One of the biggest brand names in the industry, Eleaf have been around for almost 15 years now, developing innovative technologies and products to meet the needs of the fast-paced vaping market.

The iStick from Eleaf took the vaping world by storm when it was released 10 years ago, quickly becoming one of the biggest selling devices at the time and it was one of the most talked about in vaping forums at the time.

When it came to sub ohm tanks, Eleaf also scored a big hit with the Melo tank ‘back in the day’, boasting performance that pretty much blew all other sub ohm tanks out of the water!

Eleaf’s iStick X80 is the latest version carrying the famous iStick name, and the latest version of the Melo tank is included with the Melo X, so let’s see if this kit has the potential to become as popular as its predecessors!

Also, Eleaf are releasing an even more powerful version in the iStick X100- we shall also cover that off in this review!

What Can We Expect From The Eleaf iStick X80 Kit?

As mentioned above, both the iStick and Melo names are very well known amongst seasoned vapers, and Eleaf have combined the two in this kit with the iStick X80 device and the Melo X tank…

Starting off with the iStick X80, Eleaf have designed an ergonomic and solidly built device that comes in a range of five different colours, which feature a premium ice-flower finish.

A vibrant 1.05″ TFT colour screen presents all the information you need at a glance, and has four different customisable UI themes so that you can personalise your device around your personality.

Performance is driven by the intelligent Avatar Chip 2.0, which delivers smart wattage recommendation, a memory function and upgradeable firmware!

There are two different output modes available, with power mode allowing you to adjust power from 5-80W and RTA mode designed with rebuilable atomisers in mind, allowing you to adjust the output voltage from 0.5-9V.

An innovative press-twist button gives you total control over your iStick X80 device, with the multi-functional button combining press and twist actions to make operating your iStick X80 smooth and intuitive.

A 3200mAh battery keeps your vaping sessions powered up, and 5V/2A Type-C fast charging gets your battery charged back up in no time!

The Melo X tank is also part of the iStick X80 Kit, with this being an easy to use, leak-free sub ohm tank.

It is compatible with Eleaf’s newest EC-D dual mesh coils, which have received an upgrade over the original EC coils, providing a warmer vape, improved flavour and extended performance and lifespan.

The sliding top-fill design makes it easy to refill on the move, and the 510 drip tip connector means you can switch your drip tip out easily!

Everything in the presentation box comes neatly packed, and you’ve got nearly everything you need in here to get sub-ohm vaping- you just need to supply your own e-liquid…

Opening up the box, firstly you’ll find the User Manual and Warranty Card, inside a white cardboard wallet. Underneath this is the iStick X80 Device and the Melo X Tank. Pre-installed in the tank is a 0.5ohm EC-D Coil, and there is also a spare 0.3ohm EC-D Coil in the box.

I love the fact that you also have spares for the Melo X tank, such as O-Rings, Replacement Tank Sectionand even a Silicone Filling Port Cover, as this can save you from having to purchase a whole new tank if something breaks!

Design & Build Quality

The iStick X80 Kit is comprised of the iStick X80 device and the Melo X tank, with overall dimensions of 134.1mm x 38.7mm x 28.1mm, so this isn’t a little sub ohm pocket rocket- it’s actually quite tall!

The overall size might take some getting used to especially if you are moving from a pod system to a device like this that offers a little more power.

You have got five different finishes to choose from, four of which have a ‘premium ice-flower’ finish on them. The options are Red-Yellow Gradient, Black, Sky Blue, Red-Blue Gradient and Silver.

I got sent the Red-Yellow Gradient finish and I am absolutely in love with it. It is predominantly gold, with a gradient down to red at the base, and the finish just absolutely shimmers and sparkles.

The build quality is excellent too, with the device being very well machined, and it is very comfortable to hold. It doesn’t feel too weighty either, but still feels robust at the same time!

The front of the device is where all the action is. Starting from up top, there’s the press-twist button. This allows you to adjust settings and control the device by pressing and twisting, it is very responsive and tactile too.

Just underneath this is the 1.05″ TFT colour screen, which is bright and shows the usual information such as battery level, output power, output mode, coil resistance and a puff counter.

It also displays a colour animation, which can be customised. There are four different UI themes available, with ‘Racer’, ‘Pulse’, ‘Bubbles’ and ‘Aurora’ themes available through the menu.

Beneath the screen is the locking switch, and the Type-C charging port. The locking switch is actually quite smart, allowing you to lock the functional button down entirely, unlock the power function but lock the output power, or have the functional button fully unlocked.

By locking it down entirely, you can guard against accidental misfires without needing to turn your device off when not in use!

A blast from the past is present on the iStick X80 device, as this features a spring-loaded 510 connector, which used to be the standard connection on vape mods not all that long ago!

I might be a bit of a vaping dinosaur but I definitely prefer a trusty 510 connection. This means you screw your tank into the connector, rather than connecting it magnetically, and this holds firmer than a magnetic connector does.

Also, having a 510 connector means that you aren’t locked into using the tank that comes with the kit- another advantage over a device with a magnetic connection, so you can use any tank featuring a 510 connector.

Of course, the Melo X Tank features a compatible 510 connector!

Melo X Tank

The Melo X Tank features a 5ml capacity for non-TPD markets, and a 2ml capacity for TPD markets. A bubble styled glass tank section provides the extra capacity, whereas for the 2ml version the tank section is flush with the tank.

You do get a replacement tank section in the kit if you manage to crack or break the one on the tank!

You have a sliding top filling system at the top, and the drip tip connector is also 510 threaded so that you can use your own 510 threaded drip tip if you so wish.

It has a top airflow system, with two large airflow cut outs at the top of the tank which are adjusted via an airflow control ring.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Melo X Tank

As mentioned above, the Melo X tank features a sliding top fill system. This means that you slide the top of the tank to one side to reveal the silicon filling port.

My only issue with this is that the top of the tank does not seem to slide far enough back and the filling port is a little too small for some shortfill bottles, resulting in some accidental leakage when filling from time to time.

Anyway, to fill the tank, slide the top of the tank back to reveal the filling port, insert the bottle nozzle and fill it up.

If you are using a fresh coil for the first time, it is advisable to let the e-liquid sit in the tank for at least five minutes before you vape, to allow the cotton in the coil to fully absorb the e-liquid.

This will cut down on the risk of burnt hits happening and in turn will prolong the lifespan of your coil!

Operation

• Five clicks of the power button will turn the device on and off
• To vape, hold the power button down and inhale
• Accessing the menu is done via clicking the power button three times in quick succession
• Whilst in the menu, twist the button to scroll through the settings and press it to confirm your selection
• Selecting POWER mode through the menu will set the output to variable wattage, RTA mode changes it to variable voltage
• THEME allows you to choose between four different UI themes
• PUFF CLEAR resets the puff counter to zero
• The iStick X80 has a memory function setting, whereby it remembers your usual output setting after you vape with it twice in a row
• The device will automatically set a power output for your coil if needed
• The device is firmware upgradeable by using the included Type-C cable to connect it to your computer and visiting the official Eleaf website
• To fully reset the device, insert a pin into the ‘Reset’ hole located on the base of the iStick X80

Changing the Coil

To change the coil, you will need to unscrew the Melo X tank from the iStick X80 device.

After that, invert the tank and unscrew the base of it. You can then slide the old coil out and replace it with a new one, before screwing the base of the tank back in.

It is advisable to do this with an empty tank if possible as the e-liquid will spill out otherwise!

Charging

Eleaf include a Type-C cable in the box which can be used for charging, you just need to plug this into the charging port on the front of the device and utilise a suitable power output.

5V/2A fast charging is found here so you don’t have to wait around long for the iStick X80 to charge up!

Whilst charging, the charging status is displayed on screen as a percentage when you press the power button.

Pass-through charging is also present, so you can still vape whilst you charge, but this will increase the charging time.

Eleaf iStick X100 Kit

Eleaf also sent the iStick X100 Kit through so I figured that I would give it a mention in this review too.

Both devices are very similar, and they both have the same Melo X tank and coils bundled in the kit, however there are a couple of differences.

As you might have deduced from the name, the X100 is the more powerful of the two, as the power output goes right up to 100W!

It’s also slightly taller too, with dimensions of 149.6mm x 39.3mm x 29.2mm. You can see the comparison in the picture I have taken!

Rather than having a built in battery, the X100 can take a 21700 one or an 18650 using an included adaptor.

So, battery life is down to the capacity of the battery you decide to use with it!

How Does The Eleaf iStick X80 Perform?

So this is without a doubt a restricted lung/direct to lung vaping kit. You can get a mouth to lung vape from it but it doesn’t feel as suited, especially as the 0.5ohm coil is a little too strong for a MTL.

It is a powerful kit, with the power output range being 5-80W in power mode or 0.5V-9V in RTA mode. I didn’t really notice any difference in power between the two modes and I tended to opt for power mode for variable wattage as that is what I am used to!

Though I do love how Eleaf don’t restrict the power output depending on which coil that you decide to use, you have the freedom to vape however you see fit.

If you want to vape the 0.5ohm coil at 80W, despite it being rated for use at 15-25W, then you can go right ahead and do that if you so wish!

However, I would wholeheartedly recommend not doing so as for the purposes of this review I did try that out, with the end result being that the vape tasted of hot metal and it gave me a headache…

0.3ohm EC-D Coil

With this coil, Eleaf say that it works best at 30-45W, and you can push this a little further up to the 50-60W mark before it starts to struggle a bit with wicking e-liquid.

I get a warm and quite intense vape when using this coil, it is also better suited to an airier and looser draw rather than a tighter one. I was definitely impressed with the flavour results that I got from it.

If you are pushing the 45W mark with this coil, then it does keep up with wicking, even when using 60/40 and 70/30 VG/PG e-liquids.

That is a good thing as you don’t want a hot burnt hit!

0.5ohm EC-D Coil

Eleaf rate this coil for use at 15-25W, you can push this a bit further up to 30W, though I felt that it performed best for me in the 23-25W range.

In that range, and with the airflow set to provide a restricted lung hit, this just really hits the spot for me with a smooth and very flavourful vape, that has a little bit of warmth to it which compliments the e-liquids that I have been using.

Weirdly, despite usually having a preference for the lower resistance and higher powered option, I actually preferred the 0.5ohm EC-D coil.

The smoother, cooler vape and restricted lung hit just seemed to vibe with me a bit more.

Maybe all this time vaping prefilled/refillable pods has chilled my vaping style out somewhat!

Both of these coils are excellent though and do their respective jobs very well indeed.

Coil Compatibility

Not only is the Melo X tank compatible with the included EC-D coils, but you can use any of Eleaf’s EC coils in this tank, making it compatible with:

• 0.15/0.3/0.5ohm EC-D Dual Mesh
• 0.15/0.3/0.5ohm EC-A Mesh
• 0.3/0.5ohm EC-2 Mesh
• 0.15ohm EC-M Mesh
• 0.15ohm EC-N Mesh coils.

To push the power limits of this device, and vape in the 70-80W mark, you will need one of the 0.15ohm coils in order to do so.

Just don’t use the temperature control EC coils with the iStick X80 device as the iStick X80 does not support temperature control!

Coil Lifespan

Now the lifespan of your coil will depend on different factors such as the viscosity of your e-liquid, how often you vape, the power level you vape at and the flavourings and sweetener content of your e-liquids.

I got a week from the 0.5ohm coil, using it in the 23-25W power range, and five days from the 0.3ohm one at 40-45W. I was primarily vaping dessert and custard shortfills, with 60/40 and 70/30 VG/PG ratios.

I will say that the Melo X tank is a thirsty one, regardless of which EC coil that you decide to use!

Shortfills will be your friend here as you will get through a lot of e-liquid using this kit, which is par for the course with a sub-ohm tank as the increased power level combined with a larger cotton surface area absorbs and uses more e-liquids.

I got sent the 5ml capacity version and I would refill this at least once a day, sometimes more. The 2ml TPD version would require a fair few refills during your day depending on how frequently you vape!

Airflow

Well, the Melo X tank has airflow for absolute days!

It boasts two huge airflow slots at the top of the tank, controlled by a buttery smooth airflow control.

When you are vaping at high wattage and have the airflow opened right up, you get some absolutely massive clouds! It can also be quite noisy too, as there’s a noticeable ‘wooshing’ sound as airflow is drawn in.

To achieve a restricted lung hit, you’ve got to close those airflow intakes down somewhat. There are also smaller, circular airflow intake holes that can provide a mouth to lung hit (and a quieter vape) when the larger intake slots are totally closed off, but this tank really is for lung hitting.

Heat dissipation is quite impressive too, as when vaping at high wattage both the tank and the drip tip stayed relatively cool during use.

Battery Life

Eleaf have managed to pack in a 3200mAh battery into the iStick X80 device, which is capable of really keeping up with extended vaping sessions.

It is quite noticeable when using the 0.5ohm EC coil in the Melo X tank, as I’m getting a good couple of days of vaping before I need to pop it on charge.

Of course, it is well worth bearing in mind that if you are vaping frequently at high power with a low resistance EC coil in the Melo X tank, battery life is going to take a hit!

Pros

• Phenomenal flavour from the Melo X tank
• Excellent battery life
• Fast charging
• Melo X tank is compatible with a lot of different coils
• Wide range of different airflow options
• Powerful device
• Great choice for someone getting into restricted lung/direct to lung vaping
• Clever locking switch operation

• Plenty of spares in the box for the Melo X tank

Cons

• It’s a big old kit!
• Filling port opening is quite small and can cause spillage when filling
• Melo X tank can be pretty thirsty on e-liquid
• It is also quite noisy with the airflow opened up

Final Verdict

I was dead excited to get my hands on this kit as I was a big fan of the original Eleaf iStick back in the day, I owned many of them and frequently rocked my iStick with the Eleaf Melo tank!

Pleasingly, this brings back memories of those heady days of vaping when lung hitting and blowing the biggest, most anti-social clouds was all the rage!

The Melo X tank is even better than how I remembered the previous Melo tank to be. Flavour is absolutely spot-on, and the airflow means you can easily cloud out a room in a couple of minutes if you so wish!

And the iStick X80 device is as rock solid and dependable as previous iStick devices were…

It is accessible (a key component of iStick devices in the past) so that anyone can get to grips with it easily, it is powerful and it has battery life that just goes on and on, thanks to the 3200mAh built in battery.

Plus of course, if you want even more power, there is also the option of the iStick X100 kit too!

Although refillable pod systems and prefilled pod kits currently dominate the market, it’s worth remembering that vaping trends can be quite cyclical and they change quickly. Could the iStick X80 kit potentially kick-start a revival in sub-ohm vaping…

I certainly think it could (and as a sub-ohm vaper at heart, I sure hope it does!), thanks to the accessibility of the device and the absolutely excellent performance that you get from the Eleaf iStick X80 kit!

What Can We Expect From The Eleaf iVeni Duo?

As you may have already guessed from the section above, yes the Eleaf iVeni Duo is a refillable pod system first and foremost!

It’s a powerful one at that too, boasting a variable wattage range of 8-40W that can be adjusted by using a spinning twist-push control button, making it easy to adjust power using only your thumb.

A 1300mAh battery can power the iVeni Duo for up to three days, and it recharges quickly thanks to 5V/2A USB-C fast charging- reaching 80% battery charge in only 30 minutes!

iVeni Duo pods feature a 2ml capacity that can be refilled via a top filling system, these also have a dual coil system that is powered by Duotech, which enhances vaping performance by utilizing a dual heating system to ensure richer flavour, denser vapour and improved coil longevity.

Power and Eco modes give you the opportunity to experiment and get different experiences from your iVeni Duo pods, and the airflow can be adjusted too, making the iVeni Duo perfect for mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vaping.

Design & Build Quality

With dimensions of 24.8mm x 14.7mm x 120.5mm, the iVeni Duo is actually fairly compact compared to some other pod systems out there, it is also quite lightweight in hand.

There’s a nice gradient colour finish to the device, with six colour options available which include black, gradient silver-black, blue gradient, light pink, purple and gradient pink-green.

The screen is billed by Eleaf as a colour screen, however it is really only a dual colour gradient screen.

It does match the device colour, so for example if you have the Blue Gradient device the screen will have a blue gradient colour to it.

It is quite a basic screen, but it shows what you need at a glance, displaying the output mode, wattage, battery life and whether the button is locked or unlocked.

A ‘twist-push’ control button is located in the screen itself, which controls the functionality of the device and can also be used to fire it too. It is very tactile, with a satisfying click when you push it, there’s also a fairly loud clicking noise when you rotate the button which won’t be for everyone (it wasn’t for me!).

As with pretty much all other pod systems out there, the iVeni Duo pods connect magnetically to the device. These have a 2ml capacity and you can see exactly how much e-liquid remains in the pod thanks to the transparent design.

Quick Start Guide

How to Fill the Pod

Firstly, locate the silicone filling port on the pod, which is on the side at the top. There’s no need to remove the pod from the device in order to fill it, which is handy!

Open the filling port cover up, and insert the nozzle from your bottle of e-liquid.

Make sure you fill the pod all the way up, whilst taking care not to overfill the pod, so that the cotton in the coil can fully absorb the e-liquid.

If you are filling a new pod for the first time, let the e-liquid sit in the tank for five minutes before you vape, to help protect you against burnt hits and prolong the lifespan of the pod.

Operation

Changing the device settings is done via a combination of button presses on the control button.

Firstly, you’ll need to power the device on. Clicking the power button five times quickly will turn the device on, and you can turn it off with five presses of the power button.

An auto draw system is in place, so you can just take a puff on the pod to vape, but if you would prefer to use the control button to fire the device then click the button 4 times in 1.5 seconds to activate button firing.

When you insert a pod, the device smartly detects the resistance of the coil and automatically sets a power output, however you do have some freedom to change this.

To adjust the power, press the power button three times in 1.5 seconds and rotate the button to adjust the power.

This will be limited depending on the resistance of your coil and whether eco or power mode is active.

For example, when using the 0.8ohm iVeni Duo pod, you are limited to 26-30W in power mode and 14-18W in Eco mode.

With the 1.2ohm pod, you can vape at 20-24W in power mode and 11-13W in Eco mode. That isn’t the largest adjustable wattage range to choose from!

Adjusting between eco and power modes is done by quick pressing the power button twice.

The flame icon at the bottom of the screen will have a single bar above it if eco mode is active, and two if power mode is active.

Battery level is displayed on screen by 1-3 bars, one bar means 1-30% battery is left, two bars is 31-70% and three bars is 71-100%.

Charging

At the base of the device is the USB-C charging port, and a USB-C charging cable is included in the kit. Simply plug this into the charging port and use a suitable power source.

The battery recharges at a rate of 5V/2A, with fast charging capabilities charging the battery up to 80% within 30 minutes!

How Does The Eleaf iVeni Duo Perform?

0.8ohm and 1.2ohm iVeni Duo pods are included with the kit, giving you the ability to try out mouth to lung and restricted direct lung vaping out of the box, and there is the option to purchase a 0.6ohm iVeni Duo pod separately.

There’s full compatibility with pods from the existing iVeni range, so pods used with the iVeni, iVeni Lite and iVeni SE devices are compatible, however iVeni Pods (which only contain a single coil) can only be used in Eco mode with the iVeni Duo.

To utilise the power mode function on the iVeni Duo, you must use an iVeni Duo pod which has a dual coil set up!

An output wattage range of 8-40W is available, which is pretty impressive for a kit like this, however as mentioned earlier in the review, the wattage range is limited depending on which pod is being used and whether the device is in eco or power mode.

Also, you can’t vape any higher than 30W with the included 0.8ohm pod (24W with the 1.2ohm pod), you need to purchase the 0.6ohm pod to hit the 40W mark.

Flavour

I was really impressed with how crisp the flavour is with both the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods, it is surprisingly strong too and both pods have quite a warm vape when in power mode.

When in Eco mode, I wasn’t as impressed, as to me the flavour just felt a bit flatter and some of the flavour notes in my e-liquids weren’t as prominent as they were in power mode. The vape is also substantially cooler too.

This is personal preference however, as I do prefer a stronger and warmer vape.

Pod Lifespan

Eleaf tick the boxes here!

I was sent two iVeni Duo devices to review, therefore I was able to try out the 0.8ohm and 1.2ohm pods simultaneously.

I primarily vaped sweetener heavy fruity e-liquids, which can be pretty aggressive on coils, my initial 0.8ohm pod lasted me 8 days before I needed to switch it out and I got 9 days out of the 1.2ohm pod.

Also, I was vaping on both pods pretty heavily and running them in power mode at the higher end of the wattage range that they are rated for, so for them to last as long as they did is impressive indeed!

Airflow

Adjusting the airflow is done via the airflow control slider, which is found on the side of the iVeni Duo.

You can go from a tight mouth to lung vape, with the airflow closed right down, through to an airy restricted lung hit with the airflow opened up.

With the airflow opened up, the iVeni Duo is capable of producing some pretty impressive levels of vapour, so if clouds are your thing then this kit definitely doesn’t disappoint!

Battery Life

Eleaf say that the iVeni Duo can last up to three days from a full charge…

Now, that is a bit of a push, I would agree with that statement if you were vaping very sparingly with the 1.2ohm pod in eco mode, not if you use the 0.8ohm pod in power mode however!

I guess the key phrase there is ‘up to!’

Your battery life will vary depending on the pod, output power and your own vaping habits, but for someone like myself who vapes quite heavily and likes a bit of power from their vape, you can get a full day from a full charge.

I did of course test the 1.2ohm pod out in eco mode, and I got just over a day’s use from it before I needed to pop it on charge. I was vaping very heavily though, as it was a lot less power than I like from my vape.

Pros

Final Verdict

Many moons ago, I absolutely loved Eleaf products and this was mainly in part to the outstanding performance that they delivered.

I’m pleased to say that even though I haven’t used an Eleaf product for a while, that same outstanding and reliable performance is found with the iVeni Duo!

The iVeni Duo pods are excellent, providing clean and vibrant flavour with each puff, with some good longevity from them as well which saves you from having to shell out on new pods every few days.

Battery life is good enough to get me through a full days worth of vaping, and from a device of this size I can’t ask for much more than that.

It is a refillable pod system that looks the part too, with the prominent twist-push function button standing out but offering great, user-friendly functionality too.

I’ve really enjoyed my time with the Eleaf iVeni Duo, and hopefully we will be seeing more from Eleaf over the coming months!

The Eleaf iStick range have been going for a long time! The most famous of the iStick devices is of course the Pico. Plus of course the “iStick” range which we first reviewed in 2015 as the iStick 20W up to the most recent iStick Mini 20W.

More Details On The Eleaf iStick i75 Kit…

This is kind of a box mod and tank kit but also could be classed as a pod kit!

The reason for this classification is that there is a standard 510 box mod in the kit – the iStick i75, but instead of a sub ohm tank you actually get a pod.

Inside the mod is a 3000mAh battery which is charged using the USB Type C port at a 2A charge rate.

The output is specified as 1-75W or 0.5-9V. You can choose either Variable Wattage or Variable Voltage user modes.

The pod uses the EP range of coils also found in the iJust AIO Pro kit. They come in 0.15ohm, 0.6ohm and 1.2ohm versions. Depending on the area where the kit is purchased you get either the 0.6ohm and 1.2ohm coils (TPD regulated areas) or the 0.15ohm and 0.6ohm (non TPD regulated areas).

It is called a pod tank as it has a removable base assembly which converts it from being a pod to a tank with a 510 connection base for use with other mods.

This base also houses the bottom airflow adjustment.

There are 2 capacity options depending on the area of sale, in standard form it holds 5ml and TPD form it is reduced to 2ml.

A filling port is provided on the pod base.

If you think the name looks familiar – yes you are right! This is an update to the iJust AIO which was released in 2020.

So let’s see what is new for the Pro…

The first update is to the battery capacity, in fact it has doubled from 1500mAh up to 3000mAh.

Plus the charging port is not longer a micro USB – it is a USB Type C with a 2A charge rate.

Also the output has increased from the 23W max of the original – up to a whopping 70W max!

The output appears to not be adjustable by the user, however the device automatically adjusts the output to suit the coil installed.

This is fire button operated and the LED indicator light surrounding the button informs of battery and device status.

The pod is where the coil and e-liquid live and the bottom fill port allows you to add up to 5ml of your own e-liquid.

There is also a 2ml version available for TPD regulated areas.

Here we come to another update – the coils! The original used the “GT” coil range, however this version uses the new range of EP coils. These come in 0.15ohm, 0.6ohm and 1.2ohm versions. The type of kit (standard or TPD) denotes which coils are included.

The airflow is adjustable by rotating the pod in the mod body to open or close the airflow inlets.

I reviewed the Eleaf iStick Melo kit with the Melo 4 tank and absolutely loved it. In fact I gave it to a friend and she bought multiple Melo tanks as she enjoyed them!

What To Expect From The Eleaf Melo 6 Tank…

So this is a Sub Ohm Tank designed for high VG e-liquid and DTL vaping with replaceable coil heads.

Talking of coil heads, as with the rest of the Melo range this is compatible with the existing EC range of coils from Eleaf.

Also two new coils have been added to the range for the Melo 6 – the fine Mesh EC-A 0.15ohm and 0.3ohm AST coils.

AST is a coil technology used by Eleaf and Joyetech and stands for Austenitic Stainless Steel Technology which promises longer coil life and a cleaner vape. Plus being Steel it means the mod it is attached to can help regulate the temperature better.

The tank will hold up to 5ml (standard) or 2ml (for TPD regulated areas) of your own e-liquid but of course you can always change the Glass tube to alter the capacity.

A push to slide top cap gives access to the fill port to make life easier.

The main update is that the airflow enters from the top. This is of course adjustable and top airflow means that there are less likely to be leaks from e-liquid dripping out of the airflow inlet.

The Mini iStick range (as the name suggests) were smaller lower power devices and includes the original Mini iStick and the Mini iStick V2 which I reviewed.

What To Expect From The Eleaf Mini iStick 20W…

This is just a box mod – no tank or pod included. But it has a standard 510 connection on the top for use with low power, high resistance MTL style tanks.

The mod can accommodate tanks of 16.5mm in diameter or less, any bigger than that and they will be overhanging the mod and possibly obscuring the screen.

This is a variable voltage device and you can adjust between 2.6V and 5V and your data is visible on the top mounted screen.

The original iStick Mini had a maximum 10W output, but this version has a 20W maximum – hence the “20W” in the name…

Inside the tiny body is a 1050mAh battery which is a great capacity for a small device.

Also you get USB Type C charging at 1A charging rate.

This is an update to the iStick Amnis range which consists of the original Amnis and Amnis 2 kits.

This consists of 2 main components, the mod (or battery section) and the tank.

The tank has already been on the original Amnis kit. Thankfully this has great compatibility with all the GS range of coils.

You get the GS Air 0.75ohm and 1.4ohm coils in the kit.

The TPD friendly 2ml capacity tank is filled via a childproof slide top fill cap and an airflow adjustment ring is provided on the tank base.

A 510 connection on both the mod and tank mean they are interchangeable with other standard 510 devices.

Looking now at the new component in this kit – the Amnis 3 mod.

This has a 900mAh battery with USB Type C 1A charging. Eleaf say this can be fully charged in around an hour.

Before I go into detail about this kit, it is worth noting the very low price point. I assume this is to compete with Disposable Vapes. This kit is priced to be comparable to 2 disposables.

With the price in mind you will understand this is very basic function wise.

Also this is designed to be simple – so the pod component is disposable. When the internal coil performance declines you dispose of the pod and replace with a new one.

The good news is that the pod is refillable. A top fill port is provided and you do not have to remove the pod to access this.

Inside the pod is a 0.8ohm Mesh coil which should allow for great flavour and coil life.

A cute cover cap is included to keep all the dust and yuk out of the mouthpiece.

Battery wise this has a large 1000mAh capacity and charges via the USB Type C port at a 1A charge rate. Surprisingly for the price do you get a charging cable included.

You can use the fire button to manually fire or simply inhale on the mouthpiece for the auto draw fire to activate.

An LED indicator is provided to show of any fault conditions. It does not appear to show the battery charge remaining – I have downloaded the user manual to check!

The iJust range is quite varied with pod kits (iJust AIO, iJust D20), Vape Pens (iJust Mini, iJust ECM) and now the P40 which is a pod mod style kit.

More Details On The Eleaf iJust P40…

This consists of 2 main components, the mod (or battery section) and the pod (or tank).

The mod is a new component and contains a 1500mAh battery with USB Type C 2A fast charging.

Output wise this is specified as 10-40W and you have LED indicators which display the power level you have chosen.

Also another LED indicator will show the battery charge remaining by changing colour – 60-100% charge = Green LED, 20-59% = Blue LED and less than 20% = Red LED.

The chip will select the appropriate output for you depending on the coil installed but you can adjust this.

Another feature which makes this more versatile is the airflow adjustment, which is actually located on the mod rather than the pod. Use the control to open or close the airflow to your preference.

The pod or tank section is called the iJust D20 pod and in standard format will hold up to 3ml of your own e-liquid. For TPD regulated areas this is reduced to 2ml.

Simply slide the pod top cap to get access for refilling.

This kit is also compatible with the iJust D20 and GTL D20 tank found in the iStick i40 kit. But it is worth noting it does not appear to have a standard 510 connection so don’t expect to be able to use other pods / tanks with this kit.

When it comes to coils this uses the GTL coil range found on many other Eleaf kits. You get the upgraded 0.8ohm and 0.4ohm GTL Kanthal Mesh coils included in the kit.

The kit includes the new iStick i40 mod and the GTL D20 pod tank.

The pod tank is as the name suggests a combo of a magnetic fitting pod with a 510 adaptor base.

The base also acts as the airflow control unit with a rotatable ring to adjust the airflow to your preference.

You can use the tank with existing GTL coils and you get the 1.2ohm and 0.8ohm mesh coils in the kit.

To make life even easier the coils have a simple push in installation.

A slide top cap gives access to the top fill ports for easy refilling.

Depending on the area the tank comes in either a standard 3ml capacity or 2ml for TPD regulated areas.
