The CoilArt Djinni Pod Kit is a new pod mod setup with some “flashy” features…

CoilArt Djinni Pod Kit

What is a “Djinni” and what is so flashy about this kit? Do not fear I will elaborate below!

CoilArt Djinni Pod Kit Details

The first question to tackle is what does Djinni mean? Well it appears to be an invisible spirit – mainly related to Islam and can appear on earth in many forms.CoilArt Djinni Pod Kit preview

The second question is about the “flashy” features. Yep this has flashing LED side panels. Apparently you can also replace these for different styles – but I have not seen any for sale.

For instance on the Motor version the helmet lights up and on the Monster version the monster face lights up – see below.CoilArt Djinni Pod Kit lights

On the Geisha version her face lights up – Green…

CoilArt Djinni Pod Kit geisha lit up

Moving on to the actual vaping parts of this kit – the main device has an internal 950mAh battery. This is charged via the USB type C port and the charge rate is 760mAh. Apparently around 1.5hours will be needed for a full recharge.

This has a variable wattage output and you can choose from between 5-40W. A screen displays your vaping data and there is a fire button and adjustment buttons.djinni components

The pod is where you add your e-liquid and this will hold up to 2ml. There is a mention that this is a top fill style device but I have not seen any details on this sadly.

You have 3 different coil options and they are generously all included in the kit:

  • 0.4ohm mesh coil
  • 1.2ohm dual coil
  • 0.6ohm coil

djinni front rear
I have not seen any mention of whether the airflow is adjustable.

There are 3 versions to choose from: Demon, Geisha and Motor.

Kit Includes

  • CoilArt Djinni device

  • 0.4ohm Mesh coil
  • 1.2ohm dual coil

  • Pods: Refillable, replaceable coil
  • Coil options: 1.2ohm dual coil, 0.4ohm Mesh, 0.6ohm

The CoilArt Blazar MTL Kit consists of the Blazar MTL RTA and the semi-regulated Blazar Mod.blazar mtl kit banner

Starting with the mod this really reminds me of some of the smaller mods available at the moment such as the Ultroner Mini Stick and the Cthulhu Tube Mod.blazar purple

The reason why this is similar is because like the above devices this uses a single 18350 battery which is a lot smaller than your usual 18650.blazar kit components

Also like the above this is a semi-mechanical or semi-regulated mod. Basically it is a mechanical mod with an addition of a chip for extra protection. We tell you more about mechanical and regulated mods in our Guide To Mod Types.blazar social media photos

The fire button is located on the side of the mod. I am not sure of the chip functions as often when a chip is fitted you get extra features such as a 5 click on and off and a battery indicator light.  blazar promo shot

At the base of the mod is the twist on adjustable battery cap which should be able to accommodate most 18350 batteries and adjust to compensate for any variations in total length.

Moving on to the RTA – this is a single coil build deck. Sadly I have no proper images showing the deck in its full glory – sorry about that!

A zoomed in view of the deck from the exploded view!

You fill the RTA via the top fill cap which is also apparently childproof and leakproof.

blazar rta zoom in
A zoomed in view of the RTA from the exploded view!

At the base of the RTA is a 6 level airflow adjustment with various size airflow inlets to choose from.

There are 5 colours to choose from: Stainless Steel, Black, Resin Green, Resin Yellow and Resin Purple.

  • CoilArt Blazar Mod
  • CoilArt Blazar MTL RTA
  • Spare glass
  • Accessories bag

CoilArt Blazar Mod Specs

  • Size: 324x98mm (Including RTA)
  • Battery: 1x 18350
  • Chip protection
  • 3-4.2V working voltage
  • Resistance range: 0.15-3ohm
  • Side mounted fire button
  • Bottom adjustable battery cap
  • Locking fire button

CoilArt Blazar MTL RTA Specs

  • Capacity: 2ml
  • Single coil build deck
  • Slide top filling (childproof)
  • 6 level bottom airflow

I think this is a lovely looking kit and although the 18350 batteries are low in power and capacity they should be fine with a high resistance coil installed.

The Coilart Lux 200 Kit is a regulated 200w dual battery box mod coupled with the Lux Tank as a topper.Coilart Lux 200 Kit head

Coilart was established in 2016, their design team is based in the US but they manufacture their products in China.

They advocate a healthy, stylish vape culture around the world. Coilart hosted the 1st Global trick competition back in 2017, for which they were widely praised by global vapers and enthusiasts.

They have bought us products like Mage Mech V2.0 Stacked Edition, Mage RTA V2 and the Azeroth RDTA.

What Can We Expect From the Coilart Lux 200 Kit?

With 5 gorgeous colours available the Lux 200w Kit by Coilart is as beautiful as it is luxurious looking. It has a calibre of craftsmanship and aesthetic beauty that screams quality.Coilart Lux 200 Kit turn

The Lux mod is in the style of the good old square box mod and is mostly made from a zinc-alloy construction. The shiny marble finish on the side glass panels is superb, damn this thing looks and feel amazing!

It will fire up to 200w with a 0.005 second firing speed thanks to the new smart eagle chipset and it’s also fully customizable using a computer and the Coilart software.

The Lux Tank is a unique design that comes with 2 mesh coils it has smooth dual airflow slots. A little bit of a letdown in looks compared to the mod but the faux marble is interestingly different.

This kit was purchased by myself. As always my thoughts and views with this kit are my own after a considerable testing period.

Top and Bottom and Backside of the device

The bottom of the Lux 200 has the normal safety marks as well as design info along with 6 venting or board cooling holes.Coilart Lux 200 Kit bottom mod

The top of the mod has a stainless steel connection with slots for those that use 510 airflow. The 510 threading is well turned, the connection pin is gold plated and spring loaded and sits to the front of the device over the workface.

The device will hold atomisers up to 24mm in diameter.Coilart Lux 200 Kit connection

The backside of the mod has “LUX200” branding.Coilart Lux 200 Kit advert side

None of the sides have been rounded so after a while the mod may become uncomfortable to hold.

Battery Doors and Sled

The device has 2 battery doors that are gorgeous they are made from reinforced glass with UV printing to give them a marbled pattern, the main door has a slight movement to it while the other has none.Coilart Lux 200 Kit uv doors

Lux Tank Walk Around

I have the 2ml TPD version I am currently waiting for the larger capacity replacement bubble glass and more coils to arrive.

The tank is made of stainless steel, brass, resin and Pyrex, the tank breaks down into 6 parts including the coil.Coilart Lux 200 Kit tank parts

Base, Coils and Airflow

The bottom of the base has the normal info laser printed on to the SS.Coilart Lux 200 Kit tank bottom

The 510 threading is very well turned, the connection is a non-adjustable gold plated pin (not recommended for hybrid connections).

The airflow ring is made of resin and has 2 wide slots, the airflow ring doesn’t spin all the way around they have used a stainless steel peg as a stopper.Coilart Lux 200 Kit 510 and airflow

The base cup has good threading for the coils and an O’ring stopper ring for the glass to sit upon.

Coilart have supplied 2 coils with the tank:Coilart Lux 200 Kit tank coils

  • 0.15Ω M1 – 50 to 90w – Mesh Single Coil
  • 0.15Ω M4 – 80 to 150w – Mesh Quad Coil

Glass and Chimney, Fill Port

The glass is made of Pyrex the EU version will hold 2ml of liquid while the standard version will hold 5.5ml.Coilart Lux 200 Kit pyrex tanks

The fill Port and Chimney section is in one piece, made of brass the fill port consists of 2 kidney shaped holes that are covered by the top cap.Coilart Lux 200 Kit fill port brass

The chimney section screws directly into the coil. It’s rather short but it has a small O’ring in place behind the thread to stop the coil from being flooded.Coilart Lux 200 Kit tank chimney

Top Cap | MouthPiece

The top cap has a stainless steel inlay surrounded by a resin shell the SS threading is turned well. There is a wide washer inset into the cap so when it is screwed on to the fill port section no leaks will occur!Coilart Lux 200 Kit top cap inside

The 810 mouthpiece is made or resin and fits into the top cap. It’s a tight fit being that the mouthpiece is the type with 2 O’rings and the top cap has an embedded O’ring.Coilart Lux 200 Kit tank Drip Tip

The whole kit has be designed and manufactured extremely well with top grade materials.

How Does Coilart Lux 200 Kit Perform?

For this example I will first use the M4 0.15Ω coil followed by the M1 0.15Ω I have filled the Tank up with Strawberry and Lime e-liquid by Frukt Cyder.

Basic Quick Start Guide

Lux tank

I recommend emptying the tank before changing your coils or you will make a mess.

  1. Unscrew the connection base from the tank to change coils.
  2. Unscrew the old coil from the base and replace with a new one.
  3. Prep the coil by dropping a few drop of e-liquid onto the cotton within the coil.

Coilart Lux 200 Kit prep coil

Screw the base back into the body of the tank.

Coilart Lux 200 Kit tank together

Unscrew the top cap and fill with liquid.Coilart Lux 200 Kit fill tankReplace the cap and screw on to the Lux 200 Mod, leave for 5 minutes so the cotton can soak up more e-liquid.

Lux 200 Mod

Remove the battery door/s and insert your 2 x 18650 batteries following the battery orientation marks.Coilart Lux 200 Kit in batterys

The mod does supports on board charging via the micro USB port, although for safety I would recommend charging your batteries using a standalone charger such asd the Golisi S6.

5 rapid clicks of the fire button will turn the device on and off.

Menu System Basics

  • Click the fire button 3 times to switch modes; Power, Bypass, TC Modes Ni, Ti, SS
  • Power mode the device will give you a suggested wattage based on the Ω of your coil.
  • Press fire 4 times to change puff strength, Strong, Weak, Normal, and Custom.

Choosing the Custom setting you can set different power every second i.e. 1s 150w, 2’s 200w, 3s 160w, 4s 120w, 5s 80w etc

This can also be setup via the Coilart software available via their website along with other attributes like firmware upgrading.

Safety Protections

The mod includes 10 protections these include:-

  • USB input
  • Equalizing charge system
  • Low voltage
  • Low resistance
  • Output short circuit
  • Over time
  • Over charge
  • Over Temperature
  • Over Current
  • Anti loaded battery

Flavour and Vapour

M4 Coil at 80-120w

Starting out at 80W and the AF wide open, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a warm flavoursome vape with dense cloud straight off the bat from the Lux tank!Coilart Lux 200 Kit toot test

Bumping the watts up to 120w in 10w increments, I found that the vapour gets extremely hot as does the tank. However, the tank does cool quite quickly, the flavour sort of petered out for me around 95w.

My go to vape with this tank and coil is up to 80w.

M1 Coil – 65-70w

Switching out for the M1 coil, which is much more my style, vaping it around the 65/70w range the flavour was very good with a decent amount of vapour production the tank still gets warm but not overly so.Coilart Lux 200 Kit thumb

Coil life

I have been using this kit for 2 weeks.

The M4 coil lasted me 4 days with heavy use at 80w before I started getting a burnt taste!

The M1 coil so far has lasted me well over a week vaping it at 65w, I have just noticed a slight drop in the flavour while writing this.Coilart Lux 200 Kit info screen

Battery Life etc

I have been using Avatar 2100mah 18650’s in the Lux, and have managed a good 3.5 to 4hrs of use.

The mod is rather heavy once the batteries and tank are installed which might be a downer for some.

Also because the mod is square and the sides have not been rounded in anyway some might find it uncomfortable to hold for long periods.

Although I personally find it OK to hold for extended periods, maybe because I have large hands!Coilart Lux 200 Kit hand

Pros

Lux 200 Mod

  • Very good quality
  • Very good design
  • Excellent manufacture
  • Beautiful to look at
  • Easy to use
  • Easily understood menu system
  • Firmware upgradeable
  • Configurable with PC software
  • Good battery life

Lux Tank

  • Fairly good looking
  • Fair coil life
  • Good flavour and vapour production

Cons

Lux 200 Mod

  • Un rounded sides
  • Fairly heavy with batteries and tank installed

Lux Tank

  • Very hot vapour in the 95/120w range
  • Tank gets very hot

Final Review Verdict

To be honest I found it hard to find points I didn’t really like about the Coilart Lux 200 Kit and those I have listed as Cons above really are just nit picking.

The size of the whole kit is perfect for me and my large hands, although I can see where some might not like the overall weight and shape.

The whole kit is stunning to look at, and while the tank isn’t my cup of char it functions very well as a sub ohm tank.

Would I Recommend the Lux 200 Kit?

Yes I would!

Would I buy the Coilart Lux 200 again due loss or damage?

Again yes I would; however I’d be tempted to leave the tank in the box in favour of an RTA or RDA.

Have you used this kit? Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

The CoilArt website gives little detail on the original Mage Mech mod however it does appear to be a single battery 18650 mod.mage mech v1 v2

The V2.0 can use 18650 (with adaptors), 21700 or 20700 batteries.mage mech v2 poster

In standard form you would use this with a single battery. However the kit does include the stacking tube so you can add an extra battery in series to give more power – although the total battery capacity will only be the same as a single battery. You will need to be well versed in battery safety and Ohms law to use this mod safely.mage mech v2 stack tube

The 510 connector is a Hybrid style – which basically means there is no 510 connector as such – the tank base is open to the battery contacting it when the base switch is pressed to fire. Having a direct connection to the battery reduces the path and components through which the power has to travel – each extra component adds more resistance. You must of course choose an atomiser which is Hybrid compatible.mage mech v2 hybrid connector

The generous kit includes extra fire pins, extra buttons and extra springs – so you will have plenty of spares. Plus of course with mech mods there is so much less to go wrong.mage mech v2 collage

The only colour option is the Electroplated Frosted black colour which overlies the Brass construction tube and internal insulation.mage mech v2 black

Kit Includes

  • CoilArt Mage Mech V2.0 Stacked Edition Mod
  • Stacking tube
  • Spare fire pin
  • Extra button
  • 2×18650 battery adaptor
  • 2xseries adaptor
  • Mech spring x2

CoilArt Mage Mech V2.0 Stacked Edition Mod Specs

  • Size: 25x91mm (Lower portion of tube is 26mm Diameter)
  • Material: Brass construction with electroplating frosted black
  • Battery: 1 or 2 x 18650 / 21700 or 20700 (not included)
  • Self adjusting battery connector
  • Internal insulation protection
  • Hybrid 510 connector
  • Dual battery in series stackable

This looks to be a versatile kit with the stacking option and battery choices.

What Can We Expect From The Coilart Mage V2 RTA?

As stated there, I’m a fan of the appearance and there’s no reason to say differently here, other than to comment that the V2 also comes in gun-metal grey. I think this colour slightly edges the black in terms of my preference but that’s entirely subjective.

Coilart Mage RTA v2 review

But can it perform as well as the best RTA on the market? Let’s find out.

Disclaimer: I received the CoilArt Mage RTA V2 for the purpose of this review. All opinions are based on my own experience.

Design and Build Quality

For all the reasons I liked the Mage subtank – the design, knurling, airflow and ease of refilling – I equally like the Mage RTA V2. There’s nothing further to add, it looks great and feels high quality.Coilart Mage V2 rta with frosted tank

Build Deck

I’m going to focus this review on the deck. It’s very similar in style to the Vandy Vape Kylin Mini with that honeycomb airflow. The Kylin was extremely easy to build on, so I had high hopes, but I was left very disappointed.
Coilart mage v2 rta vs kylinPersonally, I found the Mage RTA V2 to be a bit of a nightmare.

Everything about it is fiddly, from trying to fit two coils in without them touching, to the poor-quality grub screws that stripped on the slightest impact and the difficulty in getting the coil legs to connect to the screws and stay in place. This tank is not for the faint-hearted, it requires patience, skill and time.

Perhaps if you’re a seasoned builder this tank doesn’t present the list of challengers that it will for others but I struggled with it immensely.

Let me break-down why:

The post screws hit the coil the wrong way. If you have a flat coil the screw pushes up against it and bends the coil all out of shape. This impacts on positioning. You get the coil in place but the stress that the screws put on the coil legs means that the coil will twist.

It’s extremely difficult to clamp down the coils correctly and even harder getting a second coil in the right position and preventing it from hitting the first.

On the CoilArt website it looks easy.Coilart mage rta v2 dual coil

The reality is different!coilart mage rta 2 build

There’s very little space for two coils, meaning you need the exact right number of wraps, and for the coils to be small in diameter. If you make your own coils maybe this is less of an issue, but if you buy pre-made coils you’ll have to be very particular about what you get.

Trying to get the coils in place and sit straight without touching anything is very difficult. These coils were only 2.5mm in diameter. build on coilart mage 2 rta

How Does CoilArt Mage SubTank Perform?

If you nail the build stage exactly right this is a great vape. The vapour production is insane and the flavour superb from my Wick Liquor e-liquid.

The way the airflow hits the coils is perfect and the design of the chimney means the overall result is an incredibly smooth and flavourful warm vape.coilart mage v2 rta deck and tank

I didn’t experience any leaking and refilling was a breeze. It’s a standout RTA and gives better flavour than others I’ve tried.

Pros:

  • Affordable
  • Easy to unscrew top fill due to grippy knurling
  • Large juice holes
  • Good e liquid capacity
  • Looks good and nice build quality
  • No leaks
  • Bubble glass to increase capacity provided

Cons:

  • Tricky to build – do not underestimate just how tricky!
  • Recommend for advanced builders only

Final Verdict

This is a great looking RTA at an affordable price but I really can’t recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have the time, patience, and tools to get it up and running. This tank boils down to one question, is it worth the effort?

For you it might well be, for me it most certainly isn’t. Yes it edges on flavour but not enough for the sheer amount of frustration that goes into installing the coils and this is all down to the screw placement.

Had CoilArt taken a leaf out of the Vandy Vape Kylin Mini and designed the screws to come in from the ends rather than the sides it would have made coiling the tank so much easier and, as a result, this would have been a knock-out winner.

I’m going to get straight to the point, I liked the CoilArt Subtank. When I saw that it was retailing for under £20 I liked it even more. But when I got going with its pre-installed mesh coil, I fell in love with this tank. This tank is all about the superb mesh coil it comes with.Coilart Mage Subtank review

If you’re after a stock coil sub-ohm tank akin to the likes of the SMOK baby beast or Uwell Nunchaku, the CoilArt Mage subtank is one to consider.

Make no mistake, this isn’t a SMOK TFV12, nor a Uwell Valyrian, if you’re after a monstrous power beast, this isn’t where you should spend your cash. If you’re after a tank that balances flavour, performance, clouds, and cost – then I’m confident enough to say you may have found it with the CoilArt Mage Subtank.

It’s well designed, looks smart, and, it’s easy to use. Let’s dive in to the reasons why I think the Mage sits heads and shoulders above a lot of similar sub-ohm tanks, without condescendingly mentioning how an RDA or an RTA will always be better. Ok. It’s true. They are. But I’m on your side. You have jobs, kids, aging parents, washing to do, dinner to cook and friends to meet and neither the time nor the will to want to build and wick your own coils when you can buy them straight off the shelf.

I know it, you know it, and luckily, CoilArt know it – which is why after releasing the CoilArt Mage RTA V2 they went straight on to launching a stock coil version of essentially the exact same tank. Well done CoilArt.

For the purpose of this review, I am looking at the black and golden version of the CoilArt Mage SubTank. I predominately used Just Jam on Toast which is an 80/20 VG/PG e-liquid and had the tank sitting on the Aspire Skystar.

Disclaimer: I received the CoilArt Mage SubTank for the purpose of this review. All opinions are based on my own experience.

What’s in the Box:

The Mage came neatly packaged in a solid box with a nice outer layer. No complaints. It looks good and feels classy.

Build Quality

The build quality is good. I’m not going to pretend to know the materials used but everything arrived clean and tightened down smoothly. It feels solid, has good weight, and after heavy use there isn’t any sign of wear, tear, or, paint peel. The 24mm diameter means this tank is going to look good on most vape mods.

coilart mage subtank on aspire skystar
Mage Subtank on Aspire Skystar mod

It is also one of the easiest tanks I’ve come across to unscrew when refilling. The knurling is extremely grippy and I haven’t once had to grab a tissue and wrestle with the top to get it undone.

One niggle, the tank does get hot after chain vaping. Hot enough that if you have been chain vaping and need to refill, you may need to leave it to one side for a minute to cool off before trying to get the cap off.

Aesthetics

The Coilart Mage is a good-looking tank. There isn’t anything to take offence to, no snake skin effect finishes, no gaudy colour’s, and, no imposing drip tip. It’s simple but not boring. The gold etching around the drip tip and towards the base in my opinion just adds enough flare to keep it looking far more expensive than the £20 price point.

Coilart Mage SubtankThe frosted bubble glass may or may not be your thing but it isn’t distasteful or overly showy.

Mage subtank and bubbleglassMage with bubble glass inserted

The drip tip is 810 and stumpy. The plastic around it is so thick that the air-hole comes up small. It took me a little while to get used to it but once I did it was fine.

How Does CoilArt Mage SubTank Perform?

Quick Start Use

Coilart mage subtank partsThe tank comes with two coils. The mesh coil rated at 0.2 ohm comes pre-installed. A spare standard 0.4 ohm is also provided, wrapped in CoilArt branded protective packaging, which feels hygienic compared to companies who provide their spares without.

wrap on the mage subtank coilsBoth coils screw into the base. When you’re replacing the coils make sure you screw it down firmly but not so tight that you can’t remove it later.

One thing to keep in mind is that you do need to have an empty tank when replacing the coils, not ideal, but some tanks are worth it.

coil in base of coilart mage subtankTo fill the tank up you simply put your eliquid into the large kidney shaped juice fill holes and then screw the cap back on.

How To Fill the CoilArt Mage Subtank

Stock Coils

The Standard 0.4 Ohm Coil

The standard 0.4 ohm coil is decent. There was very little break in time, approximately one full tank of juice, but overall the flavour and vapour production are both good. Not sensational but above average, good.coilart mage subtank 0.4ohm coil

It’s a warm to hot dry style of vape. My personal preference with this coil was to leave the adjustable airflow halfway shut and while the coil coped fine throughout the wattage range, my sweet spot was 42 watts. The coil is rated at 0.4 ohm but on my mod it came in at 0.38 ohm.

The Mesh 0.2 Ohm Coil

The mesh coil is the real star of the show. The flavour is superb. Again, it’s a warm vape and slightly on the wet side but in a delicious sort of way. It performed throughout the wattage range but my preference with this coil was to leave the airflow fully open and my sweet spot was 60 watts.

Mage Subtank Mesh coil

I left this tank sitting for 16 hours during the course of my testing. When I fired it up there was a loud crackle and pop. It took me by surprise but the coil was fine. This is perhaps something to watch if you’re the type to leave your sub-ohm device at home during the day. I’d advise giving it a gentle pulse of power to get it warmed up before you begin vaping.

Coil Resistance Jump

The resistance of these coils did jump around widely. The coil is rated at 0.2 ohm. I didn’t get a 0.2 ohm coil reading at any point. I got readings ranging from as low as 0.15 ohm up to 0.18 ohm. This didn’t impact performance though and if I’m right, this is more common in general with mesh coils.

Upon reviewing the CoilArt website there also appears to be a standard 0.2 ohm coil. This is referenced in the instruction manual also, but it wasn’t included in the kit so I can’t give a review on its performance.

Coil Life

Both coils just went on and on, although the mesh coil did peak the standard coil. After 11 days using the mesh coil there was zero signs of it starting to go. Reluctantly I had to ditch it purely so that I had enough chance to properly review the other coil.

The 0.4Ohm coil I’m still vaping on while I’m writing this. I’ve been using it for 5 days none stop and it’s only today I’ve noted a slight flavour drop but only slight. This coil feels like it still has at least 3 or 4 more days left in it.

It’s important to state I am a serious chain vaper. This vape came away on holiday with me, and, in an evening sat on the balcony of my hotel, where I was free to blow as many obnoxious clouds as I liked, this tank was in constant use. I didn’t get a single dry hit. Also,

I didn’t experience any leaking. I mean none at all, not even a smidgen of residue around the base.

All that said while I love this tank and its coils, if you’re the type that prefers a cool vape, this isn’t the tank for you. Both coils gave off a warm to hot vape

On a side note, I’ve heard that SMOK baby beast coils are compatible with this tank, but honestly, I can’t see why anyone would choose to put SMOK coils in this tank when a three pack of coils by CoilArt will cost you under £10 and likely last much longer and have better flavour. The coils are terrific value.

Pros:

  • Longevity of coils
  • Affordable
  • Mesh coil has superb flavour
  • Easy to unscrew topfill due to grippy knurling
  • Large juice holes
  • Good eliquid capacity
  • Warm vape
  • Looks good and nice build quality
  • No leaks
  • Bubble glass to increase capacity provided

Cons:

  • Resistance of coils aren’t accurate
  • Cannot change the coil with a full tank of e-liquid
  • Some people may prefer a clear rather than frosted bubble glass
  • Will not appeal to those who prefer a cool vape

Final Verdict

The CoilArt Mage is a great tank at an affordable price. End of. The flavour from the mesh coils is some of the best flavour I’ve ever experienced from a stock coil. Period.

I cannot be more definitive and I would have no issue recommending this tank to readers, family, friends or anyone looking to buy a sub-ohm tank of this ilk.

The Coilart DPRO 133 is, like the name says, by Coilart. Best known for supplying high quality prebuilt coils that most vapers aught to have sampled at least a few of in their time.

Lately though, they’ve been putting their stamp on the gear game with products like the Mage Mech Kit and Mage RDA and more recently, the Azeroth Squonk Kit and Azeroth RDA/RDTA and RTA range.
The DPRO 133 Premium Kit is a testament to Coiltech / Coilart’s skill at both design and manufacture.

This sleek and attractive, unregulated RDA kit comes in six gorgeous metallic colours and celebrates the basic, minimalist approach in both the mod and the RDA design.

This kit is a must have for beginners to RDA’s and coil building as it streamlines use while still providing an outstanding flavour and cloud vape. That streamlining continues in the mod which has nothing but a fire button by way of controls and, effectively, doubles the battery life you’ll get from your 18650s because of it.

Build Quality & Design

DPRO Mod

Opening my neat, black Coilart box with it’s display sleeve on, I was instantly taken aback by the dimensions of this mod, which is run on dual 18650s or single, depending on your preference.Coilart DPRO 133 fire button

It’s one of the smallest dual 18650 devices you’ll find and combined with the anodised aluminium chassis, this fact makes it extremely lightweight.

The mod is a simple round edged rectangle, anodised aluminium, with six vibrant metallic finishes, I have the black and the red version. The base and top are gunmetal and both are 0.5 cm deep but extend on the one narrow side to frame the large rounded rectangular fire button and on the opposite side at the bottom just to balance out the look.Coilart Dpro133 mod in black and red

The fire button is protruding, straight set and wonderfully clicky. It also features, in large white print, the DPRO branding. The fire button is the only feature visible from any side of the mod, except for a small Coilart brand etched into the bottom of one of the mod’s larger sides (the fire button is at the top of the narrow face, furthest from the 510 connection).

The anodised aluminium finish is pristine and beautiful and will stay this way, even when you drop the mod or attempt a scratch (just to see), it’s a high quality finish that’s silky to the touch and looks stunning.

This mod has no screen or other controls but atop the mod, opposite the deep, gold plated, spring loaded 510 connection, you’ll see a see through plastic plate with 4 blue LED battery level indicators set beneath it.

Under the mod, there are no ventilation holes, just a hinged battery door and a chamber that accepts your batteries in parallel. That’s it!

The mod feels lovely and smooth in hand, with a light weight and a perfectly positioned single fire / on / off button.

DPRO RDA

The tiny little Coilart DPRO RDA has a nice, thick ultem drip tip, which is removable; an utterly simplistic external look with the anodised aluminium cap featuring only a small Coilart, etched bran on the side and two 3mm oval airflow holes either side.

The airflow is adjusted with a twist of the cap and will deliver a slightly restricted flow, even when fully open.

No base is visible with the cap on but there is a thin, ultem heat sink which adds an aesthetic touch of yellow and, of course, protection at the base of your RDA.

Pull off the top cap / barrel, which comes off almost too easily with these two medium 0-rings and you’ll see the thick base and post-less, gold plated RDA deck…beautiful.

Minimalist at it’s best, 4 hex screws are easily accessible with your allen key and sit, unusually, around the sides of the base…because of the post-less deck . The deck is smooth but for a seam and four elongated terminals where your ore-clipped coils will be placed, in single or dual configuration.

The benefits of this deck are endless. Great for squonking, because of the way the coils lie in the middle of the deck, directly over the feed. Great for wicking and dripping, also due to their positioning at the centre of the deck.

The airflow is cut through raised side posts which tower up alongside your coil positions. The slots are angled down and I’m guessing the flavour is going to be great, with perfect positioning and a restricted effect.

All machining is superb and the inside of the cap is a perfect little dome…I’m looking forward to vaping on this.

The Included Coils

The included coils are 0.3 Ohm Ni80 fused claptons, in a dual setup they’ll have a 0.15 Ohm resistance. These six-wrap coils provide a flavourful vape with ample cloud on this unregulated 3.7V mod.

The included coils are pre-clipped to fit the postless deck perfectly.

Accessories

Besides all the necessary spares and allen key, I like the inclusion of a squonk pin and heat sink for the RDA.

Also, the cotton is high quality Japanese Organic and the coils are good quality Ni80.

It’s a pity that no instructions were included as this mod seems, for all intents and purposes, to be aimed at beginners, since it’s so easy to use. There are no warnings, no battery safety cards, none of the info we like to see included with vape gear and regardless of the ease of use, beginners still require detailed instructions! Hopefully this was just in the pre-release model I received.

How Does The Coilart DPRO 133 Premium Kit Perform?

This mod makes vaping simple. You’ve no option to change wattage or voltage, you’re given a fire button to fire and that is all.

This mod performs well and for this size RDA, along with the included coils, it provides an excellent vape.

Ramp time is WELL above average, the manufacturer doesn’t provide specs on this but I was very impressed when I fitted my Big Baby Light Edition from Smok and fired to hear an almost instantaneous burn! I enjoyed an extended vaping session on both my Baby Beast and iJoy Combo2 RDTA, both fitted with 0.15 Ohm coils.

This mod is definitely putting out good power, at 3.7 volts: I’m guessing the name implies a maximum wattage at 133W, it feels, most certainly, somewhere in the vicinity of 100-110.

In spite of the fact that this mod is unregulated, meaning the voltage is constant at 3.7 V, straight from the batteries…it still has all the protections you could ask for.

I’ve built down to 0.1 Ohms and this mod held up brilliantly, with no overheating and phenomenal performance throughout.

The biggest benefit of the lack of TC, controls and adjustment features or screen is a battery life that is effectively doubled!

This mod is an easy, single touch pleasure to use that’s powerful and power efficient!

The RDA has a wonderful restricted airflow and I experienced brilliant flavour and cloud, as well as a very smooth flow and particularly smooth, pleasant sound, due to the position of the coils and the domed inner cap. The airflow can whistle slightly but only when it’s full open.

I was impressed with the performance of the DPRO RDA on the included mod but had issues when fitting it to other devices, including my ohm meter as most of the time it failed to register…that’s when I realised I needed to remove the freaking heat sink because it makes the pin too short. It works great on all the mods I tried it with!

How To Fill

  • Simply drip through the 810 or take it out to drip
  • Provided you don’t over drip, this RDA isn’t messy at all

How To Change the Coils

  • Unscrew the four hex screws in the base of the RDA
  • Pre-clip your coils and insert the leads into the terminals
  • Be sure that your coils are placed across the seam so that they lie in line with your airflow
  • Replace the screws
  • Pulse the coils to ensure an even burn
  • Wick and Juice
  • Enjoy

Ease of build

The post-less design of this deck makes for a hassle free build that can literally be done in a couple of minutes. I found the build and wicking easy and the screws and terminals very accessible! The terminals will accommodate a range of coil sizes and the deck is relatively spacious considering the small diameter of the RDA.

This does require constant dripping if you’re a vape monster like me…the juice well is meager, but at least it doesn’t have a bowl shaped well. I prefer this design as it’s definitely less messy and more efficient. Still, an extra 2 mm depth would have been the business.

How To Operate the Menu System

There is no menu system on this device, only 5 clicks on or off and fire, all on the same button. The 4 LED indicator lights diminish with battery life and each light represents 25% of your charge.

How To Replace The batteries

  • Pop open the hinged battery door
  • Slide the batteries in in parallel, negative at the door

Battery Life

Exceptional…a pair of 18650 Samsung 2500s will last you more than two full days vaping at 0.15 Ohm resistance. Please note that this device does not support on board charge!

What I Liked

I love the sleek anodised aluminium finish and overall brilliant machining and aesthetic. I enjoyed the simplicity of the design with no controls, TC, wattage adjust, just a fire button and indicator lights. I enjoyed the extended battery life and the fact that you can use this mod with one cell if necessary!

What I Dislike

This RDA is small…so it does require frequent dripping but with the slimmed down mod, which doesn’t take up any of your concentration with complications, it’s actually not that much of a problem.

Final Review Verdict

The Coilart DPRO 133 is a beautiful, minimalist kit, that’s a pleasure to hold and to vape, it has superb battery life and just all awesome performance. It’s a must have and, as far as I’m concerned, a collectors item because it must be the best performing mod and RDA kit around that features this level of simplicity.

Pros

  • Incredible compact
  • Lightweight aluminium
  • Beautiful, scratch resistant finish
  • Easy and effective postless  build deck
  • Lovely restricted airflow provides deep flavour and ample cloud
  • Extremely good battery life
  • Zero complications…just lights and a fire button

Cons

  • The cap on the rdas, when juiced up…can be a little too easy to get off, especially if you’re carrying it in your pocket or bag, best to replace these o-rings with thicker ones
  • The juice well is fairly shallow

The CoilART Azeroth Squonk mod is the latest mechanical squonker offering to be released.

Here is a little preview video to give you a glimpse of what this promises.

The body is made from anodised aluminium with what appears to be a carbon fibre back panel.

Coilart azeroth squonk mod mechanicalYou can use a 18650, 20700 or 21700 battery with this – which is handy if you already have batteries knocking about – you will not have to buy a specific type for this.

Coilart azeroth purple squonking modThe fire connection is 24K gold plated and the 510 connection pin and battery contacts are self-adjusting.

The squonk bottle is included and is a 7ml capacity food grade silicone bottle.

Coilart Azeroth Squonk internal componentsThere are 6 colours available: Black, Red, Silver, Golden, Blue and Purple. The purple is my favourite just from the marketing images!

Coilart Azeroth Squonk mod marketing imageOne of the marketing images does show the mod with a tank installed – but in pre-order state you buy the mod on its own.

The tank shown in the Coil-Art-y image below is the CoilART DPRO.

Coilart azeroth Dpro

Kit Includes

  • Azeroth Squonk Mod
  • 7mL Silicone Squonk Bottle (Pre-Installed)
  • Battery Cover
  • User Manual
  • Spare Parts

CoilART Azeroth Squonk Mod Specs

  • 85.5mm x 50mm x 27mm
  • Compatible with 1865020700 and 21700 battery

  • 24K gold plated fire connection
  • Intelligent ultem fire button
  • Carbon fibre plate
  • 7ml food grade silicone bottle
  • Internal self-adjustable connect pin
  • Features self-adjusting battery contact

There are some good pre-order deals knocking about – but full price this is quite a bit more expensive than similar mods. However the marketing does emphasise the good quality materials used in the construction of this – so this might be worth paying a bit extra.

But remember the tank and batteries are not included so get a good bottom feed RDA and some good quality batteries and charger in ready for when this arrives!
