ultra Perform?

Elf Bar have stuck with the ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods that were used with the ELFX and ELFX Mini devices, which I’m more than happy with as these are great pods!elfbar elfx pod

You get the 0.6 and 0.8ohm ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods included in the box, which are great to get you going. ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods are also available to purchase separately with resistances of 0.4ohm, 1.0ohm and 1.2ohm.

These pods incorporate QUAQ dual mesh coil technology and have been designed to work best with Elf Bar’s range of ELFLIQ e-liquids, but are also equally excellent with other freebase and nicotine salt based e-liquids too.

Output power can be adjusted from 5-45W in 1W increments, however if you like a high-powered vape then you can only use the 45W maximum setting with the 0.4ohm pod which is sold separately.colour oled screen elfx ultra

If you don’t want to change the output power settings yourself, the device can automatically set a power output for you in smart mode, which detects the resistance of the coil and adjusts the output power accordingly.

in practice, this actually works really well, with the device setting a well-balanced vape!

Flavour

Both the 0.6ohm and the 0.8ohm pods deliver some very intense flavour, with a virtually instantaneous heat up time when you take a puff.mouthpiece elfbar elfx ultra

These pods deliver flavour that is up there with the best of them, I was getting all the flavour notes from my e-liquids here!

Eco and Boost modes can change the flavour experience, if you are using Eco mode this will deliver a cooler and slightly less intense vape (but it will prolong battery life), Boost mode offers a warmer and more intense vape at the expense of battery life.

I didn’t find much difference between the two pods in terms of flavour performance, with the 0.6ohm pod offering a slightly warmer vape than the 0.8ohm one, but other than that they are both excellent!

Pod Lifespan

ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods are marketed as offering up to 100ml worth of refills before the flavour starts to degrade, in practice this means that you should get almost two weeks of vaping out of a single pod!

This will vary depending on your vaping habits though, and the e-liquids that you vape will impact on pod longevity too- for example e-liquids that are sweetener heavy will degrade your coils quite quickly.

I got just under two weeks worth of vaping out of my pods before I needed to switch them out, which is up there with some of the best pods on the market.

Airflow

Airflow can be easily adjusted by using the airflow adjustment slider on the side of the device, which has a very smooth travel and tends to stay in place once set.back of elfbar elfx ultra

Elf Bar have marketed this device as a mouth to lung kit, but I think they are selling it a bit short there as this is also more than capable of delivering restricted lung hits too with the airflow set to fully open!

It is no slouch in the clouds department either, with some quite impressive vapour production when the airflow is wide open and the power cranked up.

Battery Life

One of my main concerns with a device like this that boasts RGB lighting and a beautifully bright screen is the impact those features have on the battery life.

make it elf enjoy yourselfThankfully, with the ELFX Ultra, these features don’t seem to impact battery life greatly, though to really maximise battery life you will want to use Eco mode, turn the screen brightness down (or off entirely) and restrict the power output.

When using the ELFX Ultra in Eco Mode, with the screen brightness turned down, you can get well over a day’s worth of vaping out of this.

With Boost Mode active, the output power cranked up and screen brightness set to max, you will struggle to get a full day out of a full charge!

Pros

  • Feature rich pod system
  • Absolutely delightful large screen with funky themes
  • Very responsive touch screen
  • Mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vaping
  • Plenty of power available
  • Lots of customisation options
  • Robust build quality
  • Top-notch flavour delivery

Cons

  • ELFX Dual Mesh pods can be a little ‘spitty’ at times
  • Device is a bit weightier than other similar ones

Final Verdict

The ELFX range really shows that Elf Bar are a serious player in the refillable pod system game and the ELFX Ultra shows that they can really mix it with the best of them!

Elf Bar have really gone all out with the ELFX Ultra and I have to say that they have absolutely nailed it here, producing a device that delivers in both the looks and the performance department.

They’ve developed some excellent pods with the ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable Pods, these have excellent flavour and great longevity, with the added bonus of compatibility across all existing ELFX devices, so if you own multiple ELFX products you don’t need different pods for them all.

When it comes to the ELFX Ultra device itself, this packs in all the features you need into a kit that features one of the best looking screens on the market, with a very responsive touch screen, and it is a stunner of a pod system!

Many thanks to Elf Bar for sending the ELFX Ultra in for review! This can be purchased directly from Elf Bar. Link below.

Elf Bar were onto a winner with the Elf Bar ELFX and now they have released a smaller version of it with the Elf Bar ELFX Mini Pod Kit!elfbar elfx mini review

Elf Bar are one of the most well known brand names in the vaping industry, and thanks to the success of the Elf Bar and Lost Mary ranges they are one of the largest too!

Their excellence has been recognised with various industry awards, such as the Best Disposable Vape award in the 2022 and 2023 Ecigclick awards.

The ELFX Mini follows on from the ELFX pod kit that we reviewed a year ago, and Elf Bar have also released other pod kits in the past such as the Elf Bar 4 in 1, Mate 500 and the ELFA PRO.

Elf Bar also released their top selling disposable flavours in the ELFLIQ e-liquid range, which quickly grew into one of the most popular e-liquids on the market!

What Can We Expect From The Elf Bar ELFX Mini Pod Kit?

The ELFX Mini Pod kit is a cut down version of the ELFX Pod Kit that Elf Bar released in 2024, but with no compromise on performance!

It is a compact yet powerful refillable vape pod system that is aimed at both mouth-to-lung and restricted direct lung vapers, catering to both thanks to adjustable airflow and a choice of 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pods.packaging elfbar elfx mini

A rechargeable 1000mAh battery is built into the ELFX Mini Pod Kit, with a power output range of 10-30W available depending on the resistance of the coil and the battery level, which gives users flexibility over their vaping experience.

There’s compatibility with ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable pods, which have a top-filled 2ml capacity. These have 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm options, and utilise Elf Bars patented QUAQ Mesh Coil technology.

QUAQ Mesh Coil technology delivers increased performance and a richer vaping experience, with double the lifespan of other coils and 4x Anti-Leak technology.

This is shaping up to be a small form factor pod system ideal for use with nicotine salt based e-liquids as well as a good disposable vape alternative.

Many thanks to Elf Bar for sending in the ELFX Mini Pod kit for review, let’s see how this one shapes up!

As always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality

For starters, the ELFX Mini is quite considerably smaller than the original ELFX which was quite a tall pod system!

It has slimmed down to dimensions of 104.3mm x 25.6mm x 15.2mm, getting swallowed up in the palm of my hand. In fact when I hold it, only the pod pokes out of the top of my hand!elfbar elfx mini in hand

Eight different colours are available to pick from with silver, pink, black, gold, grey, sky, lilac and ocean available.

The body of the device itself is manufactured from aluminium alloy, with a bumpy texture that feels quite nice on my fingertips.elfbar elfx mini branding

One negative about the build quality was that I found the finish was quite prone to picking up scratches, I had a fair few scuffs on mine after only a week of using it!

In terms of features, on one side of the device is the Type-C charging port and opposite to this is the adjustable airflow slider. back of elf bar elfx miniOn the front of the device is the Elf Bar logo, and above this is a dynamic 5-level RGB ‘breathing’ light indicator.

ELFX Dual Mesh Pods have a TPD-friendly 2ml capacity with a side filling port on the side, and they use QUAQ Mesh Coil technology. A big plus point here is that you can see exactly how much e-liquid is left in the pod without needing to remove it.elfbar elfx mini coil pod

As with virtually any other pod system, the ELFX Dual Mesh Pods connect magnetically to the device. These are held quite firmly in place, with much less wobble than on the original ELFX kit!

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

Firstly, remove the sticker from the base of the pod, otherwise when you connect it to the device the pod will not be detected and it will not fire as a result!elfbar pod

Next up, locate the silicon filling port cover on the side of the pod. Handily, you don’t even need to remove the pod from the device in order to refill it!

Insert the nozzle of the e-liquid bottle into the filling port and make sure you fill the pod up fully, before replacing the filling port cover to avoid leaks.how to fill the elfbar elfx mini

Then wait for five minutes before vaping, as this will allow the cotton to fully absorb the e-liquid and guard against dry hits.

Operation

This is a simple auto draw device, so once your pod is filled and ready to go, you simply draw on it to fire the device.front view elfbar elfx mini

Airflow can be adjusted by using the airflow control on the side, so that you can tighten up or loosen the draw to your liking, and we will go into this in a bit more detail further into the review.

Charging

A dynamic RGB indicator on the front of the ELFX Mini displays the current battery level, and it can be checked by removing and re-inserting the pod.usb c charge port

  • Green= 100-80% battery level remaining
  • Green-yellow= 80-60%
  • Yellow= 60-40%
  • Orange= 40-20%
  • Red= less than 20%

A USB-C cable and suitable power source needs to be used to charge the ELFX Mini, which charges at a rate of 5V/1A.

This means that the internal battery will charge from flat to full in around an hour, and the LED light will illuminate a green colour to indicate that it is fully charged.

Safety Features

  • 5s vaping overtime
  • Short circuit protection
  • Overheating protection
  • Low battery protection
  • Low voltage protection

How Does The Elf Bar ELFX Mini Perform?

A 0.8ohm ELFX Dual Mesh Refillable Pod is included within the kit, which incorporate QUAQ Mesh Coil technology and are specially designed to work best with Elf Bar’s range of ELFLIQ e-liquids.pod and battery elfx mini

Though they also work great with both freebase and nicotine salt e-liquids! A 0.6ohm version is also available to buy on Elf Bar’s website.

Wattage output ranges from 10-30W, and this is determined by the built in chip, which regulates power output depending on the resistance of the coil and the remaining battery level.

Flavour

I was quite surprised by the flavour intensity from the 0.8ohm pod, this was noticeable right from the get go!

I was vaping ELFLIQ Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice, and I could detect all of the flavour notes perfectly, with each of them feeling like they had been elevated by this pod.

Plus, the icy element of this e-liquid felt much stronger!

The coils fire up pretty much instantaneously when you take a draw too, which really helps with flavour delivery.

Pod Lifespan

Elf Bar state that you can get up to 100ml worth of refills before the flavour starts to degrade, and I would say that my experience was in line with that.

My original pod lasted almost two weeks before I needed to switch it out, which is up there with some of the longest lasting pods on the market!

Airflow

An airflow adjustment slider is located on the side of the ELFX Mini, allowing you to finely adjust the airflow with your thumb.airflow

I can say that this gives you the ability to vape a tight mouth to lung, by closing the airflow down, and opening it up gives a nice restricted lung hit with plenty of vapour production.

Battery Life

Much like the original ELFX, a 1000mAh battery is built into the device, rechargeable via a USB-C cable.battery elfx mini pod vape

On a full charge I would have no issues with getting a full day’s worth of use, quite often I didn’t actually need to recharge it until into the second day!

Pros

  • The ELFX Dual Mesh Coil pods deliver great flavour
  • Long pod lifespan
  • No need to remove the pod to fill it
  • Mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vaping options
  • Great pairing for Elf Bar ELFLIQ e-liquids as well as other nicotine salt based e-liquids
  • Good battery lifespan for a pod device of this size

Cons

  • Fixed power output, can’t manually adjust the power
  • Occasional e-liquid spitback from the pods
  • Like its elder sibling, finish is prone to picking up scratches easily

Final Verdict

I reviewed the Elf Bar ELFX just over a year ago and was impressed with the way it performed, needless to say the ELFX Mini continues to offer that same excellent performance just in a smaller package!

You’ve got a small form factor refillable pod system here that is easy to get to grips with and use, making it an excellent refillable alternative to disposable vapes.

Not only is the performance great, delivering a great tasting vape, but battery life is another big plus point here as you’ll be able to vape throughout the day with no worries.

You can grab one of these directly from the Elf Bar website for a bargain £8.99, making this one of the cheapest refillable pod systems on the market and offering serious value for money.

Many thanks to Elf Bar for sending the Elf Bar ELFX Mini in for review!

When it comes to finding the best Elf Bar flavours we totally get why it can be a little overwhelming. I mean come on Elf Bar! How many disposable vapes and flavour options do you guys have!Best Elf Bar Flavours

In all seriousness the selection is what makes them one of the top disposable brands. If you can’t find a flavour you like from what they have on offer then you may struggle to find it full stop.

Flavours do cross over onto the various Elf Bar vape options as well to keep things a little more simple.

While disposables are a touchy point for many there is no hiding the fact that they are a pretty effective tool when it comes to switching from tobacco. They can be expensive in the long run though. So do yourself a favour and consider saving some money and the environment by trying out reusable vape kits.

Anyway, enough of that. Let’s get stuck in.

So, we’ve taken the task to break down the Elf Bar flavours we have personally used and let you know what our favourites are.

Where can you buy Elf Bar vapes in the UK?

Best Elf Bar Flavours

1. Watermelon – Elf Bar 600 – Rating at time of review 9/10

elf bar elf bar watermelon
Flavour: Watermelon | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“This is a very fresh, ripe and succulent tasting watermelon.

Tasty and uplifting are words I’d use to describe Watermelon and it works as an ideal thirst quencher for the Summer months.

The chilling throat blast will certainly help keep temperatures down. It’s packed with flavour intensity from start to finish”

2. Strawberry Ice Cream – Elf Bar Elfa – Rating at time of review 10/10

strawberry ice cream elf bar elfa
Flavour: Strawberry | Ice Cream | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Strawberry Ice Cream represents the coming together of a very creamy, milky Strawberry beverage.

I say beverage because it’s more in keeping with a Yazoo chilled drink.

I would personally urge anyone that likes their Strawberry milkshakes to give this one a whirl. It doesn’t disappoint.“

3. Apple Watermelon – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Rating at time of review 9.6/10

Apple Watermelon
Flavour: Apple | Watermelon | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Now this is what you call flavour blending! It’s fantastic.

Everything develops rapidly on the exhale.

Just the right amount of sweetener throughout and the mix of Watermelon to Apple is bang on!

It’s almost as if Elf Bar have created a brand new flavour and both fruits have a balanced, subtle effect that just wants me to vape even more.

One of the most refreshing vapes I’ve had for quite some time and that says it all!“

4. Banana Mango – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Review rating – 9.5/10

Banana Mango
Flavour: Banana | Mango | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Banana Mango is really rather intense and you’re definitely getting bang for your buck! I have to say this is another great fusion of fruity flavour, though.

There’s a level of sourness kicking out but adds another dimension to the vape. It gives it more of a cutting edge on the initial exhale.

There’s no nasty after taste generated, only an effective blending of the two fruits.

Banana Mango is a clear demonstration of how to mix two flavours and get the right results.”

5. Blue Razz Lemonade – Elf Bar 600 – Reviewer rating 9/10

elf bar blue razz lemonade
Flavour: Blue Raspberry | Lemonade | Koolada

What the Reviewer said:

“Tangy is the first word that springs to mind with a few initial vapes. It’s immediately followed by an absolute explosion of flavour on the exhale.

The very realest lemonade content is extremely refreshing and couples well with copious smatterings of sweetness. Underpinning the full bodied fruit lies a cooling agent that’s proportionately delivered.

It’s the clever combination of fruit with an icy cool blast that keeps Blue Razz Lemonade firmly planted in the mind. It’s without doubt an all day vape in my opinion.”

6. Lemon Lime – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating – 10/10

Lemon Lime elf bar v2
Flavour: Lemon | Lime | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Whoa! There’s a whole lotta Lime in the air when ripping this open from the blister pack.

Awesome! Lemon and Lime in equal measure – just as it should be.

The Lemon tastes fresh and lively and the Lime simply pops along throughout. It’s got the ‘zing’ factor, that’s for sure.

A very tropical blend and extremely refreshing on the taste buds. Another highly consistent vape that never lets me down for quality flavour.”

7. Kiwi Passionfruit Guava – Elf bar CR500 – Reviewer Rating – 9/10

elfbar kiwi passion guava
Flavour: Kiwi | Passionfruit | Guava | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Tangy is a word I’d use to describe this one. It runs through the centre of the exhale providing a degree of texture and tone along the way.

It’s quite a complex array of flavour notes in all honesty. They do come together to create that tropical vibe and not dissimilar to the experience of downing a can of lilt.

It’s one of those vapes that becomes more and more appealing as its vaped because you’re never quite sure which flavour note is going to hit next.

I dig this summer fruit concoction. I’m off down the beach for a vape!”

8. Blueberry Cotton Candy – Elf Bar Elfa – Reviewer Rating – 10/10

elfbar elfa blueberry cotton candy
Flavour: Blueberry | Cotton Candy | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“As with Strawberry Ice Cream there’s another appealing aroma wafting once the seal’s been broken on the blister pack. It bodes well..

I have to say this is one of the best renditions of Blueberry I’ve vaped to date. It’s incredibly authentic, after eight years of vaping has been worth the wait!

The level of sweetness is what I expect from this profile. It zips around playfully on the taste buds providing a lip smackingly good vibe. Identical to the tail end of eating Candy Floss.

There’s no denying the quality of the blended ingredients.”

9. ElfBull Ice – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 9.2/10

Elfbull Ice 600 v2
Flavour: Red Bull | Ice

What the reviewer said:

“This is your classic energy drink in overdrive and with even more sweetener than the popular beverage itself!

The candy like properties are high on a list of priorities.

The flavour is rich and deep, delivered constantly with every exhale. I didn’t pick out any fizziness but it still remains thirst quenching enough.

If you’re a fan you’re going to really appreciate Elfbull Ice.

10. Strawberry kiwi – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 8/10

elf bar 600 v2 strawberry kiwi
Flavour: Strawberry | Kiwi | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“I’m greeted with a highly refreshing taste with Strawberry Kiwi. The strawberry punches through first with an abundance of sweetness that lasts the course of the vape.

There’s a degree of sharpness on the way out but doesn’t hinder the flavour. If anything it improves the intensity of the vape.

Strawberry Kiwi is another ideal vape for the Summer months and that cooling blast will help you keep your cool!”

11. Pink Grapefruit – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 9.6/10

Elf Bar Pink Grapefruit
Flavour: Pink Grapefruit | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Oh yes! This was has plenty going for it.

The Grapefruit in this one is absolutely lush and the lynchpin of the entire flavour experience.

It has just the right level of sweetness, a tangy back note that hangs throughout and a mouth watering quality that’s off the vaping scale!

As far as tropical fruits are concerned, I have to put it up there as one of the best Grapefruits I’ve tasted in disposable format.

Pucker! This one’s a true winner. I could easily vape this all year round.

12. Strawberry Ice – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 8.2/10

Flavour: Cranberry | Grape | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Mmm. Smells quite promising, at least!

However this is not a ripe, juicy version of Strawberry. It’s the usual candy style take on the popular Summer fruit.

Again, there does seem to be a drier quality to the vape. I don’t expect that from such a mouth watering, juicy fruit.

Strawberry Ice remains more than passable, however, it will have its fan base. Well suited to those happy just to be tasting something other than Tobacco.

And you will get a Strawberry taste each and every vape. Flavour consistency is excellent.”

13. Ginger Cola – Elf Bar 600 – Reviewer Rating 9.6/10

elf bar elf bar cola
Flavour: Spicy Ginger | Fizzy Cola | Ice

What the reviewer said:

“The addition of Ginger and the combination with Cola is as welcome as Salt and Vinegar as a partnership.

It works fantastically. The spicier qualities of the exhale actually bring a much needed fizz.

That’s just what this beverage profile is screaming out for.

Coupled with some finely balanced Coolada, we have a drink flavoured vape with real zing and pop.”

14. Watermelon Bubblegum – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 10/10

Watermelon Bubblegum 600 v2
Flavour: Watermelon | Bubblegum | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Yeah definitely a candy inspired vape if ever there was one.

To begin with, Watermelon tastes the strongest.

The chewy bubblegum is left to settle on the flavour palate as an additional treat. With remnants of Watermelon lingering in the nose.

A highly refreshing candy style vape. Something I definitely don’t say all that often!”

15. Mad Blue – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 9.5/10

Mad Blue
Flavour: Blueberry | Raspberry | Blackcurrant | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Not bad at all. It’s a very candy, sweetie inspired vape and that’s evident from the very first exhale.

Blueberry does make itself known but I found that to be towards the dying embers of the exhale. More importantly it complements rather than distract from the overall flavour blending.

Mad Blue is another of those vapes that benefits from the icy cold inhale. It sets the scene for a nice mixture of fruits and overall is a refreshing and tasty vape. Good work!”

16. Cranberry Grape – Elf Bar Elfa – Reviewer Rating 8/10

elfbar elfa cranberry grape
Flavour: Cranberry | Grape | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“If I’m completely honest it’s a bit of an odd one but in a good way.

The usual synthetic tasting Grape is still present. There’s definitely a fresh Orange in there which knocks out some of the sourness I experience with Grape vapes.

Cranberry Grape is also stuffed full of sweetener and that Coolada is once again something of a domineering disaster. However, the general flavour notes are quite appealing and the artificial tasting Grape more acceptable this time around.”

17. Wild Orange – Elf Bar Elfa Pro – Reviewer Rating 9.2/10

Wild Orange
Flavour: Wild Orange | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Quite a refreshing Orange taste and relatively strong too.

So the inhale feels very smooth and is accompanied by a nice soothing chill to line the throat.

As for the taste – As I say, it’s unmistakably Orange but not quite as Mother Nature intended. That’s to say more like an Orange Cordial or Soda as opposed to freshly squeezed.

Another mouth-watering experience.”

18. Tropical Fruit – Elf Bar Elfa Pro – Reviewer Rating 9.6/10

Tropical Fruit
Flavour: Cranberry | Grape | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“This one’s packed with flavour and has all the hallmarks of a fresh, fruity beverage.

Tropical Fruit is really a combination of exotic fruits where I feel Pineapple is the stand out flavour. It’s laced with complementary back notes of Mango and Grapefruit.

The overall blend is consistently tasty with an exhale that’s actually quite rich and tangy. You’ll notice those attributes as an after taste too.”

19. Mojito – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 9.4/10

elf bar mojito
Flavour: Lime | Mint | Sugar | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“The aroma of Lime hits the nostrils once this one’s open to the air.

I have to say that this is the most intense flavour out of the bunch tested. I’m hit with a whirlpool of sweetness during the inhale that never lets up throughout the entire vape.

That’s going to please many folk but I’m a grumpy sod and it’s just a spoonful of sugar too much for me!

There’s some mint wrapped around that Lime too so no doubt contributes to flavour intensity and once again it’s noticeable for its own qualities. That impresses me.

The addition of Koolada elevates Mojito to a whole new a senses stimulating experience.

20. Apple Peach – Elf Bar 600 V2 – Reviewer Rating 8.4/10

apple peach elf bar
Flavour: Apple | Peach | Koolada

What the reviewer said:

“Whoa! The aroma of Apple is strong.

It’s also very strong when it comes to the sweetness of the inhale.

The combination of Apple and Peach is pretty effective. They combine to offer up a completely new and fresh taste experience.

Both feel well balanced and flavour is consistent throughout, tinged with a bitterness that only helps with the overall bite of the vape.

One thing’s for sure. Apple Peach certainly stimulates the taste buds so could very well come in handy as a ‘morning after the night before’ vape.”

We have a lot more flavours to try so we will update as we go!

Recycle Your Elf Bar

The rise of disposable vapes has brought with it a lot of talk about the environmental concerns that go with them.

While disposable vapes offer convenience and portability, their single-use nature brings with it a significant amount of electronic waste.

Recycling initiatives specific to disposable vapes are crucial. There are a a couple of initiatives we will list below but also check your local vape shops for recycling bins or any services they offer in this respect.

Do not dispose of batteries in general waste bin!

For retailers, you can help consumers recycle their Elf Bars below by getting a recycling vape bin for your store

One of the biggest brands in the industry – Elf Bar – are back with their new Elf Bar 4 in 1 Pre-filled Pod Kits. Thanks to Vape Club we’ve got three of these to look at!

elfbar 4in1 review

Elf Bar are a company that almost need no introduction really! They have absolutely dominated the vaping game recently, mainly due to the success of the Elf Bar 600 disposable vape – which even won the ‘Best Disposable Vape’ award in the 2022 Ecigclick awards!

The company have had a string of successes recently with devices like the ELFX Pod Kit, ELFLIQ E-liquid range and the ELFA Pro Pod Kit as they look to diversify away from throwaway disposable vapes.

Includes 2 FREE replacement pods!

What Can We Expect From The Elf Bar 4 in 1 Pre-filled Pod Kits?

Fancy carrying around four of your favourite Elf Bars flavours, but don’t fancy carrying around four disposable vapes at once?

elf bar 4in1 banner

Then the Elf Bar 4 in 1 Prefilled Pod Kit takes away that hassle as you can have four of your favourites on the go in one device!

elfbar 4 in1 rainbow

You’ve got a massive range of all the popular Elf Bar flavours available.

Sixteen different kits (or ‘editions’ as Elf Bar have termed them) can be purchased, each with four different flavours. Switching between your four different pods is easy thanks to the twist and go mechanism.

elfbar 4in1 flavour

And when your pods have run out, you can simply purchase replacement ones, making this a reusable pod system as you can also recharge the battery!

This is a much more environmentally friendly option when you compare this to a disposable vape.

Out of the box the Elf Bar 4 in 1 promises up to a stated 3200 puffs in total, thanks to the four 2ml pre-filled pods, which contain a 20mg nicotine salt blend. These each have a 1.2ohm QUAQ mesh coil built in for smooth flavour delivery.

4 flavours in elfbar

A massive 1500mAh battery is built in to power you through long vaping sessions and this is recharged via USB-C. You’ve also got the option of both Normal and Eco modes. Eco mode is designed to lower the power output to save battery.

Many thanks to Vape Club for sending three of the Elf Bar 4 in 1 Pre-filled Pod Kits in for review, let’s see how they go! As always, all views are my own…

Editions

Each different kit is called an ‘edition’ and there are sixteen different editions to pick from, each coming with four different flavours.

Design & Build Quality

You’ve got that instantly recognisable cylindrical design that is almost ubiquitous amongst 4 in 1 devices. Measurement wise this is pretty much in line with other devices out there – measuring in at 117.5mm x 36.8mm x 34.1mm.

elfbar 4in1 in hand

The cylindrical design just works, it makes it easy to accommodate a revolving system of switching between the pods and it is comfortable to hold too. The rounded shape just sits in the palm of my hand nicely.

I’ve got to give a shout out to Elf Bars ‘revolver’ system of switching between the four flavours, as this is actually one of the best that I have encountered. I have tried a lot of different 4 in 1 devices in my time!

Whereas a lot of other competing devices require you to lift up and twist the mouthpiece or have some other convoluted system, this one is dead easy. You don’t even touch the mouthpiece here!

elfbar 4in1 mouthpiece

You’ll see a window on the side of the device that allows you to see the selected flavour, and you simply slide this with your thumb or finger to change the flavour.

flavour view on elfbar 4in1

It is that easy and it is so smooth in practice too, it just works really well and sets the standard for other similar devices to follow. When the pod is correctly aligned it also lights up Blue to let you know and if it isn’t aligned properly then it just won’t vape.

But in practice I have had absolutely zero issues with aligning a pod correctly.

The device itself is pretty basic, but that is all you need for a 4 in 1 system like this.

The mouthpiece is removable to allow access to the pod chamber and it snaps satisfyingly into place thanks to the magnetic connection. There’s no wrestling with it to get it off, simply lift it up to remove it and drop it back in!

On the front you’ll find the screen, which lights up with the Elf Bar logo and also displays how much battery you have left.

oled screen on elfbar 4in1 There’s a button there too which allows you to switch between normal and Eco mode and on the base of the device is the USB-C charging port.

Build quality overall is pretty decent for a device like this as well and I haven’t really got any complaints about it. Everything slots together and works as it should and there aren’t any sharp edges on the device!

Quick Start Guide

Firstly, you need to remove the mouthpiece and insert the pods into the device, making sure the contacts are facing downwards. And that’s it, you are all set to vape!

elfbar 4in1 colour option

I’ve described the twist and go system above and you simply rotate this to select your flavour making sure that the pod lines up with the arrow.

There’s no power button present here, this has an auto draw system so simply take a puff on the device to fire it.

There is however a mode button present that allows you to switch between normal mode and Eco mode.

Eco mode means the power output will become lower in order to prolong battery life and ‘Eco’ will helpfully be displayed above the power button to indicate this mode is active.

You can’t actually see how much e-liquid remains in the pod. However when the vapour production starts to die off or the taste is becoming muted then it’s usually time to dispose of the pod and replace it with a new one.

Battery life is displayed by the power indicator at the top of the screen. When the last section of the ring is showing and it begins to flash then you will want to recharge the device. The vape does get quite weak by this point too.

Charging

No USB-C charging cable is included in the kit so you will need to source one yourself.

usb charge

The USB-C charging port is located on the base of the device, so you’ll need to rest it on its side to charge it. Simply plug the connector in and the charging cable to a suitable power source and it will begin to charge automatically.

How Do The Elf Bar 4 in 1 Pre-filled Pod Kits Perform?

Berry Edition

berry edition

Blueberry, Blueberry Sour Raspberry, Strawberry Ice and Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice

So first up, I went with the Blueberry Sour Raspberry as this is one I have vaped on numerous occasions in the Elf Bar 600 disposable vape.

This is a virtually identical experience to the disposable, although I would say that the flavour seemed to be a touch more stronger. The blueberry and raspberry tasted more pronounced and there was a stronger sour edge to it.

Blueberry is just a straightforward candied blueberry flavour, with a lot of sweetener present to it. Nothing too special about it.

Strawberry Ice was my favourite out of these four, featuring strong, thick strawberry notes to the flavour and a nice cooling touch at the end that isn’t too overwhelming. It’s just a nice, steady flavour to puff away on!

Finally, Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice gave me quite pronounced strawberry and raspberry flavours. Just like having a mouthful of strawberry and raspberry flavoured sweets and a nice chill at the end. I’m not sure where the cherry is though as I couldn’t pick up on that.

Pink Edition

pink edition

Pink Lemonade, Mad Peach, Strawberry Kiwi and Cherry Cola

I started off here with the Cherry Cola flavour and I was actually quite surprised by the strength of the flavour here!

There are strong cola notes to this with the cherry actually being more of a background note and a little touch of vanilla at the end.

Strawberry Kiwi presents these two flavours pretty much as I’ve experienced them in many other pre-filled pods and disposables. In that the strawberry flavour is quite far and away the most dominant one with the kiwi running through it as an undertone.

Pink Lemonade is a pretty standard pink lemonade flavour and the weakest of the four in my opinion.

It’s quite heavy on the lemonade flavouring but has a nice little fizz to it at the end.

Finally, onto the Mad Peach! Not so sure what is mad about it, but it’s certainly one of the more flavoursome peach flavours that I have tried in a pre-filled pod. This captures the notes of a peach fruit very well indeed, bursting with sweet and juicy flavour.

Out of the four flavours here, the Mad Peach was my favourite one of the bunch. I managed to vape through the entire pod in less than a day!

Summer Edition

summer edition

Spearmint, Blue Razz Lemonade, Pineapple Ice and Lemon Lime

Pineapple Ice is actually one of my favourite Elf Bar flavours and the pod version replicates it perfectly. There’s a delicious pineapple flavour along with a hit of sweetener and a subtle chill to finish it off.

Blue Razz Lemonade is quite heavy on the blueberry, with the raspberry and lemonade notes being more of an undertone. There’s a detectable fizz at the end of this one though which is a nice little touch!

Lemon Lime is more of a subtle lemon and lime combo, it doesn’t quite have the tang or the punch that others do.

The lemon and lime flavours are definitely there but just not as punchy as some others that I have tried.

Spearmint is a very tasty one, this tastes very much like a Polo Mint. The minty sweet, not the Volkswagen.

Having a good pull on this really gives me a nice refreshing blast and it works really well as a good palate cleanser. The mint flavouring is really crisp which is what I like in a spearmint flavour!

Device Performance

If you have already tried out the Lost Mary 4 in 1 kits, which we recently reviewed then these perform in an almost identical way!

elfbar 4in1 review

I couldn’t really tell much of a difference when using them side by side if I’m honest.

What that means is that you’ll get a mouth to lung vape from the 1.2ohm QUAQ mesh coil that is not too dissimilar to the incredibly successful Elf Bar 600 disposable vapes. And we all know how successful those have been! So it’s definitely a case of ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!’.

And I’m totally fine with that approach because the Elf Bar 600 disposables have been a popular choice for many!

However, if you prefer a bit more of a powerful vape or are a restricted lung vaper, then you might want to consider another device. This isn’t the most powerful vape on the market and it is restricted to mouth to lung vaping, there’s no way of adjusting the airflow.

You do have some control over the power output, however this is very limited. Essentially you have your ‘normal’ mode, and the ‘Eco’ mode which allows you to lower the power output to conserve battery.

Handy if you are out and are unable to recharge the battery, but that is all I would recommend it for really as I found the vape to be very weak in ‘Eco’ mode.

The battery life is a big selling point, so you are unlikely to get caught short here! Built into the device is a massive 1500mAh battery, which is one of the largest yet that I have encountered on a device like this. This lasts absolutely ages, well over a day for me, so I was never worried about taking one of these kits out and having the battery run out on me.

The only downside is that with such a large battery it does take quite a long time to recharge!

Perhaps in a V2 model (if there is one), Elf Bar might consider fast charging??

Puff Count

These are advertised as offering up to 2400 puffs from each kit in normal mode and up to 3200 puffs in eco mode and this is plastered across the box!

elfbar 4in1 fire button

Of course, how many puffs you will actually get is dependent on how frequently you use the device and how long you inhale on it for. For example, longer inhales will actually reduce the puff count as more e-liquid is drawn into the coil.

I tested this claim out myself, firstly by tallying the amount of puffs I got from one pod in normal mode and multiplying it by four and doing the same with another pod in Eco mode. Though I did find it tough with the Eco mode as the vape was a bit too weak for me!

So, in normal mode, I got 272 puffs from a single pod (times that by 4 and I get 1,088 puffs), and in Eco mode I got 308 (1,232 puffs). That’s roughly in line with other pods I have tested out from other manufacturers.

In real term usage, as I would imagine 99.9% of you reading this review don’t actually measure how many puffs you get from your pods, that meant one of these kits lasted me five days. Five days of vaping for under £12 is a pretty good deal in my eyes!

Pros

  • Reusable device, has a rechargeable battery and can purchase replacement pods
  • Option of switching between four different flavours on the go
  • Easy to use, beginner friendly
  • Massive 1500mAh battery built in
  • Lots of different flavour options to choose from
  • Revolver system to switch between flavours is one of the best that I have used

Cons

  • Still have waste from the disposable pods
  • Not the most powerful vape out there
  • No adjustable wattage or airflow
  • Unable to see how much e-liquid remains in the pod
  • Slow recharging

Final Verdict

Now, this is an Elf Bar product so I would expect it to be wildly successful just based off the brand name alone!

I do think that it is really good to see the largest disposable vape producer moving into more sustainable vaping options. This is something that I would like to see highlighted in the press rather than all the negativity around vaping, though I think that would be highly unlikely!

Of course, from a business perspective, moving to more sustainable devices is a necessary change with the impending ban on throwaway disposable vapes in the UK.

Elf Bar have become experts at providing vaping devices that are easy to use right out of the box and this one is no different. This appeals to anyone from the beginner vaper right through to the seasoned one who might grab one of these as an emergency purchase when out and about or to take away with them for a weekend break!

And this does tick the boxes.

It provides a vape that will be satisfying for many. You can switch between up to four different flavours on the move (or just stick to the one flavour if you have found one you love!), re-use the device and you’ve got plenty of battery to keep you going. All of that for less than £12!

Today I’m in familiar territory with another review of the Elf Bar 600 disposable vapes.

Elf Bar 600 disposable vapes main picNow I’m not exactly certain if these are brand new flavours. I’m guessing so. Let’s put it this way. I’m pretty sure I would have remembered the name of one of these disposables.

..As we’ll soon find out!

Hard to believe it’s been almost a year since we first looked at the Elf Bar 600. In the first review I only tested 3 flavours so this is an update. At the time I managed to uncover around 27 flavours. Since then the range has increased to over 30 so the ones under review may well be new additions.

We even rounded up our favourite Elf Bar flavours!

Elf Bar 600 flavour rangeFrom 2018 onwards, Elf Bar have held a firm grip on their philosophy of healthier and better products. Diverse is another word I’d use to describe them.

Elf Bar ELFA with its replaceable pods, the Elf Bar Cigalike and the Elf Bar Elfliq range of bottled E-liquids are all examples of how diverse and open minded this manufacturer is to the needs of the vaping public.

In recognition of this, vapers voted in their droves at the 2022 Ecigclick awards. Elf Bar came away with the top spot for number one disposable vape.

Best disposable vapes 2022

Many factors come into sharp focus to achieve this accolade. Ease of use, build quality, battery life, vapour production and above all flavour quality. These are the attributes vapers will be looking for.

Will those requirements be found in today’s review?

Let’s find out.

What Can We Expect From the Elf Bar 600 Disposable Vapes?

I think the most important change from the original review is the introduction of different salt nicotine strengths.

Along with the standard 20mg strength we now have the option of 10mg or even 0mg. I think that’s a great move, especially for those wishing to eradicate nicotine completely.

The Elf Bar 600 is quite the slim Jim and certainly adopts the traditional look and feel of a disposable vape. With a diameter of 16mm and a height of 104mm its light weight and pocket friendly.

Elf Bar 600 disposable vapes hand check picIt has a TPD friendly e-liquid capacity of 2ml, all of which is vapable over 600 puffs thanks to the 550mAh integrated battery that’s pre-charged and ready to go.

And of course with its auto draw functionality, vaping doesn’t get any easier than this!

The disposables utilise a leak free design and incorporate a ‘separate E-liquid storage cotton tank’ to keep everything sealed in.

Anatomy of an Elf Bar 600 disposable vape

So we can expect a smooth inhale from the nicotine salt and no E-liquid seeping into the mouthpiece.

Having studied the website it looks like there are currently 39 unique flavours to pick from. These range from fruits, mint, drinks, dessert, bakery and tobacco categories.

I’d say there’s pretty much something for everyone among the flavours listed.

  • Dimensions: 16mm x 104mm

Big shout out to Vape Club for sending these over for the purposes of review. It’s very much appreciated.

As always, taste is objective. A bit like Marmite. Some things you love, some things you hate. Others simply love to hate.

.. You get the gist.

Tobacco

tobacco

They say

The Tobacco Elf Bar 600 disposable vape features the classic, smoky flavour of rich and dark tobacco.

We say

One aspect of this Elf Bar 600 that quite surprised me was the presence of a bit of throat hit, which you don’t normally get from a nicotine salt based vape!

It’s not a strong throat hit by any means, but I could definitely feel the presence of it.

Now for people reading this that might not have tried a tobacco flavour before, or are quite new to vaping, you’ll find that most tobacco vape flavours are quite unlike what you would get from a cigarette.

I have always enjoyed a good tobacco vape in the ten plus years that I have vaped, and
they don’t leave you smelling like cigarettes afterwards either!

There’s no combustible tobacco flavour really to be found here, this one actually possesses creamy as well as earthy flavour notes from the tobacco flavouring. And it is almost coffee-like on the aftertaste, a little like a café crème cigar.

I guess if you are quitting smoking and are craving a tobacco flavour, or want a disposable vape that doesn’t taste of fruits like the majority of them out there, then this one might well do the job for you especially if you are after a vape that provides a bit of satisfying throat hit too.

Mellow Grape

elf bar 600 mellow grape

They say

The Mellow Grape Elf Bar 600 disposable vape features the sweet and juicy taste of grape in every puff.

We say

When opening the packet up there is an unmistakeably strong smell of grape present,
reminding me of the smell of a grape soda.

That scent kind of sets the tone for this e-liquid, the grape flavouring did taste like the grape flavour I would find in a grape soda, and there seemed to be a floral like note in the background that cut down on the sweetness.

I was expecting this to be quite a sweet flavour but it surprisingly wasn’t as sweet as I originally expected it to be.

My wife really likes grape flavours, certainly more than I do, and she enjoyed this Elf Bar that is for sure, saying that it had all the right notes she looks for in a grape flavour!

Apple Pear

apple pear

They say

The Apple Pear Elf Bar 600 disposable vape pairs sharp apple notes with sweet pear in this
juicy-tasting fusion of orchard fruits.

We say

I’m not sure what has happened to the pear flavouring here, I couldn’t taste it at all!

Maybe it is my tastebuds, but the only flavour note that I could pick up was a crisp red apple note all the way through. It’s got a good bite to it, and of course this is accentuated with a generous amount of sweetener too.

Although the apple flavouring is really enjoyable, I have had to dock this one some points as I couldn’t taste any pear flavouring in it at all which is a shame as I think it would have paired up really well with the tasty apple flavour note!

Menthol

menthol

They say

The Menthol Elf Bar disposable vape is a great choice for new and experienced vapers who
prefer a simple device.

We say

Not a bad menthol flavour here, a pretty decent choice if you are looking for a chilly and refreshing disposable vape!

I actually felt that this reminded me of toothpaste, there’s a bit of mint present before the chilly coolness of menthol sweeps in and chills me right down to the bone.

The strength of the chill from the menthol actually took me by surprise, I didn’t expect it to taste as strongly as it did, and it definitely gets stronger with a good deep pull on this Elf Bar!

Blackcurrant Apple

elf bar 600 blackcurrant apple

They say

The Blackcurrant Apple Elf Bar 600 disposable vape pairs the sharp taste of apple with dark and juicy blackcurrant notes.

We say

Apple and blackcurrant are two of my favourite fruits so I was quite excited to try this one out!

I pick up on the same apple flavouring that is present in the Apple Pear Elf Bar 600, with some pretty bold blackcurrant flavouring in the background. That gives me crisp and sharp notes from the apple mixed with the sweetness and juiciness of the blackcurrant.

I felt that the apple flavour was just a touch stronger than the blackcurrant flavour, but they do mix together well and the blend reminded me of apple and blackcurrant squash.

It is a very moreish mix and there doesn’t feel like there is as much sweetener present than some of the other Elf Bars in the range.

If I’m being picky I would say that I would have liked just a little more blackcurrant flavouring, as it is delightfully juicy, but other than that this is a pretty well rounded blend!

Watermelon Strawberry

watermelon strawberry

They say

The Watermelon Strawberry Elf Bar 600 disposable vape features sweet strawberry notes and the juicy flavour of watermelon.

We say

I wasn’t terribly keen on this one as it featured a lot of artificial watermelon flavouring that left me with a bit of a nasty chemical aftertaste. There’s quite a lot of sweetener present here which I picked up on quickly.

The strawberry flavouring is quite decent and tasted a bit like a strawberry chewit sweet, but this flavour note gets pretty overwhelmed by the watermelon flavouring, relegating it to more of a background note.

Not one for me I am afraid, that chemical aftertaste just ruined the whole vibe for me!

Rose Lemonade

rose lemonade

They say

The Rose Lemonade Elf Bar 600 disposable vape combines the sweet and fizzy taste of
lemonade with floral notes of rose from your first puff to your last.

We say

So this one was a really odd experience for me, I’m still very much on the fence when it comes to floral notes in vaping and this one hasn’t done much to change my opinion there.

It took me a fair old while to really ‘get’ this, on my first puff I was thinking nope, this is really not for me but I carried on puffing away on it and it grew on me. I guess I found it a little strange at first!

I get a fizzy lemonade with deep lemon citrus notes and sweetener, and a rose floral note running right through the middle. It is something you really have to try to truly understand it.

I think that it is definitely something a little different, certainly when compared to a lot of the over-sweetened fruity blends that tend to dominate the disposables market.

I do enjoy it…I think?!

Blueberry Cranberry Cherry

Elf Bar 600 blueberry cranberry cherry

Elf Bar Says:

Sweet notes of Blueberries paired with tangy-sweet Cranberries and delicious Cherries that create a tantalizing vape experience with a fruity aftertaste.

I Say:

New territory for me. I don’t think I’ve come across this recipe before in a disposable, so what’s it like?

It’s predominantly a Blueberry vape.

We get that classic disposable vape taste and it offers no real surprises. It’s at the forefront of the exhale but there are also some very subtle Cherry notes. I don’t think they’re enhanced as much as they could be, though.

It’s that raised level of sweetness again. I’m sure it’s masking the tiny red fruit, removing some of its tart like qualities as it does so.

Of course, some of it could be attributed to Cranberries but I’ve never really understood their place in a vape to be honest. You will notice its sourness though as it latches on to that sweet laden exhale.

However, the flavour is strong and lingers on the taste buds. You’ll certainly pick out the Blueberry.

Elfsuka

Elf Bar 600 elfsuka

Elf Bar Says:

A Berry blend with icy highlights capturing a medley of summer Berries fused with refreshing crisp Menthol that creates a cooling vape experience with a delicious aftertaste.

I Say:

Ahem! OK.. I’m probably misreading that title. Don’t tell me you’re not thinking along the same lines though! lol

Anyway, the aroma. It smells very much like an Antiseptic. You may scoff but that’s genuinely the smell I get from the mouthpiece.

You know how you either love or hate a vape? Well. I hate this one.

It honestly has not one redeeming quality about it, I’m afraid. How could it when I feel like I’m vaping something designed for muscular pain relief?

There’s a sweetness pulled up on the inhale but it then goes belly up from there. It does also feel like there are traces of Cinnamon filtering through. I’m at a total loss when it comes to any kind of fruit.

The vape is constantly under the weight of Menthol which is also quite strongly felt with Elfsuka.

I guess I could use it as a palate cleanser.. But then again, maybe not.

Ginger Cola

Elf Bar 600 Ginger Cola

Elf Bar Says:

A beverage blend with spiced highlights capturing warm and spicy Ginger notes fused with refreshing fizzy Cola that create a tantalizing vape experience.

I Say:

A fresh take on a tired formula. How many Cola vapes have you tried in the past?

I vaped plenty way back in the early days. I never felt there were given the justice they should or could deserve. That’s because they always tasted too concentrated, too syrupy and also sickly sweet.

Nothing’s really changed on that score today but what has made a difference is the addition of Ginger. The combination with Cola is as welcome as Salt and Vinegar as a partnership.

It works fantastically. The spicier qualities of the exhale actually bring a much needed fizz. That’s just what this beverage profile is screaming out for.

Coupled with some finely balanced Coolada, we have a drink flavoured vape with real zing and pop.

This is the same Ginger concentrate found in the Ginger Man Elf Bar 600 Lux Christmas edition. I think it actually works more effectively this time round.

A nice vape to take with you on long, hot Summer jaunts.

Watermelon Bubble Gum

elf Bar 600 watermelon bubble gum

Elf Bar Says:

Juicy Watermelon flavours paired with sweet Bubble Gum that create a tantalizing vape experience with a fruity aftertaste.

I Say:

It’s a combination of sweetness, Coolada and refreshing Watermelon. The fruit punches through first on the exhale, followed by a concentrated sweetness that sticks to the lips.

I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of such elevated levels of sweetness and all too often it takes centre stage over that mouth wateringly decent Watermelon.

I get that Bubble Gum is the culprit here – or should be but I’m finding a distinct lack of gumminess on this occasion.

If you’re a fellow chain vaper you’ll also need to be aware of how quickly that icy cold blast takes a hold.

Watermelon Bubble Gum has enough appeal but in my opinion also more than enough sweetness.

Watermelon Pomegranate

Elf Bar 600 watermelon pomegranate

Elf Bar Says:

Juicy Watermelon flavours paired with tangy sweet Pomegranate that create a tantalizing vape experience with a fruity aftertaste.

I Say:

There’s a surprising lack of sweetness on the inhale. I’ve come to brace myself when it comes to disposables so that made for a change, at least.

The exhale is very pleasant indeed. The inclusion of Pomegranate really does make a difference to the flavour. It almost has a sauce like quality to it and I wouldn’t class this as a classic Watermelon vape by any stretch.

In fact, the Watermelon only really makes itself known at the start of the exhale. The Pomegranate then latches on quickly, creating a very different taste altogether.

I’m highly impressed with the blending and I don’t often say that about disposable vapes. It does have a sour edge but again, that stitches in very nicely with everything on offer.

Even the cooling kick to the back of the throat plays its role with Watermelon Pomegranate.

I wasn’t particularly looking forwards to this one but Elf Bar have honestly surprised me – In a good way.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

I could distinctly tell when the battery was nearing the end of its life span and the juice was running low. The vape would take on a slightly different flavour. A bit funky.

I did manage a highly respectable 9.5 hours continuous use and for the majority of the time the disposable performed very well. It constantly delivered on the flavour, even at times of chain vaping.

You can easily expect those 600 puffs. It’s an area where the Elf Bar 600 won’t let you down.

Elf Bar 600 Disposable Vapes – Final Review Verdict

Well that was an experience. I thought the flavours went from above average with the likes of Ginger Cola and Watermelon Pomegranate to plain detestable with Elfsuka.

Again, there’s too much sweetener in these vapes for me (personally) to be able to enjoy everything that’s on offer. Elf Bar have shown how they’re capable of mixing flavours to good effect. Also, sometimes the Menthol could do with toning down a little.

In some cases I don’t even think it’s necessary.

The fruits are of generic quality yet will still appeal en masse and appreciated by new or casual vapers. Let’s face it, that’s the target audience and to this end the Elf Bar 600 always succeeds.

So if you’re looking for a reliable and flavoursome vape that constantly delivers, you really don’t need to search too far.

If you fancy a refillable and rechargeable Elf Bar – we may have the solution in the Elf Bar ELFX pod kit!

Elfbar Elfx review

Elf Bar is arguably the most recognisable name in the industry right now. Thanks to their Elf Bar and Lost Mary disposable vape ranges which are available absolutely everywhere!

The brand picked up the ‘Best Disposable Vape’ award in the 2022 and 2023 Ecigclick awards.

Best disposable 2023

The ELFX is far from Elf Bar’s first foray into pod kits however, having released devices such as the Mate 500 and ELFA PRO for example. They have also got the ELFLIQ e-liquid range, which boasts all the best-selling Elf Bar flavours in E-Liquid form!

What Can We Expect From The Elf Bar ELFX Pod Kit?

As disposables are potentially on their way out in the UK, manufacturers are turning their attention to pod kits. Which offer a much longer lifespan than single use disposable vapes and are far more environmentally friendly too.

elf bar elfx colours

Plus, you can fill them with your e-liquid of choice and reuse them many times over!

The ELFX is the latest refillable pod system from Elf Bar and it is designed to be a step-up from single use disposable vapes.

You’ve got a built in 1000mAh battery here, designed to power you through the day and up to a whopping 30 watts worth of power from this device with the 0.4ohm coil (Available to buy separately), upto 25W with the 0.6oHm coil and upto 17W with the 0.8Ohm coil.

Plus, recharging is made easy thanks to the USB-C charging port.

Elf Bar ELFX pods have a TPD-friendly 2ml capacity, with a handy top-filling system. This means you don’t need to remove the pod from the device when it is time to fill it back up.

The pods come in resistances of 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm and have built in QUAQ dual mesh coils for increased performance and richer flavour.

Also present on the device is adjustable airflow, making it compatible with mouth to lung (MTL) and restricted direct lung (RDL) vaping. Unsure of what those terms mean? Then check out our Guide to Vaping Styles!

The ELFX has been designed to work flawlessly with Elf Bar’s ELFLIQ range of e-liquids, meaning that you can enjoy your favourite Elf Bar flavours in this device!

You’ve got a selection of six different colours to pick from, you are able to choose from Black, Blue, Grey, Purple, Silver and Pink finishes.

Elf Bar ELFX Design & Build Quality

The ELFX is a bit on the tall side compared to other pod systems out there, but it is quite lightweight. The 115.4mm x 25.5mm x 15.3mm dimensions actually translate to quite a sleek profile here.

It’s certainly a comfortable device to hold and use!

elf bar elfx in hand

I liked the fact that all edges are rounded, which means you’ve got nothing sharp sticking into your palm when you grip the device.

The form factor is great and I can’t fault the looks of this pod system too.

There is a shiny metallic finish around the top of the device, but this is prone to picking up scratches and fingerprints!

The ELFX and Elf Bar logos are printed quite prominently on the device with the CE marking located at the side.

Also on the side of the device is the sliding airflow control system. At the base, you’ll find the USB-C charging port.

elfbar elfx battery and pod

Elf Bar’s QUAQ dual mesh coil ELFX pods connect magnetically to the device.

There is wobble present if you grip the pod and give it a wiggle but I haven’t experienced a single issue with a pod accidentally coming loose from the device.

These have a top filling system (which we will cover in more detail below) and a built in coil. So once your pod starts to taste burnt or there is a lack of flavour, you just dispose of the pod and replace it with a new one.

With the pod in the device you can see exactly how much e-liquid you have left without needing to remove the pod which is handy!

RGB Lights

The shiny area at the top is also where the bright, immersive RGB lighting is located.

The RGB lights become noticeable when inserting a new pod, taking a puff on the device, charging or if a safety protection kicks in.

Quick Start Guide

How To Fill The Elf Bar ELFX Pod

ELFX pods have a top filling system, with the filling port located at the side of the pod near the top of it (top-side filling anyone?). This is handy as it means you don’t need to remove the pod in order to refill it.

fill port

  • Simply lift up the silicon filling port cover and pop your bottle nozzle in, making sure not to overfill otherwise e-liquid will come spilling back out.how to fill the elf bar elfx pod

This has been designed to work best with ELFLIQ e-liquids, so 50/50 VG/PG nicotine salt based e-liquid is a good match here!

If this is a brand new pod that you are filling for the first time, let the e-liquid sit inside it for five minutes before taking a puff.

This is so that the cotton can fully absorb the e-liquid. This step will prolong the lifespan of your pod and reduce the chance of nasty, burnt hits occurring.

It’s a simple and easy to use system that makes filling your pod dead easy!

Operation

No buttons or anything to mess around with here, simply fill up a pod, pop it in and vape away!

You’ve got the ability to adjust the airflow of the device using the smooth airflow slider located on the side. This allows you to make the vape looser or tighter depending on your preferences.

elfx pod silver

The RGB lighting isn’t just for show here, it also functions as an indicator of battery life.

To see how much battery life you have left, check which colour is displayed when you insert or remove a pod.

Green means you have 100-80% left, Greeny-Yellow is 80-60%, Yellow is 60-40%, Orange is 40-20% and Red is less than 20%.

8 second vape cut off, short circuit, high temperature and low battery safety protections are built into the device and the RGB lighting will flash Red if one of these has been triggered.

Also when taking a puff the RGB lighting will flash a random selection of colours.

If you aren’t a fan of the RGB lighting, you can turn it off entirely by quickly removing and reinserting the pod three times.

Charging

The ELFX charges via USB-C and you handily get a USB-C cable included with the kit.

elfx usbc charge port

Plug this into the base of the device and the RGB lighting will illuminate to indicate that the ELFX is charging. This will switch off once it has fully charged.

elfx cpod vape with charge cable

And this usually takes just under an hour from flat to full.

How Does The Elf Bar ELFX Perform?

You get both the 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm QUAQ dual mesh coil ELFX pods with the kit, which allows you to decide which one you prefer.

These have been designed to work best with Elf Bar’s range of ELFLIQ e-liquids, a selection of which Elf Bar generously sent along with the ELFX for this review!

elfbar elfx pod

There’s no adjustable wattage settings here, power output is smartly selected by the in-built chip and determined by the resistance of the coil / battery charge remaining.

Two pods come with he kit with two others being available separately. In addition to the below we also have:

  • 0.4Ohm | Fires at 30W
  • 1.0Ohm | Fires at 13W
  • 1.2Ohm | Fires at 10W

0.6ohm Pod

The 0.6ohm pod is the most powerful of the two. This is the one you’ll want to use to take advantage of 25W power output of the ELFX.

This is primarily designed for restricted direct lung vaping, so an airier draw. However you can close the airflow down and still happily vape mouth to lung with this one.

0.8ohm Pod

The 0.8ohm pod still works great for airy, restricted direct lung vaping but is better suited to having the airflow closed down for a mouth to lung vape. This coil allows for a max of 17W power.

I felt the flavour was more intense that way and just seemed to suit the pod better.

To me the flavour was great with both of these pods and they really bought out the flavour notes in my ELFLIQ e-liquids. I was a big fan of the Rinbo flavour and the Pineapple Ice tasted even better than the disposable version – much more pineapple-y!

Thanks to the instant activation system, when you take a draw on the device there’s absolutely no noticeable delay in the coils firing, you just get flavour delivered to your palate immediately.

elf bar elfx pod vape - blue

I did notice that occasionally I would get a bit of e-liquid in my mouth when taking a draw on the pod when the battery was quite low, but this was fairly infrequent. This is due to the power being too low to fully vaporise the e-liquid.

Airflow is adjustable and with it fully open you can get a pretty decent amount of dense vapour production! Thanks to the adjustable airflow, the ELFX handles both mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vaping effortlessly.

A 1000mAh battery is built into the device which is more than enough to last most people an entire day, it certainly did just fine for me!

Though when the RGB light starts displaying Orange, you’ll want to recharge the ELFX as the vape will start getting pretty weak.

Does It Vape Like An Elf Bar Disposable?

In a word, no.

This is capable of putting out much more power than a disposable Elf Bar can. Even with the airflow closed right down I couldn’t really replicate the tight, cigarette-like mouth to lung vape that I would expect from the disposable version.

elf bar elfx pink

You’ll get a more flavoursome vape from the Elf Bar ELFX than you would from a disposable however. Plus you have the added bonus of being able to fill the pods with your own e-liquids.

If the vape you get from a disposable Elf Bar is much more preferable to you, then it is worth considering looking at the Elf Bar ELFA PRO pod kit!

ELFX Pod Lifespan

The ELFX pods offer an impressive lifespan. In total I got some good vaping from the 0.6ohm pod for 3 weeks before the flavour started turning and a change was necessary.

Really good going.

Pros

  • Restricted direct lung and mouth to lung vaping
  • Both 0.6ohm and 0.8ohm pod variations are included in the kit
  • Full e-liquid capacity is visible when the pod is in the device
  • Good lifespan from the pods, can get plenty of refills here
  • Easy to fill the pod without needing to remove it from the device
  • Work superbly well with Elf Bar ELFLIQ e-liquids and other nicotine salt based e-liquids!
  • Long-lasting battery life

Cons

  • Occasionally get e-liquid spitting back into my mouth when the battery is low
  • Need to remove and re-insert the pod to check battery life
  • Vape becomes very weak when battery is low
  • Metallic finish is prone to picking up scratches

Final Verdict

I’ve tried out the Elf Bar Mate 500 in the past and in terms of performance, the Elf Bar ELFX absolutely blows it away in my opinion. This is an excellent upgrade from Elf Bar!

This is down to the increased power from the device in conjunction with the QUAQ dual mesh coils present inside the ELFX pod, delivering a great flavour experience.

Battery capacity receives a bump up to 1000mAh which makes all the difference when you are looking for a pod system that will last you through the day. You can definitely power through some long vaping sessions with this device!

If you are transitioning over from disposables, you’ll find you’ll get a much better vape from an ELFX. With the added bonus of being able to use your own choice of e-liquids, flavours and nicotine strengths. Plus you can reuse this device over and over again.

Today I’ve got my sausage fingers on the new Elf Bar 600 V2 disposable vapes.

Elfbar 600V2 main imageIt really hasn’t taken Elf Bar very long to become major players on the disposable vape scene. Their original Elf Bar 600 has proven to be extremely popular and more often than not, these are the ones I see most casual vapers opting to use.

Elf Bar haven’t dropped the ball when it comes to public opinion either.

Disposables can be expensive – so they created the ELFLIQ 10ml E-liquid range. Designed for use with pod kits and starter kits, the disposable flavour experience could now be replicated in a more cost effective manner.

Elf Bar disposable logo

Disposables have an impact on the environment – Elf Bar created the excellent ELFA pod and ELFA Pro pod kits to help reduce such impact.

Their efforts were awarded last year with the Ecigclick award for best disposable vape with the OG Elf Bar 600.

Best disposable vapes 2022

Now they’ve released the V2 so we can expect some refinements along the way.

Let’s check those out right now.

What Can We Expect From the Elf Bar 600 V2 Disposable Vapes?

They say appearances can be deceptive and that’s definitely the case with the new Elf Bar 600 V2. It carries the same shape and design of the original but there are some significant differences inside and out.

Elfbar 600V2 disposable vapeThe dulled down plastic outer shell of the OG has been ditched in favour of a metallic finish that really does pop in the light. Overall weight has been reduced and it feels much cooler to the touch.

Inside, QUAC technology replaces the standard mesh coil with an improved thinner material covering a larger surface area to increase flavour and enhance blend quality.

A new modular battery has been included that not only ups the game for flavour consistency but also designed to accelerate the recycling processes.

Elfbar 600V2 QUAC tech

The Elf Bar 600 V2 is powered by a 550mAh integrated battery that should last for anything up to 600 puffs. It’s pre-filled with a TPD Friendly 2ml of E-liquid and the nicotine salt strength appears to be set at 20mg.

The OG offered 10mg as an alternative so it may only be a matter of time before the V2 does the same.

Familiar Elf Bar flavours make a return but the upgraded disposable also boasts a few new ones of its own. Expect a range of fruity, drink and sweet based profiles to delight the ‘ole taste buds.

As with all disposables, the Elf Bar 600 V2 is ready to vape straight out of the box and all you need to do is inhale from the mouthpiece to get started.

.. Just remember to remove the silicone bung and sticker on the base first. You’re going to look a bit silly otherwise! 😉

Specifications

  • Size: 16 x 105mm
  • Battery capacity: 550mAh
  • E-liquid capacity: 2ml
  • E-liquid ratio: 50VG/50PG
  • Nicotine strength: 20mg (2%) salt nicotine
  • Puffs: Up to 600

Huge thanks to Vape Club for sending these over for the purposes of review – much appreciated.

OK, let’s see if the Elf Bar 600 V2 disposables improve over the originals. How consistently do they vape and how long can we expect the battery to last? Just as importantly – is 600 puffs a realistic figure?

Apple Watermelon

Apple WatermelonElf Bar Says:

A blend of two fruity flavours. Crisp notes of Apple are complemented by a sweet Watermelon finish.

I Say:

Now this is what you call flavour blending! It’s fantastic.

I often think it’s quite difficult to fuse these two flavours and I may well have just found the best example of how to get it right.

There’s very little to suggest anything by way of the inhale. I also notice very little in the way of sweetness being pulled in.

Yet everything develops rapidly on the exhale. Just the right amount of sweetener throughout and the mix of Watermelon to Apple is bang on!

I think the ripe Apple offsets any of the usual oily texture often found with Watermelon vapes. It doesn’t have a sharp or sour taste, either. Just plenty of succulent flavour throughout.

It’s almost as if Elf Bar have created a brand new flavour and both fruits have a balanced, subtle effect that just wants me to vape even more.

Yes, I would have included a little less in the way of cooling agent. It does linger for a longer period than the flavour on the palate but they’re just my own observations.

One of the most refreshing vapes I’ve had for quite some time and that says it all!

Banana Mango

Ef Bar 600 V2 Banana MangoElf Bar Says:

Delivering a tropical fruit blend. Creamy Banana notes are sweetened by the taste of exotic Mango.

I Say:

This time there’s a whole lotta sweetness drawn up on the inhale. It can be felt on the back of the throat alongside a soothing icy chill in equal measure.

The flavour in Banana Mango is really rather intense and you’re definitely getting bang for your buck! There is an aspect of cream involved but is cancelled out on the whole by the sweeter elements of the exhale.

I have to say this is another great fusion of fruity flavour, though. Both Banana and Mango are more than happy to work alongside each other.

There’s also a level of sourness kicking out but adds another dimension to the vape. It gives it more of a cutting edge on the initial exhale.

I’m quite chuffed Mango doesn’t produce the usual ammonia aroma so often present. There’s no nasty after taste generated, only an effective blending of the two fruits.

Other than maybe too much sweetener, Banana Mango is a clear demonstration of how to mix two flavours and get the right results.

Blueberry Kiwi

Blueberry KiwiElf Bar Says:

Combining juicy Blueberry and tangy Kiwi notes for a fruity vape that’s both sweet and sharp.

I Say:

The flavour is rich in Blueberry and Kiwi – showing off the benefits of QUAC technology in my opinion. It’s as consistent at the end of the vape as the start with plenty of sourness involved throughout.

That’s probably the overriding theme with this one. Sourness. And I dig it.

I have to be honest, though. This isn’t really a flavour I could vape for long. That’s because it’s far too candy like in output. I don’t have an issue with the intensity or blending – it’s on par.  I’m just not keen on the overall results.

It’s easy enough to separate the Blueberry from Kiwi but the former is too synthetic tasting for my particular taste buds and the latter provides more sharpness than I would like.

So together with the cooling aspect of the vape, Blueberry Kiwi is just too much for my sensitive taste buds to handle!

If sweetie type vapes are your thang, and not too fussed about an artificial taste it may well be to your liking.

Whether I’m keen or not, flavour is there by the vape load.

Lemon Lime

Lemon LimeElf Bar Says:

Providing a tangy and sweet citrus blend. The distinct flavour of sharp Lemon combines with juicy-tasting notes of Lime.

I Say:

Whoa! There’s a whole lotta Lime in the air when ripping this open from the blister pack.

Awesome! Lemon and Lime in equal measure – just as it should be.

I’m extra pleased that there’s not too much sweetness thrown into the mix. It works where it should. At the start and end of the exhale.

The Lemon tastes fresh and lively and the Lime simply pops along throughout. It’s got the ‘zing’ factor, that’s for sure.

A very tropical blend and extremely refreshing on the taste buds. Not too sharp, not to citric either.

Combined with an icy cold inhale, Lemon Lime is on par with a tasty thirst quenching fruit beverage and one that’s ideal for these hot Summer days.

Another highly consistent vape that never lets me down for quality flavour.

Mojito

MojitoElf Bar Says:

A cocktail-inspired fusion. Juicy Lime is rounded out by notes of cool and sweet Mint.

I Say:

Again the aroma of Lime hits the nostrils once this one’s open to the air.

I have to say that this is the most intense flavour out of the bunch tested. I’m hit with a whirlpool of sweetness during the inhale that never lets up throughout the entire vape.

That’s going to please many folk but I’m a grumpy sod and it’s just a spoonful of sugar too much for me!

The intensity of the Lime can also be overwhelming to begin with but I did acclimatise to it. Another fine example of how QUAC technology is really pumping flavour though.

There’s some mint wrapped around that Lime too so no doubt contributes to flavour intensity and once again it’s noticeable for its own qualities. That impresses me.

Towards the end of the vape citrus notes can be observed and fuse with the sweetness. You probably get the vape picture by now – concentrated Lime with additional bite.

The addition of Koolada elevates Mojito to a whole new a senses stimulating experience.

Disposables can be intense tasting but this one is extreme. In a good way, of course.

Watermelon Bubblegum

Elf Bar 600 V2 Watermelon BubblegumElf Bar Says:

Combines a candy flavour with a tropical twist. The sugary, soft taste of Bubblegum complements notes of juicy Watermelon.

I Say:

Yeah definitely a candy inspired vape if ever there was one.

This one works a little differently in terms of blending. It’s effective as usual but the effect differs slightly.

On the way in there’s the usual abundance of sweetness and cooling but the two flavours respond quite uniquely.

To begin with, Watermelon that tastes the strongest. Yes, it’s the usual disposable vape variety and Elf Bar haven’t offered anything new in this respect but it morphs into a Bubble gum style of vape towards the end of the exhale.

And the chewy sweet is left to settle on the flavour palate as an additional treat. With remnants of Watermelon lingering in the nasal cavities. A bit explicit, I know but that’s the overall experience.

So again – extreme flavour backed up with a bucketful of ice cubes. A highly refreshing candy style vape. I don’t often say that!

Apple Peach

Apple PeachElf Bar Says:

Apple Peach is a delicious fruit combination with a light taste. The addition of soft and sweet peach complements the crispy and juicy apple flavour.

I Say:

Whoa! The aroma of Apple is strong.

It’s also very strong when it comes to the sweetness of the inhale. That sweetness instantly combines with a sourness from the common garden fruit but the flavour generated during exhale is really quite unique.

The combination of Apple and Peach is pretty effective. I don’t feel either one is more dominant.

They combine to offer up a completely new and fresh taste experience.

Both feel well balanced and flavour is consistent throughout, tinged with a bitterness that only helps with the overall bite of the vape.

However, a mixture of sweet, sour and bitterness when mixed with the inevitable cooling agent does have a tendency to wreak havoc on the ‘ole tonsils.

And maybe it’s more about those attributes than the actual fruit content on this occasion.

One thing’s for sure. Apple Peach certainly stimulates the taste buds so could very well come in handy as a ‘morning after the night before’ vape.

Blue Razz Lemonade

Elf Bar 600 V2 Blue Razz LemonadeElf Bar Says:

Blue Razz Lemonade enhances the tanginess of traditional lemonade with a delightful sweetness of blue raspberry.

I Say:

An overpowering and very sulphuric blend.

Blue Razz Lemonade still manages to pack a powerhouse of flavour. It seems like one of those vapes where taste is compacted down into the inhale and beginning of the exhale.

It begins with an over abundance of sweetness on the way in combined with icy cold fingers tantalizing the tonsils. Before an initial acrid taste on the way out.

But fear not!

The flavour of both Lemonade and Raspberry do eventually plough through and separate to leave a very refreshing taste on the palate.

You’ll finish the vape on stronger notes of Lemonade than anything else but the end product is still concentrated leaving a flavour clout for the taste buds to enjoy.

Not the most consistent vape in the bunch but still enjoyable all the same.

Cherry Cola

Cherry ColaElf Bar Says:

Indulge in the fruity twist of Cherry Cola, a vape juice that takes inspiration from the classic soda. The fizzy cola taste is perfectly balanced with a bold and sweet cherry exhale.

I Say:

I get a very strong whiff of synthetic Cherry with this one. Doesn’t bode particularly well so how’s the flavour?

It’s overloaded and to be quite honest a little bit too much for my sensitive taste buds.

And I’ve got to be brutally honest because that’s how I roll, this one taste more like soap than anything else. Soap with an extreme rough edge.

Not great.

In other words, an exaggerated flavour that mutates beyond all recognition. Whether it’s because both concentrates are just too strongly applied, whether the Koolada is creating a roughness – hard to say.

I don’t think the sweetener is over the top. I find no issue with its presence.

I just don’t appreciate the way the Cherry tastes. It’s far too chemical tasting and the Cola is clearly overshadowed, lacking the spicy, Cinnamon back notes I know and love.

Having said all that I guess if you’ve got a sweet tooth and care little for natural, smooth tasting vape, give Cherry Cola a gander.

It’s just not for me on this occasion.

Elfbull Ice

Elfbull IceElf Bar Says:

The Energy Drink Ice flavour is a unique, tangy blend. The sweet taste of soda makes up the body of this blend and the cool notes of the menthol compliment the fizziness.

I Say:

This is your classic energy drink in overdrive and with even more sweetener than the popular beverage itself!

It’s ram packed and were this the real thing, you’d be making frequent visits to your dentist.

The candy like properties are high on a list of priorities and really punch through. Highly concentrated on the ‘ole taste buds.

The flavour is rich and deep, delivered constantly with every exhale.

If you’re a fan of this kind of refreshment you’re going to really appreciate what Elfbull has to offer.

I didn’t personally pick out any fizziness to the vape although it still remains thirst quenching enough.

There’s a thick, syrupy texture to enjoy combined with a sourness and a few tangy, citrus like notes thrown in for good measure.

A soothing cold inhale is the icing on this particular vape cake. Give Elfbull Ice a try and you’ll be flying in no time!

Banana Ice

Banana IceElf Bar Says:

Enjoy the delicious taste of sweet and creamy banana, perfectly complemented by a refreshing icy exhale. This fruity vape offers a satisfyingly chilly finish that’s sure to please.

I Say:

Another strong and pungent aroma is noticed once the blister pack is opened. I must say the smell of the fruit is quite alluring – there’s nothing to suggest anything other than a top drawer vape.

So is it?

And I’m not proved wrong although there are one or two idiosyncrasies to the exhale.

There’s a slow build up to the sweeter elements during inhale on this occasion and accompanied with a sharp, almost cutting icy blast to the throat.

The lips are also affected with Banana Ice and I think therein lies some of the issue I have overall with this one.

Top heavy with the Koolada, ultimately distracting from what is a very decent Banana flavour. It’s not the usual soft foam sweet variety, either. Despite an absence of milky notes I’m still reminded of a Banana shake.

However that sweetness continues to grow and envelop the fruit to the point of becoming yet another distraction.

Don’t get me wrong – there’s absolutely nothing with the flavour qualities. I’ve tasted much worse from versions of the bendy yellow fruit.

It’s just a shame sweetness on top of sweetness is the effect I’m getting. The intensity of the inhale just doesn’t set things up the way I’d like.

Grape

GrapeElf Bar Says:

If you’re looking for a fruity vape option, Grape might be a good choice. This blend offers a strong and sweet flavour of black grape that you can taste with every puff.

I Say:

Going straight into this one I have to say right off the bat I’ve never been a fan of Grape vapes.

This one does little, if anything to change my mind.

Yes, it does have flavour by the vape load but it’s a flavour I simply do not like. So no reflection on Elf Bar whatsoever.

What we have here is another over exaggerated, highly concentrated version. Extremely sweet with a strong candy like edge running throughout.

So much so that it leaves a noxious taste on the palate even after vaping.

It’s a shame Elf Bar didn’t at least bring something new to the table, opting for a simple single fruit affair. And it is a shame because the Koolada levels are on point and nicely balanced against the flavour.

For the life of me, I can never understand how this passes as Grape. Distinct and characteristic for sure but there’s no way it resemble black Grape.

Of course that’s just my opinion. Horses for courses. Grapes for vapes.

Mad Blue

Mad BlueElf Bar Says:

Mad Blue offers a delightful blend of various berry flavours. Enjoy the sweetness of blueberry, the tanginess of raspberry, and the richness of blackcurrant in every puff, creating a perfectly balanced fruity vaping experience.

I Say:

Not bad at all. It’s a very candy, sweetie inspired vape and that’s evident from the very first exhale.

There’s plenty of sweetness drawn up during inhale which thankfully distributes itself evenly on the way out. Mad Blue could very easily have been another one of those sickly sweet vapes.

So, many of the flavour attributes are able to pull through, unmasked. Something I always look for in a disposable vape.

And to be perfectly fair the Raspberry and Blackcurrant do make a good partnership. The flavours seem to tumble over one another and that’s quite satisfying in my opinion.

Blueberry does make itself known but I found that to be towards the dying embers of the exhale. More of an ‘echo’ of a flavour – just enough to register on the taste buds.

More importantly it complements rather than distract from the overall flavour blending.

You’ll also be left with a tinge of ‘sugar lips’ but never to the point of total saturation. Believe me, that does happen with disposables.

Mad Blue is another of those vapes that benefits from the icy cold inhale. It sets the scene for a nice mixture of fruits and overall is a refreshing and tasty vape.

Good work!

Kiwi Passionfruit Guava

Kiwi Passionfruit GuavaElf Bar Says:

Experience a tropical paradise with every puff of our delightful Kiwi, Passion Fruit, and Guava blend. Savour the tangy kiwi, juicy passion fruit, and sweet guava flavours that create exquisite and fruity notes.

I Say:

One word from that flavour description. The word that instantly jumps out from the vape.

Tangy.

Oh boy is it tangy. It’s at the very heart of the flavour and as much a constant as the sweeter elements of the vape.

In fact those two contributory factors are evident on the opening inhale. So is the Koolada which adds extra roughness and bite. So this vape is alive even before discussing fruit values, of which there are more than enough to go around.

Kiwi is the guiding force with this one. Absolutely no doubt in my mind. The Guava prefers much more of a slower exhale if you want the best it has to offer. It’s inclusion is on the subtle side but not to the extent of Passionfruit.

Passionfruit feels like an after thought – not that I’ve ever really considered it to be a powerful flavour when it comes to vapes.

And sourer notes do spill through on occasion so we are assured of no dryness to the exhale.

Yes, a veritable tropical treat by all accounts and that vibe is extremely well weighted in Kiwi Passionfruit Guava.

Get some! On a hot sunny afternoon. It’ll certainly quench that thirst.

Cola

ColaElf Bar Says:

Recreates the familiar flavour of American soda. From inhale to exhale you’ll experience the authentic flavour of sugary, fizzy cola.

I Say:

Cola is a tad on the strong side, if I’m honest.

You’ll definitely get the refreshing taste of classic Cola but it comes with a little bit of baggage.

An attempt has been made to create the fizz associated with this popular beverage but it translates as something rather different.

I found it to cause something of a stinging effect on the surface of the lips, amplified by the included cooling agent.

Add to this an inherent dryness that no amount of sweetness can mask and you’re not really getting an entirely accurate representation of this all year round favourite.

Yes, it’s tasty enough and packs a consistent flavour clout each and every vape but there’s no escaping the artificial nature of this vape.

Strawberry Ice

Strawberry IceElf Bar Says:

Takes the familiar flavour of ripe, juicy strawberry and adds a chilly ice exhale for a fruity vape with a cool kick.

I Say:

Mmm. Smells quite promising, at least!

However this is not a ripe, juicy version of Strawberry. Not that I expected miracles from a disposable vape.

It’s the usual candy style take on the popular Summer fruit – not necessarily a bad thing and certain accessible to the mainstream audience it’s targeting.

There is a sweetness to the exhale but clearly not in the league associated with a natural tasting Berry. Instead it lingers on the periphery, detached from the single flavour on offer, never adding anything to lift the taste.

Again, there does seem to be a drier quality to the vape. I don’t expect that from such a mouth watering, juicy fruit. As a consequence I’m distanced further from the end product.

Strawberry Ice remains more than passable, however and it will have its fan base. Well suited to those happy just to be tasting something other than Tobacco.

And you will get a Strawberry taste each and every vape. Flavour consistency is excellent.

Pink Grapefruit

Pink GrapefruitElf Bar Says:

A tangy citrus vape. The flavour of pink grapefruit is present throughout, playing between sweet and sharp for a balanced vape.

I Say:

Oh yes! This was has plenty going for it – not least the natural, refreshing taste that’s noticeable from the very first exhale.

It averts so much of my focus that I tend to overlook the citric qualities tied into the mix. They’re good but the cooling aspect of the inhale gets caught up inside, ultimately causing a slight stinging sensation on the throat.

The one side of the vape that distracts me. Yet not enough to spoil the taste experience.

We even get the musky, woody notes commonly associated with a fresh Grapefruit.

Pucker! This one’s a true winner. I could easily vape this all year round.

P&B Cloudd

P&B ClouddElf Bar Says:

The flavour of light, sugary candy floss and adds an icy exhale for a blend that balances sweet and cool notes.

I Say:

Not really sure what to make from the name of this one. Thank heavens for flavour descriptions, eh?

Even then, what I get differs wildly from what we’re given above. There’s Blueberry in that there vape for sure! I know the taste anywhere.

To state sugary would also be an understatement. It has to be the most sweet laden vape out of all those sampled in the range. I’m not a fan – it’s simply overkill.

There’s a better way of translating candy floss into vape form but this disposable version takes the idea to extreme.

Behind the taste of Blueberry there’s a slight antiseptic quality to the exhale. It’s most noticeable towards the end and leaves a slight mark on the palate.

The most redeeming aspect of the vape experience actually comes from the cooling properties. They work quite nicely but the combination of events that tumble from the exhale are not really scintillating these particular taste buds.

Far too sweet to tolerate and the odd flavour blend just doesn’t float my boat this time.

Watermelon

WatermelonElf Bar Says:

Delivering the simple flavour of tropical watermelon. Sweet and juicy notes are present from the first puff to the last for an exotic fruit vape.

I Say:

Creates an incredibly strong aroma when ripped from the sealing baggie.

It’s another single fruit profile so there shouldn’t be too many surprises.

Yet I’m pleasantly surprised by the end product – enough to turn the corners of my mouth up. Watermelon delivers a powerhouse of a flavour kick. Nicey!

You know it’s going to be quite mouth watering with the build up of Ice and sweetness on the inhale.

Yes, that cooling effect does create a razor sharp taste and really does elevate the tasty Watermelon to another level. But that’s what it’s all about. How things should be, especially from a disposable.

A truly concentrated flavour with a fresh, succulent Watermelon spilling from the exhale.

It’s not particularly oily tasting either, another plus in my book.

Ice, sweetness and Watermelon with a tangy twist in the tail.

I’m on this one like a rash. Great job!

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry IceElf Bar Says:

A bold frozen berry vape. Juicy strawberry, zingy raspberry and rich cherry are cooled down by an arctic ice exhale.

I Say:

Three flavours blended into one disposable vape could be asking too much of this humble high resistance mesh coil. How well does it respond?

Not very well, unfortunately. Forget any chance of Strawberry here – it just doesn’t exist.

There is a ‘zing’ to the resulting flavour but it’s also drier than I was expecting. In fact the overall taste experience is really rather dull and pretty much non descript if I’m totally honest.

The Cherry is the fruit least likely to struggle but struggle is indeed the best word to describe the vape experience in general, unfortunately.

The sweetness is reserved to the dying embers of exhale and leaves its mark on the lips but there’s nothing much to associate it with.

Trace notes of Raspberry do occur throughout but again far too distant to be enjoyed.

So the cooling nature of the inhale is very much isolated against a back drop of subtle, faint flavour tones.

In all fairness, Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice bears all the hallmarks of a dud disposable. It does happen from time to time. Truth is, Elf Bar are much, much better with fruity flavours than this so there’s every chance.

As things stand, there’s still enough to base a score line on.

How Many Puffs Do I get From The Elf Bar 600 V2?

Probably the only area where I feel a bit let down if I’m honest.

On average, the battery held out for 7 hours. All of the flavours tested were MTL (Mouth To Lung) vaped. On the subject of MTL vaping, they work a treat. It’s a comfortable experience. Not too tight and not too loose.

If, like myself, you’re more of a RDL (Restrictive Direct Lung) vaper, the option is there too.

In this respect, Elf Bar are giving you the best of both vape worlds.

But I don’t think 600 puffs is a realistic figure. I’d put it nearer to 500 based on my own experiences.

If you’re a casual vaper the Elf Bar 600 V2 is still likely to last a full day but not much longer.

Elf Bar 600 V2 Final Review verdict

I’m now a firm believer in QUAC technology. How could I not be? It’s quite rare for a disposable to separate flavours like this. Each Elf Bar 600 V2 tested displayed such characteristics.

Yet they blended perfectly too and flavour consistency was superb throughout. The intensity remains right up to the very last vape so the increased area of the mesh is really making a difference.

The battery fails before flavour does and there’s never any indication of when it’s about to stop working.

So I’m convinced the upgraded mesh coil is delivering a constant output for the lifetime of the disposable.

If you’re transitioning across from cigs, the vapour production will feel familiar. You get the same output as a tailor made smoke. Enough to fill the throat but not the room.

To conclude, Elf Bar have just introduced us to a whole new experience when it comes to flavour intensity. That’s just the kind of experience a new vaper will be looking for.

More vapers, less smokers. I’d say Elf Bar are making a major contribution to those statistics.

Elfbar ELFLIQ e-liquid bottle check

It seems quite hard to believe but Elf Bar are now celebrating their fourth anniversary as disposable vape manufacturers.

They’re based in Shenzhen, China with products submitted and tested under the UK’s Tobacco and Related Products Regulations (TRPR) so that they can supply fully TPD compliant products.

The fundamental principle behind Elf Bar is in developing a healthier and more enjoyable vaping experience. So far they’ve demonstrated these principles with a number of easy to use and highly accessible vape products.

From their disposable range come the likes of the Elf Bar 600, 600 V2, T600 and CR500. Pod systems include the Elf Bar ELFA, Elfa Pro and Elfa Mate while the Elf Bar FB1000 has proven to be hugely popular among pod kit users.

Elf Bar disposable logoWithout getting into the politics of it all, disposable vapes have come under heavy criticism either due to underage vaping, environmental impact or expense when compared to humble starter kit.

Here in the UK, why buy a disposable when a 10ml bottle of juice lasts five times longer?

Seems like Elf Bar have been pondering that question themselves.

What Can We Expect From the Elf Bar ELFLIQ E-Liquid Range?

Elf bar Elfliq bottle pic 2

The ELFLIQ range of E-liquid is designed for use with low powered starter kits such as the Uwell Caliburn or Voopoo Vinci pod kit. With vape devices that are low powered (between 15-40W) using high resistance coils – 1.2ohm for example.

With a juice ratio of 50VG/50PG they’re designed for a discreet MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape.

Choose from either 10mg or 20mg nicotine salt strength to ensure a smooth inhale and faster nicotine absorption.

There are so many yummy Elf Bar flavours, all of which have been pulled from their disposable ranges. So if some of those were up your vape street, expect to find them here.

Massive thanks to Vape Club for sending the range over for the purposes of review. It’s very much appreciated.

I used the Uwell Sculptor pod kit and the Uwell Caliburn G2 pod kit to test the Elf Bar ELFLIQ E-liquid range. We’re looking for flavour quality, vapour production and above all to see if they’re capable of replicating the experiences of a disposable vape.

Apple Peach

Elfliq Apple PeachElfbar Says:

Apple Peach is a light fruity flavour that complements the crisp taste of green Apples on inhale with the sweet notes of juicy Peaches on exhale.

I Say:

The first one tested and the first to demonstrate how strong and intense these flavours actually are! Just as with disposables, the sweetness grabs a hold from the very first inhale.

A blast of cooling swiftly engulfs the tonsils, wrapping its icy fingers around the fruit on the way out. So it’s a fight between the two as usual and one I’ve never been the greatest fan of.

In terms of flavour the Peach rules the vape throughout. I have great difficulty in locating the Apple content and that’s primarily due to the excessive amount of sweetener included.

Admittedly both fruits are renowned for their sweetness but with Peach Apple it stifles any authenticity. There’s nothing natural tasting on offer and the entire vaping experience just tastes false in my opinion.

Blueberry Sour Raspberry

Elfliq Blueberry Sour RaspberryElfbar Says:

Blueberry Sour Raspberry pairs sweet, juicy-tasting Blueberries with the tangy notes of Raspberries for a bold and fruity all-day vape.

I Say:

This one is quite tasty and in part due to the ‘lingerability’ factor. It sits nicely on the palate post exhale. It contains all the hallmarks of a sweet, candy inspired vape. It’s also not as dry tasting as I was expecting so that’s a plus point.

There’s a fusion of two summer fruits here but I’m getting more of the Blueberry on the exhale. The Raspberry tends to disappear just after the inhale but leaves behind its sweeter elements.

The sourness to the flavour is ever present and can often be felt on the inside of the cheeks during the vape. I quite like that because it helps to nullify the sweeter properties of the vape.

Even the ice is tolerable with Blueberry Sour Raspberry and acts to invigorate and freshen the vape experience.

Cotton Candy Ice

Elfliq Cotton Candy IceElfbar Says:

Cotton Candy Ice gives a classic carnival flavour an icy twist. The sugary notes of Cotton Candy are cooled down on exhale by a burst of menthol.

I Say:

Candy floss with Ice, eh? I’m.. er not sure how that works for me..

What I can be sure of is the interpretation of Candy Floss. It’s been worked in very well and I find it very moreish. You’ll get the same texture and sweetness of the real thing as it dissolves on the taste buds.

As expected the Strawberry content is laced into the exhale and it’s the usual artificial, synthetic food flavour variety. No real surprises there but in line with this Merry-Go-Round associated treat.

So the texture, feel and familiarity of the real thing is all intact and may even evoke memories of those stomach churning fairground rides!

What I don’t associate is the strong icy kick that’s dominant throughout. To me, it’s an unnecessary distraction and quite top heavy. It doesn’t sting too much, rating as 6/10 on the sting-o-meter but still out of place in my opinion.

However, when all’s said and done our scores are based on the flavour description. To this end Cotton Candy Ice more than delivers on its promise.

Cream Tobacco

Elfliq Cream TobaccoElfbar Says:

Cream Tobacco is a rich blend of roasted tobacco with a lighter and slightly sweet cream note that brings out the depth of the nutty base.

I Say:

Tobacco vapes can be very hit or miss, I find. They’re usually a vitriolic, oily mess that bare no similarity to the smooth, sweet and aromatic taste of tobacco leaves.

We tend to get a mixture of both from ELFLIQ Tobacco Cream. There’s a helluva lot of sweetness drawn up on the inhale which instantly takes away the desired response.

That sweetness remains on the lips post vape too – not something I’m over keen on, to be honest. So what do we get from the bulk of the vape?

Something of an odd mixture.

There are certainly some nutty notes thrown in there and it has to be said they’re on the borderline of having a roasted appeal. But they clash with a rich cream texture. Think of a Cadburys Cream Egg and you’re getting the vape picture.

It does help to add interest but that oily quality is also present and lurks beneath each and every exhale.

Tobacco leaves are among this oddly complex arrangement but well hidden.

To summarise, ELF BAR have ruined the experience on this occasion by simply adding too much artificial sweetener. It could’ve been presented in a much better way.

..One of the strangest Tobacco vapes I’ve tried for quite some time.

Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava

Elfliq Kiwi Passion Fruit GuavaElfbar Says:

Kiwi Passionfruit Guava is a complex medley of fruity flavours. The Passion Fruit and Guava deliver an overall sweet note, sharpened by tangy Kiwi.

I Say:

We’re talking flavour intensity with this one. If ever you needed the ELFLIQ range to show its similarity to a disposable vape, look no further. This is a classic example.

It is literally bursting with flavour. Lots of sweetness is drawn up into the inhale and joins forces with the bitterness of the fruits on the way out.

I put that down to a mix of Grapefruit and Passion fruit. Yet the overriding taste is that of Mango in my opinion. It’s the common denominator throughout the exhale.

The taste buds are invaded by a multitude of factors and the vape experience is insane!

It’s sweet, concentrated and at times even a little wet on the aftertaste. This is one occasion where I welcome the cooling but even that struggles against the strength of the flavour.

So my taste buds beg to differ against the flavour description but this is still a tropical drink vape on steroids. Conclusive proof that ELF BAR have bottled disposable vapes!

Pink Grapefruit

Elfliq Pink GrapefruitELFLIQ Says:

Pink Grapefruit nic salt e-liquid is a distinctive fruit blend that authentically replicates the sharp and citrusy notes of Grapefruit throughout.

I Say:

Pink Grapefruit is one hell of a refreshing vape and is bursting with flavour. The citrus elements show up early doors during the inhale and combine with a hefty dose of bitterness prior to exhale.

The cooling also puts in an early appearance and is characterised by a stinging sensation in the throat. I’ll never be a fan of that because it distracts from the after taste.

I thought Kiwi Passionfruit Guava was a quality tropical vape but Pink Grapefruit steals it for me. Why? Because this version of Grapefruit is spot on. It’s fresh, vibrant and lively – never skipping a beat throughout the exhale.

There’s also a few tangy notes of Orange chucked into the mix. The sweetness of the vape still prevails but never ruins the succulent fruitiness this e-juice affords.

If you’re looking for a Summer fruit beverage vape you’d be hard pressed to find something with such flavour intensity. It’s lip smackingly good!

Cola

Elfliq ColaElfbar Says:

This distilled mix has concentrated the sweet taste of refreshing cola we all know and love for a vape that’s truly as traditional as it gets. A truly thirst-quenching flavour that blends up some Vanilla and Cinnamon, with hints of Citrus.

I Say:

Total flavour banger!

I even think there’s some fizz thrown in for good measure. Or it could be the delicate hint of Cinnamon mixed with Koolada creating the effect.

Either way, Cola works on just about every level. Almost every. It doesn’t manage to recreate the evergreen taste of the canned variety but the cooling elements certainly give it a lift.

Try to imagine the taste from a gummy Cola Sweet and you’ll be on the same wavelength as my taste buds.

cola bottles

It’s not too sweet or concentrated and the flavour snaps all the way through exhale.

This is a simple vape that anyone can enjoy. Any time of the year.

Cherry

Elfliq CherryElfbar Says:

An old-fashioned flavour that’s been brought right up to the present! It’s a refreshing taste that perfectly blends sweet and sour notes for a juicy balance that can be vaped all day long.

I Say:

First you get the sweet, then you get the sour. And plenty of it.

It’s something I like about this version of a pretty straight forward single Cherry flavour. It certainly adds something to the mix.

Plus the Cherry itself isn’t too ‘in your face’ and neither is it particularly artificial tasting.

Elfliq Cherry leaves a pleasant taste in the mouth as an after taste too. Which means you’re likely to keep coming back for more.

The Koolada helps to freshen the vape but again (and from a personal stand point) it’s a bit on the strong side and does kind of take the edge off what is a fine tasting Cherry.

Still, there’s plenty of flavour creating throughout exhale and it more than replaces the need for a disposable equivalent, in my opinion.

Strawberry Ice Cream

Elfliq Strawberry Ice CreamElfbar Says:

A refreshingly silky fruit vape that’s the ultimate sweet treat for those summer days! The delicious taste of Strawberry mixes with smooth Ice Cream for a flavour profile that can be vaped to no end!

I Say:

The velvety smooth texture of the exhale works an absolute delight with Strawberry Ice Cream. That’s due to the creaminess of the taste. It’s quite simply fantastic!

Think Angel Delight dessert and it gives you an idea of what I’m experiencing. Or a Strawberry Ambrosia cream. It really is that pleasant a vape.

The flavour of the Strawberry is totally unlike that of, say Strawberry Ice. Yet it retains all of the pleasant sweetness.

It’s light, fluffy and to a degree subdued on the exhale but vapes consistently throughout.

The only real downside is the overuse of Koolada. Again, I find it stings the throat instead of soothing in the way you’d expect from a real Ice Cream.

So that does act as a bit of a distraction, I guess.

Overall and in terms of flavour quality, Strawberry Ice Cream is a stonkingly good vape.

Mango

Elfliq MangoElfbar Says:

A truly tropical blend of juicy Mangoes that will be sure to please all those looking for a sweetly refreshing flavour that’s effortless to vape to no end. The ideal choice that’ll take you back to those hot summer days, leaving you feeling refreshed! Vacation vibes that you won’t want to miss!

I Say:

Mango all the way!

If ever there was a flavour in direct competition with a disposable vape, this has to be it.

It has the same level of concentration, punch and vibrancy.

It’s sweet and with just the same level of tartness you’d expect from the tropical fruit.

The sweeter properties become evident as soon as it’s vaped and the chilliness of the vape amplifies the longer Mango is inhaled.

The fruit responds very broadly on the way out and thankfully isn’t synthetic or artificial tasting.

So in this respect it has the edge on many disposable equivalents currently out there.

I’ve always thought Mango and Koolada to be a winning combination. One that refreshes the taste buds during those long, hot Summer months.

This is no exception and Elf bar have done a very fine job with Mango.

Strawberry Ice

Elfliq Strawberry IceElfbar Says:

A refreshingly fruity flavour that’s guaranteed to chill you out when things start to heat up! Some pleasantly sweet Strawberries are mixed up here with a little ice for a finish that’s sure to keep you cool.

I Say:

I thought the aroma of Strawberries from the nozzle bottle smelt very authentic. In the way you would notice from a freshly picked variety.

That’s not quite what I experience from the vape but it’s actually not that far off.

There’s a mixture of sweetness and cooling on the inhale which sets things up nicely for the flavour explosion on the way out.

And it’s pure Strawberries all the way, as you might expect. The taste holds up well throughout the duration of exhale and the fruit itself does have more of a natural blend.

In other words it’s not been exploited in the same way as a disposable vape. There’s much less of the artificial, chemical layering often associated from those throw away devices.

Yet the sweetness of the fruit remains. It remains in a very pleasant way and not too intense.

Put it this way. Strawberry Ice is what you’ll expect and that’s certainly what you’ll get.

Job well done, methinks.

Cherry Cola

Elfliq Cherry ColaElfbar Says:

Cherry Cola will bring you back to all the times when you’ve popped open one of the most classic sodas ever! The blend of Vanilla, Citrus and Cinnamon comes together to create a pleasantly fizzy cola taste which is then combined with all the tang you’d expect from an explosively sour Cherry.

I Say:

As with Cola, I get that fizziness from the exhale. It’s heavily influenced by a combination of sourness, Cinnamon and Koolada.

The aftertaste is very pleasant and the classic cola taste isn’t too syrupy either. The flavour doesn’t appear to be over concentrated which means I’m regularly returning to this one.

I do have an issue with the Cherry content, though. It’s very much pushed to the back during exhale. It’s there but to find it is to play the waiting game.

It tends to leave more of an impression on the palate post vape.

So I’m left feeling a bit disappointed because I was expecting more of a marriage between these two flavours.

In other words, don’t go into this one expecting the same experience as the canned, beverage variety.

Still – the chilling throat kick does keep the vape lively and refreshing.

Grape

Elfliq GrapeElfbar Says:

Grape has a decadently developed grape taste with a super juicy body. The sweet taste of Purple Grapes is present on the inhale, which is then rounded off by a lightly icy cool finish. It’s a classic fruit flavour that’s wonderful to vape in a warmer climate.

I Say:

It’s not for me, unfortunately. That’s no reflection on Elfbar of course. I just do not like the way Grape is portrayed in an E-liquid.

This one does nothing to change my mind. There is plenty of juicy quality and that’s obvious from the first seconds of exhaling.

It gives plenty of time for the sweet, tanginess to develop but my overall impression is that it’s just too intense.

There’s very little here to suggest anything other than an over exaggerated take on a fruit that for me, at least, carries little flavour in natural form either.

The newbie or disposable vaper that likes Grape is going to fully appreciate what’s on offer. Because the flavour hits hard and the Koolada matches that of a disposable.

So my score has to reflect how well this one emulates those throw away devices.

Peach Ice

Elfliq Peach IceElfbar Says:

Peach Ice is a fresh Peach blend for those who love a bubbly balanced vape. This mixture has all the juiciness you’d get from a ripe Peach, which is then rounded off by some cool Aniseed for a well-balanced vape that’s delicious from your first taste until your last.

I Say:

Flavour banger!

It’s sweet, ripe tasting and the Peach simply explodes upon exhale.

Ok, it’s still not the most authentic tasting Peach I’ve encountered but by way of competing with a disposable vape, Peach Ice gets the job done.

I wouldn’t say I notice any aniseed content mentioned in the flavour description. The cooling effect remains the same as the rest in the range. That’s to say, no additional flavouring as such.

The chilling cut to the throat and tonsils hits hard, so as long as you appreciate it, Peach Ice is going to deliver the goods.

This Peach isn’t too intense or abrasive in the way I’ve found some to be. It creates quite a smooth and tasty exhale with just enough sweetness to keep the interest levels piqued.

So another simple, single flavour profile and one that hits the spot as good as, if not better than, the current crop of disposable alternatives.

Strawberry Kiwi

Elfliq Strawberry KiwiElfbar Says:

Strawberry Kiwi is a sweet blend of juicy Strawberries and refreshing Kiwi. On the first inhale you’ll get some tangy citrus notes of the zesty Kiwi and the pleasantly delicate taste of luscious Strawberries.

I Say:

A finely crafted E-liquid.

I pick up the sweet and tangy nature of the vape on the inhale, coupled with a strong and forceful Koolada.

The mixture of two fruits on the exhale is simply delightful! Elfbar have done an excellent job of combining the two.

Out of the two it’s the Kiwi that’s more dominant, in my opinion. That’s because it makes its presence known from the start.

It transforms the vape into a tropical treat with the Strawberries puncturing through later on. A sweet, tangy, flavoursome and cooling vape from start to finish.

There’s nothing over concentrated about the blending and both fruits work in complete tandem with one another.

I would suggest this is the very same Strawberry concentrate as found in Strawberry Ice. That’s no bad thing either – I really dig this version!

UPDATED Flavours October 2023

It is Michelle here and I have reviewed 6 new flavours added to the range – you can see what I think of them below!

I will be using my OXVA Xlim Pro with the V2 0.8ohm pods. Each flavour gets a new pod!

Blackcurrant Aniseed

elfliq blackcurrant aniseedElfbar Says:

“Blackcurrant Aniseed nic salt e-liquid by Elfliq features a bold spiced fruit blend. The juicy, sweet taste of Blackcurrant combined with the punchy flavour of Aniseed.”

I Say:

Think of a Blackcurrant cough sweet – for those of us of a certain age – “Tunes” springs to mind.

This is exactly the same!

The Aniseed seems to take on more of a menthol Eucalyptus vibe here and it really delivers.

You get a lovely cooling blast which again ignites the similarities to a throat sweet. Imagine having a cold glass of water after eating one and this is exactly the experience you get with this flavour.

I really love it, the blending is spot on, the cooling enhances the flavour and there is an abundance of mentholy Blackcurrant goodness!

Excellent work Elfliq!!

Pineapple Mango Orange

elfliq pine mango orangeElfbar Says:

“Pineapple Mango Orange nic salt e-liquid by Elfliq delivers a combination of tropical and citrus flavours. Sweet Pineapple, juicy Mango and tangy Orange fuse throughout each puff.”

I Say:

Mango and Pineapple usually do not agree with me when it comes to vapes – but I am partial to a bit of Orange. Which is super rare – you don’t see many Orange e-liquids around do you?

The blending of this is epic, no flavour overpowers the others, yet you can still taste each flavour and their input into the final ensemble.

The Mango kicks in first, then it magically transforms into Pineapple and the Orange wakes up after you have exhaled!

Although not a flavour I like, I cannot fault the blending and attention to detail here. This could have ended up as some messy muddle of indiscernible fruits, instead you have the individual elements all sharing the limelight.

Another 10/10 here for me!

Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice

elfliq straw rasp cherry iceElfbar Says:

“Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice nic salt e-liquid by Elfliq delivers a sweet and frosty vape. Juicy Strawberry, tangy Raspberry and rich Cherry are cooled down by arctic ice notes.”

I Say:

This is the one I have been looking forward to the most – all of those flavours are ones I enjoy.

You can easily pick out each of the fruits yet they still harmonise together to produce a lovely fruity vape.

There is a lot of cooling here but it does give the feeling of a refreshing summer drink, rather than just a pile of ice for no reason.

This is extremely refreshing and the level of flavour packed in is just amazing.

Sour Apple

elfliq sour appleElfbar Says:

“Sour Apple nic salt e-liquid by Elfliq is a straightforward fruit vape. The juicy taste of crisp, tangy green Apple is present throughout.”

I Say:

Wow that is cold! Brrrr!

This is just like rinsing a Green Apple under ice cold water and then taking the first refreshing bite.

The fruit output is epic, absolutely flipping delicious.

Even only being 10mg nic salt strength, this really packs a punch! You get the cold blast which you feel around your whole mouth and then you exhale the sweet Apple.

I would say this is not as sour as I expected, it has the tang you would expect but also a scrumptious sweetness to back it up.

This is a bit of me – no doubt! Amazing!

Rhubarb Snoow

elfliq rhubarb snoowElfbar Says:

“Rhubarb Snoow nic salt e-liquid by Elfliq is a rich dessert vape with a fruity twist. Sweet notes of rich Vanilla Custard are contrasted with the tangy taste of Rhubarb.”

I Say:

Initially it is all Rhubarb. It is only after the exhale that you feel like you have eaten some Custard!

It is quite a tangy Rhubarb but still sweet enough to stop you pulling a face.

Again the effort made to blend these two flavours is epic.

I am reminded of the Rhubarb and Custard sweets I used to love as a child. If you were a fan of those, you will love Rhubarb Snoow.

rhubarb custard sweets

If you wanted a sour Rhubarb you might be a bit disappointed.

Pina Colada

elfliq pina coladaElfbar Says:

“Pina Colada nic salt e-liquid by Elfliq is a tropical cocktail-inspired blend. The flavour of juicy Pineapple is rounded out by notes of creamy Coconut.”

I Say:

Yeah – I knew I wouldn’t like this – I am a fussy bugger and Coconut – does my nut in.

It is 100% on point with the description and Coconut and Pineapple fans will be happy.

There is also quite a cooling hit, but like with the rest of their flavours it actually accentuates rather than overpowers.

Not for me – but I am sure it will have lots of fans!

Final Review Verdict

I guess the burning question is how close do these E-liquids replicate the experience of a disposable vape?

It’s frighteningly close when vaped from low power devices such as the ones I used!

I’m a bit old school. I prefer my vapes to have a lot less artificial sweetener. As much as I crave flavour the ELFLIQ range (unsurprisingly) doesn’t deliver anything natural or authentic tasting.

Of course that’s for good reason. It achieves its objectives. To offer the experience of a disposable vape while saving money, cutting back on landfill waste and allowing us to use all our favourite starter kits in the process.

So yeah – ELFLIQ have bottled the disposable vape market.

Updated Flavours – October 2023

Michelle here again, I am absolutely loving the flavour intensity of the 6 flavours I tried.

It is definitely an excellent recreation of a disposable vape experience.

Simply grab a good quality pod kit such as the OXVA Xlim, Uwell Caliburn or Voopoo Argus with the Elfliq and you will be saving a fortune by replacing those expensive and wasteful disposable vapes!

Today I’m testing out the new Elfbar ELFA Pro pod kit.

Elfbar Elfa Pro and flavoursYou may recall I took a look at the original version of this one with the Elf Bar ELFA Prefilled Pod Kit Review.

To all intents and purpose it resembles a disposable vape. It has the same lightweight and portable form factor but that’s literally only half of the vape story.

Elfbar Elfa Pro web banner

It uses removable pods and a sustainable, rechargeable battery section making it more pocket friendly while reducing impact on the environment.

elfa pro features

The Elfbar ELFA Pro follows on from its predecessor. Naturally as an upgrade it has a trick or two up its sleeve. So let’s see what’s changed.

What Can We Expect From the Elfbar ELFA Pro Pod Kit?

Ok, there’s some good news straight out the gate…

Backwards Compatible

The Elfbar ELFA Pro uses the same battery section as the original. Good news because if you already have the ELFA, then the new upgraded pods can be used with it.

Instant money saver, right there!

Elfbar Elfa Pro pod kitThe battery relies on Type C charging and is rated to a capacity of 500mAh.

That should be more than enough for the pods, holding a maximum of 2ml E-liquid with 20mg (2%) salt nicotine already included.

ECS Technology

Speaking of the prefilled pods, that’s where you can expect to find the changes.
They now use ECS tech. This basically stands for “E-liquid Coil Separation”.

Elfbar have already used this tech and details surrounding QUAC can be found in our Elfbar MATE 500 Device review. So you might wanna check that one out at some point, too.

elfa pro quaq mesh

As the name suggests, the pods arrive with the E-liquid isolated from the mesh coil. To fill the pod you simply need to push up on the pod base.

This forces E-liquid into the pod chamber, saturating both coil and cotton in the process.

Elfbar Elfa Pro out of the box image
Follow the instructions on the sticker and you can’t go wrong

This should reduce the likelihood of a burnt taste while ensuring the flavour experience is as fresh as it can be straight out of the box.

If there was ever any design flaw with the original ELFA it was with the blacked out pod windows. That’s been addressed with the upgrade. Remaining E-liquid levels can now be viewed.

Elfbar Elfa pro prefilled podNice one, Elfbar.

When Pod Meets Battery

So you may be wondering how the pods attach to the ELFA Pro? Quite simple…

By two magnets on the base of the pods. They also act as connecting points for both coil and battery contacts.

Deep inside the battery we can see (by way of a small hole) how air is drawn up to feed the mesh coil.

Inside the ELFA Pro battery section

As you can see from the above picture, airflow is highly restricted which should ensure a decent MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape.

Colour Schemes and Flavours

It looks like the colour schemes of the ELFA Pro have been expanded over the original.

You can now pick from Black, Navy Blue, Aurora Purple and Blue and Twilight Blue, Brown, Green and Pink.

A pod is included with each kit and whatever flavour you get seems to be dependent on the chosen colour scheme.

When it comes to flavours there’s more than enough to choose from ranging from fruits, drinks and sweet based profiles. I think there’s over 30 currently on offer.

You purchase the pre-filled pods in twin blister packs. Yet another way of saving money over traditional disposable vapes.

elfa pro specs

Cool. Let’s see how well the pods hold up against the flavours of a disposable vape. And if a single charge of the battery is worthy of 600 puffs.

Massive shout out to Vapeclub for sending these over for the purposes of an honest, unbiased review. It’s very much appreciated.

Tropical Fruit

Tropical FruitElfbar Says:

Tropical Fruit is a fusion of exotic flavours. Sweet, juicy and tangy notes come through in each puff.

I Say:

This one’s packed with flavour and has all the hallmarks of a fresh, fruity beverage.

The inhale produces a nice cooling effect on the throat, not so strong as to overwhelm. Actually helping to boost the overall taste in my opinion.

It’s bolstered by a smattering of sweetness which is evident as soon as you inhale, leaving a nice ‘wetness’ on the taste buds after the vape.

Tropical Fruit is really a combination of exotic fruits where I feel Pineapple is the stand out flavour. It’s laced with complementary back notes of Mango and Grapefruit.

In some ways I’m reminded of a Fruit Salad sweet but there does seem to be an element of soda running through on the exhale. But nothing to place it in the gummy department.

So it’s kind of like a hybrid sweet / beverage style profile.

The overall blend is consistently tasty with an exhale that’s actually quite rich and tangy. You’ll notice those attributes as an after taste too.

Tropical Fruit has more than enough going on to keep me occupied.

It’s a quality vape that’s appropriate for any season of the year, in all honesty.

Lemon Mint

Lemon MintElfbar Says:

Lemon Mint is a cool citrus blend. The flavour of juicy, sharp Lemon is layered with frosty, sweet and slightly floral Mint.

I Say:

Another great blending of flavour and I’m beginning to think that’s why the ECS pods do more than just attempt to replicate the experiences of a disposable vape.

The ratio of Lemon, Mint, sweetness and cooling agent is absolutely bang on.

You get each in equal measures which isn’t often the case with its disposable rival.

OK, so that sweetness is the underlying theme in Lemon Mint but it’s tinged with a zingy freshness from the Lemon that reacts perfectly with the coolness of the vape.

Combined with a fresh Mint that feels sandwiched in between, we get a rather distinct, original blending of flavour.

The overall taste is actually lifted by the inclusion of Mint and is consistent from opening inhale to closing exhale.

I find Lemon Mint to be incredibly moreish with an instantly enjoyable taste.

A case of multi blending at its best. Elfbar have created another great flavour to add to the range, methinks.

Pear

PearElfbar Says:

Pear is a simple, sweet flavour. Ripe, soft and juicy notes come through in every puff, for a faithful recreation of this orchard fruit.

I Say:

A very strong flavour but still not as intense as your average disposable vape.

I got more than enough sweetness on the inhale combined with a nice cool blast to the back of the throat. The great thing is, it doesn’t rip the throat either so not an unnecessary distraction to the flavour.

As for that flavour? It’s Pear that’s for certain and to be honest not a bad replication of the juicy fruit.

I’d say it falls somewhere in between being on the candy sweet side but also with some very natural tasting characteristics.

The flavour holds up very well too throughout exhale and leaves a pool of sweetness at the end which is quite appealing.

This could easily have been flavour intensive but Elfbar have reined things in a bit to ensure a nice refreshing fruity vape at all times.

Pineapple Lemon Soda

Pineapple Lemon SodaElfbar Says:

Pineapple Lemon Soda combines the flavour of sweet, juicy Pineapple with tangy Lemon. On the exhale, you’ll taste a fizzy note of soda.

I Say:

There’s a strong aroma of Pineapple when tearing this one out of the blister pack so I was expecting the inevitable.

Imagine my surprise when I exhaled what is quite possibly one of the best flavour blends I’ve experienced for quite a while.

Yes, it’s just as much about the zingy Lemon as it is Pineapple. I was curious as to how these two flavours would react to each other but, by Jove! Elfbar have pulled it off rather superbly!

OK, the taste does always bend towards a candy inspired flavour and at times I am almost reminded of a Lemsip flu tonic, but it’s all about that decent blending, in my opinion.

You never get one fruit without the other and they overlap each other in the best possible way.

To add to the enjoyment, sweetness levels run somewhere down the centre, never intensifying the flavour. As I’ve stated – quality blending.

Add a sensible layering of Ice and you’ve got yourself a mouth-watering and taste bud stimulating vape.

Top vape drawer stuff is Pineapple Lemon Soda.

Strawberry Ice Cream

Strawberry Ice CreamElfbar Says:

Strawberry Ice Cream delivers the authentic taste of a frozen dessert, featuring juicy Strawberry combined with rich Vanilla and a cool ice exhale.

I Say:

Ooh! Strawberries and Cream. That’s what I’m reminded of when opening the blister pack and having a whiff. A very pleasant aroma.

That’s pretty much what I get on the exhale too. OK, the Strawberry content isn’t exactly as natural tasting as I’d like but it is shrouded to a degree by the creamier aspects.

You really have to think of a Strawberry thick shake – like Yazoo or Shmoo. That should give you some idea of what to expect.

I honestly don’t pick out any Vanilla but there’s still a richness to the exhale and the milky notes are dispersed in abundance, that’s for sure.

The sweeter aspects of the vape are well handled too. It tends to build, not so noticeable on the inhale but around mid-point on the way out. Leaving its mark on the taste buds post vape.

I like it when sweetener is applied this way – it gives the overall flavour experience an added dimension while still always complementing the main ingredients.

The cooling agent can be a bit distracting, if I’m honest. Ice Cream simply doesn’t have this much of a lasting effect on the ‘ole tonsils.

Strawberry Ice Cream isn’t quite as mouth-watering as some of the others in the bunch but if you’ve a sweet tooth and enjoy a nice Strawberry milkshake why not dive in?

Wild Orange

Wild OrangeElfbar Says:

Wild Orange delivers a punchy citrus flavour with the sweet, tangy and citrus notes of Orange.

I Say:

Quite a refreshing Orange taste and relatively strong too.

It does feel like Elfbar have restrained the flavour intensity again. Don’t get me wrong – that’s no bad thing and once again separates the ELFA Pro from the excessive sweetness of a disposable vape.

So the inhale feels very smooth and is accompanied by a nice soothing chill to line the throat. Although it feels as though lots of sweetness is being pulled in, it actually seems to dispense more effectively on the exhale.

It grooves with the citric nature of the fruit as opposed to overwhelming the taste experience.

As for the taste – As I say, it’s unmistakably Orange but not quite as Mother Nature intended. That’s to say more like an Orange Cordial or Soda as opposed to freshly squeezed.

Overall another mouth-watering experience and where a single fruit is able to do its thing.

And it does its thing very consistently with each and every vape.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

I managed six hours use before the battery needed a recharge. It’s important to note that there was still E-liquid left in the 2ml pod. For this reason I didn’t notice any flavour degradation.

So taking things into consideration I would have to conclude (under my own vaping patterns) that a single charge is capable of up to 450 puffs and that the individual pods themselves are indeed capable of 600 puffs.

The recharging process itself was a little disappointing. It took 90 minutes to complete.

You’re left with a single solid White ring around the base of the battery for the entire duration of charge. There’s no way of gauging charge status, in other words.

Once the cycle is complete the LED simply switches off.

Oh – in case you were wondering. It is possible to vape while charging.

Final Review Verdict

In terms of the device there were always going to be pros and cons.

Let’s get Negative Neil out the way first!

It did annoy me that there wasn’t a charging cable included with the device.

Yes, I know a flavour pod is included but not everyone has a type C USB charging cable. Especially those brand new to the vape scene.

The LED responds when removing the pod but not when attaching. I found that a bit odd, since there’s a knack with popping them in. If they don’t click into place, you can’t use them properly.

A reassuring flash of the LED would have made more sense.

You’re also stuck with that solid White LED at all stages of the charging cycle. So you only ever know when it’s good to go once the LED switches off.

Onto the positives and there’s plenty of them.

The MTL vape is excellent. Not too tight and not so loose as to warrant a restrictive lung hit. Vapour production is great too given the high resistance of the mesh coil.

Pod swapping. Or should I say flavour swapping. Tired of Orange? Swap it for Apple. Takes a few seconds.

Being sealed, these pods don’t leak so there’s no worry on that score.

The ability to view remaining E-liquid levels. Full marks to Elfbar for addressing that one!

The ELFA Pro pod kit looks very much like a disposable vape. Therefore it follows those devices in being both lightweight and pocket friendly.

Above all I feel the ELFA Pro pod kit offers a high degree of versatility. The flavour is better than a disposable vape and it also works out to be a more cost effective alternative to boot.

A highly recommended little pod kit.

Today I’m taking a look at another product that’s a disposable but not a disposable. Confused? Don’t be. It’s the Elfbar Mate 500 device and we’ll get right into it.

Elfbar Mate 500 and pods main imageElfbar need very little introduction when it comes to disposable vapes. They’ve just released an upgrade to their popular Elfbar 600 with the aptly named Elfbar 600 V2.

But there’s no denying disposable vapes have an impact on the environment. Once disposed of there’s a whole lotta recycling to be done and this is can only be effectively dealt with by using dedicated waste collection points.

So Elfbar came up with a solution of sorts with their ELFA and ELFA PRO pod kits.

Elf Bar disposable logoThey use a dedicated rechargeable section and replaceable pre-filled pods to reduce battery and plastic waste.

You still got all the benefits with taste and flavour of a disposable while reducing impact on the environment. Can’t be bad.

Now we’ve got the Elfbar Mate 500 device and P1 pods taking the concept one step further.

Two reviews in one. Bonus! Let’s take a look.

What Can We Expect From the Elfbar Mate 500 Device?

I like to think of the Elfbar Mate 500 as a link between disposable vapes and basic starter pod kits.

It’s basically an independent battery section designed for use with the Elfbar P1 disposable pods. You keep the battery section and dispose of the pre-filled pods when done.

Elfbar Mate 500 hand check image

With the pods attached it certainly takes on the appearance of a disposable vape.

Made of Aircraft Grade Aluminium and weighing a mere 21 grams, it’s as lightweight, portable and pocket friendly as any disposable vape too.

Elfbar Mate 500 deviceAs the name suggests, it utilises a rechargeable 500mAh integrated battery reliant on type C USB charging.

elfbar mate 500 charging

The charging port can be found on the base of the device. We can expect up to 600 puffs from a single charge – the equivalent of one prefilled pod.

USB port on Elfbar Mate 500 deviceA single LED indicator takes care of business when auto drawing and to notify of any safety issues.

If the device does suspect a safety issue one of the following will occur:

  • Low Battery – the LED will cease to function
  • Short circuit/over current protection – LED remains lit for two seconds
  • Over vaping time (5sec)/low voltage protection – LED flashes twice

Moving on – Further up the Mate 500 device, small airflow slots on either side should ensure a decent MTL (Mouth To Lung) vape.

Elfbar Mate 500 device airflow structureThe pods attach to the battery by way of magnetic contacts and recess enough into the Mate 500 device to prevent them from detaching if dropped from standing height.

Good stuff.

Inside the battery section Elfbar Mate 500 deviceYou can pick up the Elfbar Mate 500 device in an array of different colours. Choose from Black, Grey, Black Grey, Aurora Green, Blue, Purple, Pink and yellow.

elfbar mate 500 colours

As you can see, I’ve got the Aurora Purple. Bet the Black Grey combo looks smart too.

Of course to get everything up and running we need those all important P1 Pods.

What Can We Expect From the P1 Disposable Pods?

They arrive in blister packs of two, making them more cost effective than standard disposable vapes.

But I must say I had a pig of a time trying to get into them. Could be my sausage fingers, could be the extra layer of cellophane around them.

Or it could be that they’re just packaged too damn tightly! lol

It’s me! I have to have a moan about something, right? 😉

Elfbar P1 prefilled podsMade from the industry standard PCTG, the P1 pods include a sealed dual configuration 1.2ohm coil.

Expect a boost in flavour and a leak free experience should be assured.

Elfbar P1 pod imageThere’s a multitude of flavour pods to pick from ranging from fruit, drinks and tobacco based profiles.

Each one holds 2ml of E-liquid with a salt nicotine strength of 20mg. So if you’re used to using disposable vapes, you’ll feel very much at home here.

Elfbar have employed ECS coil technology with the P1 pods. This stands for E-liquid Coil Separation.

It’s the first time they’ve used this tech but I have seen it done before with other manufacturers, whether pushing or twisting.

E-liquid remains separated from the coil until the Red area on the base of the pod is pushed in. It’s a way of ensuring integrity and freshness and to maximise flavour.

Using the Elfbar P1 prefilled pod
Remember to push the exposed Red section up into the pod!

So keep in mind you can’t just drop the pods into the battery section and vape immediately. Elfbar suggest a minimum of 3 seconds but I would personally give it a least a few minutes.

Just to make certain E-liquid has fully soaked into the cotton and to prevent unnecessary dry hitting.

Trust me – I’m a vaper! lol

In fact, you know what? Let’s look at the entire process right now, shall we?

Quick Start Guide

  • With the Elfbar Mate 500 device at hand remove one of the pre-filled pods from the blister pack
  • Remove the top and bottom silicone stoppers from the pre-filled P1 pod
  • Push the exposed Red area up and into the P1 pod
  • Let E-liquid soak into the cotton for at least 2 minutes
  • Drop the P1 pod into the battery section

Note: The pods only fit one way. Don’t attempt to force them into place.

How To Charge the Elfbar Mate 500 Device

The charging rate is specified as 1A.

  • Using the supplied type C USB charging cable, connect the small end into the USB port on the base of the device
  • Charging the Elfbar Mate 500 deviceConnect the larger end of the cable into a suitable USB outlet

It will take exactly one hour to recharge the device. One word of note. The White LED remains lit at all times during the charge cycle and flashes twice once complete. When this happens the LED switches off.

The instruction manual differs by stating the LED flashes while charging. So I’m not sure if the review sample I have has a functionality issue.

Right!

I think it’s time we tested both the Mate 500 device and prefilled pods.

Massive shout out to Vape Club for sending the kit over for the purposes of review. It’s very much appreciated so thank you.

Kiwi Cucumber

Kiwi CucumberElfbar Says:

Kiwi Cucumber features a juicy fusion that plays between sweet and sharp notes. The flavour of exotic Kiwi is mellowed out by the crisp taste of Cucumber.

I Say:

This is an odd one.

It tastes more of a mixture between Grape, Blueberry and a touch of Raspberry. But becomes more floral tasting mid-way through the exhale.

And it narrowly avoids the dreaded Blueberry Ammonia aroma on the flavour palate. Narrowly!

So just when I think I’m going to start pulling a face – I don’t. lol

But I really can’t associate this flavour with Cucumber. Not that it’s ever been an ‘in your face’ taste to begin with and really rather subtle when used effectively.

It’s still a sweet and tangy vape and the mixture of fruits must be attributed to the Kiwi.

Yeah, it’s certainly consistent enough and dare I say quite original for a disposable pod. Elfbar have definitely created a floral/fruity fusion but to pinpoint exact flavour? That’s quite difficult.

There’s plenty of Koolada thrown in and does enough to keep things bright and lively.

To be honest, it’s never going to appear in my personal top 10 flavours but if you’re after something a bit unique give Kiwi Cucumber a toot or two.

Sakura Mint

Sakura MintElfbar Says:

Sakura Mint is a floral, frosty blend. The light flavour of Cherry Blossom is complemented by a sweet, cool mint finish.

I Say:

Flavour intensity or wot!

There’s just the merest hint of Cherry trickling very much below a tidal wave of Minty Menthol in Sakura Mint.

For some reason I’m reminded of flavour from yesteryear. Way back to when I first started vaping on humble starter pens.

It has the same intense, throat chilling inhale and the Mint, more akin to Peppermint is very familiar tasting. Quite a clinical taste, only softened by the inclusion of a very light, fragrant Cherry.

But there’s enough of the fruit to put a completely different spin on this Menthol vape.

I though Lemon and Lime was as intense as it got but this one takes the prize!

I’m not even sure how Elfbar managed to mix Cherry with so much Menthol but they’ve definitely succeeded and I for one think it works a treat.

A completely different after taste is generated, only adding to the magic. Flavour blending at its absolute finest.

Hats off to that!

Mango Peach Watermelon

Mango Peach WatermelonElfbar Says:

Mango Peach Watermelon is a fruity fusion that complements the juicy taste of ripe Mango with light notes of Peach and the sweetness of Watermelon.

I Say:

Ah yes! Very nice indeed.

There’s an instant richness and depth to the flavour. I dig it from the very first exhale.

Such is the way all three fruits have been combined that it almost tastes like an entirely unique experience all together.

I have to take my hat off to Elfbar for the fusion of Mango and Peach alone. It’s very succulent and mouth-watering at the same time.

There’s a slight muskiness generated by the Peach yet still manages to retain its juicier qualities. The Mango is spot on too! None of the usual “Cats’ Pee” aroma is on show, quite possibly neutralised by the Watermelon.

Yes, the sweetness of the vape may very well be coming from the Watermelon as it takes more of a back seat in terms of flavour output.

I’ve had this flavour combo before (albeit in traditional disposable form) and nothing comes close to replicating it the way this one does.

It’s packed full of fruity goodness from start to finish, a very consistent taste at all times and the icy cold blast on the inhale sets everything up very nicely.

How well do you think it scores? Go on. Take a wild guess!

Lemon & Lime

Lemon LimeElfbar Says:

Lemon & Lime features an intense citrus taste. Bold, tangy Lemon combines with juicy Lime for a zingy fruit blend.

I Say:

This one hits the spot!

It’s a perfect blend of Lemon and Lime and I’m instantly reminded of an ice cold tropical fruit beverage.

It all begins with that chilling inhale. A sharpness and cutting edge from the citrus notes are also present on the way in, setting the scene for the flavour explosion that follows.

The Lemon remains sharp and very tasty while the Lime elevates flavour properties further.

Yes, it’s never going to be the smoothest of vapes because of the zest of the vape and Koolada has a tendency to amplify the cutting edge of the exhale.

I’m very much reminded of a Lemon and Lime cordial / squash. There’s an equal measure of sweetness to tantalise the ‘ole taste buds, working in perfect unison with the acidity of the vape.

It’s a ‘pick me up’ vape to all intents and certainly one to waken the senses first thing in the morning!

As far as I’m concerned it contains excellent flavour blending and equally intense as any disposable vape on the market.

USA Mix

USA MixElfbar Says:

USA Mix is an earthy, smoky flavour. A robust, rich tobacco taste is present in every puff.

I Say:

Works for me! And I haven’t smoked for a decade..

Strong earthy tones are definitely created but there’s also an aromatic undertone or two with USA Mix.

And there’s just the right balance of sweetness from the Tobacco leaf. That helps to stop the vaping experience from becoming too dry on the exhale.

The inhale is velvety smooth and carries across to the bulk of the vape with those aromatic notes settling in the flavour palate post exhale.

A very pleasant experience. Don’t expect the experience of any tailor made variety, though. The taste is more in keeping with an exotic loose fill Tobacco with a touch of Menthol thrown in for good measure.

I could’ve done without the Menthol but its horses for courses.

Can you still get those in jars? Probably not but some of you may still recall what I’m referring to.

Anyway, USA Mix represents more careful flavour blending and for right or wrong, certainly takes me back to the days when I experimented with Tobacco blends in roll ups.

.. Not that I have any intention of returning lol. An ideal jumping on point for any hardened smoker, though.

Battery Performance and Number of Puffs

I got eight hours of vaping from a single charge.

Here’s the rub.

The Mate 500 was still working when the pods ran dry. Well – almost dry.

There was very little E-liquid left through the clear viewing windows and volume had fallen below the cotton wicking levels, causing the introduction of dry hits.

Something to keep in mind. My suggestion would still be to recharge the device with every pod replacement.

That aside then, it became blatantly obvious that the device is more than capable of 600 puffs. The Elfbar Mate 500 performs admirably and it always felt like a constant power was being fed to the pods.

A solid performance.

Final Review Verdict

You can’t really go wrong with using the P1 pods. Instructions are included and a sticker is even placed on the rear of the blister pack. Full kudos to Elfbar for doubling down on their efforts to avoid misuse.

I mentioned at the top how Elfbar have taken the recycling concept one step further.

They’ve done this by introducing a refillable pod for use with the Mate 500 device.

They come in blister packs of three, each one capable of holding 2ml of E-liquid. The same ECS tech and dual coil configuration is used.

They’re ideal for use with the Elfbar Elfliq 10ml E-liquid range of Elfbar flavours since they give a similar experience to the intense flavour of a disposable vape.

So this means even less waste material and even better value for money. Can’t be bad!

I only really have one design quibble with the Elfbar Mate 500 device. The LED doesn’t respond to when the pod is attached. Nothing major. It’s just a feature present in the majority of devices of this ilk.

But there’s no doubt in my mind.

The P1 pods are more than capable of emulating the experience of a disposable vape. The flavours are intense, concentrated and very consistent. All the attributes you’d expect from a disposable.

So is vapour production, perfectly mimicking the volume and density of a tailor made cigarette.

The MTL vape is good but maybe could’ve been a tad tighter. It was easy enough to achieve restrictive direct lung vapes, put it that way but auto draw was still hyper sensitive regardless of vaping habits.

To summarize I’m extremely impressed.

The Elfbar Mate 500 and P1 pods offer a damn fine alternative to disposables. Less waste and better value for money.

I’m all for that.
