Advken are most well known for producing tanks such as the Artha and Manta ranges. But we have also had some pod mods such as the Artha and Potento X.

What To Expect From The Advken FOB AIO…

This is a “Boro” compatible AIO (All In One) box style kit.

This is based on the “Boro” platform and therefore offers compatibility with other Boro tanks.

You get an Advken tank included in the kit. This tank has a removable deck which appears to be configured for a single coil build.

At the base of the tank is a removable airflow pin. This can be swapped with one of the other 5 included in the kit. The pins all have a different diameter airflow inlet so you can customise the incoming airflow to suit your preference.

The mod itself requires a single 18650 battery which is not included in the kit.

This has a variable wattage output of 1-80W and allows use of coils between 0.1ohm and 3ohm resistance!

A colour LCD screen is provided – but the size is not specified. However there are 5 display colour themes to choose from.

Advken state that the device can be easily disassembled and you can replace and customise the components. In fact the 510 drip tip has been designed so it can be turned upside down and used to unscrew the tank connection for tank removal.

There are 3 colour options to choose from: Cissa Green, Hainan Blue and Magpie Black.

Advken originally became popular due to some great atomisers such as the Manta RTA, Artha RDA and Manta MTL RTA. However they have also knocked out Sub Ohm Tanks such as the Manta Sub Ohm plus pod kits such as the Artha Pod and Wanderlust Lite.

What Is New For The Advken Owl Pro Tank?

As mentioned above this is the second generation of the Owl tank but in a larger format.

The original Owl tank had 3/4ml capacity – whereas the Pro is now 5ml with the bubble glass and 4ml with the supplied straight glass.

Also different are the coils. The original was compatible with lots of different screw in coils from other manufacturers. Sadly this feature seems to have vanished.

The coils used are now the “Owl Pro Coil” range and there are 0.4ohm and 0.2ohm mesh variants available. Both of these are supplied in the kit.

Installation of the coil is simple with a push in / pull out coil securing system.

As for the airflow this again has the top adjustable airflow which should help reduce chances of leaking through the air inlets.

The top fill is now a screw off cap rather than the slide top cap on the original.

An 810 drip tip sits on the top and this is replaceable.

There are 2 colours to choose from: Black and Stainless Steel.

It seems a shame this tank is no longer compatible with lots of other coils – but this sacrifice does mean the coil installation has been modernised to a simpler push in / pull out system.

This range is now pretty old but I have found a Mech mod kit, RDTA and RDA which also bear the same name.

What To Expect From The Advken Mad Hatter RTA?

The Advken website doesn’t give a huge amount of detail on this at present but I will tell you what I do know so far.

One of the first things I noticed is how short this tank is – the diameter is 24mm but the height not including the drip tip is only 28.7mm.

The deck is for a single coil with 2 posts and screws located on one side. You will need to use coils where the legs exit on the same side.

The other side of the deck features a curved wall with honeycomb airflow outlets. There are also airflow outlets below the coil.

On the base of the tank are the airflow inlets and an adjustable ring allows you to open or cover this airflow to suit your preference.

The capacity is 2ml and a slide top cap allows access to the refill port.

A wire bore 810 drip tip is installed to allow for more vapour and airflow travel.

A Dr Doctor Coil accessory kit is included which contains O-rings and spare screws. Also included is a screwdriver

Advken are a pretty low key company but they have provided us with some great kit in the past including the Manta RTA and the CP TF RTA.

More Details On The Advken Potento X…

As you can see the kit comprises of two main components – the battery device (or “Mod”) and the tank (or “Pod”).

The mod itself conceals a 950mAh battery which is pretty decent for the device size and is charged via the USB Type C port.

You can also adjust the output from 3.2-4.2V using the wheel located on the side.

An airflow control knob is also provided but it is not clear how you can adjust this.

Included in the kit is a handy lanyard to help you keep the device at hand at all times.

The fire function is activated when inhaling on the mouthpiece automatically.

The pod or tank is refillable with up to 2.5ml of your own e-liquid via the side fill port.

As the pod is a fixed coil type you cannot change the coil, you simply discard the entire pod when the performance drops.

There are two pod options and both are included in the kit:

What To Expect From The Advken Artha Pod Mod?

As you can guess the pod mod version carries on the name from the Artha V2 RDA and the original Artha RDA (which scored well in review here at Ecigclick).

I keep typing “Arthur” though… Oh and I am aware of the multiple typo’s which are showing on the images from the Advken website. Perhaps Artha is just a typo?

Anyway at first glance this seems to be a Billet Box style design, featuring a box and a square type tank / pod. Other similar devices are the Aspire Mulus Kit and the Augvape Narada pod.

Looking at the main device first – this uses a single 18650 battery which is not included. To access the battery and the pod the side cover is removable.

This is a variable wattage device and you can select the desired power from 5-80W.

A 0.42in OLED screen located on the bottom will inform you of your vaping data. The adjustment buttons are located next to the screen on the base.

The pod is basically a cartridge which you install into the side of the device which will hold up to 4.5ml of e-liquid. This is refillable by removing the side cover and filling plug covering the fill port.

Also you can change the coil on this kit with 2 coil options available – 0.3ohm Mesh and 0.8ohm mesh. Both coils are included in the kit.

On the base of the coil is an airflow adjustment ring so you can set the incoming airflow to your preference.

Plus there is a “510 Adaptor” included in the kit. Basically this bypasses the cartridge and has a 510 connector on the top. This enables you to use a standard atomiser / tank on the device.

There are 5 colours to choose from: Ink Gunmetal, Aurora Blue, Gradual Black, Aurora Red and Ink Black.

The original Artha RDA came to us for review in January 2018, and despite performing well, it didn’t really blow our reviewer Laura-ann away with its performance.

Being someone who detests the urine / nicotine stained PEI colour scheme I can instantly say the V2 is much prettier in my eyes!

However beneath the looks what else is on offer?

For a start the build deck is laid out quite differently. This is still a dual coil RDA but instead of 2 posts which are shared between 2 coils, this time you have 4 separate posts.

The posts are also designed with larger holes for the coil legs to enable some more complex and beefier coil builds to be installed.

Another huge improvement on the version 2 is the fact the airflow is now adjustable. The original version did not have that ability.

There are two different size airflow slots and also you can reduce or expose these slots to your preference by turning the top cap.

The barrel is made from 304 food grade Stainless Steel and the machining on this does look pretty when coupled with the patterned top cap.

I have not seen any mention of whether this RDA is compatible with a squonk mod or if you have the option of replacing the solid 510 pin with a hollow BF pin? So that might be worth checking if you are a squonker.

There are 2 colours to choose from – Stainless Steel and Gunmetal.

The Manta V2 MTL RTA By Advken Previewed

The Advken Manta V2 MTL RTA is the newest addition to the Manta range of atomisers.

So far we have got the 1st generation Manta MTL RTA, the Manta Sub Ohm Tank and the original Manta RTA.

As the name suggests this is a rebuildable tank atomiser (or RTA for short) where you install you own coils and cotton.

The “MTL” part of the name means this tank is designed for MTL style vapers.

MTL stands for “Mouth To Lung” and is a style which usually features a precise airflow control, higher resistance coils and lower power vaping. We tell you more about this in our guide to MTL and DTL vaping styles.

How is the version 2 of the MTL RTA different from its older brother?

Well the main marketing feature of this RTA is the multiple airflow options.

You can select from side intake airflow, bottom intake airflow or a combination of both using the dial on the base. When turned there is a symbol to indicate which mode is selected:

• B = bottom airflow system
• H = bottom and side – half open airflow
• A = bottom and side – fully open airflow
• S = side airflow system

The build deck is for a single coil with two posts and clamp screw layout. The airflow as mentioned above either comes up from below the centre mounted coil or in through the side of the deck.

As this is an RTA it has an e-liquid chamber which will hold up to 2ml of e-liquid and is refilled via the top fill cap.

Straight away I have been thinking about the Freemax Mesh Pro which seems to be the main rival on the market for multi mesh sub ohm tanks.

Strangely enough the coils for this look pretty similar too. I do wonder if they will be compatible – like with the Augvape Skynet Pro which can use Freemax coils.

Now this is a larger tank with 24-25mm diameter (depending on which bit of the page you look at!).

The Dark Mesh tank can hold up to 6ml of e-liquid depending on the glass and coils installed. With the triple coil installed it will only hold 5ml – I assume the coil takes up some of the volume.

Advken have 2 coil heads which can be used with this tank:

• Single Mesh – Kanthal – 0.15ohm – 50-80W
• Triple Mesh – Kanthal – 0.15ohm 80-110W.

You get both types of coil in the kit.

On the top of the tank is a slide open top cap which reveals the filling port.

However, the Shenzhen based company have released some cracking bits of kit over the last few years including the highly rated and much loved Manta RTA, Mad Hatter RDA and a variety of mods such as the AYANA 60W and the Honeycomb mech mod.

What is the Single Coil Advken CP TF RTA All About?

Advken’s CP TF, a top fill (TF) rebuildable tank atomiser is the latest bit of hardware to be released and I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on one. Now I must admit I’m not much of a RTA user so I was keen to give the CP TF a shot to see if it could challenge my misconceptions about tanks in general.

So without further hesitation let’s dive into the box and see what’s what with the CP TF. The CP TF was sent to me for review, however, this will not alter or shape my opinions of the product.

Design and Build Quality

The CP TF is fairly conventionally designed. I have been sent the black version and like most tanks it’s a little on the large side but isn’t unattractive and looks fairly tasty and well-proportioned on my Lost Vape Therion.

Starting at the top we have a frosted grey 810 PC drip tip (“anti-burning” according to the poorly translated Advken website). The top cap features a triangular knurled design which blends into the drip tip very nicely.

A small triangular symbol indicates where to slide the top fill cap for filling the tank revealing a generously sized fill port. The sliding action is very smooth and takes very little effort to open.

Below this is the top airflow which features a lightly knurled design for ease of grip. The airflow is interesting in that it can only be adjusted to three “clickable” positions- fully open (9.2mm), half open (6.6mm) and restricted (3mm). The top airflow should help reduce the leaks that can be common on RTAs.

The CP logo is tastefully engraved on the side of the chamber, silver on black. The base of the RTA is lightly knurled to ease fitting to your mod. Finally the 510 pin is gold plated and is protruding thus making the tank hybrid safe if you wish to use it on a mech mod.

The RTA I received had no machine oil or burrs and the threading is smooth and silky. All in all the machining and quality is pretty spot on.

How Does the Advken CP TF Perform?

Building

The CP TF is designed as a single coil device with a reduced chamber to optimise flavour. Building on the CP TF is pretty straightforward. The postless design deck looks to be gold-plated but I can find no confirmation of that online.

Two flat-headed screws, one per terminal, secure the coil in place. I know some people dislike flat-heads but I had no issues with them and they operated very smoothly.

As this is a reduced chamber, there isn’t really much space for larger more complex coils. I fitted a 3mm triple core Ni80 0.17ohm coil without any problems but would be very hesitant to go any larger than that.

Wicking

When it comes to wicking, the CP TF can be a little tricky to get right, particularly for someone such as myself who doesn’t use RTAs much. The wicking ports are fairly small and the juice inlet ports are hidden by the lower walls of the deck.

Therefore I couldn’t do my usual trick of simply laying the wick across the deck and cutting to length by eye. Instead I had to estimate the length by trial and error.

I must admit it took me a few goes to wick it just right. At first I either got dry hits from hell or zero flavour. Eventually after a bit of perseverance I hit the sweet spot.

I found that the best results were achieved by cutting the wicks much shorter than you’d think you need too and just tucking them very slightly into the wicking ports allowing for the fact that the cotton will expand when soaked in juice. Leave the wicks too long and they will block up the juice ports and you’ll get nothing but dry hits.

Vaping the CP TF

The Advken CP TF is a single coiled RTA so you are never going to get humongous clouds of vapour but I found the results perfectly satisfying. When it comes to flavour the CF TP doesn’t disappoint. I used a juice I am very familiar dripping with, Just Jam Strawberry.

The RTA picked out the tanginess of the strawberry on the inhale and left a rich sweetness on the palate on the exhale. It really doesn’t fall far short of what I get from my favoured single coil reduced chamber RDAs I habitually use such as the Entheon or Skyfall.

The airflow was reasonably quiet and smooth considering it is a top flow although I found it a little turbulent in the fully opened position. I used the CF TP every day for a week and not once did I get a single leakage so the top airflow certainly does its job.

I did find it somewhat thirsty and was surprised as to how often I was refilling the RTA.

However, the sliding top cap makes this a simple action. I mostly used the RTA on my Lost Vape Therion although I did try it on my Dreamer mech and the results were just as good and the wicking kept up with a freshly charged VTC5A and a bit of chain vaping with no dry hits whatsoever.

Pros

Final Review Verdict

Well did the CP TF do enough to convert me to a RTA user?

Not quite but that’s nothing against the device and more down to my style of vaping. I enjoy the flavour from a single coil build and in this respect the CF TP didn’t disappoint. I really can’t fault it for flavour. Some people may find the amount of vapour a little disappointing but for me it was perfectly satisfying and bear in mind I usually vape on a mech mod with a fairly rowdy build which throws clouds like a 1950s London smog!

I was very impressed with the lack of leakage in day to day use and the mod and RTA was in and out my pocket all day. Not once did I lose a single drop of juice. Filling the tank is an absolute doddle with the easy sliding top cap.

For me though the amount of faffing about getting the wicking just right outweighs the benefits and convenience of a tank over dripping or squonking. This isn’t a RTA I’d recommend to a first time user.

I really like the looks of the CF TP and was very impressed with the overall build quality. The limited airflow options didn’t bother me and I ran it mostly in the central position which gave me a relatively quiet slightly restricted lung hit. However, the airflow’s limited options will not appeal to many users.

All in all if you’re in the market for a single coil RTA and have some experience wicking RTAs I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Advken CF TP RTA.

The Owl is so called I think because of its “squat” “wider than tall” appearance.

Included in the kit are the 0.16ohm and 0.2ohm mesh coils.

This tank is compatible with the coils from the Advken Manta and Dominator tanks plus you can also use coils from the Vaporesso NRG, Smok TFV8 Baby, Big Baby and TFV12 Baby Prince. Very handy if you are stuck for coils.

Another good design feature is that there is a top airflow intake and top airflow adjustment. This helps to reduce leaks – bottom airflow tanks can sometimes leak from the airflow inlets.

There are two glass sizes to change the tank capacity – the standard straight glass is 3ml and the bubble glass is 4ml – you get both in the kit.

Add to the other nice features you also get a top sliding refill cap.
